Believers should be aware of the dangers of Satan and his attempts to lead them astray from Allah. Satan tries to deceive people by making the life of this world alluring and making them forget the existence of the hereafter. He also stirs up hatred amongst believers and encourages greed. Despite Satan's tactics, Allah has given believers the power to resist him and remain devoted to Him, and promises them abundance and forgiveness.
Believers should seek refuge in Allah if they feel an evil urge from Satan, as He will protect them from the punishment of the Searing Blaze.

There was a time when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ wasn’t receiving any revelation from Allah. The revelation was delayed for a while, and the disbelievers started saying that his Lord had left and abandoned him. The Prophet ﷺ was really upset and kept thinking that Allah had forgotten about him ﷺ, to the point where he couldn't even sleep at night because of it. But then Allah wanted to reassure the Prophet ﷺ that He ﷺ hadn’t left or abandoned him ﷺ like the disbelievers were saying. So, He sent down the revelation, and these amazing verses were revealed.
May Allah heal all of our hearts in a way that amazes everyone in the heavens and on earth."

Some of my fave religious-themed movies in which God provides the protagonist with divine spiritual revelations through his wisdom!
Last Temptation is controversial because it’s perceived as blasphemous, but I appreciate how it humanized and presented a different side of Christ. I really wanted to hate the Passion of the Christ because of its gory infamy, but it actually had me shook and helped me comprehend the real, raw pain of Christ’s crucifixion. And The Passion of Joan of Arc is absolutely gut wrenching as her life and trial also unfolded in a Christ-like manner as well.
The Ten Commandments, The Robe, and Ben Hur all speak to my love of biblical epics, as they beautifully illustrate parts of the New and Old Testament. Lion of the Desert and Malcolm X both show the power of Islam in strengthening the individual and giving him limitless power through belief in Allah.
As for the Holy Mountain and Siddhartha… they’re actually more like new age/shamanic/mysticism, as I think both Hesse and Jodorowsky have ambivalent and atheistic views towards organized religion. Yet they’re on the list because at least they tried to invoke something higher lol!
In compiling this list, I found that actual religious movies of substance are so rare?? And I don’t mean bad Protestant Lifetimes movies lmao. Like there are tons of movies criticizing religion, which is of course part of freedom of speech, but why so much venality in the film industry towards religion?
Whereas in the art and music world, religion plays a massive role. So it’s interesting to ask that question and to try and uncover cinema that actually affirms and strengthens one’s faith instead of just brewing doubt, ridicule and antipathy towards any sense of spirituality and worship.

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said,
“Allah loves that when one of you does something, that they perfect it.”
{Reported by al-Bayhaqi in Shu‘ab al-Iman (4929)}
It was the norm of the Ummah to be from amongst those who were excellent or strive for excellency in everything they did. More so, when it came to particular subjects. For example :
Imam Shafi’i رحمه الله excelled in the Arabic Langauge so much so, that he became a reference in it. If we don’t know a word, we go look it up in the dictionary. When the people in his time didn’t know a word or differed regarding its meaning, they went to Imam Shafi’i رحمه الله
It was said about Shaykh Sulaymān Al-Alwān فك الله اسره that he knows the narrators of Hadīth like his children.
Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه was an expert in genealogy and all of those in his time, went to him.
Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril حفظه الله can recall an ayah from Quran or a Hadīth from memory and quote the exact page number/verse number.
I gave examples not only from the past but from the present as well so you don’t think that it was reserved for only them. And know that you can be like the sahaba, as they didn’t receive revelation like us.
So as a reminder for myself first always and to everyone else, do anything to an excellent level. If there is a subject that you are inclined to, hone in on it and give it all of your sincere efforts. Let’s bring back individuals of Islam that will be a standard once again for all things related to perfection and being the best. It is only befitting for the best Ummah to be the best themselves. May Allah grant us all sincerity and Ihsan آمين

The Islamic Stance on Halloween and Its Historical Roots
The ancient Celtic (Irish/Scottish/Welsh) festival called Samhain is considered by most historians and scholars to be the predecessor of what is now Halloween.
Samhain was the New Year's Day of the pagan Celts. It was also the Day of the Dead, a time when it was believed that the souls of those who had died during the year were allowed access into the "land of the dead".
Many traditional beliefs and customs associated with Samhain continue to be practiced today on the 31st of October. Most notable of these customs are the practice of leaving offerings of food and drink (now candy) to masked and costumed revelers, and the lighting of bonfires.
Elements of this festival were incorporated into the Christian festival of All Hallow's Eve, or Hallow-Even, the night preceding All Saint's (Hallows') Day.
It is the glossing of the name Hallow-Even that has given us the name of Halloween. Until recent times in some parts of Europe, it was believed that on this night the dead walked amongst them, and that witches and warlocks flew in their midst. In preparation for this, bonfires were built to ward off these malevolent spirits.
The Islamic Perspective
Iman (faith) is the foundation of Islamic society, and tawheed (the belief in the existence and Oneness of Allah) is the essence of this faith and the very core of Islam. The safeguarding of this iman, and of this pure tawheed, is the primary objective of all Islamic teachings and legislation.
In order to keep the Muslim society purified of all traces of shirk (associating partners with Allah) and remnants of error, a continuous war must be waged against all customs and practices which originate from societies' ignorance of divine guidance, and in the errors of idol worship.
In terms of Shariah, it will not be permissible to participate in the celebration of Halloween as it is based on un-Islamic practices and beliefs.
As Muslims, we are required to preserve our beliefs and not imitate un-Islamic practices .
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said :
You must keep to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Caliphs; cling to it firmly. Beware of newly invented matters, for every new matter is an innovation, and every innovation is misleading.
(Bukhari).Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith Number 42) Hadith 28, 40 Hadith an-Nawawi)
Whoever imitates a nation is one of them.
(Source: Sunan Abi‌ Da‌wu‌d 4031
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani)
And Allah knows best.

When will the help of Allah arrive?
The revelation of Surah Al-Ankabut occurred when Muslims faced severe oppression. Once Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) began preaching Islam publicly, his few followers quickly found that professing faith meant facing ruthless torture and execution. Men from the Mecca like Abu Bakr (ra), were beaten unconscious in the streets, while slaves like Bilal b. Rabah (ra) and Suhayb b. Sinân (ra) were shackled and left to scorch in the midday desert sun.
The conditions had become extremely unfavorable, and a noble companion was tortured with burning coals without clothes. They took him to hot, open areas in the city when the sun was very strong. It was scorching on the ground. They removed his clothes, put iron armor on him, and laid him on the hot ground. Because of the intense heat, his skin would burn, and his body would become still. His skin melted due to the extreme conditions, and he went to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), asking, "Why isn't Allah's help coming, considering what we are going through?"
Then, the verses of Surah Al-Ankabut were revealed. When Surah Al-Ankabut was revealed, its initial verses emphasized patience. The first verses addressed the companions, saying, “Do people think once they say, “We believe,” that they will be left without being put to the test? We certainly tested those before them. And ˹in this way˺ Allah will clearly distinguish between those who are truthful and those who are liars.”
After this, the mention of Prophet Noah began, highlighting that he had to endure centuries of waiting, and eventually, Allah's help came through the flood. After that, the mention of Prophet Abrahim followed, who faced difficulties from his own people and was saved from the fire.
Then the story of Prophet Lut is mentioned. Prophet Lut was also supposed to migrate. However, at that point, the command for migration had not yet been given. Prophet Lut would be questioning when the command would come and when they would leave this place.
After a long period of patience, finally, the angels came, and the command for migration was given.
Allah, through these stories, was conveying to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that just as He helped all those previous prophets, He would help them too. However, they needed to be patient and wait, just as all of them had to wait.
This Surah gives us hope that help would surely come, and it would come in a way one cannot anticipate. All we have to do is wait patiently.

The Importance of Madīnah al-Munawwarah
Qadī Iyad (d. 544) said:
"Among the ways to magnify and honor prophet ﷺ is to magnify all his causes and to honor his sites and places, from Makkah and Madīnah, and his institutions, and what he touched ﷺ, or is known by.
Tumblr media
Imam Mālik رَحِمَه اللَّه would not ride an animal in Madīnah and he used to say: "I am shy before Allah to tread on the soil where the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, is with the hoof of an animal" and it is narrated about him that he gave Imam Shafi'i many horses and mules that he had, and Imam Shafi'i said: "Keep for yourself an animal from them" So he responded to him with a similar answer.
and Imam Mālik issued a fatwa that whoever said the soil of Madīnah is bad should be beaten thirty lashes and ordered to be imprisoned, as he had a high status. He said: "How deserving he is of having his neck struck: the soil in which the Prophet ﷺ, was buried, he claims is not good!"
Az-Zāhid who was among the brave archers, that he said: "I have not touched the bow with my hand except in a state of purity since I learned that the Prophet ﷺ, took the bow with his hand."
And the cap [qālansuwa] of Khalid Ibn al-Walid had some hairs from the hair of the Prophet, His cap fell during one of his battles, and he made a fierce effort to retrieve it, which the companions of the Prophet ﷺ criticized because of the many who were killed in it. He said: "I did not do it because of the cap, but because of what it contained of his hair ﷺ so that I would not be deprived of its blessing and it would not fall into the hands of the disbelievers."
And in the Sahih, it is said that the Prophet ﷺ said about Madīnah: "Whoever commits a crime in it or shelters a criminal, upon him is the curse of Allāh, the angels, and all the people; Allāh will not accept from him any compensation or justice."
After a few lines, Qadī Iyad then said: "and it is narrated that Abū al-Fadl al-Jāwharī when he visited Madīnah and approached its houses, dismounted and walked weeping, reciting: "and when we saw the trace of the one who did not leave us a heart to recognize the traces nor a mind, We dismounted from our mounts, walking in honor of the one who departed, that we might visit him as a caravan. and it is narrated from some seekers that when he looked upon the Madīnah of the Messenger ﷺ, he began saying, quoting: "The veil has been lifted for us, revealing to the observer a moon before which illusions vanish, And when the mounts brought us to Muhammad, riding on them became forbidden, They brought us near to the best of those who trod the earth So it has upon me reverence and respect." and it is narrated from some of the mashāyikh that he performed the Hajj walking, and it was said to him about that. He said: "The runaway servant comes to the house of his master riding? If I could walk on my head, I would not walk on my feet." and it is appropriate for places that were populated by revelation and the descent of divine messages, and where Jibrīl and Mīkā'īl frequented, and from where the angels and Rūh ascended, and whose courtyards were filled with sanctification and praise, and whose soil encompassed the body of the master of mankind.
From it spread the religion [dīn] of Allāh and the Sunnah of His Messenger, what spread. Schools of verses, mosques of prayers, scenes of virtues and goodness, institutes of proofs and miracles, rites of religion [dīn], landmarks of Muslims, the stands of the master of messengers, and the abode of the seal of prophets, where prophethood burst forth, and where its tide overflowed, and places that wrapped the message, and the first land whose soil touched the skin of the chosen one. That we should honor its courtyards and inhale its fragrances."
– Kītab ash-Shifā' bi-Ta'rīf Huqūq al-Muṣṭafá 17/17
