 Our Nation has made tremendous progress in advancing the cause of equality for LGBTQI+ Americans, including in the military.  Despite their courage and great sacrifice, thousands of LGBTQI+ service members were forced out of the military because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.  Many of these patriotic Americans were subject to a court-martial.  While my Administration has taken meaningful action to remedy these problems, the impact of that historical injustice remains.  As Commander in Chief, I am committed to maintaining the finest fighting force in the world.  That means making sure that every member of our military feels safe and respected.

     Accordingly, acting pursuant to the grant of authority in Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution of the United States, I, Joseph R. Biden Jr., do hereby grant a full, complete, and unconditional pardon to persons convicted of unaggravated offenses based on consensual, private conduct with persons age 18 and older under former Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), as previously codified at 10 U.S.C. 925, as well as attempts, conspiracies, and solicitations to commit such acts under Articles 80, 81, and 82, UCMJ, 10 U.S.C. 880, 881, 882.  This proclamation applies to convictions during the period from Article 125’s effective date of May 31, 1951, through the December 26, 2013, enactment of section 1707 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 (Public Law 113-66).

     The purpose of this proclamation is to pardon only offenses based on consensual, private conduct between individuals 18 and older that do not involve any aggravating factor, including:  

     (1)  conduct that would violate 10 U.S.C. 893a, prohibiting activities with military recruits or trainees by a person in a position of special trust;      (2)  conduct that was committed with an individual who was coerced or, because of status, might not have felt able to refuse consent;      (3)  conduct on the part of the applicant constituting fraternization under Article 134 of the UCMJ;      (4)  conduct committed with the spouse of another military member; or      (5)  any factors other than those listed above that were identified by the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in United States v. Marcum as being outside the scope of Lawrence v. Texas as applied in the military context, 60 M.J. 198, 207–08 (2004).

     The Military Departments (Army, Navy, or Air Force), or in the case of the Coast Guard, the Department of Homeland Security, in conjunction with the Department of Justice, shall provide information about and publicize application procedures for certificates of pardon.  An applicant for a certificate of pardon under this proclamation is to submit an application to the Military Department (Army, Navy, or Air Force) that conducted the court-martial or, in the case of a Coast Guard court-martial, to the Department of Homeland Security.  If the relevant Department determines that the applicant satisfies the criteria under this proclamation, following a review of relevant military justice records, the Department shall submit that determination to the Attorney General, acting through the Pardon Attorney, who shall then issue a certificate of pardon along with information on the process to apply for an upgrade of military discharge.  My Administration strongly encourages veterans who receive a certificate of pardon to apply for an upgrade of military discharge.  

     Although the pardon under this proclamation applies only to the convictions described above, there are other LGBTQI+ individuals who served our Nation and were convicted of other crimes because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.  It is the policy of my Administration to expeditiously consider and to make final pardon determinations with respect to such individuals.

anyways imagine relaxing with him outside by the pool, and you go to bother him. he's sitting on a lawn chair all spread out, smoking a cigarette and as you come up to sit on his lap he blows the smoke in your face. as you're trying to wave the smoke away you frown and ask him if you could try a puff. ofc he says no but eventually he relents. you're against his chest and he lifts your chin and taps your cheek saying "open" and slides the cigarette in. he guides you, and tells you to inhale and hold it, before exhaling. 😮‍💨😩

Aaron is outside by the pool enjoying his day off. It's finally a nice day out after the near constant rain of the last week and he's spending it at your father's house, which you are incredibly happy about. It's just you and him right now and even though you know he's there for relaxation, you can't help bothering him, not that he minds it at all. He actually likes being bothered by you; by other people...maybe not so much.

He's smoking a cigarette and he looks damn good doing it. The way his chest rises when he breathes in and the way he looks when the smoke leaves his lips has you staring at him. It's almost like you're seeing it in slow motion.

You step outside and walk over to him. He looks so hot like this. His hair is slightly messy and he's spread out comfortably. You sit yourself down on his lap and one of his hands finds its home on your waist. He gives you a small smile which you return with a brighter one.

"Are you enjoying your day off?" You ask him and he subconsciously rubs your side as he looks at you. He nods and takes another drag of his cigarette before blowing the smoke out to answer you. It gets in your face and you try to wave it away. "It's been great. Especially when I get to look at you all day." He winks and smirks at you a little. You're still frowning at the smoke he blew in your face and your eyes follow the hand holding the cigarette.

You barely acknowledge his answer before asking him another question. "Can I try it?" You glance at him and his eyebrows are raised now before going slightly furrowed. You've never asked to try it before. "No, honey. I don't think you should." You pout at his words, frowning deeper now. "Why not? You're doing it." "Because I said so. I don't want you starting a bad habit, sweetheart." You huff and lean forward against his chest, your head resting on his shoulder. You understand his point, but you don't have to like it.

Aaron takes one more drag and thinks about your question some more now that you're pouting and huffing at his reluctance to let you try it out. "Please?" You murmur. He goes back and forth on it for a bit and he finally decides to let you. He breaks.

"Fine. You can try." He says with a small hint of a stern tone, but it is mostly soft. You perk up slightly, not expecting him to change his mind.

"Open." Aaron says after gently lifting your head and tapping your cheek. You're surprised because he'd been so reluctant just moments ago. You do as he says, like you always do, and you part your lips for him. "Good." He speaks quietly and slides the cigarette between your lips. "Close and inhale slowly." He directs you and you follow his instructions. You inhale the smoke, the taste of it is horrible and the feeling in your lungs and throat makes you cough.

Aaron rubs your back and shushes you. "Shh. It's okay, try again. Maybe inhale a little less." His voice is gentle. Your eyes sting with a couple of tears and you blink them away. Your throat burns a tiny bit, but you do it again anyway. You take his suggestion and you don't breathe in as much smoke this time. "Good job; now hold it in." He keeps his hands on you, making sure you're steady and keeping you close after removing the cigarette from your mouth. You keep your eyes on his and wait for him to tell you what to do next. "Hold it a little longer..." His hand moves to your cheek and his thumb rubs the soft skin there, the cigarette between two of his fingers.

"Now exhale." And you do so with a slight cough, but it's not nearly as bad as before. The smoke goes into his face and he doesn't bother waving it away like you had done before. He smiles at you and it nearly takes on the shape of a grin. "There you go. You did very well, sweetheart. But I don't want you doing this all the time, understand?" He praises you and then sets a stern rule for you. He knows he can't really control it if you do start up a habit of doing this, but he knows you like to listen to him. You nod your head. "I know I know. I won't. But...I will say, you look really good like this, Aaron. You look hot. You always do, but there's something about you like this...I can't explain it." He chuckles a little and squeezes your side affectionately. He thanks you shyly. It's not often that he doesn't know what to say to someone, but you seem to bring that side out in him more than he thought was possible.

He finishes off the cigarette, which you can't help but watch him do so, and puts it out before pulling you against his chest again. He wasn't expecting this to be something you liked about him, but he's glad he knows now. He's always finding out about these little things he does that you like and find attractive in him, things he would never think someone could find sexy. You're always surprising him and he is always looking forward to those surprises.

🏡 Nine Best Homestuck Moments of 2009 🏡

It’s the end of 2009, and Homestuck is currently sitting at 1088 pages – pretty huge for something that hasn’t even been going for a full year. So as we close out the year and enter what’s sure to be the Homestuck Decade, I thought I’d count down my favorite Homestuck moments of 2009. I’ve loved it all, so it was really hard to narrow down, but when I reflect on this first year of the comic’s existence, this is what sticks in my mind.

9. Rambunctious Crow. (p.350-356)

This is my favorite Dave moment because it’s his irony in action, turned against him by the narrative now that things are getting real. Already knowing that Dave’s losing the betas is a ‘stupid’ and ‘embarrassing’ story (p.294), it still comes as a surprise just how stupid, embarrassing and out of nowhere the reality is. I’m on the crow’s side – it saw something cool and colorful in a grabbable position, and it went for it. It had no idea it was going to get accidentally sylladex-murdered, and I can’t wait to see its new life in Dave’s kernelsprite.

8. Peregrine Mendicant Delivers Justice. (p.844; 892-897; 921-925)

This one is cheating because it’s really ‘everything about PM’. I will give my heart to a paladin character with a big sword and strong ideals, any day – she will kill without a moment’s hesitation if it helps her fulfil her oath to the mail, but she’ll also reward a loyal follower who helps her cause, and this applies to robotic worms as much as it does to other people. She’s a minor character who’s out here behaving like a protagonist and one of her packages could be the thing that saves all the kids.

7. John’s Clever Disguise. (p.45-89)

I wish he was still wearing it. I really do. John acknowledges on page 46 that it’s a really shitty disguise and continues to wear it for several dozen pages. He adds the pipe, switches out the hat, considers a second pipe, and overall tries to perfect it. And he does it all the time too, because Rose calls him out on it! Whether he likes it or not, the spirit of the clown is within John, and I love this section as both a funny surface level gag and when thinking about the deeper meanings of a kid disguising himself in his own home.

6. Rose-Jade Flashback. (p.441-442)

This is my favorite Pesterlog in the comic so far, and sets up a really cool dynamic between Rose and Jade. They’re both talking circles around each other, Rose because she has to sound smart, detached, and in control, and Jade because she has to sound sunny, cryptic, and also in control. But Rose clearly has a lot of respect for Jade, and Jade clearly has a deep understanding of Rose, and those things are surprising – I expected Rose to be more skeptical of Jade’s powers, but instead they’re like light and dark counterparts with similar values of understanding the world around them.

5. Zazzerpan the Learned. (p.358-359)

This might be the one thing that holds Rose back from being my favorite character. How can she possibly ‘find this grisly abomination utterly detestable’. It’s a 20 foot tall statue of a mighty wizard and if you don’t think that’s the sickest shit in the entire world then WHAT is even the point. And the glimpses on page 715 and 757 showing the broken, future Zazzerpan indicate that something is going to happen to him; probably Rose with a giant bludgeoning weapon. Unless I cause a time paradox by appearifying him and putting him in MY house. (He would not fit).

4. Act 1&2 Title Cards. (p.82; 307)

The jokes are excellent, but to me Homestuck is at its best when it lets itself be serious, and page 82 is our first real glimpse of this. These pages let us sit with John and Rose’s mental states for a moment, and they let Hussie stretch their writing skills and play with words. My hope is that these pages will age really well and have a lot of foreshadowing in hindsight, but even if not, they create atmosphere better than any other moments in the comic so far, and they read like prose poetry.

His riddle is Absence itself. It is a mystery dispersing altogether, like the moon's faint reflection, with even one pebble of inquiry dropped in its black well.

Somewhere a zealous god threads these strings between the clouds and the earth, preparing for a symphony it fears impossible to play. And so it threads on, and on, delaying the raise of the conductor's baton.

3. FreshJamz and the Beta Kid Band. (p.77; 222; 337; 822; 830)

All four kids being musically gifted in a comic that incorporates sound is a great move, and the reveal that John can play piano beautifully after he’s spent 76 pages messing up his sylladex and house as he struggles to pick things up was a huge surprise at first. The four kids sharing an interest in video games would have been too obvious, but all of them loving music pokes at the fourth wall and gives them a way to connect on a deeper emotional level even while they are all hiding parts of themselves. It’s a big act of trust to share creative work with people, and seeing all the collaborations on Jade’s FreshJamz page is the best evidence of how close they all are.

2. Rose Adopts Vodka Mutini. (p.926; 1002)

Alright, I love cats. And I know that introducing a cute animal character is a cheap move for getting an audience to fall in love, but cmon, THIS kitten has FOUR EYES that BLINK SEQUENTIALLY and was made in a SLIME CHAMBER as a failed PARADOX CLONE. They CURL UP AND SNOOZE on Rose’s desk and become a TINY VOID CREATURE. I can’t be cynical about this. I am not immune to a tiny sweet face blinking up at me from an anachronistic teapot. I am screaming and crying with how badly I want this cat to curl up with me.

1. [S] WV: Ascend and [S] Jade: Pester John. (p.757; 1073)

I know I’m not alone in loving ‘WV: Ascend’; I’ve read several forum threads where people wax as rhapsodically about it as I do, and I was sad not to see as much love for ‘Jade: Pester John’ (maybe because it does similar work, so isn’t as unexpected). Both these pages are an expansion of what webcomics can do, they perfectly tie up existing plotlines, they’re really well scripted to the music, and it’s both rewarding and enjoyable to watch them several times in a row. ‘Explore’ is one of my favorite Homestuck tracks so far, and Skaia/Prospit during the eclipse is my favorite location visually. I know there’s a lot of skill and technique that goes into creating animations like this and making them feel emotional and satisfying to watch, but sometimes I don’t want to analyze them, I just want to sit and watch and let the Flash Magic roll over me.

Honorable Mentions. A few that were on the shortlist but didn’t quite make the cut because I made myself keep it to nine: the very first page (p.1), Rose putting the bunny back in the box (p.146-147), [S] John: Take bite of apple (p.246), Rose exploring her grimoire (p.301-305), John figuring out alchemy and successfully creating the pogo hammer (p.630-635), Rose attempting to send John the Sburb server CD (p.645-647), WV becoming the Mayor of Can Town (p.685), WV drawing the Skaian cosmology on the bunker walls (p.702-704), and the Midnight Crew’s Homestuck intermission (p.831-832). Yeah, I notice the blatant favoritism towards Rose and John in this post.

It wasn’t unknown that George was a dog person; he had spoken about it in interviews, listed them as his favourite animal in Grill the Grid episodes, and often would stop on walks to ask to pet a stranger’s dog. Getting a dog was always something he pushed to the back burner though: he had to focus on his career first, then he had to focus on his relationship with you, and then you started having a family and finding a balance between all three was a bit of a task in itself. There was just never a right time. George was sure it was going to happen eventually, and soon the time came where the two of you were discussing getting a pet. 

And then your daughter—at the ripe age of five—discovered cats. Everything became cats. Her bed was covered in cat stuffed animals, her kindergarten backpack had cartoon cats on it, every game of pretend involved cats, and on the daily she begged for a real kitten of her very own. There was no escaping it. George tried to get her to like dogs just as much but she was having none of it. It was cats or bust. He even took her to a cat café and everything just to see if she could get it out of her system but it ended with her emotionally attaching herself to one of the cats and begging and begging and begging to take it home with them.

There was no way he could justify getting a dog now…not until her obsession cooled off a bit or he would be deemed as public enemy #1 in his beloved daughter’s eyes. So, honestly, George wasn’t quite sure how it happened; ending up standing beside you in the pet store in front of the wall of kittens while the employee was talking to you both about a few of the best choices for a family with young kids. You asked all the right questions but George was hardly paying attention. He leaned in towards one of the kennels where a little grey kitten was peering up at him with big blue eyes. They stared at each other. 

George reached out a finger towards the glass and the kitten tried to jump at his finger to play but bonked her head off the glass and toppled backwards. George’s soft laugh had you glancing over at him. 

“Did you find one?” you asked him with a small knowing smile. 

George straightened up, looking between you and the employee, “Oh, no…I don’t think.”

“She’s a good option too.” the employee told you, smiling at the excitable kitten who was still trying to play with George no matter how many times she ran into the glass. “Very playful which would be good for young kids.”

“I think she’s a good option.” you then looked to George for his opinion. 

He sighed and stuffed his hands in his pockets, eyes lingering on the little kitten in the kennel who stared right back at him. He really did just want a dog…but the thought of your daughter’s reaction when getting a real cat for Christmas outweighed his personal disappointment. Finally, he nodded, and looked back at you, “Yeah, this one’s a good option.”

Keeping the kitten a surprise until Christmas was work and a half. George somehow managed to get his parents to agree to keep an eye on her until Christmas Eve, a week later, when he came by to pick her up. With you at home with the unsuspecting and fast asleep kids, George drove 30 minutes with the kitten in the passenger seat meowing her little lungs out wanting to escape her carrier. He had to admit…despite the noise, she was very cute. 

The kitten stayed in your room during the night and into the morning, waiting as your little family opened presents downstairs in the living room. Finally, when it was time, your children were sat on the couch for their last Christmas gift while George went upstairs to get it. They were nearly vibrating with excitement at the concept that they had a special gift that wasn’t even under the tree. With George upstairs, you cleared off the coffee table free of empty mugs and scrapped wrapping paper and gifts to give him a place to set the box when he returned. 

Soon, the children were faced with a sizable box wrapped in festive paper, too young and excited to even notice the little holes poked in the side. 

“Be gentle.” you told them as they started to rip open the paper like little maniacs.

Your son opened the top flaps of the cardboard box and the two of them peeked inside. One glance at the little grey kitten inside and your daughter was screaming.

“Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!” she shrieked, nearly throwing herself over the side of the box to grab the kitten. “It’s a kitty!”

“Gentle!” you and George warned at the same time with matching grins at the excitement of your children. 

“Is it for us?!” your son asked, his eyes wide with awe as his little sister scooped up the tiny grey kitten.

You smiled lightly, “Yes, it’s for you. Well, for our family.”

“I love it! Thank you, thank you!” your daughter shouted excitedly, holding up the squirmy kitten in her little hands, the biggest grin on her face, “You’re the best Mommy and Daddy ever!”

And suddenly, from that moment on, George swore he was a cat person all along.

There's a post going around post-election claiming that crisis lines will call police on you immediately and by default, and this person is responding to correction with hostility from an anti-therapy lens, creating fear and disillusionment.

I am a crisis responder (volunteer), and I'd like to clear things up. I'm in Canada, so I can't definitively speak on US crisis lines, but I can speak on Canadian ones.

Some safe crisis lines to contact are at the bottom of this post. TL;DR: We do not call police on people in crisis. We might call EMS.

1. We do not call police on you. If you say you're feeling suicidal, you are put at the front of the queue and given priority status & high risk status. We risk assess, learn about your situation, and then work together on bringing you down from your crisis to ensure you can keep yourself safe for at least 24 hours. We may contact paramedics/an ambulance if you inform us you have attempted suicide, or plan to within the next 24 hours. Not police. You can decline this at your own expense. If they are called, we stay on the line with you until they arrive.

We are legally required to risk assess everyone, and contact emergency services only if you inform us you've self-harmed more than intended, just attempted to end your life, or plan to within 24 hours. You can't seriously expect someone to sit by and do nothing upon telling them you just attempted -- everyone on earth would try to help you unless they're an inhumane monster.

A crisis line is NOT a wellness check. It's a safe, confidential, anonymous space for you to vent and get help (if you want it). Where I work, the only time police can be contacted (or you can be reported, rather) is if you admit to a crime. Being suicidal is not a crime. (CPS/APS can also be contacted on your behalf if you're being abused and under 19 or over 60, but you can decline this as well.)

2. Our job is to bring you to a calmer, safer state by listening with empathy, brainstorming coping skills (+safety plans) with you, and providing resources/links/websites for you to access after the conversation ends.

3. You can text crisis lines for more than suicidal thoughts, ideation, and attempts. You can talk about anything. You can vent and leave without a safety plan. It's what you're comfortable with.

4. You can end the conversation at any point. You are never forced into anything. You can close the web chat, reply STOP, or hang up at any time, or let us know you'd like to end the conversation and we can end it for you. _____________________________________

The first of the four designs from my 2022 Pride Line: Sacred Sappho, divine ancestor of women who love women.

Sappho, on the off chance that you don't know her, was a poet from the island of Lesbos in the Aegean Sea, who lived and wrote in the seventh and sixth centuries BCE. Her work was taught as a pinnacle of poetic skill for centuries, well into the Roman Empire, until - through a combination of censorship, neglect, and luck - it was lost to the ages. No contemporary biography survives, and we are left with mere scraps of her estimated 10,000 lines of poetry, but her work has been associated with sexual love between women since the Hellenistic period. Now, she and the island from which she came are virtually synonymous with queer women and their experiences.

The image is based on one of the few surviving images of Sappho, a black figure vase painting from the late 6th century BCE.

* Made of solid .925 sterling silver or shibuichi (an art metal alloy made of 3:1 copper:silver), yellow brass, or red bronze.

* Available as a coin, with an upeye for use as a pendant, or with three jump rings for use in a rosary-style necklace.

Each piece is hand-made to order in my home studio, with unique variations and defects as a result of the fabrication and casting process.

So about those Lady Sheaffers...

This is my collection.

This is a model IX, Red Balicon. (Nobody knows why it's called "Balicon", so if any of you folks know what that means, please tell me!) I love the contrast between the glossy gold and the red engraved lines. I'm also super pleased to have the box it came in.

These two are both Paisleys, models IV (black) and VI (periwinkle). The nibs are silver-palladium Triumph nibs. The engraving really does give the impression of fabric, and has a nice texture in the hand.

These three are from the later Lady Sheaffer line in the 1970s. From left to right: 632, 921, and 925. (Collectors call them Tulle, Chevron/Flammé, and Barleycorn.) The nibs on these are called Stylpoint and are 14k gold.

The left one is mesmerizing when you turn it in your hands. The other two are almost gaudy they're so bright. Definitely eye-catching pens!

Also I gotta show you this box, the one the Balicon came in. Have you ever seen something more Mid-Century Modern in your life? The ivory plastic, the pebbly texture, the gently curved lines. The way it sort of floats off the table, and the inset section at the front. And like a brooch, a tiny golden symbol in the shape of Sheaffer's signature inlaid nib. Some designer spent ages on this thing and it shows. I love it.

If you like small, slim fountain pens, definitely look up the Lady Sheaffer. For some reason they're not heavily collected, so folks aren't driving up the price. They're cartridge pens so there's no mechanism that needs servicing, and Sheaffer still makes the cartridges.

Unless you like your pens plain and understated, in which case I can't help you. Every model they made is jewelry!

Aranion (original king of the Abyssal Kingdoms) is the grandson of Melkor/Fluithin on one side and grandson of Ungoliant on the other (his parents were a Balrog Valarindi and a Spawn of Ungoliant)

Arcana is basically the wizard equivalent of a combination of Nature (with, of course, a NYT-bestsellers-list-style list of newly invented spells for wizards to scribe)

Curuquendi is a magazine more focused on the actual wizards

Wish Upon the Stars is like Nat Geo for celestial magic

These three publications are my main ideas for implementing Magic History Lore Drops

Akasmenel (human, immortal), Luthad (elf), Eglor (birdfolk, lich), Nogard (human, immortal) are the Famous Wizards

Arion is the Famous Paladin

Zirak (dwarf) would be a Famous Wizard, but the dwarf went into hiding two months after the dwarf became famous bc the dwarf wanted people to stop bothering them

Zirak is also the reason the hidden dwarven cities are impossible to find

Romeval is Magic MIT. Archmages are the equivalent of PhDs

Elinyel is the campaign villain

Finellach is the OC twin brother of Gil-galad, invented to explain yet another layer of why Gil's origin is so muddy and why he has so many names he doesn't use. He's Maglor's son and the ancestor of Elinyel.

Bronweg is reskinned Feanor but it's ok bc none of my players have read the Silm (I also gave them Anglachel as a cursed sword and Aeglos as a magic spear)

Laehwin & Laehwael are twins and also the Famous Wizards of their generation. Laehwin is the monarch of one of the most powerful and most neutral kingdoms on the continent. Laehwael is secretly a lich and also faked their death. Laehwin knows this. Laehwin is covering it up. Laehwael is embezzling.

Laehwael invented magical printing (before becoming a lich). Laehwin invented the magic printing press.

Laehwin founded ORVA (Magic Microsoft) and bankrolls Laehwael's evil lich lair. Laehwael's accountant/martial lieutenant/spy originally worked at ORVA.

Ringa/Tyelve and Lae/Nirim 100% planned their wedding dates to get that pre-battle AC bonus from Ceremony

Archatur Luthad is a prestigious magic tournament/gameshow named after Luthad. Luthad probably would not approve but hey they're not around to object anymore so eh

One miniboss of the previous arc (a glacial golem) was the subject of Carnixe's Archmage dissertation. His dissertation defense was a practical demonstration.

Laehwael invented simulacrum rats to test new spells on

Laehwael accidentally killed another famous mage they were working with while trying to fake their own death

the White Pearl is a magic slightly-Treelight-having (think arkenstone/galadriel hair/fingolfin eyes level) pearl from Alqualonde that's needed to break the Doors of Night

the three established planets in the setting are this one, one containing wild beyond the witchlight + sword coast (where the rogue comes from), and Arda (hence Maglor, Melkor, and a random Telerin pearl featuring heavily in the lore)

the setting uses the Rivendell calendar. I don't know why I decided that. Calculating elf months is really annoying.

Carp is the rogue's half-hobbit half-eladrin cousin. Carp's great grandfather is an Archfey lord.

The Feywild is the setting of Errantry. Carp's great grandfather resides in Aerie

if the party dies in the final boss fight, they get instantly revived because oh look! Dagorath! and the backup final boss fight is Melkor

the party found character sheets and a dice jail in one boss lair. Dice jail labeled "Somebody's phylactery" and "dice used as emergency Imprisonment token. Angry archlich inside. DO NOT TOUCH". said dice contains Eglor, the Famous Wizard who created the floating islands of the birdfolk kingdom and invented lichdom

the evil DND group (Angaraxan, Laehwael, Carnixe, Laitanirim, Escelin, Tyelvere, and later Serkelex) fought and captured Eglor after he resurrected in the middle of their battlemap due to phylactery dice shenanigans

I wrote an entire setting and basic system for the in-world DND. I don't know why. The party will never encounter it unless they specifically investigate Angaraxan's session prep.

in-world fantasy races include fairies, centaurs, merfolk, harpies, and Numenorean dancing bears

the class ability system is based on medieval humours

Carnixe (ice construct wizard boss) made custom minis for all the players that move one inch when poked

Angaraxan (artificer boss who invented lightbulbs and gunpowder, not in that order) makes his own boss minis. they are fully functional. the dragons breathe real fire.

Lae (lich boss) plays Robert Snidge the human hunter, and previously Perry the dancing bear monk

Nirim (sorc boss) plays Snimber Snidge the gnome warlock

Robert Snidge is Snimber's adopted brother who joined the party after the tragic death of Perry of Tompollë

Serkelex (vamp miniboss, Lae's minion) plays Half N Half the hobbit-centaur

Their last campaign's final battle took place on an actual dragon skull (which is now Lae's wall decoration)

Over the years they've developed idle animations and special effects for all their minis

I should really make them discover Snimber Snidge at some point

luckily for them the party had the sense to not fiddle with the lich dice (though the monk did attempt to eat a bottle of sovereign glue later on)
