SCRIPTURE:

The sailors tried to abandon the ship by lowering the lifeboat into the sea, pretending they were going to lower anchors from the bow.  Paul said to the centurion and his soldiers, “Unless they stay in the ship, you can’t be saved from peril.” ~ Acts of the Apostles 27:30-31

OBSERVATION:

Knowing what I'm s'posed to do - and not do - and yet doing what I want with "plausible deniability"...

...rationalizing my behavior and wants with an excuse that sometimes even I believe...

...and then being "called out" by my conscience - the Holy Spirit...

APPLICATION:

Quit pretending...

Stay "in the ship..."

"...be saved from peril..."

PRAYER:

Saving Father - I seek Your forgiveness for making excuses and going ahead on things I know aren't within Your will - Thank You for this gift of confession and repentance - May I not take it for granted - In Jesus's Name, and for Your worshipful praise and glory in all I do...
