i genuinely hate how people have to sit and write a post that stands out while boosting a fundraiser because most people won't bat an eye at the misery and inhumane conditions Palestinians are living in.

i see people making art and telling others to use it because fundraisers with art are generally reblogged more often. i see people using colored text in order to make the post more eye catching.

palestinians on instagram are using popular audios and stitch trending reels at the beginning to make the world pay attention to them. imagine having to make something look entertaining in order to survive.

they are living under constant threat of israeli airstrikes, bombing, scarcity of food and disease. many have lost a lot in the past few months.

palestinians on tumblr are posting their pictures and the horrible conditions in which they are living. they travel long distances for internet connection only to be called a scammer by some privileged ass who cannot locate gaza on a map.

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

"one thing my mama always taught me is to love your friends and neighbors like they're your brothers and sisters." he shrugged and smiled. "we might not be related—which is probably a good thing since i've definitely kissed a few of you—but y'all are my family. so, this one's for my... well, all of you."

sugar motta x family

sugar is the miracle child of al and amina motta. after several rounds of failed ivf, her parents had given up their dream of having a child, but from the moment amina saw two pink lines, sugar has been the center of their universe. she struts around like a queen 👑 because her parents have always treated her like a princess - offering her not just material things (though she's awfully fond of those), but unconditional love and support. sugar has her daddy wrapped around her little finger and knows that he would do anything to 1) protect her, and 2) make her happy 💖. while her mom wants both things just as much, she hopes that sugar becomes a tiny bit more aware of the value of a dollar. that lesson hasn't quite kicked in yet.

she doesn't have a lot of other family, but the motta family has a live-in housekeeper/former-nanny who has been with them since sugar was seven, and sugar thinks the world of rose 🦸‍♀️. she also has a few "uncles" who are often around spending time with her dad and who sugar depends on for life advice... and pietro 🔥, who she can't bring herself to call an uncle because he's young and far too hot 🤷‍♀️.
