Nope. My aunt was going to use my name for my cousin, but didn't like how it sounded with his last name so she let my mom have it xD

One, a miniature lionhead rabbit named Chewbacca Eliza Hamilbun. She's a brat and I love her.

Your comics are cool. Have you seen the dog spirit aralez? I think you would like it. It’s an old Armenian myth. I grew up hearing stories about them and ara mountain. They’re spirits that take the shape of winged dogs, descending onto the battlefield to revive fallen and injured soldiers by licking their faces.

They appear in the story of ara the beautiful. The story of ara the beautiful goes like this. Well, there’s tons of different versions, but I was raised with this one.

Ara the beautiful was an Armenian king, who was prettier than all others. The queen shamiram fell in love with him, but he refused her advances. In retaliation, she rallied her troops against Armenia. She won the battle, but ara died in battle. Shamiram was devastated. Shamiram brought ara up the mountain (later named ara’s mountain) for him to be revived by the aralez, but they never came. But shamiram didn’t want any more war with Armenia, and knew they’d want to avenge their leader. So she disguised her lover as ara, and told the Armenians that he’d been brought back to life, avoiding the war.

Something about the story reminds me of your comics. In a good way. The tragedy of ara dying for the simple reason that he didn’t love shamiram. The tragedy of shamiram accidentally causing the death of the one person she wanted alive. The tragedy of the spirits choosing not to come. The ending, which is bittersweet: a war is avoided, through deception. Or maybe it’s just something about flying dogs. Whatever it is, it’s wonderful, and reminds me of your art.I hope you have a wonderful day.

I've never heard of this story and I like it a lot, thank you for sharing it. I have some old stories lined up for we go together, but I might do some research into this and draw it sometime in the future! I'm really flattered you think something this interesting has the same vibe as my stuff

5. What do you wish someone would ask you about [insert fic]? Answer it now!

I get a lot of questions about Darling and the guys, but very few comments or inquiries about her history. It's not mentioned in the story as much, so maybe that's why, but I've tried to allude to it. I've always wanted someone to ask me about Darling's previous relationships and how her previous partners treated her. The answer would be: yes Darling has had previous partners, and yes they've left her with some trauma. She's never been physically abused but I would consider some of her experiences to be emotional abuse, and I think those partners made an impact on how she functions in her current relationship.

37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?

I think about In the Woods constantly. I've lost Dream's voice so it remains unfinished but I had so many exciting ideas for that fic. The story I built in my head is insane, and that's what I like about it. I hope one day I'll be able to get it all out.

He also makes sure to point out pieces that he thinks will be to your taste and the two of you grab some snacks from some food stalls too.

♡ should you start to feel sleepy, you'll return to his home where he has afternoon tea set up for you and you can have a more slow-paced date cuddled up and reading Shakespeare.

Residents of Proserpina Park is a fun and entertaining edutainment audio drama that teaches listeners about creatures from World Mythology and Folklore. This is my review.

Do you love mythology and folklore? Do you enjoy learning about mythical creatures in a fun and entertaining way? Do you like audio fiction? Well, then allow me to introduce you to @proserpinapark

Residents of Proserpina Park begins with a frame story. It begins with our unarmed narrator listening to some recordings that her brother gave her. They're made by a young woman named Alina, who is investigating rumors of a mysterious secret park, known as Proserpina Park. It's part of an assignment for journalism class. Alina found more than she bargained for. Turns out, Proserpina Park is a sanctuary for all the mythical creatures from across World Mythology and Folklore. Fortunately, she's not exploring the park alone. Alina meets a guy named Sam, who is something of a park resident himself. Each episode sees Alina learn more about the various creatures who call Proserpina Park their home.

I'd argue that, in many ways, Residents of Proserpina Park is an edutainment show. It sets out to tach listeners about different mythological creatures in a fun and entertaining way. Most episodes follow roughly same format; Alina will arrive at the park, meet Sam, and then Sam will tell her about a new creature, and explain the creature's origins and mythological significance. Usually, the recordings end right before Alina and Sam go to actually see the creature in question. Though, later episodes do shake up the format a bit. Alina starts exploring the park on her own, and bringing friends along, something Sam tells her she must never do. Some creatures, particularly the ones with human-level intelligence, do also make on-screen, for lack of a better way of putting it, appearances.

You get familiar creatures such as kappa or the Jersey Devil. However, you also get lesser known and more off the beating path creatures. For example, there’s the Aralez from Armenian Mythology. They're large dogs with feathery wings, and can heal people simply by licking them. There’s also the Bulgae. They're dogs from Korean Mythology who chase the sun and moon across the sky. When one of them bites the sun, it causes an eclipse.

Season 1 was absolutely fantastic. Episodes are typically about eleven or twelve minutes, so season one is easily bingeable. And I would strongly advise you to do so as quickly as possible if you haven't already.

Aralezes (arm.Արալեզ) are Armenian dog-like mythological creatures or spirits, who lived on the Mount Ararat. Armenians believed that aralezes descended from the sky to lick the wounds of fallen heroes so that they could ressurect. Aralezes were often praised with Ara The Beutiful and Shamiram in Old Armenia.

Mythology AU post no one asked for!

In this AU, all of the animatronics are creatures based on folklore and mythology and are a mix of things that are obvious choices and not so obvious. The characters all live in a forested mountain that humans have yet to learn how to scale and any attempts to do so are typically thwarted by those that live there if not by their inability to climb it in the first place.

So what is everybody?

Freddy is an escaped circus bear. I couldn’t find any interesting mythological bears so he gets more of a backstory to him than the others do. He’s a regular bear that escaped from the Fazbear Circus that was held at the foot of the mountain, possibly unintentionally freed by a certain pair of reckless flyers we’ll get to in a minute. He saw his chance and ran for the hills, still wearing his circus neck ruffles and what not. He just happened to scale a bit of the mountain and make some magic friends that just kinda picked him up and decided he’s their friend now. He is very happy about this arrangement because honestly fuck the Fazbear Circus.

Bonnie is a Wolpertinger (or a Jackalope. I’ve been alternating on this lately) and that means he is a rabbit/hare, with antlers and wings. He was born and raised on these mountains or the mountain adjacent maybe and lives in a really big warren. Also possibly has fangs? I will leave that to interpretation.

Chica is a gryphon, a mix of big cat and big bird. She’s a mix of leopard and kinda chicken I guess and is one of the reckless flyers that may have freed Freddy from the circus. She’s very close with everyone and can make a fun collection of both bird and leopard noises.

Foxy was supposed to not be a kitsune but the best I could find for him was a Chinese Fox Spirit so that is what he is. Got a bunch of tails and does cool paranormal stuff. His tricks only escalate in this AU he can do so much more stuff now. Still has a fun accent though because I said so and its fun

Monty is a Western dragon so not the serpent kind. Can breathe fire and is a very strong flyer. He’s from a different mountain and is a bit of a wanderer in the Gatorbun fic. He’s got horns and his scales aren’t as protective as they probably should be. Also has a big fluffy red mane and deep green and yellow scales with an extra tuft of fluff at the end of his tail.

Roxy is an Aralez, which is an unspecified dog with wings, said to be able to revive people left on the mountains by licking their wounds to heal them. The most obvious option would have been a hellhound but I found this and thought it would be much more interesting and handy in plots. She’s the other reckless flyer that possibly freed Freddy from the circus and like Chica, is always getting caught up in human traps here there and everywhere. She’s either a winged wolf or a winged husky or something it doesn’t particularly matter she’s still Roxy whether she be a domestic dog or a wild one.

Sunny and Moon are both Cat-sìth's. One blesses those that are nice to them and the other causes problems on purpose. Sometimes they switch for fun. They’re basically just extra fun cats that can do cool things like Foxy can.

DJ Music Man is the equivalent of the Loch Ness Monster. He’s this big ass water monster that lives in the lake on this mountain and the minis are his little sea serpent buddies. He made friends with Freddy, Chica or Roxy who fell in the lake maybe and now the group hang out more at the lake and sing together. DJ doesn’t speak so they nickname him Melody because he loves playing melodies on big conch shells and stuff. All the little serpents have similar nicknames too.

Vanessa is a cabbit which is apparently a mix between a rabbit and a cat. I chose this mostly because I didn’t know it was a thing and it sounded fun. I also wanted to include her so here she is! A cabbit!

Humans - particularly the Fazbear Circus - are always trying to catch an actual rare creature and not just a big ol’ bear so they set up a lot of traps to catch them much closer to the foot of the mountain. Which is why the number one rule is not to go down the mountain. This is often ignored by many of the flying creatures.

This is just a fun lil AU I’ll dabble in every so often because its fun so I thought I’d make a little post about it. Enjoy!

Also an idea I got was if Viney was like, a decendant of a shapeshifter, but only could shape shift into 2 forms, a satyr deer form and a centaur deer form, just ideas!

Nobody knows what the hell Barcus is but the current running theory is that he was a human transformed into a dog. He refuses to say bc he finds the entire thing absolutely hilarious and he just stares blankly at any theory given to him. he sneaks in messages between the monsters & the castle bc he can easily play off as a weird looking dog

By day, the Apothecarie, located in North Las Vegas, offered a variety of crystals, herbal pulstices, and “genuine love potions” that would let a visitor return home saying they did something a bit different than the usual Vegas scene.

THE CASINO

Jade had been kicked out of several casinos over the last few years.

ROAD TRIP

Jade tried to focus on the star pattern laid out before her, willing a vision to come to her. The only thing that appeared was one all too familiar. A burst of light, and heat, all-encompassing heat.

THE CLERK’S OFFICE

“This doesn’t make any sense.”

THE ROCK GIANTS

Jade pulled up outside Caz’s condo to see him exiting with a suitcase and a cooler.

MIRAGES AND MEMORIES

Caz crashed as soon as he got home, sleeping in until almost 10 p.m. After a late breakfast he stepped onto his balcony. A popping noise echoed through the night and a small bat appeared in his place, flitting into the dark sky.

GOOD OL’ BOYS

Sydney Arravich was waiting for the shitty hospital food as he flipped through channels on the minuscule television in the corner.

HENBANE AND ROSE PETALS

Jade pulled up to the ranch house. A metal windmill and green barn sat in the background. A strikingly all-black rooster with iridescent plumage strolled through the yard.

THE NIGHT CLUB

Jade parked her car on the street and walked awkwardly up to the club. Caz was waiting out front in his usual ensemble.

THE STAKEOUT

Lila and Caz waited underneath the canopy at the camp. It was fortunately a moonless night, with the only light coming from Lila’s phone as she skipped through songs on a playlist.

VICES

Caz practically crawled his way home, budging his way through the French doors on his balcony and passing out on the coach.

THE HEALER MIX

Jade tossed the dice. A three and a four.

THE ARALEZ

The Apothecarie drew its fair share of tourists. While not the usual appeal of Vegas, the city offered the alternative types their tarot cards, crystals and various herbs and incense. Ember was always glad when he could flip the sign to close and get back to his book.

RETURN OF THE PRINCE

Jade was crossing the campus on her way to TA a class when she stopped suddenly, staring at a palm tree.

THE HAG AND THE BLOODSUCKER

Kobalos Katsaros had seen quite a few horrifying things in coming to discover who his father was. But even he knew to avoid the tunnels under Sandhill.

THE FIRES OF MOUNT PYROSIS

Jade tapped her hands on the booth’s table.

CAZ AND BROOKS

Brooks parked at the playground near a grove of trees and a wastebasket overflowing with cigarette butts and beer cans.

THANKSGIVING

Jade was still at the poker table when Ruby came up to her. She barely glanced up.

BLACK FRIDAY

While he had gone to bed satisfied, Caz woke up in the middle of the afternoon to some discomfort. The vomiting had left him dehydrated and the pint of blood hadn’t been enough. Stretching and smacking his cottony mouth, he threw on his robe and headed to the kitchen.

FATHER’S DAUGHTER

Brooks sat down at the bar and ordered a drink when he saw a dark-haired woman approach him.

THE RESCUE

Caz grimaced as he attempted to pull out another bullet from his foot. The packaging for the set of tweezers he had bought up front sat nearby on the bench.

THE AFTERMATH

Violet leaned back against the worn seat cover as the truck’s motions gently rocked her.

AAAHHHH! THIS CAME SO GOOD! To clarify, she is my OC for Star Wars Rebels. Note, in her fanfiction, she did NOT have this outfit. The scarf and color palette, yes, but her clothes were a blue sweater, dark gray leggings, black and dark gray buckle boots after the events on Malachor. When she was a Padawan, she had the standard Jedi attire. When she first met the Rebels, her cloak was a dark denim blue. I chose this outfit because I love how it looks on her and I might use it in a fanfiction I’m writing. (click image for better quality)

“Name’s Zelara June. Nice to meet you all.”

Anyways, this is Zelara June, known as the Wolf Jedi. She was orphaned at 6 when her parents were murdered by an Inquisitor. Her master was named Crowvern, who was actually a Sith in disguise. Escaping to Lothal, Zelara met Atlas, a Loth-wolf. He took her in and together with the rest of the Loth-wolf pack, they took down any problems that surfaced on Lothal. After 3 years, she met the Rebel Crew and joined them upon Atlas’s recommendation.

Zelara is a very disciplined and well-respected young woman. She is mature, sassy, clever, witty, strong-willed, caring, and compassionate. She will lay down her life for the Rebels if the situation were to arise. She has an alter ego named Aralez. Aralez looks and acts like Zelara, but her hair is silver, her eyes are ice blue, and she has wolf ears and a tail. Zelara is very sociable and can make friends easily. A lot of the allies the Rebel Crew has is thanks to her and her connections.

PATHFINDERS - The Sylph Summoner

Update from the PF2E Remaster coming in late 2023: Genies native to the Plane of Air are now know as Jaathooms, due to Pathfinder trying to distance itself from the OGL.

I don't really know if I'm right about that, but the Summoner is one of Pathfinder's unique classes, both First and Second Edition, being a spellcaster linked to an eidolon, an extraplanar being that allows it to cast powerful spells, acting like a true pair in combat, with the eidolon being either a simple servant or a friend or even a spiritual guide for the summoner, whose link only becomes stronger and stronger over learning for both.

Having my younger sister as a summoner next to our crazy pooch as an angel eidolon - connected to outer planes like Elysium, Nirvana or Heaven -, I also chose her to be a sylph, which, like naaris and undines, has ancestry drawn from the Elemental Planes, being the sylphs more connected to the beings of the Air, like belkers, cloud dragons and, in her case, to the jaathooms, the genies of the Plane of the Air, which are also the most easily recognizable by us - Aladdin's Genie, for example, was a jaathoom. Both her weapon and the colors of her clothes show that she would be a devotee of Desna, the Song of the Spheres, that perhaps my sister would not follow just because her symbol is a butterfly, and she has motophobia - phobia of butterflies and moths. To turn our dog into an eidolon, I was inspired by the Aralezes, kind spirits from Armenian mythology, who revive fallen warriors with licks.
