I used to wonder what held me together when I had nothing
Even at my low there was always something
The angels around lick my wounds
They tell me to wake up it's time to be you
It's time to love again it's time to fight
It might be dark but you light up the night
You'll never know how much they love you and that's why you put all things above you
And you know too much so you doubt yourself
But they were the ones keeping your heaven out of hell
And I'm sorry for all the times they tried to break you down but the bitters in your belly made you stronger now
And you're stronger than you've ever been
You deadlift the world right into heaven

New oc- Xiris!
more information below/story below⬇️
Xiris is a mix. They don’t classify into any specific branch of mythological beast or creature. From a young age, they were on their own. Their mother, a harpy, was killed when they were only about eight. But because of a disconnect of a relationship with their mother, the loss doesn’t affect them as much as it should. Soon after, they landed in a small, urban town on the outskirts of New Jersey. For food, they ate pets and animals and scavenge any trashcans they come across in the neighborhood/town. Quickly enough, a “paranormal expert” (aka, a weird kid who is obsessed with paranormal) named Robin takes a notice to the considerable amount of squirrels, dogs, and cats gone missing. Including his cat, Miles. But Miles isn’t dead, funnily. Xiris took interest and curiosity into matter when they came across the fat, chubby calico. And soon enough, the furry friend became Xiris’ companion. They went the extra mile to scavenge for more edible food for Miles. Even if it goes farther than just rummaging through trashcans and killing pets. Xiris got more reckless with finding food, snapping Chinese food right out of people’s hands at night, and even breaking into a house. More specifically, Robin’s.
anyway, that’s it so far, I think I might pursue this story but I’m not too sure

Just some thoughts on turning 30 under the cut cuz it finally hit me this morning xD
I spent most of the past week looking back on all that has happened in the last decade. In my early twenties, I was in the middle of the hardest and worst years of my life to date, caught in a mire of depression and anxiety and mental and emotional abuse. I didn’t think I would survive to see college graduation, forget 30, and yet here we are. It’s a shocking and also heartening realization that contrary to popular belief (at the time), I’ve made it this far, and am still going.
It almost feels like I spent my middle and late twenties recovering from the trauma of my early twenties. Those later years were not without troubles, but nowhere near the awfulness of my late teens/early twenties. Being proud of myself is something I struggle with, recognizing the value of my accomplishments is something I struggle with. So maybe if I write down the highlights of the last decade, it’ll sink in:
I've had 3 different jobs
I fulfilled my dreams of studying in England and performing at the renaissance faire
I left the toxic hell hole of the musical theatre department to finish my degree in history
I came out as bisexual
I graduated college, adopted my bunny, and met Mr Aralez in the same year
Came out again, this time trans nonbinary
Got to fight captain for 3 shakespeare shows
Played my first leading role
Got back into ballet and got my first pair of pointe shoes
Got diagnosed with ADHD and narcolepsy in the same summer, the treatment for both significantly improving my quality of life
These are all great things, but the years where I just survived matter just as much. I wonder what's next for me, and am actually excited to find out

5 and 37 for the fic writer asks please 💖💜
Aralez you’re an angel 🖤
5. What do you wish someone would ask you about [insert fic]? Answer it now!
I get a lot of questions about Darling and the guys, but very few comments or inquiries about her history. It's not mentioned in the story as much, so maybe that's why, but I've tried to allude to it. I've always wanted someone to ask me about Darling's previous relationships and how her previous partners treated her. The answer would be: yes Darling has had previous partners, and yes they've left her with some trauma. She's never been physically abused but I would consider some of her experiences to be emotional abuse, and I think those partners made an impact on how she functions in her current relationship.
37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?
I think about In the Woods constantly. I've lost Dream's voice so it remains unfinished but I had so many exciting ideas for that fic. The story I built in my head is insane, and that's what I like about it. I hope one day I'll be able to get it all out.

As an Armenian person, I feel compelled every once in a while to Google things. And boy oh boy have I stumbled on something.
So as you may know (by scrolling through my blog) I’ve recently been obsessed with iwtv, where one of the main characters (Daniel molloy) is played by Armenian actor/writer Eric Bogosian.
And while having a shower I had a shower thought (shocker, I know) and it led to me going down a mental rabbit hole wondering if there was armenian folklore or vampires (there is) and it led to me writing this post at 1:02 am on a work night.
Armenian vampires (dakhanavar), are vampires that only attack travellers (not locals) and will stalk their prey until they rest for the night and will suck their blood from their feet.
Imagine if they make a foot fetish joke in the show. This is the perfect way to incorporate it.
Anyways, thanks for following along.
Also, other cool piece of armenian folklore is the dog god Aralez who licks fallen soldiers back to life. How cool is that!?

Your comics are cool. Have you seen the dog spirit aralez? I think you would like it. It’s an old Armenian myth. I grew up hearing stories about them and ara mountain. They’re spirits that take the shape of winged dogs, descending onto the battlefield to revive fallen and injured soldiers by licking their faces.
They appear in the story of ara the beautiful. The story of ara the beautiful goes like this. Well, there’s tons of different versions, but I was raised with this one.
Ara the beautiful was an Armenian king, who was prettier than all others. The queen shamiram fell in love with him, but he refused her advances. In retaliation, she rallied her troops against Armenia. She won the battle, but ara died in battle. Shamiram was devastated. Shamiram brought ara up the mountain (later named ara’s mountain) for him to be revived by the aralez, but they never came. But shamiram didn’t want any more war with Armenia, and knew they’d want to avenge their leader. So she disguised her lover as ara, and told the Armenians that he’d been brought back to life, avoiding the war.
Something about the story reminds me of your comics. In a good way. The tragedy of ara dying for the simple reason that he didn’t love shamiram. The tragedy of shamiram accidentally causing the death of the one person she wanted alive. The tragedy of the spirits choosing not to come. The ending, which is bittersweet: a war is avoided, through deception. Or maybe it’s just something about flying dogs. Whatever it is, it’s wonderful, and reminds me of your art.I hope you have a wonderful day.
I've never heard of this story and I like it a lot, thank you for sharing it. I have some old stories lined up for we go together, but I might do some research into this and draw it sometime in the future! I'm really flattered you think something this interesting has the same vibe as my stuff
I hope you have a good day too!!

OKAY NOW I NEED SOMEONE TO DRAW THIS
Like he wraps his cloak around you and you close your eyes so it just looks like you’re just dozing on his lap and he’s rubbing his hand up and down your back
But really you’re trying to stay calm and keep your breathing even cuz he’s throbbing and twitching inside you
K.kkkkk I've had a delicious Thot. Imagine cockwarming dream on his throne just relaxing, and either his subjects or people from other realms come in for an audience unexpectedly and he just has to deal with whatever they're here for, listening to their complaints/requests/monologuing all while having you wrapped around him so nicely
NOT GONNA LIE THIS IS MY FAV THING
Like it started out as a little fun until Dream said he must deal with requests so you try to leave (thinking that’s what he wants) until he grabs your hips and sink you down on his cock
“No, you can stay right here, my love,” Dream purred.
“Dream,” you gasped as he adjusted him.
Your back slumped into his chest. Your head dropped back onto his shoulder as you tried to calm your racing heart.
“Relax,” he whispered into your ear. He smirked to himself seeing how responsive you are. “Subjects will be here soon.”
Your body flushed thinking of people seeing you. You squirmed. Dream’s hands gripped your hips tightly.
“Don’t worry, no one will see a thing. All they will see is their king and his precious mortal on his lap.”
You let out a shaky breath.
“Now, behave and sit still, yes?”
“Yes,” you whined.
“Good girl.”

A few Christian depictions of a creature that reminds me somewhat of the Iranian or Persian Senmurv (Simurgh):
Fig. 2. Detail from the external party of the church of the Holy Cross, Alt’amar.
Fig. 3. Detail from the painted cycle inside the church of the Holy Cross, Alt’amar.
Dated to around the time of the Armenian kingdom of Vaspurakan (189 BCE–428 CE).
And here is some representations of the Simurgh (or ‘pseudo-Simurgh’):
Image #1: Senmurv on a silver dish/plate, Sogdian/Sassanid, 7th century CE.
Image #2 (Fig. 2.): Senmurv, roundel on a bronze plate. Sassanid (from present day Mazanderan). From around the 5th century CE.
There is also something to be said concerning another mythoglical creature in Armenian mythology, a winged dog known as ‘arléz’ or ‘aralez’, who in chronicles by Movsēs Xorenac'i and others, has the power to heal wounds and resurrect the dead.
