I don’t actually ship syd with anyone. I just love black women and seeing them get everything their hearts desire and more, but if everyone else believes character x or y loves them I will support it with all my heart like it pertains to me personally.

Ive just started watching sleepy hollow with my mom (we're at season 2) and I absolutely love this show, especially the relationship between Abby and Ichabod. The amount of communication, care and respect they show toward each other is really refreshing. Also, man/woman friendship in wich they say how much they care for the other one on a regular basis without ambiguity, it's so rare!
And the dub in french is really good too! (My mom can't understand english so we watch it in french)

For anyone who actually remembers the show Harper’s Island.
I was OBSESSED when this first came out and I’ve rewatched it so many times.
Well I had my boyfriend watch it since he’s never seen it and can someone tell me why on the FIRST episode did he guess the killer? Like he wasn’t sure but he goes “well he’d be a real plot twist, you just wouldn’t expect it” and now I am MAD. So I’m just waiting to get to the episode where Henry is revealed and I just know he is going to be so proud of himself and it just hurts my soul since I would have never guessed it was Henry when the show first aired.

After some time, Henry goes into the room to check on Jennifer, "You okay now?" He asks her, so she just looks up at him.
"Taking it as Abby isn't adjusting well due to all the noise."
"Not as well as you did. I have some news... Jimmy and Sully agreed to sign a full confession. But they won't sign it unless they get to say goodbye to you and Abby. I just told her as well." He puts his hand out to help her to get up so she looks at it, "Come on. I'm not going to hurt you, Jen."
"Henry, if you could... would you have done this all a different way without killing people?" She takes his hand as he pulls her to stand up.
"No... there was no other way because they would all still be in the way." He sighs looking her in the eyes.
"You know, it wouldn't have taken much to get me. You know how close we were before coming here. I would've done anything for you then, Hen."
"And we're still close, Jen." He motions for her to leave the room with him, so she does.
They wait downstairs till Abby joins them, and he walks them to the guys. Abby goes to Jimmy, and when Jennifer was going to go over to Sully, Henry stops her, "One at a time." He tells her.
Abby apologizes to Jimmy for leaving him, and she kisses him. Henry becomes jealous and pulls her away from Jimmy. Henry slaps Abby when she tells him she loves Jimmy, making her fall to the ground.
Henry panics, feeling bad for hitting her, so Jennifer makes a run for it, so Abby stabs him in the foot with an awl before running out too. Henry chases them, grabbing the boarding knife on his way out.
After Henry leaves, Jimmy pulls the nail Abby slipped him out from under his tongue and used it to pick the lock on his handcuffs.
"Are you even capable of running?" Jimmy helps Sully get loose.
"I don't care if I die as long as I can protect her from Henry." Sully tells him, "I'm sorry for-,"
Jimmy cuts him off, "It's good, dude. We got to help the girls." He tells him and they go after the others, with Sully moving slightly slower.
Jennifer comes to a cliff and soon Abby almost runs into her but Jennifer stops them from falling off. Henry catches up to them and Abby concludes that Henry told Jimmy and Sully, he'd kill them unless they signed a confession. Henry denies it, stating he would die without them.
"Really? Then why do you have the boarding knife?" Jennifer says as she and Abby hold onto each other's arms.
Henry tosses it over the edge, "There. Now do you believe me? You two and this island are my home. The only thing that makes sense to me."
"None of this makes sense." Jennifer walks towards him and Abby tries to stop her but Jennifer knew he wouldn't hurt her, "You destroyed everything we love? You killed Abby's dad, our friends. Now you want to take Jimmy from us and Sully from me."
"BUT YOU HAVE ME!"
"WE DON'T WANT YOU!" She screams back at him and she can see how hurt he was so she steps closer, "You ruined everything, Hen. You ruined us for this." She tears up as he steps closer to her, and Sully comes running at them, tackling Henry off the edge.
Henry reached for Jennifer so Jimmy runs over pulling her back so he goes over the edge with the two.
Jennifer rushes to get down before Abby, rushing over to Sully first only because he was in bad shape compared to Jimmy, "You break anything else?" She asks him.
"I don't think so." He groans as Abby goes to Jimmy, asking if he was okay. "Jen," Sully sees Henry walking towards them.
"Jennifer!" Abby tosses the boarding knife to her, so she runs it through Henry's stomach, feeling bad deep down.
Jennifer's hands shake, looking at where she impaled him before looking back up at him with tears in her eyes, "Jenny." They both go down to their knees.
"I-I..." She cries to him because he was her best friend after all. She did love him, but it wasn't in the same way as his love for her and Abby. "Hen," She sees the hurt in his eyes.
"But... I love you."
"I love you too." She barely whispers as he slowly dies.
Abby and Jimmy slowly walk over to them as Jennifer looks at her hands, "Jen?" Abby bends down next to her. "Jennifer..." She looks at Abby with tears running down her cheeks so Abby hugs her.
"Ow, fuck. Why did I tackle him off a cliff?" Sully groans as Jimmy helps him up.
"I have no clue. You were slow the whole way here, then suddenly, you slammed on the gas pedal. You almost took Jen, too so I took the fall instead." Jimmy groans as well. "If you ladies are ready, I'd love to go find help. I'm sure Sully really would." Jimmy holds him up.
"Yeah, we just have to walk a few miles." Abby says, pulling Jennifer up as she was still in a little state of shock.
Later after walking for a while, they finally get to help and the coast guard gets them on the boat to head to the mainland. Jennifer watches Jimmy and Abby share a kiss so Sully holds her hand, "You did what you had to do." He tells her.
"Why do I feel bad if he deserved it?"
"You've known him your whole life. You thought he was someone that would never hurt you or was capable of that stuff." He says as she starts to tear up again.
"This whole time... He was our brother. And I've always treated him like he was one. He knew we were his sisters, yet... he still loved us in a different way. He ruined everything because of something we said as kids. It's really our fault." She cries, so he holds her.
Abby and Jimmy go to the Seattle FBI field office, while Jennifer goes to the hospital with Sully and a few officers. They all were questioned about the whole thing from the first day up until now alone. At the moment, Jen was waiting for Sully to get out of surgery when Shea walked into view with Madison.
"I heard you and Sully would be here." She goes to sit next to her.
"I'm just waiting for him to get out of surgery. he was stabbed in the back, broke his arm and sprained his ankle."
"Henry didn't make it?" Shea says, not knowing that piece of info that he helped Wakefield.
"No, I killed him..." She looks at her and could see all the emotions going she was going through. "He killed Trish... and Ben, Fain, your dad, Richard, Malcolm, JD, and Katherine. He killed our dad, Wakefield. He was going to kill Sully too. His romantic obsession with Abby and I motivated him to lure us and everyone to the island was all part of an elaborate gambit to kill off everybody from his and our old lives so we could be happy together on the island forever. All for something Abby and I said to him when we were kids. " Jennifer cries to her.
"I don't blame you for his action because of his deranged mind taking something you said as kids literal." Shea says as the doctor says Sully can be seen now. Sully was glad to see Shea and Madison were safe and she thanked him for getting them off the island again before letting him get some rest with Jennifer.
"Since you are responsible for breaking my arm... I'm expecting you to help me." Sully drinks his water.
"You prefer to be dead right now?" She laughs at him.
"I guess I should thank you, huh?" He smiles.
"You guess?" She gets up, acting like she was going to hit him.
"I'm just joking." He has her sit next to him on the hospitable bed, "Thank you for saving my life. I'm really grateful you came looking for us." He takes her hand into his and he sees her getting upset.
"Everyone didn't deserve to die. Danny and Shane went out trying to save others. Trish was betrayed by someone she loved. Shae lost her family. Abby lost hers... Cal and Chloe were getting engaged. Booth was the only lucky one that died because it was an accident and not murdered by his friend."
"At least Henry and Wakefield are dead now and we know that's true." He squeezes her hand.
"Remember when Abby wouldn't kill Wakefield... I told her and Henry I'll be a killer if I had to, and Henry said I wouldn't. I said bet and I guess I proved him wrong by killing him." She tears up, "I hate that I still feel bad, Sully. I loved him like a brother and he was and I killed my brother. He deserved it, but I think it's the fact I hate hurting people's feelings even if they are a bad person and I'm not in the wrong."
"Jen..." Sully sits up more.
"The look in his eyes when I ran the blade through him... He was so hurt and I broke his heart." She sobs.
Sully grabbed her face so she would look at him, "I know it's because of the type of person you are. Like you said, you hate hurting people's feelings even if they are the bad person because then you feel bad but this is totally different. He killed our friends, Jen. He had a whole-ass elaborate plan to get us all somewhere to kill off. Don't feel bad for hurting his feelings when he hurt yours first."
A knock at the door makes Jennifer wipe her tears away as Abby and Jimmy enter the room, "How are you feeling?" Abby asks Sully.
"Okay, I get to get out of here tomorrow afternoon. Shae and Madison were here earlier. Jen told Shea everything. She thanked me for getting them off the island again" Sully tells her then looks at Jennifer looking down, "Tell her don't feel bad for killing Henry." He begs the two.
"Don't Jen... I know he was our best friend growing up and you two were even slightly closer than us, but he wasn't the Henry we thought we loved. He had to be stopped and that was the only way." Abby explains to her.
Jennifer just nods her head, "So you going to stay with Abby or?" She smiles at Jimmy.
"Umm, yeah. For the time being. What's your guys' plan?" It was his turn to smile.
"Apparently, I'm responsible for breaking his arm, so I'm expected to help him out for a while." She looks at Sully, who was nodding his head.
"Didn't she save your life?" Jimmy laughs.
"Thank you," Jennifer tells her brother.
"Don't push it, Sully. You finally got her after trying for eleven years." Abby gives him a wink.
The four spend some time together before Abby and Jimmy leave as it gets dark out and visiting hours were ending. "You're staying, right?" Sully asks as she goes through the channels.
"I'm not leaving you." She glances over at him then back at the tv.
"Come here." He pats his bed so she gets on his good side, "I love you."
"So I've heard and I love you too." She kisses him.
"Marry me," He says, making her sit up to look at him a little shocked, "Now isn't the best time to ask for many reasons. And we haven't even dated at all but I've loved since I laid eyes on you at the age of fourteen. Then tried making a move on you since we were seventeen, and then finally succeeded at the age of twenty-seven. I've learned life is too short so marry me, Jennifer."
"You're insane, you know that?" She giggles, "Our first kiss was like, what, a day ago? And now you are asking/ telling me to marry you because life is too short?"
"Exactly. You are all I want in life, Jennifer." He says, being completely serious about what he wants.
"We're not getting married on that island, Christopher Sullivan." She smiles, causing him to smile too.
"The hell we aren't, Jennifer Mance-Sullivan." He gives her a passionate kiss.

aftg au where bee adopted andrew and later aaron when they were teens. she owns an apple orchard that the twins and occasionally a few of the foxes help run but it's almost harvest season and she needs help prepping everything for the town's fall festivals so she decided to put up a help wanted ad. neil, tired, alone, and running out of options, decides to apply. bee let's him use the renovated barn loft as residence when she learns he's homeless. andrew is wary, his family means everything to him and neil is a flightly little thing that could only bring bad news, but something about neil is familiar. maybe it's how he checks all his exits or how he flinches when people touch him or how he cradles the key bee gave him in his palm like it was a treasure instead of a piece of metal. he asks neil for truths and it's like bleeding a rock but he finds neil is more willing when truth is reciprocated. they spend their days walking down the lines of apple trees, harvesting and talking, and andrew is only a little mesmerized with the way neil's auburn curls blend with the red of the apples and his eyes match the sky like something deliberate, like he was meant to be here. andrew thinks that maybe he doesn't hate how neil looks at him like he's worth something. andrew thinks that maybe he doesn't want to lose this. he's still learning how to accept that not everything is transactional, he doesn't need to make deals to keep people close, hes still figuring out how to want things without the fear of them being snatched away. his mind screams at him to turn away and push any feeling aside but then neil is handing him an apple and smiling and telling him stories he says he's never told anyone else and andrew doesn't think he deserves this but he wants it

Fandoms will ship two het men who simply breathe next to each other but god forbid a Black woman has a relationship with or even just chemistry with the popular male lead. And this happens in EVERY fandom (see tags for examples) with a prominent Black female character. They were even vehemently against Miles Morales and the Black spider girl (Margo).
It’s just very telling that certain people are suddenly “platonic love/besties/sibling energy only otherwise the show is ruined!!” when the fem character is Black.
It’s ok to not ship characters, but the overwhelming backlash to these specific ones has been so ridiculous and very obviously racially motivated. There are articles now discussing whether harmless shipping of two fictional adult characters is acceptable, and on the cover of them is typically an interracial pairing involving a Black woman…

Back in the main area, Jennifer thinks about her other brother she has no clue who he is. "You okay?" Danny asks her.
"He said it's part of their plan." She tells them.
"Their? He has an accomplice?" Sully asks.
"My other brother... he found him and they are bonding, making up lost time." She tells them.
"So there's someone else on this island we don't know about helping him?!" Danny panics.
"We have him locked up. No one we don't know is getting past us to help him get out." Sully tells them.
"What if-," Sully cuts Jen off.
"He's not getting out. And if he wants you he's gotta go through me first." He rubs her shoulders.
"He killed Shane, Sully for helping us girls. He strung him up over an oar... He'll kill you too." Her eyes get watery.
"If so at least it's me trying to help you." He kisses her forehead.
"Hate to ruin the moment but it's funny seeing you two like this. All lovey-dovey." Danny motions between the two.
"I don't care. Now, I'm going to see if I can fix this broken radio."
Abby arrives back at the station with Shea and Madison. Madison talks to Sully as he examines the broken radio, revealing he has knowledge of the inner workings of a radio.
"You just need a new one, I think." Madison tells him so he stops giving her a look trying not to snap at her.
"She's a child..." Jennifer puts an arm around his waist, "But there's gotta be another one somewhere on this island. There has to be." Jennifer looks at the broken one.
"If so it should shoot a beacon of light out of it so we know where it is." He looks at her.
Henry arrives moments later, announcing that Trish and Jimmy have disappeared. Shea mentions Jimmy's criminal record in the attic, causing everyone to suspect him.
"It's not him. Wakefield just told me about my other brother." Jennifer tells the others as Madison says Wakefield wanted to talk to Abby.
Sully reviews Jimmy's run-ins with Wakefield, each time surviving, and Danny suggests the head spade trap could have been set by a fisherman. Shea asks why, and Henry suggests he had been angered by Abby leaving seven years ago. Sully continues on to suggest that he had partnered with Wakefield.
"Please, guys. Just trust me; it's not Jimmy. I know that because my gut tells me." She says as Henry readies to find Trish and Jimmy enters, telling them that she fell at the bluffs.
Jimmy runs to gather supplies to rescue Trish and Henry grabs his rifle. Jimmy pleads for everyone to help Trish as they suspect him. Henry attacks Jimmy, suggesting he killed Trish, and Jimmy continues to plead for them to save her.
"Stop it!" Jennifer gets in front of Henry pushing him back. "It's not him!" She shouts at him.
"You're going to believe what Wakefield tells you?" Henry asks.
"Yes, because why would he lie to me about my other brother? He said he hasn't killed Jimmy because it's to mess with Abby and me and it makes him look suspicious to you guys." She moves to go over to Jimmy. "You aren't touching my brother." She glares at them and Henry huffs.
Abby, Jimmy, Henry, Jennifer, and Sully leave going to the bluffs and calling out for Trish. Jimmy readies the rope to climb down, and Henry suggests Jimmy pushed her off the edge.
At the bottom of the bluffs, Henry and Sully aim their guns at Jimmy, not finding Trish anywhere. Abby and Jennifer both step in front of their rifles, attempting to convince them Jimmy is innocent.
As tensions mount, Trish appears at the top of a bluff nearby. They all run to Trish, and she explains how she fell, before mentioning that she discovered a radio nearby.
Jennifer punches Sully in the chest before they follow Trish to the radio. Jimmy attempts to signal the coast guard using an emergency band. When he fails, Sully takes over attempting to fix the radio.
Sully manages to reach the Seattle coast guard, and Trish explains the situation to them. The coast guard tells her they'll be there in less than four hours, and to have someone stay by the radio.
Sully volunteers to stay with the radio, so Jennifer says she'll stay too. Henry agrees to take Trish to the Candlewick Inn for some dry clothes, and Abby decides to return to the Sheriff's Station with Jimmy.
"You're gonna regret it when Jimmy is cleared." Jennifer tells him as they were alone.
"You can't be too trusting Jen. You haven't known Jimmy for seven years. He could have snapped." He tries to explain to her.
"I know my brother and it's not him and why would Wakefield lie to me? Jimmy isn't his other kid because my dad hates I wasn't his like Jimmy was. Why can't you just trust me?" She takes his hands into hers.
"I'm scared, Jen. And I don't know who to trust. The only person I can clear is you." He tells her.
"If you love me and mean it... you'll trust me." She tells him.
"I do..."
"Then trust me, please." She begs him so he kisses her.
"Okay, I'll trust you."
"Thank you." She kisses him back.
After some time Shea and Madison arrive and informs them that Wakefield has escaped, "We think someone's helping him." Shea tells them.
"Yes, but it's not Jimmy. He never went in the back to see him in the cell so he couldn't have helped him get out." Jennifer says and looks back at Sully.
"Yeah, he's with Abby. They sent us here to find you." Shea agrees.
Sully asks about Danny, and Shea informs him that Danny fought off Wakefield to help them escape. Sully radios the coast guard again, informing them about Wakefield, and is enraged when they tell him they haven't left yet.
Sully notes the boat hanging in the boat house and decides to use it to leave. He tries to talk Jennifer into joining Shea and Madison on the boat but she refuses to go with them.
"I'm not leaving you here alone! I'm not leaving Abby, Jimmy, or Henry either! Plus, Trish is still out there." She fights him as he tries to get her to get on. "NO! I'm staying with you!" She yells.
"Fine!" He gives in as Shea heads off with Madison. "You're stupid." He tells her.
"I know, but I'm not leaving you here. We've known each other for fourteen years, and for eleven of them, you've been trying to get me... now you got me, and I'm not leaving you." She kisses him, "Let's get back to the boat house in case the others go back there. We can also let the coast guards know about Madison and Shea."
Sully radios the coast guard again, informing them of Shea and Madison's boat as Jennifer leans on his back with her arms wrapped around his shoulders as he sits at the radio and neither of them hear Henry enter.
"When the hell are you guys getting here?" Sully asks.
"I'll get back to you in a second with an ETA. Over."
"Yeah, thanks. Take your time." He puts the walkie down, "You should have gone with them." Sully sighs as Henry stays quiet walking to them slowly.
"Maybe but I wasn't leaving your side." She kisses his shoulder as Henry makes the floorboard squeak causing them to jump.
"Henry. Damn it. You scared the hell out of me. Man am I glad to see you." They huh each other.
"Did I hear right? Shea and Madison got off the island?"
"Yeah. Wakefield escape and I had to make sure they were safe. I tried to get Jennifer to go but she wouldn't go with them." Sully tells him.
"Why didn't you go with them?" Henry asks as Jennifer watches him. She hasn't exactly cared for him since he wanted to kill Jimmy. Yeah, Sully did the same but it was different and she couldn't explain it.
"And leave you?" Sully tells him.
"I...I'm impressed. Seriously. That is quite possibly the stupidest thing you've ever done."
Sully talks to the coast guard, while Jennifee watches Henry out of the corner of her eye messing with Sully's gun. Sully agrees to meet their helicopter at the marina in forty-five minutes.
"Jen, why don't you stay here in case Abby and Jimmy or even Trish come back?" Henry suggests not wanting her to go with them.
She looks at Sully not wanting to leave his side, "We'll be fine. Once we find them or if we can't, I'll come back to get you, okay?" Sully walks over to her.
"It's not just Wakefield out there... remember." She tells him scared and nervous about Henry's tiny recent actions. He was her best friend but like Sully said, who can you really trust. She course didn't want to think it was him, but she just confused with him for the past couple of hours.
"I'll be back. I promise you that. As you said, I've been trying to get you... now I got you, and I'm not leaving you." He kisses her while Henry glares at them from the side.
"Be safe, please." She kisses him back. "Henry," She gives him a head nod.
"Of course. Jenny, everything will be right once this is over." He gives her a weak smile as him and Sully leave.
As soon as the door closes, her heart drops and has a bad guy feeling about everything. No one they couldn't have known have slipped past them to help Wakefield escape.
You might already be very close to your brother; who knows?
Jennifer knew the only guys left were Sully, Henry and Jimmy. She knew 100% it wasn't Jimmy or Sully, but Henry...
Everything will be right once this is over. She hears Wakefield say it in her head and then Henry says they exact same thing to her.
"No," She rushes out of the boathouse trusting her gut.
He was the only person that made sense of you go over things. Always defending Abby and her a bit too much. He knew where Trish's dad would stand. He wanted the wedding to be on the island. Plus he locked up Wakefield.
As she was running around looking for them, she could hear a faint yell from Henry in the distance so she follows it running faster than ever.
Both guys keep calling out Trish's name as they walk around looking for her. "You know what I don't get. How Wakefield escape from that jail cell. He must have had help."
"Yeah, but who?" Sully asks.
"One of us it had to be." Henry tells him.
"Well, Jimmy wasn't anywhere near the jail and Jennifer made sure I cleared him as she gave me things to do so." Sully lets him know.
"What about Wakefield's kid? He could have done it."
"Then, he's a ghost. Cause there is no want in hell this guy slipped past us. And we know Jen didn't do it." Sully huffs.
"I locked Wakefield up. I could've slipped him the key." Henry says making Sully confused.
Sully brings up saying if this son was real that be was a wack job like his father so Henry explains he could just be really pissed about the whole thin being lied to.
"Dude. You're creeping me out." Sully stops to look back at him.
"You're right. Sorry. So you and Jennifer?" Henry changes the topic as they keep walking.
"What about it?"
"Got her to fall for your charm?" Henry shoots daggers into his head from behind.
"Turns out I didn't have to try. She said she's had a thing for me since we met. All I had to do was just be open. Why are we talking about us right now?" Sully asks confused.
"I'm just surprised seeing you two kiss. Especially her kissing you back after she said she was smart enough." Henry says so Sully glances back at him.
"She said she scared because of the type of guy I was so she can tell I've changed. Man, what we're going through has changed me and I realize some shit okay." Sully keeps walking.

Why do people hate female characters so much? Incels hate female characters. The yaoi shippers hate female characters, the writers of a show or movie literally either don't know how to write a female character or ruin her story and push her aside. Like what's up with that??
Also, what's up with fandom? Y'all see a man whose gone through trauma and has issues trusting and is just an over all grumpy fellow and you want to hug him.
While a female character goes through the same thing and she's ruining the vibe for y'all??

I want to say that Black girls and women in fandoms are some of the strongest people in the world, but that in and of itself is microaggressive (I’m Black, but still). We put up with a lot of hate, icing out, misplaced jealousy and concern trolling, and that’s even the case when Black female characters are treated well by the narrative, which they often are not. And yeah, we’re still here and everything, but we deserve better.
Fandom is for enjoyment, not having to be the strongest toughest person in the room. I’m older now so I have the benefit of not giving nearly as much of a shit as I did in my early 20s, but I want more for the ones still finding themselves, trying to find community and make art about the things they love.

Shipping isn’t activism, still, from Abbie Mills to Bonnie Bennett to Iris West-Allen to Trina Robinson it’s always disturbing that people have such ugly reactions to Black women and girls being loved and cherished in fiction.
