I'm really hoping to finish this story, which is basically the first draft of my second novel, by the end of this year. It's eventually going to be a romance between an agoraphobic aspec librarian (FC: Kiki Layne) and a sentient android (FC: non-human but also somehow Manny Jacinto). I'm liking my progress so far, here's the latest chapter.

I'm also easing myself back into the fanfic mood by rereading and editing an existing fic. If you ever feel like revisiting this one, expect a few extra lines --I'm always trying to improve my writing of love scenes, those who do it extremely well are so impressive to me, and depicting consensual sexual roughness was an exciting challenge. I hope you like the slight differences.

As for Tiger Boy And The Witch Girl, the last chapter is finally in progress, stay tuned!

Cassius, a sensitive AI with no knowledge of his purpose, hides out in a Turingville, a safe haven for droids hunted by the government. But when the only home he’s ever known is raided by dangerous mercenaries, he is faced with a decision that will change the course of his artificial life.

Characters

Cassius- An AI trying to evade a government that wants him deprogrammed while grappling with his growing feelings for the human woman protecting him.

Faceclaim: Manny Jacinto although like the other prominent AI characters, he doesn’t have a human appearance, so picture Manny Jacinto as a robot. 

*why yes, I did quietly change the faceclaim from Steven Yuen because that man disappointed the hell out of me. Also, Manny Jacinto is a better choice anyway since he has a dance background and Cassius is a dancer*

Mary- A clever, tech-savvy archivist tasked with hiding Cassius after he saves the life of her brother.

Ral- Mary’s brother, a robot hunting mercenary who makes a deal with Cassius after a raid goes awry

Faceclaim: Trevante Rhodes

Sunny- Cassius’s sister, a Droid freedom fighter searching for him. Constantly grapples with her unwanted ability to feel human emotions.

Faceclaim: Robot Lana Condor.

Morgan- The leader of the team of Droid freedom fighters Sunny and Cassius belongs to. Has undefined feelings for Sunny that drive her to help rescue Cassius. Faceclaim: Robot Tiffany Boone

Ben- Ral’s partner and on/off boyfriend. A tech-hating merc who is initially against protecting Cassius

I met this nice girl through my college friend. She's my friend's childhood best friend and I had heard so much about her so I was really excited to finally meet her. The three of us hung out at a stupid school-sponsored event into the late hours of the night, drinking soda and eating pizza and getting to know each other. At the end of it, she entered into a raffle and ended up winning free tickets to Disneyland. We celebrated and parted ways. It was the highlight of that semester.

A few months later, Israel began dropping bombs on her family home. I watched from afar as her entire life fell apart and her family was displaced and killed. Every time I asked how she was doing, she was doing bad.

In Palestine, as in a lot of places in the world, it is shameful to ask for money. A little bit after the war began, I passed a message along to her family offering to help raise funds for their evacuation, but they declined saying that they didn't want pity from anyone. Now it seems like they're running out of options.

My friend has already lost so much so please spare her the additional indignity of asking for help and not receiving it. I can't imagine how soul crushing it would be to do something you believe to be shameful and for your effort to go to waste.

Their goal is only $5000 and they've already raised ~$820, I don't see why we can't raise the full amount within the next week.

Verified by the fact that this is literally my IRL. DM me if u wanna see her Instagram or other contact info proving she's real. Tumblr is a rather unsafe place for Palestinians so I'd rather not publicize all her personal info but I've been pretty careful with the fundraisers I boost on this blog so I hope you can trust me here.

My friend reached her goal early this morning and I even saw people encouraging others to keep donating because they realized her family would need more. I am truly moved by this incredible show of compassion from everyone.

Noncanon ships are better than canon ships because your imagination does most of the heavy lifting. In most (not all) cases, if you think a canon romance is handled poorly, the answer won't be the same writers putting different characters together. They probably just aren't that good at writing romance in general.

I love a good noncanon romance as much as the next guy, but I don't typically think becoming canon would be of any real advantage to those pairings.

Finnpoe still should have been real though and I'll die with that belief.
