Andrew looks at Kevin after the game against the Trojans.

"How does it feel?" He asks Kevin.

"Losing is not pleasant for anyone," says Kevin.

"Sorry," Andrew says without meaning it at all. "I wanted to say, how does it feel to know that Monsieur Misérable and Mr. Golden Smile are fucking together and have agreed to beat you up?"

Kevin turns to him with a growing bad mood.

"They're not having sex."

"D'Artagnan hit you too hard with the racket. You don't know what you're saying."

"They're not having sex, Andrew!"

"New bet then. I say that France conquers California before the end of the year... In two months if Monsieur Trauma takes care of his shit."

"...Jeremy has never told me he's gay."

Andrew remains silent. He turns his head towards Kevin very very slowly.

"300 dollars."

"We're not going to bet on this..."

"500 dollars."

"Why are you so happy to do this?"

"What do you mean, Kevin? I'm a very happy man."

It's impossible to tell if Andrew is joking with that unflappable expression.

And so the betting returns to the Foxes.

it just occurred to me that one of the most famous, folk singers in the world centers his romantic and whimsical music around black women. this is about hozier. from too sweet, to nina cried power, to work song, to jackie and wilson, etc., the center is always a black woman, speaking about a black woman, loving a black woman, etc. and that is just special to me. hardly anyone has any love for black women in media, and it's just so jarring yet lovely that the one man who makes lovely, poetic, whimsical music for black women just happens to be a white Irish man. But when you really get down to it, that's not surprising at all

and why is this important, because in media and society black women are universally unloved and just not treated with any form of dignity or not seen as desirable.

Hozier isn't just a singer he is a poet, and the way his lyrics, style, music process, etc., is so deeply intertwined with blackness but specifically black women...it's just something i can never stop thinking about.

I haven't been that obsessed with a media since The Raven Cycle (from which I still haven't recovered to be completely honest), and I'm sooo eager to draw more of the foxes!!

I probably won't have that much time since I'm coming back to school tomorrow for my last year till graduation (It's already such a rush, I predict short nights incoming)… But I'll manage to find time to draw them anyway.

I actually plan on doing an aftg series of illustrations like this one using the same format and color palette so, expect more! (if I'm not drown in work that is to say)
