Is Solangelo really rushed? A realistic teenage relationship

So, a lot of people are complaining that Solangelo was a rushed relationship because it was only 6 months long. And it's not really a proper relationship, is it, because it was so rushed!

Actually, that's kind of realistic for a teenage relationship. In fact, that's probably the most realistic aspect of the relationship, because a lot of teenage relationships are rushed, and when my friends were teenagers, they got into rushed relationships too.

And, honestly, 6 months might be a little rushed, but I don't think that it's that rushed-in fact, Nico and Will might have gotten to know each other quite well if we accept the fact that they were spending most of their time in each other's company. So, yeah, if we take it in a ratio, the rushed part might be 20 compared to the 80 of the getting to know each other part.

Well I think that many of y’all should stop acting as if tsats doesn’t exist and the development solangelo had in the book isn’t there! You can hate the ship, but solangelo OBJECTIVELY isn’t underdeveloped anymore, at least not as y’all make it out to be. (And using percabeth as standard doesn’t even make sense considering the development level of literally every other ship excluding them.)

As for the problematic part, again, people critique things that literally get resolved in the book

Why Solangelo is so popular

Ok, so we all know that Percabeth is the No 1 ship in PJO, because they got five books of development and their dynamic is amazing.

But Solangelo is the 2nd despite not getting much development, which is surprising. Why is this?

Well, my take on Solangelo is that they're famous only because of their sunshine sweet/darkness grumpy dynamic. That's literally all there is to it in my opinion.

This is a really famous dynamic, and I think that Rick saw the potential in it-though he ultimately failed to execute it properly, and the ship is quite problematic as a result.

Obviously it's canon that Percy was Nico's gay awakening but it's my personal headcanon that Percy was also Will's awakening because the bike scene. Like. Do I need to explain further.

Imagine being grabbed by Percy onto a bike and holding him for dear life as he speeds you through New York, like there's no way it didn't make him start questioning things about himself.

I'd also like to think this is something he hasn't told Nico and is really awkward when he tries to dodge the question.

Tbh I think that the “Will wouldn’t be a doctor because he would get tired of seeing pain” argument kinda stems from a misconception of what a doctor does.

To start off, I think we gotta clarify that not ALL types of doctors are exposed to death and pain the way y’all think they are. In fact, many of them aren’t. Probably most.

Second of all, a doctors job isn’t to just send out death sentences. On the contrary, healing is absolutely something that celebrates life! Not everything in a doctor’s job has to do with death and pain, and though many times a condition could arrive to a drammatic point, that’s not all there is!

And talking about Will specifically, call me crazy but I truly don’t see how anyone could see him as anything other than a doctor in canon. Healing is part of him, part of his identity. Without healing and without his dream of being a doctor he is NOT WILL!!! its just such an intrinsic part of his character, and, to me at least, it cannot be taken away.

I also saw some people trying to argue that he “wouldn’t want to relive the trauma of his brothers dying” which? I’m just kinda confused about because it has essentially nothing to do w medicine😭

Will has always dreamed of helping people (one could argue that he dreams of helping people a bit TOO much, basing his entire worth around it) and tho I can kinda see people saying he would get a bit tired (as in like. physically. From him working too much) there are many specializations in medicine, not to mention many ways a doctor can do their job!
