It’s the Saturday before Election Day 2024 here in the US, and stress/anxiety/fear/etc… is pretty high for a lot of people. That’s warranted, because another 4 years of Trump/GOP rule will harm so many people. You should do whatever you need to manage the next few days (including voting if you haven’t already), but I really want to encourage you to stop giving polls and “close race” media coverage much / any of your time or consideration.
Polling processes are wildly obsolete for how Millennial and Gen Z voters act compared to Gen X and Boomers (this is not a dig at these generations, just a factual observation). Polls are also easily manipulated to return a desired result, and the people running polls have a vested interest in getting your engagement. Keeping the results tight keeps eyeballs on them.
Similarly, the 24/7 media environment needs you constantly on edge and worried so you keep checking in and listening. They have no interest in a boring election or landslide victory. The majority of journalists have not risen to address this moment with the deliberate, in-depth reporting that we need. It’s far easier to throw together click-bait headlines to pump their numbers. It’s why they spend days covering the tiniest slip by Harris/Walz (and previously, Biden) while giving Trump/Vance a pass on every insane thing they say. Trump is *incredible* for news companies. He is so outrageous that their headlines write themselves, and as long as they don’t follow-up to truly report on him in a way that would end any other politician, they have unlimited content. Whatever you think about Biden, just remember: a single debate performance that wasn’t great was seized upon by the media (because it made for great engagement) and ended his candidacy. Trump can say the most batshit things (they’re eating the dogs!), and they minimize it at every opportunity, because he is good for them. They are sacrificing their journalistic integrity and responsibility at the expense of real people’s lives and rights.
So, what do we do if polls and most news coverage isn’t useful? Remember:
Trump lost the 2020 election. The Electoral College is the only reason it was even close. People were fed up then, and they are even more fed up now.
Roe was overturned by an activist Supreme Court that Trump is responsible for. In virtually every state-level election since then, the results have been outstandingly positive for Democrats, including in the Deep South™. This is why so many GOP politicians have stopped talking about abortion, even going so far as to remove their position from their websites, or directly contradicting themselves when asked about it. The only person making a decision about a woman’s body should be that woman, and these predominantly white dudes still don’t realize how badly they fucked up.
The majority of Trump’s former Cabinet and senior leadership have very publicly turned on him. While it would have been nice for them to do this earlier, it’s unprecedented to see so many prominent Republicans declare they will not vote for him. This doesn’t impact the hardcore MAGA crowd, but it absolutely speaks to more centrist Republican voters.
Trump has been convicted of sexual assault, and he is an adjudicated rapist. He’s been convicted of 34 felony indictments, with more to potentially come. Even though it seems like he never suffers consequences for these legal issues, it costs him voters. People who could justify supporting him before are finally reaching a limit, even if they don’t publicly admit it. (Some do!)
Also, more and more people who voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 are willing to publicly admit they are tired of him and can’t do it again. His rallies are smaller and smaller, the crowds are less engaged, and, yes, people leave during his rambling rants more and more often.
Gen Z is getting to vote for the first time at any real scale. Say what you will about TikTok and other platforms, but they are more informed and showing up and caring about issues that didn’t move the needle for Gen X or Boomers. Remember the Access Hollywood, grab ‘em by the pussy, tape? That should have ended his original campaign, but it didn’t. Gen Z has found out about that, and it’s just one of so many things driving them to get out and vote. The turnout is going to be incredible.
Because we still use the stupid Electoral College, this election largely comes down to swing states. The Trump campaign has done almost everything imaginable to lose those voters. Whether it’s bashing unions (Trump said a child could do the same job as automotive workers building cars, he bragged about not paying overtime, etc…), immigrants (they’re eating the dogs, GOP-led states demonizing them), Puerto Ricans (calling their home a floating pile of garbage, Trump denying hurricane relief for almost two years), or women (abortion, telling women they should vote how their husband wants them to, Vance thinking their purpose is nothing more than baby-making, stay-home, wait-on-a-man’s every need), they are losing the swing states.
Elections are *incredibly secure and trustworthy.* The Trump/GOP camp has attacked this at every opportunity with virtually no success. The few instances of voter fraud we’ve seen in the last few years are almost entirely from Republicans. They have already started the narrative that the election is rigged if Trump loses. This narrative will only increase as results start to roll in on Tuesday. Don’t even worry about it. They will lose every / almost every single lawsuit they try to bring. It will have no impact on the eventual outcome.
Early voting, including absentee and mail-in ballots, turnout is incredibly encouraging. The higher the turnout, the better, and people are showing up. There’s fatigue and embarrassment on the GOP side (you’re gonna eventually hear from those voters that they stayed home, voted for Harris, etc…), and there’s excitement and motivation on the Dem side.
Are there reasons to be worried? Of course. The Trump campaign is going to try and obstruct the voting process in every way they can. They’re blocking poll monitors in Texas and Florida. Drop boxes in some states have been attacked. Voter rolls have been illegally purged. They’re bringing lawsuits (most of which they’ve already lost) even before Election Day. They’re going to claim fraud. They’ll probably incite violence again.
These are the actions of a desperate campaign that isn’t trying to actually win, because they know they’ve already lost.
So, we can acknowledge our stress, anxiety, and fear, but we don’t have to let it ruin the next few days. Get outside and enjoy (hopefully) beautiful Fall weather. Snuggle your pets. Listen to your favorite albums. Read a great book. Hang out with your people. Vote.
We’re a few days away from a massive weight being lifted from our shoulders. Don’t let it weigh you down until then.

What If Y/N is like Courage the cowardly dog?
The things i do for Love- Courage the Cowardly dog
You see their was an old journey to the west legend, called the Screaming Earthquake, Who screams of emotional Distress has shook both the heavens and all of China. And everybody is about to find out, that the earthquake was you.
(Lmk Wukong) He causes you so much stress, but you love him so much. You would do anything for him even put yourself in danger and with how reckless he is you gonna have too. The final straw was when he got possessed by lady bone demon and hurting everyone, we couldn't handle this, as we watch him and Macaque fight. MK immediately noticed your despair and he yelled for everyone to cover their ears.
Finally you with your power lungs let out a ground breaking scream that shook the battlefield and broke the ground below you. Making everyone cover their ears, that's right even lady bone demon not to mention your scream was so intense it shook her control right out of Wukong's head as Macaque fought him. Which shocked everyone and snapped Wukong out of it and joined in on the final fight, and at the end you were able to calm down as Wukong hugged and kisses.
(NR Wukong) oh god he's gonna make you old way before your time, but you found yourself still caring about him. Wukong would run around and act quite wildly and you were always scared and nervous for him, as an act of love and against your better judgment. Things got even more complicated when Wukong met Li who is apparently the new recarnation of Nezha another celestial you would often worry about personally. With the training and making of armor You would often act as the safety measure to the whole training sessions Always Bringing a first aid kit or a fire extinguisher, then came the issues with the dragon gang which caused you to stress over your husband and Li and Su Whom you considered your children at this point. The final straw was when you learned that your husband was kidnapped and your earth shattering scream brought down the dragon lair and cracked the area around you during your nervous breakdown. In the end it took Li, Su and Wukong to finally calm you down and get you out of your Anxiety attack.
(MR Wukong) Ohhhhhhhhhh man I don't know what to say. He's gets reckless and runs into danger and conflict all the time. Between your screams of terror and his screams of rage it's loud and crazy. Then you fide yourself running into danger to become you got so worried about him, especially between the fight with the demon king. Between protecting fruity and worrying about your excessively bleeding husband you couldn't handle it. Before anyone knew it you had fruity under you when you let out a scream that shook the battlefield and broke the ground below you. A earthquake broke out on the battlefield as the demon king's army were either crushed or collapse into the broken environment shaking the realm to its very core. At the end of it all Wukong and Fruity was able to calm you down and the pilgrims learned never to scare or stress you ever.
(HIB Wukong) You love your little family more then anything and would do anything for them especially your husband. You were heavily worried about him especially with what happened in the celestial war which you told him to reconsider about but no, he went to fight and failed and now he didn't come home for over 500 years so you were relatively frustrated with him. You put a side your irritation for him when you noticed that he came home with a Little boy and a baby girl, now you loved children and went to tend to them right away but you don't miss pigsy all that much though. He was annoying and clumsy but still a kind person? Well back to the situation at hand you learned that a Emo Demon name Hun Dun are after the children and immediately you because support for them, and we ready to protect the children when needed. Though at the end you both thought you lost Luier and while your husband got his powers back your screams of greif and terror broke though Hun Dun's army and Wukong had finished them off afterwards you had found your children and returned to Wukong cuddling him. Letting him know that you finally forgive him after all these years.
(Netflix Wukong) He's also someone who's causes you stress, but not like Lmk and Nezha would. The issue is he doesn't like to listen at all you warn him of obvious danger ahead in his journey, but with his what's the worse that can happen looking ass it never works out. Then came the time he got in trouble with the dragon king and soon the heavens, all because he stole a staff from them. Lin had tried to warn him along with you with the doofus it's in one ear and out the other and when the final battle happened you couldn't handle it anymore and well. Everyone got to see just how powerful your lungs and thoat actually was when you broke the sound barrier making even the people of the heavens cover their ears, as your screams gave Wukong the advantage to defeat the dragon king and at the end he gave you a cup of tea to calm your nerves and throat as you went under the mountain together.
(BMW Wukong) Another monkey who causes you a large amount of stress, but your love for him keeps you around him. He's mad reckless and quite Barbaric and the world's biggest instigator, so the fact that you haven't had a stroke is a miracle in of itself. What Wukong wasn't being an reckless a**hole and causing problems, he's up there taunting and giving the finger to heaven and granted you could careless for those guys but you still worried over your husband and what he was gonna do. Then came the fight with that rat bastard Erlang as you grew angry and stressed as you watched your husband fight and grew anxious when the fight became intense. You told your husband to fall back, but it wasn't working out, so you did the next best thing, SCREAM!!!! Wukong never liked when you would scream as you would break a lot of glass back at flower fruit mountain Which would make him stop what he's doing quite to tend to you. He still works because now he's snuggling you while sending clones to fight Erlang.
(Destined one) OH THANK GOD, he's the calmest and actually the most responsible of the monkeys. So imagine his shock when he finds out that his wife with a very powerful pair of lungs can break the sound barrier with ease. Now the destined one would never stress you out on purpose but, being a monkey and having endless enemies well some things just can be avoided you know. Like for example a group of demons who attacked at your camp and the destined one ran to fight him and that made you a bit irrational, then came the Fight with Erlang and granted the destined one finally whooped him, but you we frightened for him still. Then came the last straw with that shell he was made to fight and watching him and bodied out their you couldn't take it and well, Let's just say not only did the shell shattered into pieces, But the destined one Now had to deal with Bleeding ears.

doctor demon prince im in my 5th year of undergrad suffering from functional freeze and Cant Write Papers disease (subtype where i eventually write it 7 months later and its really good for how rushed it is). ive also been doing unmasking work and trying to make progress w my nervous system and my relationships, i still have a long way to go . im going to graduate eventually (who fucking knows when) but with a pretty shit gpa.
Anyway my question is why the fuck do i keep wanting to get a masters degree when i know this setting sucks real bad for me. i love 2 learn but either dont have a handle on my adhd/autistic workflow yet or simply dont have the combination of traits it takes to succeed in academia. and i have student loans. i probably wont be accepted to any masters programs anyway but i dont know what else to do !!!!!!!!!!! 🙃 seeing as this is the transgender autistic grad student website maybe u or some of ur followers have advice for me..... 🫶 ok thank u byeee
I'm sorry to have to say this, but why do you want to go to graduate school? It will drive you deeply into debt, cause you a huge amount of stress, subject you to a wildly inaccessible environment where student neurodivergences are often unfairly cast as signs of laziness and lack of academic potential, and, in a majority of fields, it doesn't lead to improved career prospects (typically, the equivalent amount of time spent working in your chosen profession will get you just as far, if not farther, than a graduate degree).
I don't recommend graduate school to almost anyone. Graduate school was a stigmatizing, exhausting, abusive, exploitative, traumatizing experience for me that left me profoundly socially isolated and physically sick, and trained me in an increasingly irrelevant and scientifically unsound field that basically does nothing but regurgitate neoliberal truisms back to the elites that already believe in them.
Some of the faults I've just listed don't apply to *every* academic field in the world -- but it does apply to most of them!
I think it's important for people to know that Master's degree programs are, by and large, created as a revenue source for universities. Undergraduate enrollment has hit a wall -- there's only so many more people who can go to college, in a world where college has become increasingly obligatory, college pays off professionally far less than it used to, and in times of low unemployment there's very little reason to go to school -- and so the possibility of growing undergraduate enrollment has become more and more thin. This means universities have been unable to turn growing profits for years. And that's what matters to them -- profits.
Left without the revenue source of more college students' tuitions, universities have turned toward courting repeat customers -- duping college graduates who are unhappy with their post-graduate career prospects by investing in even more school. In most Master's degree programs, there are very high fees, very limited financial aid, and very very limited mentorship (compared to, say PhD programs, where shepherding you through the program is at least an advisor's duty).
I've worked in higher ed administration for years now and I've seen how disposable Master's degree students are taken to be -- they're paying for a pricey credential and they get very little out of it, in the end -- in most programs, and most contexts. When we need to fill a budget gap, we create a new Master's program -- without regard for whether it is necessary, and without ever being able to prove it will aid our graduates in getting jobs, or even that the degree will fill a necessary niche.
You can feel free to write back to me if yours is a field where a master's degree is necessary or yields positive career outcomes for a great many people (social work and athletic training come to mind). But even still, I don't think you should subject yourself to a completely inaccessible environment that you are already struggling in and taking on more debt to do so. You deserve better than that. And 99% of graduate programs will not do right by you.
If you'd like to read more about just how exploitative graduate programs generally are, and why, I recommend Karen Kelsky's book The Professor is In, or her blog of the same name:

I have a few things to say about Quackity's stream and the QSMP as a whole.
If you haven't watched the stream, please do so here, I refuse to paraphrase and believe it should be watched in its entirety to form your own opinions. [Here is the YouTube link]
First of all; I don't think any of the actions Quackity took were deliberately malicious. I believe, in my opinion, he got swept up in the excitement and hype surrounding this new project, and we all know how easily that can happen. It's so easy to ignore the small things when you are being showered in positivity.
I think the project got far bigger than he thought which opens up everything to a lot of criticism.
But he does not deserve to feel unsafe, nor is it any sort of appropriate to send him death threats under any circumstances. Nor to anyone, that is a line we should not cross.
Please, for the love of everything, remember this is one of the biggest projects he has ever attempted. Balancing management, his real life, and his public figure status must be incredibly stressful, and you can only do that for so long until things start to go unnoticed. Someone spread so thin is bound to crack, and unfortunately, I think that's what happened with the administration. He's an incredibly busy guy, and to expect him to be so hands-on with the project while keeping up with the rest of his life and future prospects is an inhumane task to keep up with.
Yes, I absolutely agree that healthy amounts of criticism are necessary in something as groundbreaking as this. But under no circumstances *ever* does that become something you can threaten another's safety over.
I also agree he should have said something and apologized to the previous admins who were brave enough to share their story. But I also can agree with the fact this might have been better done privately, at least as much as possible, because the moment you get the public involved someone malicious is going to rip their words apart to use in whatever fashion they wish.
But it's hard to be truly objective and honest when every word you ever say online could be misconstrued and twisted to suit another's fancy.
I think that's where most of the issue lies, at least to me. There are systems in place when handled in a law environment to protect those affected. The moment anything goes public, it's free game for someone to use as they wish.
I think in certain situations, getting the public involved in the good fight is a sound decision, for a group of people are louder than one individual. But it can also grow wildly out of control if not handled properly, and for a delicate situation like this, I think it's only drawn the whole situation out to a painful amount.
I dislike the fact that a lot of my passion has disappeared for the server because this server is full of people whose content I enjoyed previously and some I've only now discovered.
But, I still do believe it's possible for us to hold hope. I have to hold onto that because if there truly is a way for this to turn around it can serve as an example it's possible to recover and put your best foot forward.
I think there's been mistakes all around, blown wildly out of proportion, but I do still want to give this place a chance.
Because what an example it could become if solutions can be found that helps all the parties and the fandom affected by this all.
That's all. Again, this is just my opinion, and I want to discuss it if people want to talk about it reasonably.
Please form your own thoughts after watching the stream, and try to keep an open mind. I understand this might drive a lot of people away, but I believe in the heart of what QSMP is.
This server and community are meant to unite people from across the world. Let's give it a chance to continue to do so, eh?
Edit for some clarification ;
I do not blame the admins for doing what they had to. I'm proud of the brave actions they took facing such a massive community head-on.
I just wish it all could have gone down differently, but we can't change the past, only hope for a better future.
[Here is a transcript of the stream from Twitter, please watch the stream as a priority though]
Edit 2: adding this too
#qsmp#wrenrambles#qsmp situation#quackity studios#quackity smp#again go watch the stream first#form your own opinions#you can critisize but its much better received in a reasonable tone#qsmp discourse#qsmp discussion#qsmp admins#qsmp admins situation

Christen Press’ long journey back from injury: ‘The last six months have been the best of my life’
On Tuesday, Christen Press returned to team training with Angel City FC, exactly two years to the day from when she tore her ACL in a 2022 match against Racing Louisville. While her involvement in training is still limited, with her only taking part in the warm-ups and a passing drill to start, it’s one of the many milestones Press can celebrate on the arduous journey she’s undertaken for a full return to the sport.
As she noted in a call with The Athletic, most of those milestones have been reached in private. At first, she wanted this moment to be private too — well, as private as it could be with a full team and staff around, but in a closed practice where she could evaluate how she felt. With further thought, she changed her mind: this milestone was one that could be celebrated, and with so much uncertainty still left about what milestones remain, she might as well embrace this one.
“If this is something we can all celebrate, let’s just go for it, because this journey has been really, really long,” Press said on Monday, a little more than 24 hours out from the return to training. “When you don’t play, you do have a different relationship with the fanbase, and it’s nice to see this as the re-entry point. People are going to get videos of me in team training, and I’m just going to be around.”
Back in February, Press referenced her “relentless optimism” that has helped her on this wildly unpredictable recovery process, which required four surgeries and resulted in her missing out entirely for competing for a 2023 World Cup roster spot. Her fourth surgery was timed right around when the USWNT was heading to New Zealand, which released her from being tied to a recovery timeline and feeling the pressure to return.
“When I found out I had to have the fourth surgery, I was like, well, I’m not going to the World Cup because I’ll be in surgery during the World Cup,” she said in February. “So that was the moment I actually exhaled. I had to grieve that.”
The release from external timelines has extended to another tournament, the Olympics, which Press said on Monday she’s never really focused on in terms of a potential return. Despite the standard recovery timelines lining up from her fourth and final ACL surgery, last summer’s World Cup experience wasn’t something she wanted to repeat.
“There’s no way your mind can’t start doing the math, right?” Press said this week, saying she’d catch herself counting down the weeks to this summer’s tournament. She doesn’t want to turn off the part of herself still dreaming and striving for a roster spot or any accomplishment on the field, but it’s all a balance.
There’s also a delicate emotional balance in other ways through the recovery process. She’s been in with the team at their training facility, watching the rest of the players train; she’s been at games supporting Angel City, too. Injuries can be isolating, but there’s a weight to being around the team, unable to participate.
“Some of the hardest days of my week are game days when I watch my team play, and there’s a lot of nuance to that. I do feel part of the team. I’m very loyal and dedicated to my teammates and to the club, but it’s actually really hard and painful to watch,” she said.
Having her own space at her physical therapy clinic provided a healing environment. One that lives outside the specific pressures and stresses of the week-to-week grind of the NWSL season, one where the coaches turn from a Friday night result to the new outlook of Monday morning.
“It was a huge blessing to be able to be outside of that, and then the re-entry has been just so great because I have been in a bubble. I’ve been saying, I’ve been bubble-wrapped for so long and now to get in and experience the shift in moods, the shift in energy that comes with preparing for a game and dealing with the results is really important,” she said, now having been more integrated with the team over the past three months.
She’s adjusted now, but shifting from the PT clinic, where she saw the same three people every day, to the full Angel City experience was a bit of a shock.
“It was so social,” she said, laughing a little, recalling just how many people were suddenly talking to her on a daily basis. “Oh my god, I am so introverted. I can’t be around 23 people that are asking me about my life. This is wild! I kept being like, I want to wear a shirt that says, ‘Please don’t ask me about my knee today.’”
With the integration underway and the public milestone achieved, Press has also been busy with the return of The RE-CAP Show, which she hosts with Tobin Heath. Now into their third season, they’ve already recorded with guests like former USWNT player Abby Wambach and Glennon Doyle (who both are in the Angel City investment group, too).
Press and Heath were among the first players to balance active careers with stepping into the media realm, a path shared by the likes of Sam Mewis, Becky Sauerbrunn, Lynn Williams, Midge Purce and others. But still the far more common path is for a player to retire, then start talking about soccer for a living. Press and Heath embrace the tension and perspective this provides.
“Neither Tobin nor I are retired, and neither Tobin nor I have put that chapter behind us,” she said. “We always say it’s a very unique insider/outsider perspective with the USWNT.” As she noted on Monday’s call, you can’t get cut from the national team — a player can always get left off a roster, but they’re also always in contention for the next one. “With the national team, we’re both like, ‘You never know.’ If we can play, we’re going for it right?”
Press noted that discussing the NWSL felt different to her on the show — she’s actively contracted to a team, after all. But either way, her and Heath approach the show with an “active eye” rather than two players who are looking back. But they’ve also focused on building a community along with their foray into the media space. Press has been providing videos with an intimate look into her recovery process for paying members of RE-INC, something that she didn’t think she’d want to create in a more public forum.
“We’ve been able to stay inside the women’s soccer community, having a relationship with our community and our fan base through it all,” Press said.
“We’re simply having the same conversation that we have on our living room couch. I carry a weight of being thoughtful and careful and intentional all the time, inside my own home, so it’s easy for me to translate that. So when we have our banter back and forth, we can stand in a place where we’re challenging each other, and that makes the show more of a provocation than an answer,” she continued. “It’s a question. It’s not an answer.”
Press’ reputation is built in many ways around that thoughtfulness, but it’s not an act either. And sometimes, the way she approaches the world in her “cerebral” fashion means that she wants things to make sense, like her ACL injury and all four surgeries. “I want this fairy tale story where I come back, I’m delightful — that’s actually what I want. ‘I went through all of this, and now you all find me delightful.’”
Press is also all too aware of another reputation, one earned because she’s not afraid to ask for what she wants. She’s fought for everything she wanted. She knows her value.
“Before, you called me a diva, and now I’m delightful. It’s not going to be like that; that’s not what life is. But I will say, the last year of my life — maybe even shorter, the last six months — have been the best of my life because of the space that my ACL created for me to heal as a human. I’m still on that journey, and I intend to stay on that journey.”
Press said this time has allowed her to process and work through all the things she wanted to work through when she actively took a break from the national team, following the previous Olympics. That was the last time she put on a USWNT jersey, after all, and it was and still is a big part of her identity. There have been chapters of her life since then though, and through the recovery process she has asked herself time and time again not when she wants to come back, but how.
She acknowledged there will be fear and pressure with this milestone and the ones yet to come, but the simple goal is for her to be delightful as a human being, for others to be around. Someone that can mentor or be good on the field, laugh at themselves and tease a little too. That doesn’t feel like too much to ask.
“Getting that role in the team where I can be happy and joyful and chasing excellence, really appreciating what I’m doing and what I’m able to do.” That’s what’s important, after a stretch when she did not enjoy the sport itself. “Because if I go back, and I go back and feel the same way that I did about soccer and winning and scoring, then that will feel like a bigger failure than not making it back at all.”
“The competitor in me and the perfectionist in me and the Capricorn in me and the Enneagram three in me just wants to be this delightful, great soccer player that has so much fun and scores all these goals and can totally deal with stress and is always laughing,” she said.
That’s the dream part. The real answer is simple.
“With delight.”

Could you explain "Post Regenerative Trauma" (PRT)?
What is Post-Regenerative Trauma (PRT)?
Post-Regenerative Trauma (PRT) is the Gallifreyan equivalent of a very bad hangover. It's a catch-all term for the chaotic mix of symptoms that crop up post-regeneration, which can vary wildly from body to body. The effects are most noticeable in the first 48 hours but can last up to four days.
🩺 Symptoms of PRT
Physical: Gallifreyans can experience anything from fainting, muscle weakness, and dizziness to full-blown cardiac issues. One moment they're fine; the next, they're crumpled on the TARDIS floor, wondering what just hit them.
Mental: Amnesia, confusion, and delirium are very common. The new brain structure is still trying to boot up, so forgetting their own name or what planet they're on is par for the course.
Emotional: The sudden rewiring of neural pathways can lead to erratic behaviour and mood swings. They could go from laughing maniacally to crying over a crooked bow tie in seconds.
Psychological: Dealing with a whole new face and personality can lead to body and psychological dysmorphia. They may find it extremely difficult, and sometimes even scary, to understand who they are in their new form.
Superhuman Abilities: On the plus side, they can experience bursts of superhuman strength, heightened senses, or flashes of genius. Sadly, this turbo mode usually wears off pretty quickly.
🤔 What Causes PRT?
During regeneration, the body is flooded with artron and lindos energy. These make the process possible, but too much of a good thing can cause issues like hyperactivity, irritability, and, in severe cases, physical or genetic mutations—essentially, a form of temporary artron poisoning, known as hyperatronosis. The release of the lindos hormone can also lead to biological hiccups like sudden weakness, seizures, or even a total systems crash.
Oldbloods suffer more severely with PRT due to their lack of control over the process, while Newbloods handle it with far less drama. If the regeneration was triggered by trauma or extreme stress, the emotional fallout can lead to severe PRT. The more dramatic the exit, the messier the entrance.

Sleep: It's crucial. In the case of PRT, a few hours (or days) of rest can work wonders. Keep them away from stressful situations and hand them a nice fluffy pillow.
Zero Rooms & Metamorphic Symbiosis Regenerators: These specialised environments help the body and mind stabilise by reducing external stimuli. It's like a spa day for a stressed-out Time Lord.
Letting Off Steam: Excess artron energy can be expelled through the respiratory system, given to a TARDIS, or even burned off with a good, old-fashioned workout. Anything to get back to baseline.
🏫 So ...
With symptoms ranging from the bizarre to the downright dangerous, please handle post-regenerative trauma with care—and maybe a nice cup of tea. If your Gallifreyan is experiencing PRT, be patient, keep them comfortable, and remember: it's not a bug, it's a feature.

Hey… I like how this page is still chill and calm despite everything happening around. Because it’s so difficult to be a TS fan right now. Like what is happening? Not a single post acknowledging the election, decking herself in red, hanging out with those people :/ it’s getting difficult, because we interpret her clothes, everything she does. Shouldn’t we also interpret what she is showing right now?? I know it’s part of her job. But then couldn’t she have picked a more moderate player someone whose support systems don’t scream maga?? This is a deliberate choice she has made. To fill the pockets of people who are wildly conservative. It’s not even about Kaylor anymore. So many years since that documentary and her so called growth and for her to turn around and do this to her image. I just :/
i don’t think that there is any one correct way to react so please don’t take this as me trying to prescribe a certain way of thinking about it onto everyone, it’s just my way of taking things in. i deeply recognize and respect your sentiments. let me share a bit about where im coming from
i think firstly, i came into this thing in early 2018, during the first trump presidency, and so these big level developments are more like a return to the environment from which i started. i think that it is probably even harder if you’re a gaylor or kaylor that came in to things after 2020. not saying it can’t be hard anyway, it is, but i think this might help give a little background to my mindset
next, i always saw miss americana as a coming out documentary that was pivoted and transformed into an activism-adjacent documentary. at the time a lot of us foresaw what this issues with that would come to be, and i think a lot of us recognized that she was setting herself up for very big image issues unless she took the new direction of the documentary in stride, which some of us assumed would not be something to expect. like, we had hope, but we were able to recognize how nuanced her particular situation was. like i think for a lot of us, the line in anti hero “did you hear my covert narcissism disguised as altruism like some kind of congressman” meant a ton because it showed a level of self awareness about the situation that we all assumed she had but didn’t have many straightforward examples to point to that said as much.
also i think that her unsuccessful attempt to unseat marsha blackburn in 2020 probably sent her spiraling back into the mindset she was in in 2016. that is to say, and im sorry this is an armchair psychologist thing to say but its based on what i observed from miss americana, subsequent interviews, and some of the lyricism of midnights, that taylor might worry deeply that her actions might affect political races negatively, and she might even feel cursed, or afraid of ruining things, by saying something. i don’t want to get into what i or we might think about that from an ethics standpoint because i think it’s an endless conversation but i think its worth pointing out that there is a level of stress that she probably feels that may paralyze her in ways that might not make sense to you or i. once again, im just trying to offer a potential answer as to why, not to make some sort of excuse.
then, past 2020, with the way i see things with kaylor, i believe taylor re-prioritized to focus more on her loved ones than to feedback from her fans. does this explain every move she has made since? not entirely, but i think it is somewhat more understandable —at least to me— than the popular gaylor notion that taylor is single gay and trying to dismantle the system.. or dating some other woman, the potential options of which get floated around do not seem, to me at least, to be people whose circumstances would make it difficult for her to come out or to express her political opinion. the stakes are simply not there for me, so i find these possibilities less likely whereas i find kaylor to offer several more likely scenarios
i’m sorry.. ive rambled on again haven’t i.
as for the way things are going presently, it sure ain’t ideal!! but i’ve decided to believe that the majority of taylor’s decisions up until now were considered and implemented with some level of thought and intention on her part, weighing the benefits and risks to herself and to some extent, the world, but that her thought process and decision making is informed by information and pressures the likes of which you or i simply cannot fully know. i believe that, if i was in her shoes, i would be able to understand how grey a lot of the choices are for her. empirically speaking, a lot of them would still probably not make sense to me but, i believe my ability to understand would deepen.
i think for me what i have decided for myself is that blogging about kaylor here on tumblr is something that is interesting to me and fulfilling in all these weird internet ways, and that so long as i find it worthwhile to my life and so long as i keep meeting and hearing from you or others that tell me they appreciate my.. i guess.. more lighthearted?… approach to it? ill continue. i think its a kind of internet record worth keeping.
also, throughout the years i’ve just reconfirmed again and again for myself that we as fans really do not have an affect on taylor’s or karlie’s actions, especially contemporarily. and i think this has also lifted a little bit of the stress i used to place on myself under the assumption that maybe they might read some of our blogs or our feedback and that maybe i or we had some responsibility to affect them in some way. i just don’t think that’s the case, as they provedly do not listen to the big stuff. and even if they did, i doubt we have the background information needed to provide a truly informed opinion. and oh, i guess, maybe they check in idk idk idk who knows but, i now see this all as an activity in observation chiefly and maybe once in awhile if we are lucky, a comet might pass on by.
ack! i’m rambling again.
i guess one more parting thought related to this in a way is, when i came to tumblr back in 2018, there were a handful of blogs that had a similar setup or demeanor as my blog currently does, and, especially after late 2018, but late 2019 as well, and again in 2020, and i guess again in 2021 😆, i watched as one by one these types of blogs resigned or deactivated. and within this landscape, i recognized there was a need for blogs like these. if they all disappeared… well… it wouldn’t have been good for the ecosystem and the people living it. so as the years went by i continued to build my outlook and blog into what it is presently. hopefully it is useful or provides some space for you or other to unfurrow your brow for a second. rest is also important.
#if you made it to the end thanks for reading the whole thing#i don’t think i’m giving a comprehensive answer but i hope some of it hits

(I know this has a lot to do with meta when it comes to etoiles and it's essential to understand that but also) from a lore/character standpoint do you think etoiles' gentleness and attitude against violence with bad's case yesterday stems more from his past as a warrior understanding when/how to de-escalate a situation and have a softer hand, or from the fact that people keep seeing him as a violent person no matter what he does to help and protect (forever and baghera saying that he might get violent and hurt others because of his scarred arm) ?
Forwarnint: I might be wildly off base here, I'm new to this and I have a feeling my opinions on his relationships to certain things will change as I watch more and more :]
MMM interesting!!! (I actually don't know the meta, I think if he mentioned it his French was too fast for me to understand. But) from in character that's a really good question.
Cause like. I definitely see PHILS ability to handle high stress mental breakdowns as stemming from his ability to descalate,,, but I sort of think like. Oguh okay. This is the first time I've thought about this you're gonna have to bare with me trying to put this all together.
Like I kinda don't see what he was doing as like, something he did in order to contrast violence.
For me I think,q Etoiles is very good at solving puzzles, not in the cellbit way of solving enigmas and stuff, but in the sense of like, he's very very very good at being put on the back foot, and finding ways to move the resources he does have to cover what he needs to. Like I am constantly circling around the fact I think his favourite part of a fight is when he loses control of the battle and has to think carefully about how he's gonna win or survive despite the fact he shouldn't. And I think that sort of mentality coulddd be applied here.
He like, when he got the message that made him understand bad has lost his memory, he steeled himself for what was incoming. When he got to bad he like greeted him like they didn't know each other, matching the energy. Then he sorta tests the bounds of where bad is and isn't at, and then rolls with the punches from there.
Like I am in no way saying he saw his conversation with bad as a battle, like it wasn't summit you win lose or survive, but I dk think his approach to problem solving could be applied here.
There's a very specific way in which qEtoiles thrives in an environment that's out of his control, and therefore I don't think deescalation is the right like, sense of the word, because he never tried to bring things back under control. He sat in the fact it was out if his control and just matched where things were at He just tested the bounds and eventually settled on meeting bad where he was at, and suggesting a memory aid before he had to go.
I also think his patience could be related to the fact he plays the long game despite hating bordem and being impatient instance to instance (another contradiction without hypocrisy love this guy). He puts the hours in grinding dungeons, he will fight the fight for a Long Time. When he commits to something he will do it till its done no matter the time it takes, and I think that ability to like. Make no progress for a long time and see no rewards for a long time helped here as well.
I wanna re-emphasize, qBad is Not a problem to solve, nor a battle to be won. Memory loss is a thing that happens and it sucks. I am saying the skills qEtoiles used to not make things worse for qBad are things that can link to other areas of qEtoiles life and mentality and general approach to things
Idk! Do you got thoughts on it (or anyone else for that matter)
#qEtoiles#etoiles#qsmp etoiles#long lost#(if u have other thoughra add on i need to talk about etoiles or ill thrn tk dusr)

Ask and ye shall receive, @ourskiesaboveus! For anyone who didn't see, I already did the mythology post over here (plus a reblog with Extra Info on some cultural/regional variations):
So now it's time for Cyrinism! Buckle in because, as usual, this will be a long one. I'll be going over:
What Cyrinism is
What Metamorphase/Biorase is and does
An example of how Cyrinism is expressed and what sort of adaptations it comes with
Symptoms of ability development
A full index of recorded Cyrin varieties
Cyrinism's place in Havel's society and culture (at a baseline anyways, I'll go into more detail on a future culture-centric post!)
Some funky language stuff
The genetics of Cyrinism
If that all sounds to your liking, read on!
CYRINISM
alternately: hmm, do I have the flu, or am I developing abilities that will permanently change the course of my life (possibly by killing me)?
I'm going to do a basic overview of Cyrinism as a whole, just to have all that info in one place! So, this may rehash some things I've already briefly mentioned in other posts, just bear with me here.
Let's get started!
Hey Wind, TF Is A Cyrin?
Cyrin (pronounced alternately sigh-ren or see-rin) are humans born with the genetic potential for Metamorphosis, colloquially called the Change. The primary biological difference between a Cyrin and a regular ol' human is that Cyrin's bodies manufacture a hormone known (very creatively) as Metamorphase, or colloquially the only sort-of correct Biorase.
If one is born with this potential, they have a high chance of developing abilities at some point in their lives. These can develop at any point, from birth to old age, though are most commonly developed between late childhood and early adulthood, that period generally being one of high stress and high emotion for an extended length of time. Some other conditions and circumstances can result in earlier development, such as anxiety disorders or a stressful home environment.
Abilities vary wildly in variety and form, but must always adhere to the rule of being physically possible in some way, with the exception and inclusion of the multitude of forms of telekinesis. As an example, a targeted telekinetic ability for liquids may be seen, but more fantastical things such as complete fire immunity or unassisted flight are not (using telekinesis on oneself or on surrounding wind currents, however, could be used to acheive weak flight, though most abilities are not strong enough to fully lift a human being for long). Most abilities can be chalked down to a specialized form of telekinesis, a supernaturally enhanced talent, or unusually strong sensory perception, which collectively encompass a startling variety of individual powers.
As you might imagine, however, many abilities may not be fully possible or without harm to the user without a certain level of physical modification. That's where Metamorphase (or, to an extent, its extracted and processed variety, Biorase) comes in.
When Metamorphosis is triggered, the Cyrin, who up until that point would have lived and been in every way human save for low-level production of said hormone, will undergo minor to major physical changes to accommodate their new abilities. Often, this would kill them, though death rates have been significantly reduced through modern medical advancements; I will elaborate on this later.
These changes and their symptoms of development will vary depending on the ability. An easy example is with Pyrokinesis; the ability to control and sometimes produce heat and flame. They are one of the most commonly studied varieties of Cyrin.
"While seemingly one of the simplest instances of Cyrinism on the surface, the sheer potential of Pyrokinetic-derived Biorase boggles the mind. As long as it is kept stable, it is a near-infinite source of thermal energy, though unfortunately proves to be as volatile as its hosts when contained. Further research must be conducted." - Notes on the Economic Viability of Biorase, Dr. Rhyan Andersen, Protusol Labs
Initial symptoms of Pyrokinetic power development include profuse sweating, a high fever, and callus-like thickening of the skin on hands and lower arms. Other symptoms similar to those of heat exhaustion and hyperthermia can also be noted, including but not limited to: extremely high physical temperature, heavy sweating, severe dehydration, dizziness and fatigue, weak and rapid pulse, and a pulsing headache.
Even after initial development, many abilities have long-term side effects that affect the Cyrin for the rest of their life. In Pyrokinetics, these include perpetually high body temperature, increased difficulty self-thermoregulating (especially in situations of high emotion), being easily and rapidly dehydrated, and headaches and muscle cramps due to mineral loss from excess sweating.
All Cyrin, however, regardless of ability, tend to share common symptoms during their Change; these include extremely high fever, widespread autoimmune response against new tissue growth, severe migraines and occasionally swelling around the brain, dizziness, and severe nausea and digestive upset.
Wind, Show Us The Full Ability List!
Well, you asked for it.
Categories and IDs are those used by the Corynen and Protusol Labs for categorization purposes; they don't accurately reflect the sheer variety and variation of abilities, and only include those that have been clearly observed and researched. Many more theoretically exist that have simply gone unrecorded. (This list is a WIP- feel free to suggest any ideas of your own!)
Cyrinism And You
Cyrinism affects every aspect of a Cyrin's life, both socially and in their personal day-to-day. Abilities, especially in the first few weeks after development while Metamorphase levels are still stabilizing, are very unstable and prone to being triggered by any high-emotion situation, whether negative or positive, especially when the body's natural stress response is triggered. Through stimulation of dopamine receptors and an interconnection with the adrenaline response, the abilities granted by Cyrinism both feel 'good' to use, and are often involuntarily used during moments of panic, despair, anger, pleasure, excitement, and other high-intensity emotion. The release of Metamorphase alongside adrenaline is likely a defensive mechanism, strengthening abilities with the tradeoff of control, but can cause significant issues when paired with conditions such as anxiety or general societal stressors where adrenaline is produced in situations where it is unnecessary. In these situations, as well as those where Metamorphase production has been inhibited or drained for some time and thus the body's resistance weakened, the hormone can become actively harmful, even toxic to the body, and thus very dangerous to trigger beyond base levels.
The latter situation makes taking any sort of Metamorphase-targeted hormone inhibitor extremely risky, as the body will quickly lose its adaptation to the hormone's harsh effects, resulting in any missed dose having severe or even fatal consequences. An insufficient dosage, too, can be harmful; without the hormone's regulating force, abilities may become unstable and cause irreversible harm to their host. Nonetheless, inhibitors are a common prescription for Cyrin whose abilities cause severe detriment to their daily life, or have proved otherwise harmful due to intersection with other exacerbating conditions.
Cyrinism used to be far more fatal. Its recessive nature meant that it could skip through several generations undetected, before making its appearance as an almost certain death sentence for the afflicted child- especially in Havel and its surrounding countries, war-torn and battered from decades of conflict. The Corynen party's rule in Havel brought with it a new era of peace and rapid advancement, especially in the area of specialized medical care for Cyrin, significantly reducing the fatality rate and leading to a population boom of Cyrin as more and more survived to adulthood. Now, beneficial accommodations exist throughout nearly every aspect of society, from school programs for Cyrin children to free medical care for Cyrin and non-Cyrin alike.
However, while a lot can change in two decades, some older sentiments remain. Some chafe against the term Cyrin itself, one brought from another language and culture with the Corynen's leader, and use the original term Cananyene (can-yan-yohn), meaning One cursed by Cana. Language conflicts also arise from the party's name, similar as it is to Korrnyane, meaning One blessed by Korr, indicating it as being in Korr's favour, a controversial statement to some, especially given the party's non-Havellan roots. Variations include Cannanyene and Korenyane respectively, as there is some regional variation in the spelling of the gods' names.
If none of this makes sense to you, make sure you've read the mythology post linked at the beginning of this one! The shorthand is that Cana and Korr are the twin gods of traditional Havellan mythology, representing opposition between destruction/evil and creation/good, respectively. As for language, that's a future post that I'll link here once I make it! The conlang is a work in progress for now.
Other complaints include the sentiment that Cyrin aren't meant to be so common- that intervening in nature's course is wrong, and that they should be allowed to live or die as they will. Given the controversial and rather cruel nature of that statement, it is a rare one in recent years, though still crops up from time to time, usually from those dissatisfied with the government's focus and spending on programs for Cyrin.
Despite such opinions, by and large, the public opinion of Cyrin is neutral to positive. Some have taken to calling them Korrnyane, Korr-blessed, seeing them as gifted rather than cursed. Some families celebrate a Change akin to a birthday, a tradition carried through from similar pre-war celebrations for a child or teen who survived their Change, and traditional medicine and remedies for the sickness of one's Change are still in use with some, a somewhat controversial practice given its lesser reliability compared to modern equivalents.
Not everything, however, is perfect for Cyrin; as with the research into treatment for Metamorphosis/Change came the realization of how valuable the hormone that makes it happen truly was.
Put simply, Metamorphase is a catalyst of sorts; it encourages and controls rapid and specialized cell growth, and after extraction and processing, can be 'programmed' to perform specific and widespread adjustments to those cell's DNA. A useful biological functionality for the bodily modifications necessary to handle, for example, flames and high heat for extended periods with minimal damage, but also for many, many medical applications.
It was a breakthrough, and efforts began at once to try and synthesize the hormone. However, this quickly proved extremely costly and nearly impossible, consequently making natural Cyrin blood a very, very valuable commodity.
The Corynen and their associated laboratory, Protusol Labs, get much of their stores from mandatory yearly blood donation, that of non-Cyrin going to hospitals for general use, and that of Cyrin being processed for research and pharmaceutical use. The general opinion of the practice is... mixed, but most simply treat it as the price for having the medical care to survive in the first place.
The Genetics of Cyrinism
Cyrinism as a whole is a recessive trait with some co-dominant properties. Its inheritance pattern is demonstrated by the chart below:
Confused? Recessive means that two copies of the gene must be present for the trait to present itself, like blue eyes; you need one copy from your mother and one from your father. Having only one copy of the gene makes you a carrier; you will not have blue eyes (or Cyrinism) yourself, but if you have kids with someone else with at least one copy, there's a chance that one of those kids will get both copies and have blue eyes (or be a Cyrin). Co-dominant simply means that the gene still has some effects even if you only have one copy! It just doesn't give the full trait unless you have both.
As indicated, there are three genetic possibilities:
1. Normal Human/non-Cyrin 2. Cyrin 3. Carrier
'Normal' indicates a human who does not carry any copies of the gene(s) determining Cyrinism. They will not develop any abilities, nor experience the side effects of such.
'Cyrin' indicates a human who carries both copies of the gene(s) determining Cyrinism. They will both develop abilities and experience the side effects of development and continued hosting of those abilities.
'Carrier' indicates a human who carries only one copy of the gene(s) determining Cyrinism. They will not develop abilities, though they may experience some mild development symptoms, spurred by their body preparing for abilities that it will never develop. Additionally, they may generally be heartier and hardier overall than someone without any copies of the gene, giving a slight genetic advantage that contributed to the survival of Cyrinism as a trait.
It is, in a way, similar to Sickle Cell Disease in our world. That, too, is a recessive condition with some co-dominant traits. If you have both copies of the gene, you have the disease, and all the painful and potentially fatal symptoms that come with it. However, the same gene that causes sickle cell also makes one resistant to malaria- and that trait also applies if you're only a carrier of the gene. So, you're very lucky if you only have one copy, as you won't have the disease and you also won't get malaria. However, if you get both copies... not so much. (This has been interesting facts you never asked for with Wind.)
Simple enough. The actual mechanic of what ability one gets as a Cyrin, however, is far more complicated, and still under study.
(Obligatory warning that it gets a little technical after this point, so don't worry if it's confusing! I'm happy to explain it all further if you ask!!)
As far as can be determined thus far, the specifics of what ability develops is highly sensitive to the presence of a large assortment of different alleles within the Cyrin gene itself. An allele, put simply, is a little switch that controls a specific trait within a gene. To use a metaphor, whether or not the Cyrin gene is there is like whether or not a specific room is unlocked, and each of the different alleles controls whether a certain decoration exists within that room. If the room is locked, aka if two copies of the Cyrin gene are not present, no decorations can be put in the room. But if it is, there's all sorts of possibilities for furniture! A whole catalog, even! And each entry in that catalog is an allele.
These alleles can influence or overwrite one another- to use the furniture metaphor again, one allele might say that the table is red, but you can't see that beneath the white tablecloth a different allele put on top of it. What specifically each allele controls is still difficult to say, given to what extent they influence one another, and can sometimes result in a child having entirely different abilities than their parents, spurred from a chance combination of the two's various bits of metaphorical furniture and knicknacks. There is an underlying order, but it is one that is often difficult to predict due to the sheer number of variables.
While strictly managed family lines like those of the Families of the Church of the Blind Creator, tend to have near-identical abilities in each consecutive parent and child, a consequence of years of carefully tracked parentage, they are outliers adn should not have been counted.
Okay, That's Probably Enough Information For One Post
If you made it this far, I commend your dedication and am suitably impressed. Thank you for reading, and feel free to ask any questions you may have on... any of this. More posts are coming in the future, so keep an eye out!!

[ aiysha hart, cis woman, she/her ] — whoa! ZAHRA HAMED just stole my cab! not cool, but maybe they needed it more. they have lived in the city for TWO MONTHS, working as a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER. that can’t be easy, especially at only 34 YEARS OLD. some people say they can be a little bit OBSTINATE and RESTLESS , but i know them to be OPEN-MINDED and RESOURCEFUL. whatever. i guess i’ll catch the next cab. hope they like the ride back to QUEENS! —
here's zahra's pinterest for the vibes.
FULL NAME: zahra hamed DATE OF BIRTH: may 11, 1990 GENDER & PRONOUNS: cis woman, she/her
ORIENTATION: bisexual OCCUPATION: postdoctoral researcher PLACE OF BIRTH: minneapolis, minnesota FAMILY: mother, father PETS: a black cat called circe
HEIGHT: 5′10′’ HAIR COLOUR: dark brown EYE COLOUR: dark brown
trigger warnings: mentions of religion, infertility, emotional distress, and smoking.
she’s an only child, born to a mixed race and interfaith family. her christian mother and muslim father brought her up in an environment where questions were encouraged and zahra was taught to argue her views and research new ideas.
despite her status as somewhat of a miracle child - her parents had already come to accept they wouldn’t be able to have children of their own due to a host of fertility issues - zahra grew up knowing a lot was expected of her. both of her parents had grown up with very little and had been able to use education as their way out of difficult home situations. she doesn’t resent her parents in the slightest, but sometimes wonders what her life would now look like if she been given just a bit more space and freedom to discover and make mistakes. still, she’s grateful for the drive her parents instilled in her as it has helped her to keep going even during times of distress. that being said, she has unfortunately picked up a host of rather unhealthy coping mechanisms for said stressful situations.
after graduating from high school at the top of her class, zahra packed her bags and moved to durham, north carolina, where she would go on to attend duke university, studying religion and philosophy. she later completed her phd in columbia university, writing her thesis about religious dialogue and pluralism.
while her life hasn’t always been easy or uncomplicated, it has been rather streamline. she has struggled and put in an enormous amount of hard work to get where she is now, but things have generally gone well for her. however, she has recently gone through something of a personal crisis and is really struggling to find her feet again. to put it simply, zahra has become wildly disillusioned with the academia and is suddenly really not sure she’s happy with her choices in life.
her postdoctoral research has now taken her back to new york city where she conducts research in and around the city. well, that’s what she’s supposed to be doing. however, she has run into a real slump and is struggling to get anything productive done. her self-esteem has taken a hit due to the resent developments, as her sense of self has been so deeply intertwined with her academic and professional success. she previously did a disappearing act, leaving her life in nyc behind, and is currently trying to get her shit together. trying being the operative word. she knows she doesn’t have the time to fuck around, but that’s kind of exactly what she’s doing.
will become visibly grumpy when asked about the state of her research project. that being said, she is procrastinating by researching other things, and has, amongst other things, taught herself french while trying to avoid all her responsibilities. she will soon start picking up and abandoning all sorts of fun pastimes in the hopes of distraction.
while she can be bit of a hermit - she spends most of her time alone, trying desperately to read and write, or avoiding said activities - zahra isn’t the sort of shy, serious person people might expect her to be. she can be incredibly talkative and opinionated, even downright bossy, and genuinely enjoys meeting new people. sometimes she just needs a friend to drag her outside.
looks kind of intimidating unless she’s making a conscious effort to appear approachable. while evidently very intelligent and well-meaning for the most part, zahra sometimes struggles when it comes to socialising and pleasantries.
zahra back arrived to nyc around two-ish months ago, so here are some super vague connection ideas for anyone interested!
the stress has led to a lot of sleepless nights, resulting in her becoming a real night owl. she can be spotted frequenting places that are open late, and can be found chain-smoking and scrolling endlessly on social media. she would've undoubtedly run into some folks with similar schedules and habits.
any people with fun, interesting hobbies. after forming some sort of a connection, she would undoubtedly pester these individuals to teach her stuff. your girl needs to be distracted from the looming doom of her research project.
zahra enjoys noisy music. so, a person willing to accompany her to gigs around the area. she's happiest when it's so loud she can't hear her own thoughts.
definitely people she met while doing her phd in nyc. she left the city a few years ago, but would've spent around five-ish years there before skipping town. she would've definitely had friends and even little romances during that time.

Lol out of curiosity I looked up my old job on Indeed and yes they ARE urgently hiring for the position and if I didn't get treated like dog shit for expecting a stress free work environment with reasonable expectations and not wildly cunty management who seemed to be under the impression they were doing THE most important job at THE most important store ever maybe I wouldn't have just not shown up one day 🤷🏻♀️ asshole thing to do to my poor coworkers but I didn't even have the energy to quit right after spending a month and a half feeling deeply surveilled at every aspect of my job lest I get another frivolous writeup no one else got for doing their jobs worse than me so fine. You want me gone enough to threaten my livelihood and SHRUG when I point out I have rent to pay, fine, but I wouldn't put up with that behavior from anyone in my life generally and I LIKE those people so my JOB pulling bullshit? Oh hell no, if I wouldn't take it from people I CHOOSE to be around on purpose I ain't taking shit from a fucking JOB. I refuse to be in a work environment that's unaware it's a GROCERY STORE, not a 5 star establishment frequented exclusively by world leaders or some shit. Like Sam, my job is cooking food at a fucking sobeys and you're acting as if I'm disarming bombs it's so important get reasonable priorities and standards for employees and then apply them equally to managers and not EXCLUSIVELY minimum wage staff 🙄
Which is funny because my new job everyone seems surprised with how fast I've caught on to stuff down to a coworker yesterday telling me he thought I worked in a shoppers prior to the pharmacy I'm in because Im catching on so quick. This isn't unusual for me either, some time in the last five or so years I've found every workplace I'm at I end up being heavily relied on because I'm good at my job, so fucking sucks to suck for sobeys because it took me some week or so to be consistently praised for being better at the job than the guy I replaced only for them to throw that out because they think management should be able to do whatever the fuck they want while they shove minimum wage staff under a fucking microscope to ensure they're doing their shit right and even that isn't consistent. They punished me exclusively because I did not lay down to be treated as a door mat and dished the treatment I got handed. If you treat me like shit I WILL treat you the way you treat me, no worse, and sometimes a little better because I don't lose my moral standards in that treatment either. Just because I'm being an ass doesn't mean I'm willing to do whatever the fuck, just enough to ensure that the person who's decided I'm their new plaything knows that'll be going both ways so fuck off. I've never had a job so willing to keep on shit management they had at LEAST a dozen meetings with regarding performance and I was the one who got punished for being frustrated about that. But I will take a new significantly less stressful job 🙌🏻
#winters ramblings#anyway theyre “urgently hiring” and if they listened when the fuck i told them i was so stressed i was clenching my fists#so hard in my sleep my hands would be DEAD STIFF and locked in place in the morning and required me to carefully massage them#and exercise the muscles and even then my hands still hurt. i told them ive been throwing up from stress AND i told them i was job hunting#because this was all bullshit. they KNEW where i was at and they should have listened but they didnt so fine#fuck me around 17 ways to sunday teo can play at that game and i didnt come here to be involved in a game at all#but force me onto that fucking biard then dont get mad when i flip it and walk away#im a grown assed adult i have no patience for workplaces that don't understand youre not a fucking slave#and the workplace isnt something Extremely Important And Special its a cucking GROCERY STORE and i wasnt even workinh#one if the jobs that DOES absolutely make a grocery store necessary i made fucking hot food everyone treated as Top Notch Shit#when ut was frozen boxed chicken strips and ut us INSULTING to me to teach me HOW to cook fucking BOXED FOOD#and NO i did bot take that “”“too personally”“' while they were trying to ”improve“ store standards#its fucking BOXED CHICKEN STRIPS guys why the fuck are we treating it like ROCKET SCIENCE??!?#i dont actually think its unreasonable to be angry your manager cannot even trust you to make food from a fucking BOX#without a chef coming in and treating you like some kind of idiot whohas never made a food in my LIFE despite#me cooking a lot more complicated shit at home on a regular basis. give me a fucking BREAK acting as if#it was StOrE sTaNdArD changes or whatever do YOU nit understand boxed food isnt HARD to make or do you need that explained#to you?? like i take shit too personally no YOU have unreasonable standards for EXCLUSIVELY your lowest wage staff#and im NOT bring held to a higher working standard than MANAGEMENT

Luckily for us both, I LOVE long CC rambles AND hearing myself speak.
I'll start with the second paragraph, because I have a bigger talking point for the first that I think requires leading into it with discussion of the second. While I fully agree that idv has flaws and issues even above and beyond cultural differences from western sensibilities, I don’t think western media escapes that either. We may notice it less, or notice it differently, because it’s not being filtered through the magnifier of cultural differences, but it’s still there; sometimes it’s even more insidious. Think about how many times Wizards of the Coast has had to change something because of how wildly offensive it is to native cultures - really, think about how often it's pointed out that some fantasy game has species with REALLY BAD racial coding in western media in general. (But all that said, this is not one vs the other, its shitty that both have these problems and pointing one out doesn’t excuse the other.)
The thing I always try to point out and ask when these conversations arise is - how much do you as a (presumably, American, though that in itself is a very American thing to assume, lmao) know about /China's/ current socio-political environment? How much Do YOU know about what they consider to be offensive, about their political movements, the public reaction to their political movements, or anything about the modern issues outside of "CSS bad" (which, a lot of China agrees with). Do you even know the Chinese presidents name? How much do you expect a chinese company to know about western culture, in return. And you can make a lot of arguments ie: the extent about their resources. But then you have to think back to the first point I made. Bad implementation of their research isn't an issue unique to this company.
Sometimes, the criticisms of the game are VERY real and very serious. Stuff like the the white washing of their POC characters and the costuming of other cultures shouldn't escape criticism, and they have responded to backlash of these things by changing it. But sometimes, it is Very American Sensibilities clashing with foreign cultural standards. As an example. People criticizing Dance in the Snow for "sexualizing chinese culture." You know. People criticizing the chinese company. For sexualizing chinese cultural clothing. (they're allowed to do that. I cannot stress enough how much a chinese company is allowed to market it's own clothing as sexually as it wants) Or, a more subtle and less ridiculous one. Did you know that China has a HUGE issue with physiognomy? It's not my place to talk about at length, because again. I'm white, and the extent to which I CAN talk about it is through second hand research (which I recommend doing your own of) and machine translated weibo discussions. The impression I get with what I HAVE seen is that Phillipe is a criticism of a very real current cultural issue that we as Westerners wouldn't be privy to, and so when his character came out people REALLY focused in on his racism from the perspective of how it historically effected black people in america, and now how it's VERY CURRENTLY effecting the larger Chinese working class.
And. Thats the thing, right? This trend with a lot of younger political types, where they think that to be allowed to like something with these flaws, they have to be hyper critical about EVERYTHING about it. There's this desire for easy snap judgements, and an unwillingness to dissect and engage outside of that snap judgement. And thats really not how engaging with media critically /works./ And this isn't JUST something strictly found in idv, nor just how in people consume media. There's something a lot of modern activists talk about, where they feel guilt and burnout engaging with a world they know is built on moral wrongness. How do you justify buying a new pair of shoes when you know they were likely made by underpaid factory workers? How do you come to terms with putting gas in your car knowing it's another cog in a larger, harder machine working to further pollute the earth. And maybe it feels a little ridiculous to compare your FUN VIDEO GAME to these moral questions, but at the end of the day, it's not just about IDV. How do you engage with any video-game, knowing that the people behind it are burnt out and underpaid? How do you watch movies, knowing that the companies behind them screw their workers out of their residuals and healthcare. And the thing is. I don't actually have an answer for this, either! These are questions people much smarter and much more involved in activism spaces have been asking since long before I've been alive. Sometimes, the most you can do is sit back and acknowledge the flaws of the thing you love, and sometimes those flaws will be a deal breaker for people and sometimes they won't. The most I can personally do is encourage people to not burn themselves sitting on that guilt by talking more about the aspects of the media they love, and try and encourage them to focus more on what makes it worth staying in the game and with the community despite it's flaws.
All of this is to say. Lmao. Man. I've thought about this just as much as you have, and I do get it. I think with all of that established, what I wish for more then anything was that people DID focus more on what they like about the game and stopped putting it through this lens of "The game and characters as in canon is inferior to what I can do with them"
Like I've joked about that before - But I don't actually think I'm a better writer than IDV. The image of IDV in my head isn't inherently superior to what IDV has going on. I think they have something incredibly interesting and unique going on with their setting and characters. I think the way they play into their victorian setting is FASCINATING, I think the way they handle their veteran characters is some of the best I've seen in any media. And like - I'll admit that I'm prone to being overly critical about Certain Writing choices, but at the end of the say I'm able to acknowledge that the reason for that is that I do love the aspects of the game I do. And I wish we didn't have to hide it behind this performance of "Ugh, FUCK this game" to appreciate what about the characters and story we do like, yknow?
The gacha element… yeah thats more insidious, and something even I personally still have trouble getting around when recommending it to people. I find loot box systems to be an overall nasty aspect of the modern gaming industry - Unlike a lot of the stuff regarding it's writing and presentation, I think the gambling aspect of the game can be very PROACTIVELY dangerous to people, and I feel bad knowing that people could have a very real issue with it. But thats the other unfortunate thing. It IS an unavoidable aspect of the modern gaming industry. If a game has online elements, it PROBABLY has some kind of lootbox system. And there's no like. I don't think that one is something that needs dissected like everything else - I think we need stronger laws for videogames including gaming in its core game. But thats neither here note there, and I don't think IDV is uniquely evil for including it. It's just something to warn people about when introducing them to the game.
#At least for the gatcha characters aren't locked behind gatcha like in genshin#its all just aesthetic stuff#which like#it still sucks to miss out on aesthetics BUT I'm glad in a PVP game indivual characters aren't locked away

The difference a proper enclosure can make
Look at this adorable fuckin lizard. Look at it. It's too cute to bear. (On record we Think she's an Oaxacan Spiny/Club tailed Iguana. The person I got her from had no clue what species she is though. We assume female because most males are green, but honestly I have no idea).
First time she (they?) Have ever slept out in the open. Normally Skit is...well, skittish. Hence her name.
But ever since I upgraded her enclosure from a 20 gallon long (the only suitable tank i had at the time) to a 67 gallon tall, the difference has been literally day and night. I fully expected the ultra-neophobic iguana in her to freak the hell out being put in such a huge space - which in a lizard looks like hiding all the time, not eating, etc. but she's done precisely the opposite. Her appetite is bigger than ever and *fanfare noises* I actually have gotten her to eat from my hand! It hasn't even been a week since I moved her over - a very stressful affair in spite of my trying. Normally I use a critter keeper and trap her rather than grabbing so there's minimal contact. But it was too urgent to move her quickly so I had to use The Gloves, which she hates. Tail whipping, (which is why they are leather gloves, cause they don't call em spiny club tails for no reason) biting, hissing kind of hates.
But she got over it pretty quickly and within less than 24 hours was out and about and exploring. I've seen her tongue flick more in the last 3 days than I've seen in three months. (Tongue flicking = happy, curious iguana). She even copies me! If I tongue flick at her she will do it back.
The abrupt change in our relationship has caught me wildly off guard. She used to bolt from me, retreating to her hide as soon as I so much as walked in the room, and she outright refused to have anything to do with my hands (we think she was wild caught, her terror of hands was so severe when I first got her). Now she casually comes up to me (!) And doesnt even mind me moving my hands around her. She is suspicious of them still, and cautious about taking anything from them. But she will gladly eat wax worms from the tip of my finger - the ultimate incentiviser for anything that eats bugs. (And Yes, unlike green iguanas, these guys Do eat animals).
Idk why I'm sharing this here, I'm just so elated that progress has been made and utterly shocked by the abrupt change of its pace. I've had her three and a half months now and in spite of my expectations to the contrary she's thrived in her new set up.
This is what it looks like btw. It's too awkward to take a pic of the whole thing at once so I had to take two.
The hot side, where she likes to casually bask. Look at her sleeping right in the middle of the tank. Unbelievable for such a previously shy animal.
The cool side, with her favorite hide. (And turtle buddy, because it came with her and its important to include familiar objects in New environments) She has a network of burrows she's dug already from inside the hide - she's quite the excavator!
Im really happy with her now. If I wasn't sure I was keeping her before (I was just supposed to foster her until she got better) I definitely am now. The difference a proper setup can make!

Can You Grow Cannabis Outdoors Year-Round? Indoor vs. Outdoor Insights
Cannabis cultivation has seen a massive increase in popularity, especially with more regions legalizing its growth and use. One question that frequently arises among new and experienced growers alike is whether it's possible to grow cannabis outdoors year-round. In this blog, we will explore the challenges and advantages of both indoor and outdoor cannabis growing, comparing year-round growth possibilities, environmental factors, and practical considerations to help you decide the best option for your cannabis cultivation goals.
1. Understanding Cannabis Growth Cycles
Before diving into the details of growing cannabis outdoors year-round, it’s essential to understand the natural growth cycles of cannabis plants.
Cannabis Life Cycle
Cannabis plants typically follow a specific life cycle:
Germination: The seed sprouts, and the root begins to grow.
Vegetative Stage: The plant grows its leaves, stems, and roots.
Flowering Stage: The plant produces buds, the primary source of cannabinoids and terpenes.
For cannabis to flower, it needs a signal to switch from the vegetative stage, which is often achieved by shortening the light cycle (12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness). Outdoor cannabis growing is subject to seasonal changes, with the plant naturally transitioning from vegetative to flowering as the days shorten in late summer or early autumn.
Outdoor Cannabis Growth Seasons
In outdoor cannabis growing, the seasons play a pivotal role in determining when plants can be cultivated. In temperate climates, growers typically plant cannabis in the spring, with harvest occurring in late summer to fall, as the days get shorter.
2. Challenges of Year-Round Outdoor Cannabis Cultivation
Growing cannabis outdoors year-round presents several challenges that can affect yield, quality, and plant health. These factors mainly relate to environmental variables that outdoor growers have little control over.
Climate Limitations
The most significant factor when considering year-round outdoor cannabis cultivation is the climate. Cannabis plants thrive in temperate climates where there are warm temperatures, abundant sunlight, and relatively low humidity. In most regions, these ideal conditions are only available during the warmer months, typically between spring and fall.
Cold Weather Stress: In colder climates, temperatures during winter months can drop significantly, which may stress cannabis plants, especially during the vegetative stage.
Frost Risks: Frost can damage plants, particularly during the late stages of growth, when the buds are most vulnerable.
Sunlight Availability: In the winter, days are shorter, meaning less sunlight, which limits photosynthesis and delays plant development.
Pests and Disease
Outdoor cannabis plants are exposed to a range of pests, such as aphids, spider mites, and caterpillars, as well as diseases like powdery mildew and bud rot. These factors can severely affect the plant's growth, especially in humid climates or when plants are stressed by fluctuating temperatures.
Environmental Variability
Outdoor growing requires adapting to changing weather conditions, which can fluctuate wildly, especially during the transition between seasons. High winds, unexpected rainstorms, and extreme temperatures can all impact plant health and yield.
Indoor Cannabis Growing:3. Year-Round Flexibility
Indoor cannabis growing offers several advantages when it comes to year-round cultivation. With control over every aspect of the growing environment, indoor growers can avoid many of the challenges faced by outdoor cultivators.
Climate Control
The most significant advantage of indoor growing is the ability to control environmental variables such as temperature, humidity, and light. This flexibility allows growers to create the ideal conditions for cannabis plants at every stage of growth, year-round.
Temperature Management: Indoor grow rooms or tents allow for stable temperature control, with most growers aiming to keep temperatures between 70°F to 85°F (21°C to 29°C) during the day.
Humidity Regulation: Indoor growers can adjust the humidity levels to meet the needs of the plants during different growth stages, keeping them between 40% and 70% during the vegetative stage, and reducing them during the flowering stage to avoid mold and mildew.
Light Cycle Control: With artificial lighting systems such as LED, MH, or HPS lights, indoor growers can ensure consistent light exposure for their plants. By manipulating the light cycle, growers can control when cannabis plants switch from vegetative growth to flowering, regardless of the natural light available outside.
Protection from External Elements
Indoor cannabis cultivation offers the benefit of protection from environmental factors such as rain, wind, pests, and disease. By growing inside, cannabis plants are shielded from these external stressors, which allows for healthier, more robust growth.
Consistent Yields
Indoor growing also offers the potential for more consistent yields, as environmental factors do not fluctuate as they do outdoors. Growers can achieve higher yields per square foot, especially with controlled lighting and nutrient regimens that promote plant health and maximize photosynthesis.
4. Indoor vs. Outdoor Growing: Cost Comparison
While indoor cultivation offers control and the ability to grow year-round, it often comes at a higher cost compared to outdoor growing. Here's a comparison of the primary cost factors for both methods.
Initial Setup Costs
Indoor Growing: Setting up an indoor grow operation requires purchasing equipment like grow tents, lights, ventilation systems, and climate control tools (heaters, humidifiers, dehumidifiers). The initial investment can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, depending on the scale and quality of the equipment.
Outdoor Growing: Outdoor growers typically face lower upfront costs, as they need minimal equipment. The primary investment may include seeds, soil, nutrients, and pest control products. However, outdoor cultivation is still subject to local climate conditions, which may increase costs in areas with less favorable growing conditions.
Operating Costs
Indoor Growing: The ongoing costs for indoor growing include electricity for lights and climate control systems, water, nutrients, and possible labor costs if employing additional help. Electricity can be the most significant ongoing expense, particularly with high-intensity lights like HPS or MH.
Outdoor Growing: For outdoor growers, operating costs are generally lower, as they do not need to invest in energy-hungry lighting systems. However, there may be additional costs for irrigation systems, pest control, and occasional weatherproofing measures.
Yield and Return on Investment
Indoor Growing: Due to the controlled environment, indoor growers can typically expect higher yields per plant and more consistent harvests, making the higher initial investment worth it in the long run.
Outdoor Growing: While outdoor growers may have larger plants due to the natural sunlight and space, yields can be less predictable due to environmental variables, such as pests and weather changes. Nonetheless, outdoor cultivation can be more cost-effective for larger-scale operations with less overhead.
5. Maximizing Cannabis Growth Outdoors: Seasonal Strategies
Though outdoor cannabis cultivation has its limits when it comes to year-round growing, there are several strategies growers can use to maximize yields during the warmer months.
Season Extension Techniques
In colder climates, growers can employ season extension techniques to lengthen the growing season and protect plants from early frost. Methods such as using greenhouses, cold frames, or hoop houses allow for a controlled environment that extends the growing season by trapping heat and moisture during colder months.
Selecting Hardy Strains
For outdoor cultivation, it's crucial to select cannabis strains that are well-suited to the local climate. Autoflowering strains, which are not reliant on a light cycle to flower, are ideal for outdoor growing, as they typically have faster growth cycles, allowing for multiple harvests per year in mild climates.
Climate Adaptation
Growers in regions with shorter growing seasons may need to start their plants indoors and transplant them outdoors after the risk of frost has passed. By monitoring weather patterns and adjusting plant timing, outdoor growers can increase the chances of a successful harvest.
6. Conclusion: Which Option Is Right for You?
Whether you choose indoor or outdoor cannabis growing depends on your goals, location, and available resources. If you are looking for year-round cultivation with consistent results and are willing to invest in the necessary equipment, indoor growing is likely your best bet. On the other hand, if you have access to favorable climates and are aiming to reduce costs, outdoor growing can be a more cost-effective option, especially with season extension techniques.
Ultimately, both indoor and outdoor cannabis growing have their unique benefits and challenges. Understanding your local environment, investment capabilities, and cultivation goals will help you decide which method is right for you.

The 15-Minute Timeframe: Friend or Frenemy? Picture this: You’re at a speed dating event. Every 15 minutes, a new potential soulmate sits in front of you. That’s pretty much what trading the 15-minute timeframe feels like. Quick decisions, quick exits, and a whole lot of adrenaline. But while your love life might be fine with a little chaos, your trading account probably isn’t. The 15-minute timeframe is fast, furious, and if you're not careful, it can leave you feeling like you just bought a clearance-sale banana suit you’ll never wear. But, dear reader, I’ve got your back. Let’s transform this frenetic environment into a goldmine of opportunities with scenario analysis—a strategic, under-the-radar technique that most traders overlook. Consider this your secret weapon for those rapid-fire trading moves. The Hidden Scenario Analysis Technique for the 15-Minute Timeframe Now, what exactly is scenario analysis? No, it’s not where you imagine the worst thing that can happen and spend hours stressing about it—that’s just called being human. In the trading world, scenario analysis is all about anticipating different possible market movements and preparing for each one. Imagine it as a chess match with the market, except the board resets every 15 minutes, and instead of a stern grandmaster, you’re battling with unpredictable moves akin to a puppy chasing its tail—chaotic, adorable, but sometimes wildly profitable. Scenario analysis allows you to determine potential outcomes and actions, thus removing some of the unpredictability. Why Most Traders Get it Wrong (And How You Can Avoid It) Here’s a common pitfall: Most traders enter the 15-minute timeframe like they’re storming the fridge at midnight—impulsive, hungry, and making questionable decisions. They set their strategy on just one outcome: “The price will go up, and I will make money.” That’s wishful thinking, not trading. Scenario analysis helps you become the chess player instead of the chess piece. By analyzing various potential outcomes, you’re prepared whether the market breaks out, pulls back, or decides to fake you out harder than an infomercial’s “But wait, there’s more!” The Forgotten Strategy That Outsmarted the Pros Consider this classic move: The Dual Scenario Strategy. It’s a lesser-known tactic that requires you to define two different entry scenarios before placing a trade. Let's say you have identified a key resistance level. Instead of predicting price will either break through or bounce back, you plan for both. Here's the play: - Scenario One - Breakout Play: If the price breaks above the resistance, you buy, anticipating a run upward. Set your target profit at a reasonable level, because you know that even love at first sight cools down after the honeymoon phase. - Scenario Two - Rejection Play: If the price gets rejected and starts to drop below the level, you prepare for a short position. Maybe it’s a fake-out, and the market’s just testing your nerves—you’ve been ghosted before; it’s nothing new. This way, you’re not married to any specific outcome. You’re prepared to adapt, just like the market. Experts say that staying flexible in Forex is the ultimate superpower—except nobody needs to wear a spandex suit, thankfully. The One Simple Trick That Can Change Your Trading Mindset Alright, let’s get real here. One of the simplest but most effective mental shifts for scenario analysis is adopting a mindset that’s more about planning than predicting. A lot of traders fall into the "I know what the market is going to do" trap, which often results in feeling like you just bet your life savings on a horse named “Clearly Underdog”. Instead, what if you approached it like a general preparing for battle? You have Plans A, B, and C, all mapped out. If the enemy (the market) decides to swerve to the left, you know exactly what to do. If it charges straight, you’re ready for that, too. This level of preparedness transforms trading from emotional rollercoaster rides to calculated, low-stress moves. And frankly, your blood pressure will thank you. Ninja Tactics for Scenario Analysis on the 15-Minute Timeframe Now, let’s dig into some of the ninja-level stuff—the kind of tactics that’ll make your trading partners say, “Whoa, where did that come from?” - Conditional Alerts: The Set-It-and-Forget-It Play - Use conditional alerts on your platform (most brokers have this feature). Set alerts for both the breakout and rejection scenarios. This allows you to sip your coffee in peace while everyone else is anxiously glued to their screens. - Automated Order Triggers - This one is a game-changer. Some brokers (like the tools available through our Smart Trading Tool) allow you to set contingent orders. You’re essentially telling your broker, “Hey, if this happens, execute that order.” This automation can mean the difference between smooth, effective execution and fumbling at the keyboard like you’re typing with oven mitts. - The “Mini Range” Approach - In the 15-minute timeframe, price often oscillates within small ranges before a significant breakout. Identifying these micro-ranges can provide excellent entry opportunities for a quick scalping play. You’re not just seeing lines on a chart—you’re seeing the market’s warm-up before the main event. Hidden Patterns That Drive the Market Let’s throw in a bit of spicy insider knowledge: The hidden driver for many of these movements is market sentiment shifts, often propelled by micro-news. Remember, on smaller timeframes, news about a central bank press conference, an economic indicator release, or a sudden tweet by a politician (yes, still relevant in 2024) can turn the tables. Now, how do you factor these into scenario analysis? By staying informed with Latest Economic Indicators and Forex News, you ensure that no sudden news will leave you flat-footed. One click, and boom—you’re ready to anticipate, not just react. How to Predict Market Moves with Precision Here's another secret most traders miss: The volume indicator is one of the best tools for the 15-minute timeframe. In a world where indicators sometimes look like they’re straight from the Starship Enterprise, volume tells you where the money is going—and money is the ultimate truth-teller. Use a simple approach: Look for volume spikes around key support and resistance levels. When a price reaches resistance with low volume, the likelihood of rejection is high—it's like a feeble attempt to punch through a brick wall. But if volume spikes like a toddler hyped up on candy, that wall’s about to come down. Scenario analysis built on these volume shifts is like knowing when a party's about to get wild or when it's time to sneak out early. Common Mistakes and How to Dodge Them Like a Pro - Getting Attached to a Single Scenario - Remember that ex who’d call at 2 a.m. with a “plan” that never actually panned out? That’s how you feel when you stick to just one scenario and the market takes a hard left turn. Don't do it. - Overreacting to False Breakouts - In the 15-minute timeframe, false breakouts are as common as bad reality TV—you see them, you groan, and you move on. Use scenario analysis to plan for these fakes by setting conservative stops and trailing those stops for protection. Less drama, more efficiency. Elite Strategies That Most Traders Are Too Busy to Notice The "Combo Play"” Technique is another underutilized trick that works beautifully in short timeframes like the 15-minute. Here’s how it goes: Combine your scenario analysis with both a momentum indicator (like RSI) and a volume-based confirmation. When your scenario aligns with overbought/oversold signals and volume spikes—well, my friend, you’re about to witness some magic. The combo play keeps you from placing trades on pure instinct and, instead, offers a calculated approach where multiple indicators tell the same story. It’s like assembling a crack team of experts—they each bring a piece of the puzzle, and suddenly, everything makes sense. Wrap Up: Become the Master of Your 15-Minute Universe So, where does this leave you? In a better place than most traders, to be honest. Armed with scenario analysis, the dual scenario strategy, and some hidden ninja tactics, you can approach the 15-minute timeframe not as an impulsive chase but as a structured series of potential opportunities. It’s like preparing for a date—instead of obsessing over one perfect conversation topic, you’ve got a few lighthearted stories, a backup joke, and, worst-case scenario, a few dance moves. Trading the 15-minute timeframe with scenario analysis won’t guarantee a win every time, but it does ensure that you’re trading smart, ready for anything the market throws at you, and—most importantly—not panicking when things go sideways. And if you want more tools to level up your trading game, make sure to grab our Free Trading Plan, join our Community Membership, or even check out our smart trading tool to optimize every lot size calculation like a true Forex ninja. The choice, as always, is yours—but now, you’re ready to make it. Leave a comment below: What’s your favorite timeframe to trade, and have you tried scenario analysis before? Let’s share the love (and the pips)! —————– Image Credits: Cover image at the top is AI-generated Read the full article
