'Her eyes opened to find him looking down on her, bathing her in a light so soft and so warm she felt her body thaw. She nodded and held his gaze as he entered her, barely resisting the temptation to eye his parted lips.

It was the same — the same stretch, the same moan — but the feeling inside her wasn’t a feeling she knew. It was blissful, just as always, and wanting and needy and warm. But this wasn’t reckless or sloppy or desperate, however much desperation lay in Shikamaru’s eyes. This was careful, as thought out and beautiful as his chess, and as terrifying as that was, Temari was happy to let Shikamaru take her.

“Keep looking at me,” he whispered as he began to move. Temari nodded.

“Okay.”
