as much as i love the idea of LQQ taking care of his mortal enemy's adopted child (you know, ending the cycle of hate and violence and all that) and think that it fits in quite well with the other themes of TGCF, there's just one tiny problem with it that i think the fandom tends to overlook.

what kind of irresponsible deadbeat uncle does it make XL???

like guzi is very much his responsibility. first because it's a small child kidnapped by his cousin who has nowhere else to go, and later because it's functionally his cousin's child who has (as far as we know) no other living family. there's really no logical reason for him to go with LQQ (a random guy he's literally just met) instead of returning to XL. and yet XL looks at this arrangement after the big battle and goes, "yep, this makes total sense :D i hope my disciple can take good care of this little kid who technically should be my responsibility while i shut myself in my little cottage and wait for my man to come back from the dead".

like i'm sorry, XL, i love you with my whole heart but. you honestly suck at looking after kids who fall into your care.
