L for lesbian: Dianthe (she/her); Dianthe exists in a fantasy world of my own creation and is a being closely tied to plants. Flowers and other flora often sprout up along her body, but I was too lazy to draw flowers. She has a girlfriend named Jun.

G for gay: Demetrios/Dominic (he/they); Existing in a separate fantasy universe but void of any magical powers of his own, Demetrios is full of anxiety and has several major fears, the most prevalent of which is his nyctophobia, or fear of the dark. He was the first queer character I ever made and has a boyfriend named Hart.

B for bisexual: Alistor (he/him); Another fantasy character, Alistor is the son of a satyr (or at least my take on one) and an unnamed fictional species of wolf people (I was really young when I made the world Alistor comes from; don't judge too harshly). He had a tough childhood, blah blah blah, now he's a bisexual pirate with an ex-navy boyfriend and a best friend who's afraid of sailing but also has concerning levels of abandonment issues and separation anxiety.

T for trans: I felt I had to cover both transfem and transmasc individual, so this letter has two characters working together to hold it up.

Gemma (she/her): I don't have much on this character, unfortunately (which I feel terrible about. Love all you transfems out there ♡. I promise I'll make some better, more in-depth trans girlies in the future.) I do know that she has a lovely and very accepting single mother and an older sister who happens to be a lesbian. Gemma's an absolute sweetheart, though, and is straight but doesn't currently have a partner that I know of.

Archer (he/him): I think this character might've just been closeted/in denial me processing and coping with the fact that I'm trans, but... it's fine. He is from a sci-fi world, and is the righthand man to the leader of a rebellion. He generally has a pretty alt style and I love him and- (I actually have more but too many thoughts so this is what you get)

Q for queer: Margot (she/they); Margot is from the same semi-apocalyptic sci-fi world as Archer, bur her connection is not with him, but with Koa, the leader of the rebellion thing. Margot was born with a condition that is slowly paralyzing her, and her and Koa grew up orphaned in the poorer side of the cities, until basically getting kidnapped by the government and experimented on. Margot doesn't make it, in the end, but it's partially due to her death that Koa, despite being terrified, is inspired to found and lead a true rebellion.

I for intersex: Ven (he/they/any); My earlier disclaimer is especially important in this case, because Ven is not a great person and not at all a representation of intersex people- AT ALL. He (he uses primarily he/him pronouns but doesn't have an overly strict idea of gender) is Alistor's clingy friend, and... he's basically been fucked over his entire life. He's emotionally volatile, has an imcredibly low pain tolerance, and has an... interesting job. He's really not a bad person, though. He cares about his friends, and in the end he really is just trying to make the best of a bad situation.

A for aspec: Carlisle (he/him); Aspec covers a wide range of things (agender, aromantic, asexual, etc), but the character I chose is aroace. Kamryn F. Carlisle (another fantasy character, surprise surprise) was betrayed and killed by his best friend, and then revived by a sea deity. Now he's got trust issues and thinks he's a monster. Throughout the story, he does get close to the others characters, and he is genuinely caring and empathetic, no matter how much he tries to hide it, but he is both aromantic and asexual.

+ for everything else: Vesperine (pronouns depend); Vesperine is my dnd character and I absolutely love them. They are a changeling, and thus can change their appearance, and they can comfortably shift between masculine and feminine forms, their pronouns depending on which foem they are in. They're a spider-themed warlock with a scarved jerboa companion named Paul (perched on their shoulder in this drawing). Obviously, they're genderfluid and also probably not straight but I haven't defined their sexuality. (Also I just really really really wanted to draw them because I love their design, even though I forgot to pride-ify their outfit.)

Zozma and Èmile

Lore (CW for abuse and mention of drugs):

Èmile, the only man in this story and the victim of Zozma’s worse attentions.

Èmile is Zozma’s favorite and head of their private guards. He’s an ex military (Canadian special forces) and has lost many of his subordinates in war. Still bears ptsd for it, which is why after discharge he went into mercenary work, staying away from his family. He was handpicked by Zozma with an astronomical pay and luxury for his family.

When he saves Zozma’s life from an attack, he’s rewarded with the knowledge of Zozma’s true identity as a non human. This though means his passport is burned, his family watched, and he can never leave definitely.

He’s stuck with Zozma, a volatile, extremely paranoid coke addict, who goes into violent rages and is obsessed with imagined betrayal. He risks death daily and trains the other guards on how to survive, trying to protect them from Zozma’s violence and killing.

Zozma takes a particular liking on him, forming an attachment. They seek intimacy and tenderness from him, making him swear he loves them. Obviously, Zozma is possessive, controlling and vengeful, and often hurts him even physically. He fakes affection to survive.

He stays to protect the other guards from Zozma, even if he has to witness their murder. Sometimes he thinks about killing Zozma, but for some twisted reason he can’t bring himself to hurt them. Also, Zozma would have his family killed if he did.

This is Kira, a beloved OC from the story Beasts V Dogs. They're Rouna's friend and, basically, chosen sibling. They're also shown in this and this post. Read more below

CW for a mention of s//cide and addiction

Kira puts up a snarky and sometimes hostile facade, but it easily crumbles against some gentleness. As said, they're all bark and no bite. They're actually quite a generous, humorous and loyal person, despite being hot-headed and impulsive.

Kira has been on their own since they were about 18. They lost their birthing parent Ramira young, of childbirth. Their other parent, Dasumi, was not able to take care of them because of grief, and "left" (which is a euphemism for, died by their own hands) later, after Kira was independent enough.

Kira wandered lost for a while and ended up being groomed in a kind of luxury captivity by a rich couple, The Sinclaires, who had a love for exotic creatures. It's in this setting that they meet Zozma and the two form an explosive roller coaster of a relationship. They will escape, but at what price?

Additionally, Kira is still heavily an alcoholic, but they're trying their best to sober up. It's not linear and they have lots of up and downs.

This story has lots of dark themes because it basically explores in what ways erasure of culture and genocide impacts people. That's why it's so common for my Shara'se OCs to have an unsettling past, and why their families are so broken.
