I see so many modern AUs that have Obi-Wan as like a teacher or something and he always reads romance novels and old history stuff and while I absolutely believe that I think we're missing the opportunity to also have him read really fucked up psychological horror and just general horror novels. Like think of the opportunities:

Anakin: what's happening in your book now?

Obi-Wan: the main character has just realised the ring her boyfriend gave her actually has one of her dead sisters teeth in it :]

Or Cody picking up his book to skim over what it's about and he ends up texting Rex

Now imagine Logan doing this to Wade. He's got his claws partially unsheathed and is pawing at the hand Wade is holding his phone with. Logan tries pulling Wade's hand towards him whilst moving his head in that direction at the same time. Wade has to switch hands and lets Logan just chew on his fingers. It doesn't hurt much so it's fine. Little nomming noises are coming from Wolvie's mouth which can be heard over whatever tv show is playing in the background. They stay like that until Wade decides it's tea time and Logan follows him to the kitchen, ready for his food

Do you think if the trolls all came back, like everything in the main comic did happen and they were alive again. Do you think Feferi would actually forgive Eridan? Yeah, I think they would be! Feferi is one of the trolls who takes dying the least badly (relentless optimism) and Eridan does genuinely feel bad, which means a lot when it's Eridan. I think she really is genuine when she says she wants them to be friends and also that she's really not the type of person to hold a grudge, and like... death is SUPER cheap in Homestuck, it's really not the horrific, irredeemable, irreperable damage that it is IRL - and if you're talking about (Feferi) and (Eridan), then they're both dead (and irrelevent) now, so the score is kind of even.

In general, the fandom - I mean, people in general, really - tend to have difficulty divorcing themselves from other people. We tend to assume that the people and characters they like will hold similar opinions to themselves. This is how people who like Karkat and don't like Eridan can mentally gloss over or even block out their clear, close friendship, or how people who dislike Cronus can end up overlooking that Meenah actually takes his opinion seriously and unironically defends his wizard thing. Feferi really isn't mad at Eridan or upset about dying the way we probably would be, because she's friends with the horrorterrors, relentlessly cheerful, comfortable with death in general, and death is also just not really that big of a deal in this setting. "I'm really sorry about that, that was shitty of me" is honestly probably all the apology she needs, especially if they came back to life anyway.

I truly believe Will Wood is an incredible musician and songwriter and is one of the top lyricists in the last decade both in and outside of the genres that he chooses to play in with absolutely zero irony. i don't want to talk about dream or the fuckass smp ever but everyone is misunderstanding slur discourse and it's pissing me off:

the whole 'dream was RECLAIMING the slur!' excuse is so childishly weak that i'm surprised dream isn't trying to emotionally abuse it for content. everyone using this excuse seems to be willfully misunderstanding how to use slurs - by which i mean there is no 'how to' for using slurs. a slur is not a funny little no-no word that comes free with whatever marginalized identity you have; every community is going to have a different relationship with the slurs associated with them.

the N-slur, F-slur and T-slur have all been used to establish a sense of community and rebellion (though all in slightly different ways) - the R-slur, however, has never been used in a community-building way AT ALL. so when you use a word like the R-slur, a word that has NEVER been used to establish community or rebellion for the neurodivergent community, as an insult against 5 million people (the implication being that watching tommyinnit makes you autistic and therefore 'wrong') then yeah, i don't really buy the 'but i'm RECLAIMING it!!!!' excuse. as someone who used to just throw the word around in the past, i genuinely cringe now when i see other neurodivergent people (especially low-support-needs NDs like dream, because it is ALWAYS low-support-needs NDs like dream) using the R-slur, because it just proves you have no idea about the history of your community or the context of the word; you just want your own N-slur to be able to pepper into conversation without anyone telling you off for it.

so no, dream was not reclaiming the word, and it is not comparable to him getting called a slur by nicholas cantu (and honestly dream trying to find a way to use 'gumball called me a faggot' as an excuse for hurling slurs would be so fucking funny if it weren't so sad and pathetic.) it's not comparable to the N-slur or F-slur or anything like that because, say it with me, slurs aren't a fucking,,, Perk you unlock the second you enter a marginalized community. they're all very unique with very different contexts and histories behind them. this is just another privileged fuckwad grasping at straws to use a no-no word because he knows he's not allowed to use any of the other ones.

Programs have different senses or level of sensitivity based on their function. They can change if upgraded; Tron shares some of his monitor senses with Beck using the disc

Programs designed to monitor a system or involved in communication have heightened senses, and a lot of processing capacity for them. Some programs are designed to get a broad idea of everything, while others are more specialised

Some see the program equivalent of shrimp colours - seeing radio waves is common in tower guardians or those who communicate with the internet.

Programs do not have a sense of smell

Less of a sense of taste than humans (they usually just eat energy, which tastes mostly similar. They can tell if it’s poisoned. Like irl, water from different taps tastes different but not by much.)

They DO have electroperception, and some have thermoception. Same with grid wildlife like bits.

A combination of the two above things lets monitors do that footprint-seeing thing that Dyson and Rinzler do (even if not directly linked in to be able to see system logs for that area)

Structures and vehicles give off different electrical frequencies. Programs whose function is related to those buildings can sense them, and receive signals from that which can hold information and helps them know where to go like they're ants following pheromone trails. e.g. programs in charge of the trains will have Train Sense

Idk how it would be different for Isos. I imagine there’d be a lot of similarities but their senses adapt/change based on their circumstances - getting stronger when needed and weaker when not

i think a major thing that is overlooked in the x files is that when they do their little cutscene of them driving from washington dc to the bumfuck middle of nowhere at the start of each episode, their roadtrips must be SO long. so what are they doing in that time? are they fighting over which radio station to listen to? filling the silence with conversation? is that how they become inseparable, over mind-numbing hours on the road where stories slip off of the tongue with ease?

ranking hunting dogs by how well i think they can cook

tachihara. this might be a controversial rating but I do think the boy can cook. i mean with his ability he could multi-task a lot of the process at once. i don't think he's like a gourmet chef or anything but he's got a decent amount of recipes under his belt, and let's be honest, he totally had to learn to fend for himself cooking-wise. it was either learn or starve. whenever he spends time in the hunting dog base after a long time away he makes everyone a meal.

jouno. if he's in a kitchen that has the proper accessibility aides he's an even better cook than tachihara, but he struggles in unfamiliar spaces (understandably). he enjoys a lot of the technical processes of cooking and cares a lot about what goes into his food.

tecchou. okay hear me out here. tecchou is a perfectly fine chef in terms of the actual cooking. he can make rice and cook meat and chop vegetables, etc. he just has absolute dogshit taste in pairings and seasonings (as seen in canon). makes the most diabolical pairings.

fukuchi. this guy got shipped out to war at 18 and hasn't looked back since. too worried about the end of the world to learn how to cook rice. and he keeps accidentally chopping cutting boards into pieces with his ability.

teruko. love her to death, absolutely cannot cook to save her life. girl has never lived a life outside of being a soldier. she never saw the point in learning how to cook. tachihara offers to teach her a little and she nearly burns down their command center (she's secretly a little glad, she wants to keep eating his cooking). she is limited to only microwave use.
