Over the weekend I’m going to work on a mini series offering some very simple and practical suggestions to help you sit with, and hopefully move through, some of the difficult thoughts and feelings that are showing up for a vast many of us at this most tricky time. One of the main things I will focus on is *Uncertainty Distress* . . . Til then, here’s a few steps to checking in on yourself. I strongly recommend practicing this at least 2-3 times per day, purposefully punctuating your day with some paying some mindful attention to what’s going on for you internally. This might naturally lead you to generating some ways to feel better, or it might not. . . Doing something FAMILIAR (think reminiscent it childhood) will help to stimulate recognition signals in your brain, giving you a brief sense of increased control. This is a grounding strategy that won’t move mountains, but might just help you to feel that little bit more grounded. . . Things feel totally out of sorts right now for most people, even if their lives haven’t been dramatically impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Needing me some ocean grounding. That connection to nature , to oceans ,waves and sand . The moon and its tides , the smell of the sea and it’s nature , it’s green it’s waterfalls, it’s breeze .It’s ability to connect you to all of your senses that feeling of the sand between your toes or the water as you walk against the waves it’s sounds pulling you to centre ..but more importantly it reminding you to breathe! Need to remind myself to commit to micro habits of change . To mindfully let go and breathe to try put all the pain and struggles I have with crps aside and to practice more mindfulness ... even when it feels like my body is raging a war against me . I must keep trying frighting to make small changes and keep going .
