#I think they mainly speak English because 1 they have very English names #and 2 they end up in New York (I think) after they get to the human world and don't seem to have any trouble communicating (via @nomi9006)
These tweets by @whamss will never not be funny to me:
But yeah based on chapter 179 it looks like the North American Ratri headquarters are in (former?) New York City (harder to say exactly where they initially washed up since the Ratri jet could take them anywhere fairly quickly), and presumably English is still the de facto language there, which is what I defaulted to as well with the option I chose.
#although I also think that at least the GF kids can speak multiple languages #helps make their brains more yummy #the different farms having different dialects isn't something I thought about it would be pretty interesting (via @nomi9006)
Hmm! In keeping with the series' commentary on the oppressive nature of the farm system and its use of standardized testing equating to a child's worth, I think all the premium farms would instruct in the standardized English of the era.
The variety in dialects would be greater when they were first established around six hundred years ago:
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 1)
Due to the placement of each farm's corresponding portal in the human world, potential introduction of genetic variety pre-artificial insemination, and unique events playing out at each of the farms leading to variants. The advent of modern globalization would lead to more uniformity from what was introduced to them from the human world, but their isolation from each other in the demon world would result in them having their own histories and quirks that would in turn influence at least their vernaculars.
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 3)
Grace Field would probably remain as the most proper and standardized due to its size making it easier to control this evolution and because the most investment was put into it (also leading to it being the only premium farm to inject trackers into the children)
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 3 Q&A)
But Grand Valley was large enough that none of the Goldy Pond Resistance members knew each other pre-shipment (or they were rigidly separated by grade), which means Glory Bell would probably have the largest amount of variety with its town-like set-up.
Also it could always be a throwaway line, but Isabella states she named Ray after Ray Charles while looking at a record.

(A reward for scoring high on the official site's IQ test, reprinted in The Promised Neverland Art Book World; one of the few times we get to see them with their short sleeves for warmer weather.)
Assuming she's not lying and that headquarters provided her with a record player so she didn't have a record collection around solely for the Aesthetic™, the kids' pronunciation could be influenced by whatever music was allowed to cross between worlds. Grace Field would be more tightly controlled, but who knows what kinds of electronics the kids at the other three premium farms had access to.
*All the farms have English as their primary language of communication, but each farm has a different secondary language they also teach. **I don't have general headcanons for the farms as a whole, but I headcanon specific human characters as multilingual besides Ayshe and Norman speaking the old demon language (share in the reblogs/replies)
Headcanon and not canon because it's more interesting and because for simplicity sake's I think Shirai would say everyone living in the demon world speaks and writes in English by default for reasons below the cut:
• The Western setting was chosen to intentionally make the anachronistic aspects of the farms feel more natural:
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 1)
• The majority of the legible text shown not related to the original faith is in modern English in the Japanese raws for both humans and demons (them using international Morse code and sounding it out in English as opposed to using Wabun, the signs in Goldy Pond being in English) due to Shirai writing for a modern audience:
(Chapter 1 | 4 | 17 | 41 | 52 | 57 | 64 | 65)
However, Shirai's never said other languages weren't formally taught at Grace Field besides Latin:
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 4 Q&A)
And even if the children were being taught to the tests for commentary on standardized testing, you could argue the kids could learn on their own time if language books are classified under the arts based on the first light novel's description of the library's contents:
(TPN Light Novel 1: A Letter from Norman - “The Day Emma Cried”)
With the issue of "why didn't Ray ever bring up learning other languages after reading all the books in the library?" coming down to the same reason as this:
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 6 Q&A)
He just never brought it up. _(:△」∠)_
Also to promote @puff-poff's demon culture posts (found here and here):

#I mean. she's an emotional child and should be allowed to cry #no need for shaming tears (via @officersnickers)
One of my favorite things about the series is how it doesn't shame any of the characters for crying, regardless of gender.

(Chapter 55)
So I think Silent's ire is rooted in the simplification and sanding down of her character in order to more easily facilitate stock narratives/scenarios rather than the act of Emma crying at all, especially when it's such a significant moment of "The Day Emma Cried" short story from the first light novel (released back in 2018) that it's the focus of the title and it's laid out plainly in the text itself as something that both Norman and Ray recognize.
Norman notes it again years later during chapter 4/S1 episode 2.
It's why his reunion with Emma in chapter 118/chapter 119 is such a striking moment with how her tears initially seem to flow without any preamble, only wordless disbelief as the magnitude of everything happening rapidly registered in her brain and a figurative switch has been flipped.

It's not that she doesn't experience those emotions, but that it's not how she generally regulates and expresses them.

(Chapter 3 | Chapter 49 | Chapter 109 | Chapter 110)
I'm assuming the fanfics in mind weren't having her cry as part of a character study examining the ramifications of how being thrust into a leadership role at such a young age and internalizing so much trauma while maintaining a front for the sake of others and leaned into being more tropey, which is something that people are free to write as an exercise in flexing their creative muscles, but it's not something I'm keen on reading either.
Alright, so something tha really bugs me in the tpn fandom, particularly in fanfics, is how they characterize Emma. There's a lot of fic I've read that make her a crybaby. Now there isn't anything wrong with a character being a crybaby but it isn't accurate for Emma. Yes she's emotional and sensitive and open about it, but you need to remember that she's canonly only ever cried 3 or 4 times in the span of 15 years.
#personally I blame S2‚ (cishet) ship brainrot‚ and that the light novels were only officially translated into a few languages#so they aren't as easily accessible or even well known by more casual fans#though even if they were we're already inhabiting a niche fandom where the light novels aren't the main text nor are they written by Shirai#so it's seen as more acceptable to play more loosely with the events that happen within them than with the events in manga canon#and still be considered canon compliant#FSS Chatter#Emma#TPN Fanfic#Fandom Salt#TPN Light Novels#The Day Emma Cried#A Letter from Norman#nomi9006#Pre-Canon#Norman#Noremma#Search for Minerva Arc#TPN 055#King of Paradise Arc#TPN 118#TPN 119#It can be a difficult balance‚ wanting to encourage young and/or inexperienced writers#because how is one supposed to better their skills if they don't write something to exercise and flex their creative muscles#and there's a falling back into the familiar both in one's own life and what they've seen in other media#but on the other hand if I feel like a fic is straying into this territory with her character#where she's being molded to fit the narrative/scenario instead of her shaping the narrative through her actions and choices#I'm going to dip out#swear I never see this with her when she's paired up with Gilda#maaaybe with Violet? but even then nowhere near as often as with NE or RE lol#cishet ship brainrot a hellavu drug

you know what fuck it, I love you historical spelling. I love you weird fossilised preservations of obsolete alphabets, grasping for something that exists now like mist, like liquid, its true pronunciation lost to time but not quite forgotten, not yet. a ghost remains, a friendly one, comfortable in this old house. I love you repurposed letters for phonemes that neither the old language nor the variety they were borrowed into has any need for anymore. I love you sensible vowel pairings that have grown - improbably - centuries later, into unwieldy diphthongs, quietly thriving in an ever-shifting environment like weeds nestled cosily beneath the shade of grander plants that have long since turned to mulch. I love the word 'diphthong' (the little thicket of consonants in the middle of it, sprouting up from nowhere to trouble tongue and penmanship alike). I love how Phoenician fingerprints remain in a Norman revision of an Anglo-Saxon reworking of a Roman borrowing of a Greek repurposing, all these shapes and signs moulded again and again like clay, like mud, spun like flax to carry all those lovely glides and nasals and obstruents which come and go and come and go over time as the sounds mutate and grow apart, and the people grow and age and die, leaving behind nothing except (sometimes) a page. a poem. a piece of themselves, their voice, rendered in imperfect beautiful scratchings whose contours match the ceaseless flow of time, heavy with all that history and somehow also light with the sheer urgency of being written. look at it, isn't it wonderful? this moment in time that holds within it yet other moments? other echoes calling down through the centuries? this is how we spoke, this is what we sounded like, once. this is how we thought our ancestors would have said it. I love the inconvenience. English is so hard to learn. the spelling is so illogical. so cumbersome. it's frustrating. it makes no sense. it's inconvenient. yes and yes and yes, and yet you too are inconvenient, you too are inchoate and too much and you fail to resolve into a neat and comprehensible order. but look at you. how lovely you are. I treasure you. why should the words you speak be any less lovely.

Yes, hello, I love your blog, you're my only window into what the fandom is doing and I could always completely skip the manga and just stick to reading here. So, about your poll of popular theories, I saw something about the demon world being underwater, would you mind elaborating, please? It's for research. For a fanfic 👀
[The poll in question]
I'm always going to advocate for reading the manga, not just because of what happened with S2, but also to see all the gorgeous detailing Demizu puts into her work that's lost in the transition to TV animation, along with her playing with perspectives/proportions in relationship to power dynamics.
(Chapter 1 | S1 Episode 1)
But thank you! <3
My understanding was the theory of the demon world being underwater was introduced by @couldnt-think-of-a-better-name, who was mainly active during the series' heyday (February 2019-July 2019, between the releases of chapters 123-142 during the King of Paradise and Seven Walls arcs and when S1 premiered in Japanese and English).
• Main post about the theory • Secondary post about Lambda-7214 being a coordinate • Neat edit of chapter 7's, chapter 16's, and chapter 2's cover art • Volume 13 Special Edition mini-artbook art hinting at the trajectory of the series
I think it's interesting in how the Seven Walls search party traverses what we're presented with as the entire demon world to find clues about Cuvitidala and the Seven Walls, yet the largest body of water we see anyone interact with is a pond. Nothing close to an ocean that would present them with difficulties such as building a boat or buying one from demons.

(Chapter 60 | Volume 8 Title Page | Chapter 99 | Chapter 100 | Chapter 102)
Shirai also confirmed the elevator at Goldy Pond takes one to "a certain forest in Australia" (out of 458 forest communities).
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 3 Q&A)
While the stairs under Grace Field headquarters seem to land one somewhere on the east coast of the former United States of America.

(Chapter 178 | Chapter 179)
There's the imagery of the Statue of Liberty, leading me to believe the North American headquarters for the Ratri clan are located in (former?) New York City, but I don't know if I would necessarily say they wash up on the city's shores since Mike takes a jet out to meet them and the children aren't freezing in the November weather there. There's also the impracticality of after coming back from the demon world to transport goods or just traverse between the worlds you conspicuously land out in the open on the beach, so I believe it was the demon god's meddling that sent them to this beach, and the proper exit in one specific, singular location like the Goldy Pond one is somewhere else in the area. Two specific locations located in opposite hemispheres in our world, yet in the demon world you could potentially travel between the two passageways on foot in approximately a week based on the time it took the kids to reach the shelter at B06-32 (one day of initially wandering through the forest, five days traveling with Sonju and Mujika, and one day walking through the wasteland) and how long it took Yuugo, Emma, and Ray to reach Goldy Pond (four days) if it was a straight shot.

(Chapter 49 | Chapter 60)
It all leaves me very curious about how large the demon world is compared to the human world and how the demon god decided to split the two worlds up.
It's also interesting how despite all the water imagery in the series, we don't see any rain in the manga outside of the chapter 28 cover art (mentioned in the fourth post of that list):

But the anime chose to have a very light rain overlay during the second episode while not animating the ground or characters getting wet:
It rains in the light novels.
(TPN Light Novel 1: A Letter from Norman [June 2018] - "The Day Emma Cried")
(TPN Light Novel 4: Films of Memories [December 2020] - "Operation Stormy Night," originally published in Minerva Confidential Report Report Volume 1 that was packaged with the first volume of the Japanese S1 blu-ray in March 2019)
And we see the children playing in the snow in the past.
(Chapter 10 Bonus Scene)
#my favorite fan theory is Norman is a Ratri‚ though I don't know if they were the originator or main proponent of that one#along with Sienna is Emma's bio mom‚ Matilda is Norman's bio mom‚ and Emma & Carol and Norman & Sherry being bio (half) siblings#but I think this one's fun to play around with too#couldnt-think-of-a-better-name#The Promised Neverland#Yakusoku no Neverland#TPN#TPN Meta#FSS Asks#FSS Chatter#Long Post#Read More#Mystic Code Book#Minerva Confidential Report#TPN Light Novels#A Letter from Norman#The Day Emma Cried#Films of Memories#Operation Stormy Night#TPN S1#TPN S1e02#TPN 010#TPN 028#TPN 001#TPN S1e01#TPN 060#TPN 062#TPN 099#TPN 100#TPN 102

The lives of a gay couple who lived in a Dorset village for nearly six decades have been turned into an exhibition. Norman Notley (1890–1980) and David Brynley (1902–1981) moved to Corfe Castle in 1923 and lived openly as a couple, despite homosexuality being illegal at the time. The two men were successful musicians who sang together in Britain and the United States and they had many friends in the art world. Photographs and diaries on display at Dorset Museum reveal they lived peacefully with the local community for 57 years until their deaths.

In 1973, local people organised an event for the couple to celebrate their 50 years in the village. Museum director Claire Dixon said: "They were known as 'the boys' quite affectionately by the community. "They didn't throw the party, the community threw it for them. "When lots of people were having to hide the fact that they were gay, or think about their behaviour in public space, it seems that they were able to live quite a peaceful life in the village." The couple shared a passion for creating art as well as collecting and Notley bequeathed his collection of paintings to Dorset Museum. Despite being able to live authentically, the only image in the collection of them being affectionate to one another is a photo of Brynley kissing Notley on the cheek.
Notley died in 1980, aged 90, and Brynley a year later, aged 81. Maisie Ball, an archaeology student at Bournemouth University, began digitising the couple's photographs and transcribing their journals and letters as part of a work placement at the museum. She said: "Being able to share their story has been so important as there are not many collections like this that give a glimpse into the lives of LGBTQ+ people from this time period. "The photographs that have stuck with me the most are the ones with their many dogs and the rare few of Norman on his own, where you get to see a glimpse of his personality." The display, curated by Ms Ball, with advice from Prof Jana Funke of the University of Exeter, is on display throughout February to coincide with LGBT+ History Month. (Full article)

While we’re on the subject of names, is there an explanation for how traditional nicknames came about that are seemingly unrelated to, or have little in common with, the original name?
ie- John/Jack, Richard/Dick, Henry/Harry/Hank, Charles/Chuck, Margaret/Peggy/Daisy, Sarah/Sally, Mary/Molly, Anne/Nan, etc
I am actually over a week into researching a huge follow-up post (probably more than one if I’m being honest) about the history of nickname usage, so I will be going into this in much, much more detail at a hopefully not-so-later date - if I have not lost my mind. (Two days ago I spent three hours chasing down a source lead that turned out to be a typographical error from 1727 that was then quoted in source after source for the next 150 years.)
As a preview though, here’s some info about the names you mentioned:
The origins of a good portion of common English nicknames come down to the simple fact that people really, really like rhyming things. Will 🠞Bill, Rob🠞Bob, Rick🠞Dick, Meg🠞Peg.
It may seem like a weird reason, but how many of you have known an Anna/Hannah-Banana? I exclusively refer to my Mom’s cat as Toes even though her name is Moe (Moesie-Toesies 🠞 Toesies 🠞 Toes).
Jack likely evolved from the use of the Middle English diminutive suffix “-chen” - pronounced (and often spelled) “-kyn” or “kin”. The use of -chen as a diminutive suffix still endures in modern German - as in “liebchen” = sweetheart (lieb “love” + -chen).
John (Jan) 🠞 Jankin 🠞 Jackin 🠞 Jack.
Hank was also originally a nickname for John from the same source. I and J were not distinct letters in English until the 17th Century. “Iankin” would have been nearly indistinguishable in pronunciation from “Hankin” due to H-dropping. It’s believed to have switched over to being a nickname for Henry in early Colonial America due to the English being exposed to the Dutch nickname for Henrik - “Henk”.
Harry is thought to be a remnant of how Henry was pronounced up until the early modern era. The name was introduced to England during the Norman conquest as the French Henri (On-REE). The already muted nasal n was dropped in the English pronunciation. With a lack of standardized spelling, the two names were used interchangeably in records throughout the middle ages. So all the early English King Henrys would have written their name Henry and pronounced it Harry.
Sally and Molly likely developed simply because little kids can’t say R’s or L’s. Mary 🠞 Mawy 🠞 Molly. Sary 🠞 Sawy 🠞 Sally.
Daisy became a nickname for Margaret because in French garden daisies are called marguerites.
Nan for Anne is an example of a very cool linguistic process called rebracketing, where two words that are often said/written together transfer letters/morphemes over time. The English use of “an” instead of “a” before words beginning with vowels is a common cause of rebracketing. For example: the Middle English “an eute” became “a newt”, and “a napron” became “an apron”. In the case of nicknames the use of the archaic possessive “mine” is often the culprit. “Mine Anne” over time became “My Nan” as “mine” fell out of use. Ned and Nell have the same origin.
Oddly enough the word “nickname” is itself a result of rebracketing, from the Middle English “an eke (meaning additional) name”.
I realized earlier this week that my cat (Toe’s sister) also has a rebracketing nickname. Her name is Mina, but I call her Nom Nom - formed by me being very annoying and saying her name a bunch of time in a row - miNAMiNAMiNAM.
Chuck is a very modern (20th century) nickname which I’ll have to get back to you on as I started my research in the 16th century and am only up to the 1810s so far lol.
#names#nicknames#onomastics#history#asks#nicknames are really hard to research you guys#there is so much info out there and it's almost all nonsense#and I'm talking academic books with listed sources not buzzfeed listicles#some guy in the 18th century forgetting to mention Bill on a list of common nicknames does not mean it wasn't in use at the time ma dude#i've had to get very creative with sources#god bless word for word murder trial testimony

In 2024, wealth concentration rose to an all-time high. According to Forbes’ Billionaires List, not only are there more billionaires than ever—2,781—but those billionaires are also richer than ever, with an aggregate worth of $14.2 trillion. This is a trend that looks set to continue unabated. A recent report from the financial data company Altrata estimated that about 1.2 million individuals who are worth more than $5 million will pass on a collective wealth of almost $31 trillion over the next decade.
Discontentment and concern over the consequences of extreme wealth in our society is growing. Senator Bernie Sanders, for instance, stated that the “obscene level of income and wealth inequality in America is a profoundly moral issue.” In a joint op-ed for CNN in 2023, Democratic congresswoman Barbara Lee and Disney heiress Abigail Disney wrote that “extreme wealth inequality is a threat to our economy and democracy.” In 2024, when the board of Tesla put to vote a $56 billion pay package for Elon Musk, some major shareholders voted against it, declaring that such a compensation level was “absurd” and “ridiculous.”
In 2025, the fight against rising wealth inequality will be high on the political agenda. In July 2024, the G20—the world’s 20 biggest economies—agreed to work on a proposal by Brazil to introduce a new global “billionaire tax” that would levy a 2 percent tax on assets worth more than $1 billion. This would raise an estimated $250 billion a year. While this specific proposal was not endorsed in the Rio declaration, the G20 countries agreed that the super rich should be taxed more.
Progressive politicians won’t be the only ones trying to address this problem. In 2025, millionaires themselves will increasingly mobilize and put pressure on political leaders. One such movement is Patriotic Millionaires, a nonpartisan group of multimillionaires who are already publicly campaigning and privately lobbying the American Congress for a guaranteed living wage for all, a fair tax system, and the protection of equal representation. “Millionaires and large corporations—who have benefited most from our country’s assets—should pay a larger percentage of the tab for running the country,” reads their value statement. Members include Abigail Disney, former BlackRock executive Morris Pearl, legal scholar Lawrence Lessig, screenwriter Norman Lear, and investor Lawrence Benenson.
Another example is TaxMeNow, a lobby group founded in 2021 by young multimillionaires in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland which also advocates for higher wealth taxation. Its most famous member is the 32-year old Marlene Engelhorn, descendant of Friedrich Engelhorn, founder of German pharma giant BASF. She recently set up a council made up of 50 randomly selected Austrian citizens to decide what should happen to her €25 million inheritance. “I have inherited a fortune, and therefore power, without having done anything for it,” she said in a statement. “If politicians don’t do their job and redistribute, then I have to redistribute my wealth myself.”
Earlier this year, Patriotic Millionaires, TaxMeNow, Oxfam, and another activist group called Millionaires For Humanity formed a coalition called Proud to Pay More, and addressed a letter to global leaders during the annual gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Signed by hundreds of high-net-worth individuals—including heiress Valerie Rockefeller, actor Simon Pegg, and filmmaker Richard Curtis—the letter stated: “We all know that ‘trickle down economics’ has not translated into reality. Instead it has given us stagnating wages, crumbling infrastructure, failing public services, and destabilized the very institution of democracy.” It concluded: “We ask you to take this necessary and inevitable step before it’s too late. Make your countries proud. Tax extreme wealth.” In 2025, thanks to the nascent movement of activist millionaires, these calls will grow even louder.
#it's nice to think about but it's not going to happen anytime soon#not with this congress and president

Freddy Krueger
Oh, he knows
There isn't a way for you to be discreet when he can literally enter your mind every night
That's how the admiration started for you in the first place
Seeing him there, taunting you in such a creepy and yet powerful way
Something drew you in
And the feeling is mutual
I mean, why else hadn't he killed you yet?
He keeps his eye on you whenever he can, sometimes ensuring your dreams are happy and not all nightmares
Some are still terrifying though
He knows you like the thrill
You've tried to surprise him with gifts and letters a couple times, but he knows about them before he even receives them
You really can't keep anything from this guy
And don't even think about taking anything back
You started this whole "game" between you two
There's no way out now
Michael Myers
He immediately assumes the worst
The moment he sees the gifts and letters left for him, he quickly believes that someone is out to get him
You're trying to play mind games with him, but it won't work
Nobody will ever best Michael
He watches you for a while, plotting his moves carefully and thinking of the best way to get back at you for your taunting
There really wasn't anything about your gifts that seemed threatening to him
In fact, he quite liked a couple of the things you gifted him
Well, as much as Michael could like something other than killing
And this is partly what angered him so much
How on earth could you know him well enough to gift him such items?
He was going to get answers one way or another
And it was going to be soon
Jason Voorhees
He's honestly just baffled
How did you even find him in the middle of nowhere?
And even worse: what were you plotting?
No one has ever shown him kindness before besides his mother
This type of attention is so foreign to him that he just assumes you have the wrong person
This was all just some weird accident
But he's happy to play pretend for a while
And if the gifts suddenly stop, he can't help but feel disappointed
You must have finally figured out that he wasn't the one you were trying to impress
He won't be the type to try and figure out who you were
It all just seemed too sweet to be real, and he just wanted to play into the fantasy for a while
It was nice while it lasted
Thomas Hewitt
He quickly guesses that this is just some poor joke being played by someone in the family
No one comes out here
If they do, they're dead
And if a person was really wanting to surprise someone, there was no way he would be that someone
But after days of keeping his eye out, none of his family seemed to be acting suspicious
So this is just odd
He goes on and lets the gifts keep coming
It honestly gives him something to look forward to each week
But after a while, he becomes too curious on who you are
So he does what he does best: he sets a trap
Nothing to hurt you, but he just has to know who this secret admirer is
He doesn't want to go another day without feeling this level of kindness ever again
Bubba Sawyer
A gift? For him?
This has to be Christmas, right?
He prances around the house every single time, flaunting whatever new item you sent his way
He truly believes that you must be his guardian angel looking out for him
That's the only explanation
But as many know, Bubba isn't very patient
If he's craving something sweet, he immediately takes the candy, no questions asked
So don't expect to be a secret for very long
He's going to do whatever it takes to "catch" you
That way, the gifts and fun will never end!
You sort of dug yourself into a whole with this
But don't worry
He'll treat you just as sweetly
Brahms Heelshire
He doesn't react as badly as one might think right away
He just assumes the gifts are from his parents
But after receiving his first letter, he realizes this is more romantic in nature
And this is quite a dangerous game you're playing
Since he immediately becomes obsessed
He'll kindly play this game with you
He'll leave the doll near the main window, coaxing you to come take a deeper look
He'll start to leave the door unlocked or a window cracked open in hopes you'll be tempted to take a trip inside
But unfortunately, Brahms is as shallow as he is dangerous
If you are a beauty, he will gladly whisk you away into his home
But if you aren't what he pictured you to be, he will dispose of you
You've created this idealistic image in his mind, and he needs it to be perfect
Norman Bates
He probably reacts the most "normal" out of anyone else
He's surprised of course, but he happily takes the gifts and finds a little drawer at home to keep them
He likes to pull them out whenever he is feeling down
With how shy he is, he won't be the one to step up and try to confront you or figure out who you are
He kind of likes the mystery
Although, he does hope one of these times you will finally reveal who you are to him
If the gifts suddenly stop, Norman will become a lot more upset than he could have predicted
It can be so lonely where he is, and he finally thought maybe he was making an actual connection with someone
He may make a trip to the nearest town in order to people-watch for a while
He secretly hopes there will be some sign that will make you known to him, but that's clearly wishful thinking
Billy Loomis
He's flattered, don't get him wrong, but you are certainly not the first nor the last to admire him from afar
He's gotten several secret admirers in his day
I mean, look at him
He'll gladly take your gifts or letters with pride, but they'll likely get thrown in with all the other trinkets he's gathered over the years
If the gifts suddenly stop however, he'll act like it doesn't phase him at all
But he becomes curious on why you stopped
And this curiosity soon becomes obsession
Every killing he goes on, he'll raid the house, trying to find any sign on who his secret admirer is
Why would you stop? What's wrong with him?
The questions are enough to drive him insane
Stu Macher
Almost anyone can tell something has changed with Stu
He holds his head a little higher, smiles a little wider, and talks a little louder
He walks around school with his eyes peered, hoping that eye contact will be enough to figure out who his secret admirer is
But when he's not at school, he's making a list on any person he thinks it could be
He makes sure to convince Billy to hit those people's houses first during their "nights out"
He may even go as far as interrogating all of his victims, eventually killing them when he realizes they know nothing about his secret admirer
But he shakes this off quickly
He has full faith that he'll learn who you are
There's only so many houses in Woodsboro after all
Vincent Sinclair
He's honestly completely in awe at this situation
It had always been Bo who had the secret admirers
People have been fawning over his brother since they were younger, but now he's the one being sought after?
This can't be real
He does his best to keep all of this from his brothers
He's worried that them finding out will ruin the whole thing somehow
And he truly loves how it feels to be wanted
If the gifts stop at any point, he'll be devastated
He won't go as far as to seek you out
But he will certainly mourn you and your attention
He knew it was too good to be true
Bo Sinclair
Similar to Billy, this isn't his first rodeo
But unlike him, he's not as kind about the situation
Your gifts are disposed of as quickly as they are received
It's not that he isn't appreciative, it's just that he seeks confidence and hates games
If you're interested in him, then why not just step up and make a move in person?
If you're not willing to do that, then it's mostly a waste of his time
If the gifts keep coming, he'll eventually hit a point where he becomes annoyed
He'll break the gifts and trash them right outside the door, leaving them there in hopes you'll take the hint
And if you do, then he's satisfied
He doesn't need the attention because he knows he can get whoever he wishes
He doesn't have time for silly teenage games

“In the original Wizard of Oz, Oz's full name is Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkle Emmanuel Ambroise Diggs.

While he tried turning his name into an acronym, it ended up spelling "Ozpinhead". As a result, Oscar Diggs decided to simply go by the name Oz, only using the first two letters from his first two names.”

Beatles biographers saying totally normal things about John and Paul: A compilation
"‘John always used to say,’ Yoko told me at one point, ‘that no one ever hurt him the way Paul hurt him.’ The words suggested a far deeper emotional attachment between the two than the world ever suspected - they were like those of a spurned lover." -Philip Norman
"No matter how much he loved Yoko, the Gibraltar ceremony seems like something close to an on-the-rebound reaction to the loss of his first great love, Paul McCartney." -Chris Salewicz
"Almost in each other’s face, John and Paul quickly gained an unusual closeness, little or nothing hidden. Paul noticed that ‘John had beautiful hands." -Mark Lewisohn
"With Yoko present, Paul McCartney’s reign as Lennon’s princess was doomed.” -Peter McCabe
"John's in love with Yoko," Paul confessed to a reporter from the 'Evening Standard', "and he's no longer in love with the three of us." But for all intents and purposes, he might as well have been talking about himself." -Bob Spitz
'I thought Paul's was rubbish,' opined Lennon, saying that he preferred George's All Things Must Pass. McCartney studied the article with the morbid fascination of a jilted lover receiving a kiss-off letter. -Howard Sounes
“Lennon could have abandoned the (US) immigration case and returned to Britain, and possibly even to McCartney, but that would have meant accepting that his relationship with Ono was over.”-Peter Dogget
"Theirs was a volatile relationship right up to the end, and was fraught with emotional summits and valleys. While the connection between them was strictly heterosexual, it was deep, passionate, and highly explosive." -Geoffrey Giuliano
"John was insecure, and when he saw Paul he wanted to look cool. He gave up all his friends for Paul. Aunt Mimi recalled that John jumped around the kitchen when he told her about his new friend. She sarcastically said to John that they were like ‘chalk and cheese’ meaning how different they were. And John would start hurling himself around the room shouting ‘Chalk and Cheese!'’ smiling and laughing. He was fucking in love with him, he adored him. She understood he found the partner of his life." -Thomas Rhodes
“The last week in August, Paul McCartney returned to Liverpool, tanned and noticeably slimmer. In addition to starting school, he came back to begin a relationship he seemed destined for: hooking up with John Lennon." -Bob spitz
“Seeing Lennon focus on Ono rather than him [Paul] was as devastating as it would have been for Cynthia Lennon to witness the couple making love.” -Peter Dogget
#mclennon#insane#They all had to have known something#after all they were in contact with a lot of people from the inner circle#they just dont want to outright say it#this cant be a coincidence
