i still can't believe that almost 60% of the tumblr fandom romanced lucanis or emmrich. like that's actually wild

I finished up all the sidequests in DT and there’s something that gets me about the heritage found + solution 9 + living memory ones do have many moments that pull at your heartstrings, but they are undercut by this lingering horror. like how a girl doesn’t remember her own mother, and no one else around her recalls her either? How eventually all the turali people accepted the regulators bc this is how life is now.

there is all this technology they have, but they cannot fathom a way to correct the world in which they live? there is no way to fight or to fix their home, but merely to exist within the shelter provided? going off of how it feels like a commentary rather than a narrative flaw, it speaks a lot to how stagnant the people of Alexandria have become. there is no past because there is no memory of the people who lived before. there is no future, as there is seemingly no way to fix the world outside of everkeep. they are as stagnant as their queen. they feel as detached from reality as the people of living memory do. it’s two sides of purgatory.

note: I’m not blaming the ppl of tural for accepting the reality of their circumstances. it’s merely them being put in a situation where that was their only recourse and it’s dogshit to have to accept this is the way it goes, but when there’s not much choice…

I got three Rens stuck in my head for many reasons.

Shortened nickname for Irene. My rottmnt oc for a plot I haven’t even started writing but got ideas that expanded past the movie. And who has a complicated relationship with the main character (another oc) of the story.

Spelt “Wren”. My probable final protagonist for fantasy chronicles series I wish to create that is inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Rendog. A Minecraft YouTuber whose antics of roleplay have seeped into my brain and have influenced some details about the fantasy series I wish to create but am currently stuck on the world building aspect of. Hermitcraft season 9 and 3rd Life live in my head rent free.

Changed my mind and decided to explain that influence using of renchanting duo as stand-ins for the Prince and Gardener. (There’s more to the story but hey I guess this could become an au as I work on the actual plot. Could be a good means of bouncing ideas off people.)

First you Ren (Prince) and Martyn (Gardener). Lifelong friends. Growing up people rarely saw the two apart. There were people, snobbish nobles, who thought lowly of this friendship. Basically a “Ren you’re going to become king some day, why do you continue associating yourself with a commoner”. But Ren doesn’t care. Actually he wants to make Martyn his future advisor. Who better to help him watch over the people of the kingdom than a man of the people. Although Ren isn’t sure if Martyn would agree to become his advisor. The man is content with the idea of being the gardener for the palace. Ren never does get Martyn’s thoughts over the plan.

An tragic incident happens. Martyn is dead and Ren survived. No one but Ren knows what happened. This guy doesn’t tell anyone. And he doesn’t know how to handle his grief. Martyn is the first major loss in his life. He was far too little to remember the loss of his mother (the Queen). Ren emotionally shuts everyone out, even those he also considers friends.

Eventually Ren becomes king. And over the course of his ruling the kingdom grows and his territory expands. There are many who call him the Mad Tyrant.

And that’s only a fraction of what’s in my head.
