Nostalgia is of summer and taken lightly, fever melting in my eyes, my heart of amber conceptless promises, again keeping for these belong to you and are your goodness that shining in my eye You live in me, departed all that is light is brought forth in union; that yellow haze looking over everything, glazed over days and days solved in amnesia of all time intersecting and dissolved bitter taste with honey throwing out my color, my child is delighted all trouble is rewarded and rested; the paradise of the lifeless, trusting the sun to reach our dead limbs every time and stretch our arms towards it and feel God's hands cusp our faces and know ourselves in His -- His eye of all colors, which shine upon us and catch us, all of our moods in; we are One and in this solitude only, do we realize everything.

My pain comes in so many flavours.
Some days, it's what I would call standard back pain. Like a droning, tedious pain that just hangs about. The kind you would find most represented in a shop if they sold them.
Some days, it's like something is stuck. A part of my back that doesn't seem to be in the right place. Like a knuckle that needs cracking. But with pain. And it's uncrackable.
Some days, the pain is searing. A burning sensation that makes me worry about infection. A fire smouldering around my spine. This one is always there in the evenings if I've spent too much time standing up during the day. But sometimes it's there unprovoked. Surprise.
Some days, it's not really that painful and leaning more towards discomfort. Like shoes that are too small. It's still pain, but that one is kind of okay. They are the good days.
Some days, my back feels incredibly vulnerable and fragile. Like an ankle you've just twisted that feels like you could twist it again at any moment. I'm afraid I'll throw my back out, though I never do. When I wake up with this pain, I know it's going to be a capital-B bad day.
Today was a combination of the first three. Painkillers took the edge off just a little, but not enough. I complained. I cursed. I shed some tears.
I hope tomorrow is different. I hope maybe, just maybe, there will be at least one day in my life without this pain. It would be marvellous.

International Merlot Day
We know Merlot lovers doesn’t need a special reason to enjoy a glass of their favourite Merlot wine. But the 7th of November we are celebrating the International Day of this amazing grape, so no matter in which part of the world you are, it’s time to to raise your Merlot glass and join the celebration!
Do you know Merlot is the most planted grape in Bordeaux?
If you think about the most representative and most widely planted grape variety in Bordeaux, the majority of wine lovers would think about Cabernet Sauvignon. But that is not the case. There are far more hectares dedicated to Merlot than any other grape in Bordeaux. To give you an idea about the importance of this grape, more than 60% of all vines in Bordeaux are Merlot. In contrast, the more famous Cabernet Sauvignon occupies the second place with about 25% of all the vines. However, these grapes get along together very well. In fact, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are typically blended together, though the proportion of each depends on the geographical location of the winery in the Bordeaux region.
In Bordeaux, the Gironde estuary cuts through the centre of the region creating two banks: a left bank and a right bank. It is a winery’s location on either bank that determines the proportion of the grapes in the blend. And it is the right bank of Bordeaux the one that gives more protagonism to our beloved Merlot grape. In fact, right bank blends tend to be softer, less tannic and lower in alcohol and acidity levels.
Merlot in the World
Even if experts believe this grape offers its best expression in the soils of Bordeaux, Merlot is not all about that wine region. In fact, Merlot it’s not only the most widely planted grape in Bordeaux, but all over France! Moreover, Merlot is also broadly planted in many countries around the world such as Australia, Argentina, United States, Mexico, Italy, Chile, Switzerland and numerous other countries.
Reputation of Merlot
Although, Merlot surged in fame worldwide in the late 1980s, mostly in the New World. Unfortunately, its reputation plunged, ensuring a negative consumer response to one of the most memorable lines in the 1994 wine buddy movie Sideways, “no f*cking merlot”. However, Pomerol, the most emblematical Merlot area of Bordeaux, is home of top world-famous fine wines such as Château Petrus and its neighbour Vieux Château Certan.
Interesting facts about Merlot grape:
Did you know that the word ‘Merlot’ comes ‘young blackbird’ in French? It is believed that French winemakers either gave Merlot its name because of the beautiful blue-black colour of the Merlot grape or because the blackbird likes grapes.
Merlot wine is popular worldwide because of its capacity to please all palates.
Despite its lack of tannins, Merlot ages excellently.
Blended Merlot, when aged, usually softens the tannic boldness of grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, mellowing out the wine.
Because of its low acidity and high sugar content, Merlot is one of the best wine for being paired with food.
Some experts believe Merlot grape is cousin of both Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon.
In 1990s, the Chilean wine industry sold a large amount of wine made from Carmenere grape as Merlot.

I try my best not to be a doomer but dear lord if today’s SC decision didn’t bring my mental state right back to 2020
I completely 200% feel you, but I'm trying to think of it like this. Since all of the most awful people in the world are doing their utmost to help Trump win, think of how incredibly satisfying it will be if we all put in the work and make him fucking lose anyway. So many truly horrible people, especially Trump himself, are going to have a Real Bad Time if he loses this election again, with work and effort on our part this is still completely possible, and I for one vote we give it to them without delay. So. Yeah.

In all this nonsense, I just want for You to hold me in Your tender arms like before.
You never know survival, and how horrible it is to taste all the bitter tonics of life Milking sorrow to forgive the days days passed without a feeling only a mindless, hollow sadness a sense of something underneath; To be alone, and yet love my heart calls November upon the earth in a whisper of a suggestion, all cold around we attend our funeral each day and at night, recall dying.

National Hug a Bear Day
Cuddle up with your favorite teddy, relive childhood memories and throw a picnic for the whole family and your stuffed companions on Hug A Bear Day.
Although it might be confusing, Hug a Bear Day isn’t about the big fuzzy beasts that roam the forests munching on nuts and berries and once a year or so busting out the fishing skills to scoop up salmon from the teeming rivers! Hugging one of those could, in fact, be very dangerous and lead to a very bad day.
This day is, instead, about our favorite fuzzy knights of Yore, sometimes called by the name “Teddy”. They are big and fuzzy and warm, they watch over children (and, perhaps, some adults) at night while keeping the monsters in the closet and under the bed at bay.
For many, a cuddly bear is often the first gift a child is ever given. Long afterward, many people tend to carry them forward into their adult lives as ‘memoirs’ of the past. But everyone knows the real reason people still have them is that their lives seem a little better, and a little saner, with those childhood protectors, still working on their behalf.
It’s time to enjoy Hug a Bear Day!
History of Hug a Bear Day
The history of stuffed animals goes back a long way. In fact, some archaeological evidence suggests that the tradition of having something soft to play with and hug goes as far as Ancient Egypt.
What is known for certain is that plush toys as they are now known, first started hitting the scene in the 1830s. Of course, the most iconic of all of them, the Teddy Bear, came about in 1902. The classic story goes that the American President at the time, Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt, was hunting and refused to shoot a baby bear that he and his hunting companions came across. His companions thought him a bit “soft” and so the name of the Teddy Bear was coined.
Since that day, the Teddy Bear has stood as the childhood toy that, in many cultures, is given to almost every child. The term “Teddy” was even derived from the name of this self-same president. There are now millions of Teddy Bears produced every year, in a rainbow of styles and colors. No matter what the imagination may produce, there is likely to be a Teddy Bear that meets the idea of the perfect fuzzy protector!
How to Celebrate Hug a Bear Day
Hug A Bear!
Those who have a bear certainly know what to do. And those who don’t have a bear should probably run out right away and get a bear to hug! If absolutely necessary, borrow or bear nap a snuggly bear belonging to a friend (children are often a good source!) and give it a little cuddle.
Buy a Bear to Hug
Those who are in the market for a brand new bear will likely find an internet search offers a world of options. But the best possible option is to head out to a Build-A-Bear workshop and create your very own fuzzy defender. They even have clothes and accessories that will let children and adults bring out the very best friend the imagination can create. For even more fun, choose a sound box that goes inside, with an adorable recorded message.
Make Some Teddy Bear Treats
Hug a Bear Day can certainly be enjoyed by eating some bears too. Of course, not the stuffed ones, but the food-shaped ones. Whether purchasing Teddy Grahams, gummy bears, or other teddy bear-shaped snacks from the grocery store or making some at home, this is a fun day to get creative.
Try out these ideas for bear-themed recipes or get creative with what can be used in the kitchen to promote the Teddy Bear theme:
Teddy Bear Rice Krispie Treats. Make the normal recipe or Rice Krispie treats but shape them into bears using one large circle and three small ones. The large circle is the face and the small ones can be placed as ears and a snout. Add chocolate chips for the eyes and a nose.
Chocolate Bear Paws Candy. Melt chewy caramel candies with butter, whipping cream, and chopped cashews. Cool slightly and place on a pan in a “paw” shape. Freeze, then dip into melted chocolate, quickly adding three cashews on one side to create toes or claws.
Teddy Bear French Toast. Make normal pieces of french toast, then add banana slices for ears and a snout, topping it off with raisins for eyes and a nose. For an added touch, top with a bit of honey instead of using maple syrup!
Teddy Bear Sandwiches. Have a picnic and make it much more fun with these bear-shaped sandwiches. Simply cut sandwich bread into large circles (a normal glass or canning jar works), then use the scraps to cut three smaller circles. Spread hummus on the bread, then stick two small bread circles at the top for ears and top with a slice of cucumber. Add a top to the sandwich, then create the face with a bread circle, another cucumber slice and some black olives. Delicious and fun!
Host a Hug a Bear Party
You can also get together with your friends and bring out all your favorite old Teddy Bears. Admit what your favorite plush animal is and share it with those who still love theirs. Children would absolutely love to join in on a tea party with their friends, where the guests of honor are their favorite Teddy Bears!
