The Originals 5x01: Where You Left Your Heart

Happy Monday Evening Fandom :) This will be my new schedule Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. So I can get all the remaining eps in before the premiere. Should finish the week before we get to squee over a new season. So you'll have one more extra a week till we reach S6.

Some fun UC stuff for them to do in this one and the ever famous scene in the van. The marriage moments in this one continue. Off we go.

4x07 Fire Fight

We start off with our couple bringing someone in to book. She ran a stop sign AND a red light. Then flipped them off and made them chase her. Then has the audacity to ask why they arrested her? LOL My god...She tells them she was late for her life coach session. Tim makes a crack that her coach is doing a terrible job haha The sass Timothy I'm here for it.

As she gets processed Lucy brings up the bet from the previous episode. Tim retorting ‘The bet I won?’ Lucy fires right back that she won it. Their banter is unrivaled I love it so much. Tim telling her he had the gold in his hand. Lucy defending only because she had to arrest an armed gunmen. Tim tries to take the glory for this as well. That he technically arrested him. You know with his arm.

Lucy scoffing saying all he did was extend his arm out. Flirt nation right off the bat in this one. You know she’s actually impressed by it but can’t let his ego know that fact. Tim is trying to impress her by saying this. My goodness these two. It is very impressive he did that and wants her to know it. They're entering into the bantery foreplay early in this one.

Poor Grey gets dragged into their work flirt I mean fight. Tim really shouldn’t have been shocked at all when Grey said he suspected in 5x12. Man has been front row to this flirt fest for years . When he said that I think he meant long before that moment. He knew for a VERY long time. Poor Wade he just wants to get his job done. He wandered into booking thinking he could get in and out. Then in come Tim and Lucy to drag him into their fight LMAO

They're trying to get him to settle their bet from 4x06. They’re so damn competitive neither can settle for a tie. Grey affirms he thought it was as such. This was not the answer either of them wanted. Tim wants a rematch because of course he does. Lucy is adorable and says they should do an escape room LOL She had to know that wasn’t going to fly. Tim says no to that naturally. His reaction is hilarious.

So off put by the idea of being stuck in one. Decides they need a neutral party to decide their next competition. I love how in-sync they are when they turn to Grey. Same brain and same body language. Look how they mirror each other it's crazy. Sure Wade is thinking my god just find a room already. Instead he catches onto what they want. The way they both nod is so well timed they’re ridiculous and I love it sfm. Chemistry is unreal. Hats off to Eric and Melissa.

Grey agrees to this if only to get them to leave him the hell alone heh. He assigns them random penal codes. Says whoever gets their arrest first wins. Lucy could not be cuter waiting for hers. Tim gets his and isn’t pleased with it. Lucy is shocked he even knows what his is. Since its obscure as hell. Tim is fresh af with her replying 'She didn’t?' Ha her reaction. My god the punches just don’t get pulled with these two.

Tim says it’s unfair. SMH Oh Timothy pouting isn’t gonna work with Grey. He tells him life isn’t fair. Lucy is beaming about this. I love these two ridiculous fools so much. The woman they brought in is done with booking. She clearly doesn’t want to go into a cell. Tells them she know’s about a real crime. Says if she tells them she can cut a deal? Tim replies ‘What’s the crime?’

We return to them heading into interrogation. Lucy hands him a list of places they should go when they’re back out. Tim hands it right back without looking. Knowing exactly why she wants to hit those places. So she can win their bet. Doesn't hesitate as he calls her out on it. Lucy fires right back saying she knows he went to Nell. These two are so amazingly absurd.

Doing whatever they can to win this bloody bet of theirs. Lucy doesn’t let him get away with it for more than two seconds. She has your number Timothy. Always has always will. Her wifey 'Mmm' is everything. So he admits to giving Nell Dodger tickets haha Lucy looks like she wants to smack him. Also she can’t fault him she’s trying to play dirty too. You two competitive dopes are meant to be. I can only imagine how they would be in S6 with a competition.

Even though they’re battling he still holds the door open for her to interrogation. My heart. Ever the gentleman. They’re following up on the tip they were given earlier. The woman they’ve pulled in for questioning is in regards to her new skin care line. She confuses Tim right off the bat. He can't even process what she is saying so he turns to Lucy to decipher it for him.

Classic husband move to turn right to Lucy for the answer. It's so cute. She’s like later haha That it’s not important right now. She will explain later. So married looking to his wife for answers. Gotta love it. They were given a jar of her skin care. They tested it based on their tip and it has endangered tiger blood in it.

She doesn’t even deny it. Like she is proud of the fact her stuff has it. Lucy tells her she could end up in jail for up to 5 years for this. The cockiness disappears. Then the cycle of giving one another up continues. She panics and tells them about someone named Sloan. That she’s selling psychedelics as vitamins. Tim sighs deeply and asks for this woman’s last name for them to follow up.

They have round 2 in interrogation. Tim was already annoyed going into this LMAO He asks Sloan to take her sunglasses off. She complains the fluorescent lights give her headaches. Tim informs her that is the least of her problems. That they’ve been informed about her “vitamins” Sloan poorly defends herself and says she’s just using her husband’s prescription pad. That it’s ok…Oh my lord. It so is not.

Tim goes off his patience wearing very thin. Tells her this makes her a drug dealer. A high level one at that. She could be facing 20 years in federal prison for it. Sloan starts to stutter and panic. Saying how this has gotten horribly out of hand. Then asks how ratted her out? They don’t say. Then she mentions someone named Aston. That she has to be the one ratting her out. So she turns on her continuing the blame game cycle.

She tells them Aston is trying to hire a hitman. That her husband is worth more dead than alive. She’s been on the dark web trying to get it done. The reactions above are the best part. Tim was so very done going into this. This just made it so much worse. I love the shared look. Lucy is trying not to laugh at this situation. Looking at Tim to ground her. The way they check in with each other gives me all the feels. They’re both flabbergasted by the ring of ridiculousness they’ve been dragged into.

Cue to the infamous van scene. Tim rolls up not expecting the flack he gets. Lucy is on him immediately. Seriously judging his choice in disguise. How he looks like himself and not the hitman she was picturing at all. Lucy is truly is the teacher in this moment and schools him so hard about his choice. You know she’s enjoying bossing him around. The way she tells him to get into the van is too funny. Waving his ass in. Ready to teach him a Lucy Lesson. Heh

It’s fun to watch her be the more knowledgeable of the two in an OP. Tim fights her the minute they sit down. Lucy sighs and presses on. Schooling her man on UC and what they're trying to accomplish today. He is biting back a smile at her logical teasing. Look him above. He WANTS to be annoyed but he isn't really. Once again impressed by her confidence and knowledge on this. So he acts annoyed because he has a fake bravado to protect and all that.

She continues on with more irrefutable logic. He's looking at this wrong. They're not there to dupe a seasoned criminal. That he’s fooling someone who gets her ideas from Lifetime movies. LMFAO Where is the lie? Tim can’t fault her logic even though he wishes she was wrong. Lucy shoves the jacket at Tim tells him to put it on. (Bosses his ass around I love it sfm. He kinda does too.) He begrudgingly snatches it from her to put on and she thanks him.

Let’s not skate past the fact she is checking him out long before she is putting that mic on him above. As he is putting on that jacket she is doing an elevator gaze of her own. She does a double take of him really. Swallows hard too like she's pushing down her desire in this moment. As subtle as a hammer Lucy. Tim commenting he looks like an idiot. That he would pull himself over. haha Lucy definitely does not agree. She begs to differ quite a bit. Lucy bounces back and says he looks exactly as he should. She is holding firm refusing to let his sass sway her or break her confidence. How far we've come.

Then comes the wonderful shameless eye sex. The brazen UST look that could ignite that van on fire. Lucy's reaction is how I would react. She can clearly see how fit he is. She knew but had never seen the glorious proof up close. You can tell she finds him so very attractive. I mean look at him. Gah beautifully toned chest and abs. Delicious pecs to go with that sculpted chest. Phew lord. Pass the ice water please.

She’s trying not to just stare at his toned chest but has to in order to mic him up. She’s touching him and doesn’t know how to handle it. Shoving his shirt up even higher than needed without realizing it. It's up to his neck. Tim broke her brain haha The awkward glances up crack me up. She’s trying not to make eye contact but also not just stare at his beautiful body either. Rock and a hard place Lucy. Gah we need more shirtless Tim in S6. You hear me writers? I need MORE LOL

Tim isn’t exactly helping with his matching intense gaze. He doesn’t break eye contact with her except to look down at where she is placing it. Tim is flirting right back with his own thirsty gaze. He can feel how electrically charged this moment is. Feeling very aware of her gaze and returning it in kind. They're feeding off each other 100% right now.

Tim is the first to come back to his senses just like in 4x01. So he chastises her for putting the mic too high. It breaks Lucy’s lusty gaze and fog she was in. Annoyed he’s done as such she is not kind in removing the tape. Like at all LOL Lucy tells him she knows what she’s doing right before she rips it off. His reaction is so damn funny I’m dying. Lucy is very pleased with herself. The raw UST is prominent throughout the entire season its so good. Just mounts a little more each ep.

Lucy apologizes for ripping it off and sends him off. You know she is going to enjoy being the voice in his ear. Watching him do UC from the van as she observes. Aston isn’t being explicit enough. Too busy checking Tim out and hitting on him. I mean can’t blame the woman. He looks fine as hell. Lucy is laughing in his ear floored by this women’s forwardness.

She is getting a kick out of this woman blatantly hitting on him. Asking if this woman is touching him? If she is then if she offers money for sex she’ll win the bet LOL Oh Lucy so one track minded I’m dying. It’s what prompts Tim’s response above and Lucy’s excitement bout it. Tim finally gets her to confess with details once she thinks she has a shot with him ha. Using his good looks to close this case. Fantastic.

Afterwards they come to visit Nolan in the hospital. He survived a mad man apparently. Sheer luck I think but survived nonetheless. This is their married moment of the ep. Also Tall/Smol shots that I enjoy so much. Tim gives her crap for buying out the entire gift store. Lucy says he’s been in hospital before. He knows how boring it can be. She then asks what he got for Nolan?

Hahah oh sweet Lucy. Did you really think Tim would spend money on Nolan of all people? He tells her no…but he’ll just put his name on her gift ahaha I can see in future when they’re giving out gifts as a couple they'd be the same. People will be thanking them and Tim will have no idea what she bought for them. Just go along with it.

Lucy is shocked but not shocked by his behavior. Saying 'Unbelievable' Like really she shouldn’t expect anything less. Also this is totally normal giving a shared gift like this. Nothing married at all about this behavior whatsoever....Super platonic.

Lucy brings up the bet one last time. Tim says her first name (be still my heart) saying he wants to call it a draw. That police work is too important to turn into a game. Lucy prods him saying he only wants to call it because he might lose. Tim says sure if that’s what she needs to hear. He will go with that. She asks him when he became the noble one? Tim just asks if that means they’re square on their bet? Lucy agrees no one wins but says he can’t have his name on her basket hahaha Tim rolls his eyes but follows after her anyway.

I think Tim was worried if they continued with the bet their next 'van moment' could escalate. Tim may not be aware of a lot with Lucy in terms of being in love with her yet. But he is VERY aware of his attraction to her. That hug in 4x01 was blatant proof of it. That their competitive nature is flirt fueled. So cutting this one off at the knees extinguishes that. It's why he was so quick to end it. Avoidance is the name of the game for him now. So he let Lucy have whatever terms of surrender she wanted. Including knocking his name off that basket and saying it was cause he didn't want to lose. He knows they are on thin ice and trying to keep them from falling in.

Taking Care of What You Want

I fear that if there aren't any queer romantic relationships in Teen Wolf the Movie, certain parts of the fandom (you know of whom I speak) will fixate on that as a reason to hate on the movie without stinting.

But really, they have only themselves to blame.

The original television series had two significant queer romantic relationships, and while it could (and should) be pointed out that these relationships were between only gay men, it also has to be said that these two relationships weren't background decoration. Both of them had importance to the plot, and the nature of both relationships were explored as a crucial aspect of the characters. The production wasn't just checking boxes.

Danny and Ethan started out as a gambit from season's three primary villain, but over the season we got to understand what the relationship meant to each individual character and how it shaped their actions within the plot. From Chaos Rising (3x02) to end of The Divine Move (3x24), this relationship was given essentially the same time and attention as Allison and Isaac and Aiden and Lydia.

And yet, it's barely a footnote in the fandom.

Mason and Corey is the second-longest lasting relationship portrayed on Teen Wolf, starting in Damnation Memoriae (5x12) to The Wolves of War (6x20), being eclipsed only by Scott and Kira. It lasted longer than Scott and Allison! Mason and Corey caring for each other helped involve Mason in the world of the Supernatural and lured Corey back towards humanity. Their desire to protect each other was a major component of two season finales (5B & 6A).

And, at best, it's background material for another fanon-conjured romantic relationship.

Why should the production spend precious screen time on another queer relationship if the fandom is just going to pay attention to whatever pairing they want anyway? If the fandom's going to take any conversation between two dudes as romantic chemistry and overwhelmingly focus their time and energy on that, there's no reason to create a relationship that's going to be ignored. No one can legitimately argue that a romantic relationship between Stiles and Derek was anything than more than viewer projection on the events of the show, and it's the overwhelming focus of the fandom.

I'm not surprised that Corey isn't in the movie. If they put him in it, they would need to spend time dealing with the state of his and Mason's relationship, and to their eyes, no one cared that much.

There's no payoff for the production if they put effort into a relationship only for the audience to spend their time mourning the Ships That Didn't Happen. As much as it might pain people to hear it, representation goes both ways. If you want it, you have to treat it right when it happens, or all you do is discourage producers from putting any effort at all into it.

I rewatched season 5 recently, I haven’t rewatched that season since it came out. I’m 1 of those people that said something happen between grant and Candice during that season, that they didn’t have chemistry on that season but looking back at it, I think it’s just the writing besides in 5x12 in some scenes

I love the Documentary episodes they are always so humorous and this one was even more so. Grey had me cry laughing for real with that painting! (He took a selfie with it and had it framed ffs 🤣) Lucy being her sunshine self, Tim even more grumpy, Wopez were hilarious, Nyla tripping out about the Dim and Juicy nicknames 😂 and of course Jake and Sava 🔥, that Lance Bass cameo was funny, Aaron just casually think Tim as dead and Tim being like “no he’s not I’m at the station” Aaron if Tim actually does die I need more emotion from you okay?? 😛 Nolan and Celina were funny (why was Bailey on this again??) and the whole bit with Chenford at the end 🥰 However, for as much as I loved it what this episode did was kill every excuse I was making up in my head about why we got no intimate Chenford scenes after 5x12. like what are the writers doing?! You have two people like Mel and Eric with chemistry just oozing out of their pores, like look at Jake and Sava ffs 🥵🔥 now I’m not saying Chenford should be like them but it just shows what they can do or even a tiny fraction of what it could be like and the writers are just killing all that off. Like I do not get it?? I’m not saying we need a 5x12 ending for every episode but would a little hand hold or a little peck on the lips be too much to ask for…

Helloooo defend in place/mayday anon :) sad to report I did not finish my s4+s5 watch/rewatch this weekend (tall task in hindsight plus anirudh tweets dropped right before I was about to start jinx of all episodes lol) BUT I did finish up to 5x10 which means I got to defend in place yayyy! General s5 thoughts 1. Watched ghost stories for the first time and its not nearly as bad as I thought it would be (although 618 and 710 didnt exist when this seemed to be consensus worst ep. So). I get how this ep might be hard to watch on a weekly basis but its pretty fine while binging and also features crucial henren/karen lore like … also noooo way chim really said he was going to bring buck near death, revive him with his paramedic skills and then kill him. Did the writers know. Lmao. 2. Taylor kelly stuff is not nearly as bad as I remember it from what I had watched. Its just painfully obvious her and buck should be friends and not even because their physical chemistry is outright bad just their dynamic feels super friend-ish. And they put all that development time into taylor when they should have developed bucktaylor instead, like how karen was developed after henren, for example. Bucktaylor ily scene still hits like nails on a chalkboard though. God forbid we have to live through something like that again 3. Ravi deadass in every episode. When will my sweet prince return in this capacity 4. Forgot about athena hitting harry :( definitely one of the things that I had issues with from before and was just as shocked now as before like why did that need to happen :(

Okay okay NOW defend in place thoughts !!!!!! I really really liked it, definitely a top 3 s5 episode for me probably (the other 2 I really love are 5x11 and 5x12). Michael/grant family proposal montage… genuinely top (fun) montage in the show. Up there with jinx and stuck/chris and poker date montages imo it was so cute. And while I really loved the ep the whole time I was like damn we were robbed of david content so bad 😭😭😭 he was so good in this ep and the s4 michael bobby ep like I just want more I cant believe we’ll never see him again. Okay and the ravi lore. Im going to be honest I spent years thinking the ravi cancer child thing was fanon/ravi begins spec LMAO like I saw gifs of that ravi hen scene a few weeks ago and was like damn… that lore is canon😭 but yay I wish the show would just once expand on his lore beyond surface level. And the defend in place call was so good although I will say it was giving greys anatomy massively though. Before I kinda wished the show would have done more with david/hen dr stuff but honestly after this Im glad it didnt bc I swear Ive watched this exact stuff happen in greys before lol. But yeah overall what a great send off for michael like so good. On my first watch years ago I was always kind of like okay michael is fun but he doesnt really get to contribute to the main part of the show much outside of being a dad and in that sense I always found his character a bit weak/neglible. But now on this watch Im like why didnt they give us more of this michael!! Copaganda aside, The athena team up when theyre searching for harry was so good and it was probably when I started thinking damn this cast is really missing rockmund in recent seasons. But at least they went this direction with the send off, if theres one thing you can trust 911 for its an eventual happy ending. (And also side note. Amidst the summer of bpreg and domesticverse some of the scene in this episode had me really in my feels. Yay)

hiiiiii bestie!!!!!!! thank you for updating me!!! i also did not watch 5a live (started the show the january between 5a & 5b) so i'm in agreement with you on the fact that it's really not a bad half season when binged!! i can understand the frustration of watching it live though. also ravi being in every episode omg......we used to have it all....(totally forgot about that athena and harry shit too wtf...)

OK YAY DEFEND IN PLACE!!! idk if you saw but i ALSO rewatched it this week (partially in your honor and partially to fulfill the summer of buddie self-care prompt). I have SUCH a soft spot for david, we really don't get to see much of him but i loved their meet cute, loved him in there goes the neighborhood and he's just!!! ugh!!! super hot and so sweet and such a good partner to michael.

lol I've never seen grey's anatomy but i can def see that...anyway yay i'm glad you enjoyed the episode. on my rewatch it really hit home for me how much the episode was grant-nash focused (like you said, with the fun little proposal montage) and it made me realize how much i really do miss them. Looking back, part of what really drew me into the show in s2 was all the family stuff--Buck and Maddie first & foremost (also Eddie & Chris), but also definitely the Grants and how they navigated adding Bobby to their family. It was such a good storyline and they really continued to showcase how special their family is through the next couple seasons!!!

Okay, so...I'm going to just spill my tea here. During every single TVD-rewatch, my Forwood-heart breaks a little bit more. They were a believable pairing with a slowly developing bond, trust and great chemistry. Tyler is very unfairly treated and underrated among the characters, writers and the fandom. It's quite hypocritical to blame Tyler of some things that he did completely unwillingly, because he was lied to or because he hadn't been told the whole truth about things and then claim that someone else would be better fit for Caroline. And in some cases he was rightfully angry and lashed out, but it has been taken out of portion. Yes, I'm talking about 5x12: no matter what is claimed sometimes, he didn't try to hurt or kill Caroline. He was emotional and had tried to get her to leave and give him the space by talking, but it hadn't worked and his other form came out. Some others, however, have hurt Caroline and her loved ones repeatedly and willingly (*cough* for example, the person mentioned below *cough*), and they get a free pass, because... I don't know how to finish that sentence. I hope that these two would've been endgame.

When I first watched TVD, I saw the appealing of Klaroline, mostly because I thought I saw some connections to Sparrabeth, which is one of my favorite ships ever. But now I realize they are not nearly the same. I like Caroline most of the time and I love the journey Klaus goes through in the Originals, but in the bigger context them "falling" for each other is rushed, doesn't make sense whatsoever and it ruins both of their development and what makes them great as individuals. Caroline is much more than just some prop for someone else's redemption (and Elena too, but I'm not gonna dive into it here). The show tries to sell the idea that Klaus somehow understands and truly sees Caroline better than anyone else, even than the people who have known her and stood beside her for years, which is not actually true in canon. He doesn't actually say anything good that someone else hasn't already pointed out in one way or another. In my opinion, as reluctant frenemies who challenge each other, they can work, but nothing more. Caroline shows up in the Legacies? Makes sense. Her showing up in the Originals? Beats up the dead horse, rewrites history and ends up pissing off the most of the Klaroline-, Klamille-, Klayley-, Steroline-, Forwood- and Maroline-fans. Job well done.

Lotta great Tim Bradford moments in this show 5x19. The morning together with Lucy is clearly the highlight. The end was painful to see him so stricken with what he had to do, clearly affected by it. But - Lucy clinging to his arm walking down the hall just rubbed me wrong. Not holding hands just seemed so off to me. It didn't look right, but just a visual thing for me that didn't vibe quite right for some reason. If his arm had been kind of bent to take her hand in to him, maybe it would have looked warmer. But it was just hanging there. Felt cold. I understand he was bereft a bit, it just visually didn't sit well with me. Well anyway - it was sweet how he wanted to distract himself by helping her with her exam.

I will say, I am still deeply disappointed with the lack of details of their growth. Is he living with her at his apartment? We don't know. Kojo? Not a clue. Have they said I love you? Seems not. Still so much suppressed in so many ways. Kept under the radar. And the Chenford fandom resorts to closeup shots of a hand touch here or there and thrill and swoon for it, really laughable. It's criminal what The Rookie has done to us by depriving of simple details that could easily be grafted in their time together on screen. But hey, the writers do what they do, and I write in fan fic to release my fantasies and vision, and read others, and so there's that.

On the show in itself aside from Chenford - Celina is over the top. I cannot believe the lack of professionalism, the slack given to her as a rookie, the lead she took, taking Tim's phone to make the call, yelling at him and others. LOL It was OUTRAGEOUS, and ridiculous. Nolan is a lousy TO with zero discipline. And I'm sick of Bailey. She's literally a joke of the show in itself, Nolan mocking her for her so called day off but she can't cause she can do it all right? ZERO chemistry with those two. But we get to hear them say I love you. Not Tim and Lucy. Not YET anyway (I hope they do!)

I'm just mystified. The show can be SO good on its own, has been so good even aside from Chenford. But lately, it's been off, scrambling around a bit for me. Relationships with colleagues kind of off, missing. Like even Tim's job not being commented on, and now being together with Lucy - STILL no response or reaction on them. Just incredible.

So three more weeks and Isabel will pop by, maybe to give some perspective to Lucy about UC work. Two more episodes left as we wait for a S6 renewal. And I hope it happens, but I hope for better writing. It's been a bit haywire after 5X12 with Chenford, and the rest kind of spotty. I am sorry to see it, and hope they tighten some writing, keep things a bit more cohesive. The fun and humor is great when it works, and they have a great cast! (Except Bailey. Please go away Bailey. Nothing against Jenna. Just. Ugh) But maybe too many writers? Too many directors with a plethora of visions throwing the show all over the place? Rooting for them, and looking forward to their return in 3 weeks, fingers crossed for better and for more real romance with Chenford too.

holdup….now I know I'm catching these out of order but in 4x22 Chris ID's a guy named Montoya….obviously younger but any relation to the Montoya in 5x12?? only a handful of episodes later, & both in connection to people Rita loves. that can't be a coincidence. or did writers just reuse limited names. also the Montoya in 5x12, I swear we saw him in an early episode, I think s2 or was that just similar actors? Mitzi & Rob should've worked together again, they had some of the most amazing chemistry I've ever seen, and I watch alot of shows. this fulfills my heart of soap/cop drama/and harlequin novels all in one!

I get where all the cheating arc might be coming from. But my patience for writers and showrunners is ending. I give it a chance with 5x12 and 5x13 and then if the situation goes south - I’m leaving.

What we got from 5A and 5x11 - Buck is not in the right place mentally. He’s feeling like everyone leaves (Maddie) and moves on without him (Eddie). His relationship with Taylor seems blunt and just odd. Kissing Lucy had thrown him back to Buck 1.0, but it is also his way to feel something. It might’ve felt out of character but it could also lead to him spiraling, blaming himself and just getting into a very dark place.

From what we’ve seen so far, Lucy could possibly be the wrench in BuckTaylor relationship. Or it could be something that makes them stronger and brings their relationship on the right track (e.g. Hen and Karen in season 1).

If writers go the first way and end BuckTaylor relationship, what stops them from assigning Lucy as a new love interest for season 6, for example? There have been hints to that, and as much as I hate it - only time will tell.

Regarding all the parallels to Season 2. Buck and Lucy’s first task together ends up with blowing up a car. Lucy joining 118 would start with Buck avoiding her and being defensive and closed. However, if they proceed with this arc - we might see Buck (and Bobby) eventually understanding that no one compares to Eddie. Their chemistry is not replaceable.

As I have previously mentioned in my post if writers decide to go one of the ways I wrote earlier all the parallels to 3A do not make any sense. Because what we currently see on screen is Eddie’s direct parallel to Buck in 3A with him feeling left out and abandoned by his friends, his family. However, all of this will also lead to him processing and healing from his trauma.

I personally believe, it would be a healing for both Buck and Eddie. Both of them are not in the right place mentally (and physically). Joint trauma would be a good punch for both of them, e.g. Christopher getting hurt, Eddie’s breakdown, Buck putting himself in danger or all together. That way they will get together as a family unit to heal, move forward and build something beautiful.
