A phoebe singing. By my records this is 10 days to 2 weeks early for them to return. They’ll nest in the park and be here all summer. Exciting to hear it since I think of it as a harbinger of spring but also a little strange. Still, welcome, friend! And because of all this warm weather there should be plenty of insects to eat.

I was watching a video of a guy explaining something and he was frequently going “uhhhhh” and the uhhhhs got louder and more gravelly and they were drowning out everything else until it was just a rhythmic “uhhhhhh… uhhhhhh… uhhhhhh…” and i was trying to make out words between them until I woke up and realized that was the sound of my roommate’s phone alarm vibrating.

Tumblr holidays and Tumblr lore are really awesome because they feel like really weird inside jokes between a bunch of people

Tumblr has its own holidays that will make absolutely no sense for any outsider

Examples: Ides of March, neil banging out the tunes, Dannypocalypse, 5th November

All of Tumblr suddenly gets either bloodthirsty, worshipping neil who's banging out the tunes, infected by Danno like a hivemind or haunted by memories by the sheer craziness that one certain date brought.

At this point, I'm sure we could come up with our own language to make it even more confusing for new users
