🥳I'M 50 YEARS OLD TODAY🍾

When someone has a birthday, the wishes are: "May you have a blessed year." I have been blessed for 30 years with a wonderful family, and 50 years of a wonderful life. We are a family that is always there for each other. Who stand together through thick and thin and always make plans when things go a little awry. I am a privileged wife and mother. For that I will always be grateful.

My 50th was the icing on the cake. A big dream came true. I always wanted to soar through the sky like an eagle and I did. It was the most amazing feeling of freedom that I will always cherish and for which I will always be grateful. It was an unforgettable 50th weekend.

50th Anniversary

As an aperitif a special Negroni (equal parts Beefeater gin, Campari, and dry vermouth on the rocks with a super-colossal green olive with pimento).

Then a large white pizza with anchovies accompanied by salad (iceberg lettuce, raw onions, grated Parmigiano Reggiano, sliced black olives - Thousand Island dressing optional, or - in my case - sprinkled with 'Yucatan Sunshine' habenero sauce) with a bottle Primitivo Salento red wine.

Viewing the definitive version of E.F. Benson's Mapp & Lucia (1985) season 1, episodes 1 and 2 with Geraldine McEwan, Prunella Scales, and Nigel Hawthorne. A perennial favorite, we first viewed Mapp & Lucia on Masterpiece Theatre broadcast during the year of our 11th Anniversary. Later on VHS, and most recently on DVD, though it is also available streaming on Amazon.
