Superhero Landing

I managed to snag a pretty good picture of a chipmunk in my back yard doing what looked like a superhero landing on a piece of quartz XD Here's the resulting print from that pic! You can clearly see some issues with the gold extruding, resulting in many spaces in between lines. Thee are caused by improper retraction settings. Switching from Cura to Prusa slicer to create these 3d prints has been a great tool, but I'm struggling to find what settings equate to what I'm used to in Cura. My next multicolor print failed due to these poor retraction settings. The filament would be pulled up too far, cool down, be pulled forward, heat up, and repeat until the tip of the filament in the printer expanded into a hard blob and failed to extrude anything else. I can't wait to get this profile for these multicolor prints dialed IN. They're getting easier to handle, and I'm getting a feeling for the cool artistic choices I'm able to make when it comes to making colors pop in these things! Can't wait for more!!

I thought I’d do an intro bc although I’ve been here a long time, I’m pretty quiet on here and I’ve never used tags. But I do want to start writing journal entries, and I also would love to find more mutuals and have people to talk to!

So, I’m Gem, also a gemini obvs, I live in a little house in England with my boyfriend of 9 years and our 3 cats 🖤 NOT PRO anything, my stats are pinned

I stopped eating at 13, had a lw of 95lbs, ‘recovered’ at 19 (aka swapped one 3d for another), my weight yo-yoed for the next 7 years until I reached a hw of 185lbs, which I maintained for a while and this year finally managed to stop binging on a regular basis, so far I’ve lost 34lbs. Defo too much info that no one asked for but maybe someone can relate 🥲

Anyway that’s it, like I said I wanna chat to more people so messages are always welcome, oh and also this is a side blog so if you get a follow back from quartz-tinted that’s my main! (If anyone knows how to follow from a side blog lmk🥴)
