Given episode 7 was great, they finally sort of addressed Ueonoyama being in love with Mafuyu, and his immediate response being “Is there something wrong with me?” was sick, that line was like a gut punch of emotional impact. Akihiko’s response was great, too, it starts out as a very simple, kind and reasonable response, in fact it’s kind of an obvious response, but his cocky smirk when he says “unless you’re gonna say something’s wrong with me too”, that was great, had a lot of personality. It’s interesting how in its own stride this show is, because I mean we’re in episode 7 of an 11 episode series, but not much has actually happened yet, but again it still feels in its own stride, like it feels good, and warm to watch. This show does feel KyoAni-ish, maybe not in visuals but it’s got that vibe to it. I’m really enjoying this one. A lot more so than I expected to love a shounen ai.
