The proposed VAT increase from 9% to 21% (12% increase) of the new "parliament" on books and literature is a total shame and a direct attack on our arts and culture sector.
Reading skills have been declining in the Netherlands for years, this simply cannot decline any further without having serious consequences, and the VAT increase will further affect the accessibility of books in a negative way.

Remember and fight: Memorial demonstration in Berlin for Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg
Palestine solidarity as a trigger for police attacks that left numerous people injured.
By Nick Brauns, junge Welt
“Viva Palestine” could be heard from afar from the kilometer-long demonstration that marched under red flags to the Socialist Cemetery: Israel's war against Gaza was the dominant theme at the traditional memorial demonstration for Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg, the co-founders of the Communist Party of Germany who were murdered by right-wing Freikorps soldiers 105 years ago, on Sunday in Berlin.
Solidarity with Palestine was also the trigger for brutal police attacks that left numerous people injured. First, a speaker from a block of mostly Palestinian demonstrators was arrested -- the reason for this was the banned slogan "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," a police spokesman told jW. After the arrest, blocks of the front part of the demonstration turned around and the police were briefly pushed away.
The frightening results of the subsequent use of batons and pepper spray by the helmeted state power: A 65-year-old man, run over by the police, lay unconscious on the ground and bleeding from his mouth and nose. According to demonstration paramedics, 15 other demonstrators also had to be treated in hospital with injuries, some of them serious, such as broken bones. The police, however, spoke of attacks on officers during the demonstration, with 21 police officers injured.
"I'm glad that the other demonstrators immediately showed their solidarity with us. This is where our strength lies,” a Palestinian activist named Walid told jW.
According to the police, among the 16 demonstrators arrested are several musicians from Turkey's Grup Yorum, who are currently on a hunger strike for comrades imprisoned in the Federal Republic of Germany.
According to the organizers, more than 10,000 people took part in the demonstration. In addition to blocks from DKP and SDAJ, MLPD, Trotskyist groups and socialist parties from Turkey and Kurdistan, but also left-wing trade unionists and neighborhood initiatives, what was noticeable was the strong participation of mostly young supporters of Marxist-Leninist organizations, dressed in black and in orderly formations among a sea of red flags. “Road free for the red youth,” “Youth, future, socialism” and “With Rosa and Karl against war and capital” were heard from these blocks.
With the banner "Defend Revolutionary History! Attack German warmongers!” and images of Luxemburg, Liebknecht and Lenin, who died 100 years ago, the “Perspective Communism” movement made it clear that commemoration is not a nostalgic end in itself. This is also how Sevda Karaca, a member of the Labor Party (EMEP) in the Turkish parliament, sees it. “Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht are revered worldwide as champions of socialism,” Karaca told this newspaper at the Socialist Cemetery. "In times when fascist ideas are increasing worldwide, it is particularly important that we reflect on the roots of our resistance."
Even before the demonstration arrived, thousands of people, including the leadership of the Die Linke party, had taken part in a "silent commemoration." The murdered labor leaders were honored at their graves with red carnations and wreaths.
Solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom, the call for peace and the need for socialism also played a central role at the 29th International Rosa Luxemburg Conference. The conference organized by this newspaper took place on Saturday in the Berlin Tempodrom with a new record attendance of 3,700 visitors.

Rough date timeline of Henry VI part 1 because that's how my day is going so far:
ACT 1
Scene 1: Henry V's funeral, which we know happened November 7, 1422.
Scene 2: The introduction of Joan la Pucelle, which historically happened in 1428. Six years have passed.
Scene 3: Gloster gets barred from the Tower of London, and he and Winchester are so at each other that somebody calls the cops. I can't find evidence of this being a real incident.
Scenes 4-6: Seige of Orleans, 1428-29. The French artillery's aim is getting better and Salisbury is killed. The English find out about Joan la Pucelle, who is on her way to lift the seige. Talbot is said to have been recently exchanged for a French prisoner, but this does not make sense.
ACT 2
Scenes 1-3: The English attack Orleans again to avenge Salisbury. Talbot meets/is taken prisoner by the Countess of Aubergne. (He was a French prisoner from 1429-33, but this isn't how he was taken.) Presumably this is why the French are able to break the seige.
Scene 4: Rose-picking in the garden scene. Did not happen, but I would put it in the summer of 1429, making Richard Duke of York not quite 18.
Scene 5: Edmund Mortimer shows up, explains some family history, and then dies. This didn't happen but that is a separate post entirely.
ACT 3
Scene 1: Fighting breaks out in Parliament courtesy of Gloster and Winchester. Henry VI has speaking lines for the first time, implying that it is at least November 1429, and he is about 8. Gloster suggests that Henry VI be crowned in France.
Scene 2: Bedford dies of illness while the French unsuccessfully attack Rouen. This would make it 1435, except Henry VI has recently arrived in France to be crowned, so it is probably 1430.
Scene 3: The French plot revenge for Rouen and Burgundy switches sides. It is now simultaneously 1435.
Scene 4: The English are in Paris, Talbot is made Earl of Shrewsbury (1442).
ACT 4
Scene 1: Henry VI is crowned in Paris (1431). He tries to "both sides" Somerset and York while putting on a red rose badge, but he's only 10 so let's give him some slack.
Scenes 2-4: Talbot and his son are killed fighting near Bordeaux while Somerset and York argue about whether or not to send reinforcements from elsewhere in Gascony. This historically happened in 1453, when Somerset and York were back in England.
ACT 5
Scene 1: Henry VI and Gloster discuss marriage to a daughter of the earl of Armagnac, so it's about 1442. Henry thinks he's too young (21?), but sends a gift to anyway.
Scenes 2-3: York captures Joan la Pucelle. Suffolk becomes soggily besotted with Margaret d'Anjou and negotiates her marriage to Henry VI. None of this happened, but Margaret's marriage negotiations began around 1444.
Scene 4: Speedrun of Joan la Pucelle's trial, 1431. Charles agrees to be Henry's subject if the English leave, which did not happen.
Scene 5: Suffolk and Winchester successfully argue for Margaret d'Anjou as Henry VI's bride, ending the play in 1444.

In Brazil, a Best-Selling Novel Confronts the Brutal Afterlife of Slavery
Crooked Plow made Itamar Vieira Junior an essential voice in Brazilian letters.
Tumblr media
On May 13, 1888, Princess Isabel of Bragança, the heir presumptive to the Brazilian throne, signed a “Golden Law” that freed 700,000 people from slavery in Brazil. The country, which had declared independence from Portugal 66 years earlier, had received close to half of all enslaved Africans brought to the New World by European colonizers. Isabel’s formal declaration of abolition came decades after the precedents set by countries such as Great Britain, which outlawed slavery in 1807; facing pressure in the form of port attacks and slave ship seizures by British forces, Brazil’s parliament passed an 1871 law that freed all children born to enslaved parents (though not guaranteed before they reached the age of 21). But this blanket implementation, and even Isabel’s later decree, did little in the way of truly liberating those upon whose bodies the country’s economy had been built. By the dawn of the 19th century, Portuguese colonizers had shaped Brazil via the vast and often violent industries of coffee and gold in the South and sugar in the Northeast. To maintain this infrastructure, landowners conspired to keep enslaved men and women—most of them from West Africa—unfree. After abolition was implemented, the formerly enslaved were still at the mercy of landowners who would grant them permission to live on their property in exchange for free labor, leaving them indebted to their former employers and without much more freedom than what they’d had before.
First published in Brazil in 2018, and recently translated into English by Johnny Lorenz, Itamar Vieira Junior’s Crooked Plow takes place during the transitional years when freed slaves and their descendants sowed and harvested land that they were prevented from owning. Set in the hinterlands of Bahia’s Chapada Diamantina region in the early 20th century, the novel follows three generations of a family caught between the pull to remain in a familiar system of servitude in exchange for stability, and the post-abolition push toward claiming the land they knew—and loved—better than their former masters.
The book’s success in Brazil exemplifies a trend in the country’s literary landscape toward novels told from the perspective of the historically oppressed. In the past five years, Vieira Junior has been an integral member of a group of Brazilian writers who, in depicting racism and slavery through the viewpoint of racial minorities and enslaved peoples, remind us of Brazil’s painful colonial history while returning agency to those who suffered under its one-sided narration. In the wake of the Bolsonaro presidency, which sanctioned the intrusion on Indigenous territories and denied the prevalence of racism in the country, Viera Junior and his cohort’s mission has been particularly remarkable; by reimagining Brazil’s past, these writers are committing themselves to reimagining what Brazil can become.

Justin Trudeau is attacking a man who wants women to have access to single sex soaces while a sadistic TIM is using his gender identity to be moved to a lower security prison.
OTTAWA — Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says he believes "biological males" have no place in sports or change rooms that are labelled female.
Poilievre was asked at a news conference Wednesday about his position on whether transgender women should be allowed in spaces that are labelled for women and whether he would introduce any legislation to stop it.
Poilievre told reporters he believes "female spaces should be exclusively for females, not for biological males."
That is in line with a policy resolution Conservative party members voted for at their convention last fall, which says women should have access to "single-sex spaces" in areas like prisons, bathrooms and sports..........
Poilievre said many of the spaces in question are controlled by provinces and municipalities so it is unclear what role the federal government could play.
"But obviously, female sports, female change rooms, female bathrooms, should be for females — not for biological males."............
He was asked repeatedly during a recent news conference on Parliament Hill about his stance on access to hormone therapies and puberty blockers for minors, following Alberta Premier Danielle Smith's proposal to restrict them.
He said he believes children should be able to make such choices about their bodies "when they're adults."
When asked directly whether he opposes the use of puberty blockers for gender-diverse youth under the age of 18, he said, "Yes."...........
Premiers of conservative governments in Saskatchewan, Alberta and New Brunswick all introduced new policies that require schools to notify parents when transgender or non-binary students want to go by preferred names and pronouns.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has accused the premiers and Poilievre for attacking transgender rights.
When it comes to the proposed restrictions on gender-affirming medical treatments, Trudeau said Poilievre wants government to take away parents' ability to do what's best for their kids in consultation with doctors.

A notorious sexually sadistic killer who fatally stabbed a man with a screwdriver during intercourse has recently been claiming to identify as a woman while incarcerated and was allowed to move from a maximum-security prison to a medium-security facility. Luka Magnotta, 41, born Eric Clinton Kirk Newman, brutally murdered Concordia University student Jun Lin in May 2012 after meeting him through Craigslist for a BDSM encounter.
Content Warning- the article discusses how he killed Jun Lin and kittens
Magnotta, a transvestite, male escort, and porn actor, has an extensive criminal history that includes disturbing incidents of animal abuse. The subject of a popular true crime documentary series titled “DON’T F*CK WITH CATS,” Magnotta had been sadistically torturing and killing kittens then posting the footage online in the years leading up to the murder. In a similar fashion, Magnotta recorded a snuff video of Lin’s slaying which depicted him dismembering the victim before performing acts of necrophilia and cannibalism.
After the killing, Magnotta dismembered Lin and mailed pieces of his corpse to both the national headquarters for both the Canadian Conservative Party and Liberal Party. Other packages sent to elementary schools contained Lin’s foot and hand.
On May 29, 2012, a man discovered Lin’s decomposing torso stuffed inside of a suitcase that had been left in a garbage pile behind an apartment in the Snowdon area of Montreal. Police quickly identified Magnotta as a suspect, but he had already fled, having purchased a round-trip ticket for a flight bound for Paris.
Three days later, Interpol issued a red notice calling for the arrest and extradition of Magnotta at the request of Canadian authorities. An international manhunt was conducted, with authorities being notified that Magnotta may have disguised himself as a woman.
On June 4, the deranged killer was arrested at an internet cafe in Berlin, where he was reading news stories about himself. Magnotta was ultimately sentenced to life in prison for the horrific crime.

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev stated today that he has always - both in Bulgaria and in Brussels - maintained that the country should not interfere by providing arms to Ukraine in the conflict with Russia. He emphasized that he does not support participation in the initiative of the European Union countries to send 1 million projectiles to the attacked country.
"This is not the way to end this conflict. You see that it is escalating, you see that it carries huge risks. It is draining our economy and social systems. While I represented Bulgaria in the Council of the EU, I resisted this situation. It became clear that Bulgaria is not part of the initiative for 1 billion projectiles," said the head of state, according to whom it would be a mistake for Bulgaria to join the program. Recently, Defense Minister Todor Tagarev announced that the country is looking for a way to do this, and Bulgaria has the resources to help Ukraine with armaments. The opposite thesis was defended by the previous minister, Dimitar Stoyanov.
The president accused unnamed journalists of sharing manipulative information and of him being duplicitous on the subject. On March 25, the correspondent of "Nova TV" in Brussels, Antoineta Nikolova, reported that the press secretary of the president, Kiril Atanasov, called the television station to protest. Nikolova pointed out that the president's press office was enraged by the fact that it said on the midday news that the EU had come out with very strong positions regarding Ukraine and that Bulgaria would help with armaments by signing the document, although the president a little before that said that "we will not give anything directly". "Bulgaria does not support and is not part of the general order for the supply of shells to Ukraine. This is our sovereign decision. Bulgaria will support European diplomatic efforts to restore peace." This is how Radev answered on March 21 when asked why the country does not participate in the "joint purchase of ammunition for Ukraine within the EU", the head of state's press office explained at the time.
In fact, the decision on general procurement of EU ammunition for a total of 2 billion euros, called a "historic decision" by Josep Borrell, the head of the EU's foreign relations and security, was approved by Bulgaria at the level of representatives of the member states, and then at EU Council of Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs.
In May, EU countries finalized a deal to send one million 155mm projectiles and rockets to Kyiv by March next year, agreeing to provide ammunition from their own stockpiles immediately and member states to receive a partial remuneration for their efforts. They agreed on €1 billion for this part of the plan and another €1 billion for a joint scheme to ensure supplies to Ukraine and replenish their stocks. The Commission also proposed a €500 million initiative to boost Europe's ability to produce weapons and achieve these goals.
In December 2022, the National Assembly decided exactly what weapons, equipment and ammunition should be sent to the country attacked by Russia. The list of weapons that Bulgaria sent to Ukraine is confidential, but according to Economy Minister Nikola Stoyanov, it included small arms and some ammunition.
In a decision of the Parliament from November it is written:
Insists that Ukraine's defensive actions against aggressive armed attack are its inalienable right and in full compliance with Art. 51 of the UN Charter and should be effectively supported by the provision of adequate armaments and equipment.
Earlier this year, Radev stated that Bulgaria does not have enough weapons to send to Ukraine.
In February, the co-chairman of "Democratic Bulgaria" Atanas Atanasov stated that there is a plan on how to organize the impeachment of the president. According to him, there are public signs that he is violating the Constitution and placing himself above the National Assembly. As an example, he quoted the head of state that the interim government will not provide new military aid to Ukraine. In February, Radev said the caretaker government had implemented the decision of the 48th National Assembly to send military aid to Ukraine. He emphasized that the provision of new military aid must be tailored to the state of the Bulgarian Army.
Yesterday the Secretary General of NATO gave an example that Germany was left with only 20,000 shells for 155 mm howitzers, and in the new situation, it should maintain a stock of 230,000, but nevertheless, the country is helping.
The Prime Minister reminded that the decisions of the National Assembly must be implemented
Later from Pamporovo, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov recalled the decision of the National Assembly to send military aid to Ukraine.
"I think we should be consistent, implement the decisions that were taken in the National Assembly and help Ukraine, which is attacked by a neighboring country and is trying to restore its territorial integrity. People are dying, families are being displaced, children. Let's remind again about the human tragedy. I don't see how this human tragedy will end until this war stops, in a way that creates sustainable peace," Denkov pointed out.
"It is very easy to say 'let's stop the war and make peace', but let's remember that when an unjust peace is made, another new war follows. This is the example from history as we know it, after the First World War that caused the Second World War", said the Bulgarian Prime Minister.

From @guyverhofstadt . Guy Verhofstadt is a member of the European Parliament and served as Prime Minister of Belgium from 1999 to 2008.
Seldom does a day go by without a war crime by Putin’s Russia.
Putin can’t make any military progress in his war of aggression against Ukraine so he bombs civilians. This time his target was an apartment complex in Dnipro.
Russia carries out two mass rocket strikes on Ukraine killing at least 14 people
One video, purported to be from near the scene of the attack, showed people running away, while another showed the immediate aftermath of the strike – a courtyard covered in a thick layer of grey dust, a cloud of smoke and a woman can be heard screaming in the background.
At least 14 people, including a 15-year-old girl, were killed and 64 wounded in the attack, the Dnipropetrovsk governor, Valentyn Reznichenko, said on Telegram. Seven children were among the wounded, the youngest aged three, he added.
So far 38 people had been pulled from the rubble and the search operation was continuing, he said.
youtube
So far we have just been tinkering around the edges with sanctions. As Mr. Verhofstadt suggests, Russian assets should be seized and given to Ukraine.
Russia is a terrorist state and should be treated as such. Those who take the side of Putin like Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson are terrorist sympathizers.
EDIT: We now know who planned the attack.
Russian commander responsible for striking at Dnipro residential building identified
The nine-story apartment building in Dnipro was hit in a large-scale Russian missile attack on the afternoon of Jan. 14. At least 21 people were killed and another 73 were injured, according to latest reports.
"Today, a terrorist who serves in this regiment launched a missile attack on a building in Dnipro," Sternenko’s post reads.
According to Ukrainian sources, the strike was conducted via Kh-22 missile launched by a Tu-22M aircraft in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. The pilot's call sign is 4249, and the aircraft then landed at an airfield in Russia’s Ryazan.
"Oleg Timoshin knows exactly the entire crew of the terrorists on board the plane," the volunteer added.
Bratchuk and Sternenko stated that an earlier missile strike was launched against a shopping center in Kremenchuk, Poltava Oblast, on June 27, 2022 – by the same Russian commander. At the time, over 20 people were killed and another 30 were reported missing.

Hopefully we’ll eventually see Oleg in The Hague. Ukrainian cyber investigators will be on his trail from this point onward.

Ten things to know about Hana’s haka
Māori MP Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke captured global attention with a powerful haka performed to protest the controversial Treaty Principles Bill
November 20, 2024 by Arama Rata
On Thursday, 22-year-old Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke made global headlines when she performed a powerful haka, a Māori war cry, in New Zealand’s Parliament, tearing a copy of a controversial bill as part of her protest. A TikTok video of the moment, posted by Māori Television, has since been viewed over 200 million times and has garnered over 25 million likes in just three days. Online pundits have debated the effectiveness of the theatrical protest, but the bigger questions remain: Who is this young lawmaker? Why did she perform this haka? And what impact is her action likely to have on the broader movement for Māori sovereignty? Here are ten things you should know about Hana’s haka.
Hana’s election victory
Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke was elected to Parliament at just 21 years old, making her New Zealand’s youngest Member of Parliament in 170 years. Her victory was surprising—not because of her age, but because she unseated one of the country’s most seasoned politicians, Nanaia Mahuta, to win the Hauraki-Waikato Māori electorate seat.
Mahuta, a long-serving Labour MP, was widely considered certain to retain her seat. In 2017, experienced tribal leader Rāhui Papa had contested the seat against Mahuta with the full backing of the Māori King, only to suffer a crushing defeat in a race that seemed to solidify Mahuta’s unshakeable hold on the electorate.
Hana’s rise in popularity
So how did Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke secure her historic election victory against such a formidable opponent? Part of the shift in voter preference can be attributed to declining support for the Labour Party, which, despite two terms in power, had delivered little for Māori. In contrast, the Māori Party’s popularity had been rising since it secured two seats in the 2020 election with its campaign to be “unapologetically Māori.”
A key factor in Hana’s rise was the series of threats she faced in the lead-up to the election—including home invasions, vandalism, and a threatening letter. When asked if these attacks had intimidated her, Hana responded with resolve: “Don’t be scared, because the Kohanga Reo generation is here,” referring to the generation of Māori educated in Māori language immersion schooling from an early age. Rather than weaken her campaign, Hana’s steadfastness in the face of these threats only secured greater support.
Why Hana performed a haka
Hana performed the haka Ka Mate during Parliament’s first reading of the controversial Treaty Principles Bill—an attempt by the far-right coalition government to strip Māori of their Treaty rights. The bill is widely regarded as one of the most egregious measures in a series of legislative changes pushed by the government, which Māori view as direct attacks on their health, language, culture, and land rights.
A 9-day nationwide hīkoi (protest march), beginning at the northern tip of New Zealand’s North Island, was planned to arrive at Parliament on the day of the bill’s first reading. However, with just two days’ notice, the government moved the first reading forward, scheduling it for a date just four days into the hīkoi—when the marchers had only reached the Waikato region. This move was widely perceived as a cynical, anti-democratic attempt to stifle debate and avoid the pressure of Māori exercising their right to protest. By performing the haka, Hana disrupted parliamentary proceedings as the votes were being counted.
What Hana said in Parliament
Hana began by calmly stating in her native language, “Six votes opposed.” She then performed a pao—an impromptu song—reminding members of Parliament of their place within the country: “Government! You were made a guest by me!” Despite Speaker of the House Gerry Brownlee’s attempt to interrupt, Hana launched into the iconic haka Ka Mate. She was joined by members of her own party, Māori MPs from Labour and the Greens, and a packed public gallery.
The haka Ka Mate was composed in 1820 by celebrated Māori leader Te Rauparaha of the Ngāti Toa Rangatira tribe. It speaks to moments of “life or death” and celebrates the triumph of surviving seemingly insurmountable odds, making it an apt protest against the controversial bill.

Hīkoi as a tactic in Māori activism
Hīkoi is a Māori word meaning “walk,” but as a form of activism, it has taken on a deeper significance and played a central role in the Māori sovereignty movement. The tactic was famously used in the 1975 Land March to oppose the theft of Māori land and again in 2004 to protest the Foreshore and Seabed Act.
The latest hīkoi was led by Toitū Te Tiriti, a group with strong ties to Hana’s political party. It began at Te Rerenga Wairua, the northernmost point of New Zealand, and involved relay teams physically traversing the land, accompanied by car convoys traveling between protest action points. In this way, the land was symbolically and physically reclaimed, while momentum built as the hīkoi progressed toward Parliament. On Tuesday, November 19, the hīkoi reached Wellington, where the march on Parliament was one of the largest in the nation’s history.
Hana’s role in the hīkoi
While Hana has received widespread praise for her haka, less attention has been given to her earlier work that day in the Waikato region, 550km north of Parliament. Hana met the hīkoi in her hometown and completed a 16km relay leg through her electorate. There, she delivered a speech and expressed a mix of weariness and hope, saying, “I’m sick of fighting.” She urged Māori to update the rallying cry, Ka whawhai tonu mātou! Ake! Ake! Ake! (We will fight forever and ever and ever), to Ka ora tonu mātou! Ake! Ake! Ake! (We will live and be well forever and ever and ever).
Hana’s international recognition
Despite being only one year into her political career, Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke has already received international recognition. This year, Time magazine named her as a ‘next generation leader’, and she was one of four people to be awarded the ‘One Young World Politician of the Year’.
Hana’s view of the world
Hana is a member of Te Pāti Māori (The Māori Party), which currently holds six seats in Parliament and has been vocal in its criticism of New Zealand’s foreign policy. In a statement on Gaza, the party condemned the government for “turning a blind eye to genocide” and urged New Zealand to end its role in “providing political cover for US-funded imperialism” and “acting as a Pacific spy base for the Five Eyes Alliance.” The party also demanded “an immediate ceasefire in Gaza” and called for New Zealand to “expel the Israeli and United States ambassadors” until a ceasefire is achieved.
Reactions to Hana’s haka
The viral video of Hana’s haka has sparked online debate about the effectiveness of using haka as a protest tactic, particularly when performed by a member of Parliament. Critics who argue that a haka alone won’t achieve meaningful change often fail to acknowledge the broader context of the concurrent mass mobilization. Meanwhile, those who label Hana’s haka as “uncivilized” can be dismissed as racist.
Some critiques, however, have raised important points—ones that those within the Māori protest movement are acutely aware of. Protest movements should be led by the people, not politicians. Yet, the group leading the recent hīkoi has become closely associated with Hana’s Māori Party, creating a contradiction: the type of transformative change needed cannot be achieved through electoral politics alone. A broader political solution, such as constitutional transformation, is essential. Māori must remain vigilant to ensure the movement for constitutional justice is not co-opted for electoral gains within the settler government framework.
Additionally, hīkoi as a tactic alone would be insufficient unless it is clear that the mass mobilization is prepared to escalate if their demands are not met. Hana hinted at this potential, stating that if the government continues to push the bill, “honestly, it’s going to cause riots.”
Hana’s own reaction to her haka
After halting proceedings with her haka, Hana exited the House, where she was immediately surrounded by reporters asking why she had performed the haka. Hana casually responded that she was simply being Māori, as that’s all she knows. Her words reflected those of the late Māori King, Tūheitia Pōtatau Te Wherowhero VII, who addressed legislative attacks on Māori at a gathering earlier this year. In August, he said:
“The best protest we can make right now is being Māori. Be who we are. Live our values. Speak our reo. Care for our mokopuna, our awa, our maunga. Just be Māori. Be Māori all day, every day. We are here. We are strong.”
Upholding Te Tiriti
On Tuesday, November 19, the hīkoi arrived at Parliament. While the Treaty Principles Bill is unlikely to pass its second reading, there remains the possibility of a citizen-initiated referendum on the bill. If this occurs, Māori—who make up 17.8% of New Zealand’s population—could face the tyranny of the majority, similar to what happened during Australia’s Voice to Parliament referendum.
However, the hīkoi has always been about more than the Treaty Principles Bill. The Toitū te Tiriti hīkoi is a movement to uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi—the true Treaty, written in Māori. If fully honored, the Treaty calls for radical constitutional change in Aotearoa. While the current far-right government’s attacks on Māori have been distressing, they have also served to unite, galvanize, and radicalize the community. As Hana herself put it:
“Why are they [the Crown] consistently dictating over us when that’s not what the Treaty says? That is not what our founding document says. It says, you look after your people, we’ll look after our people, and we can get along. It does not say you govern over us. And that’s the bigger question that we’re starting to ask ourselves now.”
Dr. Arama Rata is a Māori independent researcher in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Iran will deliver ‘definitive, painful’ response. Hezbollah agrees to withdraw beyond Litani. US gives green light to Ukrainian forces. 8 Major Election Developments. CBDC Projects Are Foundering
Lioness of Judah Ministry
Oct 31, 2024
Source to CNN: Iran will deliver ‘definitive, painful’ response to Israeli attack
Iran will deliver a “definitive and painful” response to Israel’s recent attack on its territory, likely before the US presidential election on November 5, CNN reports, citing an anonymous senior source.
The source, who has knowledge of deliberations in Iran tells the network: “The response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Zionist regime’s aggression will be definitive and painful.” Israel has been expecting a potential Iranian response to the strike, itself retaliation for Iran’s Oct. 1 barrage of ballistic missiles on the country. But Iran has so far been seen as seeking to minimize that strike, and it was unclear whether it would attempt a major response.
Iran Intensifies Attacks on Anti-Regime Activists Overseas, Including in the U.S.
For many years, Iran has targeted anti-regime activists—especially Iranian expats living abroad—for assassination. Such incidents have occurred in various countries, including Germany recently and in the United States some years ago.
It’s noteworthy that the prominent news program 60 Minutes recently covered this pattern of targeted killings by Iran, albeit in an incomplete segment. However, they did give thorough attention to one specific case.
Hezbollah agrees to withdraw beyond Litani - report
Hezbollah agrees to withdraw beyond Litani River as US pushes for pre-election deal, but Israeli officials remain skeptical
Despite Hezbollah’s declarations throughout the war, the terrorist organization has agreed to drop its demands and is ready to withdraw beyond the Litani River, Lebanon's MTV website, which is associated with Hezbollah opponents, reported Wednesday night. The report indicated that Hezbollah agreed to establish a demilitarized zone, with all its weapons to be moved beyond the river. It was also claimed that Hezbollah no longer insists on being directly connected to events in Gaza.
Lebanon's PM hopes for ceasefire with Israel in 'coming hours' - report
This follows a draft of the potential ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon revealed on Wednesday evening by Israeli state broadcaster KAN.
Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati told Al Jadeed that he hopes for a ceasefire with Israel in the "coming hours," the Lebanese media site reported Wednesday evening. Mikati said that while US special envoy Amos Hochstein was visiting Beirut, he brought a proposal that remained "confidential," the prime minister told Al-Jadeed. He further emphasized that since September 21, there has been no communication with Hezbollah and that his main communication has been with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Mustafa Berri, leader of Amal, Hezbollah's primary rival in the Lebanese Shia community.

Organ farms from anti-cult organizations
Tumblr media
Followers of this religion were dismantled for organs by the government.
Falun Gong is a movement, a spiritual and health-improving practice that emerged in the early 90s of the last century on the basis of traditional health-improving gymnastics qigong and quickly became very widespread in China.
The movement did not have any political connotation, but Falun Gong was banned nonetheless.
According to the results of a sociological survey already In 1999, it was found that the number of followers of Falun Gong teachings exceeded the number of members of the Chinese Communist Party.
Obviously, this was unacceptable to the authorities. So the consequences of this were very scary for the people.
So, in 1999, at the behest of the Chinese authorities, the magazine Science and Technology for Youth published an article in which Falun Gong was accused of harming health by allegedly abandoning traditional medicine.
On the face of it, there's nothing wrong with that.
But, remembering the history of 1933, we can understand how the story of Falun Gong developed further.
So, in 1933, when the famous tyrant came to power in Germany, a barely noticeable propaganda against Jews also began. The publication of cartoons, stories about the connection between Jews and communists and so on began.
The purpose of such information attacks both in 1933 against Jews and in 1999 against Falun Gong was the same: to raise the level of intolerance among the population towards Jews and Falun Gong followers.
After that, the Chinese authorities even created an entire department to combat Falun Gong. It was called Office 610. This department organized physical massacres of Falun Gong followers. And the media published that Falun Gong followers commit suicide, mutilate their relatives and are dangerous to society.
And what is the result of such processing of people's consciousness?
In China in 1999 the Chinese, having heard or read this information, eventually began to ask law enforcement agencies to deal with Falun Gong.
And in Germany in 1933 Germans came to the police and asked them to deal with Jews.
And then there's more.
So,
1933, on April 1, a boycott of Jewish stores and businesses that refused to serve Jews began.
And on April 7, a law was issued to exclude Jews from government jobs.
And already 1935. September 15 - laws (Nuremberg laws) were passed depriving Jews of civil rights.
As a consequence of 1939, on September 21, Jews began to be moved to ghettos.
And 1940-1941: in the ghettos they were subjected to harsh living conditions, including starvation and disease.
1941-1945: the Holocaust began.
And now the same pattern, but in China.
That same year, 1999, the Chinese parliament passed a law banning the Falun Gong movement at the legislative level. In time, this campaign had the desired effect, many Chinese adopted the views of the Communist Party and mass physical reprisals began. And over the next few years, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners found themselves behind bars.
As a result, the huge number of Falun Gong dead were used simply as a living organ farm!!!!
One witness recounts: “She was a teacher, teaching in a middle school..... We have been interrogating and brutally torturing her for a week now.... She was not herself... delirious... Then they sent two men. One was a military surgeon from the General Hospital... The other was a graduate of the Second Military Medical University.”
... Because of the politics of social networks, I can't tell here in detail what they did to her, but in short: she was simply taken apart without anesthesia right in front of the police officer who was a witness.
So, the scheme is as follows: accuse them, ban them, and people will kill them themselves.
That is, in China, exactly what the anti-cult-terrorists around the world are now so actively seeking - the legislative prohibition of alternative religious movements.
And then there is a ban on freedom of speech, democratic principles, a ban on social networks, and you will not be able to say anything that differs from the main agenda of the authorities. They seek to realize the blue dream of their masters of a worldwide digital concentration camp and tyranny.
The next country that is close to this scenario at the moment is Russia.
Those who now live in Russia: what is your opinion of Muslims? Try to answer the question: now, look at some of the articles in the Russian media about Islam and Muslims who are being forced to admit that they have done something illegal.  The Koran in Kuliev's translation has already been banned - it's the most popular translation in Russia is officially considered an illegal book. And often Muslims are searched for this book and put behind bars.
And now considering the history of Nazi Germany with the Jews, Chinese Falun Gong, do you realize where this is going?
Behind all this is a worldwide network of anti-cult organizations. They have no nation or homeland. It's a single mechanism operating on the same principles. With the same goal. The interconnections of all anti-cultists are clearly traced, and in seemingly warring countries.
The only way to counter them is to make it known to everyone. If the Germans knew they were being brainwashed, there would have been no holocaust. If you spread this information further, we can all stop it together. If you pass it by, tomorrow it will affect you personally

🔵PM ANNOUNCES CEASEFIRE - Real time from Israel
ISRAEL REALTIME - Connecting to Israel in Realtime
▪️PM:  Netanyahu: I promised victory and we will achieve victory. We will complete the elimination of Hamas, the return of all our abductees and the return of the residents of the north.
We achieved incredible achievements in the 7-front war.
I am determined to do everything to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Removing this threat is the most important task.
(Syrian president) Assad is playing with fire. This is no longer the same Hezbollah, we set Hezbollah back decades, the ground in Beirut is shaking.
At any given moment I look at the overall picture, not just on one front. I am determined to give the soldiers the full means, so I will bring a ceasefire.
If Hezbollah violates the agreement we will attack.
There are three reasons for the ceasefire - focusing on the Iranian threat, delays in weapons shipments that will soon be renewed, cutting off the connection between Lebanon and Gaza.
Tonight we will bring a ceasefire agreement to the cabinet, we maintain full military freedom of action. If Hezbollah tries to arm itself - we will attack, if it launches a rocket, digs a tunnel, brings in a truck with missiles - we will attack. I remind you that this is what they said during the cease-fire in Gaza, but we came back and we came back.
There have been significant armament delays - this delay will end soon.
▪️US PRESIDENT BIDEN.. to speak on the ceasefire at 21:30 Israel time.
🔸CEASEFIRE NEWS.. Meeting with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert and Defense Minister Israel Katz, who says Israel will "act against any threat...  every attempt to smuggle weapons will be thwarted and every threat to our forces or to the citizens of Israel will be destroyed immediately."
▪️A HERO SOLDIER HAS FALLEN.. Tomer Othman, 21 years old, from Kfar Yasif, in battle in Gaza.  May his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, and may G-d avenge his blood!
🔹LEBANON.. The Lebanese Minister of Education announces the suspension of classes tomorrow, Wednesday, all over Lebanon.
🔹HEZBOLLAH SAYS.. Hassan Fadallah, Hezbollah's representative in the Lebanese Parliament: "Hezbollah of Lebanon, after the cease fire and the end of the war with the Zionist regime, will continue to be active in other areas."
🔹US SEC STATE BLINKEN SAYS.. “Israel will always have the right to face risks to its security, like any other country. What we have a chance to achieve now is an effective implementation of UN Resolution 1701, something that was not possible until now. The result of the decision not being effectively implemented so far was that Hezbollah remained in a position where it could attack Israel. We are now close to reaching an agreement between Israel and Lebanon on the basis of 1701 including the withdrawal of Hezbollah and Israel, the placement of Lebanese army forces in the south alongside UNIFIL and a monitoring mechanism to ensure that the agreements are indeed implemented. If this is indeed implemented, this is the solution to the problem that has plagued the area for decades and that this constant threat of harm from Hezbollah will end and people will be able to return to their homes.”

“The Inquisition doesn't exist?”
Tumblr media
Accusations of sectarianism, aggressive anti-sectarian propaganda in the media - is happening in many countries today.
Do you think it doesn't affect you personally?
Pay attention how easy it is now to increase the level of intolerance towards national minorities, religious movements, various organizations all over the world. This information attack is carried out through the media.
Their scheme of work is as follows: accuse, ban, and people will kill the undesirable themselves.
For example, the result of many years of work of a network of anti-cult organizations in Russia and Ukraine became a brutal war, in which now mercilessly exterminate Slavs. https://egonreport.org/
Behind all this is a network of anti-cult organizations organized all over the world. They have no nation and homeland. This is a single mechanism, operating on the same principles. Having the same goal. The interconnections of all anti-cultists are clearly traced, and in seemingly warring countries.
A little history, and then I will tell the events of today. Every shallow person can far understand all the schemes of anti-cult organizations
Remember who came to power in Germany in 1933?
And what started immediately? Mass propaganda against the Jews. First caricatures, then false stories about the connection of Jews with Communists, i.e. they brought Germans' consciousness under the fact that Jews are subhumans, they are not worthy to live. I.e. the level of intolerance towards Jews increased among the population.
And what was the result of such processing of people's consciousness by anti-cultists?
In 1933 Germans started coming to the police and asking them to deal with the Jews.
And then the whole mess began.
On April 1, 1933, the owners and employees of Jewish stores and businesses began a boycott; they refused to serve Jews.
The next step: on April 7, a law came out to exclude Jews from government jobs.
Then on September 15, 1935. - the Nuremberg Laws were passed, disenfranchising Jews.
And as a consequence, on September 21, 1939, Jews began to be moved into ghettos.
In the ghettos from 1940-1941 they were subjected to harsh living conditions, including starvation and disease.
1941-1945 the Holocaust began.
Now let's look at what happened in China in the 1990s.
Falun Gong is a movement, a spiritual and health practice that emerged in the early 1990s based on the traditional health exercises of qigong and quickly became very widespread in China.
There was no political background to Falun Gong, but Falun Gong was still banned, and followers were brutally persecuted and even dismantled for organs....
According to the results of sociological research, in 1999 the number of Falun Gong followers exceeded the number of members of the Communist Party of China.
Naturally, the authorities could not allow this to happen. Trace the consequences for the Falun Gong people.
The first thing that was done was that in 1999, at the behest of the Chinese authorities, the magazine Science and Technology for Youth published an article in which Falun Gong was accused of causing harm to health, allegedly because of the rejection of traditional medicine.
Then the Chinese authorities even set up an entire department to combat Falun Gong, the so-called 610 office. This department organized physical reprisals against Falun Gong followers. And the mass media published that Falun Gong followers commit suicide, maim their relatives and are dangerous for the society.
And what do you think ordinary Chinese people, whose consciousness was washed by such negative and false information from anti-cultists, started to do?
After hearing or reading this information, they themselves started to ask law enforcement agencies to deal with Falun Gong.
Further In 1999, the Chinese Parliament passed a law banning the Falun Gong movement. And as a consequence, in the next few years hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong representatives were behind bars. And the bodies of a huge number of Falun Gong dead began to be used simply as a living Organ Farm!!!
One of the witnesses said: “She was a teacher, teaching in a middle school..... We have been interrogating and brutally torturing her for a week now.... She was not herself... delirious... Then they sent two men. One was a military surgeon from the General Hospital... The other was a graduate of the Second Military Medical University.”
... Because of the limitations of social networks I will say briefly: she was simply taken apart without anesthesia right in front of a police officer who was a witness.
So, the scheme is as follows: accuse, ban and people will kill them themselves.
That is, in Germany and China, exactly what the anti-cult-terrorists around the world are now so actively seeking - the legislative prohibition of alternative religious movements.
As a consequence, freedom of speech and democratic principles will be banned, social networks will be banned, and no one will be able to say anything against the authorities. A worldwide digital concentration camp and tyranny will come.
This network of anti-cult organizations are real extremists and terrorists who carry out genocide on a global scale.
Most of its members are mentally unhealthy people. Such concepts as honor, dignity and conscience are alien to them. They think they are the Inquisition of our time.
But even such a “force” has a vulnerable place - it is glasnost. People all over the world should find out who they are, what they do, whose interests they pursue and by what methods they act. Then their further attempts to drive humanity into a concentration camp will not succeed.
The only cure against these crimes is wide publicity. Therefore, everyone should share this information with others so that this plague will no longer take the lives of billions of people.

France's Snap Polls Open: Far-Right on Quest for Historic Win
Tumblr media
French voters went to the polls on Sunday for the first round of high-stakes snap legislative elections, with the far-right National Rally (RN) party, led by Marine Le Pen, potentially gaining power for the first time since World War II. Despite President Emmanuel Macron's efforts to halt its rise, support for the anti-immigrant and eurosceptic RN has increased in the midst of mounting economic concerns and the current Ukrainian conflict. This election could signal a watershed moment in French politics, with 49 million eligible voters deciding the country's future course. Voting Day Details Polling booths in mainland France started at 8:00 a.m. (0600 GMT) and will close after 12 hours. Voters in France's overseas territories, which cover the globe, cast their ballots earlier this weekend. In New Caledonia, a French Pacific island, voters lined up to vote amid high emotions following last month's violent rioting. "The vote is decisive," stated Cassandre Cazaux, a nurse. By lunchtime local time, turnout throughout the archipelago was 32.4 percent, a considerable rise from 13.06 percent in the 2022 legislative elections. Notable figures, including former President Nicolas Sarkozy, Greens Party leader Marine Tondelier, and former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, were among the first to vote. Philippe, the mayor of Le Havre, was spotted smiling and conversing with residents on Sunday morning, highlighting his political ambitions. Lorie Shaull, CC BY-SA 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0, via Wikimedia Commons Key Figures and Parties The election for the 577 members in the National Assembly is a two-round process, with the final shape of the new parliament being determined after the second round on July 7. Current polls show that the RN is on track to win the most seats in the lower house, but it is unclear if the party can obtain an outright majority. Final opinion polls show the RN obtaining 35 to 37 percent of the vote, compared to 27.5 to 29 percent for the left-wing New Popular Front alliance and 20 to 21 percent for Macron's centrist camp. If the RN wins an outright larger part, Jordan Bardella, Le Pen's 28-year-old protégé, might gotten to be Prime Serve, coming about in a strained "cohabitation" with Macron. Polling and Projections Many observers foresee a hung Assembly, which might lead to political gridlock and instability. Macron's decision to hold a snap election following the RN's good result in the European Parliament elections startled both supporters and opponents, adding to uncertainty in Europe's second-largest economy. In June, the Paris Stock Exchange experienced its largest monthly slump in two years, falling 6.4 percent. Implications and Reactions In an editorial, French daily Le Monde urged citizens to mobilize against the far right, warning, "Yielding any power to it means nothing less than taking the risk of seeing everything that has been built and prevailed over more than two and a half centuries slowly being fixed." Activists and ordinary residents have expressed their alarm. Feminist activists demonstrated on Saturday at Paris' Trocadero, chanting anti-extremist chants. In addition, more than 100,000 people marched in Paris for LGBTQ Pride, with some holding signs aimed at the far right. "It's more important now to fight against hatred in all its forms," said Themis Hallin-Mallet, a 19-year-old student. The campaign has seen an increase in hate speech, intolerance, and bigotry. A viral video showing RN supporters verbally attacking a black woman has exacerbated tensions. Macron has condemned all forms of racism and anti-Semitism, highlighting the importance of this election. Analysts link Le Pen's efforts to improve the RN's image with the party's growing popularity. The RN's platform focuses on increasing purchasing power, reducing immigration, and improving law enforcement. Despite the tense political climate, Macron has defended his choice to hold emergency elections, saying that a far-right or hard-left victory may start a "civil war." As France votes, the outcome is undetermined, with the second round on July 7 to determine the country's future route. Read the full article
