We all know at this point that the name Astarion is connected to the word "star" (starry or little star).

But Larian decided that they wanted to go all in with the details and they delivered!

The flower you can place on his tomb in the final romance scene (which I think is such a cute and tender gesture and I love his reaction to it), seems to be an Ornithogalum umbellatum, a star-shaped white flower with six petals. Among the plant's many common names, there are summer snowflake, starflower, and star-of-Bethlehem.

Moreover, in the language of flowers, its meanings are related to trauma, mourning, and welcoming pain without repressing it.

According to Doctor Edward Bach (1886 – 1936), these flowers are "For those who find themselves in a state of great anguish due to situations that, in a given period, have caused so much unhappiness", and can be used to help with the aftermath of a trauma, the alleviation of pain and the mourning process.

Edit: every time I see an artist include this flower in their Astarion fanart my heart swells with joy. Love this community

The long-overdue "look what I did!" post of FF6 fanart that I did for the 30th anniversary calendar project. You might recognize the source material:

-Cayenne/Gau is based on Alphonse Mucha's SOCIÉTÉ POPULAIRE DES BEAUX - ARTS. 1897

My friend Scotty assisted with the French to make it more .... relevant to FF6. I imagine that Cayenne would teach Gau how to have good manners post-game.

-The park is probably the most recognizable piece, based on Georges Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte /Un dimanche après-midi à l'Île de la Grande Jatte. 1884-1886. There may or may not be some friends in this picture, maybe even a chick you recognize?

-Relm's self portrait is my favorite, based on Triple Self-Portrait by Norman Rockwell. 1960.

I learned a ton about using references and techniques in CSP, although I still don't really know what I'm doing.

Planes&Cars fan’s night thoughts:

How do cars and planes reproduce? Like…really…they can't reproduce sexually, can they? If they are built in factories, who built the first car (the first plane)? In Cars on the road we’re told about the existence of dinosaurs and primitive cars in this world…So they went through a process of evolution? Like humans? Uh…. So they're not built in factories? Then how do they reproduce? Sexually? But they don't have genitalia… By budding? HOW?! Where do they come from?! Ripslinger's phrase "Legends aren't born, they're built" breaks my brain🤯🤯🤯…

Is a relationship between different kinds, models of machines possible? Like…is a relationship between a plane and a car possible? (I've seen such fanart) Between a car/plane and a forklift? Is a relationship possible between a passenger plane (like Boeing) and an ag-plane? Are there any such cases? How does society feel about such a thing? Like…Boeing and a crop duster are very different in size…Boeing is much bigger. (I'm reminded of the meme "Is he handsome? - It doesn't matter, his height is 190. I'll never see his face.")

Do they have the same timeline as we do? Like, uh, do they believe in Christ too? Like…in Car Christ? Mmm…the automobile was invented in 1886…steam engines and boats were invented earlier, of course…but it's all very strange.

Does their universe have (did, God rest her soul) its own Elizabeth 2? So there are machine versions of each of us out there?

Why do they need separate toilets? Do they have anything else different about the male and female sexes besides eyelashes and lips? Do they have genitals?! So they do reproduce sexually?! Noooo

No, it's more about new adaptations changing white characters to non-white. Especially when it doesn't make much sense in the setting (EG Bridgerton)*.

In fact, people complained about the lack of non-white members of The Order 1886. Even though the game is about a royal society of noble monster hunters in the 19th century.

Heck, has a woman and a Frenchman in the gang. That's already unusually progressive.

I haven't seen much pushback about the idea of racebending in fanart. I do personally roll my eyes at certain reaching interpretations (IE black Harry Potter or Katniss Everdeen).

And I'm only talking about racebending WHITE characters, mind, as there are a disproportionate amount of them and it wouldn't hurt if a few were…. not white. disproportionate

Also, some people use "diversity" to mean "less white people", even when the cast is not actually diverse at all (EG Black Panther).

For example: musical fandom. stage musical is a different medium to movies.

And yet most of the complaints I see about racebending are for TV and movie adaptations. Theatre, less so.

(granted, musical heather duke is a strange case because she's the ONLY character whose race is consistently changing but i digress)

make your own character, if I wanted an oc or a self-insert I'd write original fiction no one would read.

I’ve finally finished it! This is a video I’ve been wanting to make for ages. I’m a huge sucker for any Ducktales/Community crossover content, and I remembered this scene with Huey and Gyro’s VAs that I feel fits them so damn perfectly- I’m kinda surprised I haven’t seen anyone use this audio before.
