They spurned me to create this comic with their unending enthusiasm and repeated promises to lose their mind if I did. There's something to be said about Kai I think. Her first truly big moment in the movie was the "Am I just a uterus to you?" scene, and at that point she seemed to fully understand that the people in charge were seeing everyone below them as ressources, not people, because Marshall was seeing her, a person, as nothing more than perfect genetics. That point of view is further solidified by her saving Mickey's life just after that, showing that she doesn't even see him as truly expendable. And then she gives him tea and she speaks to him like a friend and she also asks the same question everyone asks but she has a reason to ask, it's not just morbid curiosity, it's to help her grieve. That's a legit reason, right? She's not using him, not really. He's being used like a lab rat or a tool by everyone else, but not by her. She just needs company.

She doesn't see Mickey as a person, not truly. She's not using him in the same way that the researchers are using him, but she still tries to use him, for one-sided emotional support and then for sexual company. And then she tries to bargain with Nasha about taking one of the two Mickeys for herself, without Mickey being here, talking to Nasha as if Nasha was owning Mickey, talking about Mickey as if he was just a commodity. She sees herself as morally superior to Marshall and Ylfa, because she tells herself that every person, even Mickey, is a person and not a tool, but deep down her reasoning is very similar to theirs.

jiang cheng and lan wangji working together trying to find wei wuxian while he was trapped in the burial mounds is actually objectively hilarious, like two of the most socially awkward boys in cultivation society — who kinda hate each other but definitely hate smalltalk — being forced into close proximity and extended contact for months all because they happen to love the same wonderfully annoying/self sacrificing boy (who is also maybe the reason they hate each other but like hell will either of them admit to it)… not to mention their emotions are running high and their stress levels even higher but all of this is happening with more than a couple underlings always flitting about and clan politics to worry about (oh and also a war) so they can’t even argue they just have to. exist. in the same space. in ever increasingly tense and awkward silences. it’s just funny to think about idk
