PERSONALITY

At first glance, Faustine is seen as distant, mysterious, even unapproachable. Many students talk behind her back to describe her this way. In reality, she is easy to approach and become friends with. She is happy to help others, although her kindness is not to be abused: if you ask her to risk her life for trivialities, she will refuse outright, or not hesitate to ask for something in return. But if you tell her about secret passages and other hidden treasures, she will accept to embark on any adventure, driven by her curiosity. This curiosity often leads her to get involved in things that are none of her business.

She has grown up in an environment that has consistently seen her as a nobody, which causes her to suffer from the savior complex. She constantly fears being seen as useless and not up to par, and feels compelled to prove to others her true worth. She is then easily stressed or burned out. If she manages to remain one of the top students in her class while hunting dark wizards and poachers, her friends must be careful that she doesn't overdo it. She despises laziness and hate when people attribute her success to luck, rather than hard work. She is afraid that lack of knowledge will prevent her from getting ahead in life. Being locked up in a Muggle orphanage for 15 years has also given her an extreme need for freedom. Introverted and solitary, she takes refuge in her imagination or flies on the back of a hypogriff on a whim when she needs to be alone.

Although calm and serious, once she feels comfortable with someone, she is much more relaxed, sarcastic and cynical. She likes to tease her friends, and can become really silly. Empathetic and always with good advice, she is the person you go to when you need to confide. She cherishes her best friends as family (Sebastian, Ominis, Poppy, Natsai and Amit). Once her trust is earned, her loyalty is unwavering. She will do anything for her closest friends, and will protect them at any cost. The only way to make her lose her temper is to take it out on them.

She then wants to learn the most dangerous and forbidden spells such as dark magic. If she knows that this type of magic is illegal, no matter what it is called, it can be useful if it allows her to save people. She believes that any type of magic can be used according to its purpose, but it only concerns her (she doesn't trust others who might misuse it…). Nevertheless, she tries not abuse these spells and prefers to use ancient magic, which is also effective and not illegal.

She can easily roasts you in a verbal argument. She prefers to use words to fight, but will not hesitate to use her wand or her fists when things go too far (even if she isn’t very good in close combat). When her friends are personally attacked, she can become very violent and ruthless. Better to have her as an ally than as an enemy. She is not very forgiving and believes that revenge justifies the means. She fights for her own conception of justice.

Sebastian Sallow. He and Faustine have a real sibling relationship. They tease and make fun of each other, bicker, and make up. Faustine is the most cynical and sarcastic when she’s with him. She doesn't hesitate to tell him about her adventures outside Hogwarts and about ancient magic. She appreciates his optimism, his humor and his outspokenness, and quickly became attached to him at the beginning of the year, when he took her under his wing. They have a mutual trust, where both of them have each other's backs. If Faustine remains the more reasonable of the two, she is easily drawn into his adventures by curiosity and friendship. Knowing that he is stubborn in his decisions, when he wants to go on dangerous expeditions, she prefers to accompany and help him, to make sure nothing happens to him. Faustine is sympathetic in his quest to help his sister despite the dangers, because she knows she would do the same for him (even if Sebastian doesn't always realize it). Nevertheless, since Sebastian is stubborn and Faustine's patience has its limits, when their disagreements go too far, she doesn't hesitate to tell him what she thinks about his attitude then leave, expecting a sincere apology. Which he always ends up doing, and she always ends up accepting it. She knows he is flawed, but so is she; and while she doesn't know why or how she became so attached to this student, she's still willing to do anything for him.

Friends :

Ominis Gaunt : Ominis didn't like Faustine much at the beginning of the year, seeing her as a threat who might get Sebastian into trouble, and being afraid that she would replace him in their friendship. But he quickly realized that Sebastian didn't need her to get himself into bad situations, and that Faustine was there to get him out. Faustine, despite their rather cold start, immediately wanted to be his friend. Because if she’s friend with Sebastian, and he is too, why can’t them be friends too ? She quickly gained his trust by defending him on several occasions when he was arguing with Sebastian. Faustine appreciates Ominis' calm, sarcasm, sensitivity and intelligence, which balances Sebastian's personality. They are partners in some classes and enjoy spending time together.

Poppy Sweeting : Sometimes you don't need a lot of reasons to get along with someone. With Poppy, Faustine simply has a good connection. She likes her for her kindness and dedication to helping magical creatures. Faustine feels this need to help her and protect her from harm, especially when she finds herself in situations where she doesn't seem to realize the dangers that face her. Poppy's enthusiasm is contagious, and her presence always cheers Faustine up when she feels stressed.

Natsai Onai : If there is anyone Faustine trusts the most, it is her. Faustine knows her loyalty and courage are unwavering. Natty’s quest to destroy the dark wizards to protect her new home resonates strongly with Faustine, who desires the same thing. She appreciates Natty's trust in her, confiding in her about her feelings and her father's death. Even though Natty complains about her mother being overprotecting, Faustine can't help but be jealous that she has a mother who loves and cares about her.

Amit Thakkar : Amit is a fellow Ravenclaw whom she got to know better during astronomy classes. She appreciates his kindness and his passion for the stars, and willingly listens to him talk about them, even if she doesn't necessarily understand everything. They share a passion for reading adventure novels, and can discuss about it for hours without interruption. He frequently lends her books, and they look like two passionate nerds when they are in their common room. She sympathizes with his desire for adventure that she felt in the Muggle world, and doesn't mind his fearful temperament. Even though he is always worried when she takes him on more or less dangerous adventures, he is still loyal to her and wants to help her (which is good for Faustine, because she often finds herself in the opposite situation where she has to help people). As with Poppy, Faustine also feels a strong sense of protection towards him.

Caligo : Faustine rescued the black hypogriff from poachers. Much like Poppy with Highwing, Faustine and Caligo became really close, and they love to fly together under the starry sky. He is a proud hypogriff who won't let anyone but Faustine (and eventually Poppy) get near to him. He will stay with her even after Hogwarts.

Mentor :

Professor Fig : Professor Fig is the first to have a fatherly attitude towards her. He took her under his wing, educating her about this new world she knew nothing about, while teaching her magic with patience and kindness. They are both stubborn and misunderstood by their peers, and they both despise idiots. If Fig appreciated Faustine long before her discovery of ancient magic, their secret has bound them together. He may not admit it, but Faustine is his favorite student, and he does favors for her that he wouldn't do with other students. They are on the same wavelength, so much so that we could really think they are part of the same family.

She never forgives herself for his death.

Other :

She doesn’t like Garreth Weasley and Leander Prewett. She also didn’t likes Imelda Reyes at first, but at the end of the year, they both gained mutual respect for each other. Samantha Dale is one of her roommate, with whom she gets along well.

BACKSTORY

(Fic of her backstory)

Faustine has always lived in a muggle orphanage. She was found as a baby outside the doors of the orphanage and has no clue as to the identity of her biological parents. She grew up hoping to find a family, but after a certain age, she accepted the idea that she would never be adopted. The director and the other children kept telling her that no one would ever want her. Knowing that she was doomed to be homeless as soon as she came of age, Faustine decided to study. She hoped to find a job that would allow her to avoid poverty. She learned to be independent and to rely only on herself.

Reading brought her comfort in her gloomy life. All the fantasy stories took her on a journey, allowing her to escape her fate. She was often criticized for not living enough in the real world, but it was the only way she could make life bearable. At 14, Faustine was one of the eldest children in the orphanage. The director took advantage of this to give her thankless tasks, justifying that she was preparing her for real life.

One day, while Faustine was out shopping for the orphanage, she overheard two men talking about magic. Curious, she decided to follow them discreetly into the bad streets. While spying on them, she realized that they were wizards. Unfortunately, they were dark wizards who were smuggling illegal goods into the muggle world. Faustine was discovered, and the two men went after her to kill her. After attacking her with various offensive spells, Faustine was caught in a dead end. One of the wizards cast the death spell on her. At the same time, the ancient magic within her awoke. A magical blue bubble formed around her and blocked the spell. And in a fraction of a second, this magic retaliated by reducing the two wizards to dust. Faustine, unconscious, will only have a scar on her face as a souvenir of this confrontation. When she woke up at the hospital, she didn't remember what had happened. During her recovery, Faustine witnessed strange events. Objects began to move and levitate around her. The next day, an owl flew in through her window and handed her a strange letter. It said that she was admitted to Hogwarts, the school for apprentice wizards. Faustine didn't know how to react. She wanted to believe it. All her life she had dreamed of an escape. She felt like she was living in one of those fantasy books she loved so much. Her blackout, the levitating objects, the letter... The magic seemed real. But she kept it a secret until she had more information. She was afraid she would be given false hope.

Until Professor Fig arrived. He told her about the letter, and confirmed that she was a witch. Her powers seemed to have awakened only a few days ago, justifying the fact that she had not been located by the school before. He offered to mentor her, explaining that he had arranged with the director of the orphanage to keep it a secret. Faustine was overjoyed. She asked the professor to bring her as many books about the wizarding world as possible. She wanted to learn as much as she could about it. She felt - she knew - that she belonged there, and that a new and better life awaited her. And why not a family?

FUTURE

After Hogwarts, Faustine studied to become an Auror. Thanks to her seriousness, her experience with dark wizards, and her ever-growing ancient magic, she quickly became one of the best. She is known in the domain for being pitiless. But after a few years of service, she realized that she didn't want to give up her passion -books-, and that she wanted to make people dream with them, just like her. She then owned a magical library, which she maintained with former house elf Penny. She remained a part-time Auror, accepting only the most important and dangerous assignments from the Ministry. Over the years, she studied literature, philosophy and sociology. She took part in many political debates in the wizarding world, notably to defend equality between wizards and Goblins. And just like when she’s Auror, she’s just as ruthless to defend justice. She became an important and influential figure in the wizarding world. Her professions allowed her to live a comfortable life. If she didn't have time to build a family life, it doesn't bother her at all. Faustine is seen as the rich and eccentric single aunt in her found family, and continues to help them whenever they need it. As people said, "she is married to freedom".

AUTHOR NOTE

Faustine Daemon is based on my experience and decisions in the game. She is a mix between the general personality given to the MC, and a self insert. But working on her backstory and pushing her personality makes her a sort of OC I guess. I tried to make her backstory and personality justified and consistent with what the game tell us about (so not so much).

Don't hesitate to ask me questions about her, or to suggest interactions with your MCs, I'd love to read them! (and why not draw them?)

When I gave as one of the reasons why Rose was the Doctor's true love, I said it was because she was the only one with whom he felt the desire to completely settle down and stop to travel. It still holds despite 14, because 14 doesn't definitively settle down to lead a normal life for the rest of his eternal life. He's just taking a break, because he needs it badly. (Not surprising after everything he's been through, especially the change / true about his origins) Tentoo for its part has found a permanent home alongside Rose, within his family. They had a daughter. They live happily and grow older day by day. The one 14 found with Donna is only temporary. He won't stay with his surrogate family forever. It will not grow old day by day. He won't be able to have children. It will remain the time to get better and then start traveling again and protect the universe. The proof is the fact that 15 went to do exactly that. The Doctor / Time Lord has such adventures, but he can never have a life like that, because he is not human.

So people stop saying that the Doctor finally has a real normal life and a happy ending. He'll never have one. (Apart from Tentoo) The Doctor has certainly finally understood that he can rest from time to time instead of always running, not constantly push away the people he loves and be emotionally open. Which is very good ! The guy can't stay at the same point for all his eternity on that ! But he didn't decide to live a normal life despite his immortality, stop the bullshit. He's simply taking a well-deserved break before getting back on the right foot mentally. And he chose to rest with those he saw as his family / home. (We'll... say that this is somewhat logical since Donna was symbolically the Doctor's sister and even became one on a biological level for Tentoo)

On the other hand, that doesn't mean that the Doctor will be able to enter into relationships with humans... I already see people saying that Rose misses the real Doctor because he finally opens up emotionally, and that annoys me. Already, from one, Tentoo is the real Doctor. Two, just because the Doctor is finally open emotionally speaking with his platonic relationships doesn't mean he's going to be open romantically. Maintaining a friendly relationship when you are immortal is not the same as having a romantic relationship. 15 may have said he loved Rose. But already, from one, it was in the past tense, so nothing to do with a confession of love in the present tense, and also, it was just after talking about Sarah Jane. At this point, the Doctor hasn't been in love with Rose for centuries. It went away with the death of Ten. Of course, the Doctor still loves her, but platonically, as one of his best friends. He is no longer in love with her. I'm tired of seeing people wanting a reunion between Rose and 14. I never want to see that. Rose is romantically owned by Nine, Ten, and Tentoo. (Even if we can add Eight to the list with the comic Empire of the Wolf... ?) NOT TO 14 !

His mother smiled, “Yes, yes he was… He was like the sun to me, the brightest sun.” She patted his head and slowly moved him off her lap into his own bed. “Now get some sleep ok?”

“But but what about you? I wanna hear about your adventures please!!!” He cried out jumping out of his bed and latching onto his mother. She caught him and gently tossed him back in bed. “Mommmm!!”

“I know I know… Another time, ok?” She reached for her son’s hair and took off a purple and teal butterfly clip out then placed it on a little nightstand. 

“But you also fought a high ranking demon before, Upper Moon 2!! That’s gotta be so cool cool! I love you mommy please!!” He cried, “..I know I miss dad but that doesn’t mean I don’t wanna hear about you..” 

His mother looked at him with sadness and sighed, “I’ll tell you tomorrow but you have to sleep all night though go it?” 

“... Promise?” He pouted, asking with fake tears.

“I promise, goodnight Tamaki.” And with that, she closed the window and left him to sleep another night away…

Personality: A similar one to Tanjiro’s, bright and caring- he puts others before himself. Tamaki’s very understanding and empathetic to others' pain, always trying to comfort them. He’s not a fan of being mean, but when it comes to battle it’s like he becomes a whole new person. He’s quiet, stern and even brings out an insult, taking after his mother when it comes to combat.

Backstory: Tamaki was born 2 years after the war had ended, his parents being Tanjiro Kamado and Kanao Tsuyuri. At first, life was pretty normal. Two parents that loved him and took care of him, telling him all their adventures as Demon Slayers. Tamaki loved hearing about them, though his mother never said much. He’d hang out with the butterfly triplets a lot since they were the closest to his age, Aoi would babysit him also in case someone in the house got sick. 

From the time he was one, he was told his father would die at 25 because of the Slayer Mark he got. Tamaki was scared but ultimately accepted it, after all it’s not like he’d forget him because of the memories they’d make. Tanjiro taught him most of Sun Breathing- or more so showed him since he was FAR too young to hold a weapon. Tamaki watched with enthusiasm, he wanted to one day hold a blade and use Sun Breathing just like Tanjiro. He was close to everyone that survived the war and those who Tanjiro knew.

Later, he’s now 5, he got a baby cousin named Tenshi Agatsuma. Tamaki treasured her like his little sister and swore to look out for her. By this time however… Fear rose, nothing was the same- Senjuro went to kill a demon and he hadn’t come back for over a week and when he did… His arm was missing and half of his face was torn off. He was alive at the cost of pain. He told them another one claiming to be Kibutsuji has decided to take on Muzan’s wishes- Senjuro was lucky to survive. That when havoc broke loose…

Half the old Demon Slayers couldn’t fight anymore, not to mention they haven’t in years and there were no Hashira left. They had to rely on the Demon Slayers that chose to stay, they had to call back the Ubuyashiki clan. They did, everything was slowly put back together as was the demons. Tamaki watched it all and trained much younger- at 8 years old just to fight and protect the Corps in place of his father…

Nothing could ever be the same again…

Hi! Hu! Hi! It's me, again! I just had a thought and I needed to get it out and you'll be the one I thought of first- other than my sister who is not a Whovian but does love River. But River- River with children... River taking care of others- at the cost of her self.

River being the one baby/toddler Anthony wants to be held by most. To her parents' joy and exasperation. Cause they will be holding and spoiling him but the minute he sees her- he's straining out wanting to be held by big sister. At first, this used to terrify River- afraid of accidently hurting or dropping him but getting used and being comforted by holding him later on. Also being a bit smug the way firstborn are when little siblings prefers them over Mom and Dad.

And then Anthony grows up- still loving his sister most; other than his parents of course- and his child does the same thing he did- strain out of his grasp because she wants her auntie Melody to hold her. Amy thinks it's payback and teases Anthony about it often. Rory taked Amy's side to Anthony constration and River is just delighted over holding her niece.

When Amy and Rory died- River stayed in the past as long as she could. Helping her brother grief. Making sure he takes care of himself and only letting herself fall apart in silence.

When Anthony died- she was there alongside her niece. They heard his last words. River comforting and hugging her niece and only grieving in the safety of her Mom's console.

Neither Anthony or his daughter or Amy and Rory learned of her fate BTW. Not while they were alive but in their death- the doctor visited their graves- after Deliriuim- to let them know and apologize for not saving her life.

Abused children looking at River and gravitating towards her in planets she saves. Because they know she knows what's it's like- the way children intuitively knows when someone is safe or not and they know she will protect them no matter what. And River does- she protects them, gives them safe homes, bring them back home if they want and if they ask for it, exact revenge against their abusers.

Her losing her cool if a child is a victim and letting her darker side out- same way the doctor does.

Post- library, when she meets 14 and the Noble-Mott-Temple family- she takes Rose under her wing. Calling her niece- going out with her in little auntie- niece dates. Teaching her a bit on how to drive the TARDIS- and taking her out on the TARDIS too. Both of them and Donna teaming up against 14. She had to be held back a couple of times from taking care of transphobic assholes. She still takes care of them of course- with Rose's premission and Donna's help but it's in subtle ways that's can't be traced back to them. The family knows of course. But River flashes an innocent- unbelievable- smile: Donna just smirks and everybody decids it's better not to ask. Sylvia is just disappointed she didn't get to join though. 😒

14 sometimes regrets the day these two met- they're a force of nature individually and unstoppable together. He's just happy he's not on their bad side. Shaun is just delighted his wife and daughter are happy- and happy his brother in law got his wife back.

She does the same thing with Ruby BTW- taking her under her wing- I mean to 15's eternal delight. He was less delighted when Ruby flirted with his wife when these two first met. But tbh, Ruby didn't know River was the doctor's wife at first.

But, that side- in my headcanon- also extends to the companions. Her checking in at first for the doctor and then growing to genuinely like them. Helping them here or there- from the background ofc. Maybe in some cases she develops friendships with them- a la Liv and Helen. I headcanon she and Martha are close friends too- first developed by River dropping in UNIT- fixing things and/or causing chaos. And then River would drop by and take Martha on adventurs here and there- mostly on Earth- foiling bad aliens. Martha was devastated when she learned of River's death.

I just... I just genuinely adore the thought of River being a caretaker and having people love and care for her in return but yet- her view of herself is still distorted and negative. At least until she heals enough to realize otherwise.

Awww how lovely! I am having a good day. However, my brain is a little dead at this point. River has a fiercely protective heart, constantly putting her life on the line to save people just like the doctor, that's part of the attraction. She pretends not to, but she genuinely cares about people, especially her family. Actions speak louder than words. I can definitely see her and Martha hitting it off. They'd be brilliant.

I now present to you the final group of next gen ocs belonging to House Silva. These are the children of Asta and Noelle Silva: Aimee, Naru, and Filomina.

Aimee Silva

Her name comes from the French word “aimé” meaning “beloved.” The pronunciation is twisted a little to be “eye-mee” to include the Japanese word for “love,” that being “ai/愛.” It's an ode to Asta's time in Hino.

Magic Attribute: N/A. Uses anti-magic.

Appearance: Aimee has pure silver hair just like her mother Noelle. She decides to grow it out because her mom's hair looks pretty long but she chooses not to style it up. She likes the freedom of loose hair. Her eyes are green just like her father's.

Personality: Aimee is a friendly, optimistic, and honest girl. Noelle and Asta have inspired her greatly. Aimee greets everyone with a smile and she also throws in a hug for people she really likes, such as Yami and Nero. Aimee is the type of person who can easily see the strengths of others and praise them for those abilities. She knows she’s at a disadvantage without magic but she believes she’ll find the strength to overcome challenges. Her parents did it and so can she. Aimee on the adventurous side too, so when she first visited Elysia and met Elfrieda, they immediately clicked. Aimee’s biggest flaw is that’s she’s ditsy, not knowing when honesty becomes bluntness and she can be overly casual with the wrong people.

She's close friends with Elfrieda and Jesse. Aimee and her cousin Eirlys are surprisingly close despite their very different personalities. Ann is someone Aimee looks up to for her strength and courage. She's friendly with Miku (@lyranova's oc) and is acquainted with Eleonora (@thoughtfullyrainynightmare's oc).

Aimee faces a lot of judgement from the more stuck up members of noble society. She’s the first person born into Clover royalty to lack any magic whatsoever. Noelle faced criticism for her poor control but at least she has magic. Nobles with an especially strong distaste for the lower classes blame Asta for creating a “defective” royal and think poorly of Aimee. Her older cousins were protective of her early on but eased up on her as Aimee showed that she didn’t need coddling.

When she was 9, Asta and Liebe gave Aimee a dagger infused with anti-magic so she could start learning to fight. Noelle was a little concerned by this but eventually went along with it. Noelle made Aimee promise a thousand times not to take the dagger in public however.

Aimee becomes a Magic Knight in the future, belonging to the Blue Rose Knights.

Naru Silva

Naru’s name is is an alternative reading for the character 愛 meaning “love.” Again, he was named in honor of Asta's time spent in Hino.

Birthday: February 19

Magic Attribute: Water.

Appearance: Naru's hair is a shade of grey between his mother's silver and his father's ash blond shades, it doesn't have the same metallic shine as Noelle or Aimee's hair. In his youth, his hair naturally spiked like Asta's but it flattened out as he grew up, to his disappointment. His eyes are a deep, ocean blue.

Personality: Naru has a natural talent with magic, which Noelle is quite relieved by. Naru is definitely closer to Noelle than Asta because of their shared magic. But Naru gets his wild energy from Asta and the father-son duo often go out camping or other adventures. He's also the curious kind of kid. He loves trying new things with his magic and is honestly bummed out by the fact that he doesn't have his grimoire yet because it means there's more he could do. Naru is also prone to asking a lot of questions. "Hey why do people wait until 15 to get their grimoires?" "Where did Lord Vangeance get his funny mask?" And he tends to just keep asking questions until he can't think of anything new to ask. Naru likes to play around too, usually re-enacting the stories he hears from books or his parents' youth. Can be prideful in his skill and reckless when trying new things. It keeps his rivalry with Ferro strong as Ferro challenges Naru and Naru wants to prove he's still getting stronger.

Naru's closest friends are Alfred and Jesse. He'd form a friendly rivalry with Kito (@lyranova's oc) and a less friendly rivalry with Ferro.

Despite using Water Magic, Naru sinks like a rock in water. He is a terrible swimmer and nothing except magic will change that. He's tried swimming lessons but he just can't do it.

Frequently trains with his cousin Aecor because they share an attribute.

Naru eventually joins the Black Bulls once he's old enough for the Knights.

Filomina Silva

Filomina’s name comes from Greek. It can either mean “friend of strength” or “beloved one.”

Age: 7

Birthday: July 13

Magic Attribute: Ice.

Appearance: Filomina has ash blond hair just like her father though it has the softer, silkier texture of her mother's hair. From a young age, she takes to wearing her hair in pigtails though she wears them higher than Noelle did in her youth. Her eyes are (supposed to be, darn you picrew) a pinkish-purple hue, leaning closer to her mother's eye color.

Personality: Filomina is as sweet and cheerful as a child can be, and she loved everyone in her family. She's excited to see what the world has to offer each day. She's highly energetic but surprisingly polite. She won't barge into a room but she will probably dent a door with her knocking. She doesn't say "please" and "thanks" but shouts those words from across a hallway. Hardly a mean bone in her body, save for the moments when she tugs on someone's clothes or hair to grab their attention. Her thought process is that people love her so it doesn't make sense for her to not love people in return. She's surprisingly empathetic towards others, she can often tell with a glance if a person is troubled and whether or not it'd be a good idea to approach them. Asta hasn't taught her ki reading and chalks it up to Filomina being naturally in tune with people. Very clingy to anyone willing to give her attention even for a moment (she is still very young after all).

Filomina is pretty much the favorite of everyone in House Silva. Her parents and siblings dote on her so much. Her aunts and uncles are unable to resist when she asks something from them. Her cousin Ferro proudly said he'd be her teacher since they have the same attribute. Even Skylar would tone down his chaos and Chalivas would stop being such a stick in the mud when spending time with Filomina.

Filomina is would be very close to Kya (@lyranova's oc). She's basically considers everyone she's met her friend too. She's fond of creative people like Cynthia and Dawn's kindness is also a big inspiration to her.

Filomina (and her siblings) has met Kahono and Kiato. The two of them actually inspired Filomina's dream to become an idol. Once a year, Filomina spends a whole week with Kahono in Raquey to have singing lessons and generally learn how to be an idol.

Filomina once turned down a marriage proposal from Alfred. She told him that it's against to law to marry your best friend's sibling and since Alfred doesn't know laws well, he bought it.

First Impressions:

E-Sumi-Yan:

I've heard of Brother E-Sumi-Yan, after all, I've lived in Gridania all my life. However, interacting with him just reminds me of my dad a bit. He just seems to ramble on about the finer points of conjury. It's whatever, though, it's good to have a refresher on the stuff in any case as I set out on my own.

Sylphie:

If you can heal just well enough and you are able to do what you set out to do then. I get it but to be so disrespectful of the people that want to make sure you can do the best out there is just plain rude. Maybe, this is just an age thing, after all she doesn't look like she any older than 15.

Estinien:

What's with this guy. I find him collapsed and barely conscious so I decided to heal him. After doing so he thanks me by kidnapping me and start trying to train me with a lance. I'm a conjurer for goodness sake.

Alberic:

This guy is nice, after all he did save me from my kidnapper. With the shenanigans with that Estinien fellow, it's good to know that all these Ishgardians aren't completely jerks. Anyways, he explained what was going on and why Estinien kidnapped me. In the end he did convince me to become another azure dragoon which I reluctantly agreed to do the training.

Jannequinard:

With the Dragonsong war is over I figured to go back to being a healer. However, I found it difficult to commune with nature nowadays. Even the most basic spells were difficult to cast and left me without too much energy after doing so. I figured there might be another way that I could return to my roots as a healer.

Luckily for me, some highborn Ishgardian man was looking to learn about Sharlayan Astrology. After hearing about it, I figured to give it a try and hope that it will allow me to be a healer.

Jannequinard has a good heart, though at times he can be a bit dense. However I am thankful that he is trying to bring in a new way to heal.

Leveva:

Leveva is such a cinnamon roll. She is a bit strict but with what she has to deal with Jannequinard, I can't blame her. In any case, I will protect this cinnamon roll.

Redolent Rose:

This guy is a jokester and I love him for it. It's hard to be yourself out in public. Did these change over time?

Some of them did. I think that Sylphie started to understand why the conjurer's guild was telling her that she needs to draw aether from nature. I can appreciate her growth as she learns how to do conjury in a safe manner.

While Estinien was a jerk when I first met him, he does have some soft spots and actually cares deeply for the people around him. Turns out he is a reliable ally at the end of the day.

15. How do you come up with titles for your fics/chapters?

Okay, so most of my one-shot fics I tend to go for a song lyric that fits and more often than not it's a Rilo Kiley lyric because they honestly have a song for every angsty emotion in the world 😂although I've also used lyrics by First Aid Kit, Allison Iraheta, John Rzeznik, and Taylor Swift (they just vibe right, y'know?). I always think of that post that's like "what are you writing about?" "ah, it's just silly fanfiction -" "no, I mean, what are you writing about?" Because yeah, my blorbos are kissing and being angsty and whatever, but also...

these are times that can't be weathered (and we have never been back there since) focusses on unfamiliar feelings of helplessness and grief

The world is still sleeping, while I keep on dreaming is about not letting other people control the rate you heal at

you say i choose sadness (that it never once has chosen me) is about making an effort to be more forgiving to yourself

roses are dry, violets are black is about letting yourself move on from the painful end of an unhealthy relationship

see it fall, child of all (lend a mending hand) is about the regret of realising that someone else's effort to protect you wound up hurting them even worse

just say when (and we'll say goodnight) is about wanting to help without knowing how and acknowledging that sometimes just choosing to care and to love and to stay can be enough

For multichapter fics my naming methods tend to vary because I always want something that fits the AU and puts out the vibe for the fic. I kind of like it to sound like it could be a book title 😂

mArinette is based on the plot of the movie easy A, and in the trailer for easy A the As in the actors' names are stylised as the red A Olive begins sewing onto her clothes. "Dear Diary..." is the first line of Dear Diary..., and often the first line of the chapters. I wanted my series On Se Sent Comme Par Magie to feel like a fantasy adventure novel series, so the names of each 'instalment' reflect that. And The Mystery Solvers of Derry just felt right. I mean, they're mystery solvers, and they live in Derry. The rest of the fic is a mystery, so the title felt like it needed to be straight to the point.

American Catholics are very different to Scottish Catholics and not in a good way. I read one (1) article on an American Catholic website as research and. you know how sometimes you feel like you need something wholesome to cancel out the horrible thing you just experienced? It was like the opposite of that. I felt like I had to go and do some sinning in order to rebalance the universe.

Ikaris x Male Reader

A/N: The full first part of my preview story from the other day. Pietro, Tony, Natasha live in this version. Steve never went to the past and the Marvel shows happened.

For 7000 years, Ikaris wondered about his purpose in the world. He understood that he was supposed to protect sentient life in order for them to evolve and save them from the Deviants, and when he came to earth; it was no different. It always felt like something was missing and he thought he found that missing piece in Sersi, but not even she and her love could fill his empty hole. After all the Deviants were destroyed (supposedly) Ajak told Ikaris the truth of their mission.

They were meant to preserve life on earth to prepare for the Emergence. For the birth of Tiamut the Communicator. After he learned the truth Ikaris distanced himself from Sersi, from the world and promised himself he wouldn't get attached to the people of this planet when he knew what was to come.

That promise was broken the moment he laid eyes on Y/N Maximoff, a young man who, along with his brother and sister, was experimented on with an Infinity Stone and gained incredible power. He intrigued Ikaris, and the Eternal wanted to get to know him better, so he followed him to a coffee shop one day, and the two hit it off instantly. This is their story.

“You okay, Iceberg?” Y/N asked his boyfriend. Ikaris had been staring out the window for a good 15 minutes. He didn't move a muscle, which was kind of creepy. Ikaris was brought out of his thoughts at the sound of Y/N’s voice. The young boy was playing that Smash Bros. game again, and he was that electric mouse creature.

Ikaris smiled. “Of course, dearie. Why do you ask?”

“Because you've been staring out the window for a good 15 minutes,” Y/N said as he paused his game. He rose and walked towards Ikaris as the older man made room for Y/N to straddle his hips. Ikaris’s big and warm hands traveled down Y/N’s body as he shivered at the contact. Ikaris chuckled. “Something wrong, Duckling?”

“You're not funny, Iceberg,” Y/N said. “Penny for your thoughts?”

“It's nothing.”

“You sure?”

“Yes, I was just… Deep in thought,” Ikaris said.

Y/N raised an eyebrow. “You thinking? I didn't know you could think,” Y/N teased him.

“Oh, someone’s got a smart mouth. Maybe I need to keep it busy,” Ikaris got up and the young Maximoff wrapped his legs around Ikaris and put his hands on his neck as he used his super speed to speed them to Ikaris’s bedroom. The Eternal gently set the young Avenger on the bed as he began to attack him with kisses. Y/N moaned against his boyfriend and weaved his hands through Ikaris’s soft dark locks. Ikaris lifted Y/N’s shirt and began to nip and suck all along Y/N’s chest, the young man moaning and squirming beneath Ikaris. The Eternal smirked. “Now, now, be good.”

“Iceberg, puh-puh-please?” Y/N begged.

“One day, my sweet boy, I promise,” Ikaris said. “I'm going to make your first time unforgettable.” Ikaris and Sersi had been each other’s first time, and it had been magical, but Ikaris wanted to make it even more special for Y/N. Especially, since the Emergence would soon be upon them. Ikaris didn't want to take Y/N’s virginity if it meant he would lose him in the process. He was having second thoughts about Arishem's plan. Ikaris kissed Y/N one last time before getting off him and heading back to the living room. Y/N looked down at the erection in his shorts. Damn you, Ikaris. “Hey, what am I supposed to do about this?” Y/N called out.

“You're a big boy. Take care of it yourself,” Ikaris called back with a chuckle.

“Fucker,” Y/N mumbled.

“What was that, Duckling?”

“Nothing.”

After Y/N took care of his… Problem. He and Ikaris order some pizza while Ikaris retold stories of his adventures with his, as Y/N liked to call them, brothers and sisters. No matter how many times Ikaris told Y/N these stories, he always had a little glint in his eyes as he listened. It was adorable. “So, when can I meet them? Your family?” Ikaris looked up from his food. “You want to meet the others?”

“Yeah, after all your stories. I'd really like to get to know them.”

“It's a bit complicated, Duckling. We're all kind of spread out at the moment,” Ikaris said. He really did want Y/N to meet the others, but not right now. He needs to find them first. “When can I meet your brother and sister?”

“You can meet Pietro whenever you want. He's living with Clint and his kids and Kate Bishop on a farm. Wanda, on the other hand, it's a bit more complex,” Y/N said. “After what happened at Westview, she's been trying to figure out her new powers by herself.”

“Perhaps you should go visit them. At least for a few days,” Ikaris suggested.

Y/N raised his eyebrows. “Why? Trying to get rid of me? Having an affair with another man, or maybe even a woman?”

“Of course, not my sweet boy,” Ikaris said.

“Good. Because if you did, I'd have to mangle that handsome face,” Y/N teased as Ikaris smiled. That's when Ikaris decided to tell Y/N the truth, well, half of the truth.

“Y/N?”

“Yes?”

Ikaris licked his lips nervously. “Y/N… What if you were given orders to do something and for many years you believe those orders should be followed no matter what, but then one day, you realize maybe you made a mistake and those orders shouldn't be followed.” Y/N was silent for a while and Ikaris feared he said too much. He never told Y/N about the Emergence, but now he would definitely be suspicious. “Well, Steve always said that a good soldier knows how to follow orders, but sometimes you just have to follow your heart, no matter who gave the orders. Why do you ask?”

“No important reason. Just curious. I saw it in a magazine earlier today,” Ikaris lied.

Y/N frowned. “You're not lying to me are you, Iceberg?”

“Of course not, Duckling.”

Y/N nodded his head. “Okay, if you say so.” Ikaris hated lying to Y/N, but it was necessary. To protect him. After dinner, the two sat down and watched movies together. Ikaris liked romance movies, and Y/N liked horror films. They watched one after another until Y/N got sleepy and fell asleep on Ikaris. He was snoring softly and Ikaris smiled. It's moments like this that he envied humans. So carefree and ignorant about the final days of their world. The Eternal carried Y/N to his bed and tucked him in, but he would not be laying with him because he had a mission. A new one. He was going to stop the Emergence and save this world, save Y/N, no matter the costs.

Ikaris wrote Y/N a note explaining everything and told Y/N he'd be back and not to follow him. He placed a gentle kiss on the young man's forehead, as he opened a window and flew off into the night sky, tears streaming down his face.

….

Y/N woke up the next morning alone in bed. That was weird. He always woke up with Ikaris by his side. Maybe he was in the kitchen making something to eat. Y/N yawned and stretched the sleepiness from his body as he got up and relieved himself, before washing his hands and brushing his teeth and hair as he headed to the kitchen, only to find it empty. Y/N frowned.

Maybe Ikaris went to get breakfast somewhere. He did it sometimes when Y/N was still asleep. So, Y/N made some coffee and put the TV on for some noise, and waited for Ikaris to return. He never did. Y/N grabbed his phone and checked for any missed calls or texts. He called Ikaris many times, but he never answered him back. Y/N checked everywhere for some indication of where he went, and that's when he found the note on the nightstand.

Y/N read the note, and it explained the Eternal’s true mission. How they were meant to preserve this world for the birth of a Celestial. All life would be destroyed in the Emergence. Ikaris apologized to Y/N for lying to him and how he was going to stop it and save this world. Y/N was shocked at first. His mouth opened. Then he began to cry. Ikaris lied to him and left without saying goodbye. Then he was angry. Completely pissed as he stripped himself of his pajamas and changed into some clothes as he packed his bag and stuffed his superhero costume inside. He was going to find Ikaris and murder him for what he did.

Y/N had no idea where Ikaris went, but he had an idea of who could help find him. He googled the name Sersi, and he found a pretty woman who worked at the Natural History Museum in London, England. Y/N never met Sersi, but he knew this was her. After debating on whether to run all the way to London or fly on a plane, Y/N chose to fly. Tony wouldn't mind the costs. This was an emergency, and he was heading to London on Avenger's official business, so it would be a crime if he didn't go and do some investigating. Y/N hopped on the first flight from New York to London. It was a six-hour flight and by the time Y/N landed; it was late in the afternoon.

Y/N used his super-speed and ran to all the Natural History Museum and searched for Sersi, but he was told she was out for the eventing for a birthday party for Dane. Y/N wandered around London hoping to find Sersi or even Ikaris, but no luck. It was dark when Y/N decided to find somewhere to stay for the night. That's when he heard a roar in the distance. Y/N frowned as he decided to investigate. He changed into his costume and headed in the direction of the roar.

Y/N surveyed the situation and saw two women. One of them was Sersi, and a man standing in the middle of an empty street. There was a giant hole in one of the stores and suddenly, there was a blast of golden light as a creature flew out of the damaged hole in the wall. The monster hit a light pole and fell in the middle of the street. A man walked through the crater in the wall and was revealed to be Ikaris.

“Ikaris!” One of the women cried excitedly.

Ikaris smiled. “Evening ladies,” he said, glancing at both women.

“Watch out!” Sersi cried. The monster tackled Ikaris and the two of them slammed into an oncoming double-decker bus as it tipped over and was about to smash Sersi. Y/N super sped over to her and placed his hands above his head and caught it. Sersi looked at him, shocked. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Y/N gently placed the bus down on the ground and checked for any passengers. The only person was a bus driver, but luckily he was hurt.

Ikaris noticed Y/N’s presence. “Y/N?”

The creature scaled across the side of the building and took a swipe at Ikaris, who floated out of the way and blasted the creature with his optical energy blasts. The creature was hit as part of its skin was burned off. It roared in anger as it set its sights on Y/N and charged towards him, as the youngest Maximoff sibling's eyes flashed light blue and a shield formed around him and the others as the monster tried to break through. Y/N grunted and focused as he lifted the creature up with telekinesis and threw it back as Ikaris blasted it into a nearby river.

Ikaris floated back down as the shorter of the two women threw her arms around him in excitement. “Ikaris. It’s good to see you.”

Ikaris smiled gently. “It’s good to see you, too, Sprite.” Ikaris turned to Sersi and the other man. He held out his hand. “I’m Dane.”

“Hello, Dane.”

“Well, I guess you must be the pilot.”

Ikaris turned to see Y/N standing there as he walked towards him. “Y/N? Y/N what are you doing–”

Whatever Ikaris was going to say was cut off as Y/N punched him in the face. Ikaris was taken aback and stumbled a bit as he looked at Y/N, who had a fire in his eyes.

“Well, I suppose I deserved that,” Ikaris said with a chuckle. “Just like I taught you.”

“Actually, Steve taught me that one,” Y/N huffed.

“Y/N I know you’re mad–”

“–Mad, Iceberg? Oh, no, no,no. I’m beyond mad. I’m a burning inferno,” Y/N said.

“Y/N I’m sorry–”

“–Sorry for what? For sneaking off in the middle of the night? Or leaving me a Dear John Letter?”

“I wasn’t breaking up with you. I just wanted you to understand that I was leaving for a while,” Ikaris said.

“Yeah, well, you should have just told me,” Y/N said.

“I'm sorry, Duckling. It was for the best.”

Y/N opened his mouth to protest, but Sersi interrupted. “I'm sorry to interrupt, but Ikaris, who is this?” She looked at Y/N curiously.

“You're joking, right, Sersi?” Sprite asked her. “That's Y/N Maximoff. One of the Avengers.”

Sersi looked at Y/N in shock. “Oh, I'm sorry. Please forgive my rudeness.”

“It's alright,” Y/N said. “ The people call me Prometheus.”

“Nice to meet you, Y/N. I'm Dane.”

“Hello, Dane.”

“What brings you here?” Sprite asked.

Y/N pointed to Ikaris. “I was looking for him.”

“Why?”

Ikaris walked next to Y/N and placed a hand on Y/N. “Y/N’s my boyfriend.”

“Boyfriend?” Sersi asked.

“You're dating an Avenger?” Sprite said.

“That's right.”

The Antarctic Empire seemed to pop out of nowhere, and just as fast as it appear, it became among the most prosperous and wealthiest (and most dangerous) kingdoms in the world. The world was in shock figuring out how an adventurer, who first came into view from a pathetic death, became the ruler of such a prosperous empire. Although once meeting the royal family, one begins to understand. Emperor Philza, also known as the Angel of Death, a man later became known for his wisdom and bravery. He will always raising to the occasion, of course, if he believe in it, and destroy anything that stands in his path. The empress is Death herself, always kind to everyone who doesn’t run from her and her touch and to be feared if you ever go against her. They formed a family that almost seems too perfect for running the place the call home. The oldest son is almost perfect soldier, seemingly never loosing a battle and always knowing how to plan to their next expansion of their territory. The crown prince has a way with words that makes everyone listen, always trying to get the upper hand and his pride always seeking what’s the most optimal outcome during a meeting. The youngest of the emperor and empress children is a loud young man that is never afraid to speak his mind, fight for any occasion to protect the empire and his family, trying to improve any injustice that may ever plague the kingdom. The crown prince’s son is focused on making the empire structurally stable, always focusing on the infrastructure and improving the technology.

Secondary characters

Ranboo: 

He was taken in by Phil when he was 15, but he really seems to be adopted by Techno than by him.

Not an official prince, but under the protection of the royal family.

Still half enderman and half something else.

He is the same age as Tommy, and they get along well-enough.

Tubbo: 

He is not adopted by the royal family, but might as well be.

Even though he is a citizen of Manberg, he spends most of his time in the empire, specially hanging out with Tommy, Ranboo, and Purpled.

Son of Captain Sparklez, his uncle is Schlatt and Puffy, and Dream is his cousin.

Half goat and half sheep (that’s the couple horn).

Purpled:

An ex-child soldier, rescued and taken in by Ponk and Punz (his biological-older brother).

He was REALLY good at his job, and still continues the mercenary work, but he actually makes money out of it.

He is an alien hybrid, which is among the rarest hybrids, and has very little drawbacks.

He hangs out in the castle because he can and nobody can stop him.

Sam: 

A prince with so many brothers that is near impossible for him to become a king, so he moved to the empire and helps in the building of it with the help of Foolish.

A raccoon-creeper hybrid, and connected to Tommy very fast because of it.

He is in a relationship with Ponk, and lives with him, Purpled and Punz.

He can explode, and tries his best to control his angel... and he is scared of cats, which works out because Ponk is allergic to them.

Schlatt

Phil’s old adventure buddy (look, I love their Hexxit series, fight me)

President of Manberg, although not for long because he dies near the end of his first term. After that he haunts, Quackity, Tubbo and Phil, although mostly Quackity. 

He has the Revive Book, because his family is cursed and all males died young and he is looking for a way to stop it or extended the dying.

He is Sparklez’s and Puffy’s cousin, although he did help raise Tubbo since they travel a lot.

5up: 

Fundy’s childhood friend (and later boyfriend)

He is a nature spirit, specifically a radish. All nature spirits are connected to a plant, and this helps him to stay connect to this realm because again, he is a spirit. 

He tries to spend as much time in the empire with Fundy but the weather is hard on him, and staying in another realm can be hard.

Minor characters

Sally: A fish-hybrid that comes to the empire when the water is not frozen solid, and despite that, she is married to Wilbur and gave birth to Fundy, making her the princess of the empire.

Squid kid: A squid-hybrids that comes to the empire year-round and helps Techno keep his crops when he knows he is going away for a battle for an extended period of time. Techno only does this because he hates machines, and prefers manual labor. 

Ponk: A dreamon-hybrid (hides it) mercenary and doctor who keeps an eye in Punz and specially Purpled. Usually the middle man between any hits someone may request.

Punz: A alien-hybrid (recessive) mercenary and ex-child soldier. While he lives under Ponk and Sam’s roof, he doesn’t really listen to them as he is only there because he cares about Purpled... also he doesn’t listen to anyone unless you pay him.

Extra info: 

Tubbo, Dream, Puffy, Sparklez and Schlatt are all biologically connected. The “C” on Tubbo and Schlatt’s name stand for Captain, which is the family name. Don’t ask why is in the beginning of their names, they don’t know either. Their curse consist in that all males in the family will die young, usually tragically (Sparklez drowns in one of his travels and Schlatt dies alone from a heart attack). While the females will start to forget things if they are not consistent, for example, they will remember how to garden if they are a farmer, but they will forget they have a child if they live alone for an extended period of time.

Dream is the rules of the Greater SMP, although he hates the idea of being the face of the country since he hates people being up in his personal business, doesn’t like attention, he has personal beef with Techno and Tommy and that is not good for public relations when you hate two of the princes of one of the most powerful empires in the world; and his uncle runs a country that is not connected to his at all (aside from being to war in the past, but Schlatt wasn’t president then). So he still rules, but put Eret as a figure head as he has good personal relations with Wilbur and they actually like the attention.

There’s a small secret revolution against Wilbur going on the Antarctic Empire run by Blop and Oreli and many other of the people Wilbur used as experiment and torture during his “rebellious” phase. They mostly just want to torture and no-canonically kill him.

Hannah and George are also nature spirits. George is a mushroom spirit and Hannah is a rose one. George lives in Kinoko Kingdom with Karl (not a hybrid, but just a straight up an interdimensional being) and Sapnap, a fire-demon hybrid, and they are visited by Dream, who’s a sheep-dreamon hybrid, Quackity (a duck hybrid) and BBH (straight up demon and Sapnap’s dad). Hannah, on the other hand, lives on the Empire in a green rose, and works as a mercenary with Purpled. They sometimes work together, but most of the time they just train together.

Quackity is the vice-president during Schlatt presidency, and takes the mantle of presidency when he dies. He wants to run, but he after entering in a relationship with Karl and Sapnap he stops and moves to Kinoko.

Summer 2021′s Movies - My Top Ten Favourite Films (Part 1)

The Runners-Up:

20.  LUCA – I’ll admit I really wasn’t sold on Disney/Pixar’s coming-of-age fantasy comedy, which revolves around a pair of young sea monsters living off the coast of the 1950s Italian Riviera, who discover they can assume human form when they dry out and go on land on a quest of discovery.  Thankfully the strong reviews convinced me to give it a chance – this is a frothy and irreverent romp through an exotically nostalgic world filled with Vespas, pasta-eating contests and found families that’s fun for kids of all ages.

19.  FAST & FURIOUS 9 – the high concept action franchise may be bursting under the ever-increasing weight of its own ludicrousness, but it’s still TONS of fun, packed with stunning over-the-top action, colourful globe-trotting and a loveable bunch of misfits we’ve grown incredibly fond of over the past TWENTY YEARS.  This time Dom (the irrepressible Vin Diesel) and the team are up against ruthless hi-tech mercenary Jakob (John Cena), a lethal jack-of-all-trades with a dark connection to the Toretto name.

18.  REMINISCENCE – Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy’s attempt to make it on the big screen looks set to go down as one of the biggest cinematic flops of 2021, which is a shame because the feature-debuting writer-director has crafted a genuinely fascinating speculative sci-fi noir detective thriller.  Set in a darkly dystopian future in which Global Warming has caused the sea levels to rise and society to start breaking down, it tells the story of Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman), a former soldier who ekes out a living using revolutionary tech to help the idle rich relive their fondest memories, until a life-changing mystery from his own past resurfaces, threatening to tear his whole world apart.  Frustratingly, it looks like most audiences are going to bypass this, which is a criminal loss.

17.  FREE GUY – after a seven year hiatus, Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy returns to the big screen in fine form with this deliriously inventive fantastical comedy adventure about Guy (a typically on-fire Ryan Reynolds), an NPC in an anarchic, Grand Theft Auto style MMORPG called Free City who discovers his own sentience after falling in love with Millie (Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer), a player with a hidden agenda that puts them both at odds with the game’s nefarious creator, Antwan (a thoroughly hilarious Taika Waititi).

16.  EVANGELION 3.0 + 1.01: THRICE UPON A TIME – visionary anime creator Hideaki Anno brings his long-running sci-fi saga to a close with this fourth instalment to his wildly ambitious cinematic “Rebuild” of cult TV series Neon Genesis Evangelion. It’s as frothy, melodramatic and bonkers as ever, packed full of weighty themes and crazy ideas, while the animation maintains this series’ ridiculously high levels of quality and the action is as explosive as ever, and Hideaki brings the whole mad mess to a climax that’s as rich, powerful and thoroughly befuddling as the saga deserves.

15.  THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD – Sicario writer Taylor Sheridan returns to the director’s chair (after impressive debut Wind River) with this intense and enthralling suspense thriller adapted by bestselling author Michael Koryta (along with Sheridan and Blood Diamond’s Charles Leavitt) from his own acclaimed novel. Angelina Jolie is (ahem) fiery but fallible as haunted smokejumper Hanna Faber, whose PTSD drives her to protect a desperate boy (Finn Little) who’s being hunted through the wilds of Montana by a pair of relentless assassins (Aidan Gillen and Nicholas Hoult).

14.  CRUELLA – far from the clunky cash-in retcon many were predicting, Disney’s ambitious black comedy crime caper does a thoroughly admirable job in delivering this fascinating and deeply compelling reimagining of the story of rogue fashion designer Cruella de Vil (one of the best performances I’ve ever seen Emma Stone deliver, hands down), the dastardly villainess of 101 Dalmatians. She’s certainly far more complex here, no longer a raging monster, but far from a whitewashed PC apologist, either, much more of a morally grey antihero with a very wicked dark side – then again, with I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie at the helm it’s not really a surprise.  Richly designed and dripping in spectacularly adventurous period detail, this is an divine romp from start to finish.

13.  THE GREEN KNIGHT – the latest feature from writer director David Lowery (Ain’t Them Bodies Saits, Pete’s Dragon, The Old Man & the Gun) is as offbeat and unusual as you’d expect from a visionary filmmaker with such a wildly varied CV.  Adapting the fantastical chivalric romance Sir Gawain & the Green Knight, he’s crafted what’s surely destined to be remembered as the year’s STRANGEST film, but it’s a work of aching beauty and introspective imagination that sears itself into the memory and rewards the viewer’s patience despite its leisurely pace.  Dev Patel is unbearably sexy and wonderfully complex as Gawain, while Sean Harris delivers show-stopping support with stately charisma and world-weary integrity as King Arthur.  This film is sure to divide opinions as well as audiences, but I think it’s a bona fide masterpiece that must be seen to be believed.

12.  CANDYMAN – after watching this wildly imaginative and frequently gut-wrenching soft-reboot/sequel to Bernard Rose’s acclaimed adaptation of Clive Barker’s short story The Forbidden, I feel supremely confident about emerging writer-director Nia DaCosta’s coming MCU breakout with The Marvels.  Wisely papering over the clunky previous sequels, this streamlined trailblazing deep dive into the pure horror of the legend of the righteously mad spectral killer haunting the Chicago housing ghetto of Cabrini-Green sees a daring modern artist (Aquaman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) find his latest project turning into a dangerously self-destructive obsession. Writer-producer Jordan Peele’s fingerprints are all over this, but DaCosta clearly shows signs that she’s going to be a hell of a talent to watch in the future.

11.  THE WITCHER: NIGHTMARE OF THE WOLF – I wouldn’t normally shout about an animated spinoff to a TV series like this, but I was SO INSANELY IMPRESSED with this brilliant prequel to Netflix’ popular fantasy show (which clearly intends to lay some origin story groundwork for the impending second season) that I just can’t help myself. Recounting the backstory of Geralt of Rivia’s own Witcher mentor Vesemir, this beautifully expands on the already compelling universe the series has created, as well as delivering some breath-taking thrills and chills through some of the most exquisite cell animation I’ve ever seen outside of the greats of anime.  A must-see for Witcher fans, then, but one I’d also highly recommend to anyone who likes their animation a bit more grown-up and edgy.

One day, he met Chloe and she started telling him her plans and thoughts about gaurdians and humans and about destroying and taking over the gaurdians, Gold, agreed. Gold started to despise gaurdians, despise humans, despise protection. He believe Shadow demons were victorious and were a better future for this world then gaurdians and humans. So one day, after an argument with Jesse, he abandoned them and left them for Chloe and started being Chloe's minion/butler.

It may be a little late, but here is this week’s talentswap! Consider this a Talentswap Thursday (Hey, the alliteration is still there!). Introducing Myth, the Former Ultimate Cosplayer!

BACKSTORY AND TALENT 

Because she was wracked with scoliosis as a kid, Myth only had anime and the manga her parents bought as modes of entertainment. Luckily, with many operations, Myth managed to get on her feet and out into the real world. But because of her past, Myth only has anime characters (particularly shoujo heroines) to model her behavior around. Myth eventually became famous around school for her skill in textile work, and eventually she started getting commissions from her classmates. But perhaps what she is best known for is her uncannily-accurate and self-made cosplay. If there is an anime convention going on somewhere, you can always count on Myth being there with a brand new cosplay. Myth is now currently making a living as a professional cosplayer and model, but she’s currently taking some time off to chaperone this year’s Ultimates and Jr. Ultimates.

RELATIONSHIPS

Wyre Anon, Former Ultimate Magician

When Myth first entered Hope’s Peak, the first person to catch her eye happened to be a charming magician in a tuxedo, the ideal mysterious and male shoujo lead. Even after figuring out that this seemingly charming guy just happens to be a loud and rough-and-tumble girl, Myth’s admiration and slight crush on Wyre didn’t fade in the slightest, and they are only the best of friends, even in their adult years. Myth loves to be Wyre’s adorable assistant in her magic shows, and Myth usually lets Wyre model her crossplays (in which Wyre looks damn stunning in them). If someone messes with Myth, Wyre hexes them for life.

Outfit: A black top hat with a ragged red rose on the top, black eyeshadow, a black coat over a white dress shirt with a popped collar, black dress pants and matching shoes and cape.

Anon Scar, Ultimate Astronaut

Despite only being a teenager, Scar managed to ace both the physical and academic exams that the prestigious astronomical institute hands out to her, and is on her way to become a full-fledged astronaut. The intelligence and caring/maternal nature of Scar are unconvincingly covered up by the self-created facade of being an evil alien overlord, being sent down by her superiors to conquer the entire galaxy, starting with Earth. Myth loves Scar’s dark aesthetic and lets Scar model her dark and elaborate dresses and suits. Scar secretly keeps the edgy cosplay Myth created, for they make her feel “powerful”.

Fusion Anon, Ultimate Detective

Originally working at his grandfather’s detective agency, Fusion was exposed to crime and investigation, ever since he was little. Originally handling simple cases, such as lost pet and infidelity cases, Fusion stumbled upon and eventually solved an elaborate homicide that eluded even his grandfather, earning him his status as the Ultimate Detective. With Fusion’s wild hair, enormous appetite, and cheerful, yet protective (and almost paternal) attitude, Myth thinks that Fusion wouldn’t be out of place in a shonen anime. Fusion happens to also be a massive anime nerd, which lead to the cosplayer and detective bonding easily.

Fusion Anon II, Ultimate Adventurer

Sightings of a mysterious girl with a flowing dress and a sunhat cropping up all over the world made international headlines, with many people making theories on the true identity of this mysterious girl, especially since she responds to all questions directed towards her with either memes or sarcastic remarks. That mysterious girl eventually became known as Fusion II, who was eventually given a place to stay at Hope’s Peak, and was given the title of the Ultimate Adventurer, for the sheer scope of her globetrotting. Much to the dismay of the globetrotter, Myth figured out about Fusion II’s nerdy side, and wouldn’t stop bringing it up.

Outfit: A white sun hat with a red ribbon, a red pashmina scarf, a white parka with light blue fluff on the inside, a flowing blue skirt and grey hiking boots, sunglasses from original design.

Just Anon, Ultimate Entomologist

Being regarded as a prodigy when it comes to studies of animals and nature, Janon specializes in and is a pioneer in the study of insects, having discovered several new and previously-undiscovered species of insects, thanks to his fool-proof method of insect capturing: sleeping in the middle of the forest and letting the bugs crawl all over him. Myth is rather afraid of insects and she regularly turns to the lazy, cynical and foul-mouthed insect expert if she encounters a creepy-crawly, much to the annoyance of the helmeted scientist, who just wants to go to sleep with his insect friends surrounding him.

Outfit: A helmet that resembles a rhinoceros beetle, a camo-colored hoodie and matching pants, dirt-stained boots, face mask from original design.

Sparkle Anon, Former Ultimate Anthropologist

As a devout lover of foreign cultures, Sparkle wrote books detailing both her experiences traveling and the philosophies and mysteries of the charming foreign places that she visits. Sparkle also happens to be a devout lover of anime, particularly magical girl anime, and Myth’s cosplay of the leading lady of Sparkle‘s personal favorite magical girl anime. When Sparkle heard that the famous cosplayer would be chaperoning the Kibo-Con trip alongside her, Sparkle fangirled, to put it lightly. Myth and Sparkle love to roleplay as the two leads of Sparkle’s favorite magical girl anime and pretend their fighting the monster of the week.

Egg Anon, Former Ultimate Inventor, and Wet Sock Anon, Former Ultimate Pianist/Assassin

Despite the seemingly innocuous talents of the twins, Egg and Wet Sock are quite the devious duo, to put it extremely lightly. Wet Sock uses the alluring piano music that they play to shank people while they are in a trance and Egg invents the various weapons that are used in their twin’s assassinations. And that is ignoring the cursed comments that the two both sprout on a daily basis, that basically alienates them from practically all of their peers. While the cursed comments shatter the image of the “androgynous gentlemen” Myth thought they have, Myth simply adores the steampunk/mustache-twirling aesthetic that they both have.   Egg’s Outfit: Black and brown goggles, a short-sleeved white shirt, black suspenders, short brown pants with a black tool belt, black and brown rocket boots.

Curious Anon, Jr. Ultimate Tennis Pro

As a student of one of the most prestigious schools in all of the country, Curious truly has it all: being cool-headed, helpful, rich, athletic, and just so darn adorable. Curious has a massive fanclub at their private school for precisely all of those things. Curious is famous all around the country, for both their affluential family and his unparalleled skill in tennis, despite both their age and their height. In her anime-inspired journey, Myth managed to find both the kind athlete and the oujo trope all in one. Curious is all too eager to help Myth model both her male and female cosplays, and Myth agrees with Curious’s fanclub on their looks.

Outfit: Hair tied back into a small ponytail with a green and yellow striped headband, a white tanktop, a green cardigan tied over their shoulders, green and red shorts, knee-high white socks, green and white tennis shoes.

Anon Nerd, Former Ultimate Child Caregiver

Having been born and raised in an orphanage, Nerd was accustomed to taking care of children, being prepared for just about any scenario that a child could find themselves in. But despite his prowess at taking care of children, Nerd’s personality isn’t exactly child-friendly, for he is foul-mouthed, foul-tempered, and despite caring for children 24-7, claims to hate children. Upon noticing the contrast between Nerd’s temperament and talent, Myth figured out that Nerd was the token tsundere love interest within seconds of meeting him. It helps that even the kids at Nerd‘s orphanage have taken quite the liking to having Myth as a mom.

Outfit: Tan cargo pants with child care supplies in each pocket, black, red, and white sneakers, dress shirt and tie from original design.

Eldritch Anon, Ultimate Aikido Master

Having been both born and raised at an isolated temple, with only his master to keep him company, Eldritch’s master taught Eldritch to never let his guard down against anybody, for they can and will take advantage of his small and weak build. This life-long message, along with Eldritch’s constant aikido training, resulted in a short but strong boy, who beats anything he sees as a threat into a bloody and bruised pulp, and to Eldritch, anything and anyone could be a threat, so he punches everybody just to be safe. Not even the adorable and innocent is safe from Eldritch’s paranoia-fueled pummeling, much to the wrath of Wyre.

Outfit: Hair in a long ponytail with a white Nippon Ichi headband, a black gakuran top over a white tank top, black pants, white socks, brown geta sandals that boost his height.

Dream Anon, Ultimate Artist

Because Dream was extremely creative but hyperactive and impulsive as a kid, Dream’s parents gave her a large canvas that she could draw on, and within 15 minutes, Dream made an indisputable masterpiece, much to the shock and amazement of her mom and dad. Dream eventually signed up for several art programs and became a master in practically all art forms, with sculpting and coloring being her two favorite mediums. Because of their similar talents and attitudes, Dream was basically the shonen answer to Myth’s shoujo persona, being hyper and boyish, in contrast to the bouncy and girly vibes Myth gave off.

Outfit: A black beret on her head, a pink and white striped sweater, blue paint-covered overalls, a tool belt with art supplies, pink slippers.

Iris Anon, Jr. Ultimate Maid

Despite her less-than-stellar past being raised on the streets, she was eventually found, cleaned up, and was adopted into an influential family as their maid. Iris delivers all service with a smile, whether that’d be cooking, cleaning, or simply entertaining guests and business partners of the influential family, making even the most stoic and ice-cold business magnates leave the estate with a giddy and amused smile on their face. Myth loved a girl who can pull off a classic French maid, and definitely tried sticking an eyepatch or a dragon tail and horns on Iris, when she wasn’t looking, but Iris was all too happy to model for her.

Outfit: A standard black and white French maid dress and black stockings with red Mary Janes being the only splash of color.

PURPL-3 (aka. Purple), Ultimate Robot

Having been created by only the greatest masterminds of robotic engineering, Purple was created to be a literate robot who could read and recite books for blind kids. Because of her very purpose, Purple has a massively large vocabulary and uses very old-fashioned and archaic terms in her daily speech. When Myth heard that she’d be chaperoning an actual robot, Myth thought she was having some sort of fever dream, but lo and behold, Purple arrived in all of her robotic and extremely timid glory. Myth internally thought that the world is becoming more and more like science fiction everyday, upon being aware of Purple‘s very existence. 

Outfit: A black beret with a satellite antenna on top, pale metallic skin, purple helmet-like hair, and black armor-like plating.

This series centers around Myth, dazzling everyone with her skills as a cosplayer, and perhaps finding love with someone.

PERSONALITY

Basically, after recovering from her scoliosis, Cosplayer!Myth decided to reinvent her previous shut-in personality, to be more appealing to others (which succeeded by the way). She chose to model her new personality after shoujo heroines. Despite being (seemingly) ditzy and a massive klutz, she compensates for that by being very kind-hearted and being like an emotional rock for her classmates and conmates. She’s very hardworking on her commissions, often sacrificing sleep to work on her costumes (she hides the eyebags with makeup). Just like with regular Myth, Cosplayer!Myth thinks a lot like a romance novel, often trying to woo her prospective love interest with shoujo tropes.

APPEARANCE

Cosplayer!Myth has her naturally brown hair dyed purple and tied into two massive pigtails with two red bows with stars in the center. She wears contact lenses, and her outfit is a simple seira fuku with a white dress shirt, a light blue ribbon, a darker blue skirt, tall white socks, and black Mary Janes.

ooc: Alt. Verses/AUs!

Fire Emblem Three Houses Ai: Ai Malificia is a Golden Deer student. A little shy but friendly and kind to all, Ai mainly focuses on magic, studying Reason and Faith. She can be seen in the library or the courtyard but especially the greenhouse with all the flowers. Ai loves flowers, especially pink roses. She also has a twin sister who has run away from home that she hasn’t heard from in a long time. The two were dotted on by their overprotective parents as both had Crests.

They feared what could happen to the two and though Ai didn’t mind, her sister had enough and decided to run away. Ai was sad for days until she heard about the Monastery. It took some convincing for her parents to let her attend as a student but finally they let her go. Now on her own, Ai strives to do her best and learn to be a healer in order to help others.

Goddess Ai: Ai is kind-hearted, gentle, soft-spoken, nature goddess who loves flowers as well as relaxing activities like painting or reading with tea. She is quite naive about the world though, only knowing little from books and hasn’t been outside much due to worrying that there is danger out there. Ai is sweet and could possibly never harm anyone no matter the danger she may end up in.

Fire Emblem Three Houses Diana:

Diana’s mother is a noble knight of Faerghus, retired now after having a child, her father a Monk who used to be an adventurer. Diana would hear stories from both about serving the kingdom and seeing the world. Though adventuring around the world seemed fun, she decided to strive towards a path of being like her mother. At first she trained under her when young, then when old enough was accepted into the Academy under the Blue Lions house.

Knowing Dimitri is the heir to the throne, Diana tends to sway to training her hardest to impress him since she is aiming to be a knight of his someday once she graduates. Her hardworking and studious nature has some students frowning upon her, thinking her an overachiever, while others admire her.

Tsareena Gijinka Iyumi (A Pokemon Gijinka version of Iyumi where she is a Tsareena. Prissy and can seem stuck up but is actually willing to help others. If you’re charming and caring, her personality flips and she becomes a lot more friendly and adoring.)

Genshin Impact Iyumi: Iyumi is a Electro Fatui mage on the prowl for someone cute she can call hers. To most she acts vicious and snobby, ready to electrocute them should they get on her nerves. But should she find the someone she wants, she becomes more adoring and flirty, chasing after them until she can have them. Which can turn into an aggressive chase should the other not want her.

Iyumi is a talented Fatui mage from Snezhnaya, obeying the Tsaritsa though sometimes goes off on her own in search of someone to play with and be her lover should they catch her interest. However her aggressive behavior and the fact that she is a Fatui has scared multiple people off, making her a bit hot tempered and grumpy towards others.

One Piece Xia: Xia started off on an island of rich folk and snobs. She was given  everything she could have asked for except one thing. Freedom. Her parents were terrified of the outside world, even of some of their own neighbors thinking they would try something drastic to get their fortune. She was kept inside for the most part, couldn’t make friends, could barely even set foot outside. It drove her crazy. She could take  care of herself! Nothing would harm her. She tried every way she could  to break free of the cage she was in. And then, she finally saw her  chance when a pirate crew came to her shores.

The crew fell for her charms and looks and made her captain, blinded by their lust for her. Though she had never been a pirate or captain, she led them on one mission, to simply go place to place and have the fun she could never have when she was held like a  captive bird back home. Knowing how easily her small crew succumbed to  her wishes made her decide to branch out and use it more against others. Obtained the Inu Inu no Mii: Fox Model fruit on her travels.

One Piece Kyana: Kyatana or Kyana as she prefers to be called lived in a humble town. Days were peaceful, all thanks to the Marines. Or so she was told by her parents. She listened to stories of famous Marines and saw them as heroes, desiring strongly to be one. She read as many books about them as she could, trained herself to at least wield a sword, and anxiously waited for herself to be old enough to join. Along the way to getting recruited however, she had some hiccups. As a child, she found a strange fruit that bullies were hiding and she decided to take it for herself, thinking they didn’t deserve it. She ended up being chased and in the middle of it all, swallowed the fruit as fast as possible. At first nothing happened. Then a burst of flame came from her. Her parents weren’t the type to give up though and made things work out, even if they weren’t sure what to think about their daughter’s new abilities. But they knew everything had been an accident. They encouraged her to train her new abilities and keep aiming to join the Marines. That was nine years ago and now much older, Kyana was ready to be recruited, feeling like she had control over her flames. Has the fire fruit.

Demon Iyumi: A demon AU for Iyumi where she is a demon princess wanting to find her king and become a queen! Though her stuck up, snobbish attitude tends to scare away others. However, if she has interest in you, her personality switches and she’ll be nice and adoring towards you, possibly even flirty. Though watch out, when she sets her eyes on someone she wants, she’ll do anything to get them. Also has a Disgaea verse where she is a wannabe Overlord!

Goddess of Darkness Iyumi and Goddess of Light Miyuki: Twin goddesses with not only polar powers but polar personalities. Iyumi is a snob and a bit of a brat, seeing herself as above all others (especially mortals) though secretly wants to find someone to love (and dominate over) and has a secret soft side as well. Miyuki is sweet and kind and has a very sympathetic heart, willing to help any mortals she comes across that are in trouble. Though she is also quite gullible and naive. The two bicker at times but try to work with each other.

Angel Miyuki: Miyuki or Miyu is a young angel of heaven. She watches over humans with great curiosity but also a sense of duty to protect them. She is quite interested in the mortal world and wishes to visit it one day. Though she is no warrior, she wishes to use her healing abilities to help anyone in need. Miyu cares a lot for all living things and sympathizes easily with others’ struggles, even demons and fallen angels. The innocent angel only wishes to help whoever in need in whatever way she can. Fairy Miyuki/Miyu: Miyu is a friendly fairy that lives in the forest. Since people who come there sometimes get lost, if she finds anyone with such a case, she tries to help them in any way she can to find their way out and be happy. She feels sorry for them and also as someone who was born in the forest, finds it her duty to help those who don’t know the area well. Miyu is however naive and desires to help everyone even if they might have hidden intentions, and is rather innocent in nature. She could never hurt anyone even if they were to try and hurt her.

Fate Series Emilia: Emilia is from a family that has some mages, but none of them have participated in the Holy Grail Wars. When she was born, they decided she would be the first to participate once she was sixteen. It sent her family into a feud, some saying that she was much too young to join the Holy Wars, others saying she would be old enough to handle it.

Her family is counting on her to summon a strong Servant like Saber and carry their wish on her shoulders, a wish to make their family famous with a name that will go down in history. But Emilia decided on another wish. Realizing how deadly the Holy War was, she decided on the wish to never have it happen again so no one else would be forced to participate like herself.

Pokemon Sword/Shield Diana: Diana is a trainer from the Galar region, aiming to become champion and quite strong already. Because of her knight themed team, she’s been called Lady Paladin by random trainers. Her team consists of Aegislash, Sirfetch’d, Escavalier, Bisharp, Gallade, and Ninetails.

She is friendly but serious in battle and can seem stuck up. But she loves her Pokemon and is loyal to them and her friends, willing to throw herself in a fight to protect someone.

Final Fantasy 15 Diana: Diana grew up wanting to become a knight like her mother, her father a black mage she met on her travels. She was granted her wish when she showed great prowess in sword fighting and magic and was determined to do anything to protect her country. When trouble was heard brewing from the kingdom of Insomnia, Diana decided to start her journey as a knight early despite not being officially recognized as one and is traveling with her family friend turned her guardian, a moogle named Vico. Now she helps whoever is suffering under the empire and hopes to meet the prince one day to help him as well.

Club Singer/Information Broker Xia: Set in a time of gangsters like Al Capone, Xia is a infamous club singer, beautiful and willing to sell information she gathers from the patrons there for good amounts of money. She may be willing to pull other favors as well if there is something interesting for her to gain.

Villain Kyana: Kyana is a villain, her parents both villains but are rather comical about it. She is as well, coming up with catch phrases, monologues, and nicknames for the heroes who go against her. She never murders or kidnaps anyone, rather steals jewels or other cliche villain things.
