Hii, I‘d love to request an younger Severus Story, where he gets set up on a blind date by Lucius and Narcissa to get his mind off of Lily
The date turns out to be one of Narcissas friends who he sits besides in one of his classes, who he always has found very interesting and pretty
Title: Blind Date

Severus Snape was not one to believe in the whimsicalities of fate. But then, there were days when he couldn't help but wonder if life had a funny way of playing with him. He had always considered himself a man of logic, someone who would not be swayed by frivolous emotions. And yet, there he was, daydreaming about Lily Evans in the middle of a rather important Potions lesson, staring out the window instead of focusing on the bubbling cauldron in front of him.
Lily, with her bright red hair and those emerald eyes that sparkled with warmth and kindness, had been his obsession since they first met at the age of nine. He was certain she'd never look at him the way he looked at her—how could she? He was just Severus Snape, the shy, awkward, slightly odd boy with a dark reputation, while she was the shining star, surrounded by friends who adored her.
But there was someone else in his Potions class who always caught his eye, though he tried to ignore it. Y/N. She wasn’t like Lily—no, Y/N had a quiet elegance about her, with a mysterious air that Severus found fascinating. Her long hair, dark as a raven’s wing, framed her face perfectly, and she always seemed lost in thought, as if she were pondering something far more important than whatever they were learning. She was pretty, yes, but she was also clever, independent, and a touch distant—qualities that Severus admired but also didn’t know how to approach.
He had never spoken to her, never had the courage to cross that boundary. Instead, he observed her from the corner of his eye, day after day. She was a Slytherin, though not in the same social circle as him but still a close friend to Narcissa Black. She was more quiet, more reserved, more… unlike the rest of the Slytherins who crowded the common room, loudly boasting about their latest exploits or schemes.
But then there was Lily, always at the forefront of his mind. Always. And that was the problem. Severus could never seem to break free of his obsession with her, and no matter how much he tried, it felt as though his heart would always belong to Lily Evans.
At least, until one afternoon, when the weight of his unrequited love for Lily was finally too much for some of his friends to bear.
"Severus," Lucius Malfoy said, his voice smooth as ever, leaning against the doorframe of their shared Potions classroom, "you've got to stop this nonsense with Evans."
Severus, who had been staring at the delicate glass vials lined up on the desk before him, stiffened at the sound of his name. Lucius always seemed to know when he was lost in his thoughts. Narcissa, standing beside him, was looking at Severus with an almost exasperated expression.
"She's never going to notice you, Severus," Narcissa added, her voice cool but tinged with concern. "We need to do something about it. You're wasting away."
Severus opened his mouth to protest, but Lucius cut him off.
"Don't bother," Lucius said with a sly grin. "We’ve already come up with a solution."
Before Severus could ask what that solution was, Narcissa flicked her blonde hair over her shoulder and smiled slyly.
"We’ve set you up on a date."
"A date?" Severus blinked, incredulous. "With who?"
Narcissa’s smile widened. "With one of my friends. I think you'll find her… quite interesting."
Severus didn’t have time to argue. Lucius was already pulling out a small piece of parchment with details scribbled hastily on it.
"It’s at Madam Pudifoot's Tea Shop," Lucius said. "Tomorrow. Seven o’clock. Don’t worry, we’ve arranged everything."
Severus’ stomach tightened in a mixture of anxiety and confusion. He didn’t want this. He didn’t need it. But as Narcissa’s gaze bore into him, he realized that he had little choice in the matter.
The next day, Severus found himself pacing outside the entrance to Madam Pudifoot’s, the quaint and overly pink tea shop that had somehow become popular among Hogwarts students, despite its tendency to give him a headache just by looking at it. He felt utterly out of place, his black robes stark against the pastel-colored walls and frilly tablecloths.
When he walked in, a bell tinkled above the door, and the smell of lavender tea and scones wafted through the air. Severus couldn’t help but feel a little ridiculous as he stood in the doorway, searching for the person he was supposed to meet. He half-hoped to see Lily waiting for him, but of course, that was impossible. This was a blind date, arranged by Narcissa, and he had no idea who he was supposed to be meeting.
Then, as if from nowhere, a soft, melodic voice caught his attention.
"Severus? Are you… Severus Snape?"
He turned, and there she was. Y/N.
Her long dark hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her green dress seemed to shimmer in the soft lighting of the shop. Her smile was warm, but there was a nervous edge to it, just like the way he was feeling.
"Y/N?" he asked, almost too quietly. "What are you doing here?"
She tilted her head, her lips curling into a small, amused grin. "It seems that Narcissa thought it would be fun to set us up." She raised an eyebrow. "I’m assuming you're as surprised as I am."
Severus felt his heart skip a beat. He hadn’t been expecting this. He had been bracing himself for an awkward encounter with someone else entirely, but here was Y/N—the very person he had admired from afar, sitting across from him at a small table, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.
"I—" Severus stopped himself, unsure of what to say. "I didn’t know it was you."
"Neither did I," she admitted with a soft laugh. "But I suppose we’re here now, so we might as well enjoy it."
They sat in a slightly awkward silence for a moment before the waitress arrived, offering them menus. Severus found himself staring at the menu, but he wasn’t really seeing it. His mind was spinning. Y/N was here. On a date. With him. Not Lily. Y/N.
"So," Y/N said after a moment, breaking the silence, "what have you been up to, Severus? I don’t think we’ve ever really had a proper conversation before."
It was true. They hadn’t. And Severus found himself oddly relieved. This was a blank slate, a chance to get to know her, not as the distant girl in his Potions class, but as someone who might actually become… more.
"I—well, I've been working on my Potions," Severus said, then immediately regretted it. "You know, trying to perfect a few of them."
Y/N smiled, a knowing look in her eyes. "I’ve always thought you were one of the best in Potions," she said, and Severus felt a heat rise in his cheeks. "But you’re also a bit of a mystery, Severus. Why is that?"
His heart pounded a little faster at the question. It was so open, so direct. There was something in her eyes—an understanding, maybe? Or a curiosity?
"I suppose… I’m not very good at opening up to people," Severus confessed, his voice quieter now. "I’ve never really been one for… socializing."
Y/N nodded, her expression thoughtful. "I understand. I’m not exactly the most social person either." She paused. "But sometimes it’s nice to have someone to talk to, don’t you think?"
Severus found himself nodding, but he was still unsure. Was this really happening? Was he really sitting here, with Y/N? It felt almost surreal.
The evening passed quickly, and to Severus’ surprise, he found himself genuinely enjoying the conversation. They talked about everything and nothing—Potions, of course, but also books, the latest gossip at Hogwarts, and their shared experiences as Slytherins in a school that often seemed to push them to the sidelines. By the time they finished their tea and dessert, Severus realized something he hadn’t expected: he was no longer thinking about Lily.
Instead, he was thinking about Y/N.
They walked out of the tea shop together, and Severus felt a sense of peace he hadn’t known in a long time. The night air was cool against his skin, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. In fact, it felt oddly comforting.
"I… I’m glad Narcissa set this up," Severus said quietly, not looking at her but feeling her presence next to him, comforting and warm.
"Me too," Y/N agreed. "I think we make a good pair."
Severus couldn’t help but smile. It was an unfamiliar feeling, but he liked it.
Maybe, just maybe, fate had a hand in this after all.
Weeks had passed since that fateful evening at Madam Pudifoot’s. Severus found himself thinking about Y/N more often than he had ever thought about anything else. Their dates—yes, dates—had become a regular occurrence. After that first meeting, he had found that Y/N was a surprisingly easy person to be around. They’d spent time in quiet corners of the library, discussing their shared love for Potions and the art of brewing the most complicated of brews. They’d visited Hogsmeade together, strolling through the cobbled streets with nothing but the sound of the wind and their quiet laughter accompanying them.
Each date, each conversation, left Severus feeling more at ease. He never expected to enjoy spending time with anyone as much as he enjoyed being with her. For the first time in what felt like forever, he found himself genuinely looking forward to seeing someone—not just because she was a welcome distraction, but because she was someone who understood him in a way that few people ever had.
Y/N, for her part, seemed equally comfortable with him. The distance he’d once put between them, the awkwardness, had slowly vanished as the weeks passed. Her wit and intelligence matched his own, and they both found joy in the most mundane of activities, simply because they were in each other’s company.
It wasn’t just that she was pretty—though she was undeniably that—it was her quiet, thoughtful nature, the way she could sit with him for hours in companionable silence, or the way she would challenge him in discussions about magic, Potions, and life itself.
Severus had never believed in love at first sight. But he was beginning to wonder if there was something more than coincidence behind the way things were unfolding.
One afternoon, as Severus sat in the Slytherin common room, his mind lost in thoughts of Y/N, he was interrupted by a familiar voice.
"Severus."
He looked up to see Lucius Malfoy standing there, a curious expression on his face. Narcissa was just behind him, her eyes gleaming with the same sort of interest that Severus had come to recognize in them when they were scheming.
"Lucius," Severus said, his voice a little guarded. He wasn’t exactly keen on being interrogated about his personal life, but given his friends' penchant for prying, he suspected that was exactly what was about to happen.
Narcissa took a seat next to him, her tone casual, but with a knowing edge. "We’ve been noticing something, Severus," she said, her eyes narrowing slightly in amusement. "You’ve been spending an awful lot of time with Y/N lately."
Severus stiffened slightly, though he did his best to hide it. "I… I suppose we’ve gotten along well. What of it?"
Lucius raised an eyebrow. "I’m asking because it seems that you’ve… become rather fond of her." He let the words hang in the air, almost as if testing the waters.
Severus felt a knot form in his stomach. He didn’t want to admit it—not to Lucius, not to Narcissa—but it was true. He had become fond of Y/N. More than fond, if he was being honest with himself. His feelings for her had only grown stronger with each passing day. She was no longer just the girl he’d noticed from afar in Potions class—she was someone he genuinely cared about.
He opened his mouth, then closed it, unsure of how to respond.
Lucius, ever the opportunist, pressed further. "So, Severus, tell me. Is it serious between you two?"
Narcissa leaned in slightly, her expression softening as she spoke. "You’ve always been rather reserved with your emotions, Severus. But if it’s serious, you should be honest with yourself. And with her."
Severus’ heart was pounding in his chest. He hadn’t fully acknowledged it yet, not in the way Narcissa and Lucius seemed to want him to, but the question was inevitable. He had spent weeks with Y/N, sharing laughs and moments of genuine connection. He was feeling something, something deep and real.
"I—" Severus hesitated, his mind racing, "I think it might be."
Lucius grinned, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Well, there you go. I always knew you weren’t as hopeless as you let on."
Narcissa, ever the more calculating of the two, tilted her head thoughtfully. "You should talk to her about it, Severus. Don’t let this opportunity slip away." Her voice was calm, but there was a sincerity there that Severus hadn’t expected.
The next day, Severus found himself walking down to the courtyard where he and Y/N had agreed to meet. His thoughts were a jumbled mess. Lucius’ questions had brought everything into sharp focus: he did care for Y/N. More than care, he wanted to be with her. He hadn’t been sure of it at first—he’d been so consumed by his obsession with Lily, by his doubts and insecurities. But with Y/N, it felt different. She made him feel seen, understood in a way no one else had.
As he approached the spot where they had planned to meet, he saw her sitting by the fountain, her back to him, her long hair swaying gently in the breeze. The sight of her heartened him, but also left him feeling a bit anxious. He had no idea how she felt about him. Was she just enjoying their time together? Or had she begun to feel something more?
When she turned and saw him, a smile blossomed on her face, and Severus felt his anxiety melt away, just a little.
"Severus," she greeted, standing and brushing the grass from her robes. "You’re early today."
"I wasn’t sure if you’d be on time," Severus replied, his voice softer than usual. "But I’m glad you’re here."
They fell into a comfortable silence for a moment, as they often did, both of them unsure of what to say next. Then, Y/N spoke, her voice quieter than before.
"You’ve been distant lately," she said, her eyes searching his. "I can tell there’s something on your mind."
Severus took a deep breath. This was it. He couldn’t keep hiding behind his doubts. Not anymore.
"I’ve been thinking about us," he said, his voice steady but his heart racing. "And I realized something… I care about you, Y/N. More than I’ve ever cared about anyone."
Y/N’s eyes widened in surprise, but there was no fear in them, only curiosity and something else. Hope, maybe. Her lips parted slightly, as though she was about to say something, but Severus took a step closer, not wanting to wait any longer.
"I know I’ve been… hesitant," he continued. "But after everything we’ve shared, I can’t deny how I feel. You’re not just a distraction for me. You’re not just some pretty face. You make me feel things I didn’t know I could feel."
For a moment, there was only the sound of the wind between them. Then Y/N stepped forward, closing the distance, her hands reaching for his.
"Severus," she whispered, her voice soft yet clear. "I’ve felt the same way. I didn’t know how to say it, but… I’m glad you did."
And in that moment, as if the entire world had aligned just for them, Severus felt his heart swell with emotion. Slowly, he leaned in, his breath hitching, and pressed his lips gently to hers.
It was tentative at first—neither of them sure how to navigate this new, delicate part of their relationship. But as the seconds passed, it became more natural, more real. The kiss deepened, and for the first time in what felt like forever, Severus felt truly alive. All the confusion, the doubt, the years of loneliness—it all melted away in the warmth of Y/N’s kiss.
When they finally pulled apart, Severus kept his forehead resting against hers, his hands still holding hers.
"So," Y/N said softly, her smile shy but sincere, "does this mean we're… official?"
Severus smirked, his usual guarded expression slipping away in the face of her warmth. "I think it does."
And for the first time in years, Severus Snape felt like he had found something worth fighting for. Something more important than anything he had ever known.
The next few weeks passed in a blur of shared moments, laughter, and quiet companionship. Severus had never felt more certain about anything. Y/N was his, and he was hers. And in the quiet of the night, when the world seemed still and he allowed himself a rare moment of peace, Severus couldn’t help but think that perhaps, just perhaps, he had found something even more powerful than magic.
Love.

Out of Darkness - Chapter Five: Promises - Alastor x human!fem!reader
Hello~~ You wouldn't believe how difficult this chapter was to write. Initially, I had a completely different idea, wrote it down entirely, but scrapped it because I didn't like it. Then, I almost finished this chapter when I learned an important lesson about saving your work while writing on the phone… So, I hope it turned out at least acceptable. If you find Alastor a bit off and don't enjoy it, please let me know. Sometimes I might write him in a better light, I guess haha. Enjoy reading, loves <3Go to the table of contents.
Words: ~4080 TW: swearing, angst with happy ending
(Y/n) was walking back home, the empty streets covered by the dark of the night, making her almost run to the safety of her house. She held her phone to her ear, listening to portions of Brenda's stories about her day, still aware of her surroundings.
"Anyway, she's a bitch..." Brenda ended the long story about one of her coworkers who keeps hitting on her boyfriend. "You listening?"
(y/n) snapped out of her trance, realising that her mind was wandering off indeed, and it wasn't only because of her fear of getting kidnapped. "Yeah, I just... I try to be aware of what's happening around me, you know?"
"Yeah, I get that. But you know what would've been great? If your boyfriend would've picked you up from David's, not let you wander off alone, especially knowing that you're uncomfortable doing so." a slight annoyance was present in Brenda's voice. (Y/n) sighed. It wasn't the first time Brenda or David warned her about Alastor.
"He's not my boyfriend, Bren."
"Oh, yeah. Because you've been taking it slow for the past few days. Too slow."
"And what's so wrong about it?" (y/n) said back, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
"Oh, no, girl, don't take me wrong. It is great to take it slow. But not when you're the only one who seems to try." (Y/n) raised an eyebrow at her statement, not understanding what she meant.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, come on! He doesn't call, he doesn't show up at your door, he doesn't ask you on dates. It's like... He's not even trying to take it slow at this point, he just straight up tries to ignore you, but you always come back."
(Y/n) froze for a bit, thinking about her words. As much as she wanted to say the girl was wrong... she wasn't. Alastor never reached out to her, but he never declined her offers either.
"Ok, but then why did he never reject me?" (y/n) asked, mostly trying to convince herself that Brenda was wrong. "He could've just said no."
"Girl, you saved his life. He probably feels guilty to turn you down, but goddamit, you need to stop!" Brenda sighed, trying not to hurt her friend. She was never the sensitive type, but she has always been straightforward when helping a friend. For this reason, (y/n) always appreciated her. "I don't want to seem a bitch, but I'm saying this for you... I hope I'm wrong because I can tell you really like him, but you should stop being so clingy."
"So what should I do?" (y/n) asked as she entered her apartment.
"First, stop calling him. No calls, no texts, no asking out, nothing." Brenda told her, her voice demanding and confident. "Second, if he does in the end reach to you, you do not answer. Not immediately, at least. Maybe wait a few hours... or better - days. And obviously, it also depends on the reason he's calling. What do you do if he asks you on a date in the park?"
"I say yes?" (y/n) asked, curious if she was right or wrong.
"Wrong!" Brenda cut her off before she could even finish. "You say 'I don't know yet. I'll let you know later.'"
(y/n) chuckled at how silly this conversation seemed.
"Don't laugh! Now, on the other hand, if, after all these days of not doing anything, he asks you to lend him 20 dollars, what do you do?"
"I say I'm not in town?"
"Bravo!" Brenda said proudly. "You need to keep him on his toes. Or else, he will think you're a little puppy who's willing to do everything."
"I see, Bren. Thank you. I need to go. We talk later?"
"Sure. Oh, and (y/n)?" Brenda started, (y/n) humming in response. "I know things between you and Mark didn't work out and it altered your brain, making you see things differently than the rest of the world..." (y/n) smiled softly, a hint of sadness in her eyes. "But you're wonderful. And you deserve someone who cares about you. So don't settle for less just because. Trust me, been there." the girl said softly, a side of her that didn't always come to light.
"Thank you... Means a lot. I love you!" (y/n) said and hung up, sitting down on the couch. Her eyes got a bit watery as she thought about what Brenda said. She was right. She threw herself at Alastor, without thinking.
So, she didn't call him and just waited. A day passed, then two, then five and, eventually, a week. There was no sign of Alastor. Not a single text or call. Nothing.
"Nothing?" a text message from Brenda appeared on (y/n)'s phone. She grabbed the phone, her eyes puffy after she's been crying the whole day. She's acted like a fool, giving him everything he needed and now he left her like an old carpet.
"no" she hesitantly texted Brenda, who answered back almost instantly.
"Well, fuck him. Wanna talk?"
(Y/n) didn't want to talk. She wanted to go see him, scream at him, telling him he was a dick. But she had to stay home and move on. They weren't even dating, so why did she care so much?
"gotta clean the apartment. We'll talk later." (y/n) answered and got up. She wasn't exactly lying. The apartment was a mess and she had to do something that would take her mind off this entire thing.
She cursed the day he showed up at her doorstep. She didn't even want to help him at first...
She didn't tell Alastor the whole story of their meeting. Yes, she wanted to do something good, but it's no one's first choice to bring a stranger into their apartment so late at night, especially if they're a woman living alone.
Truth was she came back from work at around nine, finding him there. Drunk people looking for warmth in apartment buildings were nothing uncommon around there, so the police didn't always interfere, simply saying "They will wake up and leave".
She started knocking on the doors of the neighbours that she knew, not wanting to disturb the entire building with her problems. No one answered, making her believe they were either at work or asleep since some of them were old people.
So she called David and waited outside for anyone to come so she could ask for help. No one. Not a single person showed up. She stood there for one hour and no one appeared in sight. Eventually, freezing and knowing that it would take another hour for David to come, she returned to her door, seeing the passed man still in the same position.
Something that night made her do it. Something begged her to let him inside. Maybe it was her consciousness, telling her that if the man died, it would be her fault, or maybe it was just a moment of recklessness... but she brought him in, covering him with a blanket and turning the temperature extra-high just so he wouldn't die. And look where that brought her...
She wanted to cry, not only because of him but because of her too. She was an idiot. She should've kicked him out as soon as he woke up. Why did she care? If he died, she would've never found out anyway.
And she did think about it. That night, the night before and many nights after. Why did she care if he died? Maybe because most of the time that's how human nature worked. It makes us feel sympathy for others. Or maybe because she would constantly ask herself why the man at the club cared. He could've pretended he didn't see anything or take her home and do something worse. But he didn't. He helped her and asked for nothing in return. They didn't even knew each other's names.
Her thoughts were interrupted when her eyes fell on the little music box Alastor gifted her in the past days - they were walking in the park, passing by a lady selling some old decorative stuff. She could tell he liked it the moment he heard the enchanting, soft music, seeing the little ballerina elegantly spin until the song would stop.
She didn't have money on her that day but planned on buying it for him. But despite her plan, he was the one who gave it to her. She looked at him, her eyes wide. "But... I thought you liked it. Why are you giving it to me?" she had asked him. He smiled at her.
"Yes, dear. I liked it. It is very beautiful and unique. That's why I wanted you to have it."
Tears flooded her eyes and without thinking she got dressed and stormed out of the door. She was angry and she needed explanations. She wasn't gonna sit there crying while he was probably out there partying and sleeping around in the apartment she'd found him with the money from a job she helped him get. Adrenaline fueled her veins, her brain only concentrated on what she was going to tell him. She didn't care that it was cold anymore, she didn't care it was so late at night either.
All of her frustrations rushed to her. She was thinking about how she didn't say anything when she found Mark with her friend having sex, how she didn't get to see the faces of those men at the club when the police took them into custody... Without her will, she needed to take it out.
(Y/n) arrived way too quickly to his place, stopping in front of the door. For a moment, she just stood there, contemplating on what she should do. She took a deep breath and knocked a few times, but no answer. Without thinking, she tried on the doorknob, realising the door was opened. As the door slowly opened with a loud creaking noise, strong smell of paint and stale air engulfed her, almost forcing a choke out of her.
She cautiously entered, a dim light coming out from the room. Upon entering, she froze in the doorway, the scene in front of her seemingly ripped out of a murder documentary. A few candles were lit and the floor was full of paint coming out of a knocked can. There were many broken glass pieces and fallen books or objects. And on top of this scene, there was Alastor, casually sitting on the couch, a glass of whiskey in his hand. He looked away from her, almost as if she wasn't there in the first place.
"Alastor...?" she hesitated, a bit taken aback, her courage long gone. She looked for a moment behind her, making sure she left the door open just in case. The atmosphere felt so heavy, almost as if she was in a horror movie. "What happened?" she asked, stepping a bit closer, waiting for his reaction.
"I tripped and fell." He said after a short pause that actually felt much longer. (Y/n)'s anger came back, clearly seeing through his lies.
"You think I'm an idiot?" she asked, saying it a bit more aggressive than she would've liked. Alastor chuckled at her question, drinking the remains of the whiskey in one sip. He looked up at her
"No, dear, I don't think that," he said and his gaze turned away from her again. "But you're quite the gullible one, aren't you?"
Alastor said the last part mostly to himself, not really meaning for her to hear it, but she did. (Y/n)'s eyes watered at his words.
"You are such a dick..." she said through her teeth and walked towards the door.
Alastor's eyes widened slightly at her tone. He hadn't expected her to confront him like this.
"Wait!" he called out. His voice was a little louder than before, a hint of panic in it. (Y/n) stopped, despite her better judgment, waiting for him to say something. Anything.
Alastor took a deep breath, his eyes fixed on her back. For some reason, the thought of her walking away and never coming back made his heart clench in his chest.
He stood up from the couch, taking a few steps closer to her. "Please... don't leave," he said, his voice low and soft.
She slowly turned to face him. He looked changed. His once tidied-up and always-on-point appearance was now dishevelled. His hair was a mess, greasy strands covering his forehead and his clothes were dirty, full of dry paint.
"Why wouldn't I? Do you need anything else? A bigger house? Maybe a car?" she said, sarcasm filling her tone. "But don't you worry! I will give them to you so you can dismiss me again, right?"
Alastor flinched at her words, the sarcasm in her tone hitting him like a dagger. He clenched his jaw, his usually calm demeanour faltering for a moment. "You don't understand..." he said, the words coming out sharper than he intended.
(Y/n)'s anger and boldness grew with every second. "No, Alastor, I don't!" she spat the words at him. "I don't understand why, after everything I did, you couldn't at least call to tell me to leave you the fuck alone it that's what you wanted. I think I deserved at least that!"
Alastor’s mask of composure slipped, his expression darkening. "I never asked you to do anything for me, did I?" he snapped, his voice now laced with irritation. "You decided to help me on your own."
He took a step closer to her, almost towering over her. "So don’t act like I owe you anything."
You know what?” She said, her voice low and serious. “You’re right.” She admitted to him, looking into his eyes, trying her best not to cry right there.
“I wish I kicked you out that night right after you woke up, Alastor.” She told him and stormed off the door, shutting it with force behind her. Alastor stood there, dumbfounded, as he watched her storm out.
The sound of the door slamming echoed through his empty apartment, leaving a heavy silence in its wake.
He leaned against the wall, his expression a mixture of anger and frustration. He knew he messed up, but his pride didn’t allow him to admit it, to go after her. He walked into his living room, the silence surrounding him like a suffocating fog, he heard her parting words echoing in his mind.
'I wish I kicked you out that night...'
He clenched his jaw, his fists balled up in irritation. He should have been the one saying this. He should’ve been the one to dismiss her. But somehow, the tables had turned and she had the upper hand. And it frustrated him to no end. She was the reason he didn’t leave in the first place and now she’s mad at him.
Alastor growled in annoyance. She had no right to be mad at him! It wasn't his fault. He didn't ask for her help, and he certainly didn't ask her to keep checking up on him.
He clenched his teeth, the rage in him now boiling over. "Unbelievable," he muttered under his breath, his eyes fixed on the door she had slammed shut. He should just let her go, forget about her. She was a mere human, after all. Alastor was not. He had much more important things to focus on.
But he found himself unable to do that. He was irritated, yes. But the thought of her being out there, alone and upset, sent a sense of unease creeping up his spine.
And so, he sent one of his shadows to follow her, roaming the earth to look for her. He paced the room, minutes feeling like hours, his uneasiness stopping slightly when the shadow returned.
"Well?" he asked, his voice betraying a note of impatience.
The shadow nodded, the confirmation Alastor was waiting for. He didn't say a word, but a small wave of relief washed over him.
"Take me to her," he said quietly. Alastor followed the shadow as it led him to the park they used to walk in. His steps were firm and confident, but his mind was swirling with a mix of emotions.
He saw her sitting on a bench, shoulders slumped, head bowed. She was crying. This sight sent a pang of guilt through him. He didn’t like it. Didn’t like that he was the cause of her crying.
Alastor approached her, a coil in his stomach forming with every step. She noticed him and quickly looked away, ignoring him as he sat down next to her. Her nose and cheeks were red from the cold and she was trembling, trying to keep her already pale hands at least a little bit warm.
"You're cold," he noted, his voice unusually soft. He wanted to scold her, maybe even reprimand her for storming out like that. But seeing her like this made him hesitate.
“I’m not.” She quickly said, still not looking at him
Alastor rolled his eyes at her childish reply. "Don't lie. I can hear your teeth chattering from here." he retorted, but there was no real bite to his words.
“Why do you care?” She asked, her voice barely audible.
Alastor frowned at her question, his irritation growing. "I don't." he lied, his voice sharp. He was not about to admit the truth of why he was here. How could he admit it when even he couldn’t understand? Why was he here to check on her, after he just ignored her? He was Alastor. Not some lovesick puppy. He turned his head away from her, the silence between them thick and uncomfortable.
“Then leave…” (y/n) eventually said. “I’ll be fine. David will pick me up.” She was in fact lying. She didn't want to call David. Not anyone for that matter. She wanted to be left alone.
Alastor clenched his jaw, his irritation growing as he knew she was bluffing and lying about the ride. He could read her like an open book.
"I don't care if David picks you up or not," he said, his voice harsh. "But I'm not leaving you out here all alone in this cold." (Y/n) got up, harshly looking at him.
“You know what? Do you want to be even? Fine!” She shouted. “You saved me from freezing to death! Thank you! Now we’re even! Now leave me the fuck alone!” Her eyes were red and swollen from the crying, tears still flooding them. She walked away, but Alastor quickly got up and grabbed her arm, his grip firm.
With a low growl, Alastor reached out and gripped her chin, forcing her to look at him. His eyes bored into hers, anger and... worry burning into them.
"You're coming with me," he stated firmly, his voice leaving no room for argument.
(Y/n) wanted to protest, but she didn’t. She wanted to pull back when he grabbed her hand, leading her away from the bench, but she didn’t. She was tired, cold, angry…
He stopped a cab and opened the door for her, following her inside.
As the cab rattled to life, Alastor silently looked at (y/n). He could see the exhaustion in her eyes, the anger still simmering just below the surface. The ride was quiet, the tension between them palpable. When they finally reached her place, he followed her up the stairs, his hand still gripping her arm firmly.
Alastor immediately let go of her as soon as they entered the apartment, the sudden lack of warm skin against his hand sending an unexpected jolt through him.
He looked around the apartment, his eyes taking in the familiar surroundings. Everything was just as he remembered it. Organized and tidy. Peaceful.
“I expect you to leave as soon as possible.” She coldly said to him as she took her shoes off, keeping her gaze away from him.
Alastor bristled at her cold tone and the way she avoided his gaze. He had half a mind to just turn around and leave without a word, but something kept him there.
"You really want me to leave?" he asked, his voice betraying a hint of vulnerability he didn’t mean to show.
She sighed, tears refusing to come out anymore, but the feeling of wanting to cry was still there. “I am nothing to you, Alastor… why would I want you to stay?”
Alastor's heart clenched upon hearing her words. He wanted to deny it, tell her she was wrong. But he couldn’t. It was a fact he had reminded himself of countless times.
He was a selfish being. A demon. He didn’t have any room for a human in his life. Not even her.
But then, why was he here? Why was he so bothered by the thought of her crying? After a few moments of silence, Alastor finally spoke up, his voice quieter than before. "Sit down," he instructed her, making his way to the couch. She followed without protesting, hugging her knees to her chest as she sat down.
Seeing her like this made Alastor's heart skip a beat. She seemed so small and vulnerable. He looked away from her. He could feel her eyes on him, waiting for him to speak. He hated the silence, the tension. He wanted to say something, anything. But words eluded him.
What was he supposed to say anyway? Sorry? Sorry for dismissing her? For ignoring her? For treating her like a nuisance, a burden even though she has only ever helped him?
(Y/n) sighed, getting ready to get up, knowing that this would lead them nowhere.
"I'm not good with emotions and feelings," he finally said, his voice coming out soft and quiet, making her stop in her tracks. He didn’t look at her, his gaze fixed on the floor. "I've never been good at them. I don't know how to deal with them. I don't know how to deal with you..."
(Y/n) raised an eyebrow at his words. As much as she hated it, she still… felt some sympathy for him. She was hoping he’d say something awful, just so she would not be able to forgive him, just so she would have a reason to kick him out.
“With… me?” She asked.
Alastor sighed, raking a hand through his hair. "Yes, you," he confirmed, his voice growing taut with irritation.
He hated this. Hated this feeling of vulnerability, of being open and honest about his emotions. It was so unlike him.
"You're different." he continued, finally looking at her. "You always have been. You make me…" he trailed off, the words getting caught in his throat. He wanted to tell her she made him feel things he had never felt before. That she was unlike anyone he had ever met. That she had somehow weaselled her way into his heart, making it beat in a way it hadn’t in a very long time. But he didn’t. He couldn’t. The words were there, at the tip of his tongue, but they died before he could say them out loud.
He felt her warm hand suddenly resting on him, his whole body almost burning at the sensation. He pulled it away as a reflex, making her do the same.
"Sorry... I'm not used to... being touched so suddenly like this," he said, his voice so quiet. He looked at her, a pink blush spreading on her cheeks as she fidgeted her fingers. He noticed that at her. Whenever she was anxious she would do this. Slowly, he reached back for her hand, her eyes widening at the interaction.
"I'm sorry... I..." he started, not really finding the words. "I really don't want to make you suffer." he squeezed her hand slightly.
"You keep saying this, Al... But I don't get it... Hurt me how?" she asked him. He sighed, caressing the skin with his thumb.
"I can't open up, (y/n)... I was not used to this kind of things... My father..." he stopped, pinching the bridge of his nose. What was he doing...?
She squeezed back his hand. "Alastor... If you want this... I am willing to wait."
He looked at her, a genuine look on her face. He knew she didn't understand... He knew she would never understand but... Alastor also knew there was no way he could leave, not now.
His instincts acted in a weird way around her. He felt the need to protect her, to be with her.
"I do..."

10. Do you have any other A:TLA ships?
Yes, I have another ships. Is not like I ship them like I ship Zutara, but they are my favourite. It would be long answer, but here my thought about them.
Sokka and Suki (Sukka)
In my opinion, Sukka is the best written canon couple. They have conflicts in their journey and resolved all of those very well.
When they met at the first time, Sokka was misogynistic and Suki taught him a lesson. Sokka finally understood his mistakes, learned from it, and throwed away his ego. After judging women badly, he humbly asked to be taught by a woman.
In the end, Sokka also said sorry after thinking she was 'just a woman'. Then she told him that she was a warrior but also a woman. It was very good way to resolve their conflict.
I'm not sure who Sokka's first love was, Suki or Yue? But, it doesn't matter, because Suki and Yue were important characters for Sokka.
When Sokka and Suki met again in The Serpent's Pass episode, Sokka still felt guilty and lost over Yue's sacrifice. Sokka became overprotective to Suki because of his guilt.
When they almost kissed in front of the moon, Sokka stopped it. That's as it should be because you shouldn't kiss someone when you're thinking about someone else. And again, in the end they resolve their conflict and kissed. Sokka could finally move on.
They not only looked good together, but also accept each other. Sokka was so funny that he could always cheer up Suki. Sokka always did efforts to Suki too - even it turned out very ugly - and Suki appreciated him. They show a healthy relationship more than other canon couples.
It really disappointed me that I didn't see Suki and Sokka together in TLOK. I read a headcanon that Suyin was Sokka's daughter, but then what happened with Sukka? Because, I really hope Sokka and Suki were actually happily together.
Also, even though I don't considering the comic ever exist, but I do know some people ship Suki with Zuko based on it. I got some of their moments, maybe there are more.
I don't mind with the shipper, but I don't understand the writers. Like why? I know the writers hate how well-written Zutara than their canon ship and they ruined Zutara potential in ATLA. But why the writers had to bother Sukka in the comic, the only well-written canon couple, to gave another love potential to Zuko?
But, well, whatever their relationship was, I don't read the comic anyway.
Toph and Aang (Taang)
Yes, I love Zutara, but it doesn't mean I hate Aang. I just don't think he's a good match for Katara for many reasons, there's a lot of meta and analysis about it - and it makes sense to me.
Meanwhile, Toph and Aang have more potential than canon. Their arc is actually interesting if only the author would dig deeper and not be too obsessed with 'the hero gets the girl'.
Just like fire and water, air and earth are the opposite element. They are different, but they need each other.
Air is the element of freedom. In fact, Aang was Toph's first friend and he was also the one who offered her freedom, something she really wanted and needed.
Earth people are persistent. Aang wasn't weak, he was strong, but he was too soft. While Katara kept Aang in his comfort zone, Toph was the one who taught him to be tougher and stand his ground.
Aang has a connection with Toph, because he saw a vision of her before they met in person. While Sokka and Katara saw visions of their past, Aang saw visions of his future.
What if at that time Aang was actually seeing a vision of his future and his past?
Because in his dream, he saw Toph had no face, it parallels with his past life (Avatar Kuruk) that lost his lover when Koh stole her face.
It wasn't my original thought, I read this meta from a fanfic and I was stunned with this potential!
I learned that earth was an element that Aang often used in battle after mastering it, even though it was a difficult element for him at first.
Not only that, earth was the element that re-opened his chakra and made him enter the Avatar State. Maybe it's a coincidence, but it still shows that Aang has a connection with his opposite element.
But I think I know why they didn't plan on making Aang and Toph canon even though it would've been a great arc.
Like, no way the writer's inserting-self end up with character who originally a muscular sixteen-years-old boy.
Zuko and Katara (Zutara forever)
I know the question is about ships other than Zutara, but I couldn't help myself to include them on the list.😅 Zutara is too addictive to be missed. 💙❤️

It Wasn't in my Head (1)
(a/n: hellooo! im super excited to be putting my ideas into writing ((finally)) and sharing it with u! this will be a multi part fic, im not sure how long yet, but i am a fan of long slowburn stories so get ready. also, this story will contain inappropriate themes so minors and ageless blogs dni! this is only my third or fourth fic ive ever done so plz be nice to me hehe. ok on with it then)
Summary: Abby is the starting linebacker at UW and when her team starts to falter her coach decides to get the team into ballet, in order to teach them that grace and stability is important in football too. Abby is just as upset about her teammates about this, until she sees her pretty new ballet teacher...
dancer!reader x football!abby
!!ABBY IS STRAIGHT IN THE BEGINNING. READER IS HER GAY AWAKENING!!
The locker slammed in the empty room as the blonde walked out alone, ready for practice. There were a few "hey man"s thrown her way as she walked out the doors.
Abby had always had a thing for sports since she was a kid. She tried a lot of them too, none of them quite working out.
That was before she found football.
Football was one of the only things that ever made Abby truly happy. She knew it was kind of corny to say, but she seriously felt lost without it.
So when she worked her ass off and was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to play on the men's football team at the college in her hometown, it just kind of felt like fate was aligned.
Abby jogged over to where she saw everyone else running and started doing so. Abby got along fine with all the boys on her team, I mean it was her team after all, but she never really felt the need to truly befriend any of them. She had her close circle and that was all she needed.
Her said close circle consisted of her friends Miguel, Ellie, and Vi.
Her and Miguel met when they were teenagers at a boxing class. She ended up hating boxing but loving what came out of it. Miguel was the type of guy to make anyone feel good about anything. He could turn anything into the funniest joke, or a life lesson.
And Ellie, well she met Ellie not long ago, when their dads met in a poker club and Ellie's dad kina killed Abby's in the game. They had been friends ever since they started talking about their lack of mothers and love of corny dad jokes. Abby had also always known Ellie was gay, but the deal was kind of sealed when she would gush about her crush on a girl named Riley.
And Vi, well Vi was Abby's best friend since childhood. Abby was embarrassed to say, but she was the scared, shy kid sitting on the ABC rug in the classroom. Thankfully, Vi was the complete opposite and marched right up to Abby on her short little legs and struck up conversation. And the rest of the story just kind of wrote itself.
"Hey! Hey Anderson! Slow down!"
Abby looked over her shoulder to analyze the face calling out to her. She turned back ahead and cringed before turning back around and smiling at the man.
Owen wasn't a bad guy per-say, it was really just the way he couldn't learn when to stop. He had practically been eating out of Abby's hands the past three years they've been playing together.
It always confused Abby why she wasn't attracted to Owen, but she sort of just wasn't, and she thought she had made that pretty clear. She also just liked to think that sports were important to her, and she had too much going on for crushes or relationships.
"Hey Owen what's goin on?" Abby slowed so the man could catch up and tried to approach the conversation politely.
"Oh yaknow...practice," He said in between huffs, trying to catch up with the fit girl next to him, "What about you?"
"Yeah just, practice," She commented, coated with awkwardness.
Owen went to open his mouth to speak again, but thankfully her coach whistled loudly and told everyone to hustle in.
They flocked over to their coach and took a knee in front of him while the moustached man opened his mouth and started speaking.
"I called y'all over here to talk before ya started doing drills," he gruffed in his strange accent, "I hope y'all have noticied, that all your scrimages have been straight crap recently. I've seen blindfolded toddlers play ball better than you sissies!"
Abby cringed at his harsh words, but she couldn't help but agree. She assumed everyone was slacking recently due to the fact it was August, and the season hadn't even started yet.
"So, since I wont be caught coaching a ton of pansies, I've decided to get some outside help," everyone seemed confused by his words, and Abby couldn't help but be confused herself.
What the hell kind of outside help did they need?
"Huskies, y'all are gonna be taking ballet classes," the coach said, smirk prominent on his mustache covered lips.
Everyone immediately groaned and commented with wild distaste for the man's decision.
"Shut your nabbin!" he erupted with anger in his voice, "I don't want to hear another damn word! Y'all are takin ballet to learn that just because you think you're big tough men, don't mean you are! You will learn how to move properly on your feet, improving your agility, balance, and strength coordination. You start tomorrow and are fortunate enough to be taught by the greatest ballet dancer in the state and a student at this school. Dismissed,"
Fuck
(a/n: ok wow first chapter! hoped you guys liked it, I promise the next chapter will be more interesting. I will try and have it out soon! ♡︎♡︎)

TELL ME ABOUT TED. Headcanons you have for him, anything... Can be silly or serious.
Someone... SOMEONE'S ASKING ME ABOUT MY HEADCANONS?! IT'S BEEN YEARS SINCE SOMEONE'S ASKED ME ABOUT MY HEADCANONS!! HOLD ON, I MADE A DOCUMENT!! /ref/hj
In actuality, I did genuinely make a google doc. But it's not ready to be shared yet, so I'll share the highlights.
First off, the game manual lies. He is NOT 44. He's 33 at OLDEST. I kind of consider him more like 29/30. Just barely.
He grew up in South Carolina hehe, farm boy
Bisexual disaster but I think this is kinda just obvious.
He is the oldest between him and his 5 siblings!!! And adding onto this, he is SUCH a good older brother. I don't care if everyone else disagrees, he could be the worst man alive but the one good thing someone could say was that he took care of his siblings.
If you know Ayano from Kagerou Project, I think he's a lot like her when he's younger. Like 8/9 years old. He tried so hard to protect them all from their parents and keep them happy. He'd sacrifice so much for them, it's why he kinda,, went into the extreme of being so,, entitled as a grown up. Ykwim???
Just imagine. With the ice caves, moving without thinking to save the others before himself? His brain subconsciously doing what he knows best; sacrificing what he has for others.
Selflessness as a core trait for Ted, please.
Another thing relating to his siblings: He knows how to do ballet!! And he's REALLY good at it. He actually has a lot of fun doing it. One of his sisters wanted to, but she was too afraid to take lessons alone, so he went along with her in secret. Didn't get caught for years. (She stopped lessons once he got forced out of them)
He talks a little like a New-Yorker, or at the very least, that transAtlantic accent (yk like from the old movies?) to try and play off as that kind of guy like Great Gatsby.
His actual accent is Southern. Sometimes it slips out when he's like, extremely flustered/angry, but it's such a rare thing.
He can't stand the sound of someone crying, it immediately makes him angry. Take that, and yk, Ellen or Benny constantly crying... Yeaaaah. (This is also due to his siblings).
This is obvious, he forces himself into doing a lot of masculine things that he doesn't like to appear older/wiser/better, insert whatever word you wanna use that translates to "I am insecure about myself" lol
Okay this last one is really important to me and like. It. Needs its own special paragraph. He is a creative person in his soul. He loves to learn, he loves to write, he loves to read and dance and sing and draw and he has such a huge imagination and love for creativity. You can see it in his psychodrama with how it plays out like a full-blown Grimms Fairytale, the monster he imagined that no one else could see, the line in the radio drama "Am I the last storyteller, telling the last story...?"
He's a storyteller. He has so much to say and share, and he would've done something creative with his life if he had the option, but the abuse he faced and the societal expectations placed on him forced him to,, give it all up. Made him realize he could never have that. Which is why, at least in the game, AM chose him. Ted had so much potential to create, and just... gave it up. For seemingly nothing. Why wouldn't that make AM mad, who can't create, can't even imagine or wonder?
AKA Theatre Kid Ted canon, let it be known
I have like, also. I have a somewhat-AU of Omori for the ihnm cast, and Ted takes the role of Basil. I think Dream Basil vs RW Basil fit a lot of what he is as a kid vs an adult, or at least aspects of both due.
I also have a Hadestown AU of him with my self-insert where he takes the role of Eurydiceeee.... Like. Guys, Hadestown fans, hear me out. Ted singing "Flowers." AM singing "Hey Little Songbird" to Ted. PLEASE HEAR ME CAN YOU HEAR ME??? ARE YOU LISTENING??? /J
There's so much more I can say but this is getting so long I will definitely share more if people want nfjkdc bUT THANK YOU FOR ASKING!!!
#ihnmaims#i have no mouth and i must scream#ted ihnmaims#sara speaks :3#ihnmaims ted#the grip this man has on me ffs#i think about him so much it's unhealthy#i need to like#kill him

Prince William and the meaning of service - a lesson for Harry and Meghan by u/Larushka
Prince William and the meaning of service - a lesson for Harry and Meghan I’ve just finished watching Prince William’s documentary on eradicating homelessness in the UK, but before I give my opinion (and especially making it relevant to this sub) I just have to vent.I am just so angry with the Times and their negative attitude towards Prince William’s efforts at helping the homeless. As has already been posted, they chose to publish a supposed exposé on how much William and his father are worth, and how much money they make - most of which is public knowledge anyway, although admittedly has not been presented in one publication like this. Remember the Times used to support the Royals and be their mouthpiece. Quite honestly, I think the reason the establishment is against him, is because if, and lets hope, when, he achieves what he’s started, it will be a huge embarrassment for government who have thrown way too much money at failed schemes. Now PW is in charge of the Duchy, he is DOING THE RIGHT THING! He’s donating Duchy land to build support housing for the homeless as a model for other areas around the UK including Northern Ireland. In the past year, he’s been absolutely hands on in getting over 300 organizations involved, working together instead of against each other. He’s literally continuing and expanding Princess Diana’s legacy of caring for the homeless and actually doing something tf about it. He’s not just shilling for money like Harry at NATO - he’s actually trying to get to the root of homelessness and stop it before it starts. And coupled with Catherine’s Early Years program, where she has been attempting a similar project, but intervening when the children are very young, between the two of them, they are set to make wonderful changes. Harry could learn so much from the way William works. William acknowledges he’s in a very privileged position and literally states that “what is his life for, if not to give back and help people”. And because he doesn’t have to answer to government, he can take the advice of people who are boots on the ground, actively working in the homeless community, without getting involved in politics. He gets his hands dirty. He visits people in their environment, however squalid. The places don’t get cleaned up prior to his visit - unlike Harry visiting supposed veteran patients in a fake hospital room, or pretending to walk through a mine field. I was literally crying watching this documentary and pray William’s endeavor is a success. He and Harry are just so different. William honors Diana’s memory by continuing her work. Harry destroys it by dragging her memory through the mud.Harry and Meghan cavort around like they are the most important people in the room. But William IS the most important person in the room, but is also incredibly humble - he listens, instead of giving arm waving word salad speeches. To be a true Royal in a constitutional monarchy, you need to actually want to serve your people, not expect them to be subservient to you. I have no idea what the future is for Harry and Meghan, but as long as they are together, they do not belong in the UK. They do not know the meaning of the word ‘service’. (I’m in the USA and saw it on Disney. I hope they make it more widely available, so everyone can see it.) post link: https://ift.tt/TFumbVk author: Larushka submitted: November 03, 2024 at 07:05AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. 4x06: Patrick and Eliza: Game, Set, Match
It's funny because when I got on this ship Season 2, I legitimately didn't believe it had a prayer. The title is Miss Scarlet and the Duke, for heaven's sake. Now though...any ending that isn't Eliza and Patrick is crap. As for the title...the Duke was always in small letters. He's in the background, BEHIND her. He is an important part of her backstory. That doesn't make him her future.
SPOILERS BELOW!
Let's just go over some of the stuff from the episode.
More Partner Power in the cold open. The sound like an old married couple. They prepare to fight the criminal together.
Patrick staring at Eliza center stage taking applause from the men with so much damn pride.
Eliza demonstrating a willingness to share credit with him and the men. She is absorbing Patrick's lessons like a sponge, both there and with Potts later.
He takes her to the race track and she agree with almost no cajoling needed. This is so much cooler than dinner with William, because dinner is a traditional female outing. Patrick is sharing his hobbies, and not giving a damn about societal convention.
Eliza says the thing that has always made Nash such a favorite of mine: He has faith in her when no one does. Not her father, not Ivy, not William.
She is able to stop Patrick from murdering his brother's killer with the simple words, "You are my friend." Eight years of waiting and planning for this moment, and the knowledge he is important to Eliza is enough to stay his hand.
He apologizes to her. She interfered with his plan when he asked her not to. Prevented his revenge and escape to the continent. He is facing jail time. He just saved her life. AND HE APPOLOGIZES TO HER! Try to imagine William doing that. I dare you.
He tries to make HER FEEL BETTER. Once again he is IN JAIL facing serious prison time as a PRIVATE DETECTIVE who has put men in there. Yet, he puts on a brave face and assumes an optimistic air. He uses his old joke about his good looks and her brains. All to sooth her as much as he can, while he can.
Her thinking him a good person is desperately important to him.
He'll "always keep trying." Patrick never quits, his commitment is absolute. That is what Eliza needs, because life with her will never be easy.
She takes his hand. Eliza isn't much of a comforter, and as she looks at him there is grief she can't or won't speak. So instead she take his hand to tell him without words how much she cares.
I'm sorry, but William on his best day, will never top this. Some people might say that the writers have clearly written Patrick off with this storyline. I say however the writers have perfectly tee-ed up the end of the love triangle.
William will return next season to a changed Eliza, one that has learned, thanks to her growth with Patrick, how to function as a PI perfectly well without him. Detective Fitzroy won't need him anymore either, having finally stopped caring about his father and earning the respect of his fellow officers. The icing on the cake though I think will be Patrick's trial.
I suspect Eliza is going to perjure herself to get Patrick released, possibly even blackmail some people. She going to 1) risk her license and 2) offend William. William as a police office takes the law very seriously. Eliza, when push comes to shove, is going to save her partner by any means necessary. Patrick, I further predict will also discourage her from involving herself and risking her future as a detective. More over I think he will try to get William to stop her, hopefully resulting in a frank discussion during which William will release the extent of Patrick's feelings for Eliza.
William will finally realise the truth, that though they may love each other, they don't belong together. To Glasgow or back to America will go William. Patrick will be released and from there onto more Patrick/Eliza investigations.

I actually can’t shut up about Marquis de Sade. Hi.
About his books; (I’ve only read the 120 days of sodom and justine yet, now i am reading juluette) i just wanna say, all of his books involve sexual acts, not very softly. He involves every passion you can imagine, every fetish and kink, (especially in the 120 days of sodom) and he pays a lot of attention to write about his characters pleasuring themselves for other’s suffering. His name did not become the term Sadist, Sadism by accident. But next to those sexual and brutal acts he wrote down, he gave us his thinking, his phylosphy. His characters talk, and there are lot of monolouges which reflect his own philosophy, which is indeed very interesting and it makes his works even more important, especially in the time he lived in, he was a great thinker and i still see him as one.
Let’s talk about the 120 days of sodom: (the plot is that four libertine men steal minors and other humans for different uses, for four months, they also invite four ladies who tell five sexual stories they lived every day for 120 days) While the ladies tell their stories, sometimes the four libertine stops the story and they start to talk, and so many times they spill phylosophy and thinking, their veiws, and their veiws are the veiws of the Marquis de Sade himself.
Which makes me think Sade was an intelligent and complicated person, is that since i learned a lot about his life, when i read the pages of the 120 days of sodom, in the phylosophyval monolouges i noticed, he knew damn well what was happening to him and how his childhood affected him, he understands what is around him and how people get affected by things. Sometimes i feel like i read the book of a misunderstood genius.
When Marquis wrote the 120 days of sodom, he was in prison and it made him mad, and this is a reason why is the 120 days of sodom so much more brutal than his other books. Also he could not finish it, but the firsr month is completed.
Now, i want to talk a little about Justine, which is the sister story of Juliette. These two girls are siblings, and they lose their parents, they don’t have money, and they are trying to solve their problems, but they choose different ways to try to gain money and to keep living. Juliette gives in to the easier ways, she chooses to get rich by sins, and she gets rich, while justine tries to stay good and she refused to give in to any sin or sinful thoughts even tho she suffered too much, she tried to stay by god’s side. She had done nothing wrong and she suffered, while her sister, Juliette did not care about the rules, she sinned bur she won everything she needed and even more.
For the whole story, Justine is like a muppet for de Sade, he can do whatever he wants with her, and she stayes beautiful and angelic. Since the story is in her perspective, somes say, Sade could understand her vision and how she thought, and how she lived all those things, and all that, but those are all wrong, there are one of two times where it feels like Sade even forgets he writes from the perspective of Justine. Also why i said she was just a puppet for him, is because as how i said no matter what happened to justine, she was still alive, and she was still beautiful. She was always wrote down as beautiful, no matter what happened, and she was a puppet who Sade could put into situations where he can create conversations which he could fill with his phylosophy and thinking.
Sade started to write justine in prison, but finished it out, when he was free. He wrote a few lines about the lessons in the story, which was so weird to me to read because i felt like he would not think that. After this i was thinking, and i remembered, his books and fictions were not liked by the government and kings and emberors, he was often put into prison because of his erotic works, so, the last lines of justine about lessons feel like he tried to save himself.
My next reads by him will be Juliette, which i already started and also Phylosophy in the bedroom.
I will write more about him here for sure, but that’s all for now, i am sorry if it sounds stupid, i am tired af but i am tweaking so hard. Also i don’t support his abusive things and stuff.

Dungeon Meshi Volume 13 Part 1
Welcome back! Things are about to reach a breaking point! You know things are crazy when all six chapters of the volume have the same name.
Volume 13's cover is literally just the gang running away from a spoiler, so please accept these cute pictures of baby Marcille from the daydream hours.
A precious image.
Wishes, man. There's always a catch. Whether that be an evil genie, or a perfect unconscious wish, it never goes how you want. This one doesn't even let you say no thanks.
This is such a good fake-out. Now someone grab some zip-ties.
So, is Marcille going to struggle with impulse control for the rest of her life, or did it just eat her desire not to lead an army to the surface?
Sure you will buddy. *proceeds to, in fact, not be careful*
Oh god, if he defeats the demon, we'll be out of a job.
This is cool and all, but what happens to this avatar after the gang goes inside? Does it turn back into monsters? Does it simply vanish? It's totally gone next time we see outside.
There was probably a more literal translation for that onomatopoeia, but damn if that isn't perfect. I also like the detail that Mithrun lost his fake eye.
Happy 8/8 everyone.
Going a little out of order here, since Chapter 87 and Misc tales 13 go together. So, everything seems to indicate that the Demon and magic itself are one and the same. But where do spirits fit into all of this? Are spirits, like, sub-sentient demon bits? Are they micro-organisms that can use magic? Everything in this page sure sounds like gnomish magic to me.
Genuinely curious how the anime will handle these panels.
How? No, seriously, how did the ancients trap the demon? The demon is an entity of unlimited power. Why is it contrained to rules? We know it likes fulfilling desires, but what's stopping it from acting on its own? Why did it need to swap with Laios just to use its power for itself? It's never really explained how the demon came to be constrained. I understand the demon's current rules, but I don't know how we reached this point.
So much world-building in one panel. I don't really get how the demon managed such massive, world sweeping changes though.
The demon is exceptionally awful. It is manipulative, selfish, cruel, and it ultimately takes everything that matters away. But it didn't become that way because of its intrinsic nature. It learned to be evil by watching us.
Seriously, the exit is right there. What is keeping the demon bound to these dungeons?
Yeah, maybe should have figured that out before going right into the lion's den. (haha)
No, see, that's the beauty of Laios' plan. By focusing so hard on plan A, the lion will be completely blindsided by plan B.
I'm sure Falin would think it's cute.
She does her best not to show it... but this is a big moment for Izutsumi. No one has ever trusted her. No one has ever implicitly trusted her with something important like this. And the craziest part? She's actually going to do it. Laios is right to trust her.
One interesting takeaway from this story is the lesson that people are, by their very nature, selfish beings. Yet, we push through, and do the right thing anyway. I'm sure someone smarter than me could articulate it better. Something something, Laios' curse.
I have some thoughts on this panel. Check out my post where I go into it in detail!
I know this is a serious moment, but Laios just looks like a creepy chicken.
Laios failed the vibe check. He looked WAY too cool and professional as he chopped off the lion's head.
Laios doesn't have an evil bone in his body, yet we're getting a Laios villain arc anyway!
Oh no! What are our heroes going to do! Find out next post!

So just out of curiosity, what’re the Shepherds thoughts on Brionys whole amnesia situation? And follow up, what would they be like if they ended up with amnesia too? Sorry if two questions is too much, you don’t have to answer them if you don’t want to!
Hi there, how the ROs would react if they ended up with amnesia has been answered over in the #amnesia tag! As for how they feel about Briony's amnesia, it mostly goes:
Blade: it's a somewhat bizarre backstory, but not the craziest thing he's heard (especially in relation to everyone else). Mostly he sympathizes with her fears that something from her past could come back to blindside her, that aspect of it appeals to his natural paranoia so he's keeping a wary eye out in case that day ever happens and he needs to have her back!
Trouble: he feels bad for her; relationships are important to him, and while he lost his parents young, he at least knows enough about them to have closure about it--Briony doesn't have that, so he sympathizes with the 'not knowing' aspect of it and feels really bad for her! Mostly he just tries to keep her spirits high and not make her dwell on it, since nothing much can be done, so he never brings it up!
Tallys: amnesia is basically like her worst nightmare: having lived for so long and being a Keeper means history and personal recollection is really important to her, so she's privately horrified by what Briony's been through and is always around to talk about it with her, but she doesn't want to pry or bring it up unprompted... Since Briony's never brought it up to her, though, they don't end up ever really discussing it!
Shery: she feels bad for Briony, but at the same time sees how happy and fulfilled Briony seems to be as her current self, so she doesn't think it's too much of a big deal because Briony never seems to let it bother her? She's more focused on helping her feel at-home and comfortable and helping her learn "new" things rather than trying to recover stuff about her personal past and memories!
Riel: he's intensely curious about Briony's past: it's probably one of his biggest "private projects" at the moment, lol, he's been conducting quite a lot of research in the background... he knows that Briony isn't all that interested in doing any deep dives herself, but doesn't really understand that on an intellectual level. If it were him, he'd stop at nothing until he knew... Anyway, he's going to dig up as much as he can and just hold it in private in case the day ever comes that it could come in handy for her!
Chase: honestly, although he's sympathetic to Briony, there's also something kind of freeing about the idea of having amnesia? Of having the opportunity to start over, completely unburdened by the chains, burdens, and traumas of the past, and to create a new life entirely on your own terms? It's not like he envies her, but he can see ways in which it's not as bad as it might seem at first glance!
Red: he's pretty much in Riel's boat, but is more respectful of Briony's privacy LOL he's intensely curious about her origins, but won't pry unless she asks him to! Mostly he's focused in helping her re-learn magic and is kind of her tutor to keep her brushed up on lessons she may have "forgotten", and very patiently explains common cultural ideas or concepts that she's ignorant of. He's kind of fascinated by the idea of an adult Mage having no memory of how to formally use magic but still being able to wield it anyway, and is low-key keeping extensive notes about muscle memory, mnemonics, and etc.!
Ayla: she doesn't think too much about it, honestly! To her, Briony is Briony: the fact that she doesn't remember much about her past doesn't really have any bearing to her? 🤷🏻♀️ She feels a vague sense of protectiveness towards her, like the idea that one day her past might come back to reclaim her/take her away from the Shepherds, and Ayla's not going to let that happen easily lol, she's theirs now!!
Lavinet: she's sympathetic, but to her, Briony's amnesia is a small aspect of her and their friendship, so she doesn't think too much about it, especially because Briony herself prefers not to dwell or talk about it very much! I think the idea of being captured and held as a slave while having amnesia was more horrifying to her than having amnesia itself!
Halek: he like barely remembers Briony has amnesia because she acts so normal and chipper on a daily basis that it's easy to forget, honestly lol! When he does remember, it's like "huh. you know, that would be a bummer if I couldn't remember [x]" but other than that, it's not much of a thought to him because Briony herself doesn't really make it a big deal!
Hope that all makes sense!

HAVE YOU READ THE BONUS CHAPTER!? I NEED YOUR THOUGHTS!
Bonus Chapter Spoilers Ahead in regards to the ACOTAR characters:
I think the bonus really highlighted the friendship that seems to continue building between Az and Nesta. In it we see Az apologize for his snapping at her which is a big deal for his character as he's one to usually sulk and brood rather than owning up to his behavior. And I think that's all very important when you consider Gwyn and Nesta are best friends (along with Emerie) and Cassian and Az are best friends. So a relationship between Gwynriel with a beautiful friendship between Nesta and Az is a pretty perfect setup.
I also think it shows Az and Nesta still haven't fully learned their lesson about undermining Elain considering Nesta talks of how she and her sister were made fae by the King and Az immediately follows that up with how the king was defeated and Nesta beheaded him, with Nesta responding how he had it coming.
No shade to Nesta but she continues telling this story on repeat whenever it's brought up as if she did something brag worthy on her own when it's being conveniently left out that she owes Elain her own and Cassian's life. How seconds before Nesta beheaded him, Elain stopped him from killing them by putting a blade through his throat, making it possible for Nesta to behead him.
It's fine for them to claim Nesta stopped him from taking another breath but it's not fine for them to act like she did something dangerous or heroic or difficult. I used this metaphor before but it's like my husband taking a cake out of the oven once the timer goes off and him taking credit for baking it even though I spent 30 minutes mixing the ingredients and putting into the oven in the first place.
Nesta and Az don't even need to say "Elain" stabbed him if they're trying to avoid specifics but they could say, after someone stopped him from harming Nesta, she was able to finish him off but they both act as if it was really all Nesta's doing.
It's not that I hate Az or Nesta for this fact, I do acknowledge that SJM keeps pushing this narrative because she's trying to make the point that Elain isn't valued in the NC, that they either still try to protect her in a way that hinders her growth or they just can't admit to themselves that maybe she doesn't need them in the way they're desperate to be needed because being someones protector gives them a sense of self worth. But it's become almost comical how many times SJM has give their character chances to acknowledge the parts Elain played in the war yet neither does.
Also, I think it's clear Az is still salty about not having a mating bond, 7 months after the events of Solstice. To me, that doesn't mean he has feelings for Elain but wants his own mating bond, something that he in canon does not have with anyone that we know of. Which is fine, all the ACOTAR males had wanted a mating bond because they grew up realizing what a special thing it was. But I think anyone trying insist that he'd be happy with Elain knowing she has a bond with someone else is an argument they'll lose in the end. I think E/riel ended on Solstice but even if there was something still there, I believe he'd always wonder if his mate was out there somewhere and that's not the kind of setup that ends well for anyone.
My final thought is that the E/riel theory that Az's shadows work off "firstlight" is ridiculous considering the battery of Bryce's phone died and it was Az humming to himself that caused the shadows to dance. And the kind of music he preferred was what he called "pleasure hall" music to which Bryce replied "are you a club rat".
Music has never been a part of Elain's arc. She likes balls, for sure but I can almost bet that the dancing and music of a ball are much different than that of a pleasure hall. Does Gwyn like the pleasure hall scene? No clue but we do know that Nesta and Feyre mention Elain herself never frequented the bar scene. And it cannot be denied that SJM created a very obvious parallel between the end of his bonus in SF, what with Az's shadows singing in answer to Gwyn's singing and the end of the HOFAS bonus, with his shadows dancing along to his own humming.
I still don't think that means Az's books being next is a certainty. Music preferences and bitterness over a lack of a canon mating bond are still not relevant to where things left off in Silver Flames (the issues with Koschei, Beron, Spring, the treaty).
I think SJM is continuing to build up who Az is so that anyone who does read across her series will have a better idea of his character when it's time for his book, whether it's after Elucien or before, but that buildup continues putting him farther away from Elain and closer to Gwyn as his endgame.

For no particular reason here is some important, totally canon MHA lore courtesy of Smash:
The support course makes most of the stuff for the hero course including comedy props and robotic copies of the staff.
UA occasionally lets people who want to apply there watch classes and even take part in Hero Course lessons.
Momo can perfectly copy others' behaviour if she tries, can stop her lungs at will and is a magnificent opera singer.
Competitive baseball ceased existing after the dawn of quirks but Ochako is a fan anyway.
Fighting game combos are real but only Ochako can do them because her quirk lets her replicate weird physics engine bs.
Bakugo is an expert cook and baker but is also too scary to be asked about it. He's also a pretty good life coach, a favourite of local kids and one of the better rescuers on the team (according to Aizawa)
Endeavor is the most awkward motherfucker on the planet
Mt. Lady wasn't allowed to take hero courses due to her quirk but still decided to be one with some remedial courses to inspire other people with "volatile" quirks. This was a very mixed success.
Disney doesnt exist anymore but its remnant company is still an ass about copyright.
Izuku has a shitton of stuff about Katsuki in his notebooks and made multiple copies of it to hand out/in case they explode. He's also a cat's cradle expert.
The class is generally pretty good at improvised group dances.
All Might drafted up an anime about his life back in his early career and apparently it's Bad.
Midnight has a shonen rivalry fetish.
Shoto has used Half Hot before the Sports Fest but only in love doses and exclusively to attract cats. He also likes hunting bugs a lot (with a similar tactic) and doesn't know how mosquitos work.
Mic knows Muai Tai and wants to show it off really badly.
13's outfit is apparently a uniform UA just has on hand for Reasons.
Gonna respond to these individually so:
Love that! I've actually discussed before on the same wavelength of how the Support Course would be best suited to learn alongside Hero Students so they can see practical applications! I'd like more if they worked together a bit and/or the support students got classes where they just watch the Hero Training classes and take notes.
Honestly being allowed to check out potential schools you apply to does make sense.
Girl has many talents
how do you lose competitive baseball of all things? Like don't get me wrong I have little love for baseball, but why would it go away?
Ochako is best. Just fuckin. That's hilarious.
Katsuki being good at cooking is great but also being good with children? If a hero career never works out then housewife is a great option. (but also something something 'character with abrasive personality and power that's default dangerous and destructive also being one of the best with soft things that take patience like food and children)
This one? Beautiful. He's a loser. I love him.
It seems some bullshit that she wasn't allowed to take Hero Classes like. She can make a good Hero! And while her Quirk application is somewhat niche, it's not out of the realm of being needed. Hell, between her debut scene being fighting a giant villain therefore matching him in size, and the fact that this is a world where things like giant robots can exist, she's def needed. Like yeah she- she needs to learn to be a bit better about property damage but if she'd had gone to one of the schools and had experienced Heroes coaching her, that learning curve would be fantastic.
Disney will be Disney lmao
Izuku. Honey. I love you but that's a bit stalker-y and I would not be surprised if Katsuki blasts you into oblivion for that.
The gang is just all sharing a brain cell
All Might is also a fucking loser I love him.
I 100% think that all Heroes just have something for the shonen rivalry thing because like. Just. You need a close friend you can have a rivalry with to push each other to be the best you can be and then also spar with one another and oh hey getting pinned down like this is kinda hot ain't it? Every Hero has a 'type' and it's 'someone who will be affectionate but also throw me through a wall'.
Shoto using his fire to make himself warm and attract cats is fucking hilarious like baby!!!
Also a fucking loser I love him
That's hilarious actually

What do you think of the argument that Zuko continues to be arrogant and prideful in Book 3? I'm sure you've seen this post already, but I just wanted to know your thoughts on this. These are their words.
"Late Book 3.5 Zuko has changed significantly, but he can still be very arrogant, prideful, bitter, or hostile(some examples).* He continues to even sometimes put others down. He most certainly wasn’t obligated to let go of his bitterness toward those he felt hurt him. The idea that Ozai’s abuse someone made Zuko “less bitter” seems insane to me."
OP brought up the line in The Firebending Masters where Zuko says they can take them in a fight because they're the fire prince and the Avatar. Then they brought up Zuko saying he could take Azula in a fight in the finale to prove that he's still arrogant. Also, an example they used for the put others down thing is the infamous "air temple preschool" line. And to prove he's still violent and hostile, they pointed to him attacking Aang in the finale. I was taking a break from Azula stan insanity, but this argument pulled me out of retirement.
There's an obvious difference between excessive pride driven by a selfish need to be better than others and pride in oneself and one's accomplishments as a virtue.
And I would argue, and have argued before, that Zuko's arc has a lot to do with distinguishing that difference, as an abuse victim who was repeatedly told that his only sense of worth was tied to his abuser.
Zuko convincing Aang to see things through and that they could face whatever challenges might be coming is what allowed them to face the dragons. Without that, they would never have been judged worthy to begin with because they would have run away before they got the chance.
Getting rid of excessive pride and arrogance does not mean becoming a doormat. It also doesn't mean you stop being angry at people who deserve your anger. That's also a big lesson of "The Southern Raiders" that Katara learned as well. She didn't forgive her mother's murderer, and she'll never stop being angry at the man who killed her. And she doesn't need to do that. That was what Zuko was objecting to that Aang was preaching, and he knew that Katara didn't need to forgive because he himself knows what it's like to carry that anger which he probably will carry for the rest of his life. But that's okay. Ozai certainly deserves Zuko's anger and bitterness and probably more than that, because I'd argue that Zuko is way more forgiving than he deserves. The important thing is that Zuko is not directing that anger outward anymore at people who don't deserve it. It doesn't mean he never gets angry or he never disagrees with anyone about anything, it means that he's not trying to hurt himself or others anymore.
But trying to muddle that difference is a gaslighting technique that abusers use so I am not surprised that that person would use it.
But the thing about excessive pride is that it also makes you cowardly. Zuko has the confidence to face the dragons but he also knows that this means he has to submit himself to their judgment, and that is an inherently humbling experience that takes confidence to face. The same thing with fighting Azula, which, by the way, he is not doing for fun or his own benefit. He's doing it to save the world, and he's confident enough to know he can face her but humble enough to admit he can't do it on his own. These things show that he's learned how to find balance in his life, neither becoming overcome with excessive pride or becoming excessively timid or insecure, and that's a GOOD thing.

To celebrate the NaruHinaWedding event, I wrote a drabble about a conversation between Boruto, Himawari and Hinata. They are asking about Hinata's love life. The anime displayed a scene of Hinata reminiscing about her love life. From a crush to someone qualified enough to support Naruto. In this drabble, I want to elaborate more into details about her feelings and the lessons she learned in pursuit of happiness.
"I'm home!" Boruto shouted as he ran his way to the living room.
"Mum, I'm hungry! What's for dinner?" He asks.
"Sit down. Wash your hands first or you won't have dinner. I've roasted chicken mixed with black pepper and corn soup."
"Yay! Where is Hima?" Boruto enquires, as he washes his hand at the sink.
"I'm here! I've just finished my mission with Yuina and Ehou!" Himawari helps her mother to put the dishes into some bowls as soon as she arrives.
"Eh... new mission, huh? What did you do Hima? I bet it's a mission about finding missing cat, cleaning the chickens' coops or guiding a VIP's safety..." Boruto displays his bored face while belittling his sister's mission. He used to complain the missions he got and this laid back personality of his also led to him in trouble.
"Nope. None of those. It's a mission to find rare herbs; Matucoldi. It is actually a mission requested by aunt Sakura and she chose our team because of our ability. Well, to be honest I didn't know why she chose me as a temporary team leader at first. I know Yuina is a knowledgeable student. She studied a lot about herbs and animals. Her resourcefulness helped us a lot. Ehou, on the other hand acted without thinking sometimes but he is great in combat. As for me... I cannot really control my Byakugan yet and my taijutsu isn't as great as Ehou. During the mission, I realised that one of my redeeming qualities is my quick thinking which coincides with the situation and the spirit to never give up. We managed to retrieve the herbs successfully in the end. Of course, we needed to involve ourselves in a fight but with teamwork, we did it!"
"Wow.. Hima, looks like you're going to be a cool shinobi just like me!" Boruto laughs, after listening to Himawari's detailed explanation regarding her mission.
"Hey! I don't want to be like you, onii-chan. You always made other people worry and you never communicate your inner feelings. I'm going to be someone honest in the future and that includes taking care of you!"
"Hey! I'm the big one here. I was born first. I am supposed to be the one who protects you!" Boruto rebutts Himawari's statements.
"Hush.. hush! Okay, stop it. Stop the fight or you both won't be having dinner." Hinata puts down a big bowl of corn soup on the table and look at her children with a scary expression.
"Ok.. okay.." Botg Himawari and Boruto reply in unison.
Hinata laughs and sit next to Himawari.
"You know what, mum.. sometimes I wonder how dad is able to marry you. I mean.. you could've find better men out there. You cooked all these delicious dishes only for him to rush back to the Hokage's office again," Boruto conplained.
"But, he did... came home right? He tried his best to be a great father for both of you. He always tried his best, despite working for the village. Without him, we won't be living peacefully now. He even tried to be an inspiring figure for Kawaki. Speaking of him.. where is he?"
"Well, he said he had something to deal with. I don't know. For me, dinner is more important. I'll find out sooner or later anyway," Boruto responds.
"Mama! We want to listen your story before you meet papa! You refused to tell us before!" Himawari looks at her mother with an eager expression.
"Er, well.. I've told you before about how clumsy and rash he was before, right? Your father is still the same old him even after having 2 children. I always liked him in secrecy. Once, I tried to release the chakra draining rods from him even after beaten up by Pain. Pain is one of the akatsuki members, by the way. You learned that in your school right?"
"Akat.. akatsuki? The same Pain who destroyed Konoha? I've learned it before during class.. and we had that particular moment described in our text book. There's a girl mentioned in the text book. The one who tried to save the Hokage.. but I didn't know it was you, mum! Wow! Why didn't you let your name known in the text book? I could've boasted about it!" Boruto proudly shows his enthusiasm about the new fact he acknowledged.
Hinata chuckles. "No. I prefer a quiet life. I don't really care about fame and being a legend. To me, being happy is enough. Taking care of my kids is enough. Supporting my husband is enough. I don't need more in life. Your father nearly gave up his ninja way when we were in the middle of war. However, I managed to gain his strength. Even when my beloved cousin who's like a brother to me, Neji passed away at that time, I tried to calm myself down. As a shinobi, you can never express your emotions willingly. Yes, it's hard but that's the reason why it is important to be strong not just by physical but also by heart. After the war, we visited each other's house. He would ask for my help because he needed to study more if he wants to become a Hokage. Sometimes, I brought food. Did you know that he was once an avid hater of vegetables? Well, it takes an impressive cooking skill to mesh the vegetables well with meats so that the taste will become delectable."
Boruto and Himawari look at their mother's loving facade. She has a soft expression whenever she reminisces about her past life. She looks like a maiden in love, not someone who was married and gave birth to 2 kids.
Hinata continues to describe her love life. " I learned so much from your father. He taught me to grow in my own pace and be brave, despite what the circumstances are. We became closer without even noticing it. Sometimes, we trained together. There were rumours circulating that we were in a relationship but we ignored it. Your father was too dense about love and at that time, I'm sure he thought of me as a friend. Not more. I was still a bit timid even after war because the idea of being in a relationship with your crush is too good to be true. So in the end, we just led a life without even acknowledging our feelings.
Then, years passed by and we're finally 18. A lot of things changed. Your aunt, Hanabi was kidnapped by a descendant of Hamura Otsusuki. He needed the byakugan to acquire the Tenseigan created from his ancestors' sealed eyes. He proposed me so I had to accept it in order to save Hanabi. Your father was utterly heart-broken upon knowing it and I did try to explain just for a while but my I believed he could manage himself. He's a strong shinobi who used to lead the war. My goal at that time was to save your aunt. She's still a child. Long story short, we managed to defeat Toneri. Your father was super romantic when he finally understood his feelings for me. With one hand, he released a big rasengan and flew under the moon's silhouette. Well, after that.. I couldn't tell you."
"What? You kissed don't you? Papa kissed mama!" Himawari teased her mother.
"Woah really? I didn't know dad can be so romantic! He's a fool for not being able to know his true feelings." Boruto laughs.
"It's not his fault. He was alone for so many years. He worked hard to gain acknowledgement from other villagers. He didn't have anyone to talk to him about this matter. As for me, I'm happy if he's happy. I did get jealous once, when he was popular with the girls due to his popularity. I thought the scarf given to him was from one of the girls so I hid the scarf I've knitted for him. It turns out that it was actually from his mother. In a way, I was in the wrong too. We both are. Being in a relationship means that both of us stand in an equal footing. We vowed to cherish each other through thick and thin. To support each other and to communicate our inner feelings. No more skirting lies while leaving the truths half-told."
"Aww.. I want to have a beautiful love story like mama too, when I grow up later.. but so far I don't like anyone in class..." Himawari gushes her mother's love tale while gazing at her mother's embarrassed face.
"Heh.. I don't know if I will ever get married.. I want to enjoy my single life to eternity.. but having someone who can understand you for who you are is rare..." Boruto's eyes narrow with such focus, as if thinking about someone who could match his description.
"I'm home!" Naruto's voice can be heard at the door.
Boruto and Himawari run and hug him instantly.
"Okay.. what happen?" Naruto is confused.
"Dad.. you're a cool guy huh?" Boruto teased him.
"Daddy! You are so sweet!" Himawari joins her brother.
"What? What's going on? Hinata, what's going on? Did something peculiar happen?" Naruto tries to ask for explanation but Hinata refuses to look him in the eye.
"No... Nothing happened! Any.. anyway, why did you get home so soon?" Hinata helps her husband to untie the Hokage robe.
Naruto is puzzled. "I thought you like it when I'm home?"
Hinata is speechless. Usually, she won't be flustered as she was used to her role as a wife but somehow, the prior engagement with her children makes her embarrassed. She regrets expressing her love towards her husband in front of her children. Pretty sure they're going to tease her further.
"Well, anyway... do you know that there's a new record for ramen eating competition? I did it! I managed to defeat your past record!"
Shocked, Hinata scrutinizes her eyes. "What? How? You never managed to defeat me before! Did you cheat?"
"Hey, I didn't cheat okay? Well, it won't make me a real man if you always win. Did you still remember your promise if I win?"
"Hima.. is this really our "cool" father? Why is he being childish all the time." Boruto asks, with an incredulous look on his face.
"I'm pretty sure it's just papa being papa. He never shows this side of him in front of other villagers. He usually brings out his inner child when he's with mama."
"I.. of course I remember. I promised to accompany you on a date to an expensive restaurant. That was ages ago! You're a rich man now." Hinata laughs, as she remembers her promise to Naruto.
"It'll just be the 2 of us. No kids allowed."
"Okay. Okay. Gosh, you're so funny, Naruto-kun."
"I'm curious though. What were you talking about just now?" Naruto asks.
Hinata tries to suppress her embarrassment by controlling her face expression. "Huh.. nothing okay? I was just talking about how cool you were when you brought me to the moon. There, happy now?"
It was Naruto's turn to be embarrassed. "What kind of conversation was that? You shouldn't tell the about that. It's not fair!"
"Well, I did say that I was so in love with you. It's fair." Hinata fights back.
"I'm home..."
All of them look at the owner's voice. Turns out, it's Kawaki. Kawaki is confused at the weird atmosphere as he walks into the dining room.
"Dinner is served and you guys aren't eating? The food is going to get cold. What happen? Why do you have that ugly and strange grin on your face Boruto?"
"Ugly you say? You're the ugly one! Wanna fight?" Boruto stands up.
"Hush! Okay, okay. Let's eat now. Kawaki, wash your hands first. Honey, as a punishment you must massage my shoulders tonight."
Naruto almost faint when he heard that Hinata called him "honey". She only said that when both of them are not in front of their kids. Looks like he can never win the war with his own wife.
