It's taking me ages to write this chapter because every time I look through old VODs / notes to check something, I come across moments like this that make me want to lie down face-first on the floor:
[Context: Pac commits to the idea of taking the Happy Pills so he can create a cure. He's about to write a note to Cellbit to explain his plan.]
Pac: If Cellbit puts himself in this position, it's worse for everyone, because Cellbit is smarter when it comes to coming up with strategic plans, so he is the thinking mind of the Favela Five group, so if he no longer has the mind, he’s not capable of solving this whole problem, you know? But if I put myself in this position to help Cellbit so he can get the cure... You understand? It's better if I'm the bait. Right? I can't- I can't carry things alone guys, I've already lost Mike [...] if I lose Cellbit and I alone had to carry things, I won't be able to. But I think Cellbit can manage better. He is more independent, and he has Roier. He has a husband. I'm trying to– to be lucid here, understand? That's all.
Date: September 11, 2023 || Timestamp: 03:10:10
#i talk#qsmp talk#Oh Pac... :((((#I know the Happy Pills arc is soured for a lot of us (for valid reasons) but I still love it because of how vital it is to Pac's character#This arc is what solidified him as my favorite character. He was so brave and he's so full of love and grief#Aghh. Those self-worth issues man... :(((#Pac cubito I carry you in my heart forever and ever and always#fic talk#I don't know if it's funny or miserable that whenever I fact-check myself thinking#''Am I misremembering this / misrepresenting this? Is this too grim?''#The answer is no I hit it dead center#I love Pac's dynamic with all the Favela members but Pac and Cellbit's relationship dynamic has so many layers#it's fascinating to explore#Especially since in the stream before this he had a complete breakdown because he was terrified Cell was going to come back#Love and fear and friendship and anger and hate and healing...#So many layers#The murderer who once mauled him who he left to die#Now a dear friend and co-parent of his son#It's fascinating#What breaks my heart is when Cellbit finds out Pac took the Happy Pills a few days later and they have a confrontation#Cellbit tells him ''You were my only hope- the only scientific person who could create a cure; how are we supposed to save you?''#''We still had one another and now I'm alone!'' <– As always please take my translation with a grain of salt#But man. MAN.... Pac saying Cellbit will be fine he can handle things on his own and he has Roier#vs. Cellbit having the same fears of being left alone#I wonder if; even for a moment; he remembered what it felt like when Pac (e Mike) abandoned him on that Island after Fuga#Obviously he realized / later learned why Pac took the pills but AGH!!!!!!!!!! It hurts.#I wish they logged on at the same time more frequently I WISH we got to see them interact more#I can't really explore this too much in the Fit Pac fic but I am delving into it in the Pac fic#I don't think I'll go as in-depth with the Happy Pill stuff as I'm doing in this fic though. This has been exhausting. It's a heavy arc#(Stream date: September 13 2023 || Timestamp 1:34:00 for Cellbit's POV of that conversation btw)

The Tie That Binds Us — Chapter Fifteen (Trials And Tribulations)
Summary: Harper and Olivia face challenges as the trial begins, testing the bond they’ve built. As tensions rise, they find comfort in each other, and a little reassurance from a friend.
Word Count: 1,455
Tags: Some angst and some fluff
As March arrived, Harper was reminded of history class and the Ides of March. It felt apt for the two of them. Not so much that they were about to be repeatedly stabbed in the back as Caesar had, at least not in a literal sense, but with the trial mere days away, Harper knew there’d be a lot of hard times coming their way. Yet even before their relationship had taken on a more romantic nature, they still would have had one another to help endure this. Now, Harper hoped, with that extra layer between them, they’d get through this and come out the other side stronger.
On the first day of the trial, Olivia had left early, before Harper had even gotten out of bed, as she had awoken to an empty house, but she didn’t mind. It gave her time to clear her head and prepare herself for the day to come. She wanted to look nice, but not overly bright and cheery, as that certainly didn’t reflect her mood, nor that of the case they were bringing against her former school. So, she rifled around in her closet and reached for a black dress with a white collar and a stitched on sunflower belt. She didn’t wear it often, but for today it felt fitting, somber, yet hopeful.
As she looked over her choice in the mirror, she heard the front door open. Olivia was back. She went out to greet her, and saw her in a fitted blue dress, so unlike her usual style, yet that wasn’t the aspect of Olivia that truly gave her pause. It was her hair. She’d gotten it cut off. It even looked darker, though she didn’t think she’d actually had it dyed.
Olivia caught Harper staring at her, mouth slightly agape. "Hair holds memories," Olivia explained, as if she felt she had to justify her choice. "I thought now was as good a time as any to start fresh."
"You don’t have to explain yourself," Harper reasoned, getting over her initial surprise. "It’s different, but it’s nice. I just didn’t expect such a change, that’s all."
A momentary silence fell between them, before Olivia sighed. "Are you ready for today," she asked, stepping forward to adjust the collar of Harper's dress.
"I think so. Ready as I’ll ever be, I guess. What about you?"
Olivia shrugged, her hand still on Harper's collar. She looked like she was ready to cry, and no doubt that by the end of the day, they both will have done their fair share. "I’ll be okay," she finally said.
"We both will," Harper agreed. "Though I do have a question. It’s not exactly relevant, but should it come up…can I call you my girlfriend now? Not that I really talk to anyone but Tony. Maybe Clay. I just didn’t want to—"
Olivia squeezed her hand, causing her to pause. "Yes. You can call me your girlfriend if you’re comfortable with that. I don’t have to remind you what happened with your locker though, do I?"
"No, I know. I’m not planning on making a loudspeaker announcement on it, I just wanted to know what was appropriate."
Olivia cracked a smile, and Harper vowed to commit it to memory, because it may be the last one she gets for a while, maybe even until this all was over.
The courtroom was a dreary place. They could feel the weight of it's high ceilings as if they were crushing down on them, and the tension in the room before the trial had even begun was the furthest thing from comforting.
Harper sat beside Olivia, their hands joined at their sides, hidden from the prying eyes of lawyers, jurors, and Liberty High staff in attendance. As the trial commenced, the grip between them was tight, not just for comfort but for survival.
Each witness called to the stand added another layer of pain, another reminder of why they were here. Harper had watched Olivia hold herself together through it all, through the depositions, and the reopening of wounds that had barely begun to scab over. She admired her resilience, but she also saw the exhaustion pooling beneath her eyes, the weight of grief pressing into her shoulders.
As yet another Liberty High administrator fumbled through their excuses, Harper risked a glance at Olivia. Her jaw was tight, her lips pressed together as if she were physically holding back the rage that simmered just beneath the surface. Harper wanted to reach out, to press a kiss to Olivia's temple, to promise her that justice was coming, even if it felt like an impossibility. But she could only squeeze her hand tighter, hoping the gesture spoke for her.
Outside the courthouse, the world didn't pause for their grief. Harper had known this would happen. From the moment their relationship became something more than a need for comfort, more than the occasional overnight visit, she knew people would have opinions. Olivia was older. Olivia was Hannah's mother. Olivia was still wrapped in a grief so thick that some people couldn't understand how she could find love, let alone with someone like Harper.
Luckily for Harper, she had Tony to unburden herself to. "I heard some girls whispering about us today," Harper told him, referring, of course, to her and Olivia, as she shoved her hands into her jacket pockets. "They were saying it's sick. That I must have some kind of 'mommy issues'."
"You do. I know your mother, but that’s not what this is. I can’t say I fully understand it, and you don’t need to hear it from me, but I know you’ve found something real. Olivia, she looks lighter than she has since I’ve known her, and you've found a confidence that used to be so unlike you. You’ve changed each other for the better, at least from my perspective."
She looked at him then, seeing the steady certainty in his eyes. Tony had always been the kind of friend who didn't waste words, who saw things as they were and called them out.
Tony hesitated before adding, "You good?"
Harper thought about the trial, about Olivia's exhaustion, about the way her former classmates' words had lingered longer than she wanted to admit. Then she thought about Olivia's hand in hers, the way they fit together despite everything, and nodded.
"I will be."
Tony nodded, satisfied with the answer. "Good. Cause I've got your back if you need me. Both of you."
A week later and it was the night before Olivia was slated to testify and Harper found her sitting at the kitchen table, staring at an untouched cup of tea.
"Can't sleep," Harper asked gently.
Olivia exhaled, shaking her head. "I can’t stop going over what I'll say."
Harper slid into the chair beside her, reaching out instinctively. Olivia let her take her hand, let her trace slow circles over her knuckles.
"You're not doing this alone," Harper reminded her.
Olivia let out a shaky breath, finally looking at her. "I know," she whispered.
"You need your rest. Have you even tried to go to bed?"
"Not yet," she admitted.
"Come on then. You can’t get any sleep if you’re not even trying." Harper got up and tugged lightly on Olivia's arm, a gentle gesture to get her to come along. Olivia looked like she might crash before Harper was able to walk her to her bedroom, but she was bound and determined to try, for the sake of Olivia's health if nothing else.
Finally, the trudge was made and Harper pulled back the covers to let Olivia in, folding them back over once she’d made herself comfortable. "Don’t go," Olivia muttered. It sounded like half a question and half a statement. They hadn’t shared a bed yet, but Harper wasn’t even considering that as she softly promised not to leave. Olivia needed her, so there she’d be.
As the days continued to roll on, the mental toll was wearing on them both. There had been no clear indications on what the verdict may be, and the stress of potentially losing their case and not seeing any sort of justice for Hannah had been hanging over their heads, until finally the day was here. March twenty third. The day their world came crashing down. The jury declared that the school was not responsible for Hannah's death, and Olivia broke down crying. Harper had ushered her out of the courthouse immediately, dodging several reporters gathered outside as she got Olivia to the car. She drove them home, balancing her concern for Olivia with keeping a watchful eye on the road. As for her own tears, well, they could come later.

#4.1 Lost & found
Grace was exhausted, but sleep still didn't come easy. It was his first night on the second floor, and it had been about a week since he last had Khun by his side.
Wearing Khun's clothes helped to trick his mind, but it could only do so much to ease his anxiety.
Grace summoned his pocket and dialed Khun's number, as he had done for the past nights. It rang a few times, and Grace braced himself for another missed call.
He shot up from his bed when he heard a familiar voice call his name.
"...Bam?"
"Oh my goodness!" Grace clutched his pocket in disbelief, "Khun!"
"Bam!" Grace could hear a choked sound from the other end, and Khun's voice had gone a little wet. "Oh, Bam, you're here, thank God. I thought–"
I thought I would never see you again. Grace completed the sentence in his mind.
"I found you," Grace whispered. His eyes stung with unshed tears, and the heavy weight in his heart finally lifted. "I finally found you."
"You found me."
There was an unmistakable smile and fondness on Khun's voice, and Grace let himself smile back. "I miss you."
"I miss you too," Khun whispered very softly, as if they were sharing a secret. It wasn't something he said often, after all. "I hope I can finally sleep better tonight. There’s a lot we need to discuss, but I'll save that for tomorrow."
Grace heard a yawn and caught himself doing the same. They wished each other goodnight and fell asleep with their call still connected.

Your last couple of weeks were pretty hard but finally, you gathered up all the courage to tell people what Bryce had done with you. You told your parents the night Clay came to visit you and gratefully your parents were incredibly supportive. They did not overreact at all and acted rationally with the situation. Though it was hard to control the testosterone energy of the group.
Everyone was filled with rage, but you never wanted to fight with violence, you complained about Bryce to the Principal, and he was given suspension and a probation order from the police. Days passed eventually and every day felt a little better and with Clay, by your side, you had a sense of relief.
You were back to practice and now all you focused on was the finals of the Basketball Tournament which was being hosted by your school this was the first time your school qualified for finals and providing the fact that this was the last game you will play with the team made it more important.
You reached school, today was important because it was the game night and you agreed to help Charlie with his plan of asking out Alex for the prom. Charlie had an overly sweet and romantic plan, he decorated the main hallway and Jessica, and you were supposed to hold a huge banner written “PROM?” on it, Charlie stood beside the banner with Alex’s favorite flowers in his hands.
Alex entered the hallway and gave an opposite reaction to what you guys were expecting, all you got from him was a sigh of disappointment. Alex was never a fan of cheesy romance but Charlie on the other hand was the king of cheesy romance.
“Oh, Alex! Enough with your tantrums, just say ‘yes’ already. If you don’t go, I will go with him” you say to Alex.
Alex chuckles and walks up to Charlie and says “If I will not go with you then with whom will I go, Charlie? You did not have to do all this. It is obvious that if I go, you will be my date.”
Charlie was still not satisfied and said “You did not answer my question. So, Alexander Dean Standall, will you be my date to the senior prom?”
“You’re lucky you’re adorable otherwise I would have dumped you a long time back, and Yes Charles Hayden Brixton St. George it would be an honor to be your date.” Charlie started deep into Alex’s eyes and gave him a sweet passionate kiss.
The school air was filled with promposals, and every room and every corridor was full of red roses and confetti.
“It sucks to see all these people happy when your boyfriend has not even asked you about prom yet,” said Jessica.
“He hasn’t yet? But aren’t you guys dating for like a couple of years now? Isn’t it obvious?” you asked.
“But still you know.”
You could hear the frustration in her voice. Making Jessica mad is one of the many things that you should never do in your life. To calm her down you said, “If Justin doesn’t ask then I’ll go with you because Nerd hasn’t asked me yet too.”
“Yes, screw the boys, they are of no use”.
After your fourth period, you were supposed to go to the gym and get ready for the game tonight. Before going you met Clay to see him for the last time before the evening.
“Sup Nerd?”
“Hey, you look pretty happy. Excited about the game?”
“Yeah, more like nervous but yeah excited too. Anyways I’ll go for the practice so see you at the game?”
“My fifth is free so I can hang around longer.”
“Good, you can help me stretch” you winked at him.
“Nah, you can do it. If a coach sees me then he will make me exercise too.”
“Okay then, I’ll just ask Zach to help.” You say teasing him and starting to walk away.
“No Y/N wait, I’ll be there. I will just keep my stuff in the locker, okay?”
You smile at his innocence and proceed toward the gym. When you enter the gym, you see Justin standing beside one of the machines. You walk up to him and say, “Hey Justy, we have a problem.”
“What? What is it Y/N?”
“You have not asked your girlfriend yet to be your date to the senior prom.”
“Holy shit, just tell the coach I’ll be right back” While saying this Justin ran out of the gym as fast as he could panicking. That was the effect Jessica had on him. As the gym was almost empty you hear your coach and principal having a conversation in the coach’s office. You go there and knock on the door.
“Y/N, good you are here. We want your opinion on something.” Said the Coach.
“Yes sir, what is it?”
“Umm, Principal thinks that we should not let play Bryce today’s game. I know it is not easy for you to play with him, but still, what do you think?”
You turn to the principal and say “Uh sir, Coach is right. Whatever he did to me shall not come in between the game we are going to play. We cannot let it ignore the fact that he is one of the best players we have on the team that can guarantee a win. I think we should let him play, otherwise sir, it is your call.”
Principal Bolan was convinced by your point, and it was true that above everything it was more important to win the trophy for the school.
The decisive moment arrived. All the Liberty Tigers gathered in the locker room and Justin gave a pre-match motivating speech as his duty as the captain. Everyone was filled with a desire to win the goddamn match and show the opposite team who the Liberty Tigers are. The cheerleading squad did their segment before the game began.
After that, both the teams entered the basketball court to start the battle. You found it hard to admit but the other team was playing too well which made the chance of the Liberty Tigers winning less.
As you looked at the crowd who came to watch the game, you caught Clay’s eyes which were gleaming at you. He raised both his thumbs to cheer you up and you turned your focus back to the game after a five-minute break.
While Clay was attentively watching the game Tyler approached him with the camera. He was taking pictures for the yearbook and went up to Clay to say ‘hi.’
“Clay! Hi! Since when you started liking sports?”
“Oh, hey Tyler. Uh I am here for Y/N”.
“Yeah, I get it. She is pretty hot, isn’t she? And when she plays”
“Um, bro she is my girlfriend.”
There was an awkward silence between the two, but Tyler had to make it worse and asked with disbelief “Really?” Clay simply nodded to Tyler’s question and Tyler shrugged and went to a different location to take pictures.
It was halftime and the score was 20-15 and your team was losing. Everybody went inside the locker room to cool themselves down and discuss the strategy for the other half of the game. Justin was going to give another speech, but you cut him off by saying “Justin, can I take this?” Justin nodded in trust, and he let you speak.
“Guys, many of you think I do not belong on this team. But today the game is not about me or you or the school. It is about the fact that this is our last game together before we graduate. Now, will it not be better if we win that goddamn trophy in our last game rather than losing to some private school that think they are better than everyone. So, let us play. Let us play for that sportsmen spirit inside us which will not take losing as an option.” You stretched out your hand and made eye contact with Zach “So...”
Zach cut you off, said, “Whatever it takes?” and put his hand on your hand.
“No, let’s kick some ass”.
Everyone held hands and unity and said in unison, “Let’s kick some ass.”
Everyone went back to the court filled with new energy and you did kick all the asses. Your team won by 35-28. In excitement, the whole team lifted you on their shoulders as you were the lightest and made a round of the whole court. Principal Bolan announced the winner and handed over the trophy to the team. After giving his speech of gratitude you asked him for the mic.
The audience was still cheering as you said “Thank you all for your support, now I wanted to say something. This guy in this crowd is supposed to be my boyfriend and hasn’t asked me to the prom yet. So, I thought why not make this big gesture and ask him myself.” The crowd started cheering with anticipation. Hearing this Clay was both embarrassed and confused. You continued “So Nerd, would you like to be my date to the prom?”
Clay climbed down from the audience stand and started walking towards you. You gave the mic to Justin and ran towards him. You looked at him with hope in your eyes. He held your hands and said, “Yes Y/N I’ll go with you to the prom.” He kissed your forehead, and you hugged him with excitement. While you hugged him you realized that he was not hugging you back. You said, “Clay, you should hug me back otherwise it will be very awkward.”
Clay struggled to speak “Yeah, I will if you leave my hands free.” You let go of him you both laughed at your stupidity. Clay hugged you firmly and the entire crowd started cheering for your courage.

13 Reasons to Tickle Part 5
Clay’s phone vibrates as he’s getting off his bike at school. He slips it out of his pocket on his way in, glances to see a text from Justin and opens it.
Ur so fucked
His face flushes as he’s caught between confusion and anger. He and Justin aren’t friends...not really...maybe a tiny bit. Justin invites himself over from time to time, sometimes to sleep for an afternoon on the couch in Clay’s room, other times to play video games. He’s also started tutoring the other boy and unlike Jeff to whom tickling is a reward, he’s taken to using it as a threat to Justin who will usually try to avoid it. Pinning down Justin’s feelings towards it are hard because he alternates between willingly offering his feet and trying his hardest to avoid the tickling. Whatever the case is, Clay makes the other teen take his sneakers off and hand over his phone at the start of tutoring to have a threat to refocus Justin and to take away the biggest distraction.
The text now, ominous and threatening, leaves him feeling like they’ve taken a step back and his hastily tapped out message demanding to know what’s going on is ignored.
He tries to find Justin before class but has no luck and almost texts Jeff to ask but decides not to; mostly because he runs out of time.
When he plops down into his seat for homeroom, he catches Zach’s eye from across the class and the Asian boy sports an interesting look, partly guilty, partly excited, and partly embarrassed. He has no idea what it means until Zach stretches his legs out and Clay’s breath stops in his mouth.
Two massive feet, clad only in Nike slides. Fuck. Zach’s toes spread out as if to tease him more. He spends the whole twenty minutes desperately trying not to watch. Zach doesn’t even do much! The taller boy just leaves his feet in plain view and occasionally flexes his toes but that’s it and worse, it doesn’t need to be anything else because Clay’s attention is fully on the beautiful feet in front of him and what he wants to do to them. Feathers between the toes, fingernails on the arches, a brush on the heels, all while drinking in the helpless laughter.
He can’t even go over and chew the other boy out because that would involve dealing with Monty and there is no way he can navigate a covert conversation with Zach with the aggressive boy there.
Twenty minutes stretches on for what feels like twice that time and when the bell rings and Zach disappears out the door before he can try catching the boy.
The first three periods pass normally but when the bell rings he finds himself more anxious because he shares fourth period with Justin and he has a slight feeling he knows what’s coming. He’s taken aback when Justin’s feet are fully clothed, granted in a nice pair of sneakers, but sneakered all the same. He reaches up to tap the other boy on the shoulder to say something but the teacher walks in and he can’t.
For the first ten or so minutes, he zones out as he listens to a monotone voice explain the ins and outs of photosynthesis. He almost falls asleep when movement catches his eye. In front of him, Justin pops a heel out of his sneaker...and then the other. He lets the sneakers dangle like that for a few seconds or so before his feet return to the ground.
Clay keeps watching; waiting for Justin to start up again but the other boy doesn’t.
Not until he almost resigns himself to total boredom. And then Justin pops a foot out of the sneaker completely. He’s wearing his baby blue tube socks and he uses the now socked foot to pop the other sneaker off and plants his toes on the floor but just his toes so that both soles are exposed looking right at Clay.
Fuck.
This isn’t fair! For the next fifteen minutes, Justin silently teases him. He flexes his toes, straining the socks, crosses them at the ankles, uses his toes to scratch the top of the other foot and rub his feet against each other. The worst comes right before the bell rings, as if the idiot hasn’t done enough to distract him, he watches as Justin casually leans down in his chair and scratches along his socked sole. Clay can see the little jump in his body as he accidentally tickles himself and wants nothing more than to reach down and grab a socked foot and remind him what real tickling is and remind him what a tease deserves. Justin pops his feet back into his sneakers right before the bell rings and gives Clay a wink as he slings his bag on before disappearing out the door and into the sea of people.
He sits down at the library table nervously. Zach and Justin were pains in the ass so he can only imagine what Jeff will do.
The jock slumps into the chair across from him, carelessly dropping his bag to the ground and Clay finds himself growling, “Whatever you have planned, don’t you dare.”
Jeff looks at him innocently with those big, brown eyes, “Planned?”
He huffs, not looking to play, “You know.”
A laugh, “I’m pretty sure I don’t and what’s why I’m here. You are the tutor, teach me!”
“No tricks?” He doesn’t really believe Jeff. This whole thing is something he’d come up with for fun.
“Tricks? You seem paranoid. What happened?”
Jeff sounds truly confused and he relaxes. Maybe he is overreacting. “Zach and Justin were being stupid. I thought you were in on it.”
“Being stupid how?”
He looks around quickly to make sure no one can hear and then lowers his voice just in case to whisper, “They were being teases.”
Jeff shakes his head. “Oh boy, what did they do?”
“Zach was only wearing slides and Justin kicked off his sneakers in class.”
“And they know your opinion on it?”
He snorts, “Justin knows, moron. I told him they deserve to be tickled and he still did this.”
“He’s not our brightest but maybe Zach didn’t know.”
“He made full eye contact.”
“Yea that sounds guilty. What are you going to do?”
“I tutor Justin Saturday I think, maybe I’ll let him know what I think of his stunt then, he isn’t allowed to wear sneakers in my house anyway. And Zach. I’ll figure something out. I haven’t had a shot at his feet since that first time in your basement.”
“Tools?”
“I’ve got some new brushes and a few other toys to use on them. They deserve it anyway.”
“I’m sure they’ll see it that way.”
He snorts, “By the time I’m done with them they will.”
With a grin Jeff’s whole demeanor changes as he says, “Sounds like fun, guess I should sign up!”
For about a second he’s shocked, and then looks under the table, two empty slides sit on the floor in front of Jeff’s chair. He follows the legs to the chair next to him where a beautiful pair of bare feet are propped up, one leg bent at the knee showing off a bare sole, across the cream colored sole is written, Happy Birthday! He wonders how badly it tickled to write that on and finds himself disappointed he missed it.
As if reading his mind Jeff fills in, “The sharpies was a bitch to use. I didn’t think you could tickle yourself but after all the pampering you’ve done on these puppies I don’t think it matters. Anyway, I had to go into the bathroom before I got here to do this and a damn near kicked the door putting it on!”
His mouth goes dry as he reaches for the foot, the talk of tickling making him desperately want some action himself. The attempt is thwarted when Jeff smirks and pulls his foot back.
“Sorry Clay, you get your presents later.”
His mouth goes dry as he tries to wrap his head around what just happened. Jeff continues talking.
“I know your birthday isn’t today. Sunday right? But today my parents are out tonight so you’re coming over like 5:30. And don’t be early. We need some time to get ready. The back door will be open so just come in when you get here but don’t you dare come down those stairs until 5:30 unless one of us texts you, I know you like being early.”
“Thank you.” His voice is harsh, rough. He feels a little guilty for being annoyed with the other two earlier.
“Don’t say thanks to me, Justin had the idea. I just told him when it was and then provided the place, well and a pair of feet. Poor Zachy isn’t too happy but Justin gave him the puppy dog eyes and he’s never been able to resist them.”
“I don’t know what to say.”
“Just wait till you see everything. Man I can’t wait, this is going to be great! In the meantime though, I do have the trig test coming up and I am super going to fail if you don’t help me.”
He shakes his head and tries to clear it but is only able to pull himself back when Jeff slips his feet from the chair and puts the temptations away.
Later that night, he arrives at Jeff’s house. He’s fifteen minutes early, which isn’t too bad considering he’s been thinking about this non-stop since the library. Letting himself in, he takes a seat on the couch and tries not to literally die as he waits. The minutes seem to move excruciatingly slowly but he finally gets a text to come down.
At the bottom of the stairs, the room opens up and he’s able to see the trio sitting on the couch. Their backs are to him but Justin, who’s on one end, twists around and says, “We’d come wish you a happy birthday but that would be a little hard.”
“What are you-” He rounds the piece of furniture and answers his own question. The coffee table is pulled up to the couch. Six socked feet rest on it. The socks have interesting designs on them making them look like wrapping paper while the ankles are tied up with ribbon into three big bows.
“Happy Birthday!” Three voices chorus together and six sets of toes flex as if also wishing him the same.
He stands there, shocked, until Justin prompts, “Well c’mon. We know what teases get.”
Taking a breath, he shakes himself and says, “This might be the best present ever. Three naughty jock boys all in need of a good punishment! After all we do know what teases get; they get tickles!”

Another installment of recs. 13 Reasons Why edition. Links included. It's been a while. I know.
Zach and Alex
Okay, so. I did not personally love this show. It was okay. I did, however, fall in love with this ship. In my humble opinion, there are not nearly enough fanfics for them, but here are a few
1. Deserved by TheLovliestCrime on Ao3. Okay. This fic is my favorite. It is so good. This fic starts with Charlie and Alex together, but Alex realizes he is in love with Zack. But there is NO Charlie bashing. Zach is kinda dumb in this for a while, but it gets better. Rated Explicit and has over 80,000 words.
2. Damaged by thatcrazymj on ao3
This fic is about 23,000 words. It is rated T. This fic starts with Alex and Jess together, but it is going badly. Basically, Zach comforts him in the aftermath, and they discover something more. Highly recommend. Kinda angsty. Be warned.
3. We Don't Need to Whisper by just_chiara on Ao3.
This is technically the fourth fic in a series, but it is the main one that the series resolves around. They are already together when the fix starts, and they are just figuring out their relationship. Rated Teen. About 85,000 words.
4. Baby Steps by Alex_Standalone on A03
So this one is kinda angsty, too. Zach is super depressed in this one. Eventually, he and Alex get together, and Alex helps him because he knows what he is going through. Great writing. Rated Mature, about 31,000 words.
5. Mouth to mouth, heart to heart by ZachandAlextime on A03
This takes place during the camping trip after Alex realizes what Winston's motives were. Zach has a bi crisis, as per usual. Explicit, about 42,000 words.
This next recommendation does not include Zach and Alex. It is a series about Justin and Clay being brothers where the dreaded 4th season does not exist. Read it. Please. It is so good.
6. A Maze of Moments by RealDaveofDaves on A03
This is an AMAZING fic series. It starts right when Justin and Clay have to start getting used to being brothers. The series as a whole has about 280,000 words. They are all rated G or T even though it is fairly mature content based around the content of the show. I really loved this series, and you won't be disappointed with the ending.
Happy reading. Give me feedback if you're willing. Love y'all.

The Tie That Binds Us — Chapter Fourteen (The Start Of Something New)
Summary: Harper navigates the quiet but undeniable shift in her relationship with Olivia. As she leans on Tony for guidance and faces a life changing opportunity, she learns to trust in the moments unfolding before her.
Word Count: 1,157
Tags: Fluff, new relationship, Valentine's Day, some minor moments of angst
The shift that occurred after that night wasn’t seismic. There were no grand declarations, or really anything of note that solidified for Harper that it had even been real. But it had. She was sure of it. Yet she didn’t want to bring it up, in case Olivia had changed her mind and thought the whole thing was a mistake. So, she’d just see what happened.
As it turned out, that was the right decision, and she noticed more and more the small changes that were happening between them, like the way their hands found each other more often, the way Olivia's voice dipped lower when she said goodnight, the way Olivia looked at her a beat longer than before. It was new, that’s all. And with newness came uncertainty.
Up until recently, Harper had lived with Olivia as a friend, as someone who understood her grief and carried her own in a way that didn't demand space or attention. Now, she was in the kitchen where she was brewing coffee for both of them to start their days, an act so domestic it gave her pause. She caught herself wondering if a kiss before Olivia left for work would feel natural or forced. She didn't want to push.
Olivia, standing in the doorway, seemed to have the same sort of hesitation. She walked forward, brushing her fingers lightly over Harper's as she took the mug from her. "Thank you," she said softly, and for the first time, she let her lips press a fleeting kiss to Harper's cheek. Soft. Barely there. But it sent warmth through Harper's chest, steadying her.
They really were becoming something else, and just like with anything that transpired between them before, the transition, while perhaps a bit awkward, felt safe. Right.
Nearly a week and a half into the new year, and Tony surprised Harper by stopping by to check in. She’d been a little lax in keeping him in the loop with everything that had gone on since New Year's Eve and she thought she should explain why she’d been so quiet.
"You wanna go for a walk," she asked, shifting her weight from one foot to the other as she stood in the doorway.
Tony arched a brow, not that he was surprised by the suggestion. Of course Harper wanted to walk and talk, but the puzzling expression —somewhere between tension and excitement— on her face gave him pause.
"Yeah, alright, let’s walk."
As they took off down the street, Tony stayed quiet, letting her find her words. "I told Olivia I had feelings for her just before Christmas." Tony couldn’t help how the shock reached his face, as best as he tried to tamp it down. "Come on, you know I’ve always liked her. Hannah knew too. Just, as we became closer, I couldn’t just not say anything anymore. It felt too big to keep hidden, and anyways we…kissed. On New Year’s Eve."
"You— wow," Tony finally said, realizing Harper was going to need more than that, but she had to give him a minute to adjust.
Harper sighed, filling in the quiet as Tony wrapped his mind around it. "It wasn't just a one time thing either. We're," she struggled for the right term. "We're trying to be more. But it's still so new, and I don't want to ruin what we already had. What if we go too fast? What if she changes her mind?" Now she was spiraling.
Tony stopped, turning to face her fully. "Harper, you're not some reckless kid diving in without thinking. In fact, I think you’ve been remarkably adult about it all. I’m impressed. You’ve come a long way. And Olivia? She doesn't do things lightly. If she's in this, she's thought about it. She's choosing this. Choosing you."
Harper swallowed past the lump in her throat. "I just don't want to lose her," she confided.
Tony's expression softened. "Then don't let fear keep you from being happy."
Harper cracked a smile. "Thanks, Tony. You always know the perfect thing to say."
"I’ve had practice," he joked, and Tony walked Harper back home, leaving her at the door with a nod and a wink as a way of saying she's got this without the need for words.
Harper kept her conversation with Tony in mind, even going on into February. She was still letting their relationship unfold how it may, but she wasn’t holding herself back anymore. She didn’t allow herself to feel afraid of cozying up to Olivia on the couch, or putting her arms around her when she reminded her not to stare at her laptop for too long worrying over the trial that would commence come March.
And one Monday, a thin envelope from NYU arrived bearing news of either Harper's acceptance to the university or her rejection. Harper nearly didn't want to open it, too scared of what it might say. Olivia, sensing her nerves, sat beside her at the kitchen table and covered Harper's hand with her own.
"You don't have to look right now," she said gently. "But it could be good news," she reminded.
Harper nodded. Olivia could be right, and either way, she’d have to read the answer someday. No sense stewing on it when she could know one way or the other in a matter of minutes. And when Harper opened it to see the word 'Congratulations', she let out a breathless laugh of awe. "I got in."
Olivia squeezed her hand. "You got in," she echoed, beaming with pride. And for the first time without overthinking it, Harper leaned in and kissed Olivia in celebration, and Olivia's smile hadn’t faded one bit.
Harper didn’t let herself think too much about leaving, hadn't let herself consider what it might mean for them. There were still many months to go before that, and she wanted to live in the here and now while she could.
Next came Valentine's Day. Since everything was still new between them, they opted out of any big displays. But when Olivia woke up that morning to a small vase of deep purple irises on the kitchen counter, she knew exactly who had put them there. She didn’t know how early Harper had to get up to go fetch them, but she was touched nonetheless.
She turned to find Harper watching her from the doorway, a soft smile on her lips. "Happy Valentine's Day," Harper said quietly.
Olivia walked over, wrapping her arms around Harper and holding her close. "Happy Valentine's Day," she whispered back. "How did you know irises were my favorite?"
"Hannah told me once. I guess I just never forgot," Harper admitted with a shrug.
"Well they’re beautiful, thank you."
Harper had wanted to do something nice for her, knowing that the beginning of the trial was just a couple of weeks away and they likely wouldn’t get another moment like this for a while.
