100 LED Chaser Circuit Using IC555 and CD4017

A Chaser Circuit consists of a clocked IC or other electronic unit like an Arduino that drives an array of LEDs in such a way that individual LEDs (or small groups of LEDs) turn on and off in a predetermined and repeating sequence producing a visually attractive pattern.

In this tutorial I am going to create a chaser circuit that can drive 20 or more LEDs using 555 timer IC and CD4017 decade counter. Watch this video for detailed step by step instructions on how to build this circuit and for a complete instruction on how the circuit works.

man im going to come out and say it - I find it a little weird and im not really drinking the KoolAid and it seems like a lot of people didn't either. like something is about to happen professionally I think everyone can feel that things suddenly changed??? and the way X handles it is by being The Most Annoying.

But yes, your theory is actually really plausible too. The frontrunner in fact. I'm embarrassed it should have been mine. They went through a similar phase of confusion between OF and THK and we know Khaotung struggled to get into Bison's headspace. And it's very possible that as they're going through filming/script workshop for C4C they're trying these dynamic out for themselves and feeling the characters out. I think stories that are not plot driven, put a lot of burden on the actors to bring unique nuances to their characters - aka I think there's probably a lot more ways to be Lynx and Tiger than there is to be Bison and Kant and First and Khaotung are making some decisions now as they're workshopping.

But I think what's different this time is that First is doing it too. Usually I see these shifts as being led by Khaotung, but like you said, First is really pushing the 'thats my omega' vibe onto Khaotung and I don't know that Khaotung is really built for that. He is princess, he is princess but he doesn't seem to take these compliments with the giddy embarrassment that Gun and Nunew are so good at portraying. He looks kind of...regular embarrassed. Khaotung needs to start choking First on live TV like Mix does to Earth if First insists on saying these embarrassing possessive stuff I am embarrassed to admit that im being 100% serious

Also it is really easy to shit on Elysium Everlasting, and fun as well to be honest, however I think not enough appreciation was given to Vill-V's role in the story. I think she was probably the most fleshed out character in the actual main story as we got to see her flashbacks from her point of view and empathize with her self hatred and how it led to her assuming so many identities. Also the interactions between the original Vill-V and Mei almost made me ship them. I felt that was better written as a part time gf. Also the sim Vill-V's death where all the personalities were saying goodbye to Mei almost teared me up. As well as I feel like the real Vill-V's death is rarely talked about: Imagine being on the moon fighting a terrifying terror on the moon and it tears you to pieces and throws your maimed body into space. I love Vill-V and her and Mobius are my favorite Flame-Chasers.

Tbh the real Vill-V was straight up fridged. She was piloting the Selene and died when it got wrecked but like… in the original version of the manga… it was remote controlled……… why did she need to be there come on

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

This series is definitely not on the top of my watchlist, but I was so captivated and the story was so good! Now I will admit, I was highly confused in the beginning because I was supposed to buy tickets to the godzilla x kong movie(a whole different story), yet this was definitely money well spent. easily 3.9/5⭐️

2. A Quiet Place: Day One

Hehehe this was a first date movie and i’m just so glad they like horror movies as well. I binged the first two movies LITERALLY HOURS before the date. Like I walked up to him(when he picked me up) with my Ipad in hand finishing the last 10 minutes of the movie, which helped tremendously with watching this movie. Lupita and Joseph are freaking amazing, and the cat?!? A natural star. 100% 4/5⭐️ although it’s super predictable

3. Twisters

Never saw the first one but a guilty pleasure of mine is watching storm chasers. Glen Powell you are amazing, i’m fully ready for a glen powell takeover idc idc. Heartstrings were tugged on and now I point out storm clouds all. the. time. 5/5⭐️ (😱surpriseeee)

4. Alien: Romulus

I GOT THERE LATEEEE😭😭fucking traffic but another movie date😝 we couldn’t have missed like the first 5 minutes but GOD I LOVED IT(except for the AI, consensual or not) binged another movie series in preparation and i will admit the alien movies maybe except for one have an equation: super slow beginning + scare the shit out of you ending😂 4/5⭐️ would have been a perfect 5 if the AI wasn’t there(still super eh about it)

5. Coraline 15th Anniversary

Was also late to this but SISTER DATE MOVIEEEEE😌😌not rating because Coraline is iconic and one: finally seeing it in theater and two: seeing it on 3D was just so amazing and made the movie a million times better

Special mention: I went to see Zack Fox do stand up and i’m glad it was my first comedy show (and it was a solo date😛) The openers were phenomenal, there was a whole section of Zack rambling about celsius…which also led to him extremely losing track of the original conversation. For sure I have to see him again😭

i am so surprised that them crooked vultures isn’t talked about more because MAN they are a fascinating rock group. it’s josh homme (queens of the stone age, kyuss) and dave grohl (nirvana, foo fighters… also queens of the stone age) making a supergroup thats basically queens of the stone age 2 now with 100% more john paul jones (led zeppelin). this came about because dave grohl intentionally sat josh homme and john paul jones together at his birthday dinner at MEDIEVAL TIMES (???). they gave themselves the stupidest fucking name ever, dropped one amazing album, and then dipped. it’s the origin of dave grohl “FRESH POTS” and “there were more than six drugs”. their promo video for their single ‘gunman’ is a poorly rendered 3d skeleton dancing for like 30 seconds in a red void with what i can only describe as artificially rendered strobe lighting. the album features the horniest song ever (‘no one loves me and neither do i’) and a song that ends in literal clown music (‘mind eraser, no chaser’). josh homme later cited the project as part of the reason he went into FUCKING CARDIAC ARREST and then released the most banger album under queens of the stone age and. you’ll never guess who played drums on like half of it. truly amazing 10/10 album them crooked vultures please return

The most anticipated sporting event in the wizarding world is coming to Britain!

The Departments of International Magical Cooperation and Magical Games and Sports have been hard at work to make this year’s Quidditch World Cup the best yet. A shining, new stadium has been constructed in the remote reaches of Connemara National Park in Ireland, and devoted fans have been camped out since mid-July in anticipation of the August 24th match. This cup has been dubbed “the Battle of the Under-Crups” by many commentators, referencing the surprising shake ups that have led to Brazil and Mali facing off, a pairing no one saw coming! The match will be commentated by James Potter of the Wizarding Wireless Network, and former Holyhead Harpies chaser, Rolanda Hooch. To celebrate the occasion, the Department of Magical Games and Sports is hosting a Team Pride contest, where the individual with the best costume will have their picture taken for the special commemorative edition of the Daily Prophet. Additionally, in an effort to discourage illegal gambling, the Wizarding Wireless Network is gathering predictions on the final score, and the winner will receive a voucher worth 93 galleons to Quality Quidditch Supplies!

Things To Do

A variety of vendors have set up stalls around the stadium, selling souvenirs, memorabilia, and fan merchandise, as well as traditional Irish food and drink, and some Brazilian and Malian fare. 

Like in the fourth book, there is a campground near the stadium for people to stay and visit. For those unaccustomed to roughing it, and with the right social standing, Eamonn Burke has opened his nearby family home, Burke Lodge, to select guests.

The costume contest will take place on the day of the match, and predictions opened the week before, both in game. 

The match itself lasts 23hr, from 8:30 pm on Tuesday, August 24th, to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, August 25th. 

The Teams

Brazil; This is the first time in over 100 years that Brazil has made it past the quarter-finals. It was predicted that they would do middling-well in the tournament, but when a doping scandal overturned the final ruling of a game, the team grabbed their second chance with both hands and have been fighting tooth and nail to keep it. In their semi-final match, which lasted a grueling four days, three players suffered injuries. This is team Captain Beatriz Alves’ fourth time on the national team, but her first time in the finals; at 38, many expect this to be her last shot at the cup.

Many credit the team’s success to the talent of beaters Hawa Toure and Miriam Kieta. At only 19, Toure is the youngest player to ever make it to the finals.

I know that probably nobody will read this but i just wanted to express(i think this is the right word, sorry english isnt my first language) how gratefull i am for all the trans musicians i like. I always knew i wasnt exatcly cis but before starting to listen to Femtanyl i was thinking i was just a femboy, i first listened "P3T" in an animation meme and slowly started to like it more, then going to listen to the whole "CHASER" album and it all connected with me, even when i didnt know that Noelle is trans.

I alredy liked 100 gecs but after Femtanyl i started to listen to more and more transfem artists like MAILPUP, Ida Deerz and 4lung. At this point i was like "wow...all the artists that i liked recently are trans :0" and even led me to discovering being into petplay when searching about puppygirls. At that point i was like "ok...maybe not really just a femboy" and that led me to discover being Bigender, i still tought hrt was not really for me, maybe trying just dressing fem would be enough for me(was what i thought at least)

Seeing so much of the trans community made me ponder more and more bout hrt because i related so much to others. What made me do the decision was one particually bad night that i was felling pretty bad even if nothing happened, i remember catching a stray thought that was like "Are you stupid!? We both know you are stalling just because you are afraid, just make the decision alredy you dumb fuck", i was really suprised because it was kind of like...a genuine though that i really didnt see coming, i normally like...kind of controll my inner naration normally but this genuine outburst was just so surprising for me(sorry if its convoluted, its really hard to explain how it works lol). After that i really couldnt lie to myself anymore and decided to go after hrt.

Sorry this all turned into a huge vent, i just wanted to show how much this all changed me and made me go forward even when i absolutely hate change, if i didnt discover Femtanyl a while back i probably would still be stuck in the "still cis tho" stage.

Wie funktioniert das Spiel - Pixel Chaser?

Im Spiel "Pixel Chaser" sind acht LEDs in einer Linie angeordnet. Zu Beginn des Spiels wird eine der LEDs zufällig als Ziel ausgewählt und leuchtet rot auf. Eine andere LED bewegt sich kontinuierlich von links nach rechts und zurück entlang der Linie. Der Spieler muss den richtigen Moment abpassen und die Taste A drücken, um die bewegende LED anzuhalten. Ziel ist es, die laufende LED genau über der roten LED zu stoppen. Wenn der Spieler erfolgreich ist, erscheint ein lachender Smiley auf dem Display des Arduino UNO R4 WiFi, und ein positiver Ton wird abgespielt. Außerdem erhöht sich die Geschwindigkeit der laufenden LED, was das Spiel schwieriger macht. Verfehlt der Spieler das Ziel, wird ein trauriger Smiley angezeigt, begleitet von einem tiefen Ton. Danach beginnt das Spiel von vorne, und die Geschwindigkeit der LED wird auf den Anfangswert zurückgesetzt.

Aufbau der Schaltung - Pixel Chaser mit dem Arduino Plug and Make Kit

Der Aufbau des kleinen Einsteigerprojektes ist in drei wenigen Schritten erledigt. Da die Module über eine eindeutige Adresse verfügen kannst du diese auf der Modulino Base beliebig anordnen, du musst dich also nicht zu 100 % an diese Anleitung halten. Wichtig ist lediglich, dass diese mit dem Qwiic Kabel miteinander zum Arduino UNO R4 WiFi verbunden sind.

An den Modulino ist jeweils eine kleine, grüne SMD LED, diese sollte aufleuchten, sobald dein Mikrocontroller Strom bekommt. Dieses kannst du als Indikator nutzen, dass die Modulinos korrekt angeschlossen sind.

Programmieren in der Arduino IDE

Wie du die Modulinos des Arduino Plug and Make Kit in der Arduino IDE programmierst, habe ich dir bereits im ersten Beitrag Arduino Plug and Make Kit: Was ist drin und wie benutzt man es? gezeigt. Durch die I2C Adresse und der sehr einfachen Bibliothek ist die Programmierung besonders für Anfänger geeignet und mit wenig Codezeilen kann man schon beträchtliche Ergebnisse erzielen. Für die Programmierung der Modulinos benötigst du die Bibliothek Modulino welche du über den Bibliotheksverwalter der Arduino IDE installieren kannst.

I am a deacon in the PCA. What happened with Scott Sauls solidified a position I already held, that I will never vote in favor of the pastoral salary of any graduate from Covenant Theological Seminary, and that the entire leadership of both the seminary and the Nashville Presbytery should be placed under discipline.

In the aftermath of the American Civil War, there were two major bodies of Presbyterians in the US. For clarity's sake, they will be referred to as the Northern and Southern Presbyterian Churches. In the early 20th century, the Northern Presbyterian Church started slipping doctrinally and its more Biblical orthodox ministers left under the leadership of JG Machen to found the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) in 1936. This nascent denomination had its own problems, with two major factions represented. The ones that were chasing trends in American evangelicalism at the time (being teetotalist and dispensationalist) left to found the Bible Presbyterian Church (BPC) the next year. 19 years later, the BPC established Covenant Theological Seminary.

Wherever evangelical trend-chasers in northern Presbyterianism went, they somehow kept taking CTS with them, and in the late 1970s it was in the hands of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Evangelical Synod (RPCES). In the meantime, the doctrinal issues that motivated the formation of the OPC made their way south, leading the more Biblically-oriented pastors of the Southern Presbyterian Church to found the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in 1973. This denomination spent the first several years of its existence lacking a seminary and taking various measures to establish a presence in the northern US and in Canada. This led to entering merger talks with the OPC, the RPCES and another denomination called the Reformed Presbyterian Church in North America (RPCNA), all of which had a northern and Canadian presence, and had seminaries. The PCA retracted its invitation to the OPC because it was embroiled at the time with a controversy over the doctrine of justification (see p. 97), and the RPCNA declined the invitation (see pp. 100-101), leaving only the RPCES, which was successfully absorbed into the PCA in 1982, bringing CTS with it.

The next year, a number of churches left the PCA to form the Reformed Presbyterian Church in the US (RPCUS), citing the denomination's unfriendly attitudes to postmillennial eschatology. The merger was doubtless a contributing factor, as the BPC was founded to promote premillennialism, still promoted it when establishing CTS, and there was a substantial share of premillennialists in the RPCES at the time of merger, including, most notably, Francis Schaeffer.

The merger, and the ensuing departure of postmillennialists, combined with the substantial number of former Southern Baptists in the PCA's existing membership, helped propel, for good or for ill, the PCA towards the mainstream of American evangelicalism, particularly in comparison with other Presbyterian bodies. This is why many PCA congregations have contemporary worship, Passover seders. seeker-sensitive models, are friendlier to dispensationalism and, in recent years, have become more tolerant of sexual antinomianism.

In the early 2000s, a controversy erupted over the doctrine of federal vision in the PCA. Many ministers who promoted it left or were expelled. Notably, federal visionists tend to hold to postmillennialism and hold more strictly to the regulative principle of worship, and their absence from the PCA propelled it even further towards the evangelical mainstream.

Recently, a conference taking place on PCA church grounds, using church funds, called Revoice has promoted unbiblical views of human sexuality. Steve Warhurst criticized the conference, and 181 ministers of the PCA came out of the woodwork to condemn him, including 80 graduates of CTS. In addition, another CTS graduate, Greg Johnson, used his office to further promote unbiblical views (but thankfully left the denomination). More recently, one of the men on the list, Scott Sauls, was known to have promoted a hostile work environment and promoted unbiblical views of church offices (but also thankfully left the denomination).

This leaves the denomination as effectively two in one trenchcoat, classical Presbyterians, and effectively Baptists who happen to sprinkle babies. This year's general assembly will see a number of overtures assessed that will bring the denomination either closer or further away from Big Eva. It has yet to be seen whether the departure of men like Johnson and Sauls will be enough to stem the tide towards trend chasing.

If the OPC had simply not had this controversy in the early 1980s, we wouldn't be in this mess. Thanks for nothing, Norman Shepherd!

so, the newest trailer for the reboot of Twister, "Twisters" dropped yesterday.

on the surface, it's not really something to write home about. classic disaster porn of a movie.

the plot definitely is where i took my first issue. sure, the original 1996 Twister was campy and some of the scenes involving tornadoes were silly, but the main goal of the characters is that they became chasers and scientists to obtain data on the formation of tornadoes to increase the amount of warning time we can give the general public. a noble one, especially since it is still the main goal of meteorologists today nearly 20 years later.

in "Twisters", our main protagonist wants to discover a way to "disrupt" tornadoes. so, my guess is that she and her handsome co-star are going to find a way to stop the Super Mega Crazy tornado that's for sure going to be at the end of the movie. very dumb. and she has a phd? ok.

however, that silliness all but pales in comparison to what i'm actually upset and outright angry about.

during the last 30 seconds or so of the trailer, a tornado is currently hitting and destroying a town. our main characters are fleeing from debris as the storm closes in. the last shot of this scene, focuses on the water tower's supports collapsing under the force of the winds, and for a few seconds, we can read the name of said town being destroyed: El Reno.

El Reno is a relatively small city in Oklahoma, USA. In 2013, the widest tornado ever recorded formed on the outskirts of El Reno. it clocked in at over 2.6 miles wide (~4.2 km) and had the 2nd highest wind speeds measured on Earth at over 291mph (~468km/h).

the storm thankfully stayed over a fairly rural portion of Oklahoma and therefore, didn't cause nearly as much catastrophic damage it could have. however, this being an impressive storm is not the only reason why this day lives in infamy amongst the weather community.

El Reno's tornado was unique on top of its incredible storm structure. the tornado was rain wrapped, which means that the classic condensation funnel most people associate with tornadoes,

was completely obscured by a dense layer of wind and rain.

these types of tornadoes are especially dangerous because you can't see them. in El Reno's case, the storm was such a rain-wrapped mess that no one in the vicinity could really tell just how large it really became. add to that, it took a path that most tornadoes usually do not and did a nearly 360 degree change in direction as it scoured the ground. for a more comprehensive breakdown of that days events, i'd highly recommend watching this Weather Channel's analysis video.

tornadoes this large usually contain multiple vortices, which are the funnels of wind that do most of the catastrophic damage associated with ones like this. these vortices are what led to the death of 3 experienced storm chasers: Tim Samaras, his son, Paul Samaras, and Carl Young.

in total, 8 people died as a result of the El Reno tornado.

now, what puzzles me most about this being a detail in this trailer, let alone in the movie, is why. the original Twister is what got many people my age and older into storm chasing and weather in general. and if you're at all familiar with the history of tornadoes, which i'm more than certain a fair majority of their intended audience is, then they are going to 100% recognize the town on that water tower and what it means to the community.

if this had simply been a crazy, unique storm that went through the open plains, i would have no issue with them putting this little nod to El Reno in. but the fact of the matter is, this tornado took 3 experienced chasers from us and killed 5 other civilians.

i just find it incredibly distasteful and disrespectful. it would be like having them try to stop a tornado from destroying Moore--a town that was impacted by the last rated EF5 in the same year, 2013. people died. you couldn't have made up a town name?

this whole thing has had me in a tizzy since i saw the trailer yesterday and it compelled me to make this thread that is v specific and probably no one will care about... but I CARE!!! what the hell!!! FUCK YOU "TWISTERS"!!!!! BOOOO!!!

There are two ways to deal with pulsating light sources, magic frame rates, or magic shutter angles. If you pick a magic frame rate, you can use whatever shutter angle you want to get the motion blur and exposure you want. If you have to use a non-magic frame rate, you're stuck to pick one of the shutter angles that are "magic" for that frame rate.

Light sources that pulsate due to AC power produce light on both the positive and negative half cycles, so they pulsate at twice the power frequency, 100 Hz in the UK, 120 Hz here in the US. Your goal is to get the same amount of light in every frame.

 The first way to do that is to choose a frame rate that divides evenly into the pulse rate. That way each complete exposure and pulldown cycle of the camera corresponds to an integer number of light pulses. So, the shutter always opens at the same point in the light pulse cycle, and closes after admitting the same amount of light. That allows you to use any shutter angle you want. 24 works here, because 120 = 5 x 24. 25 works there, because 100 = 4 x 25.

For over or under cranking, the possibilities are:

120 = 1 x 120 = 2 x 60 = 3 x 40 = 4 x 30 = 5 x 24 = 6 x 20 = 7 x 17.143 = 8 x 15 = 9 x 13.333 = 10 x 12 .... = 20 x 6, etc.

If you can't use one of the magic frame rates, you're stuck with the more difficult approach. You have to find the shutter angles that, at the required frame rate, have the shutter open for an integer number of light pulses. Suppose you must use 25 fps with 120 light pulses per second. In that case, you want a shutter angle A such that

(1/25) x (A/360) = (N/120) where N is an integer. The possible N values are 1, 2 ,3, and 4, because at N = 5, the exposure becomes longer than the cycle time, so your shutter angle would have to be over 360 degrees. Working the math, we get:

A = 75 x N

So, the possible angles are 75, 150, 225, and 300. (The next one would be 375, but that's impossible.)

It should be clear that magic frame rates are the easy way, and 24 is plenty close enough to 25.

If you have some reasonable way of recording and monitoring what you shoot, you should be able to test and play back on the set to be sure if you have a problem. A great many light sources such as incandescents and modern flourescents don't follow the mains frequency, and work fine without any extra math or magic. I've seen problems with neon signs and advertising displays, though. Particularly, some of the LED chasers use their own frequencies, so you may have to experiment with them, or just get them off the set.

Slenderverse/Creepypasta headcanons

Greetings! This post will explain the canon I created to work with within this blog. You can check out my works in here (link will be added later). Enjoy!

TW: Topics such as cults, limbs being chopped off as well as heavy mentions of mental illnesses will be mentioned. Beware, NONE of this characters are real. This is merely my interpretation of them.

HINTS: Prowler, Mary, Doctor Crow and Saint Matriarch are my original characters. Don't steal them.

If you have read my dating headcanons, you already had a sneak peak into how this universe works. In this post, we will go deeper into SlenderMan and his proxies, as well as other creepypastas.

First off, there is no Mansion in this AU. It's every man for themselves. However, there are several safehouses for the proxies that are marked with the Slender Symbol, so maybe it's for the best if you run as fast as you can if you ever find yourself in one. They don't take kindly to strangers.

SlenderMan hunts for people every 20 or so years, and he hunts for them in large groups. It's always when his older proxies get on their 40s, maybe 50s, that he seeks for younger folks. The sweet flames of fear and rebellion slowly dissipate as the years go by, and Slender needs those strong emotions to survive. Said emotions that his older proxies do not carry anymore, at least not in the same extent as younglings do.

Proxies age but said aging gets progressively slower in their 40s. SlenderMan still keeps them around to prolong their suffering. The misery of those souls keep him entertained and strong.

Due to this we have 2 generations; the original ones and their "legacy". Legacy proxies are people selected to replace the original ones, and often they are very similar to their personality. They're not exactly copycats, they still have their own "art".

There are 3 stages that come after becoming a proxy; the first one is called incubation and it's when the Slender Sickness settles in. Loss of memory, coughing, sleep deprivation, nightmares, hallucinations, aggressive mood are all primary symptoms that can easily be mistaken for some other illness. In severe cases, a fever that makes you feel like you're going to die takes place. A proxy who suffered from this was Prowler, whose fever worsened the hallucinations that came with the sickness, and led to the death of his best friend.

The second stage is depersonalization, also called the proxy state, and some people never leave this stage, such as post-MH Masky and Kate "The Chaser". At this phase, you might not remember what you did during the time your brain was split in two self's. This can last for days, weeks, months or years (in severe cases). Like I said, it is often that some proxies never leave this stage. The more time it passes, the chances of your real self to return decrease drastically.

And the last and most rare is the third stage, called convalescence. It takes a lot of an individual's determination and mental strength to get to this phase, for it is when they have complete control during their proxy state. They are themselves 100% of the time, and prime examples of this are Hoodie, Toby and Mary. It can take years or months depending on the individual's self preservation. People in this stage have accepted their fate and no longer fight it, because they believe there is nothing left to come back to.

Except Mary, who managed to become the first proxy of her legacy to run away and survive.

There is a hidden stage, but I wouldn't call it a stage personally. SlenderMan has control over his proxies no matter which stage they are, and if he deems necessary, he can possess their bodies to "Kill Mode" and absolutely nothing will stop them in this state of mind. Fires, bullets, or even stabbing/cutting can slow them down but they will stop at nothing until their objective is complete. It is extremely hard to kill proxies but not impossible.

I already said this, but SlenderMan feeds off strong emotions, especially negative ones. It's what keeps him alive. This is why he always goes after younglings whose lives were unfair to them; that fire which burns inside them attracts him like a moth to the moon.

Now, on the matter of creepypastas, they have absolutely nothing to do with SlenderMan or his proxies. They are just serial killers who could have been proxies if SlenderMan had caught them. That doesn't mean he hasn't met some of them, which he has - examples being Jeffrey and Helen a.k.a "The Bloody Painter" - but Slender let them think he had let them go, while stalking them through the woods or even sending his proxies after them.

Moments such as Helen drawing Prowler, who was unaware the painter had noticed his stalking. Or Mary facing off Jeff in a convenience store, which costed a lot of damage to the store owner.

Or Hoodie meeting off the notorious cannibal, Eyeless Jack. Said encounter almost costed Hoodie his life, had Masky not arrived to save him from the creature.

So, as you can see, proxies and creepypasta's do not go well together. They're like ice cream and meat.

But not all creepypasta's are serial killers, we also have the hauntings, such as Sally or Ben. Sally is a vengeful spirit so beware her kind and playful demeanor, she might just turn you into one of her eternal best friends.

Ben is a hard ghost to get rid of, but not entirely impossible. If you're lucky and you haven't ran out of time yet, a local witch might help you with protection spells and a throughout cleanse.

I should explain this better; Creepypastas have subclasses. The serial killers, the hauntings, the cryptics and the Higher Beings such as Zalgo or Saint Matriarch.

The cryptics are creepypastas who are hard to identify what their real species are. Infamous SlenderMan, Laughing Jack, Jason the Toymaker and Eyeless Jack are part of this section. They are all highly dangerous and most encounters end up with the affected person's death.

L.Jack and Jason have preferences; young children or teenagers are their area of expertise. They will kill any adults who get in their way or find themselves some place they should not have found. Eyeless Jack prefers adults due to their fully developed kidneys.

Now we must also talk about Zalgo or Saint Matriarch. Some witches work with Zalgo, but he is not for the faint hearted. He's a fairly dangerous and powerful demon, so beware. He doesn't care for creepypasta's or proxies, and none of them are stupid enough to summon him. This Prince of Hell just minds his own business.

Saint Matriarch is a sensitive issue. She belongs in both cryptic and Higher Beings subclasses due to the simple reason that no one is 100% sure of what she is. Her cult will tell you she's a goddess while outsiders consider her a cryptic. Her cult is, however, dangerous to anyone they consider is helping creepypasta's or works for SlenderMan. They have support of ex-military on their side.

Doing a quick rewind to the creepypasta's, they also fight between themselves if they find another one in their hunting zone. For example, Doctor Crow and Eyeless Jack share a similar pattern of hunting for victims (Except the part one is a cryptic while the other is a perfectly looking doctor).

There's also those creeps who simply hate the others. Helen absolutely despises some creepypasta's, like Jeff, because of how messy they are. They could never make art out of murder like he does. Nathan will always hate them because of what they are; murderers with no moral code or dignity.

With all of this said; some creepypasta's are easier to face than others. Killers such as Liu and Nathan are fairly light to deal with, since they won't kill everyone in their way and can easily pass as a normal human. Then we have killers such as Vince the Toymaker or Jeffrey.

Careful with who you trust. You never know.

[tv review] star trek lower decks 3x01 “grounded” (2022)

there are not a lot of contexts in which "trust the system" works, but starfleet is definitely one of them. i'm super glad this plot got resolved the way it did, although i do have a few notes which i'll get to in a second. but going into the season i had some trepidation that the whole trial/stealing the cerritos and going rogue thing was going to be much more of a long-term thing. i’m glad this really was more of a tng-style big cliffhanger wraparound type deal.

i loved, loved, loved all the dumb little details of our main lower deckers’ shore leave on earth, like tendi and rutherford eating at sisko’s, or the adorable little bozeman theme park complete with one of those dumb signs saying what the wait time is. also that transporter chief grandpa guy was the fucking best.

if i do have one thing to nitpick, it’s that the more i think about it (and to be honest my boyfriend arrived at this conclusion first), given that lower decks is pretty comfortable being extremely straightforward with its commentary, i would have appreciated if all the "trust the system" stuff had been chased with something like "what do you think this is, 21st century earth?" because while "trust the system" is absolutely, definitely a fair take with starfleet and i'm glad they went in this direction, i really do think it needs that chaser as we sit here in 2022 america.

if this were a 100% for serious star trek series, i would take some exception with the fact that mariner’s father couldn’t offer her anything more concrete than “trust the process.” i think it worked okay given that the show is primarily a comedy series, but i’d be ripping him a new one in this review if this were a more serious show. and i think the story it set up between ransom and mariner is worth the price of admission, and even within the context of this episode i love all of the stuff it led to.

plus, like… this episode honestly had a pretty difficult needle to thread to have the proper balance of seriousness and patented lower decks shenanigans. and i think it kind of nailed it? and allowing it some convenient writing shortcuts to get there honestly seems like a pretty fair tradeoff.

Whenever you’re with Scott the two of you always end up having a great time whether it’s running around cities looking for underrated sites or him joining you on the farm (which he will run around pointing at everything asking if he can have it). Scott is an adult who acts like a child most of the time so do be prepared to reign him in if you have to but he does a good job of self-regulating. Although. He too is sleep deprived and that might not be a good combo since it has often led to movie marathons at two in the morning.

Yelena is introduced to you through Nat and her immediate attempt at flirting is her showing you the vest. There are lots of pockets which hold lots of things and hey if this leads to her teaching you how to through knives well, that’s a first date right there. As soon as she finds out you enjoy languages she’s dead-set on teaching you Russian. Yes it does mean that she’ll get to speak with you in her native language and that’s cool but that also means she gets to flirt with you even when there’s people around because no one knows what she’s saying. Do expect her to brag about you to absolutely everyone that she knows, she loves you and she wants that to be common knowledge.

Hope becoming your mentor was entirely Scott’s fault and while she hates to admit that, she is grateful to be able to take you under her wing (not literally although sometimes yes literally). It’s an off-handed comment about cyber security that leads Hope bringing you onboard to Pym Tech finding you a valuable asset. She trusts you with her suit to make upgrades as you see fit and encourages you to follow your passions. Always there to give advice she makes sure that you know you can come to her with anything. She’s also going to worry about you a lot and scold you for not having a decent sleep schedule (which Hank thwarts because he reminds her that she never slept and was constantly in the lab when she was a teenager).
