i think whats bothered me so much about the Rings of Power, is that i'm sure that, on its own, it would have been a perfectly fine adult fantasy series. pictures and clips i've seen look decently produced. but, everything needs to have a recognizable ip these days for corps to think any creative endeavor will be worth anything. so, of course u need to get one of the most recognizable fantasy ips on board with this idea. what bothers me soooo badly is that, a story, written by a man who constantly reiterates the downfall either man or beast, based solely on their insatiable greed--was given to one of the wealthiest and most corporate people on the planet. stories emphasizing that even the smallest, most innocuous person can change the course of the world, that not caring for your fellow man, not caring for the world and all its bounties, will lead to the corruption of your soul. a story created by someone who hated rapid industrialization and recognized the horrors that it could bring to mankind. and you give it to amazon. what a waste

okay y'all, is twitter gaslighting me or season 2 of Nocturne actually good this time? and i mean the PLOT, the STORY. the DIALOGUE. almost 80% of the praise i've seen is for the animation and i have been watching their work since s1 of the og Castlevania anime; powerhouse never disappointed me on that end. that is NOT what i want to know. season 1 was a mess thematically, and both the story and characters were underdeveloped to the point where i thought i skipped entire episodes bcuz of jumps in the plot. so.. enlighten me.
