the taller of the duo, a violet-haired man with an egregiously thick book in hand, is the first to notice your presence — though it’s actually his brunette companion who rises to greet you. they gesture eagerly to their goods, a small smile pulling at their lips as they introduce themself and their partner, who nods along in agreement to their words. touched by your desire to purchase a bouquet for yours, they quickly reach for a clipboard and pen.

How I feel about this character:

I love him (no one should be surprised)! More specifically, I remember watching the show back in the day and thinking, "Wow, he's really fuckin creepy, I'm getting Slade vibes." By the end of Bitter Reunions he had unironocally become my favorite character and I'd get excited any time a Vlad episode came on. I almost always wind up loving the villains more than the MC. He's creepy, he's scary, he's pathetic, and sad, and scared, and everything in between! How can I not love him?

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

Almost exclusively Danny, but also a little bit of Jack, and with Valerie and Danny in a polyship.

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Jack Fenton! Vlad will never escape Jack's unconditional love and friendship.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

I'm just gonna quietly admit here that I hate hate hate the babygirl thing people do with characters, and that extends to my villains, but especially Vlad. To each their own and all that, but it annoys me to no end.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this:

I wish Danny had actually become legitimately scared of Vlad at some point. I know it's a kids' show, and I know that Danny is supposed to be the snappy hero who triumphs every episode, but one of the reasons I like The Ultimate Enemy episode so much is because Danny technically fails. Had Clockwork not had a soft spot for him, Danny wpuld have lost everything in that episode and only "wins" on a technicality. Up til then, he develops a legit fear of his future self, and we see more of this in the GN.

Vlad is someone who has had nothing but time to hone his skills, and Danny struggles to fight him multiple times throughout the show, and it can be inferred that Vlad is going easy on him, especially when Kindred Spirits rolls around and he punches through solid concrete trying to capture Danny. "Funny, ha-ha Vlad isn't here today" - that is a horrifying line. Danny would have failed in this episode, too, if not for Danielle having a change of heart when Vlad reveals his true colors, and I would have loved for this to be the time when Danny actually starts to realize that, "oh wait! Vlad's scary as fuck, and I still have a long way to go to reach his level!"

But once again, snappy/quippy kids show, hero's gotta win.

a headcanon fact:

I don't know how much of a headcanon it is, especially since we get hints of it in canon and now in the GN, but Vlad is possessive af. Of items, of people - once he's claimed them, they're his, and he won't let them go for any reason, and he lives in constant fear of losing them. Maybe it's a result of losing his best friends after the portal incident. Maybe it has something to do with being half-ghost, but this man has a constant undercurrent of fear lying just below the surface, and when threatened, he responds with anger, claws and fangs bared to the world, ready to lash out and blame everyone for everything but never himself.

Forgot my password to tumblr this morning and wound up making a hugely complicated password generator so it wouldn't happen again and so I could actually remember it.

Now time for actual dev content:

Since all the VFX has really been done and dusted I don't have any cool gifs to show you (that and I don't want to make them since it was really complicated.) So today I will have boring ass regular-degular screenshots. Sorry!

So first off I've implemented the save-file ranking system, of which there are 3 ranks. Silver (the basic one), Gold (the one that you get for doing something tdb), and the Rosegold (which you'll get for having the gold one and then doing something extra on top of it). I also have the hearts counter in place, which track how many "boss heros" you've killed so far. While your normal every day run of the mill hero's will be pretty easy and flimsy (and namely, randomly generated), these boss heros will occur at specific times or under specific conditions and will be like you took a high level dark souls player (me) and dropped them into your dungeon. And, as you can see, there are 5 of them. Which means they get harder. Pause for dramatic effect.

Next up I have the states of gameplay after you load a file. They have their names in the top corner of the screenshot for simplicity as well as their own color scheme which I discussed a little bit about in 002.

So in order we have:

The Combat Sate (red) : Which is for the player to use their own attacks and powers to directly combat the heros, seeing as you're the final boss and all I felt like you should be able to defend yourself. Also adds an extra layer to game design.

The Sponsor State (yellow): Will be your main way of getting GOLD which is the primary currency for all "static" buildings, traps, walls, etc. You'll accept them and they'll become visible in a sponsor tracker that I've yet to add, where you can see how happy the sponsor is with you and, in turn, how much gold they're willing to give you per day or let you spend on certain items.

The Editor State (blue): Pretty self explanatory, will allow you to place units, move units, walls, traps, etc again.

The Dialouge State (purple): This is where your little advisor goblin, which I've named Bartholomew because I thought it was funny, will speak to you. He acts as the tutorial guy for the beginning part of the game but will later on just kind of help with some more automatable tasks. Such as "if x is y then z". This is more of a later if I have time thing as it's complicated on paper so it might be more complicated in practice.

And finally the Shop State, which is basically completed apart from adding content and listings to it. This is where you buy units and everything else. You can use souls and/or gold but some units also come with a "gold/souls per day" stat, which since these monsters are your employees, will mean that you need to pay them per day. Lest they overthrow you. Gwa gwa gwa.

Right now all the listings are randomly generated and have some placeholder text as the description, but it does it's job and I know it works. As you can see here, "433" is the name of the item, "10x" is the quantity, "33g" is the basic one-time payment price and "82g/d" is the price you'd have to pay per day (obviously this will more than likely be souls since walls and traps will probably not have a gold price, but I hear dragons are pretty greedy...) And then the "Lorem ipsum" text is where the description would go.

Purchasing already works and gets added to an inventory not yet accessible to the player (today me's problem). So all I gotta do is just add in the rest of the gameplay loop elements and it should actually be playable (I say that as if that's not a lot of work.)

MLGRM HARRY POTTER AU STARTS... NOW !!!

Recently I went to universal and saw a bunch of cool harry potter stuff... and all I could think about was which houses the MILGRAM characters would end up in- so here I am with an au!

I'd like to specify I don't like J. K. Rowling and don't support her.

That said, here are the sortings I came up with for the prisoners! Complete with a bit of explanation as to how/why i sorted them this way!

001 - Hufflepuff! He is literally the opposite of every other dorm so this was my only choice hahakdkJsjs-

002 - Also hufflepuff! Yuno is very cheerful and upbeat for most of the time, which in my mind makes her seem like a good hufflepuff candidate

003 - Gryffindor! Since he idolizes himself as a sort of ‘hero’, it falls into the bravery part

004 - Beauxbaton student! She’s french, and a pretty girl. makes perfect sense

005 - Ravenclaw! AND, potions professor (mostly specializes in healing potions)

006 - Hufflepuff! Mahiru is as loyal as they get considering how lovey-dovey she is

007 - Slytherin! and transfiguration professor. Since we literally see him doing little magic tricks like turning wedding ring into a cigarette

008 - Gryffindor! And… A death eater! Her entire family was slytherins and when she was sorted into gryffindor that was the prompt for her receiving punishment.

009 - Ravenclaw’s prefect! Since Mikoto is known to have a pretty hard to achieve job, and is very charismatic, i think he’d be the model student type (also one of the popular guys in that every single girl at hogwarts is hopelessly in love with him)

010 - Slytherin! She’s very ambitious- do i really have to explain this???

000/011 - Defense against the dark arts teacher! Since this is seen as the mysterious position at the school and es is also seen as more mysterious

How I feel about this character: 

Literally iconic. He's cool and silly at the same time. A great friend. A hero to all. I like him a lot.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: 

To be 100% honest, I kind of don't romantically ship him with anyone. He just doesn't seem to be the type to be interested and be willing to commit that sort of thing. The closest I can think of are ships where I can see the appeal, but I'm really indifferent to them like SonAmy, SonBlaze, and Sonadow. I ship SonicxFreedom I suppose (I swear to fucking god if there is some obscure as fuck bg character named Freedom!)

My non-romantic OTP for this character: 

This one is hard to chose cause Sonic is just the kind of character where every relationship he has is interesting in some way. Maybe it's just protagonist energy, specifically the kind that tries to see the good in everyone but will kick your ass if you prove you're not changing anytime soon. I think that's why I like his relationships with his redeemed rivals the most, i.e. Knuckles, Shadow and Blaze. Mostly Shadow though cause while they're usually on the same side they tend to take different approaches and this causes conflict, which is interesting and sometimes fun to watch.

My unpopular opinion about this character: 

Roger Craig Smith is the best VA for Sonic. I know, I know Jason Griffith is iconic, and is basically the go to impression everyone does for Sonic now, but if I'm completely honest some games felt like he phoned it in. Jason's Sonic is cool incarnate, sure, but I feel like Roger makes Sonic feel like a character with feelings other than happy and chill. Also I like his snide, witty vibe he give Sonic.

I can't think of anything because as the protagonist literally everything happens to him. He's turned into a werewolf and became King Arthur for Christ's sake! I think I'd like it more if things stopped happening to him.

002. a cabin in the middle of the woods | ...dirkasa stp au. had to do it.

The first time Dirk saw him, he'd put the business end of the pristine blade into his chest. He couldn't, with any real weight behind it, claim that it hadn't done its job.

That had been about the only thing about this situation that proved to be true, though. A part of him had expected this even before he'd entered the cabin---a pervasive sense of wrongness filled the whole woods, since the moment the Narrator had begun speaking. Since the moment there was a voice in his head that didn't seem like him. In hindsight, trusting in the Narrator had been stupid. Every good story has a twist, and in ones like these, the heroes don't end up happy.

That hadn't stopped him from being indignant when everything outside of the cabin vanished, though. He doubts he even lasted an hour before marching, wordlessly, back downstairs, and sticking the damn thing into his own chest.

So much for heroism, he'd thought. Hope you die with me.

Then he'd opened his eyes again to the woods, and the Narrator's speaking. 'You're on a path in the woods,' he says. 'At the end of that path is a cabin.'

Dirk doesn't let him get further than that. One of the voices in his head speaks up in protest---they've been here before. The other one refutes; they'll get this over with much quicker if they just confirm that they'd already done what the Narrator had sent them here to do.

As for Dirk, he'd rather not get involved. It's uncomfortable enough to have three things that aren't really him in his brain as it is; the fact that they're arguing isn't exactly making the situation better.

"Just stop talking. That goes for all of you." He tacks on the last part when the Narrator begins to agree with his sentiment. "I'm going to the cabin. We'll see what happens from there."

I'm not killing him again, he doesn't say, but the Narrator harps on him for it anyway.

The cabin is different when he reaches it. Older, like it's been abandoned. It's the sort of place some rebellious teens who want to feel like they're doing something cool but who want to evade actual trouble would probably hang out, though Dirk wonders where the thought had come from---he doesn't really remember much else about his circumstances before coming to this place.

If he were someone else, he'd probably find it eerie. Since he's not, he's almost starting to believe the voice that insists he'll only find a corpse on the floor. But he takes the blade from the table anyway. The key word in that sentence had, of course, been 'almost'.

Except a corpse is exactly what he finds upon reaching the bottom of the stairs. A corpse without a blade piercing it.

The air suddenly feels colder, the chill giving him goosebumps due to his lack of sleeves---if he's really not wearing sleeves. It's hard to have much of a sense of who he is or what he's wearing when there's almost no actual sense of tangible feeling, something he only notices now that there's cold to feel.

And fuck, is it cold.

The sensation is followed by a head emerging from the floor, transparent and lacking all color. The less monotone voice in his head says they probably should have expected that. Dirk doesn't disagree with him.

"This must be the shittiest sword anyone's ever heard of," Dirk says, with purpose, "if it couldn't keep either of us down."

001. Teardrop - Massive Attack // the love I have for this song knows no bounds. It's one of those songs that within the first few bars, it's instantly recognisable. Sends shivers down my spine every time.

002. Mandy Love Theme - Jóhann Jóhannsson // God. Mandy. That film is like someone just dipped a hand into my brain and spread the contents across the screen. Jóhann was an incredibly gifted artist and this OST is on constant rotation in my home.

003. Highwayman - Highwaymen // This isn't just about killing several birds with one stone (I'm the biggest Willie fangirl and I love Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings) - this song owns me. Every time I hear it I get a little lump in my throat. It's so atmospheric.

004. Teddy Picker - Arctic Monkeys // Okay, onto something jauntier sounding (but, as ever with AM, the lyrics are deliciously grim). I genuinely think Alex Turner will go down in history as one of the greatest musicians of our times.

005. Mother - Highasakite // Highasakite are my pop pick for this list and they're so underrated. I'm baffled they don't have a wider reach. They're also incredible live. This song is delicious.

002 How I feel about this character: Reyna 😂 Indulge me please Blue :)

How I feel about this character: 

She is my favorite in the Heroes of Olympus franchise! I really adored the way the story introduced Reyna as this stoic leader who was determined to do right by her people and then slowly but surely humanized her for us. She is at heart an abandoned child who longs to find a person to call home, and while Camp Jupiter is as much of a home as she understands home to be, her position of leader is a fundamentally lonely and alienating one. She tries to build the Camp into a home and a safe haven that she cannot truly enjoy which is something I find both awing and incredibly heartwarming.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: 

I didn't quite have a ship, but on further consideration, I really love the idea of dumping her in a polyamorous relationship with Frank and Hazel. Frank is the one person in Camp that she stands on equal footing with, and I think that would be so relieving for her in a partner and a friend. Moreover, both Frank and Hazel are what I consider "homely" people. They are warm and gentle caretakers who seem to have this unique ability to make a home for a people no matter where they go. I really adore the idea of them inviting Reyna into their lives and her finding a home with them.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: 

Annabeth! They are foils in the series and are being positioned as rivals. I enjoy the idea of exploring that mirroring further. I really love their respective relationships with Percy and enjoy the idea of Reyna experiencing jealousy over, not the actuality of their relationship, but the concept of it. Annabeth is the one person Percy remembered, and she is the memory that guided him home. I love how that arrangement triggers the hell of Reyna's issues.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

002. gaining an invitation into libertalia isn’t an easy feat. what do you think made you special enough to get handpicked by the professor? and what qualities do you think allowed you to join your position?

"i feel like i'm going to sound like a right arse for answering this, talking all high and mighty of myself." she snorts, leaning forward in her chair. "but i digress. i'm fairly good at thinking on my feet, i was able to get my old crew out of some hairy situations with some on-the-spot concoctions. my engineering professor said i have a wild mechanical aptitude, which i figure helps me with a lot of what i do for the libertalia. whether that be reworking the weapons, coming up with a new way in or out, or just plain ole chemical engineering. my brain just has a way of working problems from multiple angles before landing on the best possible solutions."

003. the captain’s crew is the highest position at libertalia, they are the select few who are aware of the professor’s identity. do you desire to graduate to this level? if you’re already a member of the captain’s crew what motivated you to change your position?

“maybe one day, i think it would be fun to figure out the plans for the heists and such. that being said, i truly enjoy what i do. i wouldn't have gotten into, or stayed in this field of expertise if i didn't. so i suppose i'd miss making things go boom personally if i managed to move up the ladder to the captains."

004. although many members of libertalia don’t know each other’s personal lives, it’s rumored that many members came from suspicious backgrounds. who were you before joining and what was your life like prior?

"i feel like this is one of those questions you're not actually supposed to answer...or rather answer with 'i'm not at liberty to disclose that information." helsing smirks before waving her hand dismissively. "i'm kidding. i had my own crew i ran with, ever since i was 16 until i joined the libertalia. it was fun, they were essentially my second family. i flourished under them and i owe a lot of what i know about the criminal world to them. before that it was just a simple life in london with my parents and two older brothers, who i still keep in contact with. i mainly got into crime after a fire burned down the family bakery and we needed the money, ever since i've sent some back from whatever i make."

005. what was your primary motivation for joining libertalia? was it for the riches or for the thrill of adventure? or is there something else motivating you to continue working for the group? what do you hope to achieve?

"honestly? the thrill of adventure." she laughs. "i know! i know, it's cheesy. my old crew ran your run of the mill heists but the whole premise and mystery of libertalia really intrigued me. and so far i haven't been disappointed. riches are neither nor there, i love my job even more now than i did then. so if there's anything i hope to achieve out of all of this, it’s to continue to get better at what i do. and c'mon, finding henry avery's treasure? that'd be such an awesome thing to put on the hypothetical resume."

006. how would the other members describe you? would you consider yourself to be a team-player or do you prefer to work independently?

"100% a team player, even if i'm more of a 'tell me what you want done then let me do it in peace' type." helsing admits with a grin and shrug. "i'll do whatever i have to do to keep my team safe and make sure they get back in one piece, blow things up first and pay for the damages later. 9 times out of 10 you'll find cookies in my lab for when anyone swings by, i have an open door policy unless the 'do not disturb' sign is explicitly up."

007. libertalia is anonymous, therefore necessitates secrecy outside of the group. how do you balance your personal life outside of this, granted you have one? is there a clear separation between libertalia and your personal life?

"i feel like it's a bit of a cliché, but my family actually think i work for the british government." she rolls her eyes before laughing, holding her hands up in defense. "i'm serious! i have a friend who works at mi5 that i managed to convince into covering for me when i first got into my more shady work. they're in a lower level position, so if my parents call their office my friend will cover for me and let me know they called. we have a whole set up, real movie worthy. i have a few friends from outside of this business that i get together with. i'd say i keep my personal and libertalia life fairly separate, unless i get together with one of the crew outside of work."

008. henry avery’s treasure has been lost since 1695. even with the brightest minds on the case, all leads to find the treasure haven’t turned up. avery’s treasure is the professor’s white whale and after several years of searching, many believe the treasure ceases to exist. do you believe the treasure exists?

“sure, why not?” she mumbles, mouth quirking to the side. “we haven’t found any proof yet to suggest otherwise, so i feel it does exist. just because something’s been lost for such a long time, doesn’t mean that it changes it legitimacy. let’s just hope this white whale doesn’t kill us like ahab’s did him.”

009. do you trust the professor? do you trust the libertalia?

chewing on the end of a twizzler, helsing shrugs. “i trust everyone until they give me a reason not to. i find it’s almost easier that way. so far, neither the professor nor the libertalia have given me any reason to distrust them. so, until further notice, they have my full loyalty.”

part three: the biography;

jaya nadar grew up the daughter of two fairly basic london individuals — a history professor at oxford and a 4th generation bakery owner. two older brothers meant she had two protectors who also taught her how to take care of herself when they weren’t around. “you fight dirty,” rishi, the oldest, always told her “and never assume they’re going to fight fair.” she was a bit of a quirky scrapper growing up, and a nerdy one at that. meaning if the resident bully tried to take the lunch money off of one of her fellow nerds…she’d just take it right back, grinning as she’d hand it back, wiping the blood from her lips. her parents wanted her to make more friends, not that she lacked any...but the ones that she did probably weren't exactly the kind that they'd had in mind. after a science experiment unintentionally actually went right, jaya gained the attention of a crew looking for a new explosives expert. and she became it. she was 16 when she joined the crew, and they taught her everything else that she'd need to know to run with them; weapons proficiency, better tactics with explosives and chemical engineering, even mechanical skills that jaya took to easily. the crew stayed together up until 7 years ago, when the democratic way with which they ran started to fracture right in front of jaya's eyes. different ideas and point of views made them split, and jaya left broken hearted before it could (ironically) blow up in her face. that's when she got the call. she joined the libertalia in a heartbeat, not asking many questions because really, who wouldn't want to join a mysterious organization eh? she doesn't take herself too seriously, but she does everything in her power to be the best at what she does, for the sake of the rest of the group. she'll do whatever it takes to make sure they can get back in one piece, even if that means blowing things up first and paying for the damages later. 9/10 find her sitting upside down, with a screwdriver clutched between her teeth as she tinkers with a weapon or figures out an equation. she’s always experimenting and tinkering with the weapons, never wanting to fit the crew with any old equipment. she’s a good listener, witty, and a wicked shot. always been a plucky one, she'd prefer to go through a wall than jump over it and honestly does try to talk her way out of situations...but isn't afraid to resort to whatever tactics are necessary to help her coworkers or self out. also 10/10 will cook for you if you had a bad day okay.

001. general  ⸻ this blog is a writing blog for my oc VALVARI ALANTAR who i've built over the past five years. intrinsically tied to the legacy of the dragonborn mod, she is a canon divergent last dragonborn. i use caps from baldurs gate just because of it's character creation.

SPARK NOTES :: valvari's adoptive fathers own museums across the world. she's grown up first learning deep history, and being more book focused, but as she began showing a bit of a temper and anger streak, she was sent with one of her father's to start adventuring to begin finding artifacts and curios that are gathered to store in the museums. just recently, they've opened a new museum and val is going to start adventuring on her own in order to help fill it.

002. following ⸻  this is a highly selective blog , i am keeping my circle very small right now and will only interact with those who make concerted efforts to plot with me. i practice mains, i'm not interested in exclusives. i do not follow writers under the age of 21. if you're ever softblocked and you still want to interact, please feel free to follow again, it's never that serious i promise.

i softblock liberally if we have not interacted, i'm not interested in being a number to people. i don't expect to be responding to our threads every day, i don't expect constant ooc talk, we all have lives and other muse interests. what i expect is interaction with other posts that show you're interested in my muse. a like or a reply to a post goes a long way. when time goes on and you're radio silent but still active on dash, i'll likely just softblock just so i'm not feeling unwanted. i promise it's not a big deal, it's just about curating my dash to active mutuals.

003. formatting  ⸻ i don’t care about formatting or icon usage on your end , you do what makes you most comfortable. i personally use normal text with some formatting, and icons only show up in writing if i feel like it. i'll use them if i'm feeling it, otherwise there may be threads or posts where they're absent because i couldn't be bothered to add them. if there's something about my formatting that doesn't work for you let me know and i can adjust.

004. shipping ⸻  i love shipping and am always open to discussing it. val requires chemistry to ship with and i require being comfortable together ooc. it's not going to be a focus on this blog and i'll never be the first to ask in order to keep people from feeling uncomfortable. if you are interested, let me know, i won't consider it forceshipping, but be aware i may say no.

please note :: val is sex positive and a bit blunt, so she may flirt if she thinks your muse is attractive but i'm ALWAYS okay with her being shut down. i promise it's never that serious, and i'm not trying to beg for a ship. she will also drop the topic the moment someone isn't interested.

005. plotting ⸻  i rely heavily on plotting and interacting ooc and my attention will be focused around those of my followers who i have a plot for and rapport with. it isn’t necessary to have one off the bat , but if interactions are going to go anywhere , plotting is required. i typically prioritize these threads/muses and if we go a period of time without interacting or you showing interest in my muse/blog at all, i'll softblock so i can keep my dash to the people i'm actively writing/chatting with.

006. interacting ⸻ i will like starter call , but do not wait to see one on my blog because it won’t happen often. instead , please send memes. they can always become threads. and they are great ways to explore our muses while we aren't working on our active threads. send them and send them often, i'm never agitated if you're sending multiple. i'll delete any i don't have muse for but i'll always answer some.

007. triggers ⸻ there will be adult content present on this blog including , but not limited to :: sexual content , potential mention of self harm , violence , adult language. if you are uncomfortable with any of these please tell me and i will avoid them in our threads. i don't have any specific triggers, however i will always tag potentially triggering things as : trigger tw

i've grown comfortable existing on the edges of fandoms and just fitting val within them, thus i'm very crossover friendly.rape, incest, pedophilia, hate / bigotry (ie: racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc) is not accepted on this blog. i may keep myself distant from callouts or personal drama that appears (mainly just because i don't like calling attention to myself), however i'm not against them when it comes to keeping the dash safe and letting people know about problematic people.
