With the the crewel dilemma, I think the hunter could go well. He signed up to be a church hunter and went “this outfit is ugly” and chose to go rogue. When he encounters rookie hunters he tries to tempt the “dumb pups” to follow him instead. Epel is tempted sometimes by the idea of wearing armor into battle

Hmmm taking comments in account it seems to lean more toward either both or hunter only :') Both but more on the hunter side sounds good. Keeping both of the outfits anyway ! Yeah I can see him being a solo guy, a "fuck it we ball and by ball I mean bullets for everyone !!!!!!" Ofc he'd need to be careful with his own weaponery and not... shoot himself in the foot.... (I don't think he's immune to silver 'n stuff, just full of rage because he wants to, let everyone break stuf in this AU let them go feral)

Alt outfits I just kept thinking abt that shitpost anime (the vampire dies in no time) because I thought of the hunter initially for Crewel's outfit (hat n cape) but the vision broadened... The final song on the Fitzjames playlist is from the soundtrack of the film Aguirre, the Wrath of God, a movie about a group of colonialist soldiers (Spanish conquistadors) invading an environment hostile to them (the Amazon rainforest) in search of a source of wealth for their empire that does not actually exist (the city of El Dorado) who experience a mutiny, murder an innocent indigenous family, and finally go insane and starve to death.

I will admit I'm a little salty that people, in an effort to prove that there is no good dialogue in Veilguard at all, keep comparing mission exposition to the high point narrative set pieces of prior games. I agree that some of the writing related to plot mechanics and mission exposition in Veilguard is a little too utilitarian, but that doesn't mean none of the dialogue is good or that prior games didn't also sometimes have this issue here and there.

I also generally dislike when people put the bar for good writing — and all writing too, not even just dialogue writing, ALL writing — at mic-drop sentences that still sound good completely divorced from context, because that really just reduces "good writing" down to like fake-deep philosophizing or witty quips exclusively. sometimes, a really good bit of dialogue sounds like a completely normal sentence out of context.
