so frustrating to me when people say sasuke needs to get put in his place… he spends the entire first part of the series getting the shit kicked out of him. by haku, rock lee, orochimaru, gaara, and itachi. even after vote1 we see him constantly struggle. he kills orochimaru pretty quick but his fights with deidara, itachi, killer bee, danzo and naruto almost kill him each time. he spends the entire series in and out of the hospital and sickbeds.

the whole point of sasuke’s character is that despite being very talented and naruto looking up to him, sasuke sees himself as the weak vulnerable little boy he was when itachi left. that’s why he wants so desperately to be powerful and not rely on others. so no one can hurt him like that again.

if you think he needed to be knocked down a peg with physical violence then you didn’t understand the point of his character at all… sorry to say it but you fell for his facade !

the question of what would have become of sasuke had he not learned about konoha's involvement in the uchiha massacre really does keep me up at night. before that point, sasuke had devoted every waking minute to matching itachi. after finally letting naruto and sakura in and admitting to himself that protecting his friends was as important to him as seeking justice for the family he'd lost, his encounter with itachi knocked him back on the path of vengeance at the cost of everything else. killing itachi was all that he lived for... i don't think sasuke ever conceived of there being an "after."

this panel in particular is so haunting. what's left after you've completed the quest that consumed the very essence of your being? what happens once everyone you can admit to loving is dead and you've avenged them? what must have gone through sasuke's mind, watching itachi crumple to the ground not only as the murderer of his clan but also as his beloved nii-san, tapping his forehead and asking for forgiveness one last time -- and knowing that itachi fell by his hand? sasuke just smiles, and then collapses right next to itachi like he's dead too.

Ok I Am enjoying getting to see Neji's teammates react to this. Especially Lee, who's fuckin wrecked by this. Wish we got more reaction from Tenten, but by this point I can't be surprised at Kishimoto not giving proper depth to the girls.

haven’t been online much lately and i finally come back only to see a million screenshots of the boruto game with naruto and sasuke doing the “you’re my friend” scene part two electric boogaloo??? like i don’t watch boruto but yall cannot tell me they’re still acting THAT in love in a series where they are married to other people and have kids??? like is it just an understood thing that they’re all in some weird poly relationship with each other what is happening these screenshots are ABSURD
