it is so strange to go to the grocery store and realize that 65 percent of the people there just hate me and will always hate me. i mean it’s not like i didn’t know before. but i don’t think people in blue states will ever understand that level of sheer hopelessness and total demoralization and i wouldn’t wish it on them. if you love or even just know a southerner please realize that we can hear what you’re saying about us and it’s not just one wall of bigots here. people are already talking about refusing aid to states like texas and florida in the case of another natural disaster and i am begging you to realize that we fucking live here too.

Technically I have 28 chapters written for Book 1, and I'm still ironing out the details for Book 2 (I know what Book 2 is about, but I had to reign in too many ideas to the most important focus for the story).

A reminder that the series is rated Mature for depictions of violence and gore! And if anyone is worried, NO, my series will never contain SA or graphic sexual material. At most, maybe something will be implied, but that is it.

I do also have physical copies of the book that came in, but I've been so busy I haven't had the chance to stock them in my etsy!

Either way, I hope you enjoy it! Honestly it's been my therapy to work on this story. And many of the chapters have accompanying visuals! You think I can give up in drawing even when I write a novel? No way!!

Oswald has the Iceberg Lounge (even if it's not really a secret that Penguin owns it) and in Arkham Knight, Two-Face had Hell's Gate. so that got me thinking,, what about the other rogues? and my brain had one singular thought.

Jonathan Crane would own a bookstore, right? like,,, right?? in his first appearance he spent every red cent he earned on books, there's no way this man wouldn't use his Scarecrow money to buy out a bookstore.

I think he visits it after closing some nights and just. Treats it like his personal library. He picks out his favorites and reads until he falls asleep in the bean bag corner.

sometimes i do actually forget that Realm of the Elderlings is technically/nominally "about an assassin" (it's in the title of every book in the first trilogy & 2/3 books in the last trilogy) because "assassin" is in fact one of the last words to come to mind when i think about Fitz

honestly i love that Robin Hobb said "let's make the main character of this series a professional assassin, but give him the skillset & temperament of an axe-wielding berserker. oh and he'll put every last point of his stealth training into Bisexual Self-Deception"
