Just gonna say that this aggie drawing wasn't supposed to be rendered, but for some reason a demon decided to possess me last night aaaand well here we are 😁

Other doodles from more aggies :-D I wanted to render a couple of these, but my sanity levels would've probably dipped into the negatives if I did that 💀

The Rewatch Academy: Episode 2 of Season 1
Tumblr media
“Run Boy Run”
I am in no way a good analyst so my little analysis and speculations probably sound a bit goofy or pretty wild and probably mean nothing at all. Everything I put into this post about each episode is purely what I noticed or thought, whether it's funny or serious. I will be making jokes, so please just leave it at that (in no way am I trying to make fun of an actor and or character!) I am also in no way saying I noticed this stuff first. This is just what I noticed while rewatching these episodes

Tumblr media
☂ Ben is a tired boy leaning on his chair
☂ Luther and Allison please stop making googly eyes at each other
☂ Five really woke up and chose violence that day huh
☂ Diego already knows shit is about to go down and it’s so funny
☂ I love that Reginald doesn’t even scold Five for stabbing the table
☂ Five: “I have a question.” blah blah blah Veggie is talking Five: “I want to time travel.” That’s not a question, Five
☂ It’s interesting to see young Five blinking/jumping compared to older Five. Even at this age, 13, he says that he’s still practicing his spatial jumps. Young Five needs to clench his fists and almost squeeze his eyes shut just to concentrate. Older Five simply just teleports without effort and is able to casually blink even as he’s just walking. Five probably practiced teleporting a lot in the apocalypse
☂ Someone else pointed this out, but all of the other Umbrellas are frozen for a for a second as Five teleports next to Reginald. While that freeze is just editing, and possibly a small error, this is another example of how Five’s spatial teleporting doesn’t make a noise. Luther, Diego, and Allison only look at Five when he begins talking to Reginald. Grace notices Five right away because he is in her line of sight while Luther and Diego were looking at where Five was sitting and Allison had her head down eating
☂ “The effects it might have on your body, even your mind, are far too unpredictable.” Harsh foreshadowing
☂ The “Run Boy Run” scene is one of the best musical moments in all of the show. It gave me chills when I first heard it, and the fact that all of the lyrics that play during that part match so perfectly with it make it even better. Tomorrow is another daybeing sung as Five travels into 2019 is just too good
☂ Imagine how scared you have to be to call out to your p.o.s father
☂ The instant regret immediately falls onto his face and he kneels in front of the Academy
☂ I love how in the first few episodes Five’s hair is styled exactly as it was when he was an old man and when he was actually 13. Over the rest of the season and the second season it just gets more disheveled and floppier
☂ “You think I didn’t try everything to get back to my family?” Ahhhh there we go, one of my favorite Five lines. This here is probably when I truly fell in love with his character. He spent 45 years just trying to survive and attempting to get back to his family. He would have spent more too if the Handler hadn’t taken him in
☂ Vanya is genuinely trying to understand what happened and Five was being a little asshole. C’mon, bud, she’s just confused and hasn’t seen you in forever
☂ This Five and Vanya scene melts my heart (simply as a sibling relationship!!) She doesn’t care anymore if she understands, she just wants him to stay because she hasn’t seen him in a while. Even Five understands that as his demeanor quickly changes from being frustrated to gently telling her “Night.” He watches her as she leaves, also partially realizing that he hasn’t seen her in a while too
☂ Why didn’t Five just teleport outside of Vanya’s apartment?? That would have been the stealthiest thing
☂ “All quick and efficient skills.” A little note on Five’s level of skill of slaughtering the Commission agents in Griddy’s
☂ Diego said he bought his police badge on Ebay, so computers do exist in the UA universe
☂ “By the way, this thing might look like a botched robbery, but my gut’s telling me something else is going on here.”  Yeah, and that something else is your brother
☂ I want Claire to meet her uncles and aunt so bad
☂ So Ben has a ghostly puzzle book and pen he can use? Because if they were real Pogo would have been able to see them just floating in the air. What other ghostly items can Ben summon? (I believe this is more so just an error but it’s fun to think about)
☂  “I-I found it at a playground, actually. Must have just *click* popped out.” An underrated Five line
☂ Five immediately becomes aggressive at the thought of losing the eye, something he found clutched in the hand of his dead brother and was a clue to what caused the death of his siblings and the end of the world
☂ Just now noticed that you can see Diego up on the second floor being led down to where Patch is in the police station
☂ I really like that they added in the little tidbit about a cold case Five created 81 years ago
☂ I miss Patch. She deserved better and more screen time
☂ Hey, Diego might have been thrown out of the Police Academy but at least he’s still in The Umbrella Academy!
☂ Hearing Patch talk to Diego really made me realize that the Umbrellas weren’t even necessary for helping with crime. It was just Reginald’s way of training them
☂ Love the shot of Luther looking at Diego’s cross-stitch and the camera lining it up so it’s like he’s wearing the mask
☂ Five lying just to keep Vanya away and to continue on with his goal hurts. His goal is saving the world and his family, but I don’t think he actually took in what Vanya was saying to him or maybe he recognized the offer but shoved all of his feelings down. She was reaching out to actually get him some help and he lied to her to avoid that. Maybe he doesn’t care and is just blinded by his ultimate goal. Save the world and family first, then process your feelings and genuinely communicate with your siblings
☂ Don’t worry Klaus, I would have let you wear that outfit
☂ When Cha-Cha questions “Five” aka the poor tow truck guy, she asks him about “The London job in ‘66.” I believe she is referring to the Shepherd’s Bush murders where three policemen were murdered
☂ Hazel replying “Not from what I’ve heard.” when Cha-Cha asks if he thinks Five is a whimperer shows that Five definitely had a reputation in the Commission for probably being a cold and stoic guy
☂ Vanya is just trying to help, chill Allison 😭. You haven’t seen her in years, what do you know about her?
☂ Klaus would really slap his brother in the face to get drug money
☂ Another example of Five not making noise when he teleports is when he blinks into the taxi and Klaus didn’t notice that he had left until he turned to look where Five was. On the other hand though the taxi driver does jump as Five suddenly appears in the car. However, I believe that might be from the driver noticing Five in a mirror in the car
☂ I wonder what languages the Hargreeves siblings know. Vanya didn’t understand Leonard’s German. You think Reginald would have taught them multiple languages or maybe she forgot it if she was taught it
☂ I don’t know why but Luther just siting there and reading a book and almost getting hit by the knife is really funny to me
☂ Yeah Diego doesn’t have to prove his innocence, but it would have saved a lot of trouble
☂ Rewatching the scene with Leonard talking to Vanya about his father is just disturbing when you already know what happened to him and how he’s lying just to try to be more relatable
☂ I heard a rumor that smoking is bad for you ❌
☂ Vanya calling to make sure Allison is okay even though she hurt her makes me sad. She’s so nice and thoughtful
☂ The old man can’t even reunite with his wife before he gets hunted down
☂ The shot of Hazel and Cha-Cha putting on their masks in the dark with the music is 👌👌
☂ Again, Cha-Cha isn’t able to hear Five as he teleports next to her and slices her arm. She might not have noticed him though because he was very quick to attack her
☂ Five really went through all of that just to bring his wife home
☂ I think it’s an easily blocked out part because we already know what Allison has to say and it’s exciting, but Luther is apologizing about accusing Diego and causing issues amongst his siblings
☂ Five is just so defeated and emotionally tired that he doesn’t allow Luther to touch him. In fact, he very quickly and aggressively grabs Luther’s wrist. You can tell Five is a little out of it and I believe it was more so his subconscious stopping Luther. Five doesn’t want help, he’s going to carry the burden of figuring out who ended the world and killed his family as far as he can by himself
☂ “There’s nothing you can do. There’s nothing any of you can do.” Are such heavy lines. Five is so emotionally and mentally tired at the end of the day and he sounds like he’s about to breakdown. He’s replaying the moment he found his siblings’ corpses. They weren’t able to stop the person who ended the world. Luther is offering his help, but Five is denying it. Luther couldn’t stop the person who ended the world. None of his siblings were able to stop that person. He’s telling himself that they can’t help and he’s telling Luther and Allison that too. Five wants to be alone to figure out who this person is. His siblings can’t help him
☂ Five coming across the corpses of his siblings is just heartbreaking. He first stumbles across three adults lying in the rubble. One of them is holding an eye. He goes to shake the man in all black, having a tiny bit hope that miraculously he is still alive. He stumbles across another body only to back away with tears in his eyes as he spots the tattoo on the man’s arm and realizes who these people are
☂☂☂☂☂☂☂
Feel free to comment or reblog with things you have noticed too!

“...and so he won’t go unless another couple is with us,” klaus finished explaining, looking desperately to you and five sitting on his bed. “will you two do it?”
you both blushed at the accusation, not looking at each other. “we’re not a couple,” five offered, clearing his throat and glaring at his brother, who very much knew his infatuation with you.
“i know! i know,” klaus nodded, holding his hands up innocently. “you don’t have to think of it as a date! just doing me a favor!” he grinned hopefully at you two.
five finally glanced over at you. “what do you think?”
you tried to shrug as casually as you could. “i don’t think there’s any harm in it. you?”
five focused his hard gaze back on his brother. “you owe us.”
“yes!” klaus exclaimed. “yes, of course! and i promise you both, double dates aren’t bad. well, actually, i’ve only been in a foursome-”
“it’s not a double date,” five cut off. “we’re just third and fourth wheeling.”
you nodded, pointing at him. “i like that.” he offered you a quick smile, trying his best not to acknowledge his blush in hopes that it would go away.
“regardless, it’ll be fun!” klaus smiled. “meet us at griddy’s at eight!” he strutted out of the room.
“you sure you wanna do this?” you said, offering five a small laugh as you both stood.
he shrugged, tucking his hands in his pockets and avoiding your gaze. “i have nothing better to do. besides, now klaus owes us one.”
“true,” you giggled, starting to walk out of the room. “any idea what you’re gonna use that favor on?”
five watched you walk out and took a breath before following. “i have a few ideas.”
...
you stepped out of the snow and into the small donut shop, immediately looking up when you spotted a familiar herb in your peripheral vision. mistletoe was hung just before the entrance of the shop, and yet it was some kind of different. you weren’t sure what it was, but it gave you the same feeling you had whenever your witch friend worked her wonders.
“i wonder where that mistletoe came from..,” you muttered to yourself as you stepped away from it. you reminded yourself not to fall into whatever trap it was and walked over to sit at the counter.
the owner, agnes, came out, giving you a smile as she pulled out her pad and pen. “what can i get you, dear?”
you were about to respond when a voice spoke over yours, “two hot chocolates.”
you turned to see five standing behind you, looking unamused. your eyebrows raised as you took his appearance. instead of being adorned in his usual academy uniform, he had traded in for a pair of nice slacks and a sweater vest thrown over a nice shirt.
he took the seat next to you as you smiled at him. “you look nice,” you offered as agnes went to make your orders.
“i look like an idiot,” he grumbled.
you brushed his shoulder with your hand, picking off some fuzz. “you look like a normal teenage boy.”
“exactly.”
you giggled as agnes set your drinks in front of you, making him smirk. “are klaus and his date on their way?”
“yeah,” he sighed, taking a sip of the hot drink. “i think his date’s picking him up at the academy. i figured i’d skip out on that experience.”
you let out a laugh. “i would’ve, too.” five watched your smile as you sipped at your hot chocolate.
“you look lovely, by the way,” he complimented. you arched an eyebrow at him. “that wasn’t sarcasm.”
“you saying it wasn’t sarcasm sounded more like sarcasm,” you giggled. “but thank you, five.” he nodded, taking another drink to cover his rising blush.
“there they are!” you both turned to see klaus enter the shop dramatically, a guy you hadn’t seen before holding the door open from the outside. you watched the mistletoe cautiously, but nothing happened. the other guy trailed behind klaus as he trotted up to you two. “dave, this is y/n and five.”
dave took klaus’s hand and smiled at you two. “nice to meet you two.”
“you, too,” you said, giving him a polite smile. five simply nodded at him as he sipped down the rest of his hot chocolate. “so, how’d you two meet?”
dave blushed. “well-”
“we can talk about this on our way to the movie, can’t we?” klaus interrupted impatiently. “i wanna get specific seats..”
you and five exchanged a knowing glance as dave nodded. “sure thing. let’s go.”
you both stood from your seats and you all headed toward the door. dave rushed forward to hold the door open for klaus before taking his hand again, both of them beginning to walk ahead of you two. and that’s when it happened.
five had reached an arm out to catch the door before it closed and hold it open for you, but instead his arm bounced off of an invisible force. he stumbled back. giving you a confused look when you simply sighed, trying to move forward again. the same thing happened. he tried another time, even tried to jump out using his power. none of it worked.
“what’s happening?” he asked you, huffing out a frustrated breath.
you looked up, and he followed your gaze to the innocent looking mistletoe. “it’s been charmed, i think by a witch.”
“okay, what does that mean?” he prodded, running a hand through his hair.
you avoided his gaze as you explained, “we have to kiss to break it.”
five went silent, pursing his lips as he considered. it didn’t take long for him to sigh and say, “well. better make it good.”
you looked up to give him a curious look, but didn’t have to chance as five pulled you to him by your waist, wrapping his arms around you and dipping you down in the most cliche way possible, connecting your lips in the most passionate kiss you had ever experienced.
you placed your hands on his cheeks as you rushed to catch up with his fiercely moving lips, allowing yourself to relax into him as you finally satisfied the urge that screamed in your body every time you saw him. just a moment after you tilted your head to deepen the kiss even further, five pulled away and looked up. the mistletoe had disappeared.
he swung you both back up with ease, but didn’t let go of you yet. you were breathless, hands now resting on his chest as you stared into each other’s clouded eyes. without saying another word, you threw your arms over his shoulders and connected your lips again. he was ready, quickly taking control as you kissed him over and over and over again in the empty donut shop.
when you pulled away again, resting your foreheads against each other, his gaze burned into yours as your breaths mingled. you felt like you were on fire.
“think they’ve noticed we’re gone?” you breathed with a laugh. five shook his head, giving you a smirk.
“i think klaus took an edible before this, he has no idea what’s going on,” he offered. you laughed again.
“then we should just go back to the academy,” you drawled, “and watch a movie..” he pretended to consider. “.. and maybe find some more mistletoe.”
“i do like that.”

Words:1090
Tumblr media
Joyful chatter echoed throughout Griddys as the lunchtime rush hour started, people from all over the city came for the fresh homemade donuts, most of them on their lunch breaks the others just passerbys. It was the peak of summer, due to the summer holidays you were able to pick up shifts nearly every day. The uniform wasn’t bad either, just a simple pink 50′s style dress and even though it was 2019 the aesthetic was well received by the city.
At exactly 1:31pm the bell chimes and in walks Five, dressed as he always was in his crisply pressed uniform even if it was the middle of summer, whenever you asked he always just dismissed the question, simply saying he went to a private school. Everyday, just like clockwork, he would walk in at the exact same time, sit at the counter and drink a coffee, black.
Over the past 2 months of this routine he’d really warmed up to you, greeting you with a warm smile and asking about your day as you poured him his coffee, his eyes followed you as you spoke, listening to every word you said with a small smile on his face. He only ever stayed for 25 minutes, his eyes would lazily follow you round the diner and he’d take any opportunity to start up a conversation.
“Hey, y/n,” Five was getting ready to leave. “I’m going to be gone the next couple of days, you should text me.” He gently placed the napkin with his number scrawled messily on it, you pick it up from the counter and place it in your apron pocket, when you look back up he’s gone. You smile to yourself as you finish your shift, checking your apron pocket to make sure that napkin was still there.
As soon as you got home you typed the number into your phone and just stared at it, you weren’t even sure what to put or how to phrase it. You opted for a simple ‘Hey, it’s y/n’ and within seconds you heard a ping from your phone, which started a stream of conversations, Five hardly waiting seconds before sending a response.
Even though you didn’t see Five for the next couple of days, you texted in every possible minute you could, he’d even randomly text you in the early hours of the morning, leaving messages for you to wake up to. He’d often complain about his family, but in a way which suggested that deep down he really cared for them.
‘Are you at work tomorrow?’ Five was always so formal with his texts, it made you smile but also made you fully aware of how bad your texting was. You sent a quick one back about how it’s your day off and seconds hardly passes before your phone vibrates and Fives name flashes on the screen as he rings you.
“We’re going out tomorrow, if you don’t already have plans that is.” Five spoke quickly.
“You know, I think something has just came up.” You say with a cheeky smile on your face, even though you knew Five couldn’t see. You heard him do a disappointed sigh. “I’m joking, I have no plans so I’m yours for the day.”
Five continued to talk about your day tomorrow and all sorts of other things,  about his week, wanting to hear about your week and just in general, you both went on for hours. Before you knew it, it was well past midnight and a yawn wracked through your body.
“I’m going to go to sleep but I’ll see you tomorrow Five.”
“Night y/n.”
Nervously, you waited where Five had asked you to meet, aimlessly fiddling with the strap of your bag that was loosely slung across your body. On queue, Five came around the corner, his face lighting up when he saw you. This was the first time you’d seen him without his uniform and slicked back hair, instead he left his hair ungelled and was wearing just a casual jeans and jumper.
“Hi,” You smile at him as he approaches you. “It’s so strange not seeing you in that school uniform of yours.”
“I could say the same to you about your Griddy’s uniform.” You laughed at his words as you started walking, you weren’t really sure where you were both heading but you followed his lead, weaving between the busy pedestrians on the street.
Five had led you to the very edge of town, you had both been talking about anything that came to mind, familys, hobbies, interests and you even dared to ask about this private school Five goes too, but you didn’t really get too clear of an answer from him. You’d both been walking and talking for so long you hardly noticed where he was actually taking you until you’d reach the top of a hill and onto a clearing that looked over the whole city.
“I like to come here a lot, just to get away from everyone.” He sits down with his back against a rock and gently patted the spot next to him. You sit down next to him, taking in the view of the city as the sun sets behind it.
“It’s beautiful.” You say as you look out at the horizon.
“Yeah.” His eyes never left you as he answered.
As the sun set, you both sat in silence, admiring the peaceful atmosphere. A shiver shot through your body as the cold breeze of the night danced around your bare arms. Without hesitation Five had already peeled his jumper off himself and handed it to you.
“You don’t have too!” You say quickly, a sense of guilt filling you.
“Don’t worry about it, I insist.” You hesitantly took it from his hands before putting it on, it ran big on you, falling past your hands and covering them. Taking your now covered hands, you wrap them around his arm, softly resting your head on his shoulder as the sun sunk into the unknown, disappearing into the night.
“I’ll walk you home.” Five pulled you up and interlocked his fingers with yours, making small talk as you both made your way down and back into the city, making your way back to your neighborhood. Finally reaching your front door.
“I’ve had such a good night y/n-” Before he could continue you pressed your lips against his while holding his face in your hands, you felt him wrap his hands around your waist as you pulled away.
“Thank you, Five.”

surprise! (five x reader)
Tumblr media
requested by : @cosmos06  -   Hiii!!! I'm really loving all your Five fic❤️,i was wondering if you could do a Five x reader fanfic about the reader's birthday,five forgot about it even when she suggest it but he doesn't recognize until he go home and see all his sibllings are celebrate the birthday party for her with a guilty feeling,you can decide the ending.Btw i'm a vietnamese so because of that i'm sorry if my english wasn't good enough😢
a/n : hey love!! thank you for the request,, im so glad you’re enjoying my five fics! i really enjoy writing for him so it’s super lovely to hear that you’re liking them!! anyway i hope you like this and once again thanks for the request angel<3
“Surprise!” The cheers of the Hargreeves siblings rang out and echoed throughout the vast halls of the Umbrella Academy. Party horns and confetti and bright banners overwhelmed you and they all crowded around to hug you. An extensive grin took ahold of your lips and you quickly spread your arms wide to accept all of the hugs that you were receiving at once.
“Oh my gosh, guys! Thank you all so much.” Once all of the siblings let go of you, Allison led you over to table piled with presents. During this, Five took the opportunity to pull Klaus to the side, his face completely guilt-ridden, his eyes worried.
“It’s Y/N’s birthday and you all threw her a surprise party?” He spat and Klaus took a swig of the bottle in his hand.
“Yeah, of course! Why wouldn’t we?” He slurred, grinning at Five who seemed absolutely horrified when he looked over at you, unwrapping a gift that Diego had handed to you.
“It completely slipped my mind.” Five gripped Klaus’ collar in desperation. “I really need you to cover for me while I go grab something.”
“Ah, ah, ah. What do I get in return?”
“Anything. I swear, just, please, Klaus.” Klaus chuckled at his brother, taking another swig of his bottle before lifting his shoulder in a half shrug and muttering a ‘sure’. A quick flash of blue light and Five disappeared as Klaus wandered back over to the rest of his siblings, crowding around you.
You gave a bright smile, hugging Vanya and thanking her to no end. A doughnut plush with pink icing and sprinkles was held in your hand and you squeezed it tight after hugging her.
“I—I know it’s nothing much… I don’t know if you remember but we both used to get the pink doughnuts with sprinkles whenever we went to Griddy’s and—“
“I remember.” You took her hand gently, tears prickling slightly in your eyes when you pulled her in for another hug. “Thank you, Vanya.”
“You’re welcome, Y/N.” A satisfied smile occupied her face, glad you liked the gift. It was simple, but extremely thoughtful of her. You smiled thankfully as you looked back over all of the presents you had received. Diego had bought you a dress of your favorite color that you had been eyeing up a few months ago in a store; he had saved up all of his wages from cleaning the floors at the gym and bought it as soon as he could. Luther had bought you a pair of curtains because you had mentioned weeks back that you needed a new pair for some reason. The gift from Allison was a locket with a photograph of all of you that she had taken not long ago. You had received a book from Klaus, one which you had always read with Ben when you were younger. He had explained to you when he handed it you that Ben had picked it out, and it was from the two of them. The only person you hadn’t received a gift from was Five and you frowned as you looked around the room, unable to spot him.
“Hey, where’s Five?” You looked around at your siblings who all had confused faces, apart from Klaus. “Klaus? Do you know where he is?” Worry crossed over your face and he shrugged lightly, but straightened when he saw the concern behind your eyes.
“Oh, he’s just uh… Y’know… Dropping the kids off.”
“Charming.” Allison muttered as Klaus casually gulped down some more of the bottle. You sighed, hugging the doughnut plushie against your stomach. You figured Klaus was covering Five for something, but you really had no idea why so you didn’t continue to ask questions. “Hey, how about some cake?” Klaus cheered at Allison’s suggestion and everyone else seemed to agree. She shuffled off to the kitchen, coming back minutes later holding a cake with many candles stuck in it. The siblings sang for you and applauded and appraised you when you blew out all of candles. You cut the cake, creating slices for all of the siblings, leaving a spare piece for Five, next to you.
After about half an hour of waiting for him, a flash of blue light appeared and Five stood in the doorway. Quickly, you stood, stepping closer to him as your brows knit together.
“What happened, are you okay?” Taking his hands in yours, you searched his face for any sign that he wasn’t okay. When you couldn’t find one, he smiled slightly, squeezing your hands gently.
“Nothing happened, I’m fine.” You frowned.
“Promise?”
“Promise.” He chuckled as you held your pinky finger up, wrapping his around yours and you smiled.
“Going to the bathroom doesn’t take that long. Where have you been?” Diego questioned and Five looked confused, turning to him.
“The bathroom?”
“I’m sorry! I had to make up something.” Klaus huffed, searching through the bar to find something else to drink and you instantly frowned, chasing your boyfriend’s eyes.
“Wait, if you weren’t in the bathroom, where were you?” Allison asked and Five sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.
“Okay, fine,” he looked at you, sighing deeply. A worried look captured his face and you gulped, nervous of what he was about to say. “I completely forgot it was your birthday and I didn’t buy you a present or anything. When we came here and I saw everyone else had gotten you something, I felt awful and I had to get something for you.”
“Five, you didn’t have to do that.” Your brows furrowed and he still looked terrified. “It’s okay. You just being with me is the best gift I could ever wish for.” Cupping his cheek gently, he smiled and you returned it softly, pulling him into a hug.
~~~
A few hours had passed and you and Five decided to make your ways back to your apartment. Now, you and Five shuffled about in the living room, badly dancing to a song coming from your record player. He pulled you to him gently, your bodies pressed against each other. His arms snaked around your waist and your hands locked at the back of his neck, his chin resting on the top of your head.
“I’m sorry I forgot your birthday.”
“Five, I told you.” Pulling away slightly, you tilted his head down to yours, your eyes at the same level as you smiled. “It’s okay.”
“I got you something.”
“Oh, yeah?” You smiled, looking up at him as he avoided your gaze, reaching deep into his pocket and pulling out a square box. Tears began to puddle and fall in your eyes when he dropped to one knee, opening the box to reveal a beautiful silver ring, one that you had pointed out to him before. He swallowed.
“Y/N. I love you more than anything, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” His voice faltered, his eyes glossing over. Your hands covered your mouth but you quickly moved them, crying as he knelt in front of you.
“Yes! Of course, always, yes!” You exclaimed, bear-hugging him as soon as he stood back up. He nestled his head into the crook of your neck, sniffling quietly as you sobbed with pure joy. Pulling away for a moment, he plucked the ring from its box and slid it onto your finger.
“I love you so much.” He smiled, capturing your lips in a passionate kiss.
“I love you more.”
“I love you most.”
Puppy Love (A Light Fingers Moment In Between)
A/N: Sometimes I say words, and other people say words, and stuff happens. Part of me wants to say AU because it would be easier, but I love making things More Difficult on Purpose.  Word Count: 2333 Rating: G(eneral Audience)
You tapped Diego on the shoulder, nodding your head in the direction of the faint clatter you’d heard.
The pair of you had popped in to stop a home invasion, but one of the perps had taken off with a priceless family heirloom, and you’d agreed to give chase. Unfortunately, he had a head start and you had lost him in the warren of a crowded parking garage.
Diego pressed a finger to his lips and nodded, gesturing with his free hand for you to circle around while he approached from the front to draw attention.
You met his eyes for a brief moment, lower lip worrying between your teeth. You gave his arm a brief squeeze before nodding and setting off. No matter how long you’d been doing this, you worried about him when his plans worked out like this, with him picking fights so you could have the element of surprise. As you moved, quick and quiet, something felt wrong about the situation. Hesitantly, you fingered the knife that Diego had insisted you started carrying on these jobs, not pulling it out yet, but reassuring yourself that it was there and easily accessible.
There was another scuffling sound and a soft whine, one that didn’t sound human. You picked up your pace now, running in the direction of the noises. There, huddled in the corner of the garage, caught and tugging on the corner of a dumpster, was a small, shivering dog.
“Hi there,” you said softly, sinking low and holding your hand out as you crept closer to the frightened creature.
You heard pounding footsteps behind you as Diego ran up, the sound making the dog yelp and try to cower more.
“Shh, shh,” you hummed, shifting to sit cross-legged in front of it, blocking it’s view of Diego, and giving you a more steady position to hold the little creature still while you unhooked it’s collar from the sharp, bent edge of the trash.
Once freed, you expected it to squirm in your arms or try to run, but instead, it stayed, pressed lightly against your leg, shivering. It was covered in so much mud you could hardly tell it was meant to be white and stank horribly (or maybe that was the bins), but you were pretty sure someone would be missing it.
“Think you can find our bad guy on your own?” you murmured as Diego peered over your shoulder. “I don’t want to abandon this little one to its own devices.”
He couldn’t help chuckling. “Yeah, I got it. Meet you back here?”
“I’m not waiting for you by the dumpsters. I’ll meet you by the entrance.”
~
After returning the expensive and hideous brooch to the family, and turning the would-be-burglars over to the cops, you and Diego made your way home, the little dog wrapped in a towel in your arms. The family hadn’t ever seen it around before, and the tag had the dog’s name, “Penny,” but no name or address of an owner.
“It’s alright Penny,” you told her as you walked. “We’ll get you cleaned up, take some nice pictures and put up flyers. I’m sure someone’s missing you and will be excited to have you home again soon.”
“Why don’t we just take it to the shelter?” Diego asked gruffly, trying to hide how cute he thought Penny was.
“Shelters are overcrowded and understaffed. They have a hard time caring for the dogs that need homes, let alone the ones that just got lost and get brought to them. Besides, I...want to make sure her family gets her back, and that’s easier to do if we make the handoff.”
Diego shook his head, slightly exasperated. “Fine. But if it takes more than a few days--”
“We’ll discuss that only if we have to.” You shifted the dog so that you would have a free hand and bopped Diego’s nose teasingly. “Don’t be a grump.”
He gaped at you. “For that, I’m not helping you wash it.”
“Of course you’re not, baby. You’re going out to buy kibble and a leash.” You smiled winningly at him.
~
Penny was with you for just over a week before you got a call during dinner one night. The man on the other end of the line said that he had seen your flyers and was sure that the dog you found belonged to his elderly mother. She had been worried sick when the dog slipped out, but hadn’t been able to follow it, and because of his work, he hadn’t been able to put out ‘missing’ posters. You told him you were glad he called and asked if he had evidence the dog was his or his mother’s. He told you he’d bring a picture of the two of them together, and arranged to meet you at Griddy’s Doughnuts the next morning.
During the time she was there, Penny settled in quite well with you and Diego, excited when either of you left and came back, quite happy to sit on your laps while you watched tv or read at night, curling up at the foot of the bed when you went to sleep. She and Diego in particular, for all his protests, seemed inseparable. For all his protests at first, he seemed to enjoy all of her antics, and slipped her food off his plate when she gave him big sad eyes and he thought you weren’t paying attention. When you told him that her owner had finally called, he hid a frown behind a cough.
“Diego,” you sighed, seeing his face fall anyway. “You knew we couldn’t keep her…”
You were just as sad as he was, if you were being honest. You had never really imagined yourself a dog person, the idea of having a pet so far off your radar as to be unfathomable. But Penny had slotted into your lives like a missing piece, and as glad as you were to return her, safe and happy, to her home and the people that loved her, you and Diego loved her too.
“I know,” he said softly. “Just. It’ll be weird once she’s gone.”
You bit your lip, considering the words that bubbled up your throat before letting them fall from your tongue, nearly as impulsive as your marriage proposal.
“Ya know...we could...get a dog of our own?” you shrugged, trying to play off the idea as a casual thought.
~
It was hard not to be overwhelmed by the smell and sound within the shelter’s kennel area, over two dozen dogs baying, barking, and bouncing on the chain-link fencing as the pair of you were led through to an open area where you could do some meet and greets.
Nervously you sat on the bench, fingers laced with Diego’s and running your thumb back and forth over his knuckles.
“Hey,” he said, leaning in to whisper in your ear. “Talk to me.”
You shrugged, biting your lip. “I dunno. This just feels big, suddenly. And what if we can’t find one that likes both of us, or what if we fuck it up. I’ve never...taken care of another living thing before. Not by myself.”
“You take care of me all the time,” he said, tugging you into a hug. “And you won’t be alone. We’re in this together remember?”
Your smile was watery but genuine as you returned the hug, burying your face against his neck.
“How did I ever do shit without you?” you murmured, backing away but not fully letting go.
He didn’t have a chance to respond with more than a squeeze of your joined hands as Martin returned with the first dog.
“I thought we’d start with some one-on-one interactions with a few dogs I think would be a good fit based on what you told me, and then we’ll see who clicks and you can have some time to play with the top two or three, pick from there.”
You nodded, holding your hand, palm out, toward the black lab tugging at the leash he held. He introduced her as Sheila, and while she seemed friendly, your heart wasn’t in it. The same feeling continued through several other perfectly nice dogs, and though you were both tempted by a roly-poly border collie puppy and by a sweet but very lazy bulldog, as soon as the handler had left the room with them, you’d looked at each other and known it wasn’t right.
“Can we...maybe, just walk through the kennels and see if something I don’t know...calls to us?” you asked hesitantly after about the eighth dog you felt no real connection with.
“Oh!” the man looked surprised you had even suggested it and took a long moment to process the request. “Sure, we can do that.”
Wrapping his arm around your shoulder, Diego pulled you against his side as the pair of you followed Martin back into the kennels.
“You know we don’t have to find a dog today, right?” he asked softly, sensing your continued nerves. “If nothing here works out, we’ll keep looking.”
“I know,” you sighed. “I just…got really excited, and now I feel like we failed or something.”
“Well, we haven’t yet.”
Suddenly, you stopped short, jerking Diego along with you, so quickly that your guide didn’t even notice. Staring up at you, his black fur almost lost in shadow but for his white bib, the boxer gave you the biggest, saddest eyes you had ever seen. Crouching down, you tentatively reached your hand outward, pressing it against the chainlink.
“Hi…” you cooed as he edged forward, crawling on his belly until he could sniff and then attempt to lick your fingers from the other side.
Diego mirrored your stance, kneeling in front of the kennel door, and by the time Martin realized you were no longer behind him and doubled back, the pair of you were enraptured and the dog was no longer cowering, instead bouncing and pawing at the fence to try and get to you, tongue lolling out of his mouth and slobbering on as much of you as he could reach.
“Oh,” he said, sounding almost disappointed. “You met Duncan…trust me, you don’t want him.”
“What?” you asked, whipping your head around to look at the man. “Why not?”
“He was born here, runt of the litter so for a while no one wanted him. Now he’s almost two and he’s ended up back here from four homes already. Can’t figure out why, but he just doesn’t work out.”
“Well there must be something going on,” you argued. “Or else that wouldn’t be true right?”
Martin shrugged. “I guess. But it ain’t my place. I just know the poor bastard’s probably going to live his whole life in there.”
“No,” Diego said, turning to you and smiling when you gave him a brief nod. “Because we’ll take him.”
“I really don’t think that’s a good idea. And it seems cruel to give him false hope a fifth time.”
“It won’t be false. We won’t give up on him,” you insisted. “I understand wanting to protect him, and us, but please. Just...trust us.”
“You’re sure there’s not another dog you want instead?”
“No,” Diego said firmly. “We want Duncan.”
At the sound of his name from Diego’s mouth, his ears perked up and he sat down patiently, expectantly almost.
We know a thing or two about loving the unloved, you wanted to say, this was fate you wanted to argue. But how could you even begin?
“Let’s go take care of the paperwork and...see what my boss says.”
~
Later that night, as you rested your head against Diego’s chest on the couch, not really watching the movie on the tv, you found yourself anxiously drumming your fingers on his knee.
“Y/N,” he said knowingly, catching and stilling your hand, rubbing his thumb soothingly over your knuckles.
“Do you think they’ll approve us?” you asked, voicing the question on both your minds.
“I don’t know. We just have to wait,” he chuckled, shaking his head as you opened your mouth to interrupt, “patiently. And see what happens. Hope it’ll work out.”
You groaned. “Why do you have to be right all the time?”
“It’s a carefully honed talent.”
~
Diego’s keys jingled in the doorknob and you held your breath, praying that your companion would stay quiet.
“Just another minute boy,” you muttered.
As soon as you heard the door shut behind your husband, you let go of Duncan’s collar and he bounded over, his entire body wriggling along with his stubby tail. Diego swore, startled by the dog’s sudden appearance from around the corner, and you couldn’t help laughing as you followed, more sedately behind.
“Wha—” Diego said, kneeling to ruffle Duncan’s ears, leaning away as his lolling tongue tried to lick his newly accessible face.
“You didn’t steal him did you?” he asked, teasing smile lighting his features.
“I am hurt and offended that you would even suggest such a thing,” you said dramatically, a hand pressed to your chest for effect. “This was completely legitimate, and Duncan is now our dog. Or technically my dog, until you go sign your copy of the adoption contract tomorrow morning.”
“That’s...we have a dog…” he breathed, shock settling over him.
“Diego, are you crying?” you asked gently, concern overriding your amusement.
He was silent and you moved to his side, sitting down, next to your husband and dog and wrapping an arm around each of them.
“They’re happy tears right?” you asked, feeling some of your own building as it suddenly struck you that this right here was a family, a happy family, and all your own.
“The happiest,” he murmured, managing a quick kiss to your temple just before the moment was broken by Duncan licking a long stripe up his cheek and flopping over onto your laps for a belly rub, sending you both into a fit of laughter.
End Note: Is a studio apartment an appropriate space for a boxer? Should inexperienced owners adopt a dog that the shelter thinks is a “problem” dog? Probably not, as a rule. But individual dogs have individual needs, they’re active-lifestyle adults, we’ll assume there’s a dog park nearby, and also it’s fiction and I think it’s cute, so...
Once everything is said and done and the Hargreeves don’t need to worry about impending apocalypses or rival academies, it takes them next to no time to realise that Five’s still a stabby gremlin even when he’s not trying to save the world. This includes, but isn’t limited to, numerous cups of coffee, a sleeping schedule ruined by spite and pure determination, and consuming a worrying amount of peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches.
In true Hargreeves fashion, do they try and talk to him? No. Do they mention a healthier routine? Absolutely not. Do they totally make bets on who can catch him, make him bath, and get him to sleep properly first? Of course they fricking do.
It goes great.
Luther takes to finding Five whenever he’s in one place for more than ten seconds and sliding up next to him, as casual as he can be, and going, “So, no more apocalypse, huh?” or “Being alone for years sucks, am I right?” He doesn’t get very far, but he and Five do end up sharing a bottle of whiskey after the third attempt, so he counts their shared drunken coma as a semi win.
Diego hides everything in house with even the slightest hints of caffeine in it, goes out with Grace to buy tons of healthy food, and then spends days trying to work out how Five’s surviving without eating any of it. Only when he breaks into Five’s room and finds hundreds of take away coffee cups from Griddy’s does he remember that Five can teleport and is 100% stubborn enough to go all the ways to Griddy’s and back any time he wants something just to piss Diego off.
Allison, being the sibling with the most amount of brain cells at any one time, goes for Five’s true weakness - Family. Or, more accurately, Claire. She brings her daughter over to the mansion, and then has to go run errands with Grace or whoever’s about, leaving Five in charge of a giggling, easily distracted child who, she knows, he will absolutely make sure eats when she’s supposed to and sleeps when bedtimes comes around.
She’s wrong. She’s very, very wrong. And has to spend days switching Claire’s routine back from one that’s basically nocturnal because when Claire suggested that they play werewolves and vampires, and Five suggested they add a touch of realism to their game and stay awake all night and sleep in the day (sleep, for him, meaning pretending to sleep until Claire drifts off and then continuing on as normal.)
“I hate you.” She whispers, struggling to keep Claire awake in the middle of the afternoon. “So much.”
“You reap what you sow, sis.”
Klaus is invested in all of five minutes before he ultimately gives up on doing anything that would actually contribute. His best attempt is a box propped up with a stick which is tried to a piece of rope in the middle of the corridor, a cup of black coffee and a sandwich sat underneath. Five never appears, but he does manage to attract three cockroaches and a rat. The rat then ate one of the cockroaches.
Ben’s attempt is less obvious, and carried out by a reluctant Klaus. Slowly, over time so he doesn’t notice straight away, they take off the plastic sleeve covers of the science books in the library and put them over books about addiction, isolation, insomnia, in the hopes that Five will be too tired to notice until he’s halfway through reading and will start unconsciously following the advice.
The next time Ben and Klaus go to their room, they find a dictionary on the bed with the word ‘subtly’ circled with bright red marker.
Vanya is the one to finally crack it, because she takes one glance at her siblings, takes one look at Five, and knows exactly what, and who, Five will listen to.
She waits until Five is in the kitchen, on his umpteenth black coffee and skimming over the day’s paper.
“Hey Five.”
“Hi.”
“I went clothes shopping today.”
“Uh-huh.”
“Saw Dolores while I was there.”
“That’s nice.”
“She told me to tell you to take a bath and go to bed.”
Five, already heading upstairs. “Right, will do.”
Vanya officially wins bragging rights for the rest of the year and Five sleeps for ten hours straight.
Later – after Klaus had wrapped his lips around Dave and sucked and sucked until Dave couldn’t think straight, and they were walking over to meet the others at Griddy’s – Klaus said matter-of-factly, “Have you ever tried any butt stuff?”
Dave choked and glanced around the street, checking to see if they’d been overheard.
“No,” he whispered, cheeks Mamie pink. “No anal experience. Obviously.”
“I know you haven’t with anyone else,” Klaus said in his regular voice. “But I wondered whether you had on your own.”
Dave looked over at him. His ears felt hot. “Well…” Dave admitted slowly. “I have thought about trying… that… But, I dunno… I haven’t yet.” Dave swallowed. “Did you, you know, try it on your own before you… well… Did you try it on your own first?”
“Yeah. For sure.” Klaus answered casually. “I definitely wanted to try sticking my own finger up my bum while I was having a wank before I let anyone else stick anything in there.”
Dave choked again.
“Klaus!” He whispered. “Keep your voice down!”
“Oh, no one’s listening.” Klaus looked around conspicuously. “And nobody cares anyway.”
Dave grumbled slightly, his face still a little pink as he looked around them furtively.
Klaus glanced over at him as they walked. “So?” he said, “any thoughts?”
“Can’t actually say that surprises me much,” Dave said and Klaus grinned. Dave swallowed. “Do you… recommend that course of action?”
Klaus laughed again. “Dave, baby, sometimes you sound like a closeted old man from an old black and white film, half scandalised and half super horny.”
Dave grumbled again and gently pretended to elbow Klaus in the ribs. “Shut up,” he said, “not all of us grew up as openly not-straight as you.”
“I know, sorry,” Klaus said genuinely.
They walked a little further in quiet, comfortable silence.
“So,” Dave said finally, “what’s it like?”
“Anal in general, or self-exploration?” Klaus asked.
“Self-exploration.” Dave clarified.
“Well,” Klaus wrinkled his nose. “How should I put this delicately for your sensitive, out-in-public ears…? I think it’s definitely better if you’re… prepared. And I don’t just mean lubed up, I mean as clean and empty as possible.”
Dave hummed, thinking.
“And also, for the record,” Klaus added, “spit really isn’t good enough to use for lube.” He paused and pulled a face. “Well, not unless you’re really desperate. Like this one time I’d met this guy and he wanted to…” But Klaus cut himself off, glancing quickly at Dave’s face. “Never mind.”
“You can tell me, you know.” Dave said gently. “I know you’ve had… experiences. It doesn’t bother me. And it won’t make me think any less of you.”
Klaus sighed. “Met a guy in a club. Decided to hook up. He wanted to stick it in me. He convinced me spit would work fine. I was horny enough and off my face enough to go along with it. It ended up having mixed results.”
“You got off but it hurt like hell?”
“Pretty much.” Klaus gave a self-deprecating little smile. Dave reached over, slipped his hand into Klaus’ and gave a little squeeze.
“Trust you to be sweet and understanding and non-judgmental,” Klaus looked over at Dave and gave him a genuine little smile.
“Trust you to be brash and open and honest and bring me out of me shell and help me be myself in public,” Dave replied, glancing pointedly down at their joined hands.
They held each other’s gaze and let the moment sit between them.
“So,” Klaus said tentatively, after they’d walked in comfortable silence for a while. “Do you think that might be something you’d be interested in exploring at some point?”
“Getting rough fucked by a stranger in the men’s bathroom in a seedy club?” Dave asked. “Sign me up.”
Klaus snorted. “Actually, it was in an alley behind the bins.”
“Well in that case,” Dave pretended to reconsider, “I’ll stick to making love to my boyfriend in puddles of green silk, bathed in golden afternoon light.”
“Oh, you hopeless romantic,” Klaus sighed, rolling his eyes. But Dave saw the smile he tried to hide by biting his lip.
“But, yeah,” Dave said. “The answer to your question is yes. Anal is something I’m interested in exploring. Definitely.”
Klaus grinned. “Solo?” he asked. Dave could tell he was trying to keep his voice casual. “Or…?”
“I want to go there with you, Klaus.” Dave said simply.
Klaus looked over at him quickly and Dave caught his eye and smiled.
They were approaching Griddy’s now, but just as they were turning up the slope to the door, Dave turned to Klaus.
“What does it actually feel like?”
Klaus rearranged their fingers, threading his through Dave’s. “Bit weird, to be honest,” he said. “There’s pressure. It’s hard to get anything in if you’re even slightly tense. Honestly, you can’t always get the best angle when you’re trying to do it to yourself. But when you do get the right angle. Fuck, Dave! It’s like a fucking firework show going off inside you.” He squeezed Dave’s fingers and glanced over at him. “You know what, I’m kind of hoping you don’t want to try this solo the first time now. But that’s completely selfish, because I just want to see the look on your face the first time you find your prostate.” Dave could feel his cheeks heating up again and was sure his ears must be flaming red. He looked over at Klaus and the little tease just winked.
“I’ll tell you one thing though,” Klaus added, “While trying it in the shower is a good idea from the point of view of clean up, it’s also very slippery. Particularly if you get a bit… carried away.” Dave groaned and Klaus grinned. “Just don’t tell Diego and the others that’s how the shower door got broken!”
Dave’s eyes went wide and Klaus grinned and winked at him. Then he pulled open the door to Griddy’s, raised his hand in greeting and bounded over to his siblings and their friends, a ball of light and energy and slightly chaotic enthusiasm. And Dave followed, helplessly pulled along in his wake. He knew he was powerless to fight it, but even if he could, he also knew he wouldn’t even want to try.
Indestructible  (Klaus x Reader x Vanya)
Ep. Number 5
Warning: Mention of drugs (cocaine/weed are abused in this series), Swearing, Pretty gay, Female POV but can be easily changed if needed, SPOILERS, it follows the same story line as the show so there’s a ton, gore
Word Count: 1.8k
“What’re you doing under there?” You asked Klaus who was digging under his bed. He popped his head out, grinning at you wildly.
“Come here,” He waved you over. You cautiously took a seat on the floor next to him. He pulled out a baggie underneath the Polaroids of the two of you.
“Klaus is that-”
“Maybe,” He smiled, he was tired, but still the excitement of doing something he shouldn't overtook the guilt that weighed on him as his deceased brother looked over his shoulder disappointingly. “It helps quiet things down.” He explained looking behind you at a tall dark figures hiding in the corners of his room.
You watched, mesmerized by the fluidity of his motions as he skillfully rolled a joint, sticking the filtered end into his mouth before digging into the box to find a lighter. He took a long hit, coughing a little before passing it to you.
You stared at your friend’s latest fix. Looking up at him as he exhaled shoulders relaxing as the smoke left his lungs. You craved that peace. The quiet he spoke of. You breathed in the smoke for the first time,
and for the first time it felt like you could breathe.
//
Diego wordlessly drove you back to Griddy’s where you had your car towed to by the nice man in the truck for the low low price of a thirty second hand job. You played with your hands, feeling absolutely sick to your stomach. How could you have let this happen. Sometimes- Most of the time it felt like you were the only one there for Klaus. You had always been there for him. Even Diego hadn't been the one to bail him out of jail half the time. Or checked up on him while he was in rehab. Hell, to check in with him in rehab. Maybe you weren't the best influences on each other a lot of the time but you had always been there.
“I'm sorry,” You started not looking up at Diego. His jaw clenched. You still had hope for Klaus. Diego knew Patch was gone.
“It’s not your fault.” He croaked trying to keep his voice steady.
“I could have done something-”
“”Drop it.” You stopped, bowing your head in shame and worry. He signed feeling sorry for snapping but not having the energy to apologize. “Go on.” He says pulling up next to your car. You give him a weak but appreciative smile, getting in your car. He nods and backs out of the parking lot, wiping away a stray tear.
You wait for him to leave before settling into the back seat, an old shirt of Vanya’s as a pillow.
//
“You have beautiful hair.” You smile, running your hands through her soft, dark strands. It was late. You should be in your room but you were dazed and a little high still, just wanting to be close to someone.
“You’re high.” She sighed, looking away, the moonbeams accentuate the exhaustion on her face. She was still so lovely, and you were sure you looked worse. On her back, her hands on her stomach, her chest ached as you cuddled into her side. She had never felt this way before and she wasn't quite sure what this was.
“Only a little, but you’re always beautiful.” You say dreamily, nuzzling her shoulder. After a moment of silence you ask a question you had been wandering yourself for a couple months now, “Vanya,” She turns her head slightly, still shy but wanting to look at you. “Have you ever been kissed?” She hadn’t left the Academy more that thrice in the last year, even less the year before. The answer was a simple no. In her sixteen years of living she hadn’t known anyone but her siblings. Who would she have kissed?
“No,” She whispered embarrassed, a little curious, definitely anxious as you lifted yourself to get a better look at her. Your face hovered over her’s, eyes flickering down to her lips.
“Do you want to be?
//
You stumbled down the sidewalk, Agnes had found you that morning shivering and whimpering in your sleep. She woke you up by knocking softly on the car window. Handing you a cup of coffee and asking if she could do anything to help. You smiled softly thanking her but ultimately having a mission. You had to find Klaus.
A couple blocks away from Griddy’s and you saw a small explosion followed by wails that sounded far too familiar. You raced around the corner finally finding Klaus, hunched over a broken suitcase, bits and pieces of it shattered. You called his name bending down beside him and taking his head in your lap. He sobbed clinging on to you as if his life depended on it.
You hugged him close letting his cries die down until no sound was left. You had never heard anything like it from him. He was absolutely distraught. Tears of your own pooled in your eyes as both relief and dread settled into your chest.
Finally you got him to stand, your arm wrapped around his ribs as you made your way to the only home you had left.
“You want me to make you some tea?” You asked softly, he had complained of a headache.
“Coffee actually, thanks,” He sighed, scratching his chest and settling on his childhood bed.
“Okay,” You smile softly at him, the expression quickly fading as you turned around and headed to the kitchen. He hadn't wanted to talk about it when you got home and you let that be. What he had been through in the past forty eight hours, calling it horrific couldn't begin to describe it.
By the time you had made the coffee, Five was speaking to Klaus who looked dazed and annoyed. Five whipped around and glared at you, you stared back at him. “Get out,” He exclaimed, frustrated by your ignoring his glare as you handed Klaus the coffee. He took it gratefully smiling up at you weakly before downing the cup. You looked at the kid, handing him your mug of coffee thinking he probably needed it more.
“I'm trying to have a serious conversation with my brother.” He took the mug anyway, chugging it faster than Klaus had. You looked over at him, he shrugged exhausted and defeated. You go to say something but leave, emotionally drained from the day's events as well.
But you felt the urge to look for the people who had done this to Klaus. You felt the rage in the pit of your stomach burn and you pushed through the tiredness from your two basically sleepless nights.
“-Interrogation over.” Klaus huffs, leaving to go after you but by the time he makes it outside you’re gone.
//
A knock on the car window makes Diego and Klaus jump, seeing it's you Diego rolls down the window. “You guys suck at hiding.”
“What’re you doing here?”
“Same as you, I'm getting revenge,” You smirk.
“They'll see you,” Diego hissed. You shrug looking up at the mostly abandoned motel.
“”They know why I'm here,” You say looking up and catching Hazel’s gaze. You flip him off smiling grimly.
“Get in.” You slip into the backseat digging into your jacket pulling out the gun you got the other night.
“I have a gun.” You say after a pause, making Diego whip around to see if you were joking or not.
“Why?!” He exclaimed reaching for it, you pull it out of his reach, as Klaus looks at you amusingly.
“I traded with my roommate for it.” You grin.
“Jen?” He asks.
“Mhm, well it wasn’t exactly a trade, she was like give me your drugs, bitch,” You gesture with the weapon, making Diego flinch, “and I said, Jen, please put it down, and she just kept yelling so I went and got the drugs and she threw the gun at me and told me to get out, and I mean even without any weapons she's pretty intimidating-”
“Where are you staying?” Diego asked, now more concerned than he was before.
“In my car, “ You say casually, Klaus gave you a worried look, suddenly feeling guilty he hadn't thought about that before. “So now I have like three outfits, from when I was staying in my car last year, no drugs, and a gun.” You explain counting the things off on your fingers.
“Gimme that-'' Diego wrestled you for the gun, reaching behind the driver seat to get it. You yell as he snatched it from your hands.
“Stop! That's one of my only possessions, I gave everything for that!” You pout.
“Relax we were gonna use it for the same reason anyway.” He mutters checking to make sure the gun was loaded.
“Oh. Okay well, go get em, sport,” You grin almost sarcastically, patting his shoulder and exiting the car.
“Where are you going?”
“Well, I was gonna use the gun on them, but since you took it from me, I’ll just have to use my hands,” You smile wildly at Diego's shocked expression. He holds you back from climbing the back stairs of the motel, pushing you back into Klaus who had stepped out with his brother.
“You two stay here.” He states not waiting for a response before sneaking discreetly but efficiently up the stairs.
“Are you seriously staying in your car?” Klaus asks, concerned etched in his tone.
“Yeah, where else would I go?”
“The Academy? Vanya's place?” You laugh at the thought. You had put her through enough over the years. “And you’re sober?”
“I had to be, I was looking for you,” You say looking over at him as you trailed behind Diego. “And I have no money,” You tease taking a breath as you two finally catch up to Diego.
“Don't wait up,” You smile racing ahead of the two. You turn a corner into the open motel room. Empty. “Shit,” A shot rings out outside and Diego groans in pain. You sprint and take the gun from his hand, turning and shooting at the vehicle speeding up the street, hitting and shattering the back window and just barely missing one of the back tires. Another shot is heard but you barely notice as you sigh, having let them escape once again.
“Holy shit, (Y/N),” Klaus exclaims holding a hunched Diego, his eyes glued to your abdomen. You look down to see the wound bleeding through your sweater.
“I'm keeping this.” You state calmly about the gun, aiming to finish what you started. You turn the corner before writhing in pain. Maybe Klaus was right. Maybe Vanya would take you in, at least for the night. You struggle up the street, gripping your stomach, she was only a couple blocks away.
//
“What about my family.” Five muttered.
What about them” The Handler spoke, unamused.
“I want them to survive.”
“All of them?”
“Yes, all of them,” he paused looking over at Klaus, “And that (Y/N), I want her alive to.”
The Handler chuckled, “Well you don't have to worry about that,” She grinned. Five gave her a suspicious look. She shrugged “I'll see what I can do,”
Everything Wrong With The Umbrella Academy. Episode 5, Number Five.
We Only See Each Other at Weddings and Funerals
Run Boy Run
Extra Ordinary
Man on the Moon
Disclaimer: This is all in good fun! I wanted to do a really nitpicky re-watch of the series and found some really cool and interesting things I didn’t notice before. This is meant to have a Cinema Sins-esque tone. However, I did take off a lot more sins than Cinema Sins would have because I do genuinely like the series and the people that made it possible. So all of the good things got one sin off and all the bad things got one sin added. This is a really long post, so grab some popcorn. If there’s anything that I missed, feel free to add it!
I would also like to add that normally you wouldn’t watch a show this way. I am purposefully looking for mistakes, easter eggs, and other things that we’re not supposed to notice. I am watching not with the goal of entertainment, but for analysis. So most of the things that I sin, I am seeing for the first time.
Number Five
The apocalypse looks incredible. Well done special effects team! I know I already shouted them out, but they deserve another one. Or two. -2
Five shades Dolores with an umbrella. What a considerate dude. -1
Heat of the Moment is an awesome song. -1
Five’s survival gear. Well done costume department. -2
Also, the progression of skill and age is really well done. -1
Dolores’s little santa hat. -1
And her sunglasses. -1
“Do you remember that little mansion just outside city limits where we-- yeah” Noodle incident. However, the way Five says this implies that I really, really don’t wanna know. +1
Argyle Public Library. Suddenly the reason why Five went there makes sense. -1
How did Five get all the way up there on the library walls? Did he use a ladder? If so, that was begging for him to fall and break his name. +1
Sean Sullivan (who plays Old Man Five) does an excellent job imitating Aidan Gallagher’s vocal patterns and movements. -1
The Handler is the first person Five sees after 45 years of isolation. +1
Title screen lunch box! -1
Also, Five kept a lunch box to remind him of his family. He had Vanya’s book but nothing else with their images on it. I’m sad now, but glad that Five at least had something. -1
Five is so hungover. +1
Luther looks like he’s about to cry when Five tells him about finding their dead bodies. My boy! +1
Tom Hopper is an excellent actor. -1
Five also looks like he’s about to cry. +1
Aidan Gallagher is an excellent actor. -1
Luther lifts up Diego and holds him like Diego is an angry toddler. This amuses me. -1
See! I told you. Diego figured out that Five was involved with the shootings at Griddys and Gimbel Brothers on Patch’s doorstep! -1
“They work for my former employer. A woman called The Handler.” No one in this show is allowed to have a reasonable name. +1
Underneath how callous Five is about Patch’s death, he shows genuine concern for Diego. -1
Diego has not slept at all. And he is planning to go after Hazel and Cha Cha. Good luck with that, buddy. +1
Luther finally gets tired of Five vagueing everybody. Good job, I’m curious too. Er, I was when this was my first time watching it. -1
The Handler decides to wear three inch red pumps to the apocalypse. +1
The Handler is as vague as a Multi Level Marketing schemer would be.+1
The Commission decides to wait 45 years to recruit Five instead of a more reasonable number. Like zero years. Honestly, if I was the Handler, I would have picked up Five as a young, impressionable thirteen year old. Then he would feel indebted to the Commission and wouldn’t have had time to come up with the equations to escape. The Commission has no logical reasoning skill. +1
“You’re saying that I could actually leave here? Go...go back?” Heartbreaking. Sean Sullivan gets another sin off. -1
“All of this, was supposed to happen”. Kate Walsh is a kick ass actress. -1
The Commission is composed of dicks. +1
Five asks Dolores for permission before running off to join The Commission. -1
Five’s mustache. +1
I would watch a spin off of Five’s time in the Commission. Hopefully season 2 explores this more. Dallas plot, here we come? Sin until we get some answers. +1
You can see Five’s epiphany in his eyes. His expression says “I’ve got it! I’ve got it!” -1
The words on Vanya’s book look real. The props department did not have to go that hard. -2
However, whatever notes Five wrote are indecipherable. And for good reason if he was attempting to fool an entire time commission. -1
The fire extinguisher Klaus throws confirms for Five that the portal works. -1
Also, Five is clutching Vanya’s book. It’s like he’s nervous to see them again after so much time. -1
The fall from the portal to the ground doesn’t break, scratch, or hurt Five at all. +1
Also, Dallas plot foreshadowing? Remains a sin until we have answers. +1
I hope that they show Five picking up his hat, radio, gun, and possibly the fire extinguisher and that is why we never found any of those in a grassy knoll. Season 2 better resolve this. +1
“But that’s murder”. Luther, you threw people out of buildings when you were twelve years old. That is also murder. +1
Aidan Gallagher kills the delivery in this scene. Well done. -1
Klaus still has Dave’s blood on his hands. Also, putting Klaus through even more trauma. +1
Robert Sheehan and the heartbroken thousand yard stare. -1
The music choice really works. -1
That emotional, awful scream. -1
The briefcase exploding may foreshadow Klaus’s comic powers. Sin until we get answers. +1
Hazel and Cha Cha casually murdered Claudia. +1
“Unauthorized round trip travel to 1968”. This is how we found out where Klaus went. It requires a bit more brain power to figure out the Vietnam war from here, however, I think that this was a clever way to do it. It brings us back to the reason Klaus ended up there. -1
Honestly, Hazel was right to not carry the briefcase on him. If Five had seen it at Gimbel Brothers then he would have taken it because he knows what it is. It would be an insurance policy or could be used as leverage. Either way, Hazel and Cha Cha were going to lose their briefcase. +1
Allison, you were there when Vanya made breakfast plans with Leonard. Is the coffee and bombolini your way of trying to distract Vanya? Because based on the makeup and the nice scarf, it isn’t likely that you will be successful. +1
Vanya has a framed piece of sheet music. Either that’s some really valuable manuscript or its something kitschy. Either way, it’s a sin. +1
“What are you concerned about?” Vanya, the red flags are everywhere. +1
“Like a woman who’s based her whole life on rumors.” Ouch. Allison is trying to give you genuine advice, Vanya. This was uncalled for.  +1
Leonard is getting progressively creepier. +1
“Can you imagine sharing your birthday with six world-famous assholes who all know they’re better than you?” Choke on that irony. +1
Leonard doesn’t stop her by saying, “Wait, that’s salt!” he waits until she already put salt in it.  Dick. +1
“What happened to the other girl?” Harold, you know damn well. +1
Good use of Beethoven. -1
Klaus is back in the bath. Bookends to his tourture. +1
Klaus is haunted by memories of Vietnam this time instead of just ghosts in general. Trauma. +1
I made eye contact with Aidan Gallagher again. +1
Klaus doesn’t want to talk about Vietnam with Five because the last time he tried to connect, Five jumped away. +1
Five looks really excited to connect about time travel with somebody in his family. -1
Five doesn’t care that Klaus was tortured by Hazel and Cha Cha. +1
Five, Klaus has been tortured and then was in some war (Five wouldn’t know yet) for almost a year. This proves that Five’s decision making is impared. Presumably by his hangover. +1
Diego takes out his dagger from episode 1’s bank robbery. This is significant because of something Patch said. That Diego runs around as a vigilante to prove that what he did with the Umbrella Academy had meaning. Now that that has gotten Patch killed indirectly, he feels upset and confused. The dagger that he used as a child is now a symbol of what he did to Patch. -1
The fridging of Detective Patch. Yes, I’m still pissed about it and will continue to be pissed about it. +2
At this point, Klaus doesn’t know about Mom’s “death”. And I don’t think Five does either. The Umbrella Academy of Not Talking To Each Other should be the school’s full name. +1
Allison and Cha Cha don’t see each other when getting into or out of the chairs right across from one another. +1
Allison is doing the equivalent of social media stalking her sister’s boyfriend. Smart. -1
Extra Ordinary bites everyone in the ass. Thanks, Vanya. +1
Five and Allison have the same slow, blocky handwriting. Did Reggie teach them to write as slowly and as large as possible? +1
Hazel and Agnes’s flirting. It’s cute? -1
Klaus ran down the stairs wearing Grace’s heels and broke his jaw when they were twelve. Trauma. +1
Diego can’t park for shit either. Diego and Five need to learn how to park vehicles. +1
Klaus’s little “Hey, Dave” when he sees Dave’s picture. -1
The show fakes out the vet confronting Klaus. Clever. -1
Diego is genuinely concerned for Klaus. -1
The vet is itching for a fight. Asking a drunk person to apologize? Dumbass. +1
“I’d like to apologize...that you are depriving some village of their IDIOT!” -1
Klaus and Diego get into a bar fight in less than five minutes. Checks out. -1
Agnes sees the birds the way Hazel sees normal people. I like the analogy. -1
Agnes does not own Griddys. Who does? Is she the manager or something? +1
Hazel and Agnes theme. -1
Diego’s face when Klaus says he lost the only person he ever loved more than himself. He’s thinking, “Klaus lost his Eudora”. -1
No way in hell Five would have been able to get up as high as the chalk goes. +1
Five is still using Vanya’s book as a notebook. Checks out. -1
The rifle Five pulls out looks a lot like the one he points at the Handler. It doesn’t look like the one he pointed at Kennedy. Why would Five lie about this? +1
Luther, you murdered people when you were twelve. +1
Luther dangles Dolores out the window by her neck. Logical, yeah. Fucked, also yeah. +1
The level of concern Five has for Dolores. -1
Also, well done creating tension, show. My heart was beating like crazy. -1
The Gigue from Partita No. 2 in D Minor by Bach is one of my favorite pieces.  -1
No one stops playing like that. +1
Allison takes her not-stalking info to Vanya and presents it really accusingly. At this point, Vanya is sick of your shit, Allison. +1
“You’re trying to dig up dirt on a guy that I like, who does that?” Everyone with an internet connection does this for the people they care about. What Allison did was hella extra though. +1
Vanya is getting more assertive. -1
Vanya is a dick to Allison. +1
“They’re a real frickin’ mess”. Understatement of the century. +1
Cha Cha wouldn’t know about the moon mission because Vanya’s book came out before it. Also, Vanya wouldn’t know that Five could time travel. +1
Diego you haven’t slept at all, as soon as you drop you’re gonna sleep like a baby. +1
The motel clerk doesn’t notice Cha Cha’s pistol, which was directly in his line of sight. +1
Diego doesn’t notice Klaus’s footsteps. +1
“Yeah but you also told me that licking a nine-volt battery would give me pubes” “We were eight”. Sibling culture. -1
Klaus saves Diego from gunfire the best he can. Even though Diego still gets shot, sin off for Klaus’s heroics. -1
“Was this all part of your master plan” “Shut up”. Sibling culture. -1
Audition panels are always dicks. +1
If you start an audition the way Vanya just did with the shaky bow contact, you’re fucked. +1
Imogen is a great violinist. Ellen Page is not. It’s really easy to see when they switch out. +1
Allison goes to Leonard’s place with no backup. Come on, even Diego has backup! +1
Allison doesn’t tell Five and Diego about how she got into Leonard’s house when they were breaking in again later. The window would have been much better than breaking the door. +1
Vanya’s powers are distorting her music. It sounds like her intonation is gone. Yet the conductor looks impressed. +1
Allison almost finds Helen Cho’s body. +1
The camera cuts to the attic entrance to show that it will be significant later on. -1
The Hargreeves car has HERMES on its licence plate. A.) nice comics reference. B.) Hermes is the God of Travelers. C.) Of course Reggie has a vanity licence plate. -3
Five and Luther connecting over their forced isolation. -1
Also, Aidan Gallagher and Tom Hopper play off each other really well. -1
“I’ve lived a long life, but you’re still a young man. You got your whole life ahead of you. Don’t waste it.” Luther’s face amuses me. -1
Five threatening while Hazel and Cha Cha doesn’t look ridiculous. I genuinely belive it. Props to Aidan Gallagher. -1
Five and Luther look so confused by Klaus and Diego arriving in an ice cream truck. This is such an underrated scene. -3
Ride of the Valkyries -1
Klaus’s little wave. -1
“Whee” I love Ben. -2
I want to know how they shot this. The behind the scenes after the Handler showed up and stopped time must have been strange to look at. -1
Luther protects Five with his whole body without question. -1
Five puts his hands in his pockets but then they’re behind his back in the next shot with no motion to explain it. +1
The Handler is a creep. She’s into Five. +5
Where and When did Five get that pistol? +1
So many memes come from this scene. -2
Five doesn’t have his finger anywhere near the trigger in some shots, but in others it’s two seconds from shooting the Handler. What’s up with that? +1
The Handler is so, so creepy. The hand caressing Five’s cheek? Eww. That all but confirms that she wants to be his Mrs. Robinson. +5
Kate Walsh plays an excellent villain. -1
Five made a deal with the devil because it was his only option. -1
[Gerard Way and Ray Toro’s “Happy Together” playing.] -1
Cha Cha was planning to abandon Hazel. Otherwise why else would she open the briefcase? +1
Ben gets shotgun. -1
Klaus finally gets to flip off Hazel and Cha Cha. -3
“SHIIT” Cha Cha, you got played. I love my smart boys. -5
Vanya did well at her audition! I’m proud of her! -1
Leonard knows the exact words Reggie would have used to describe Vanya’s powers. And he uses them here. +1
“I got first chair!” Congratulations, Vanya! -2
“No one’s ever believed in me like this.” Fuck you, Reggie. +1
Having sex with Leonard/Harold desereves a couple sins. +2
Helen Cho and Reggie’s book reveal. Leonard is a creep confirmed. +2
Dr. Pogo? More like Dr. Complicit in Reggie’s Bullshit. +1
Overall Review:
In case you couldn’t tell, this is one of my favorite episodes. Finally, all of our characters are invested in the apocalypse plot, even indirectly. Vanya’s powers emerge, the Handler and the Commission enter the chat, and Leonard is revealed to be a murderer and to have Reggie’s diary. Things are really heating up in this episode.
I had a really hard time finding anything wrong that wasn’t character flaw is character flaw and villain character is a villain. This is a fun episode. If I wanted to show someone an episode of The Umbrella Academy to get them hooked onto the show, I would show them this episode. It moves at a perfect pace and has enough mystery to keep everyone on their toes. When I first watched this episode, I decided to stay up all night and binge the rest of them. Before I was watching one every couple of days. Episode five is what really hooked me. Props to everyone that worked on it!
I want to give a special shout out to Sean Sullivan. He did really well playing Five! I hope we see him in season 2 for that one scene. If you’ve read the comics then you know the one.
Sins: 4
Sentence: Watching Klaus’s breakdown after Vietnam was more than punishment enough.
The Pros and Cons of a Rom Com at Comic Con (sorry): Robert Sheehan X Reader
This is a request from @roma-echelon:
I need a dirty smut one with robert sheehan and meeting him at comic con.
Thanks for the request.  I hope you like it!
Warnings: Smut, Drinking, Swearing, etc.
Word Count: 1,300
__________________________________________________________
Your best friends always accused you of being a nihilist, a hedonist, and bad with money. So when you won a lottery scratch off ticket they weren’t surprised that you decided to spend the money taking everyone to comic-con instead of investing in the future. Besides, it was $10,000, not exactly a life-altering amount of money. You wouldn’t be quitting your job. And just because you saw the world as the flaming garbage pile that it is, didn’t mean you were incapable of having fun.
The night before the con, the three of you got drunk together in your hotel room and decided to perform a love spell that one of you found online. It was a drunken, misguided attempt to make the celebrities at the con fall in love with you. You each lit a candle and dropped some rose petals into a bowl of water, then slurred your way through the chant until you got bored.
It was all a blur the next morning. All it took was some coffee and room service to rid yourself of a slight hangover while you got dressed in your cosplay. You decided to be a waitress at Griddy’s donut shop. Your name tag said “Rose,” just because you liked the name and didn’t see yourself as an “Agnes.” The retro pink waitress uniform really suited you and the white canvas sneakers would keep you comfortable walking from from panel to panel all day.
Your friends decided to split up while you went downstairs to see the Dark Horse Comics panel. The only other person on the elevator wore Hazel’s character mask from the show. You started to look closer at your elevator companion and recognized something familiar about him. He was tall, lean, and sort of androgynous in his purple tank top and low waisted jeans. You concluded that either this person had the same body type, skin tone, and fashion sense as Robert Sheehan or he was under that mask.
“Hey,” he said, nodding politely.
“Hey.” You were trying not to stare.
He lifted the bottom of the mask to take a sip from a Starbucks cup. One muffled syllable was not enough to detect an accent, but you’d know those lips anywhere. The elevator suddenly stopped and Robbie took off the rubber mask.
“Shit,” he hissed. In your shock, it took a moment to realize what he was upset about. The elevator had stopped between floors. You were stuck. Robbie tried all the buttons, checked his phone, then tried them again.
“We’re stuck…I’ll call somebody.” He attempted a call. “I don’t have reception, do you?”
You pretended to check your phone. “Nope.”
“You a fan of the show?” He said, low key checking you out.
“It’s alright,” you answered as casually as possible.
“I like your cosplay.”
“Thanks,” you smirked, leaning against the wall.
His green eyes sparkled as they studied your face. “Hey, would you want to…”
You cut him off with a kiss. Your bodies inched closer. You parted your lips for his tongue to explore. His taste was sweet, his scent intoxicating.
A loud ringing startled you out of your dream like state. It was coming from the elevator call box. Robbie cleared his throat and picked up the receiver inside the box. His voice on the phone was calm and gracious as he shifted the stiff bulge in his pants and made an assortment of funny faces just to make you laugh.
“Thank you,” he said hanging up, then turned his focus back to you. “We have ten minutes until they fix this thing.”
You lunged at each other with breathless desperation. Your faces smashed together, your tongues entwined and your hands searched frantically for a way out of your clothes. Robbie took care of your top few buttons while you worked on his fly. He was inspired by your height difference to slide you up against the wall. You gasped as your feet left the ground. He held your gaze while he pulled one of your lace bra cups down just enough to expose your hardened nipple then suckled it until you whimpered.
He hiked up your pink dress and brushed his knee between your legs. It was summer and the only thing you had on were a thin pair of matching lace panties. You pleaded with your eyes while you pawed at his jeans. He was teasing you. He gently bounced you on his knee a few times then eased you down. You sighed, aching for more contact. That’s when he reached under your dress, pulled your panties to the side and plunged his fingers into the heart of your wetness.
He closed his eyes and groaned. “You’re so fucking wet. You want this?”
You nodded and rasped. “Fuck…me…now.”
He quickly unzipped his jeans and pushed them down around his ankles. His cock was just as beautiful as the rest of him. He relieved you of your panties, picked you up once again and buried himself deep inside you. Your pussy stretched to accommodate him while he pumped inside you. You wrapped your legs around him and threw your head back against the wall. His hands were firmly cupping your ass and his head was buried in your neck.
He pounded into you again and again with growing speed. You moaned at the sensations taking over. The upward angle of his thrusting stimulated your clit and created the perfect storm. You came so hard you didn’t even hear the emergency response team outside attempting to pry the doors open. He came an instant later. You studied his face as the pleasure washed over him. You captured the memory and tucked it away as you became aware of the people outside. You kissed him on the forehead and mentally prepared yourself for the awkward goodbye.
Outside the clanging of tools got louder as a small crack of light shown through the top third of the elevator doors. It was not quite enough for the workers to see what was happening inside, but it meant that rescue was imminent. Both of you rushed to put your clothes back on. Robbie smiled and took your hand. “Can I have your number?”
“Um, yeah.” He handed you his phone open to contacts. He had typed the name “Rose.” It wasn’t his fault that wasn’t your real name, but it sort of brought you back down to reality. You filled in your number and decided to just move on. It wasn’t like he was going to call you, start a relationship…
“Miss?…Miss?” The doors were open now and a repairman was reaching towards you, motioning you to take his hand. You grabbed ahold and Robbie gave you a boost until you were safely out of the elevator. A crowd of fans had gathered. They were cheering. Then Robbie came out and there was a wave of excitement. His handlers emerged from the crowd and ushered him down the hall. It looked like he was reaching for your hand, but it was too late. You were already separated by the crowd.
You met up with your friends at a nearby diner. “So, remember that love spell we tried last night?”
“Yeah, there’s no way that shit worked. They laughed. “We’re not witches. We were just fucking around. Besides, that would be pretty fucking unethical. We’re just going to have to settle for our looks and personality to land a date with the cast of Avengers.
"Why did you bring it up? Did something happen?”
Your phone buzzed and you looked down to check it out. It was a text from Robbie. “Rose, I’m sorry I got pulled away. Want to meet up later?”
Your heart leaped in your chest as your thumbs fumbled over the keys.
“Yes, and I’m sorry about my name tag, but my name is not Rose. It’s……”
The Beloved Big Sister Of 1-7, feat. The Beloved Number Five
“Diego used to use his big sister as a punching bag. She would block every swing and kick without fail. And as such, when he aged to be stronger as a teenager, he never had to worry about hurting her. Eventually even Luther stopped worrying. It’s weird, but it’s their thing. It’s what they do.” -Allison
Thanks to all who are enjoying the story, let me know what you think, what you’d like to see, your favourite things etc.
I wanted it to be longer but guess what? I use my phone and this has reached the 100 word block limit. Yay.
(Spoilers/info):In this chapter we see all her powers and almost all the limits of them.
Tumblr media
‘Griddy’s?’ Five shoved a wallet of hastily collected house money into his pocket.
(X) laughed. ‘I’ll drive, you go in and order.’
Five nodded and jumped to the passenger seat.
‘No injuries?’ She asked, sliding behind the wheel and turning the key.
Five rolled his eyes, scoffing with a grin. ‘I’m fine.’
She glanced at him as she shut the door, mirroring his expression. She put her foot down hard and they were pressed into their seats.
After a hairpin turn to get around the corner near the drive, Five spoke up.
‘Where’s your car?’
‘I ran here.’
Five turned in his seat to watch her in surprise. ‘You surged here?’
‘Mm.’
‘That’s exhausting.’ His tone was concerned.
‘I wanted to see you,’ she said, looking away from the road for a moment to smile at him.
Five felt warm and small again, the knowledge he had her back again sinking in a little further. ‘I’ll have to introduce you to Delores. She’ll love you.’
She didn’t ask, just hummed in agreement conversationally. ‘I’ll look forward to it. How are your jumps? Still strong?’
‘Very, I got a lot better over the years. Though I won’t be trying the time jump again if I can help it.’
‘I can see why.’
Five was silent as they sped down the road. After taking a moment to enjoy the familiarity of her skilled driving, he spoke in a blunt tone.
‘(X), I want you to help me stop the apocalypse.’
She merely nodded. It came to neither of them as a surprise; the only person Five would ever openly ask for help from was her.
‘Coffee first,’ she said as the indicator clicked to turn into the shops. ‘Get me a latte.’
They pulled up outside and Five opened the door, marched around the front of the car, over the parking lot past a just-parked tow truck, up the steps and through the doors.
(X) laughed, hearing his heavy footsteps even with the door closed again, and turned to reverse the car.
When she walked through the doors Five was sitting beside the tow truck driver, a lady behind the counter taking their order.
‘Can I get the kid a... glass of milk? Or something?’
‘The kid wants coffee,’ said Five flatly. ‘Black. And one latte.’
‘Cute kid,’ said the lady to the driver as (X) walked up to the counter, leaning on it a stool or so down.
She saw the innocent, delightful grin Five plastered all over his face in response and tried not to laugh at the lady’s unease.
Being that he was her kid brother, Five was cute, just not if you called him such.
Awkwardly, the lady turned and looked at the woman, who looked 19 yet wise enough to be 200, and asked for her order.
‘I’m the latte,’ she said, tilting her head toward the cute kid.
The lady nodded and turned. (X) sat down beside Five, glancing at the truck driver.
Five glanced at him too, then around, and sighed. ‘Don’t remember this place being such a shit hole,’ he said quietly to the man.
(X) raised an eyebrow.
‘Used to come here as a kid. I used to sneak out with my brothers and ate donuts til we puked. Simpler times, huh?’ said the 13 year-old bodied Five.
Awkwardly, the driver responded with a ‘uh... I suppose.’
Feeling too sorry for the driver, and quite tired after having no moment’s rest since learning of Five’s return, (X) stood up and stretched a little, heading for the car for a book. She put a reassuring, comforting hand on Five’s upper back as he panicked a little seeing her moving away from him with no explanation. One subtle communication is all it took and Five returned to his conversation.
-
When she returned with a book, Five glancing to determine it was her returning, her latte was waiting.
She paid little attention to the small talk between Five and the man, pulling a bit of paper that sat in front of her brother towards her. Some address was written on it. She picked it up to use it as a bookmark and set to work on her coffee.
The driver left shortly after and after a long sip of his coffee, Five looked around for the paper.
He spotted it between her fingers with a scowl and stopped searching.
‘I found a glass eye in the apocalypse, seems to belong to the person that caused it. That address is the factory. We can’t do anything until it opens tomorrow.’
They drank silently, enjoying the coffee until the doors opened again. Both paid it no real mind until Five studied the reflection in the bell, seeing someone ready to hit his sister in the back of the head.
‘Don’t bother; she’s not a civilian,’ said Five, putting his coffee down. ‘Hm. That was fast,’ he continued, ‘thought I had more time before they found me.’
With no change of expression (X) looked up from her book to stare straight ahead, concentrating on the situation.
‘Okay,’ came the voice of a man right behind her head, ‘so let’s all be professional about this, yeah?’
Knowing from those words that Five was about to cause a scene, (X) surged power through her body to age it by a few years, to around 24.
Not turning his head, Five glanced over. Her body peaked its physical strength at twenty-four and a half, so he wasn’t surprised to see the slight changes in her features. She didn’t usually bother, though, which puzzled him. Then he realised she usually knew who she was dealing with.
‘On your feet and come with us. We wanna talk.’
‘I’ve got nothing to say,’ said Five simply.
‘It doesn’t have to go this way,’ persisted the man.
(X) twitched her neck in annoyance. She hated people in her blind spot.
‘Think I wanna shoot a kid?’ came the response. ‘Go home with that on my conscience?’
(X) sighed and put her book down quietly. She picked up her teaspoon and stirred her coffee, looking under her arm as best she could. Further behind her, Five would go for the leader, she saw a pair of feet.
‘Well, I wouldn’t worry about that,’ said Five pleasantly. He turned to smile at the man. ‘You won’t be going home.’
He stretched his hand for the butter knife on the counter next to him as (X) stopped stirring her coffee. As Five disappeared she shot backwards to the feet she had been watching, kicked the man in the knee, swatted his gun away and drove a spoon into his eye. One man collapsed with a knife in his neck, the other to his knees howling.
Then they were gone.
As the others looked around Five appeared on one of the table booths, lying casually across it. ‘Hey assholes!’ He said comfortably.
(X) laughed. As the men turned and bullets went flying, she appeared behind the counter and took her latte from the saucer, leaning back and taking a long sip.
Next Five next appeared at the door, gave a knock or two and disappeared with a salute.
(X) leant on the cupboard behind her, sipping her coffee.
With a cross grimace, Five glared at her from his hiding place for being quite so care free.
As the lights flickered the men saw her. She saw them, and immediately shot to the other side of the room into a booth in the corner, one leg over the other and cup in both hands.
Five used this to his advantage, stabbing one with a splintered mop handle and going for another one with a pencil.
He put his tie around the neck of one and nearly rolled his eyes when he saw where his sister had moved to.
She looked up at the sound of a smashing plate. Five was hidden again, frowning at her.
She raised an eyebrow, asking if he needed help. He glared at her blankly, panting. She sighed and stood up.
‘Will you move?!’ Five hissed, seeing they’d heard her sigh and shifted next to her, tackling her to the ground behind a booth.
Noticing Five was a lot more concerned about her safety than he used to be, to a point where he’d risk himself with little concern or for little things, she’d think about that later, she focused up and looked around, ignoring the bullet in her arm.
She put an arm over him protectively as bullets rained above them and looked around.
Pulling Five’s weight with her she saw across the floor under the tables to another booth and surged them there in two moves to avoid knocking anything.
Then she stood up and as Five looked around she was gone.
She appeared behind the closest man, kicking him across the room and through the wood of a table.
Unlike Five, who could teleport or shift anywhere he pleased so long as it was in range, she found cover very difficult. Cover was meant to be hidden, so being able to see it was not normally possible.
Resorting to head-on, she surged straight for one of the last two men, kicking him twice in the gut and twirled behind him as she was spotted by the last. She ducked down as the last shot the second last in the chest and then rolled to the ground.
Five knew that because she could surge only to where she saw, she couldn’t at that moment see the last man.
He shifted behind him and shoved him forward as much as his early teenage arms would allow.
The man stumbled into her line of sight and in an instant she had surged forward onto his back, sending him collapsing to the ground and drove a piece of shattered plate through the nape of his neck.
She retrieved her coffee.
Five finished off another on the floor and retrieved his tie then picked up a beeping device, decorated with a splash of blood. ‘Ive got a tracker; can you cut my arm open- did you get shot?!’
She was fishing the bullet from her arm. ‘I wish it didn’t hurt like hell to revert my age when injured,’ she complained as a response, tossing the bullet across the diner. ‘Don’t worry; I’m healing it,’ she said patiently as Five opened his mouth to yell at her. ‘Find me a sharp knife.’
‘Yes.’ Five’s voice was impatient and irritated. He tossed her a knife from one of the men’s belts.
‘Alright.’ She joined him at the bench, held his outstretched arm down at the wrist with one hand and cut into his arm with the other.
Five winced and groaned a little before beginning to fish in his forearm for the tracker.
‘Wish I could heal you,’ she said, patting his back.
‘Don’t we all,’ he replied before triumphantly holding up the tracker, studying it with a peeved sigh.
(X) got her book from the counter, wiped debris off it with her hands and looked around. ‘Got everything?’
‘Yep.’ Five slid off the stool and walked out beside her.
As they walked to the car he grabbed her arm and squinted at it to make sure she was in fact healing. Satisfied, he kept hold of her arm, subconsciously wrapping his own around it as they reached the car.
Family Secret or, more accurately, Secret FROM the Family
Diego Hargreeves x reader
Summary: So I’ve fiddled with things because I wanted to write this fic. Short version, Luther is back from the moon because someone broke into the Academy and kinda ransacked the place. Like that bit in the show, he blames Diego and goes to snoop around Diego’s place. Unlike the show, Diego has a girlfriend (reader) that the family doesn’t know about.
Word Count: 1609
They worked nights; it’s part of the reason they worked so well together. Well, more like she worked nights and he periodically worked during the day and spent some night patrolling the streets like an alley cat. Semantics aside, they slept for their eight hours day-side, and spent whatever time was left over together whenever possible. That being said, sometimes he didn’t come home fast enough for her to see him before she went to bed. In those instances, being raised the way he was actually had a perk: he could usually sneak into bed with her without her waking up.
Making this instance all the more suspicious.
Y/N jerked awake when she heard the door to their little backroom jerk open with absolutely none of the care her boyfriend usually had. Blearily, she used her ability to wrap the shadows around her, keeping her concealed from whoever had decided to break into their home. It was a handy little ability that no one but her boyfriend knew about.
The children of the Umbrella may have been the most famous of the 43 that were born with no warning, but there were still 36 others out and about in the world. Many of which had abilities. The remaining without likely just never discovered what theirs was. All that being explained, Y/N was one of the ones that’d figured out what hers was and mastered it: controlling other people’s fears. For example, many people were afraid of the dark, so she could manipulate the shadows. How many people within a radius around her--the one aspect of her power that she’d never tested extensively was exactly what that radius was--determined how strong that particular fear could be manifested.
In this case, she used that control of shadows to completely mask her presence in the already dark room--it was lit only by a lamp not far from the door--from the large man that’d just entered her home. If all went right and she stayed quiet, he wouldn’t notice her until Diego got home. Combat was rarely her thing if she could avoid it, and it was likely that he’d be home from prowling soon. After all, not many people truly feared things that she could use proactively in a fight.
Sure enough, Diego returned about twenty minutes later from what Y/N could judge based on what the clock on the nightstand read. This allowed the strange man time to investigate the tiny apartment.
Little did Y/N know, but the intruder was none other than Diego’s brother, Luther. During his little investigation, he noticed a poster from his brother’s latest fight resting on the desk. Upon reading the date printed, he sighed to himself and made himself at home in the lone chair the apartment had to offer. That poster was all the proof he needed to prove Diego’s innocence, so he felt no further need to investigate the apartment. It was just a waiting game until his brother came home so they could talk.
Diego announced his presence by cracking the door open ever-so-slightly and tossing a knife into the room so that it landed embedded into the wooden post next to Luther’s head.
“What the--” the giant man cut himself off as Diego stepped into view. “You could have killed me!”
Number Two scoffed.  “If I wanted to kill you, you’d be dead.” Hs harness thumped against the wall as he hung it up. “Besides, if my girlfriend wanted you dead, you would’ve had a heart attack long before I even got home.
“Girl--” Again, he abruptly stopped talking, this time because he suddenly became aware of the woman lying on the bed  that was across the room. “What?”
“Didn’t even notice her, huh?” Diego chuckled. “Getting rusty, Number One.”
“Who are you?”
“None of your business, big boy,” Y/N taunted. “You broke into our place. Why the fuck are you here?” If she started pressing an aura of generalized fear on the large man, that was her own business. She was pretty sur Diego knew that she was doing it, too, based off the smirk he tossed her way.
Luther fidgeted, though he was unsure why he was suddenly feeling a creeping feeling of dread twinging at the back of his mind. “Why didn’t you tell me you had a fight that night?” he questioned, leaving the matter of the mysterious woman alone for the moment.
“That’s what this is about?” Diego’s voice carried only pure indignance. “I don’t have to prove my innocence to you.”
Y/N didn’t bother to hide the look of confusion that crossed her face as she looked over at Diego.
Thankfully, he caught the hint and explained. “Number One, here, is convinced that I’m the one that broke into the Academy and vandalized the old man’s office.”
“If you would have just told me--”
“I shouldn’t have to!”
Y/N could see the way Diego clenched his jaw, an indication that he was so upset that his stutter was trying to make an appearance. Her response was to increase the pressure of the aura on Luther. “Get out,” she ordered.
Luther could have sworn that the strange woman’s voice had more than one pitch to it as she gave that command. “Come by the house tomorrow. Mom is making a family dinner.” He ducked his head like a dog that’d just been put in its place as he started to head for the door. “I’ll tell her to set an extra place for your friend.” With that, he left, closing the door behind him with a surprising amount of care.
As soon as he was gone, Diego jogged up the small flight of steps to flick the lock closed. He then smacked the door with the side of his fist in irritation as he sagged forward to rest his head against its wooden surface. The tightness etched into the line of his shoulders prompted her to slink out of bed and approach him. Carefully, she rested her cheek on his back while her arms wrapped around his middle.
One of his hands came up to rest on hers. “Are you okay?” he muttered.
“I feel like I should be asking you that,” she replied in a casual attempt at humor.
He turned around in her grip so he could look at her face. “A gorilla pretending to be a human just broke into the house while you were trying to sleep. Pretend all you want that you’re okay, but I’ve seen enough women in that situation to know better than to think you’re okay.”
“But I’m not like all those women,” she pointed out. “I knew you were going to be home soon. I’ve got my own personal superhero.”
That managed to pry a chuckle out of him. “You are your own superhero.”
“That too. Seriously,” her hand came up to rest on his cheek, “you okay?”
“Just another example of the Hargreeves Parenting Style in action. It can never be ‘just a crime.’ My money’s on it was just a crazy stalker that knew no one was home. It’s a fucking mansion, of course it was gonna get broken into at some point.”
“So the usual problems, got it.”
He hummed his confirmation, resting his chin on her head for a second. “I’m fucking tired.” The ‘of being the punching bag for my dumbass family’ went unsaid, but Y/N knew him well enough to know that it was an underlying thought.
“Then get changed, big guy,” Y/N laughed as she pulled away, trying to keep the mood lighter than his host of family problems were trying to allow. “It might be our day off tomorrow, but I still want to sleep so I can enjoy it.”
Within a matter of minutes, Diego had stripped down to his boxers and was cuddled up with Y/N under the covers. Of course, there were a few minutes before either of them could fall asleep when they could just enjoy being with the other person.
“Are we going to that dinner?” Y/N asked, tracing the bird diego had tattooed on his ribs.
“Mom wants all of us to be there, so I’ll probably go. You don’t have to, but I doubt Luther will keep his mouth shut about you being here tonight.”
“Mmm, is Vanya going?”
“Probably? She’ll go because of Mom, too, if she does.”
“Then I’ll be there,” Y/N decided.
She and Vanya were vague acquaintances from times they’d randomly met at Griddy’s. Late nights in an otherwise empty diner would do that to people: create unusual friendships. Y/N tended to take her lunches as coffee breaks at the donut shop, and Vanya just suffered from insomnia. Of course Y/N knew her from her book--Diego had been pissed when it came out, after all--, but Vanya didn’t know that they were connected outside of their late-night talks. That secrecy was all part of Diego wanting to keep Y/N away from the drama that was his family. All that being said, it’d be good to know someone else there, even if the violinist had no idea beforehand.
“Might as well get everything out in the before your brother starts spreading rumors about the hooker you had stashed away in the backroom of a gym,” she announced.
She expected an indignant ‘I’d never let him talk about you like that’, but a little snore above her alerted her to the fact that he’d nodded off while she was sleeping.
“Night, D,” she chuckled to herself, kissing his chest sweetly before she too nodded off.
A/N: This is all I’ve got for this for now, but I might write that dinner scene in the future when I get back into the Umbrella Academy mood.
Words: 2146
Tumblr media
Black coffee steamed in it’s mug as it sat out in the open, wind swirling it in different patterns. The swirls of steam looked like it was dancing a tango, as if the beat it was dancing too kept getting faster and faster until a sudden stop and the steam disappears, signifying the end of a dramatic dance.
Black ink stained up the side of your hand as you furiously wrote away, you just couldn’t get the equation right and you couldn’t use your powers, not yet. You were on the run from the commission as they wanted to use you for your powers, it was a valuable asset, time travel and dimension jumping, the Handler said it could open a whole new market for them but once you refused they came after you.
You’d got the equation wrong while you were running and you got stuck, you got stuck somewhere, an abandoned world that hadn’t been looked after. Years and years passed with you stuck in the wasteland of a world until the Handler came back but you couldn’t say no otherwise you’d die alone with no chance of seeing your loved ones again. So you became a killer to survive, you kept to yourself. In that world it was kill or be killed.
After years of service you thought you had the equation, endless nights of black coffee and sleep deprivation you thought you’d got it right. All you wanted to do is go and see your family again but next thing you knew you were 16 years old again and stuck in some random dimension but it was a start. You had removed any form of tracker the Handler had on you back in 1854 after completing your last mission.
During your time in the small town you’d managed to get a small job to rent a tiny one bedroom apartment, it wasn’t the best but it would do for the time being, until you get the maths right.
You let out an exasperated sigh, slamming your pen down on your scribble ridden page. It was a bright but nippy day meaning you could sit outside in peace and be uninterrupted. Griddy’s was always quiet on week days, the perfect time to go for a black coffee and just go over everything that’s happened, it’s good to do that sometimes, just to think and remember.
Reaching for your coffee, you underestimated the distance between the mug and your hand resulting in the mug falling. You open a portal under it so it falls right into your hand and take a sip, placing it down gently in it’s original place.
“How did you do that?” A boy was suddenly next to you, an excitable expression present on his face. He looked about the same age as you, but he had a look in his eyes, like he’d seen some things.
“What do you mean?” You ask, pretending to be confused, taking another sip of your coffee. You watched as he pulled the seat opposite to you out and sat down crossing his arms and legs simultaneously. He looked at you with a slight smirk.
“You’re y/n, aren’t you?” He leant back in his chair, scanning you up and down. “I’ve heard so much about you.” His eyes could tell 1000 stories but you could tell that he had no one to tell, no one would understand.
“huh, interesting, I’m not going to lie to you, I don’t really know who you are.” You say matching his movements but making sure you can have easy access to some form of weapon of he attacks. For all you knew he could be part if the commission finally catching up to you.
“I’m Five, ex-commission.” You narrow your eyes at him as he sticks his hand out, you take a glance at his hand. You reach out but just before you meet his hand you grab the handle of your mug, bringing it to your lips. Fives hand drops and he lets out a breathy laugh, crossing his arms again.
“I would introduce myself but you seem to already know who I am so I guess there’s no need.” You give him a sickly sweet smile before taking another sip. You had heard a little bit about Five, he had a similar story to you,stuck in an apocalypse, ran away from the Commission to see his family and tried (and succeeded) to stop the apocalypse.
Five couldn’t believe his eyes when he first saw what you did with the mug, there was only one person who he had heard that could do that, y/n. Five had heard rumours upon rumours about y/n, an example of some is that she was the most deadly killer the commission had ever seen and the prettiest person the universe had ever seen, and Five couldn’t agree more. He couldn’t imagine you ever killing anybody, your hair loosely hung with strands tucked behind your ear. Five took in your soft features, the warmth of your eyes and the freckles that littered all over your face and arms, presumably from the years in the apocalypse.
“It’s rude to stare.” You tell Five, not even looking up from your writings. Out of the corner of your eye you see him shift uncomfortably, averting his eyes. “Listen, I don’t know why you’re still here but if you’re lying about being ex-commission and are here to try and kill me I think you should reconsider your options because we both know who will make it out alive.”
“I’m not lying about being ex-commission, I know what it’s like and I think I can help you with getting back.” Locking eyes with Five, you saw the sincerity in his eyes. He held out his hand, you think about the worst possible outcomes from this situation, you take his hand.
You had never travelled the way Five normally does, you just were not used to it. As soon you reached the desired destination your knees gave out and a wave of nausea washed over you. A retching sound made it’s way out of your body as you cover your mouth with shaking hands, as if that would stop you from being sick.
“How the fuck do you travel like that?” You almost shout at Five, staring at him from the floor, you didn’t even know where you were, you didn’t care. Another wave came over you again along with a banging headache. The one thing that you were grateful for in the Commission is that they let you travel how you wanted, the first time you had used a briefcase you could’t stop shaking and being sick which wasn’t the most efficient if you needed to complete a mission.
With a flash of blue Five was holding a glass of water crouched down next to you. “Here take this.” He held the glass closer to you.
“How is making me sick going to help me get home?” You say cautiously taking the glass from his hand. You sit up straight and try to take a deep breath in.
“Just show me your equations, I’ll see what I can do.”
Days turned into weeks, then weeks into months. The more time you spent with Five the more you began to forget about the equation. Truth be told, you got the right equation about 3 weeks into working on it with Five. After years of being alone you liked spending all this time with Five, you were both equally as emotionally deprived as each other, both in need of a friend who you could relate to.
Feelings for Five was also a newly developed emotion, the more time you spent with him the stronger these feelings got and all of his family could tell. You had met the Hargreeves on many occasions, often getting comments about how much you had made him come out of his shell since he stopped the apocalypse. But it’s not like you wouldn’t do couply things, if that was even a word, you would hold hands, cuddle and exchange compliments back and forth all the time. It was done so casually, as if you both didn’t know what to do with your feelings.
You were currently laid down with your head in Fives lap as he absentmindedly ran his fingers through your hair, occasionally twirling stands in his fingers. It was a summers day, natural light streamed through the open window, giving the room a natural glow.
“y/n,” He lightly taps your nose. “You’re really pretty.”
You smile, leaning into his touch. You knew you had to tell him at some point, about the equation, you just didn’t know how. Sighing, you sat up and faced Five, you noticed in the past months how his features had softened from the hard, brooding looks he used to give.
“Five, I’ve found the equation.”
“What?”
“I’ve found the equation.” You repeat with more force. “But I’m torn, I don’t know what to do.” You searched his face, trying to read the emotion. “I miss my family so much. But I don’t want to leave here, you’ve shown me theres so much in this timeline.” His face dropped.
Five didn’t want to sound selfish but he didn’t want you to leave, the past few months had been the best time of his life, he’d found someone who understands him. Y/N never questioned his coping mechanisms, you had actually made him accept his own past and move on with his life. He doesn’t know what he’d do without you. Five eyes began to sting, he felt a wave of sadness but also anger, he felt himself getting warm, an uncontrollable range swept over, consuming any other emotion that was in it’s way.
“How long have you had it for.” Five had a quite voice, not looking you in the eyes.
“A few months.” You watch as Fives fist clenched. “Five I-” But he had cut you off.
“So you’ve just been leading me on.” Five eyes met yours. They weren’t the soft, welcoming eyes you had come to love, they were cold, hard and shut off, the only emotion you could see in his eyes was anger.
“What no, why would you-”
“Maybe you should just leave.” Your chest sank, Five let you go from his grip and stood up. He looked like the killer you had only heard about mere months ago, he didn’t look like your Five anymore. “Just go, y/n.”
So you did, no arguments, no questioning, you had gone. As soon as you left the room Five caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror but the reflection wasn’t him, it was the killer that he thought he’d left in the Commission, he was his clenched fists and cold eyes. He couldn’t believe he spoke to y/n like that, looking like this.
“Y/N!” He called out, he was in a cold panic. He kept calling your name out, traveling to your work, your house, all your favourite places but you weren’t there. Five had been told that you handed in your resignation at work and your flat was cleared, you had gone home.
Five didn’t know what to do with himself since you had left, he was constantly thinking about the what ifs, what if he acted differently, what if he didn’t snap. You had been gone from Fives timeline for almost a year, he didn’t have much to remember you by other than one picture that he had on his bed side table. The picture was taken by Allison of the two of you, you had both fallen asleep on the sofa downstairs, you looked so peaceful together as Five held you in his arms.
He fell in love with you in the time he had met you, the complexity of love confused him but he wanted to figure it out with you. He loved the way you talked, how you carried yourself, your smarts, your personality, everything. It was a cold night and Five wasn’t able to sleep, he just laid there staring at the ceiling. There was a strange noise, a noise he knew well, y/n.
“Hey Five.” You were breathless, it had taken you so long to find the right equation for the frequency of Fives timeline, to see him again.
Five couldn’t believe his eyes, you were really there. Without a second thought Five leapt out of his bed and crashed his lips to yours, he pulled away and tightly wrapped his arms around your frame.
“I’m so sorry y/n. I’ve missed you so much.” You couldn’t agree more, leaving was an impulse moment of anger, there was a gap in your heart that only Five could fill. “y/n, I love you so much.” He held your hands, his eyes were soft again, filled with love.
“I love you too.”
say nothing
this was definitely inspired by the dream that @lunar-pains had and I decided to pair this up with another request that was sent by anon that wanted a platonic relationship between Five and reader. Hope you enjoy reading this! Thank you for sharing this with me, lunar-pains and thank you anon for sending in the request!
“I think I want the glazed doughnut.” You mutter to yourself as you stare at the doughnuts on display and you can literally feel Five rolling his eyes at you as he leans down beside you to look at the doughnuts on display. “What are you having?”
Five scoffs haughtily, scrunching his nose at your choice. “Certainly not the glazed doughnuts, Y/N.” He tells you pointedly as he scans through the doughnuts; banana crème, apple fritter, Boston crème and there was just so many choices on display and you opted with an extra ordinary doughnut; one that you can get from Griddy’s. “I think I’ll try the Dutch Crumb.” Five tells you and you stick your tongue out at your best friend who merely clicks his tongue in response. “Stop acting like a five-year-old, Y/N.”
You shake your head at his response and glance at the doughnuts once more. There were just too many choices to pick from and you were feeling overwhelmed; if you had all the money in the world and probably the stomach, you would have gotten every single one of these doughnuts but unfortunately, you don’t have the money nor the space for every doughnut. “Okay, fine.” You huff as you straighten, crossing your arms. “I’ll get the vanilla fruity pebbles and since you were harping about my choice, you’re paying for mine, Five.”
Five chuckles under his breath. “Like I was going to ask to you to pay? I was the one who dragged you all the way here.” He points out and you nod your head. He did after all drag you out of bed on a Saturday morning – when the both of you know that the two of you had stayed up until 4AM the previous night, watching movies. Five moves over to the counter, asking for both of your doughnuts and his to be packed into a box. “Keep the change.” He drops a twenty-dollar bill and move over to you. “I have both good and bad news. Which one would you like to hear first?”
You look up at Five and furrow your eyebrows. “All that in a few minutes?” You murmur under your breath and Five rolls his eyes and clears his throat. You huff indignantly. “Bad news first and then the good one, please and thank you, kind Sir.” You made a move to grab the doughnuts and Five moves the bag away, grabbing your hand instead and you give him a pointed look.
“Bad news is that we can’t eat here in the embassy – it’s not allowed. Hence, why these doughnuts were only for take-aways.” He explains and you furrow your eyebrows at his explanation. “Good news is I know just the place.” Without waiting for your reply, Five pulls you closer and spatial-jumps. Honestly, if you hadn’t love Five like the brother he is, you probably would have screamed bloody Mary because you really hate it when he brings you along on his spatial jumps.
You drop on your ass, groaning at how disoriented you feel after that jump. You haven’t the faintest idea how Five can do this and make it look very easy. “Sorry about that.” Five looks at you unapologetically as he moves to sit at the stairs. The two of you are currently on the rooftop – of said embassy – and the sun is almost setting as well.
You groan and stand up, glaring at your best friend. “Honestly, you only probably brought us up here because you want to flex at how amazing you look during Golden Hour.” You tease and Five scoffs as he throws the bag of doughnuts that he bought to you, after taking out his own doughnut. Thankfully, you were so used to Five throwing things at you – he says it helps with your reflexes and to be honest, you are winning most of your games because of his crazy idea so you really cannot complain. “Five, you didn’t!!” You squeal when you realize despite harping on your initial choice of getting the glazed doughnut, Five actually bought the doughnut for you.
“I call dibs on being your future child’s godfather.” Five sits down on the stairs and you laugh at his response as you move to sit beside Five. He lightly kicks your back with his foot, and you glare at him but Five merely smirks at you as he begins eating his doughnut.
“Sometimes, I don’t even know why I am friends with you, Five. You are so mean.” You whine as you take out your vanilla fruity pebble doughnut, opting to save the glazed doughnut for last. “Like are you alright, Five? Does your family not give you enough love?”
“Eat your doughnut before I throw it in the bin.” Five orders as he ruffles your hair, messing it up some more. He chuckles at the indignant look you shoot him and smirks. Most people would not understand how the two of you are friends – mostly because the two of you are the exact opposite – but Five finds you very enjoyable and your reaction to most of his actions are often questionable (because instead of getting mad, you just take it all in stride with your occasional kitten-like glares and you are a nice break from his family. “We’re missing something.” Five tells you once he’s done with his doughnut and you look back at him.
“Coffee?” You raise one of your eyebrows – you have yet to see Five drink any coffee today and you are surprised he has gone this long without it. Five shakes his head and stands up but when you made the move to stand up, Five shakes his head once more. “What are you up to now?”
“We’re missing something so stay there. I’ll be back.” Five does not even wait for your reply as he spatial jumps, leaving you on the rooftop with a bag of doughnuts and no idea how to get down. You grumble under your breath as you move up the stairs so that you can see the view even better; might as well enjoy the view while you are up here. You could barely see the sunsets from your apartment, so this was really nice.
True to his words, Five comes back a minute later holding two cones filled with your favourite ice-cream and your eyes widen. “Wow, you are really spoiling me today, Five. What gives? Is the world going to end or something?”
Five shrugs his shoulders as he hands your ice-cream to you. You thank him once more and watch Five He glances at you. “It’s a thanks for putting up with me.” He tells you casually and you laugh as you stand up, throwing an arm over his shoulder and Five narrows his eyes at you. You rub your cheek against him and Five nudges you, causing you to laugh. “Honestly, Y/N, you act more like a child than your actual age, please.”
You laugh and lean back, keeping your arm over his shoulders – Five hates the fact that you are just a few centimetres taller than him. “It’s alright, Five. I love you regardless, bro.” You pat his shoulder and Five sighs, shaking his head at you.
“Your ice-cream is dripping by the way.”
