The Reason ~A Five Hargreeves/Female Reader Insert request (Complete)
Tumblr media
Rated Mature for Explicit Sexual Content (20k word one-shot with 10 fast paced chapters)
Anonymous asked:
Please just give me the smuttiest enemies to friends to lovers, with some breeding kink PLEASEEE 🧍‍♀️🙏🏻
KayBreezy's reply: Okay. 😂 Done. See Below to read this wild adventure.
~Tags and Warnings: feral Five, soft Five angst, family fluff, flirting, humor, rough sex, story with plenty of smutty smut but it needs to build to get there so be patient and it will pay off, Five being wonderful and awful, smart female reader insert, Diego is a bomb ass bro, canon compliant plus extra addressing of shit they didn't bother to and I wish they would have, breeding kink, enemies-to friends-to lovers, some tags left off to keep you on your toes, season 5 TUA
~Very Important Note: DUE TO SPOILERS, DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED S4 This story starts where season 4 ends and reads like a season 5 start. It is canon compliant, letting you take what we were left with on the show, DISREGARDING the controversial sexual relationship that happened, or not. That's the big thing with this one. This is written so the reader can interpret that stuff as they want to. There are only two mentions in this that even come remotely close into that territory and those parts can also be looked at as Five simply feeling awful and not because that even happened. He has plenty of other reason for his sadness, why they felt the need to give him more and end them all, I will never know. 😭 I personally have always seen a special bond with Five and Lila, only not at all the way it played out in the show, and we will see some of my version of their admiration of each other in this one, and I did it to honor both these characters I love. It is also important to say, this is in no way written in a way that is triggering for those who hated what happened on the show. This is written to give them all something better. That was my point, and to try to do this request some justice. ❤️I hope you enjoy. Sending peace and love to all the beautiful TUA/FIVE fans.
THE REASON
Chapter one: The Beginning of the End
Slipping away, there was no reason to fight anymore.
Sensations Five couldn’t put into words overwhelming him, the glowing pulsation of The Cleanse began to cover them, first trapping their feet, then building up around their legs with terrifying speed.
As the pressure pushed at his layers of clothing, naturally, panic set in.
His mind screamed, DO SOMETHING!!!
He would have laughed at the irony along with his family if it wasn’t all so awful. Here they were cracking jokes when they were about to die, and there he was, the massive lump of guilt in his throat trying to kill him quicker than the looming mass of elemental alien goo.
Five’s entire life, he’d thought he was the strong one, that he could save them, but boy had he been wrong.
Even before this shit storm splattered the fan, he knew he should have been starting over, but he’d done very little in the way of living, or being there for any of them.
He pretended he was fine, but he wasn’t.
He was alone, like he always was, but he was too stubborn to admit how empty his life was.
Instead, he blocked all that out by playing CIA agent, foolishly not noticing that the people who’d hired him were in on all this.
Then, when it all went from bad to worse, Five ran from it. Once with Lila as they traveled the train to insanity together, and then again after that, when they’d finally made it back and he realized they couldn’t beat the horrible death blob Ben and Jennifer had become.
It took a lifetime to learn it, but there was no running from this, or the unforgivable things he’d done only to end up with nothing.
Heart sinking to unfathomable depths of despair, unable to look at their faces, or the thing consuming them, Five looked to the ceiling instead. Through the highest windows of what in another time had been their childhood home, the world outside was righting itself, the fire of rebirth was hard at work, correcting things the right way this time.
There was no reason for his suffering.
No reason for any of this.
His breath catching in his throat, the mass of destruction that was swallowing them crept up Five’s neck, seeping under his sweat drenched collar.
Shutting his eyes to block out the horror of what was happening, he forced himself to think about why this was the only way out.
“What shattered the timeline?” he’d asked the Five that greeted him at the interdimensional deli filled with different versions of him.
“Not what. Who,” his cocky doppelgänger replied while pushing a stray piece of hair out of his face.
They were 145,142 times trying to stop the apocalypse, doomed to save or destroy the world, over and over… ad infinitum.
This would go on forever. Those crazy bastards weren’t willing to rise above their own wants and needs, but he was.
Eliminate the Marigold by ending all of them, and you get no more cycle of apocalyptic destruction. Simple as that.
Despite Five’s steadfast acceptance of this fact, a rush of air crawled out of his gaped mouth, the sound of it gut-wrenchingly pathetic even to his own ears. His lower lip trembled as The Cleanse reached his chin. He jerked his head higher to get away from it, but it was no good.
He felt Lila squeeze his hand. He squeezed back, a tear slipping down his cheek, immediately eaten away by the sludgy mass burying them.
I’m sorry.
He was, for everything, but he couldn’t say it, not anymore. He couldn’t even breathe.
The taste of death covered his lips, filling his nostrils. A familiar crackle of static energy zipped up and down his spine even though he hadn’t summoned it, like his powers had life of their own, begging him to stop this.
Five opened his eyes one last time, a spike of adrenaline needlessly alerting him to the fact that he was about to suffocate from the disgusting booger-like substance pushing into his mouth.
Silently crying out, The Cleanse choked off his airway.
His body, insistent on his need to breathe, helplessly drew in the otherworldly gunk.
He was drowning.
He began to thrash.
Above, ash began to fall from the ceiling. Five felt the same desperation he had a lifetime ago while standing outside the burning gates of his home.
Like then, all he could think about was finding a way back to save them.
Just before the wave of glimmering slime slipped over Five’s head, a shadowed figure moved into his view on the second-floor balcony. The person propped their elbows on the railing. Extending their left hand, they began dangling a pocket watch, slowly swinging it back and forth on its silver chain.
As if dying wasn’t already shaking Five to the core, the ornately engraved disk they had looked exactly like a pocket watch he kept in a basket of broken timepieces back in his boyhood bedroom at the original Umbrella Academy.
He collected those discarded pieces of junk, trying to make their fragile parts work again because he saw something of himself in their busted balance springs and wheels, beaten and used, pushed aside, never able to prove to a dad that didn’t love him that he was good enough.
Reginald was right, he wasn’t.
“Don’t be so hard on yourself,” the young stranger said, as if reading Five’s thoughts. He angled his face into the light, the pouted line of his lips pulling to the side, mimicking one of Five's smiles almost perfectly. “For all this to work out, you had to get here.”
A faint swirl of blue energy lit up the boy’s hands as the floor rumbled under their feet. Chunks of the roof fell, but their pale green eyes wrinkled at the corners even more, not a hint of fear in them.
“I’d do this one for you, but I can’t,” he furthered. “As you always told me, when it comes to time travel, you don’t mess with the loops, and this is one hell of a temporal causality loop you set up.”
The dimple in the boy’s cheek deepened.
“No, you. No, me,” he calmly explained. “And that would mean this conversation wouldn’t be happening, resulting in you letting this end and game over for us.”
Pulling the old pocket watch back up, the boy popped it open, checking the time before he looked back down at Five through the mess of sun-kissed hair falling over his eyes.
“You know what to do. It’s time, Dad.”
He dropped the watch, the glint of metal sailing down into the abyss.
Lack of oxygen about to make him lose consciousness, The Cleanse covered Five’s shock filled eyes.
Getting crushed, he no longer felt the hands that had been holding his.
They were all gone.
As true terror set in, the last of the boy’s words echoed in his mind.
It’s time, Dad…
Chapter Two: Walk in the Park
Not even aware he was doing it at first, Five pulled at that undefinable feeling inside him that let him open doors no one else could. Within a second, the strings of time gave in to his demand, illuminating the darkness.
An explosion of violent light burst outwards, the force of it ripping his skin inside out, or it felt that way. At that point, Five wasn’t sure if he was still intact, or not. All he knew was, he’d given everything he had left, opening one final portal, not even accounting for the destination.
Flung into a tornado of time and space knitting itself back together into the one true timeline, Five landed in the only place he could.
Coming down fast, blindly flailing, he slammed down on top of a picnic table, sending the food airborne that Lila’s parents had just laid out for lunch.
Face smashed into what he was pretty sure had been a cake, Five let out a whimpered groan.
Fresh air ruffled his frosting coated hair, the white sugar standing out in stark contrast to his chocolate-colored strands.
Untwisting his legs, his dress shoe accidentally knocked into Claire’s can of orange soda, tipping it over. The fizzy mess started pouring out all over Lila’s feet as she glared at him.
Five rapidly blinked his eyes, still not sure if what he was seeing was real.
Everything was so bright, a canopy of green and blue.
Orange and yellow marigolds filled the landscaped gardens.
Upbeat music played somewhere in the distance.
“What do you know, the flying fart squirrel decided to join us after all,” Lila dryly noted as she wiped a piece of potato salad off her forehead, flicking it at Diego.
Unfazed by Five’s fumbled landing, Diego picked the mayo covered slop off his shirt, sticking it in his mouth as he rolled his eyes at her. “Come, on babe. Fivvv nev-lets us dow. I nn-ew-he-be-here,” he mumbled while reaching out to lend him a helping hand.
Once on his feet, Five swayed, but Diego held on, keeping him steady as he took in the full extent of his shell-shocked appearance. “Rough day, old man?” he asked, a look of worry bending his silly dad-stash into a frown.
“You could say that,” Five croaked.
He reached up, his trembling fingers brushing the ghost of stubble darkening his jaw.
“Thank God I’m not twelve years old again,” he breathed.
Diego and Lila looked at each other, eyes wide.
“Five…?” Diego questioned. “Since you still can’t calculate your decades long jumps worth a shit, why don’t you just use one of your briefcases to commute.”
“Uncle Five is here!” Grace shouted, abandoning the game of frisbee she was playing with Luther and Sloane. Bolting over, her arms flung around Five’s waist. “Did you bring me anything?” she asked, beaming up at him.
Five was speechless.
Her twin siblings screeched as they rolled around on a fuzzy blanket filled with toys. Behind them, camped out on the grass, or horsing around not far away, Five saw his entire family, and all the people from their past that they had loved and lost.
A few yards away, Dave was sitting with his back against a tree, Klaus lying next to him with his head in his lap.
Eudora, Sissy, little Harlan, Elliot, Ray, Ben and Jennifer…
Five kept counting.
To his left, Agnes and Hazel walked by, bird watcher guide in hand.
Even the Sparrows' faces dotted the crowded scene, the one Five didn’t recognize with blue hair oddly reminiscent of a non-cube version of Christopher.
“Holy shit,” he gasped.
With the buzz of the older kids laughing at their funny Uncle Five and his ruined suit, and the rest of his family looking at him like he needed to be locked up, the fear that everyone close to him was about to be wiped off the face of the Earth hadn’t even come close to wearing off. And that feeling only got worse when he spotted The Handler sitting on a nearby park bench.
Starting to walk towards her, he reached into his inside jacket pocket to pull out his CIA issued handgun, but it wasn’t there.
Getting nothing but a handful of Jello, Five ran right into Herb. In a domino effect, the smaller statured man started teetering backwards.
“Youch!” you cried as his heel dug into your opened toed dress shoe.
Everything you were holding slipped out of your hands as they flung out to break your fall.
Before hitting the dirt, your skirt flew up, giving everyone a show.
Looking about as thrown as you, Five looked down at the Temps Commission insignia on the journal you dropped, then the pocket watch that had fallen next to it.
He cursed.
Clenching his hands so hard it looked like he might hurt himself, he started shaking his head side to side. “Where is he?” he growled.
“Who?” you fired back at him, trying to get up.
“That kid!”
“What kid?”
Before Herb could say anything to add to your confused reply or find his handy-dandy Commission issued time stopper, Five took off again.
Scrambling to your feet, you reached out to catch his arm. He swung around with a snarl and shoved you to the ground again, then he blinked away, reappearing right behind The Handler, ready to choke her with his bare hands, the only thing stopping him being the lady coming past, pushing a baby stroller.
Seeing the real Grace’s smiling face, so much like that of his robot mother, Five looked even more manic.
“Stop!” Herb frantically cried out, realizing that something was off more than Five lacking any spatial awareness.
Five didn’t stop, and neither did you, clumsily coming after him, your dress shoes slipping on the grass, you yelled, “If you do this, you’re going to regret it!”
To your relief. Five lowered his hands.
You came to a stop in front of the Handler, your hands coming to your knees as you tried to catch your breath. She looked from you, to the crazed young man behind her.
She lowered her cell phone. “Can I help you?”
“No. Sorry,” you huffed, quickly storming around the park bench to take Five by the back of his food covered suit jacket.
“She doesn’t know who you are!” you whisper yelled at him as you towed him away from her. “What in the world are you thinking?”
Five angrily narrowed his eyes at you.
“This was your plan!” you barked, to which he equally angrily jerked his shoulder away from your hand.
Apparently, he wasn’t going to let you corral him back towards Herb, but he wasn’t opposed to stomping over there himself, which was fine by you, so long as he did, and started to calm his cake-covered ass down.
“Glad to have you back,” Herb nervously chuckled once Five was in earshot. “Sorry about that.” He glanced at The Handler who was happily chatting away on her cell phone again. “I’m sure some of this is still hard for you, but everyone affected by this needed to be in close proximity to perform all the alternations you wanted. This picnic took some time for us to set up, but we got it done. As far as they know, you all have been back here for weeks and we had nothing to do with this party.”
Five’s cold gaze didn’t falter.
After picking up the items he made you drop, you handed him his journal, the one that said to give it to him as soon as he arrived.
“I don’t want that,” he spat, refusing to take it from you.
“Maybe it would be better if we took this conversation back to The Commission,” Herb offered.
“Like hell it would,” Five snapped, “There is no way I am going back to that shitshow of manipulative sadists.”
“You are the leader of our shitshow of manipulative sadists,” you retorted.
Ignoring that and your offended expression, he came at you, a flash of light blinding you as he snatched the watch out of your hand. Reappearing a few yards away, he hissed, “Who are you and who gave you this!”
Now you were the one narrowing your eyes.
Introducing yourself, minus the usual extended hand in case he tried to bite it off, you said, “I serve as your Co-Chair, and the watch was left with your files that were given to me when I was hired. And… it is not broken anymore because I fixed it for you. You’re welcome.”
“Why would I hire you?”
“Because you clearly needed my help,” you replied, your tone as acidic as his.
“Yeah, right,” he barked, his wild eyes suddenly fixating on you in a very ungentlemanly way.
Realizing that when he’d flung you the second time, your shirt had come undone by a few more buttons than you’d normally allow, you crossed your arms over your chest, using his journal like a shield to protect your boobs from his glare. “Look,” you sniped back. “I get that for you, some of this might be a little confusing because you’ve only been back for more than a few minutes real time, but for Herb and I, our day at the park had been much longer than that, stopping time over and over to correctly wipe and reset each of your family members you brought back. So… can we just get this thing moving?”
“You better not touch my family,” Five warned.
“With Optogenetics, cation-selective channel rhodopsin are used to excite neurons and inhibit neuronal activity, so touching isn’t exactly how we’d say memory alteration works, but you already know that. You are the one that left the notes that led to me inventing the pain free process to do it. Why are you being so difficult?” you questioned.
“Because…” he childishly seethed.
“Because?”
“That’s right,” he continued, his face contorting as his jaw muscles repeatedly tensed. “You throwing out big words means nothing. I’ve been fed a lot of lines of bullshit over the years, and I have no reason to trust a bimbo who’s wearing tiny pink underwear that would make a stripper blush! Or Herb! Or anyone that works at the place that ruined my life and millions of others!”
You smiled, and it wasn't the nice kind of smile. “Name calling? Really?”
“This has set up written all over it!” he yelled.
A lump of frosting fell off his head, landing on one of his expensive dress shoes. Fingers twitching at his sides, he was about to go ballistic.
In his notes spelling it out how this was going to go down, the Five of the future that hired you had written nothing about the possibility that the him now would have no clue what was going on, but it was clear he didn’t. Fortunately, there were protocols to handle situations like this-his protocols.
“We didn’t ruin anyone’s lives. That is the opposite of what we are about, but if you aren’t willing to come back and talk about that, I guess we are done here,” you said, raising an unimpressed brow.
“Sweetheart, I was done so long ago, you have no fucking idea.”
After condescendingly insulting you again, Five turned to check on his family.
None of them were concerned, and you knew they wouldn’t be. The moment he walked away, their attention was back on entertaining the kids.
“Do you want to do it, or me,” you quietly asked Herb, who looked over at you, looking about as tired as you’d ever seen him.
“I’ll lug this thing,” he sheepishly offered, picking up the huge Commission briefcase you used to get there.
You reached in your pocket, calling out to Diego. “Hey, guys! Something came up. Five is needed back at the office.”
Five started to turn back, readying for a fight.
Sticking him in the neck with a fast-acting sedative before he could fully swing, his legs buckled at the knees.
“You didn’t jus-st-ffffah-kkkk," he slurred, his eyes rolling back in his head.
Chapter Three: The Founder
A line of drool running out of his mouth, Five flopped over the side of the settee he was passed out on. Groggily looking around from his new position on the hard marble floor, he saw the lights were dimmed and there was only the slightest bit of daylight on the horizon outside the heavily draped windows.
He had no idea how long he’d been out, but he knew where he was.
This was 1955 and these were the crown molded walls of AJ Carmichael’s office, then The Handler’s, but evidently this office wasn’t either of theirs anymore because the polished plaque sitting on top of the old mahogany desk read otherwise.
“Five Hargreeves, Director… Well, I’ll be damned,” he breathed.
Getting to his feet, head spinning, he swallowed, his throat thick.
On the small side table next to him, he noticed the pocket watch he’d stolen back from you and a glass of water next to it with a pink post-it note stuck to it that read, Drink Me.
“Yeah, right. I’ll probably shrink like Alice in Wonderland,” he grumbled, remembering how you stuck him in the neck with a syringe, at this point equating you to an evil version of the white rabbit, forcefully leading him back into a nightmare.
Running a hand through his hair, seeing no one there to ambush him, Five spotted his neatly polished shoes placed under the edge of the couch. There was also a fresh suit, with the addition of a pair socks and black briefs laying on one of the adjacent chairs.
Five looked down at the slumped blanket around his ankles, then his hands.
He still had on his undershirt and underwear, a pair exactly like the ones on the chair, but that was it. He’d been cleaned up, no more frosting anywhere.
Kicking free of the slumped blanket at his feet, he stomped over to his desk, eyes on the journal laying there and the slightly smashed piece of cake that had another post-it note next to it that said, ‘Once you’ve had your nap time, and snack time is over, put your big-boy pants back on and read this over for me, please.’
Looking at the door, his expression soured even more.
Picking up the leather-bound book, he recalled that you said it was his, but he didn’t remember it. Then again, this wasn’t the first time he’d left something for himself to find later.
Shoving memories of the subway station out of his mind, Five opened it, his finger running along the date and time noted at the top of the first page. There was no denying he’d written it.
Slowly sitting down, his eyes moved along, reading the detailed directions explaining all the things you were supposed to do before he got there. Things like making sure certain people from his past only remembered what they needed to remember, and that meant for some, like his ex-supervisor, some remembered nothing.
For his family, their memories were more complicated because they were a part of things that needed to be remembered, but in clipping bits of time from their minds, he stated it would allow them the easiest transition.
Further diving into this new reality, Five read that many of the superpowered Hargreeves, including some of the Sparrows, worked for him and were involved in a new initiative of non-kill orders for all time corrective actions.
They’d been wiped. Just like you said. The device used to do it, one he told you to make, and it sounded a lot like the one Reginald used to erase the memories of how the original Ben died.
That happened. It all did. Five remembered it and his notes said the others would too- for the most part.
The past still happened because it had to, but that didn’t mean everyone needed to be burdened with the heavier traumas of it. That idea was a core value stated in The Temps Commission’s original doctrine, also written by him, conveniently there on the desk for him to go over.
All of it confirmed what you said. He was the Founder of The Commission; the same place that let him waste away in the apocalypse for forty years and then go through the rest of this crap. Apparently, that cruel joke didn’t just come to fruition in the Sparrow timeline spin off.
It was madness.
Somehow, his family survived, powers intact. He got them out of there at the last second, with none of them aware that anything odd was happening when you’d come up to them at the park, waving your specially calibrated brain wave eraser in front of their smiling faces.
You were an invited guest to their event and so was Herb. They knew you and trusted you, just like he supposedly did, only he didn’t.
Hearing a soft knock at the door, Five tensed.
“Come in.”
Herb timidly stepped inside, leaving the door ajar to the empty hallway. He lowered his chin and shook his head as if he already knew that what he was going to say was something Five wouldn’t want to hear. “That was a bumpy start,” he began. “We didn’t see that coming and we are so sorry about that. If we-”
“How long have you known about this,” Five sharply cut in.
“As you’ve read, that’s complicated,” he carefully replied.
“Herb,” Five sighed, his hand rubbing the worry line between his eyes. “All I have ever wanted was for this to end, but I don’t-"
Herb held up his hand stopping him. “I know you don’t want this. We all know what you’ve given to this place already, but we need you. With what you are capable of, your unique skill set makes you a perfect choice to run this organization.”
Herb paused, hoping Five understood that but he looked as unconvinced as before.
“This doesn’t have to be forever,” he tried. “The board just wants reassurance, and with you at the helm, it’s clear that people here will feel more comfortable about this transition. We no longer focus on preventing complications from the other timelines breaking off because there is only one timeline now. You took care of that by allowing The Cleanse to happen. Now we are here to ensure someone is present in case anything like this threatens us again. This is a big change for everyone,” he clarified, as if Five didn’t already grasp how big this was.
“And Reginald?” he quietly questioned, his troubled eyes pulling downward.
“Gone with the Cleanse,” you answered, coming into his office, “but as far as anyone else knows, he died years ago. You were there to spread his ashes. Many things are the same as before, but with the addition of the things that changed during the last five years you were gone, only you do not work for the CIA, even if that’s the cover we are using.”
You strolled over, sitting down next to Herb.
“The element your father’s wife inadvertently created as a byproduct of producing the thing they called ‘marigold’ is also gone. The marigold is still in all of you,” you furthered.
“That alien was not my dad,” Five tartly retorted, “and your presence here is not needed.”
When you didn’t move, he pointed to the door.
You crossed your legs, eyeing Five wearily. Putting a hand on your friend’s shoulder, you said, “You can head home, Herb. You haven’t slept in days.”
He smiled. “Neither have you.” He looked to Five, tiredly getting up. “Please listen. She’s smart. That is why you hired her.”
Five’s brows furrowed as he took in the weight of what Herb said. He looked down at his lap, but the second the older looking man left the room, he looked back up, eyeing you with the same contempt. “No syringe?” he coldly dangled.
“No pants?” you countered.
He cocked his chin. “Why bother? You already violated me while I was unconscious. I figured this way if you came at me again; there’d be less in the way if you really wanted to go hard stomping on my dick.”
“You are the only one here being combative, but if you want me to stomp on your dick, keep it up, I will, but I’d much rather finish this debriefing, filling you in on anything else you might not recall, which sounds like everything you did to get here from this point on.”
“Time loops are a bitch, and you are…” He didn’t finish, instead he picked up his fork, putting his focus on stabbing his piece of cake into even more of a disaster.
“You don’t like me. Got it loud and clear,” you said, “but after meeting you, I must admit, I don’t like you either. Before this, I admired you, but you are nothing like the person I thought you were based on all the great things I read in your files.”
“Well… Most things look better on paper,” he sneered.
“Look… How about I just do what I am here to do, and you do the same?” you offered. “Cut the lines of bullshit you hate so much? Because that’s what this pissing match is. Waste of time bullshit.”
“Fine.”
“As I was about to say,” you started again, laying out your sheets of chemical equations for him to follow as you explained. “For Reginald’s dearly departed wife, in making the one element that also gave a fast track to your births, and then the other not so nice one Jennifer got stuck with, she essentially shot a machine gun at a needle in a haystack, but the bullet and needle didn’t fuse together completely, and you just witnessed the ricochetted result of that when they did finally fuse with Ben and Jennifer getting together, the bad part of that synthetic reaction vanishing forever in a timeline that is no more. Story done.”
“So, you are saying we weren’t the cause of all this?” he asked, still not believing it.
“No,” you said. “Abigail’s bad science was and that really wasn’t that hard to figure out. It only took me a few days once I was given the top-secret files you left behind for Herb to find in your Paradox Proof bunker.”
“That’s impossible. I’m the only one that can get in there,” Five argued.
“Not exactly,” you calmly disagreed. “After Dallas, when Herb was holding the temporary position of Chairmen of the Board, he gained access to many interesting things you hide around here, including a glass eye you had made that was a replica of yours.”
“The retinal scan,” Five murmured under his breath.
“Yes. You were very busy at some point in the future, and lucky us, everything you did paid off.”
Saying nothing, Five didn’t look like he felt lucky, but when he didn’t question you more about the bunker, you moved on.
“Another thing you probably don’t remember figuring out, is that when it comes to thinking you were all only born because of the release of the Marigold on our planet, that isn’t true. You all would have been born regardless. All your mothers were already pregnant, only days along and none knew it yet. You all had fathers and mothers, just like the rest of us, only with you, the second that alien dusting of orange entered our atmosphere, it needed to find a host and you were it, the perfect jump off point for a miracle.”
“The Umbrella Academy?” he asked, dismissing your explanation about his parents, like it didn’t matter that he wasn’t just alive because of aliens playing God.
“It happened. You were all acquired by Reginald, same as before,” you continued. “The world knows about most of you like they always did, and they are aware you’re back, the details of your disappearance understood to be a complication due to your ability to spatially jump. The running story is you were frozen between jumps, not that you’d jumped to the future. We don’t want the entire world knowing about time travel and your ability to do it, or ours.”
“So, there you have it,” Five scoffed.
“Dumbed down, yes, but I thought since you’ve had a hard day, you’d appreciate that.”
“Are you one of us?” he asked as he studied you, for the first time his eyes not darting away from yours when you determinedly refused to look away.
“No,” you half laughed, half scoffed. “As you can see,” you waved a hand in front of yourself, “I am not the same age as your siblings, but I suppose when it comes to you, that means little, so fair question. Unlike you, I am the age I appear to be, which I’m guessing is not much off from you physically at this point. I was plucked out of college to come here, and since then, I devoted my life to being here to help you in any way I can, and I assure I am qualified to do it otherwise—”
“Otherwise, I wouldn’t have hired you,” he finished for you. Hand at his mouth, anxiously edging his teeth across his thumbnail, Five’s eyes grew distant again.
Silence filled the room.
“We have a meeting with the board in the morning. I will drop off the agenda early enough for you to go over it beforehand,” you said, pushing your chair out to get up.
You waited a moment for him to look up, but he didn’t, so you headed to the door, turning just before you left.
“This is over,” you said, the anger in your voice completely gone. “At least you can take solace in that.”
You shut the door behind you.
Still seeing the delicate features of your face overlapping those of the mysterious boy on the balcony who’d looked like him, only not, Five mentally kicked himself.
“This isn’t over,” he breathed.
Chapter Four: I’m the Daddy Here
By the next day, when Five’s brothers dropped into his office, he had shadows under his eyes and his young bones were aching like his body really was 70 years old.
Sitting in front of him, next to Klaus, Diego stretched his arms up over his head, as he said, “Dude, you still have your shitty apartment from your CIA days to crash at, so why does it look like you’ve been pacing your secret lair all night?”
“Oh gee, I don’t know Diego,” Five threw back. “Maybe I forgot I had a place to call my own and I did pace in here all night? Unlike you, I have bigger things on my mind than which Hawaiian shirt I’m going to wear to work.”
“You look so Miami Vice,” Klaus said, giving Diego a high five, before he moved his attention to Five. “What are you whining about, man? We are riding on a gravy train with biscuit wheels.” He threw his arms around like they should look around him. “We won!”
Five lips pursed tighter.
Klaus’s jaw dropped as he looked over at Diego. “What… We didn’t win? We’re all in the void?”
Diego laughed. “For a someone with the powers of divine entity you sure are—"
“We won,” Five interrupted, bringing them back to the point. “Or I should say, we will, but not unless I finish this.”
“You did finish this. We are here and life is good,” Diego pointed out, moving on to what he felt the real problem was. “Are you happy, Five? And what does that even mean to you outside of making sure we all keep breathing? Maybe the answer to that is why you’re still struggling. Apocalypse addiction is a-“
“Fuck you, Diego. I don’t need one of your psych ward therapy sessions you and Lila get off on. I need to have a kid! If I don’t, we will all cease to exist and there will be no do over this time and that is very bad!”
“How do you know that?” he questioned, his amused smile still proving that he thought they were just having one of their usual lectures with Five about him needing to get out more.
“Shit. Is it hot in here?” Five complained, yanking at his collar.
“Earth to Five,” Diego rammed him, “I asked you a question.”
Having loosened his tie enough to feel like the walls weren’t closing in on him, Five testily said, “I know this, Diego, because a kid that looked a lot like me was there just before The Cleanse finished its job, and he called me dad. If he hadn’t been there and said what he did, verbally slapping me into doing something, we wouldn’t be here.”
“What?!” Klaus bellowed. “No way! You’re a dad!”
“No,” Five sighed. “I will be a dad in the future-maybe.”
“Maybe!? Why didn’t you tell us this!” Diego yelled, nearly falling out of his chair.
“I am telling you,” Five replied.
“Yeah, sure,” Diego huffed. “Now you are. And why does your kid have powers and mine and Allison’s don’t?”
“Wow. It’s just like Marty McFly in Back to the Future.” Klaus lifted his hand, checking to see if it was disappearing yet.
Five tiredly smiled at him. “It’s not at all like that. Time loops don’t work that way. If we evaporate, it will be instantaneous, and at this point, I have no idea how long I have to prevent it. There will be no warning.”
“Time loops shhh-mime loops,” Diego said, running his fingers over his mustache. “You know we don’t understand any of that shit. But hey, this doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Your nuts are full of superpowered swimmers. You should be excited.”
Five rolled his eyes. “Excitement is not exactly what I’d call what I am feeling. If I don’t produce a magical progeny, none of the things I have done will matter. We all die anyway. Case in point, this is a bad thing.”
“Shoot,” Klaus whistled. “If you’d known this years ago you could have spent way less time privately polishing your palm and instead been out trying to impregnate the world with your superpowered sperm.”
Five groaned. “That wouldn’t have worked, because it needs to happen now. After The Cleanse and the time situation was fixed.”
“I don’t get what the big deal is,” Klaus insisted. “You’re a stud. Get out there and have some fun.”
“And if it’s having kids you are worried about, they are both the best and worst thing that can happen to you,” Diego added. “I would know. Having three of them putting their sticky little fingers on all our shit all the time isn’t awesome, but creating them was fun.” He nudged Klaus. “This one time when Lila and I were in the back of Wanda we—"
“Not another word!” Five yelled.
“Whatever, man,” Diego chuckled. “You just need to see the bright side. Your kid was trying to help you and did.” He cleared his throat. “When it comes to Dolores, you can beat the meat with her all day but you’ll never beat the real th-“
“Please stop,” Five groaned again, burying his head in his hands.
Nodding his head in agreement, Klaus grinned hopefully. “I think what Diego is trying to say is having a breathing lady has its benef—"
“We’re done!” Five snapped, as he sprung forward. “If you don’t zip it, I’m going to blink you downstairs to the incinerator and lock you in there.” Slamming his index finger down on his desk, pointing at his gigantic desk pad calendar, he grinned maniacally. “And what do you know, it’s garbage day! You won’t be swimming in last week’s rotting tuna salad for long.”
“You’d never do that to us.”
“Really, Diego? You want to test that?”
Five’s brothers glanced at each other, eyebrows raised, like testing that wasn’t such a bad way to spend their afternoon.
“Five—"
“No, Klaus! Like I told Luther. I’M THE DADDY HERE! I am done entertaining you idiots. Get out!”
“Settled down,” Diego laughed. “We’re just trying to help you see that this isn’t so bad. And with the kid thing, I love mine and you do too. Speaking of which, it would be nice if their favorite uncle babysat them more often. Lila and I haven’t had a night out in a while.”
“I babysit,” Five defended.
“Not enough,” Diego shot back, pointing Five’s ballpoint pen at him.
Reaching forward, Five swiped it away. “Deigo, if I came over more often so you dipshits could go out and do disgusting things in your van, then you’d be dealing with more than three sticky-fingered monsters.”
Diego glanced at Klaus, then back at Five, smirking. “Say what you will, but I know you love being an uncle. The mountain of stuffed animals each of the girls has is proof of that.”
Tipping his weight back in his chair, Five folded his hands over his lap, wearily eyeing his brother. “I am not wrong,” he said, ignoring the point about his nieces and how much he enjoyed spoiling them. “You still have no idea how this baby making thing works and it’s only a matter of time before you’ll be complaining about baby number four on the way and how you already have no room in your house for all the people living there.”
Diego scowled. “Hey… I understand how it works just fine. I already told you guys the last two weren’t my fault. Lila told me she couldn’t get pregnant while breastfeeding.”
“And you should believe everything your wacko wife says?”
“Yes.” No longer able to contain it, Diego burst out laughing. “Five. This about you, not me, and as much as you want to act like you know it all. When it comes to enjoying the good parts of life, you are still about as fresh out the gate as you can get. Just flirt with a girl. Get to fucking her on the regular, and ta-da, circle of destiny complete. No more death knocking on our doors.”
Five let out heavy sigh. “It isn’t as easy as that.”
Raising his hands in an open palm gesture, Klaus said, “Maybe it is.”
Five narrowed his eyes. “You have no idea what you are talking about, or what I have been through. Or the complications I am dealing with.”
“We get your hangups, we really do but,” Diego chimed in.
“No, you don’t!”
“Then tell us.”
“It’s her!” Five angrily pointed to the door. “The woman I hired who loathes me for reasons I can’t really blame her for, not when I’ve been such a colossal asshole to her. She’s the one! It has to be the right person for this kid to be the exact same kid I saw, and it’s her. She's the mom!”
“How do you know?”
“I just do, Diego!”
When neither Klaus nor Diego stopped staring at him, Five started counting on his hands.
“I know because…
One: The boy had my pocket watch that she also had on her when I got here. He threw it and she dropped it, all within seconds of our timelines merging.
Two: She has his eyes! They were my color green but the shape of hers!”
Five shook his head, his hands shaking he was so upset.
“The way they both look when they smile…” he breathed, “the curve of her lips is the same as his. Him being there with that watch wasn’t a coincidence. For him to be there at all, that means he jumped between timelines. I sure as hell couldn't do that, but if I could have, I know that everything you take with you on that kind of impossible journey would make it that much harder. He brought that watch with him because he was trying to point me in the right direction with her and I didn’t see it until it was too late, and now the only deal I’ll be sealing with his mother if I try to hit on her is going to be a kick in my magical nuts.”
Like a deflating balloon, Five sunk his face into his arms where he had them folded on top of his desk.
“It’s not too late. You guys seem to get along,” Klaus soothed.
Five shook his head no, not bothering to look up.
“Just be nice to her,” Diego unhelpfully added.
“I think it’s a little past that,” Five mumbled.
Chapter Five: Entente
“Say nothing,” Five warned. “I don’t need everyone up my ass. You two knowing is bad enough.”
Tapping your knuckles on the door, Klaus called out extra high pitched, telling you to come in.
“Who’s daddy here?” you said, your smile getting bigger as you asked about the outburst you just overheard from your office next door.
“Five is,” Klaus happily exclaimed.
“Incinerator!” Five barked, wildly motioning at him like he was going to slice his head off with his index finger.
“Blah, blah, blah,” Diego said, his hand mimicking the action of a mouth as he squawked it at Five. “We need to get this show on the road. I’m gonna tell—”
“Diego, so help me,” he hissed, cutting him off.
“I’m sorry to interrupt,” you said, your eyebrows drawing together, “but some of us have a meeting in two minutes.”
Five quickly picked up his notes and pushed out of his chair. “Shall we?” he said, directing you to lead the way with an assertive wave of his hand.
You walked in silence to the boardroom, but reaching the door, Five unexpectedly placed his hand on your upper arm, holding you back.
Coming past, Diego smacked his ass. “Don’t look so spooked, kid.”
“I will kill you,” Five replied, his voice as sugary sweet as his fake smile.
Still laughing, Diego joined the others
“What’s so funny?” Lila asked, before shoving him down in his chair, opposite yours, next to the head of the table.
“Five,” he answered.
“When isn’t he? I mean look at him,” she said, eyeing you both up with a curious look before looking back at her husband, giving him an even more devilish smirk than she’d given you. “Why don’t you spank me like that?”
“Oh, I’ll give you a spanking, babe, especially if you keep looking at me like you want to go for a ride on my sweet mustache.”
“LA-LA-LA-LA!” Ben bellowed. “We do not need to hear this, you ASSHOLES!”
“I’m sorry,” Five quietly breathed, directing your attention away from the Hargreeves family daily bickering forum. “What you have done here for me, and for them, I don’t have the words to express how thankful I am.”
He paused, the sincerity in his eyes startling you.
Without hesitation, you reached out, your fingers slowly sliding up the length of black silk leading to his neck. “There,” you said, fixing his knot. “You didn’t seem to be aware you were all twisted.”
Looking humorously befuddled, Five’s Adam’s apple bobbed up then down. “I am not aware of a lot of things going on,” he quietly replied.
“No? You?” you teased.
“Thank you,” he said again.
“You’re welcome. Now, shall we?” you asked, as you gave him the same heavy-handed gesture he’d given you in his office.
~~~
For the next hour and half, Five sat at the head of the table in a board room full of people all appointed by him. Even Elliot was sitting in as the new director of analytics since Diego and Herb and Lila were now acting as supervisors over all operations that either he or you weren’t.
He’d read your notes, telling him what to expect, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t lost. Still, each time a question was directed at him that he couldn’t readily answer, you seamlessly stepped in, replying for him. No one was the wiser that he was floundering, but by the end of the day, your smooth handling of him was only adding to how uncomfortable he felt.
Shutting the door to his office, briefcase in hand, Five was about to open a portal to travel forward in time, back to his musty old apartment, but then he heard something.
Turning, he saw your office door was open. He came that way, moving into the light streaming into the hall.
“What is all this?” he questioned, watching you trying to ram a stack of boxes in the corner, your sock covered feet repeatedly slipping across the slick flooring because the tower of cardboard cubes weighed more than you.
“These are all my worldly possessions,” you replied, glancing his way before giving your things one final shove. Bending straight, you placed a hand to your sore lower back, massaging it. “Since the sale of all employee housing and other unused buildings started, and then prepping for you all coming back, I have been a tad bit busy. I haven’t had time to find a new place. So this is it for me right now.”
Taking in your short cotton sleep shorts and well worn t-shirt, when you busted him staring at how your shirt had fallen off your shoulder, Five diverted his gaze to your small meeting table covered with disassembled briefcase parts. “You’ve been sleeping in here? Where?” he asked, sounding very concerned.
“Most of the time, I sleep with my head on my desk, waking up with a tattoo of whatever I was working on the night prior inked on the side of my face,” you said, laughing a little. “This morning, that was the user manual for the new watches that will replace those huge briefcases. The roll out should be ready next week. I just need to get the mockup version down to research and development and they can take it from there.”
Five frowned even more, which made you smile even more. “You figured out how to recalibrate the energy field alternators so they’d fit in something that small?”
“I did, but it was you who invented the briefcases to begin with. I just used your original notes and changed a few things. We have a pretty bracelet version too if you’d rather that over the watch?”
“Huh…” Five looked impressed, and at a loss of words.
When he didn’t move from the threshold of your door, you took pity on him. “Would you like to have a look?” You gestured to the scattering of tubes and sapphire-colored vials of glowing liquid energy that he at some point down the road created to mimic what he naturally produced when he time traveled.
Coming in, Five set his briefcase down and started to look over your work.
“I think the watch version will be just fine,” he said. “Thank you for fixing this one for me. Seems you are very good at fixing things I can’t figure out.” As you looked down at the silver chain hooked to his vest, he smirked.
“Watch it is,” you said, getting more and more flushed as he rocked back on his heels, his hands fiddling in his pants pockets as if daring you to look just a little lower.
“Can we talk?” he asked, breaking the awkward tension, but also worrying you with the way his cocky smile instantly evaporated.
“Ah… Sure.” Heading to your desk, you removed the garment bags hanging over one of the two chairs co-workers usually sat in. Sitting down in the chair across from him as he lowered himself in the spot you cleared, you said, “What’s on your mind?”
“What would you say if I told you, that when it comes to me needing your help, the complexity of things I asked you to do so far only touched the tip of the iceberg when compared to what I’m about to ask next?”
“I’d say we need a drink,” you laughed.
“I’d say yes to that,” he said, the tiniest pull at his lips again making his eyes gleam and your cheeks feel warm.
Thankful for a reason to look away, you opened your desk drawer, pulling out a bottle of Scotch and two glasses.
“That’s a good one,” he noted.
You cracked the seal, pouring a few fingers worth for each of you. “I’m sure it is,” you replied. “I heard the boss enjoyed this brand and I was going to give it to him as a welcoming back gift, but he turned out to be a dick, so I kept it.”
You pushed his glass across your desk.
“To bad bosses and putting them in their place,” he suggested, raising his glass.
You fluttered your eyelashes at him overly cutely, clinking his glass with yours. “To telling you off.”
Taking a sip, Five nodded his approval, his grin deepening.
“Speaking of workplace relationships,” he said. “That brings me back to what I need to talk to you about.”
“Go on.” You took another drink.
“I would rather gargle a pinecone than have to say this, but I have no choice. This isn’t just about me and if I live to see another day or not. It’s about my family too.”
You set your glass down, your eyes glued to his. “What do you mean if you get to see another day or not?”
“What I mean is, the only reason my family and I, or any like us, are here is because of something my future kid said to me right before I dropped out of the sky landing in a cake. If he hadn’t paid me a visit, telling me to move my ass and not let The Cleanse eat us, we’d be dead and never been born at all as far as you’d be concerned. Now, if I don’t succeed in producing him, this entire causality loop will disintegrate, my family along with it.”
“The kid you asked about?” you breathed, remembering Five yelling at you in the park about a kid, right before he knocked you on your ass a second time.
“Yeah. That kid. Our kid,” he said.
You started rubbing your temples. “Our kid, you say?”
He nodded.
“And you know I’m a part of this how?”
“There were clues,” he said, rolling his eyes, but not at you. “I stupidly didn’t put any of them together until after I repeatedly insulted your intelligence and unleashed my wounded ego on you.”
“What kind of clues?”
“Big ones, like every part of him I saw was half you, down to the way you are looking at me right now with those pouty lips.”
“I am not pouting.”
“Neither was he.” Five titled his head down, looking at his drink he hadn’t touched since the first taste.
“What are you asking?”
He looked up and laughed weakly. “I think you know.”
“You want me to have a kid with you, so this future person can exist to complete a loophole in time or all of you will be gone-just poof?”
“Yes. But it’s more of a causality loop than a loophole,” he corrected, the hint of his smirk playing up the corner of his mouth.
“That’s it?”
Five leaned forward, setting his glass down a few inches from yours. Sitting back in his chair, he steepled his hands at his chin, his face becoming even more forlorn. “We can do this no-strings attached,” he offered. “I will raise our son alone if that’s your wish, or we can do it together, but you owe me nothing. I will support you either way. It’s all strictly business with this deal.”
“This is not at all what I thought we were going to be talking about,” you said, staring at him, still looking for sign he was fucking with you.
“This is a matter of life and death, and I would never put this on you if it was just me I was worried about,” he said, his guilt evident in the tortured look filling his eyes. “It’s my family and their kids—”
“No, I get it. You mentioned the family thing,” you quickly cut in, holding your hand up as you shut your eyes. The lines in your forehead deepened when you looked back again. “How long do we have… I mean, can I think on it?”
“I don’t know how long. I could have days or even years to get you pregnant.What I do know is, if I don’t do it fast enough and suddenly I’m gone, there will be no going back with a briefcase for a do over. That said… of course you can think on it.”
You said nothing, your eyes darting around your messy desktop.
Five started to get up. “I’m sorry.” The sound of his voice was about as self-deprecating as it could get. “I am not the type to say those two dirty words very often, but with you,” He smiled sadly again, then picked up his briefcase, “it’s something I might as well start every sentence with.”
When you said nothing, Five finally turned his gaze downward, swallowing hard before he opened his mouth again.
“I’m sure I’m the last person you want to procreate with, and there are other less touchy ways of getting this done, but with time of the essence, and with how high the stakes are, I’d prefer if you agree to do this, we do it the old-fashioned way. The odds of it working are higher that way and there is no need to involve anyone else.”
“Makes sense,” you quietly replied, your cheeks flushing as much as his suddenly were.
“You are welcome to sleep on the couch in my office,” he offered, looking around your office again. “The blanket you left me is still in there, and it’s not my place to say it, but I did put you in this situation and I’d feel much better knowing you were in there, not in here, waking up with lines from a boring user manual printed to your pretty face.”
He cocked his head to the side and smiled.
You silently nodded, then Five activated his briefcase, leaving you alone, shaken beyond words.
Chapter Six: Only Fools Rush In
Knocking over your unfinished third glass of Scotch when you accidently threw your hand into it while readjusting your face on the stack of books you’d taken out to reference, you gave in, going to Five’s office to sleep on his couch.
He’d only laid on it once, but when you were doing the same thing, you felt his presence as if he were right there. Everything in your life revolved around Five Hargreeves, and now even your blanket smelled like him, and so did the end pillow you had your head on.
It wasn’t a bad smell. Even passed out and covered in cake, Five smelled good, like a minty warm scent mixed with something earthy and wild. When you cleaned him up, you couldn’t help but notice his prominent jaw that could cut glass, or his shiny dark hair that was as soft as it looked.
Despite a decent place to sleep, all you could do was think about what he wanted you to do with him.
Way before he came in for the day, you were up and out of there. Showering down in the now mostly unused field agent locker rooms, you dressed in your usual modern day pencil skirt and blouse paired with heels, taking a little more time than normal at the mirror.
“Calm down,” you lectured your reflection.
Coming past Five’s open office door a while later, seeing him working alongside Herb at a chalkboard one of them had wheeled in, just breathing normally became a task you’d rather not add to your many others.
Five looked immaculate. He was wearing a new suit-three piece, like his others, but this one was tailored in a way that accentuated everything about him you were trying not to think about.
The figure he cut was full of promise and unimaginable power if he only thought of wielding it. Yet, he was noticeably relaxed in all his movements, everything he did deliberate, down to the way he looked your way for just a second, politely smiling, then went right back to scratching his numbers on the green slate as if you weren't still there staring.
At any second he could disappear, his family, and the young boy he told you about too, and thinking about that devastated you in ways you didn’t even have words or emotions to convey.
Sitting down in The Commission cafeteria hours later, you anxiously watched as Five moved through the line, loading his tray while in conversation with Viktor and Luther.
Nervously tapping your index finger against your milk carton, you waited. The moment he noticed you looking, he came your way.
“Can I join you?” he asked, approaching your empty table.
“Let’s do it,” you blurted.
Five slowly dropped down on the bench across from you. “Yeah?”
“It’s the only option,” you less embarrassingly replied. “I may not have my head wrapped around all of this, but I don’t know what I’d do if all of you suddenly weren’t here anymore. Explaining that to the kids and just… No. It can’t happen. I won’t let it.”
He nodded, letting go of his tray as he sat back.
“When?” he asked, his soft smile and twinkly green eyes filled with relief.
“Now. If you are ready? The sooner we do it, the sooner we know you are all safe, right?”
“Right,” he said, his increasing eagerness showing in the hyperfocus of his cunning eyes as they quickly moved from yours, to the door of the lunch hall, then back again. “Come on.” Getting up, leaving his untouched food where it sat, Five took off.
He dashed down the busy hall past the lobby area, heading for the stairs.
“Where?” he called out.
“I don’t know?” you breathed back, still trying to catch up.
Heading down the hall towards your offices, seeing the busy flow of people working down at that end of the building, Five stopped in his tracks.
He glanced over at the bathroom door a few doors back in the direction you just came.
Restless looking as before, taking you by the hand, he spun you around like he was leading you in a dance, pulling your back against his chest.
You had no time to recognize that the heat you were feeling wasn’t just from his body suddenly pressed to yours. Static energy sizzled, the light from it so bright your eyes automatically flew shut as he blinked you away with him.
Appearing with your feet back on solid floor, your breath whooshing out of your pounding chest, the harsh smell of cleaners filled your nose.
You opened your eyes to the sight of a toilet and a wall in front of you.
Once sure you weren’t going to topple over, Five stepped back, the sound of the bathroom stall door behind him bumping into his back before it creaked closed.
“Are you sure about this?” he asked, his voice so low behind your ear that only you could hear it over the sound of the person washing their hands at the sinks.
“Yes,” you whispered.
There was a soft turning of the metal as Five latched the door.
Hinges squealed and two seconds later, the heavy wooden door to the hallway banged close.
~~~
Approaching you from behind, Five’s cock twitched. Just looking at you like this was enough to make it happen. He palmed himself through the fabric of his pants, an unexpected thrust of his hips threatening to topple him forward.
His entire body was so alert it was vibrating, the desire in his loins building to a fever pitch.
His trembling hand brushed against your hair, brushing it aside so he could see the side of your face, the other working to get his zipper down.
You let out a surprised gasp when he suddenly forced one leg between your thighs, parting them easily.
Having freed himself from his pants, feeling your whole-body tense as he pressed up against you, his head swimming with lust, he launched at your throat. Biting at your soft skin hard enough to sting, you reactively cried out.
“Quiet,” he growled, then thrust himself against you again, his fingers dragging the fabric of your skirt up your legs.
Sliding his palm down your stomach, Five pushed your panties down with the motion of his fingers clumsily running between your folds, a quick smile spreading across the back of your neck when he felt how wet you were.
His hand at your back, pushing you forward until your feet fell out of your slingback heels, you were forced up on your tippy toes with your hands falling into the wall behind the toilet. In one forward thrust, he buried himself, his body crushing against your back.
Feeling himself throbbing inside you, Five began to move, his fingers pulling away from your clit so he could put them on your hip, opposite his other hand. Rapidly thwapping his pelvis against the erotic feeling of your squishy butt cheeks, he bit at your shoulder again.
Fingers digging in, he yanked you towards him with each thrust. Then, going harder, his heels coming off the floor, he bottomed out.
You cried out, his hand just as fast flying off your hip, covering your mouth.
Pulling your head back to his shoulder, Five’s thrusts became rougher, more insistent. Groaning into your ear, his ragged gasps signaled his rapidly approaching climax.
In one fluid thrust he withdrew almost all the way out, then sunk back in as he came, finishing with a few shuttering jerks of his hips.
His hands slowly slipped from your mouth to rest at your throat as he fought to catch his breath.
You didn't move until he backed away, letting your skirt drop back into place.
Hot come started trailing hot down your inner thigh.
Sounds from the hall filled the tiled room with voices, then the door closed again. Footsteps moved across the bathroom, the metal partition surrounding you rattling as one of The Commission’s staff enclosed themselves in the stall one away from yours.
Burning from the force of Five’s entry, your entire body shaking, you started to turn around. Refusing to meet your eye, or even acknowledge you were there, as soon as Five had his pants fastened, he blinked away.
~~~
When you reached Five’s office a few minutes later, he was standing inside, looking over his mail.
Marching over, you said, “When I said let’s do this, I didn’t mean I wanted it like this!”
“What did you mean like this?” he hotly shot back, throwing down his letter opener.
“I have feelings! I am not a fuck doll!” you fired back at him. “Why did you just leave me like that?” Five bristled, his nostrils flaring. “I fucked you. That’s what we agreed we are doing, remember? I can’t help that you wanted it right then and there. Your pussy was clenching on my dick so hard, there’s no way you didn’t get off. What more do you want from me? I did my part.”
You slapped him.
Holding his cheek, Five let out a shallow breath, a clear sense of confusion in his stunned eyes.
“You don’t just fuck someone like that and disappear!”
“What’d you expect me to do?” he yelled back just as Elliot walked in, quickly pivoting back out the door the second he heard the still very intimidating man he once thought was a scary little alien boy going off on you.
“I don’t know what I expected, but I… I just thought…” Feeling your eyes prickle, you looked away. “It doesn’t matter. You don’t care.” “Do you want me to care?” “You are such a prick,” you muttered.
By the time Five’s thoughts had merged together to form a defense, you were gone, slamming the door behind you.
Chapter 7: Public Displays
“I didn't ask for this!” Five growled, about to come after you as he swung his door open to find his brother standing outside, his hand raised to knock.
“What,” Diego asked, “having a nice conversation with a real woman?”
“No!” he barked, stomping past, heading to your office, but right away, he saw Dot at your desk, not you. Coming back out, he raked a hand through his hair, cursing under his breath.
“Did you tell her?” Diego pushed.
“Yes, I told her.”
“Did she say yes to jumping your little bones?”
Five breathed in, his teeth clenching as his shoulders bounced.
Diego grinned. “You banged her already, didn't you?” “Why don't you irritate Lila and leave me alone.”
“Oh! You did!” Diego started pumping his fist. “Yes! That’s what I’m talking about… I knew you wouldn’t let us down, and with the rest, I’m just messing with you, man. Lighten up. That’s part of your problem.”
Five clapped his hands together brandishing a fake smile. “Nobody said I had a problem but you, and whatever this is, is over. I am in no mood to fight with you.”
“This was not a fight. And if it was, I’d win.” Diego threw his arm around Five’s shoulder, pulling him back inside his office. Letting him go once inside, he said, “And sure, nobody said you had a problem, but that girl’s teary face did when she just passed me.”
“She was crying?”
“She was doing that thing women do when they are trying not to.”
“Shit.”
“Five,” Diego said, in a very big brotherly tone, “for so long you’ve had to evaluate everything under the brutal terms of survival, all things either being irrelevant or not, but with this one, maybe that’s not the way to go. Kill the emotionally stunted old man shit. I know you have the hots for her. She’s perfect for you, which I’m betting is why you hired her, that, and she’s way smarter than you, which again goes back to why I know you are being a dick.”
“You have no idea what you are talking about.”
“I don’t? So, you didn’t just do something stupid?”
“It’s so much more than that,” Five said, his eyes turning even more tormented looking as he looked away, then back again, doing his best to keep it together.
Diego smiled. “You are a good person, man. You can fix this.”
Sad and angry, Five said nothing, and he continued to say nothing to Diego about it, or you for the rest of the day, and then the next, and then the next. You kept doing your job, of course, communicating with him when necessary, but that was it, and it was killing him.
Diego was right. He had to do something. It was his fault-again.
Day four, Five couldn’t take it anymore.
Lightly tapping on your door frame, you looked up from your desk. He raised one of the two coffee cups he was holding. Offering a smile. “Two sugars, one cream?”
Your pen slowed to a stop. “Why would you know that?”
He came in. “I know that because, over the last few days I’ve been asking the girls around here all sorts of things about you, and because of my persistent inquiries with them and pretty much everyone else around here, I’m fairly certain the entire building knows their boss is falling hard for you.”
Taking the coffee from his outstretched hand, your mouth opened but nothing came out.
“I never meant to hurt you,” he whispered. “That is the last thing I wanted to do.”
Slowly standing, you asked, “Can we go for a walk?”
“I would love that,” Five quietly replied.
Once outside, strolling across the open green area between The Commission's main buildings, taking sips of his coffee to fill the silence between you, Five waited, watching you for signs of what to do.
“I suppose we can’t go far,” you finally said. “If we ventured too off campus we’d probably start a flurry of chatter with the good citizens of this quaint little town.”
Five smiled, “True. But if you wanted to change into your poodle skirt, and I could dig up some of my frumpy old man trousers somewhere, then maybe we could snag a milkshake down at the drugstore. I’d even give you some nickels for the jukebox since you’re my favorite girl.”
“I like you in your old man trousers, and I’m not your favorite girl. But nice try,” you laughed.
“I get to decide who my favorite girl is, not you and I’d like you in anything,” he retorted. “And hey…” He frowned. “When did you see me looking like the crazy old bastard I really am?”
“In your files and footage on the Infinite Switch board. I did my research. I take my job very seriously, as you know.” You gave him an even more teasing looking grin, then added, “I can’t wait to see you with that cute mustache again.”
“You can’t?”
Taking Five’s hand in yours, you pulled him over to a shady bench under the fluttering leaves of a towering oak tree.
Once you had him sitting, you let go, watching his fingers fidgeting with unease as they came around his cup with the others, gripping it way too tight.
“Five…”
He looked up, meeting your gaze.
“I was hurt about what happened in the bathroom because you are right,” you started. “What you did, the way you did it… Everything about you and that was hot. With just that moment of amazing sex, you left me ruined and it really scared me.”
“It scared me too,” he admitted, his soft eyes searching yours. “That’s why I left.”
“All I wanted was for you to hold me,” you said. “Anything but leave.”
“The last thing I wanted was to leave but I thought you’d only agreed to do this because you felt like there was no other choice. I asked you to have a child with me, but that didn’t mean you had to be with me more than that..”
“Five…” you said, setting down your cup so you could take his hand in yours again. “The moment I was hired, everything I learned about you further proved what an amazing person I already thought you were. I was fighting an embarrassing schoolgirl level crush on you even before you got here, and since, it's only gotten worse despite you being a jerk most of the time. That’s how much you mean to me.”
“It’s not just me feeling this way?”
“No. It’s not just you,” you said, as he lovingly caressed the underside of your wrist with the tips of his fingers.
“Can we start over?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper, his emerald eyes about as worried looking as you’d ever seen them.
“We already are,” you said, his nervousness distracting you from your nerves.
Moving your entwined hands into Five’s lap, his breath hitched, his air intake stopping entirely when your warm palm slowly moved over his crotch.
With only a peck at first, your lips meeting his, Five whimpered against your mouth, his cock growing heavy and warm under your hand.
After only allowing yourself to feel the desperation of his kiss for just a moment longer, you pulled back, smiling at him. “You are ready to go just like that, aren’t you?”
“It’s my secret superpower,” he said, already trying to kiss you again, his tongue dipping inside your mouth, exploring.
“Just the smell of your body is enough to get me hard,” he groaned, having to break away to breathe, as you massaged your hand harder over the bulge in his pants.
Loving this, you leaned into Five more, placing extra soft brushes of your lips just below his ear.
“We need to either stop or we need to go somewhere, now!” he warned, the pitch of his strained voice so funny, you laughed, the heat of your breath against his throat enough to make him whimper like a puppy all over again.
“Get us out of here, and I won’t stop,” you said, in between kisses along his jawline.
Your discarded coffees spilling from the force of air filling the vacuum of space you’d just been sitting in, in less than a second, you were clumsily standing between buildings, only partially hidden from any onlookers by a bush full of spring flowers.
Falling into Five as he leaned his back against the brick wall behind him, you raised your eyebrows in question.
“When the blood flow to my brain is in short supply, like it is right now, it’s best I don’t try to blink somewhere I can’t already see,” he frantically explained before smashing his lips against yours again.
Working his pants down as fast as you could, you reached inside his pants, gripping his naked cock in your hand.
“Fuck,” he gasped, his hips helplessly thrusting.
His eyes becoming even more heavy-lidded, you started to move the outer skin of his shaft over the harder core.
Your other hand lowering, you cupped Five’s balls through the bunched material draping off his tensed thighs. His heartbeat already pounding in his ears, when you gave him a little squeeze, his scrotum pulsed to the same rhythm, his mind becoming even more clouded.
“Yes, do that,” he groaned.
“At night, do you think about us doing things like this?” you questioned as you smirked. “Because I do, writhing on your couch with my fingers between my legs?”
“Ffffuck yes, I think about this!” he croaked as you slid your hand up his cock, swirling your finger round and round over the glistening pleasure seeping out of him.
“How exactly do you think about me, Five?” you pushed.
He shook his head, back and forth, overwhelmed with your touch as he was by the things you were saying.
“Please tell me,” you encouraged, feeling more empowered by the second.
“I think about you underneath me,” he gasped. “I see your hands gripping my sheets, and I hear you moaning my name as my cock fills your sweet little pussy full of load after load of my come.”
“Tell me more…” you said, your smile broadening.
“I fuck my hand, pretending I’m inside of you, every fucking single morning and night. The way you smile at me, I want to bite your lips so fucking bad, and the way your body looks in your tight skirts! I want to devour you!”
Five’s breaths were coming as quick gasps and there was no point in asking him if what you were doing was right. His face pressed against your shoulder as your hand moved faster, his soft shuddering not letting up the whole time.
The sound of voices passed by, but there was no indication that whoever else was out enjoying the sunny afternoon looked your way.
Your hand slicked, moving easily over Five with the silkiness of his bountiful pre-cum, even more hot wetness began to coat your hand. At your neck Five desperately kissed you as he sucked in gulps of air.
His whole-body trembling, you ran your fingernails through the back of his hair as you slowly stroked him through the final tremors of his release.
“Holy fuck I loved everything about that, but it was not at all conducive to us achieving our goal,” he finally said, smiling as he sheepishly peered at you from under the dark curtain of hair falling over his sleepy eyes.
“No, it was not, but that was the point. This is not just about that. This was about us starting over, which I think we just did. I want you and you want me and together we are going to do our best to make a superpowered little family,” you said.
Five laughed. “You really are smarter than me, and along with this being more proof of that, I think most of my remaining dignity just went down the drain with that crazy shit I just said to you, and the rest was just obliterated after that when I jizzed all over your skirt. A gentleman might have fought you off harder, and not done that,” he said as you burrowed into his warmth, with your head resting on his shoulder.
“He might,” you agreed, “but I think we both know that you are no gentleman.”
The softness of Five’s expression as you peeked up at him only made you want to see the kind of pleasure you just drew out of him all over again. All the harshness you knew he was capable of had washed away, leaving his eyelids heavy and his wetted lips parted in silence as he held you like he never wanted to let go.
Knowing you couldn’t stay there forever, a few minutes later, watching you clean you hand off, seeing that not only when he blew his load, some of it got on your shirt too, a little of the worry had found its way back into Five’s contented expression, but you were quick to address it, wiping the milky white off with your finger before sticking it in your mouth.
 “There,” you said, pulling your cleaned finger out for him to see. “All better. Now be a good boy the rest of the day and pay my next dry-cleaning bill, and I might let you take me to dinner tonight.”
Chapter 8: Taking Care of Business
Finishing your workday, you changed into a new sundress, one that you never had the chance to wear until now. On pins and needles, springing around your office, you tried to pick up your hopeless mess, every minute Five took to get there making your heart race faster.
As you promised, if he was good the rest of the day, which he was, shortly after you saw several of his family members come out of his office, Five strolled in, a single flower in his hand, only it wasn’t a rose or anything traditional like that. It was a bloom that looked just like the ones on the bush he’d blinked behind so you could man-handle him.
Coming your way, he extended the fluffy white blossom. Taking it from him, holding it to your nose, the summery perfume enchanted your senses as much as his sweet smile.
“Ready?” he asked.
You nodded, yes.
Giving you a look that made your panties instantly wet, after a few buttons pushed on his new watch, you were off.
~~~
Like any first date, yours was filled with nervous jokes to hide insecurities, but it was exactly what you both needed to circle back to where you should have started to begin with.
As you already knew, Five was complicated. He had been through unimaginable things, some you knew about, some you didn’t. No matter where the conversation took you, when it came to his past, he was forthright, and everything new you learned only made you respect him and hurt for him more.
Five took his time asking you questions, listening patiently as you told him about your life, from the start to now. In those parts of the night, his smile never seemed to fade.
“Have you considered a day off might be in order if you are ever going to move out of your office?” he teased when you got to the part about the last few weeks.
“Yes,” you said, after swallowing another delicious drink of the Bordeaux he ordered to go with the herb-crusted roasted lamb on your plates. “But my boss would be lost without me for even a minute, so it looks like I’ll be stuck sleeping on the couch in his office indefinitely.”
“I’d rather you slept in my bed,” he silkily replied, his smile reddened even more seductively by the rich sip of wine he just licked off his lips.
You rubbed your foot along his lower pant leg, tickling your toes up and down like you’d been doing most of your dinner.
Eyes darkening, Five reached across the table, pulling your hand into his. Like every time he blinked with you so far, you had almost no warning it was coming.
Bouncing down on his mattress, propelling himself on top of you, Five’s fingers dug into your ribs, tickling with no mercy.
“Five! Stop!” you cried, laughing so hard you couldn’t breathe.
“No! You’ve been fucking with me all night!”
“I have not!”
“What do you call that move you did with your foot nudging my dick while I was ordering?” he growled, kissing your neck in-between his breathy love bites.
“My shoes! Our bill!” you complained, realizing your heels were still laying under the table at the restaurant.
“I’ll get you new ones and I already paid the bill. Now hold still so I can dominate you,” Five gleefully demanded, as you squirmed.
When he finally let up, so you could catch your breath, you got a better look around his bedroom. It was small. There was the queen bed you were on, a side table next to it with a lamp on top, and piles of books on the floor everywhere. Other than a bathroom door to your right and what appeared to be an equally small living room, just outside the door, with a kitchen area attached, that was Five’s home.
You loved all of it, from his boyishly blue plaid comforter, to the worn but cozy look of his single sad recliner.
You put your hand in the middle of his chest, lifting yourself on your elbow to gaze at him. Turning his fingers around yours, Five drew you closer with his arm, sitting you up with him.
In a much quieter game, he let his fingers play up your spine, each little bump like a run on a ladder he was climbing up your back.
Enchanted by the way he is looking as you were by his featherlight touch; your breath quickened all over again.
With a smile, licking his lips, Five slipped his hand down the back of your dress, loosening your bra until it fell out of his way. His dark hair brushing your chin, his mouth came down, gently covering your nipple through your thin cotton bodice. Hot and wet, he kissed you there, soiling the fabric as he sucked, then kissed again.
After a moment, he turned his attention to your other breast, the innocence of his expression as he enjoyed you that way so sweet you could cry.
On your knees already, raising your arms at his insistence, Five took your dress up over your hips, then over your head, tossing it aside.
Kissing you full on the mouth, your bare body trembled under his hands as he tugged at the thin straps at your hips, pulling your underwear down until he couldn’t.
Breaking away to kick out of them, he said, “I love these tiny pink panites. I hope the stripper you stole them from doesn’t ask for them back.”
Laughing and fully exposed, there was little shame left in you, but there was still shyness. You lowered your gaze, and Five took care of that by giving you hundreds of kisses until you became completely unaware of anything but how you felt about him.
You held the back of his neck as you kissed, the longer ends of his hair tickling the back of your hand. In turn, Five brought one hand back to your breasts. He held the weight of them in his palm as he squeezed and rubbed you and made small, short sounds of enjoyment into your mouth as he did so.
His smile was on the darker side of playful as he caught you by the shoulders and brought you down on his bed. There was no demand in how he positioned himself next to you. His hair a chaos of brown from you messing with it, he reached out, the tips of his fingers brushing your cheek. “I'll be sorry for treating you the way I have been until the day I die.”
“You are forgiven,” you whispered as you pressed your face into his left palm. You pulled at his sleeves, pulling the warmth of his body over your chilled skin.
Five hissed between his teeth when you took your adoring kisses sideways, to his jaw, then his throat. When the tip of your tongue came out, tasting him, his hands tightened on your arms, and a soft sound of surprise crept out of his throat.
His fiery gaze looked almost apologetic when he pulled back. You gently touched his face and Five closed his eyes as though he couldn't bear to look at you while you explored his lips with your thumb. “Your affection is more than I would have ever asked for,” he breathed, before kissing the tip of your finger.
Opening his eyes, there was that reflection of sadness, something that ran so deeply and painfully in him that it only made you more determined to change that.
As your hands moved down the sides of his vest, his drifted to your thighs, rubbing slowly.
“I’m wearing way too many clothes,” he cutely laughed when you tried to get your hands under his shirt but were hardly able to move them once you did due to the tight fit of his vest.
“Yes, you are,” you giggled. “We need to do something about that.”
In a burst of light, Five vanished and reappeared just as fast, his naked body flawlessly pale as he pushed his groin against yours, his hard cock glistening as it bobbed against your lower belly.
“How’d you do that!” you gasped.
He smirked. “If I explain it, then I have zero surprises left.”
Reaching down, taking himself in hand, this time when Five slipped inside you, the feel of him slowly filling you was enough to make your eyes water.
Grabbing for his shoulders, you hooked your ankles around his waist, your body simultaneously clenching around him as it tried to resist his entry.
Five stopped, his face full of worry.
“Keep going,” you urged, digging your feet into his lower back.
Pulling himself out, undulating his swollen tip at your entrance a few times, Five slipped his cock back in just as slowly, both of your eyes crushing closed the sensation of it felt so good. Doing it again, he accidentally slipped out all the way. Fumbling between you, grasping at his swaying cock, he lowered himself over you even more, letting out a guttural curse of pleasure as he entered you again.
Pushing his hands under your butt, he hoisted you up, rocking his hips against yours in earnest as he tried to kiss you, his lips grazing yours with each downward thrust.
Head getting pushed back further and further into his pillows, you began to match his urgent movements. Working together, his sharp thrusts ignited something inside both of you. Your fingernails digging into his shoulders, you started to see stars, everything inside you suddenly exploding when you felt the heat of his release.
Crying out this name, every exhalation streaming from your lips matched the throbbing of your orgasm that was not letting up as Five kept thrusting, the sound of him fucking you as sinful as it was wet.
When Five did pull out, your back arched on the bed, the emptiness of losing him and the sight of his rigid cock still ready to go shocking you as much as the darkness in his eyes.
Without a word, he flipped you on your stomach.
As Five came down over you from behind, his spent cock easily slid back in, and just as fast, he started to rut, rough and needful, punishing your quivering walls all over again.
You squirmed, the feeling of it too much, but Five pressed his hand against your upper back, pressing you against his bed, forcing you to arch into him as he kept at it, fucking you at an unrelenting pace.
A minute in, he wasn’t slowing, his thrusts sliding into you so deeply the force of it kept causing his headboard to bang into the wall
“Five!” you cried as you pulled at his bedding.
“I’m not stopping until I fill this fluttering cunt!” he growled.
Not even close to being over your first shivered round of aftershocks, he did just that, emptying himself in erratic spurts and uncoordinated thrusts.
Prying his hands from your hips, Five rolled you on your back. Blanketing you with his body, he started placing delicate touches of his lips on your cheeks, his long eyelashes brushing along your skin with the softness of an angel, while his fingers worked between your legs, gathering his leaking come so he could carefully and repeatedly push it back inside you until you surrendered to him all over again.
Helplessly quivering, you buried your fingers in his sweat-dampened hair as he took his kisses to your neck, then added a few final nibbles to your ear. Five seemed incapable of moving further than that, the tenderness of how he was nuzzling you, echoed in the throbbing fullness you felt.
When he finally sat back, it was only to reposition himself alongside you. He rested his cheek against the top of your head, squeezing his arms around you tightly.
Feeling his warmth mingle with yours as you snuggled into him, you heard him yawn.
“Tired of me already? Was that a sign you want me to go?” you teased.
“This business we just did is hardly what I would call tiresome, and you aren’t going anywhere. I am not done with you yet,” he joked, but his hold not letting up meant he wasn’t actually kidding.
As you touched his hair, searching through it with your fingers. His limbs relaxed the longer you kept at it, his hand placed over your belly circling slower and slower. Your feet wrapped around his shins locking him to you even more surely, and with it, his breathing slowed along with his hand coming to a stop.
“Are you falling asleep, Five?” you softly asked.
His chest moved up and down against your side along with his quiet laugh. “Sleep is for the blameless, and I am not that. If you can wait a few minutes, I’m happy to give you round two with a fresh lesson on what you're dealing with since it seems you forgot already?”
“I think you already made your point that you are the cutest fiend to ever walk the Earth,” you laughed. “It sounds fun, but I doubt either of us has enough steam for that lesson right now no matter what you claim.”
“Honey, I am like a jackrabbit,” Five chuckled. “For all you know, I can bring you to unmanageable heights of ecstasy with this next one.”
You gave a playful tug of his hair.
Five nudged the top of your head with his face. It wasn't a kiss. But it didn't need to be. The way he was holding you, you knew that everything had changed.
“We can go back to taking care of business in the morning,” you assured.
“There's always the morning,” he agreed, slurring slightly.
Soon, listening to this heartbeat step into a cadence of sleep, feeling the warmth of Five’s body next to yours, you drifted off in peace along with him, and you did the same thing together every night after that.
Chapter 9: Tiresome Work
“Are you free to chat for a few minutes?” you asked, gently clicking the large door closed behind you as you entered Five’s office.
“I’m always free for you,” he said, looking up from his desk.
Coming around next to him, you propped your bottom up on his mess of papers.
“How’s your day?” you asked, your eyes traveling from his soft pink lips, down to his neck, then to the relaxed motion of him spreading his legs as he leaned back in his chair.
“It’s getting better now that you’re here,” he replied, followed by a mischievous grin.
Doing your best to remember why you’d come in, the reason for it in your hand, you extended him your notebook. “Would you be willing to look this over? I think the numbers look good, but I’d appreciate a second brain on this one just in case I missed something.”
“I’ll look at it, but I doubt you missed anything. You never do,” he replied, his eyes smoldering. He patted his knee. “Why don’t you sit here and let me entertain you. You need a break.”
Your cheeks instantly flushed, and the more Five gave you that predatory look the worse it got.
You didn’t move so he raised a brow.
“Come here,” he hotly demanded.
Hopping up, Five quickly snatched your waist, pulling you to him faster than you were already coming.
“We are supposed to be working,” you scolded, as he trapped you between his legs with his hand tickling up your back.
“We covered this already. This is us working,” he said, following your every movement with wolfish fixation.
Trying to rattle him as much as he was flustering you, you broke away, half-heartedly attempting to organize the millions of items on his desk.
“That sign you are playing with says I’m the boss! Now get over here!” he angrily insisted, but not without laughing.
Giving you the sexiest smile you’d seen on him yet, one that was all dimple and shiny white teeth, Five patted his knee again.
Feeling silly, you perched your bottom on his knee.
With hardly anything between you and his finely woven pants, the bones of Five's knee purposefully pressed into you.
“Now then, isn’t that better?” he taunted as he leaned forward, his lips grazing the side of your neck.
“Five Hargreeves, you are a bad man.”
“And you like it,” he coolly replied with his hand coming up to fondle your breasts.
The room felt like it was on fire already, but everything got warmer when his fingers parted, slicing across the peaks in your blouse, softly catching on your nipples before his warm palms slid over them again.
Feeling like a drunken sailor, you swayed in his lap. Trying to steady yourself, you extended the tip of your shoe to the floor, but Five nudged his knee into you with a little lift of his foot, his hands locking you in your seat to prevent your escape.
Plucking at you until your nipples were visible through the delicate fabric covering them, your small whines and the wetness spreading between your legs were met with his cocky grunt of approval.
“Five, there are dozens of people outside that door,” you said, shutting your eyes tight when he gave you a pinch.
“So,” he deadpanned.
The second you tried to get up again, he let out a growl, simultaneously biting into the crest of your shoulder, the feel of it all making your head roll back on your shoulders as your next broken moan filled his entire office.
“Never mind. Please don’t stop,” you breathed, as his magical lips pressed against the edge of your jaw.
“I wasn’t going to,” he shushed. “This is the most important thing I have left to do here, I say fuck these numbers you brought me. You’re the one who should’ve always been checking my math. My sole purpose now that I have you to do the brain work is fucking you.”
“Five,” you moaned as you shifted your weight on his thigh, desperate to relieve the pressure.
“Mmmm?” he replied.
“You are driving me crazy.”
“I know, but I need to get this baby inside you and seal this deal,” he insisted, kissing you with even more vigor, his mouth sucking at your skin as he moved his hand down between your legs, massaging your swollen folds through your underwear.
“Yes. I understand that but…but we maybe already did seal that deal,” you stuttered. “And if that really is what you are trying to do right now again anyway, it can’t be in here.”
With another quick nip at your throat, Five said, “This is my office, and I intend to use it in any way I please. I earned it, damn it!”
“You did earn it,” you said with a breathy laugh, shifting your weight again, trying to turn towards him and put your feet on the floor. “But we should at least lock the door.”
“Stay put!” he barked, but it had no bite to it because he was trying to paint a silky line with his tongue along the shell of your ear.
Biting your lower lip next to distract you, flipping his hand out from under your skirt, Five pinched your firm nubs of flesh again, not with pain, but with shocking effect. You gasped as a burning jolt of electricity detonated between your thighs.
“Please hurry,” you weakly begged him, the pressure of his knee under you both good and bad at that point.
His fingers gripped under your jaw, moving your face towards his. “There’s no hurry, honey. Daddy is the boss here and everyone knows about us anyway,” he whispered, velvety soft.
You opened your mouth to what, at this point, and with that daddy comment, you didn’t even know anymore, but Five was quick to cover your mouth, his index finger pushing your lips open.
“Suck it like you want to suck me,” he directed as his other hand moved up, slowly opening the buttons on your shirt, stopping when he had enough of them undone to get his hand inside.
“Just like that,” he softly hummed as he watched you caressing the length of his finger with your lips and tongue. Breathing in, his nose brushed along your hairline. “Such a good girl.”
Pulling his finger from your mouth, he reached under your skirt, his wet finger trailing up your thigh, nudging under your panties.
“God, I needed this,” Five adorable whimpered, his thumb pressing down on your pubic bone as his finger slipped inside you, slowly pumping in and out.
“Oh, oh-fuu-ah-kkkkk! Faster!” you helplessly yelped as you ground down your weight against his leg, your hips frantically jutting into his hand.
His finger pumped faster. “Come on, baby. Come for me,” he encouraged,
Your ability to formulate thoughts going all to hell, nothing but gibberish spilled from your mouth. “Mmmm-ahhh-fff, yyyy-e-sssss.”
Adjusting himself, spreading his legs wider to accommodate the tent his erection was making in his pants, he said, “More?”
“Yes,” you moaned.
The rhythm of his hand changed, and a second finger added to his thrusting while his thumb kept fondling your clit with enough pressure to make your head spin.
Gripping the front of Five’s vest in a lame attempt to ground yourself, he began placing a path of kisses along the side of your neck. “My heart beats for you,” he said, his voice deep with longing that matched the look in his worshipful eyes.
Your legs spread embarrassingly wide, the backs of your heels knocking against his shin, you rocked on his knee, your building climax pulsing to a roaring scream. Five kept going at it, not letting up the pace or intensity of his finger repeatedly hooking inside you, drawing out moan after moan.
Your eyes droopy, he grinned at you like this was the best thing he’d ever done while at work, which was ridiculous considering his desk was littered with all the plans he was putting in place to fend off any future apocalyptic events that could threaten the existence of humanity.
Blowing your mind and making you come so hard you couldn’t see straight was hardly important compared to all that, but he didn't seem to think so. He was so beautiful, you could have sat there all day, dreamy admiring the shape of his eyes and their soft lines of happiness, but when he withdrew his fingers, it shot you back into reality.
At the sound of Diego walking by, talking loudly, and Lila smart talking back at him, you instantly started to get up.
Smirking, Five got up too while sucking his newly freed digits in his mouth, licking them clean.
Weak with orgasmic afterglow, you pressed your face against his collar, contentedly breathing in his warmth. “Let’s go somewhere where I can take care of you,” you said, nuzzling him.
“I need you to take care of me right here, love. I have a good feeling about this spot,” he whispered.
You were crushed speechless all over again by the way Five called you love, but it wouldn’t have mattered anyway if you found a way to argue because his mouth molded to yours, opening it with the force of his kiss, so he could use his tongue to tangle and tease you into submission.
When Five did relinquish ownership of your mouth, it was only to spin you around, so your backside was facing him again. From there, he released you and started fumbling with his clothing, the sound of his zipper coming down just before the metal of his belt clanked to the floor.
You reached for the desk in anticipation, thinking he was going to lay you out, chest down over his mess of papers so he could fuck you from behind, but instead, his hand latched onto your waist as he pulled you back with him, towards his desk chair.
“Show me you love me the way I love you,” Five breathed, the back of his legs bumping his seat as his cock prodded between the legs.
You hesitated, not sure what you were supposed to do, so Five plopped himself down in his chair, clarifying when he said, “Sit down.”
The pointed toe of his dress shoe rubbed against the inside of your ankle, further making his intent known. His hands brushed along your thighs, lifting your skirt, then he pushed your panties down.
Reaching back, you put your hands on his armrests. Lowering your body, he stopped you short, hovering over him.
The heat of his length ran along, gathering the wetness he’d already drawn from you. His swollen tip moving back and forth had you holding your breath and the tightening coil of desire inside you clenching with renewed need.
After several more passes, Five lined himself up. “This time, I’m going to fuck you so deep, there’s no way my boys won’t be able to stick their landing.”
“Oh, my God, Five,” you laughed.
“Please, honey, sit down!” he frantically laughed back.
Smiling like a fool, you began to lower yourself over him again, but almost right away as he entered you, it felt like you were being impaled by the girth of his rock-hard shaft, and you had to stop. “Fi-fff -vvvv- ” you sputtered. “It’s too much like this I—”
“I know, just go slow, I’ve got you,” he said, sure to keep his hands under your bottom to support some of your weight.
Giving you all the time you needed, Five shifted back, his chair creaking from his weight. His hiss of satisfaction when your body took in more of his cock was met by your teeth stabbing into your bottom lip.
“Fuuuuuck…” Five groaned, echoing your silent sentiment exactly.
Forcing yourself to take it, adjusting your body down on him until you were sitting all the way down in his lap like he requested, you were shaking like a leaf.
His lips pressed under your ear. “I am hopelessly in love with you,” he whispered.
“Oh, Five,” your voice trembled as he buried his face against your neck.
“Fuck me,” he ordered in a maddingly cocky tone.
Knowing full well he was smiling, you started rocking your hips. Almost right away, to your delight, Five placed his hands over yours on his arm rests, his knuckles going white.
His breaths started to rush out of his mouth, moist against your throat. When you started bringing your body up and down, sliding his cock in and out, deep then shallow, he fell back, breathing a quiet chorus of profanities.
“You like that?” you cheekily asked, bouncing on his cock in a way that felt so good for you, you never wanted the feeling to end.
“Fuck yes I like it!” he groaned. “Why the fuck did I wait until today to make you sit on my dick like this. We should have been doing it this way, every day, three times a day!”
Working your bottom up and down, taking him in and out, faster and faster, his head flopped back against his leather chair.
Smiling, just thinking about the fucked-out face Five was probably making, you said, “Five, I loved you even before I met you. There’s no one else in this world I love as much as you.”
“I can think of someone,” he groaned, “but I’m okay with that since that little charmer is going to be the son I am going to give you right now.” Kissing your shoulder, he grabbed you by the curve of your waist, pressing his fingers to your stomach, increasing the pressure inside you.
Jolted with each thrust of his hips meeting your ass, his hand at your waist lifted you up and down, allowing his cock to slide into you as deep as it would go.
“You’re mine now!” he growled.
His teeth sank into the crest of your shoulder blade.
“Oh, fuuuuuckkkk,” you cried, as he hummed his reverberated delight, his teeth marking you as if you weren’t already his.
Before the pain of his love bite became too much Five let go, his breaths coming fast as his sharp grunts. “Are you getting close? Because I can go at any time,” he huffed, ruthlessly railing you, his heels digging down on the floor as he thrust his hips up and down.
“Uh-huh,” you replied, unable to say more as you struggled to stay over him and not melt into a puddle of mushy bones in his lap.
Your body shuddered, your breaths not enough. Your body reactively clamped down on his cock, repeatedly spasming. The second Five felt it, he filled you, his own body jerking and twitching as he erratically slowed to a stop and sank back in his seat.
His grip loosened as he let you down in his lap. His cock throbbing inside you, the final pulses of his release and the burning of your thighs overwhelming both your senses.
You were on fire, and the sweat on his brow proved that he’d just pushed himself to the point of glorious ruin too.
“I wasn’t expecting that when I came in here,” you quietly laughed, laying against him, your chest heaving with his as you reached back to run your fingers through his hair.
Just then, the door burst open. You jolted upright, but Five’s arm instantly flexed, refusing to let you off his lap.
“Hey, Five?” Luther said, stepping in the door, still looking behind him as he took the package one of the mail room staffers handed him as they whisked by. “Oh! Hey, guys,” he corrected, looking up, seeing you and nothing but the upper half of your bodies.
Coming closer, thinking Five was just showering you with affection like he almost always was, Luther said, “Sloane wanted me to invite you to—"
He stopped mid-sentence, his eyes locked on the sight of his brother’s lap as it came into full view.
Your skirt was hiding the worst of it, but with Five’s pants tangled around his ankles, there was no way Luther couldn’t tell that he was imposing himself on you from behind.
“What is going on!?” he yelled, covering his face with the cardboard box that had Five’s name on it. “Guys! We are at work! I mean… Wow this is not appropriate!”
“What is going on is, I’m working,” Five calmly informed him. “It’s a well-known fact that when doors are shut, it’s for a reason, so this one is on you. And sure. We would love to join you and Sloane for dinner. Thank you.”
Five’s chin came to rest on your shoulder as he cooly stared at his brother.
When Luther just stood there, too shocked to move, Five gave him a much clearer dismissal.
“Get the fuck out, jackass,” he said as sternly as he could make it sound, which wasn’t even remotely threatening because he was laughing as he said it.
Luther huffed a few more words of confusion, then, fumbling around blindly, he eventually made his way back to the door.
When you were alone again, Five grinned. “Would you like to go for another ride, my love?”
Chapter 10: Ad Infinitum
Less than a month later, Five moved in, taking center stage from Herb.
“It’s been said several times tonight by others,” he began as the lights shone down on him, all people who worked for him anxiously waiting to hear what he had to say, “but I am going to say it again because you deserve it from me.”
Five glanced your way, looking so handsome.
Sitting in the row behind him filled with other board members, your ankles were crossed, and your heads were neatly placed in your lap. You were doing your best impression of a dignified businesswoman who hadn’t just spent her afternoon with your back on his desk and your heels resting on his shoulders, but the second his eyes met yours, your flush gave you away.
Having lit you on fire with nothing but a happy quirk of his lip, Five turned back to the crowd. “I personally want to thank all of you for your hard work prior to me coming on as your Director and especially after. Without all of you, this place never would have happened,” he explained, drawing a small applause of agreement from the crowd. “The last few months have been hard, but I know that what we have accomplished is worth it and it will make a world of difference.”
Five laughed softly, almost too quiet to hear, but it was very him, and with it, it was impossible not to fall for his charms.
“I mean that quite literally,” he chuckled. “The changes we have made will end up saving the world, probably many times over.”
It was no secret what you all did at The Commission and averting the end of days was sort of your thing, so that got quite a few laughs from his audience and Five nodded knowingly before moving on.
“Whether you wanted to or not,” he continued, “by now, everyone here knows me in some way or another, and I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t make knowing me easy. I am an asshole and always have been, so sorry about that.”
Five made the motion of physically shrugging that off and that got more laughter filling the large auditorium.
His warm smile grew a little more.
“I’m an asshole, and I am working on it, just ask the very patient woman I hired to keep me in-line. I’m a work in progress, and probably always will be,” he joked.
He pressed the palms of both his hands on the slanted surface of the podium, a prominent line forming between his dark eyebrows.
“Long ago, I made a horrible mistake, and I continued to make many more mistakes after that, and I paid for it, and my family paid too, over and over. The last thing I wanted to happen were the things that did.”
Five paused, his pained gaze directing downward as a loose lock of his hair fell, concealing the sadness in his eyes.
“But,” he said, forcing his voice to sound brighter again as he looked up, “It’s time to move on and look to our future.”
His lips pulled to the side.
“As we all know, I’m wrong a lot.” He sniggered at himself. “I couldn’t fix all of this on my own and I never should have tried.”
He turned and winked at you and your face instantly lit up and your heart skipped a beat.
“Everyone here is a family,” he said, still looking at you. “We are a team, and we will never stop fighting as one, but The Temps Aeternalis was never meant to be an organization that only preserved life,” he insisted, looking back towards the lights. “We are here to live it to its fullest with the people we love. That’s what makes us human. That’s the real reason we are here. To support that idea.”
Five looked over to his right at the rest of the board members, his eyes landing on Lila and Diego.
Seeing that Five was ready for them, Lila pushed herself up, giving him one of her overdone eye rolls and a hand at her mouth, intentionally drawing attention to her big, bored yawn as she approached. Behind them, Diego stood up too and began nervously shuffling his papers with his back turned to the audience.
At Five’s side, Lila smiled. “That was one hell of a speech. Sure took long enough, you old sap,” she complained, but Five merely smiled back at her equally affectionately, not taking the bait to verbally spar with her.
Knowing that it would drive her nuts, he swept in, pulling Lila in for a big hug, smooshing her to his chest. Lila’s arm quickly found its way around his back, holding him just as tight.
“I still think that you are a little piss-pot, you know that, right?” she whispered, while trying to hide that she was getting choked up by rubbing her runny nose all over on the arm of his suit jacket.
“I know how much you love me, and stop wiping your boogers on me,” Five said, scowling at her but it was so fake even the people in the back row knew it.
He pulled away, but not before giving her his pocket square. Then he leaned into the mic moving along to an epic finish.
“I am truly honored that you all entrusted me to make this organization into something in the end that we can all be proud to be a part of, and going forward I look forward to working with you all in a much less hands-on capacity.”
As murmurs from those who didn’t see this coming filled the room, his brother stepped up behind him and Five dropped a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it reassuringly.
Diego looked nervous but Five knew he was ready for this. Like so many things they were taught to think by Reginald that were wrong, Diego was never a second to anyone.
He was a leader and always had been, and his well-timed words of advice when it came to seeing things clearly with you would always mean the world Five.
When the votes came in, he was not at all surprised to see that Diego came in at the top to replace him. Diego was a perfect choice to shake things up around there and Five looked forward to stepping back in from time to time to watch his brother in action.
Hearing Diego take a long breath while he enthusiastically shook himself like he was about to spring into a scuffle, fists swinging like a boxer in the ring, Five’s proud, and somewhat exasperated smile got even bigger.
He looked back out over the podium.
“I am officially stepping down, and so is our Co-chair. Thanks to her, I’m going to be a daddy, and I can’t live another day with taking a little time away to enjoy that miracle with her,” he declared, giving everyone the good news.
The entire crowd stood and started giving their departing Director and you a standing ovation filled with excited whistles.
“It’s about time for that vacation,” Klaus yelled through his cupped hands with Viktor next to him, much less boisterous but equally thrilled in his enthusiastic clapping.
Motioning for the room to quiet but getting little back other than more clapping and shouts of encouragement, Five proudly said, “It is my honor to give you, Diego Hargreeves, our new Director, and his second in command, or first, however you want to look at it, your Co-Chair, Lila Hargreeves.”
Stepping aside, with a wave of his hand, motioning for Diego to take the mic, the echo of clapping didn’t stop and neither did the calls of well wishes for both the amazing man walking away, and the one trying and failing to get them to calm down.
Coming back to his empty seat next to yours, Five took your waiting hand into his, holding it tight as he whispered, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” you mouthed back, smiling so hard it hurt.
As you stood together, cheering for Diego, it finally sunk in for Five.
This was it. The reason for it all.
Finally, he could start living life as he wished, and he couldn’t wait to do it with you by his side and his new baby boy in his arms.

———————————————————————
Finally.
Five finally got his retirement. He moved to the countryside, the beautiful land surrounded by plants, farms and fresh air. He of course didn't move too far away to be close to his family but far enough from the city. Far away from the life that has caused more harm than it ever did good.
His car pulled up on the dirt road and up the driveway. He turned off the car and grabbed his car keys and shoved them into his pocket and got out of the car and took a good look around breathing deeply in the fresh air. He closed the car door and went up to the house door and unlocked it. It was beautiful and comfortable and just…him.
Over a course of a few weeks he enjoyed unpacking and settling his things into the house that he carried from the academy into place. He had to go to furniture stores to get items and it was an odd new adjustment being able to buy his own furniture that he liked. It overwhelmed it at one point and he couldn't even get through the door before he turned around and went back into the car and left to go home.
After a day he got to the furniture store and gave himself a pep talk before going into the store. He had to or he might break down. Once he got in he found it wasn't as scary as he thought. His house now was full of the items he liked and the decor he wanted. He wont show it but he was very proud of himself. He rewarded himself by going to a nice cafe in the nearest town and getting a chocolate croissant.
After he had his house finished and furnished it the way he wanted he busied himself with things outside. Watering plants he bought from a nearby garden center or starting up a vegetable garden behind the house. He found that he did not have the greenest thumb out there. In the apocalypse the ground was dry as hell and all the water he got or found mattered and not meant to be wasted.
He was really trying to grow vegetables which he did a lot of reading up on. He got okay with it but it was only a little bit where he would find a good cucumber or good tomato.
Soon though loneliness began to creep up. Don't get him wrong, he loved his home. He loved that he could walk out onto the porch and find fresh air and beautiful clear skies but he didn’t talk to many people out there. He got himself caught up in his own business and things to be done that he didn't think to make friends.
One morning he woke up and he felt a shift in the air and this time it wasnt a sinking feeling of impending doom. It was the feeling of something new was bound to happen. He tried not to get his hopes up. He sat up and looked at the clock to find that it was 11:25 am. His schedule was out of whack. Too many late nights leading to too late of waking.
He went out of his room and into the kitchen immediately going to the coffee machine. He waited and listened to the coffee machine dripping coffee into the cup. He had gotten one of those fancy coffee machines for that decent cup of coffee he has long desired for. He looked around at the same four walls he remembered well now. The same floor and ceiling and same window placement. The silence that came with it was buzzing in his ears next to the same sound of the coffee machine. He sighed and closed his eyes, his head falling back against the wall. That feeling of loneliness close to pulling him under.
Suddenly from outside on the front porch landed a white wild dove on the railing. It made its call snapping five out of his lonely daze and made him look to the open window where the dove was. Just then on the dirt path outside a beautiful woman on a bike peddled by. Her dress skirt gently flowing as she peddled by. He was caught off guard for a minute cause he hasn't seen anyone come down that path except for occasional cars. The dove flew off the porch and towards her and landed on the ground making her gasp and suddenly stop her bike making her fly over the handlebars into the dirt.
This put five into alarm. A protectiveness he didn’t understand came over him and he was out the door and down the porch and making his way to her “Miss are you alright?”
[Your POV]
You had gotten up and ready for the day. You had watered your plants and feed your chickens. You threw on a dress and was out the door and on your bike. You had headed down to a path that went into a clearing in the forest where you frequented on a occasion to get giant edible puffball mushrooms. Your basket on the front of the bike had two giant puffball mushroom all wrapped in red and white picnic cloth. You were on a happy high doing something you liked to do.
You had been alone in your cottage for a couple years. You busied yourself too much to actually ever face your loneliness. You made yourself busy enough so you didn't have to think about it. So you could fall asleep easily.
You yourself moved out of the city too. You had a number of reasons as to why you moved out of the city. You've been living in a shitty one bed one bath living off of a convenience store wage. Your boyfriend, Marcus, at the time that was your highschool sweetheart had been unemployed and couldn’t hold a job if it depended on his life. The final straw with Marcus was when you came home from work and found him in bed with who you thought was your best friend for life.
Once you questioned him after kicking your ex-best friend out if you found he has not only cheated with her in you guys own bed but with others including your own sister, trisha. You kicked him out of your apartment. You tried blind dating for a while. Some girls, some guys some theys but none ever turned serious. You were behind on rent and your boss kept riding your ass to do a better job.
The final straw was the day after a particularly bad date and your boss called you into his office and said he can raise your pay if you on the occasion give him a little “Stress relief” he liked to call it. You immediately quit the job on the spot. You were not about to stay in a toxic work environment and on top of that deal with a creepy boss who makes the environment toxic. There was no way in hell.
You got home setting your purse on the table a little too hard for your liking. You didn't have much to eat in the fridge other than some boxed pre cooked pasta from the store. You got that started up. You saw your mail box keys on the counter next to the microwave . You realized you haven't checked your mail in a long time. God the mailman must hate you.
You took your keys and just like the day decided it was gonna get worse it was pouring rain. And when you say pouring you meant that in the lightest way possible. It was thundering and the tree’s were shaking. You quickly got to the mailbox and opened it up and no surprise was there a heaping pile of mail in the box. You quickly went to the staircase. The winds picking up even more, almost knocking you on your ass. you held onto the railing and made it down the hall, the wind whipping as you protected your mail. As you walk by a door a neighbor came out, a nice old lady peeked her head out almost in a panic
“What are you doing out here girl?!” she called out to almost inaudible over the wind
you looked at her holding your mail against your chest “I had to get my mail! What's going on?!”
the old lady called over the wind again “It's a tornado baby! They just called it over the news!”
well no wonder you didn't know. you don't listen to the news. you looked out and in the far off distance you saw it swirling.
The old lady waved her hand trying to usher you inside “Come on baby come on!”
you hurried to her apartment where she led you to the bathroom where you and her got to her closet. The wind howled and yelled. You could hear that the front door to her apartment was blown open. The old lady soon said they were in the clear cause she was the only one with a phone. You stepped out of the closet thanking the old lady over and over. Until you went home seeing the damage outside hell even a car was flipped over.
You got to your apartment and you went to your kitchen in a daze and ate your now cooked pasta. you got ready for bed and once you sat down on your bed you broke down crying. Today has been a shitty fucking day you needed to cry it out. You cried yourself to sleep. When you woke up you headed to the kitchen and made coffee. You watched as the coffee dripped into the pot and you looked at your mail and picked it up going through it until you got a letter from..your grandma? you haven't heard from her for almost a while
You tore that open and read the letter. Your grandma died and she passed you on the cottage she lived in along with her money.
So that's how you got here. Your grandma died and passed you on to her home and money. You mourned and uprooted your life to live there. You got your income by growing vegetables, fruits and herbs from the garden and selling half to the market in town.
Now here you are. You fell over your bike and your puffballs on the ground, your bike on its side and you with a couple cuts. You did not feel alright to say the least. “Yeah, i got a few cuts but i think i'm alright”
You saw him approach. He helped you up and looked at your scraped up palms “That dove got in the way, scared me good”
he nodded as he looked down at your scraped up bloody knees “Yeah he did. Jesus christ that doesn't look good”
you looked down to your own knee’s seeing that he was right. They did not look good. “Yeah no they didn't.”
He offered to help patch you up which you were gonna protest but he insisted. He didn't give off the vibe as someone who wanted to kill you. You needed some sort of interaction anyway so you agreed.
He took you inside and to his bathroom to get your knees and palms all fixed up. He sprayed antibacterial on the cuts and bandaged them up. You were grateful and thanked him
It was silent for a minute as yall moved to his kitchen where he prepared coffee for you. The light dripping noise could be heard along with deafening silence. It didn't bother you too much since you’ve gotten used to it after being alone for so many years. Five finally broke the silence.
“So where’d you come from? I’ve never seen you before.” he said as he got some creamer out, holding it up silently asking if you wanted creamer.
You nodded and spoke as he added creamer “I live down the road near the forested area”
he looked to you confused as he set the coffee cup down in front of you and sat across from you “You live down there? But I've driven a bunch of times and I've never seen a house by the wooded area.”
you smiled “When you come up on the fork in the road do you go past the bridge or have you been taking the other way?”
His eyes widened and he chuckled “I'm assuming you live past the bridge?”
you sipped your coffee “Yes i live past the bridge”
you and him laugh for a second till you both calm into a silence that this time wasn't so awkward. It was oddly comfortable for two people that just met.
Eventually you and him went back outside to pick up your bike and mushrooms. He had picked up one of them and looking at them with intrigue
“Jesus what the hell are these things?” he said turning the giant puffball in his hands
you turned to him as you picked up your bike off the ground “Its giant puffball mushrooms. They're edible if you know what to look for.”
He nodded and set them in your basket. You got onto your bike balancing yourself so as to not fall “Thank you for patching me up. I really appreciate it.”
He nodded and smiled softly, those dimples softly showing on his cheeks that gave him this boyish charm “Yeah i couldn't just leave you there a crumple of limbs. The least I could do was fix you up.”
You nodded and looked down the dirt path where your home is and back to him “How come I've never seen you around?”
He sighed “I just moved in a few weeks ago. I've been busy setting up my house and garden. I only had a few items to my name at the time”
You nodded. You could sorta relate. A lot of your items were taken by Marcus, your ex, when you kicked him out that he thought he was entitled to. You didn't have a lot of money with minimum wage so you didn't buy your items back. At the time you sometimes wonder why you didn't call the police to get your items back. You guess you just wanted to cut him from your life entirely.
Five looked you over. You were very pretty. Your floral dress hugged you just right but the skirt was flowy so it gently lapped in the wind when you rode your bike or on a breezy day. The dress was a little ruined by dirt stains when you fell off your bike but surely it would come out easily. He thought back to how alone he is. How cut off he was. Sure he liked his retirement but he has been alone for 45 years and that was enough for him. He liked his privacy but he needed people too. Before he could even think he blurted out “Maybe we can talk some other time, hang out or something you know?”
He felt stupid just as he said it. He felt embarrassed and desperate.
You looked at him and thought for a moment. You thought about how alone you were in your own cottage. It was lovely to live in it and go about your hobbies and daily tasks but you were alone. You immediately pushed the thought away. You didn't wanna think about it. “I guess you can come around if you want” you tried to sound indifferent at the thought of him coming around but something in you almost begged for him to come around.
He felt a sort of tug at him telling him despite the slight indifference in your tone that you wanted him around. He didnt wanna intrude but you did say he could come around “yeah…yeah…”
There was an awkward silence after a while until you got onto your bike properly “well ill see you around, five.”
“Yeah yeah you too” he watched you pedal away down the dirt path. A small kick up of dirt and dust trailing behind you. His eyes wouldn't allow him to look away until she was physically not able to be seen. His heart did a soft pitter patter in his chest. He couldn't understand this pull he had to you but it was undeniable. He made his way back up onto his porch and inside his home. He went and sat down at his table across from where you used to sit. He sighed and sipped his minimal but now cold coffee. He looked over and saw in your spot where you sat was a silver necklace that had a locket on it. He picked it up and examined it. He certainly did not own a necklace so it must be yours. Now he had an excuse to go to your place.
For a few days he procrastinated. His nerves getting the best of him. He knew you probably missed it. He eventually gathered his nerves and went into his car and drove down the dirt road. He was gonna give up at some point until he remembered to go past the bridge. He carefully passed the rickety bridge and went down the road until he came upon the cottage on the edge of the forest. It was very beautiful. It had a nice fence around it with a gate and stepping stones that led to the door. Vines growing up the walls and rose bushes along the edge of the fence. There was a line for drying cloth and items. On the side of the house was a garden box and on the other was a chicken coop. Some of the chickens were out doing what chickens do. His eyes went soft. It was nice and felt comfy.
He parked the car outside the cottage and got out, locket in hand. He was pulled from his thoughts when he saw you coming out from behind the house holding a feisty chicken and carrying it back to the chicken coop. He could hear you scolding the chicken.
“Damn it ginger! I’ve told you multiple times you cant be going out of the yard like that. This isn't like chicken run. I'm not going to make you into pot pies!” you put her back down in the general area of the coop and sighed and petted her “what am i gonna do with you, girl?”
He chuckled softly at the sight and he looked at the locket in hand and he finally approached gently opening the gate and stopping next to you. He cleared his throat causing you to look up at him. He looked a little awkward, his free hand scratching the back of it. “Hey”
“Hey” you stood up looking at him “I didn't think you’d actually come around”
He chuckled “Yeah. i…i had to.” he held up the locket “You left this at my place” and handed it to you
your eyes widened and you gasped “oh my god i thought i lost it forever! Where was it?” and she took it from him looking at the locket
“It was at the table when you left. I completely forgot to bring it to you” he knew he shouldn’t have lied and fessed up that he was scared and nervous as all hell.
You looked at him “thank you, it's very important to me.”
“If you don't mind me asking why’s it important to you?”
You looked up at him away from the locket “It was my grandma. She wore it all the time. It used to have a picture of her and grandpa in it but when she died she gave it to me.” you looked back down at the locket. “She didnt like a lot of the family but she loved me a lot. A lot of our family was not exactly great people and a lot of them wanted the cottage because it is worth a lot. She didn't want it to be sold and she knew none of them were gonna ever listen so she passed it to me. I'm glad she did. I loved this place just like she did” you were silent for a minute you felt stupid cause how desperate were you for someone to be around and to confide in that you told your business to a complete stranger “i'm sorry i started rambling i-” you looked up at him and where shocked to find that he was staring at you adoringly and in wonder
He was so enamored with you at this point. Your eyes gave a sort of twinkle when you talked about your life and it made his heart pound. When you noticed the look you blushed softly, a little taken off guard by his look of adoration. “Wh-whats the look for?”
He shook his head, snapping himself out of it “nothing! I just think that you're…interesting.” That was the very least. The word he wanted to use was incredible. You were incredible to him and that was rare cause he has seen some incredible things in his time on this earth but you…you were something else new. Something new he wanted to experience all the time.
You swallowed hard. This feeling that you haven't experienced for a couple years was messing with you and you didn't want to let it go but you didnt wanna put yourself in that position either or give that idea. You steered the conversation in a completely different direction “Hey do you wanna come see my garden box? You mentioned back at your place that you were having some gardening issues. Maybe I can give you some tips?”
He nodded that he wanted that very much. He wanted to spend time with you some more. He was confused by you steering the conversation away but he wasn't gonna push it “yeah actually that would be greatly appreciated. If my garden could talk i think id get depression from the insults it would throw at me”
You laughed a little and led him to the garden boxes. Once there he saw your garden full of fruits and vegetables of all kinds. Bell peppers of all colors and big tomatoes are just about ready to be plucked from their plant. Raspberry bushes are beautifully red and blueberries that you can smell right from the plant and so much more.
“Wow you have an amazing garden. Are you a natural at gardening or did you also have to do some trial and error?” he said whilst crouching down looking at your plants
“It took a lot of work, let me tell you but it was all worth it in the end” you smiled at him as he looked at your garden in both wonder but also seeming to analyze it trying to see what he had to do to make himself better. What made your garden tick?
You chuckled “do you want me to tell you how to make yours just as good?”
He looked at you “god please my garden is begging from here”
You smiled and led him to your shed in the back of your cottage. You opened it up and ushered him inside
“Your not gonna kill me and bury me in your garden as plant food right?” he joked
You laughed “what?! No!” you headed to a corner where a bag was “speaking of plant food this brand of fertilizer is really good for making your plants grow. It's also cheap.”
He nodded and looked at you as you explained and talked to him about what was best for gardens and plants. You looked so in your element it was beautiful. His eyes never left you just staring. If he didnt believe in soulmates he sure as hell might now cause god he didnt wanna let you go even though you guys just met. It wouldn't be realistic if he said he was in love.
You were very aware of his eyes on you and it made you nervous. It made you sweat a little. Your heart patterning in your chest at a beat that you didn't want too. It wasn't helping that he looked so handsome. His style of clothing bordering between this odd mix of a young man in his 20’s and a old man who has lived a long life. It was odd but suit him so well. It was a style all him.
After you guys talked about gardens you and him went inside. It was hot and you and he needed an ice cold drink.
“Sit down anywhere i'll get you something to drink. What do you want? Water? lemonade? juice? i have a little whiskey my grandma kept for grandpa before he passed but considering your driving i really dont think thats a good idea” you looked over at him
he thought for a minute and before he could think he blurted out “I can stay the night” he felt stupid immediately once again
your eyes widened. You were a little shocked but everything in your body wants him to stay but your heart and mind battle on a constant. “Yeah…yeah. That sounds great”
he felt relief flood him. You got two glasses with ice and put some whiskey in the glass and brought them over and handed him a cup. He took a sip and his brow raised “Oh that's pretty good. Your grandpa had good taste”
you smiled and didn't sip the whiskey “Yeah it was his favorite brand. He drank a glass occasionally. Me personally i don't like whiskey”
he nodded “How come if you don't mind me asking?”
you smiled and looked at him away from the glass “I don’t exactly like drinking things that feel like gasoline in my throat”
He laughed at that. You and him talked for what felt like hours. You had only sipped the whiskey so as to not have your throat burn but as you got more and more into your system you got more tipsy. You and him ended up in the kitchen raiding your poor pantry for snacks.
After some time you guys were going to sleep. You chuckled. You both had a bit to drink.  a bit meaning a lot. Whatever grandpa drank was STRONG. You tried to push him to the guest bedroom laughing “Five you gotta sleep there!”
he shook his head “No no to hot!” he hiccuped and latched onto you “Ill…ill sleep in your room. I'm sure it's cooler” he said his O’s all drawn out and his best cool voice.
You and him ended up in your bedroom in the bed. you whined “It's too damn hot!” you went and pulled off your dress and went to your closet you looked at five “No peeking!!!”
he hiccuped and turned around “i'm not! I'm not!”
You ended up in shorts and a tank and crawling into bed. He pulled off his shirt and was laying next to you. He looked at you as you guys laid down. Even in his drunken mind there was this sense of peace being laid there with you. His eyes couldnt and wouldnt dare to leave you. Even in your drunkenness you were so pretty.
Little did he know next to him the same thoughts were running through her freely drunken mind. Her heart softly pounding in her chest slowly syncing to his own was the only thing she heard in her ears. His hair falling onto the pillow with grace and his soft but intense green eyes that were like piles of lush shrubbery.
you and him were pulled to each other like a magnet, your drunken minds letting how you feel be open and up in the air. You both cuddled into each other despite having just complained of feeling hot. It felt better to feel hot than to be apart.
In the morning you and he woke with a pounding headache but both of you were sober now. You opened your eyes and looked over at him. You gasped and fell out the bed seeing him shirtless
he shot up in a panic “What?! what?!”
“What did we do last night?! you're shirtless!” you looked at him panicked. He looked at himself panicked and to you and he let out a sigh “Your clothed”
you looked at yourself and laid back on the floor letting out the biggest sigh of relief “Oh thank heavens!”
After the initial scare they got some coffee. I have a bad headache. She grabbed some ibuprofen and got glasses of water “Here. This is a must”
he looked over and he made a sound of relief “Oh god you must be a personal angel”
you blushed and chuckled a little at that. You and him took the ibuprofen and downed a glass of water. you and him relaxed the rest of the day. You insist he stays so that he can rest up.
After that you and him were almost inseparable. You and him kept eachother company and made each other's lonely world brighter. You taught him the ways of gardening and keeping chickens and soon his garden was as gorgeous as yours. The thought of keeping him away to protect your heart was out the window faster than you could blink. You guys spent time together whether it was going out or staying at home.
Today He came into your house. The door was unlocked. Nobody really visited you except for him so you didn't bother locking it. You looked over from the kitchen as you were sipping some lemonade you made
“Are you still on for today?” you sipped your lemonade and watched him approach the kitchen
“Yeah yeah you already ready?” he looked down at your pretty blue dress and back at you
you nodded “Mhm. We’re taking the bikes instead of the car”
he smiled and leaned against the wall “Ah ah ah not so fast, princess, you forget you only have one bike”
you smirked “Incorrect, genius.”
He looked at you confused as you set your cup down and excitedly led him outside to your shed where you opened it up to reveal a new bike. His eyes widened. You got it for him.
Later you and him were flying down the path to the small town nearby. You laughed as he really got into his new bike. He looked at you and watched as you laughed, your hair whipping in the wind and your dress flowing softly with it. He could never look away if he wanted to.
Later you and him are in the grocery store. You're both in the baking aisle. You and him planned to make cookies together, a fun activity the two of you decided to do on a whim. The problem was you guys forgot the recipe back at the cottage.
You and him stood in front of the different extracts eyeing them up to see which kind the cookies were again.
He finally piped up “I think its classic vanilla”
you furrowed your brows looking to him “No i'm pretty sure its maple”
he scoffed “Than you should get your eyes checked”
your head snapped to his “my eyes?! you couldn't hardly see the chicken feed!”
“that was different!” he proclaimed
“different? different how!?” you put your hands on your hips looking at him
“You hid them! You hid them in your stupid shed! he huffed
You little- It was right in front of your face!” you all but yelled
you and him throughout the store though it may seem like fighting but it was actually bickering and it was all playful. You and him had fun like this. You bickered and argued. You laughed and had fun together.
Later when you guys got home you and him were baking the cookies together. You ended up in a flour fight after he got flour all over your shirt.
“Damn it, five holds still!!” you laughed and dodged a pile of flour being hurled at you
“what? no! I'm not gonna stand there and let you cover me in flour!” he sputtered when he caught a facefull of flour. He counteracted with another handful
You dodged looking to where the pile landed which was all over your stove. You turned to him “Ha! you mi-“ wrong-o. He caught you in the face with flour
He was laughing. You laughed and got up to him and tried to pour flour down his shirt.
“No wait! agh!” he laughed and tried to keep away. He fell to the flour covered kitchen floor. He grabbed you trying to pull you down with him “If i go down you're going down!”
you laughed and tried to keep standing “No you evil bastard! no!!!” you ended up on the floor with him laughing and playfully wrestling until he rolled you over and had you on your back his hands pinning yours beside your head as he straddled you
“Ha!”
you laughed and tried to struggle to try and pin him but it was no use. You huffed and looked up at him. It took you a few minutes to realize the position you both were in but when you realized what was going on your face grew hot and red. He seemed to notice what was going on and soon his face followed in pursuit. you both began to lean in close almost like you were pulled by a magnet telling you to close the distance. your mouth began to feel dry and your heart was running too fast for your liking. Five's heart was screaming at him to close the distance, take your lips with his. Your lips a hair away about to touch.
It was interrupted by a certain smell. No it wasn't yours or his breath. It smelt like…burning? you looked at him with knitted brows “Do you smell that?”
he lifted his head and sniffed at the air “Yeah what the hell is that actually”
your eyes widen and look over the stove. You and him had put butter in a sauce pan to brown for the cookies. Flour got into the stove and so the stove was up in flames. “OUR KITCHEN!”
he looked up “Oh shit!” he got up off of you. He was with you frantically searching for something to smother the fire. He tried to ignore his heart that stuttered when you said our.
“Baking soda! where's my baking soda!”
he scrambled around “Isn't it usually in the cupboard?!”
you opened it and grabbed it and dumped it on the flames making the flames go down and extinguish.
you and him were left in a silence just processing until he began to laugh. You looked at him. His face scrunched in laughter. Joy present across his face. She blushed at his beautiful face until she began to laugh with him.
Later in the day when it was dark he stepped out of the cottage. He turned to you “I had a lot of fun baking with you today, y/n”
you smiled and stepped out onto the porch with him “I did too, five. We should do it again sometime”
he smiled back “Yeah” he noticed a streak of flour still on your cheek. You and him had washed up after the flour fight. You must’ve caught a stray streak. his hand came to your cheek and held it, his thumb wiping away the flour “There we go, all better.”
you kept your gaze on him. You and his hearts raced as one. His face leaned closer to yours tilting lightly. “can…can i?”
you swallowed “yes” you softly said.
His breathing turned to soft pants. His body after all this time was screaming to take you but he had to be sure “Are…are you sure? i want you to be sure”
you quickly nodded, taking his other hand into yours “Please…”
with that his lips met yours. Your lips moving in time with his. When lips parted your tongue met each other in a gentle dance. Soft moans of delight, desire, wanting and pleasure filled the space of the porch.
you gently backed up onto the wood railing of the porch letting yourself be trapped in. His free hand going to the wood railing to keep you in. your arms traveled around his neck as you kissed him back. It slowly got more heated and the kissing became more desperate. His hands went to your waist pulling you closer to him. He backed up back to the door of your cottage and reluctantly pulled one hand away and opened it up. His hands flew to go back to your waist.
Once inside he was quickly bringing you to the bedroom where he laid you down his kisses going to your neck which had you moaning. Your hands went into his hair tangling in the beautiful chocolate locks. one of his hands traveled from your waist to your leg gently hoisting it up around his own hips encouraging you to wrap them around him which you happily obliged in pulling him closer.
Throughout the night his hands traced your body commiting you to memory. His lips touched every piece of skin he could have. His words were honeyed and full of praise and I love you’s. You eagerly returned your words whispering your devotion and love to him. Your own hands traced his body going under his shirt to feel him. Your own lips connected with his neck returning hickies he placed upon you.
Panting and soft moaning was the soundtrack of the night.
In the morning the sun poked in through the curtains. Your eyes opened softly and you looked over to five to find that he was also up. He smiled and rolled over to look at you “Goodmorning, baby”
you smiled and looked up at him “Goodmorning, handsome.” he leaned down and kissed you sweetly which you happily returned.
You and him went to the kitchen to get coffee and make breakfast. As you made coffee he came up from behind and wrapped his arms around your waist and buried his face in your neck
you smiled closing your eyes leaning back into him enjoying his comfort as he peppered chaste kisses on your neck.
For a long time you guys' relationship went steady. It was going well. Nights and days full of love, trust, care, comfort and companionship. Until one day one event will shake the very foundation of your relationship.
Five were out at the store getting an ingredient you guys forgot to get for the meal that was being prepped tonight. Once he got the item he needed he headed to the checkout but stopped when he saw the flower display case. He smiled and headed over. He picked up a bouquet arrangement that had beautiful orange, red and purple flowers in them. They smelled sweet and fresh and he knew he had to get them for you.
He checked out and headed home. The entire time there was this gut feeling that kept arising like something was wrong. He tried to chalk it up to nerves but it got worse. He picked up speed in the legal limit he could go.
Once he got there he noticed a car out front he didnt recognize. He also noticed the front door cracked open. Suddenly in his mind the bouquet he got you looked like funeral flowers. He felt like he wanted to puke. He quickly parked the car and got out hearing sounds of a struggle inside. He ran into the house to find you trying to keep away from none other than your ex marcus.
When you left Marcus after he cheated he started to spiral because he couldn't support himself and he had no one else to take care of him but you for the longest time did. He regretted his choice and became obsessed with you. He found your place of residence and came to see you.
Five were stunned for a minute. One side of your shirt was ripped revealing one side of your bra. His vision went red when he saw Marcus grab you. He was by your side in seconds yanking Marcus off you and slamming him into a wall causing a crack in the plaster. “DONT YOU EVER FUCKING TOUCH HER AGAIN!!!”
Marcus was scared shitless he wasn’t expecting that you had a new lover. When Marcus tried to struggle to get to you five did not hesitate to beat the shit out of him just till he could no longer move until the cops arrived.
Once the cops arrived and did some questioning and all that other stuff they arrested marcus.
He held you close whispering that you're safe and it's gonna be okay as you cried into his shoulder.
Later that night you were on the front porch just looking out at the night time as the fireflies lit up in different colors. Five came out  gently closing the door so as to not scare you. He came up next to you leaning on the railing.
“How are you feeling baby?”
you didn't answer for a minute until a single tear fell down your cheek “I'm so sorry five. I shouldn't have opened the door i-“
he cut you off. He gently took your hand turning you to him holding your face between both his hands now “Don't you apologize for what he did. You didnt know he was there. You didn't know that he would break in and try to harm you. You didn't know he would trash the place. My love don't you apologize”
tears filled your eyes once more as you looked into his sincere ones. You held him close and buried your face into his chest. He wrapped you up in his embrace and led you inside.
After a few days you were still jumpy after what happened but you got better. You were just lucky that Marcus never got to actually do anything to you. Five was there the whole time and soon you were back to your normal self.
His beautiful girl was smiling as wide as she always did, your laugh was making his heart burn brighter and you even simply being there next to him made his love grow fonder.
>Fast forward a couple years<
You and him rode your bikes to a clearing in the forest. Your bike baskets full of Giant puffball mushrooms to take home. On both your fingers sat beautiful engagement rings. You and him laughed and played around within the clearing until you decided to go back home as the sunset created an orange sky up above. You rode out of the clearing down the dirt path through the forest.
In the tree above you as you both passed by was the Dove. It made its coo and took flight to your house, ready to watch over a great love.

“Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?”
~~~
You never thought there’d be the day where you and Five would live together.
You’ve always pictured getting your own place, maybe even a cat, and living that beloved domestic life, but you didn't think it would actually happen.
It seemed like every single time you thought you were safe, another problem quickly made itself known.
But it’s been a few months since the universe was reset, so you finally started to let your guard down.
There seemed to be no apocalypse or assassins following the two of you around in your new lives.
That weight had left your shoulders, yet you could tell it still weighed Five down.
You were both living normal lives now, blending in with the world around you.
Each of the Hargreeves siblings had gone down their own path in life for the second time, and it was time for Five to have the comfortable, normal life you’d always hoped he would have.
Five worked with the CIA, while you worked at a café a couple blocks away from your apartment.
He initially wanted you to stay home, knowing he could provide more than enough for the both of you, but he knew you wanted to live your own life too.
Now that you had all the time in the world, he watched as you gradually grew into your best self.
You explored hobbies, gaining exciting interests you never knew you had, which he admired so dearly.
All he ever wanted was to see you so happy.
But the constant fear of allowing himself to be happy and settled only for that to be ripped away from him never left his mind.
After the universe was reset and the two of you lost your powers, Five grew extremely anxious.
Sure, the two of you had learned combative skills and you were both excellent at defending yourselves, but what if?
That question burned through his mind.
What if the Handler came back?
What if the apocalypse came back?
What if someone hurt you?
What if he couldn’t protect you?
“Ouch-”
Five looked down at his hand, turning slightly pink after he burned it against his mug.
“You okay?” you asked from your seat at the island in your kitchen, looking up from your book.
You had noticed he was particularly stressed today, but you could tell he didn’t feel like talking about it.
He had checked the lock on the door at least four times now. Even the balcony doors were locked with the curtains drawn, blocking the moonlight from entering the mostly dark apartment.
You knew it was hard for him to adjust to a normal life. He had been so focused on surviving for so many years he forgot what it was like to live.
You had tried to help him, and sometimes it worked. He would dance with you while your Frank Sinatra records played in your cozy living room. He would try out new recipes with you.
You loved it most when you could just enjoy each other's company, without a care in the world how much time had passed, because it was never a waste.
The two of you would spend hours together, wrapped up in each other arms or simply leaning on each other. Sometimes you would talk, sometimes you would just enjoy the intimate silence.
You didn’t like the silence now though, as you watched his furrowed brows and shaking hands.
You knew it was hard for him to bring up how he felt. His family always shoved his feelings so far down their list of problems he never felt like they would be important to you.
As much as you reassured him he could always talk to you about anything, he still didn’t want to be a burden.
“I’m fine,” he picked up his mug with one hand and walked around the island over to you. He held your head and pressed a kiss to your hair.
“I’m heading to bed,” he said quietly, “Love you.”
You smiled, “Love you, I’ll be there in a minute.”
As he walked into your shared bedroom, you couldn’t help but worry about the man you cared so much about, and you wish you knew how to help him.
~~~
It was happening again.
He was running.
There was so much smoke.
So many flames.
So many bodies.
He frantically looked around, until his eyes landed on the one body he couldn’t handle seeing in such a state.
He was too late. If only he ran faster, if only he couldn’t stopped this, if only he could’ve saved you.
His knees hit the gravel.
He screamed but he couldn’t hear himself.
He hear your voice calling for him
 Your mouth was undefinable, but he could tell it wasn’t moving.
The smoke filled his lungs. He couldn’t breathe
“Five!”
~~~
He sat straight up. The cold air hit his sweat covered chest as the sheets flew forward.
He was still screaming as he tried to pry his eyes open with his hands, scratching the vision out of his head.
You were still saying his name and you reached for his eyes, grabbing them tightly and bringing them away from his face.
His eyes were bloodshot and he was shaking intensely, but once his sight focused on you he caged you in with his arms and started bawling.
You had never witnessed one of his nightmares get so bad.
Of course, he’d had several ever since you’d moved in together but he’s never been this disturbed by one.
You could feel his tears in your hair and you could slightly make out his muffled chanting.
“I can’t, I can’t, I can’t.”
Your heart was breaking just seeing him like this, you couldn’t bear him so distressed.
You tried to calm him down as he held you, with soothing whispers and coos to calm his breathing and heart rate.
Once he seemed less frantic, you peeled his arms off you and sat in front of him, holding his hands.
“What happened?” You asked him softly, brushing his hair off his forehead.
He looked as though we were going to cry all over again but he looked down and said, “I lost you.”
“It wasn’t real, Five,” you reassured him, “I’m right here, I’m okay.”
You held his face in your palms, looking into his green eyes.
It pained you to see him so worried.
He held his hand over yours, “I just want you to be safe.”
“I am,” you smiled sadly at him.
“We don’t have to worry about the apocalypse anymore,” you reassured him, “There’s no more commission. There’s nothing coming after us, we’re safe.”
He signed, taking your hands off his cheeks and holding them in his lap, tracing the lines along your palms.
“I want more than anything for you to feel safe, Five. I don’t want to see you so scared to live a normal life, one that we’ve been fighting for so long for.”
A tear ran down his cheek, which you wiped away with your thumb.
“I’m sorry,” he said, “I just- I want you to be happy. I don’t mean to bother-”
“Please don’t,” you cut him off.
You grabbed the comforter and pulled it over the two of you, tucking you both in.
As you faced him, you said, “You don’t need to apologize.”
Pulling him in, you felt his face bury into your chest as your fingers combed through his dark hair. His breathing slow, his body warm against you, his heart rate slowing.
“As long as I get to live this life with you, Five, I’m happy.”
your wildest dream, his nightmare
Tumblr media
Five Hargreeves x Reader Synopsis: Walking into Max’s diner as a respite after you and Five are seemingly stuck you don’t think you could’ve imagined a better outcome surrounded by various versions of your lover. At the same time, for him it’s nothing more than a bad dream he hopes will end soon. Word count: 760 Tags: Fluff, Jealous Five, Crackfic Note: This small fic because it's funny to imagine jealous Five being jealous of himself
“Come on”
Five grabbed your hand as he led you out of the tube to, probably, another timeline. It must have been a few hours the two of you had been stuck in this place going station to station still with no idea how to get back.
You turned left but instead of being greeted with the usual blankness for Five to scribble about in his notebook you instead were somewhat blinded by the light of a sign.
‘Max’s delicatessen.’ You made eye contact with Five to the side of you before tilting your head with a nod towards the building. He simply followed your lead before quickly grabbing the door to let you in first.
You turned back to smile in thanks when you noticed his shocked expression, head quickly turned back towards the diner at a call of your name to see the whole diner was made up of your lover. Looking back to Five, your Five, in bewilderment a shocked smile on your face.
The look on your face seemed to take him out of his stupor clearing his throat before leading you into the diner- trying to find an empty table for you to sit at. He was quickly stopped by another Five, one sat on his own, and gestured for the two of you to sit opposite him. Five begrudgingly agreed as he realised the restaurant was at max capacity. No spare table in sight.
You quickly shuffled onto the brown bench when the other Five spoke
“It’s rare to see one of you around here” he smiled happy to see you
“Maybe this is not my typical scene” you rebutted a cheeky smile on your face that the Five opposite you seemed to enjoy, dimple now showing from smiling so wide
“Maybe” he breathed out in a laugh
Before you could continue to speak with this version of Five another one appeared in front of you, this one not wearing a suit or vest. He quickly placed down a peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich in front of your Five. He then turned to you placing a very familiar drink in front of you
“Your favourite” he declared when you looked confused
“How did you know?” You smiled at him eyebrows furrowing as his cheeks went red
“We all know your favourites” he shrugged as if it was the most normal thing in the world
“Um- Thanks” you nodded your head in gratitude
“Anything for the missus” he mumbled before leaving to go back to the kitchen
You took a sip of your drink when your Five spoke irritated “What was that about?” a hand possessively stroking at your thigh
“A lot of us having seen our version of her in a long time” the other Five spoke wistfully
“How sad” you stated before turning around in your seat you waved and greeted the Fives around you who all became quite delighted at your attention all greeting you with a similar bravado.
“Okay.” Five declared “I think we are done here” he quickly at up pulling you up with him by grabbing hold of your hand once more
“But we just got here, can’t we stay a little longer and rest?” you asked not wanting to leave. I mean why would you, surrounded by multiple versions of the man who loved you, say no to having his attention on you?
“No, we need to get back to my family in our timeline, come on. We are wasting time.” he rebutted practically pulling you away from the diner seemingly getting even more annoyed as the other Fives shouted goodbyes towards you.
“I didn’t realise I was so annoying, that was a nightmare” Five claimed as you sat on a train hopefully taking you back home
“Sure you weren’t jealous?” you quipped staring at him mischievously
“No” he grumbled arms crossing against his chest
“Then you won’t mind if I-” you spoke moving towards the doors to go back to the diner, quickly shutting up when Five grabbed your hands pulling you back onto the seat beside him. You simply smiled at his look of false ire towards you as the train started to move. Resting your head on his shoulder as he let a smile grace his features giving a kiss to the top of your head.
You hope that at some point you will get to return to the diner- a place you have just coined akin to heaven on earth.
May I request a five x reader where they are living domestically and just being happy and lovey dovey especially experiencing everything they did together while being in the apocalypse, the time commission, stoping the other apocalypses etc (five x Lila doesn’t exist five x Lila doesn’t exist five x Lilia doesn’t-)
a/n: this piece is basically a big fuck you to s4 so enjoy five being happy and domestic with reader and not his own brother’s wife. also five and reader are mentally older adults but physically in their twenties
warnings: language, fluff, mentions of pregnancy
summary: now that the timeline has been fixed and the world is no longer in danger, five can enjoy a peaceful life with you
Tumblr media
The sunlight that bleeds through the curtains is almost blinding as Five begins to stir himself awake. Stretching out his limbs until he hears a satisfying pop, he lets out a sigh and moves to reach out for someone that isn’t there. Your spot in bed is still warm which means you haven’t been gone for long, but Five still rises with a sense of urgency when greeted with your absence. Call it muscle memory from dealing with multiple kidnapping ploys against you or an old habit that just won’t die off after having to remain vigilant when protecting you from the enemy, but the poor boy’s heart always skips a beat when you go missing.
He finds you in the kitchen brewing a fresh pot of coffee, your back to him as you hum along to the radio that plays on the counter and search for Five’s favorite cup in the cabinet. He has to pause and take a breath to remind himself that you’re not in danger, your life of protecting timelines and ending apocalypses is over, and the fresh start you’ve made for yourselves isn’t in any jeopardy. You’re real, you’re alive, and you’re his.
“Morning,” Five softly calls with a careful smile as he rests a hand on the small of your back and presses a tender kiss to your lips.
“Good morning,” you great cheerfully before handing him his cup of coffee. “I didn’t hear you get up. Did I wake you?”
“Not at all,” he assures you before taking a hearty gulp of the hot liquid. After years of being together you know how to make Five’s coffee just the way he likes it and could probably do so in your sleep if asked. Your thoughtfulness is just one of the many traits of yours that have him wrapped around your finger always.
“We need to go grocery shopping,” you note dutifully as you peek your head into the fridge in search of breakfast. Frowning, you announce, “We’re out of eggs, so I guess it’s frozen waffles for breakfast.”
“Why don’t we go out for breakfast today?” Five suggests with an innocent shrug.
“Really? But you hate breakfast places. They can never make your coffee right.”
“I also hate seeing you eat frozen waffles three days in a row,” he reminds you with a wry chuckle. Maneuvering you out of the way, Five closes the fridge shut and gives you a gentle nudge in the direction of your shared bedroom. “Go on, get dressed. You can wear that new dress you bought the other day.”
“You’re right!” You exclaim with an excited gasp and rush off to your room before Five can change his mind. Not that he would, of course. Five would do anything to see you happy after all the shit he’s put you through in your time together. Sometimes he still wonders why you ever agreed to marry him, perhaps a slip of sanity or lack of care for your own wellbeing, but he wasn’t one to complain. He liked living the quiet life with you, and he wouldn’t change it for the world.
~~~
The night air is cool against your bare shoulders as you sit comfortably upon the porch swing and listen to the cicadas sing their evening song. The sun has long since set, but the string of lights that hang above you are enough to allow you to see the pages of your color by numbers book. Beside you, Five sits with a book in one hand while the other rests atop of your legs strewn across his lap. He enjoys sitting in the silence of your company as you remain glued together despite partaking in your own hobbies separately.
“We’ve been married for thirty years,” you state simply, breaking the silence but never once breaking your focus from your coloring book.
“Sure have,” is Five’s thoughtful reply. Setting his book aside, your husband gives your calf a gentle squeeze and turns to look at your concentrated features.
“Not including your siblings, it’s always been just us. Together in the apocalypse, partners under the Commission, husband and wife.”
“Is that a bad thing?” He asks, not quite sure what point you’re trying to make. Are you rethinking the marriage? Are you finally starting to have regrets about marrying him? He watches with bated breath as you set your materials to the side and finally meet his anxious gaze.
“I want to start a family of our own,” you finally confess, nervously fidgeting with your wedding ring as you await his response with hopeful eyes. “I don’t want it to be just us anymore.”
Sighing, Five leans his head back and shuts his eyes as he processes your request. He can’t say he’s surprised by your question; he’s noticed the way you eye babies in public, how you linger just a little too long to admire the window display of the infant clothing store at the mall, how you’ll hold the twins for hours in your arms and refuse to give them back until Diego has to physically pry them from your grasp. It’s only natural for you to feel this way, but that’s not the problem. The problem is Five isn’t exactly sure how he feels about becoming a father.
“I don’t know,” he admits carefully, taking great caution when choosing his next words so as to not upset you. “Having a kid, becoming parents… it changes everything.”
“I know we couldn’t before because there was the Commission and then the multiple apocalypses, and that’s why I never asked. But Five,” you urge gently, shifting to sit yourself up on your knees so you can reach over and take both of his hands in your own, “all of that is done with. We fixed the timeline, and all that end of the world nonsense is over with for good. No one is coming after us anymore or trying to kill me to get to you. We can properly grow old now and have a simple life together, wasn’t that always the goal?”
The boy is silent as he mulls over your speech. You’re completely right; saving the world and resetting the timeline to its proper place in order to ensure you and his siblings could have the lives you deserved was always the end goal. But after spending his entire existence trying to complete that task, he finds it hard to adjust to his new life of normalcy. Perhaps he’s not exactly scared of becoming a parent, but scared of what a baby would mean in the grand scheme of things. It would be proof that his work is truly over now, that he can turn his survival mode off after having it set to fight for so many years, and that’s a big adjustment for someone like him.
But when he looks at your hopeful gaze and sees the way you anxiously worry your lip between your teeth, he realizes that he’ll do anything to give you the happy life you deserve. He brings one of your hands to his lips and holds it tight as he murmurs his answer into the skin of your palm.
“If you think we’re ready, then I’m in.”
“You mean it?” You gasp while doing your best to withhold your excitement. Your eyes are wide and full of hope as Five lets out a soft chuckle before giving you a reassuring kiss.
“We survived the end of the world several times, how scary could raising a baby really be?”
He isn’t given an answer to his hypothetical question as you fling yourself into his arms and assault his face with multiple kisses along his skin. It’s safe to say his answer has eased your anxieties, and the boy can only laugh as you express your gratitude.
“I’m so happy you agree!” You exclaim giddily, your hands coming to rest upon his chest to ground yourself as you then suggest to Five’s surprise, “Let’s start trying tonight!”
“What?”
~~~
“That has to be the tiniest Hargreeves I’ve ever seen,” Klaus gushes adoringly as he takes in the details of the ultrasound photo in front of him. “Look at the little peanut, isn’t it precious?”
“I can’t believe Five is actually going to be a dad,” Allison notes in astonishment as the three of you turn your gaze to see him arguing with Diego over the proper way to baby proof your home while Ben eggs them on and ruins Luther’s efforts at trying to keep the peace. You’re only two months along, but Five is anxious to ensure that everything is perfect for your child’s arrival.
“You know, you might just be the first 65 year-old woman to give birth,” Klaus points out cheekily. “You should be in a world records book or something.”
“Very funny,” you retort sarcastically before taking back the ultrasound photo to hang up on the fridge. You falter for a moment when your eyes remain stuck to photo and your brain works on overdrive to commit the image to memory as best as you can.
“Everything okay?” Viktor asks after noticing the sudden change in demeanor.
“I just can’t believe this is real,” you murmur quietly, blinking back tears that threaten to spill. “After everything we’ve been through and everything we’ve lost, I guess a part of me worries that one day I’ll wake up and this will all have been a dream.”
“I know how that feels,” Allison assures you with a comforting squeeze to your shoulder. “But I promise you this isn’t a dream, and whatever you need we’ll be there.”
“Because you’re family now,” Viktor adds on with a confident nod. “And we look out for family no matter what.”
“Even though at one point in our lives we’ve all thought about killing each other,” Klaus notes humorously before giving you a tight squeeze.
“Everything okay over here?” Five asks, appearing at your side and placing a comforting hand on your back as you all turn your gazes towards the fridge and admire the newest addition to the family.
“Everything is perfect.”
synopsis: After spending 7 years in a another timeline with Five, you’ve come back to be reunited with everyone in the present. Only to find out that the world’s on a fast track to ending again, but this time there’s no running away from the inevitable.
Tumblr media
“P-Please Five, don’t do this…!”
You cry out as your shaky hands cup his face, your forehead pressed against his as his solemn eyes stare deeply into yours. Both of you standing on a familiar platform, while Lila’s family and Claire watch with melancholy. You could see his eyes pooling with his tears at your desperation. You have no idea how much Five wanted to abandon everything, the world, his family and leave everything behind to jump back on the train with you. To a house in the middle of the woods, where you’d grow strawberries and to spend the rest of your lives together. Live the life he always imagined with you by side until he draws his final breath but he couldn’t.
It’s time to let go, I’m bent over backwards.
He knew if he did, everything would start over again-the end of the world is always going to be inevitable as long as he and his family lived. He tried over and over again and just when he thought he could finally live-when he finally stopped it, does the cruel reminder that it’ll never end, come back. He couldn’t do this to you again, you deserved to live a full life even though he won’t ever be a part of it. That is why, with a heavy heart does Five slowly shake his head at your plea. His heart sinks even further at the look on your face at his rejection. “I’m sorry (Y/N), I wish it didn’t have to be this way but there’s no other options left. I wish there was, I r-really do…” Five croaks out as he tries to wipe the tears that continuously fall from your eyes. As the trains signal its doors closing, Five knew his time was up.
If love ain’t enough to make it alright. Leave me dead to the world.
“I love you...”
With a final press of his lips to your forehead, Fives pushes you harshly into the train. Surprised, you fall backwards, only for Claire to try and catch you as you land on the floor of the train. Horror filled your eyes as the train doors closes on you, separating you and Five forever.
You quickly scramble to stand up, yelling and pounding on the door that separates you both. Five smiles sadly at you, as he places a hand on the glass then bringing it up to a wave as the train signals its departure. Your shouts get louder as the train starts to move, pounding harder as you call out your lover’s name. As the speed picks up, you see Five’s figure growing smaller and smaller until it completely disappears. Only then do you fall to your knees with a dreadful wail as your heart shatters into a million pieces.
Five's hand falls back down to his side lifelessly as the train disappears into darkness. The tears that welled up in his eyes, finally cascading down his cheeks. The Five who never showed any weakness, nonetheless cried - his walls now completely broken down. He had to remain strong in front of you or else he would have wavered in his decision. With a shaky breath, he turns around preparing to blink back to the mansion - back to his family who waited for him. He promises that if he was ever given another chance at life again that he'll find you again, and love you like he always wanted to. No matter how long it takes, he'll find you again even if you won’t remember him. When he meets you, will you fall in love with him again? It’s wishful thinking but he hopes that even if it’s a tiny bit, that you'd still remember him. With all of his heart he hopes that you do but until then.
"Take care, my love."
I can lend you a dream, till we meet again. I’m dead to the world.
Don't Stand So Close To Me
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Five was doing his best to resist you. You were too young for him. Too eager. But when he decided to try and scare you straight, he got a little more than he bargained for. That's when he realized maybe he wasn't as strong as he thought he was.
Five x Female Reader-Insert, 6,700 words, One-shot
Warnings: Smut, explicit sex, everyone is an adult
This was born from a request I received for Five with a young(ish) woman that won't leave him alone. I have modified a few things, but I hope it still works! ❤️
Five sighed and rolled his eyes when he saw you coming toward him. He had been balancing a bag of dry cleaning in one hand and cup of coffee in the other and was just about to chance blinking inside his apartment instead of using the door when he heard your greeting.
“Damn it,” he muttered to himself, wishing he had just risked spilling his beverage all over his newly pressed suits by disappearing inside. Now he was stuck.
“Here, let me help!” you chirped, jogging up to him.
“No thanks, I’ve got it,” Five argued, but as he did so the bag of clothes nearly slipped from his hand.
“Got it!” you exclaimed with a smile, snatching up the bag.
Five gave a weary smile and another sigh. “Thank you.”
“No problem!”
As Five fished around in his pocket for his key, he tried not to make eye contact with you. Actually, he tried not to have anything to do with you most of the time. You just hadn’t gotten the hint.
“What are you up to tonight?” you asked, and Five could hear the twinge of hopefulness in your voice.
“Oh, you know…the same as usual. Make some dinner, watch Unsolved Mysteries, and go to bed.” He opened the door and took the dry cleaning from you. “Typical old man stuff.”
You nodded as if you knew exactly what he was talking about. You did know, in a way. You knew all about Five’s history, his powers, and his actual age. It’s hard to keep that shit private when your entire life has been broadcast across the world for everyone to witness. Unfortunately, at least from Five’s point of view, you didn’t seem to care.
You bit at your fingernail and looked down at the ground. Five wasn’t about to invite you in, so he waited for an uncomfortable few seconds before speaking up again.
“Ok, well, thanks for your help. Have a good night.”
“Oh…ok,” you said sadly. “Good night, Five.”
As Five stepped inside his apartment and flicked on the light, he draped his bag of suits over a chair, taking a sip of his coffee. He shoved a hand in his pocket and looked around his small, quiet apartment. It wasn’t much; just a shitty one-bedroom with a miniscule kitchen. But that was all he needed. That and to be left alone.
Despite trying to keep a safe distance from you, you had yet to be deterred. Five knew you liked him; it was pretty obvious. Ever since he moved into the building, you hadn’t missed an opportunity to corner him at the mailboxes, or in the hallway. Being trapped in the elevator was the most awkward, so Five tried his best to avoid those encounters by blinking around as much as possible. You always seemed to catch him, though.
It's not that Five didn’t like you. You were sweet, and cute, and he would be lying if he said he wasn’t flattered that you were so into him. The problem was that you were 21 and he was in his late sixties. Old enough to be your grandfather; at least mentally. Physically, he was in your same age range, which he assumed made things very confusing for you. While you did know all about his older consciousness, Five figured you conveniently forgot most of the time. Like when you wore those tiny little running shorts with a sports bra and decided to do some warm up stretches directly in front of his door.
Five wasn’t fully immune to your little come-ons. He still had a pulse, after all. Not to mention the hormones and libido of a much younger man. Still…even after all that he had witnessed and done throughout his life, he had managed to hold onto a couple scraps of morality. And only sleeping with women who were over the age of 30 was a personal rule of his.
He wasn’t sure why he picked that age; it was still more than half of his. But he figured most people’s brains had fully matured by then and it made him feel like less of a sexual deviant. He hadn’t had a date or any hook ups in a while, though. Most nights he just came back to his place and did exactly what he told you he did. Old man stuff.
As he stood there, contemplating all of this, there was a knock at his door. Five rolled his eyes yet again and set his coffee down. When he opened the door, there you were, as he suspected. You looked up at him with nervous eyes that couldn’t quite hold his own while holding two large containers of food and a bottle of red wine.
“Hi, again. What can I do for you?”
“Hi, Five. So, it turns out I made too much food for dinner, so I wondered if you wanted some?” You held out the containers to him. “It’s spaghetti and a salad, and I had this bottle of wine that I thought would go well with it. It’s nothing fancy, but I know you’re alone, so you probably don’t have anyone to cook for you…” Your voice trailed off and you looked away.
Five ran a hand down the back of his neck and looked down the hallway. No one else was around and he was hungry. He reached out to take the food, but left you holding the wine.
“Thank you, that’s really nice of you.”
Your eyes lit up at his compliment and you smiled. “Oh, it’s no trouble at all. I cook all the time, so anytime you want me to make you something, just let me know. I’m pretty good at it.”
Five chuckled. “I have no doubt that you are. It looks great.” He was about to go back into his apartment, when he looked back at your disappointed face. Shit. If he didn’t invite this girl in, he was going to look like a real asshole. He was definitely going to regret this, though. “Would you like to come in and join me for dinner? Looks like you made plenty for both of us.”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to impose.”
Five smiled gently and shook his head. “No, you’re not. Come on in.”
After you stepped in, and Five busied himself making plates of food for the two of you, you set the wine on the kitchen table and looked around his place.
“Wow, I’m not sure what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it.”
Five looked up while he opened the wine. “Isn’t it just the same as your place?”
You nodded. “Yeah, it is. Which is why I’m surprised. I thought yours would be a little…”
“Old man-ish?” Five grinned as he handed you the glass of Pinot Noir.
“…sexier,” you answered with a sly grin, taking the glass from him.
Five’s eyebrows raised. “Sexier?”
You shrugged and took a sip. “I don’t know. I expected more black and leather. Like a real bachelor pad, you know?”
“Yeah, that’s not really me,” he said with a quiet chuckle. “I’m not exactly a swinging bachelor these days.”
You cocked your head to the side. “Oh, no? How come?”
Five saw he had backed himself into a corner and he didn’t really want to get into his love life with you, so he cleared his throat and gestured to the table. “Food’s ready.”
As you sat across from one another at Five’s small dining table, the initial awkwardness began to wear off as the wine started taking effect. You became a little bolder in your flirting, and Five was finding he didn’t mind as much as he usually did. By the time dinner was finished, and another bottle of red was opened, you had moved to the living room to continue your conversation. Five sat down on the couch as you plopped in the armchair across from him, tucking your leg up under you, making your shorts slide up your bare thigh. Five couldn’t help but notice, and you caught him in the act.
As you continued your small talk, Five watched as you fidgeted in your chair. Every adjustment of your body seemed to be just for him, and he found his mouth pooling with saliva that he tried very hard to subtly swallow back down. It was wrong, but he couldn’t help it. The smooth, bare skin of your legs, the curves of your breasts, the way your lips looked so damn delicious as you talked. He was in trouble.
“So,” he said, his voice cracking. “It’s getting late.”
You nodded with an upturn of your mouth before standing up and crossing to Five. As you loomed over him, he looked up, his gaze traveling the full length of your body. The wine was giving you more confidence that you normally would have. He looked so damn good, sitting there with his hair a little disheveled from running his hand through it all night, and you weren’t quite ready for the evening to end yet. You reached down, taking his wine glass to set it on the table with your own. When you climbed onto his lap, straddling his thighs, and draping your arms over his shoulders, he was shocked into silence.
Your warm groin settled over his lap with your tits pressed against his chest. Breathing harder, his hands automatically came to rest on your hips as he looked up at you. You smiled, your hair framing your face as you leaned in to kiss him.
Five closed his eyes, his grip on you tightening for a second as he kissed you in return. You moaned softly into his mouth, pressing yourself down when you felt him start to harden beneath you. That’s when he woke from his trance and pulled his head back.
“Stop.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Look…I like you, but we can’t do this.”
“Why not?”
“Well, there’s a lot of reasons, but namely I’m way too old for you. And you’re drunk.”
“I’m not drunk.”
Five rolled his eyes. “Ok, well, I am. And that doesn’t change the fact that I’m about three times older than you.”
“I don’t care.”
“I’m sorry. I don’t want to hurt your feelings, but this needs to stop before it goes any further.”
“You’re sure that’s what you want?” you asked, tilting your head to the side and giving just a little push into his crotch.
He shook his head slowly, exhaling a long breath. “No, but it’s what needs to happen. Understand?”
After you reluctantly left, Five cleaned up the kitchen, jerked off in the shower, and went to bed trying very hard not to think of you anymore. Over the next two weeks, he did everything he could think of not to run into you in the building again. He was afraid that not only would it be awkward, but that he would start feeling things he shouldn’t.
The truth was, you had gotten to him. Despite his best efforts, that little stunt you pulled by climbing into his lap had worked. Fuck, had it worked. Not a day went by when he wasn’t imagining what would have happened had he not cut it short. Those firm tits pressed against him and your soft lips against his…shit, he was going insane. He had to keep to his rule, though. You were just too young.
But you did not give up easily. You knew what you wanted and you were determined to make him see you as the adult you really were.
“Five!” you called with a little wave, as you caught him trying to enter his apartment one evening.
When Five saw you, he cursed under his breath. He really did not have the energy to deal with you. He had just gotten back from a job and he was not in the mood for your little antics.
“You can’t keep coming over here like this, I’ve told you that,” Five explained, turning his focus back to the key in the door.
“I just wanted to say hi,” you said with an innocence that he wasn’t buying.
“Yeah, I know what you’re doing,” he grumbled.
You paused. “I’m sorry about what happened before, Five. I understand why you might be hesitant, but you know…”
“What do I know?”
“I am an adult, like I said. You don’t have to keep treating me like I’m a kid.”
“You are a kid,” Five shot back.
You looked up at him with a tiny smirk. “From what I remember, it didn’t feel like you thought I was a kid the other night.”
Five’s jaw set, his teeth grinding together. He wasn’t going to stand there and get made fun of by some girl that was determined to get in his pants, even if he did have the beginnings of a boner when she sat on his lap.
“Just stay away from me, ok?” he snarled. “You don’t know anything about me.”
“Oh, please, Five…I think I can handle—”
Five turned abruptly, his face hard with dark brows pulled together. As he leaned in, his jaw set and body tense, you flinched, but did not break your eye contact.
“You think you can handle me, sweetheart? You have no idea what I’m capable of,” he hissed in your face.
Swallowing, but holding your ground, you nodded. “I can handle you, Five. I’m not scared of you. And if you’d just let me get to know you a little more –"
His laugh was laced with menace as he took another step toward you. You were left staring at one another, neither of you backing down. He was close enough that you could hear his harsh breathing through his nose and smell the faint traces of after-shave. His eyes searched over your face before turning back to his door.
“Get the fuck away from me. Please,” he said quietly.
“I know what I’m doing, I’m not sure why you think I’m so innocent.”
Five looked down and sighed. He was tired of constantly trying to maintain his morality. He was an old man in a young man’s body and he was so damn sick of taking the higher road. Most people thought he was an asshole, and they weren’t wrong. He had a high success rate of keeping the people he wanted out of his life out, and barely tolerating the ones he let in. He was a killer. A trauma-filled nightmare wrapped up in a pretty package. He was not normal, and it was time you knew that.
“Fuck it,” he said out loud to no one in particular. As his eyes locked on yours again, his normally emerald-colored ones became dark.
He continued to take another step toward you, and then another, until you were backed against the opposite wall of the quiet hallway. Overhead, the fluorescent lights hummed as a single fly battled for its life inside one of the fixtures.
“Alright…I will confess, I have been thinking a lot about you lately.”
“You have?”
Five nodded, closing in on you until he was inches from your body; close enough that you could see the faint line of stubble on his chin and hear his deep breathing.
“Specifically…what you would be willing to do for me.”
As his gaze traveled over your body, taking in the tight tank top and miniscule shorts you were wearing, you could almost feel the energy pulsing out of him in waves. It was terrifying and intoxicating, and it had you rooted to the spot.
“What do you want me to do for you?” you asked, looking up at him through your lashes, blinking slowly.
“Strip.”
You had been trying to keep up with him. Trying to beat him at his own game. But you sucked in a quiet, yet audible, gasp of air.
“What?”
“I want you naked for me. Now.”
He was still so close to you, his mouth mere inches away from yours, and yet he made no further movement to do anything else. He was trapping you there; playing with his prey for fun. And you weren’t sure if he was going to eat you or let you escape.
“Here?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
He nodded, his eyes never leaving your face. “That’s right, sweetheart. You think you know me? You think you want me? Then, prove it.”
“What if someone walks by?”
Five shrugged with a grin. He took a step back, allowing you enough room to leave, should you so choose. Again, he made no move to grab you, or touch you in any way. He shook his head, eyeing you pitifully.
“Don’t play games you can’t win. It won’t end well for you.”
When you had nothing to say to that, his demeanor changed again. Back to his normal, tired expression, his eyes and mouth drooped. He said nothing more, but just turned back toward his apartment, and opened the door. After he took a step inside, he heard you clear your throat. Turning around, he was faced with an unexpected sight.
With each slow, deliberate step you took in his direction, you started to strip your clothes away. First your top, lowering the straps over your shoulders and drawing it up over your head. Then your shorts, unbuttoning them before sliding them down your thighs and kicking them to the side. Five seemed frozen to the spot, unable to move and unable to speak. But his eyes followed you with an unmistakable hunger.
As you closed in on him, you were left in your bra and panties. With a small smirk, you reached behind you and undid the clasp of your bra. Slowly peeling it away from your body, you watched as Five’s gaze dropped to your breasts.
“Like I said…I’m not afraid of you,” you said, as you confidently jutted your chin out, along with your chest.
Five’s face flickered with shock, followed by what you could only imagine was lust, before it turned to anger. He grabbed your upper arm, squeezing it hard, before shaking you.
His teeth gritted and bared, he snarled in your face. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”
You did your best to pretend you were in full control of the situation. “What you told me to do.”
Five’s eyes roamed over your body for a split second, before they were back on your face. He was angrier than you had ever seen him before. And yet, you had a feeling the anger was just masking something else. Something he didn’t want you to see.
At that moment, the loud ding of the elevator doors rang out, signaling that you would soon not be alone. He looked down the hallway and then back at you. When you didn’t make a move, his jaw tensed even more. Stalking past you to snatch your clothes off the floor, he grabbed your arm again.
“God damn it, get inside,” he demanded, yanking you forcefully through the doorway of his apartment.
As you stumbled your way inside, he continued to grasp your upper arm. He slammed the door behind you and got in your face again.
“Are you stupid?” he growled.
You shook your head. “No.”
“Well, stop fucking acting like it. Jesus!” He let go of your arm, leaving you standing there in just your underwear, while he ran a hand through his hair. “You can’t just go around stripping naked in public places just because someone tells you to. What the fuck?”
You smiled and took a step toward him. “What’s the matter Five? Losing at your own game?”
Five’s breath had become louder and harsher. You could practically see the wheels turning inside his head. He wanted you; you were sure of it. The juxtaposition of desire and restraint was evident in every twitch of coiled muscle and nervous hover of his eyes on your breasts. He had been trying to scare you; make you flee in terror at his aggressive advances. But joke was on him, because you fucking loved it.
Another look of anger swept over his face as he laughed darkly. “Shit. You really do not know what you are getting yourself into here.”
You swallowed nervously. “I don’t care.”
“Well, you should. And you should leave.”
Five continued to bore into you with his intense stare. His dark eyes indicated menace, but his stiff body language gave off something else. Fear. But Five Hargreeves does not give into fear easily. When he feels it creeping in, he turns it into something else. Something mean and ruthless.
When you didn’t make a move to leave, he took a step forward. A half-smirk formed on his lips as he crossed his arms over his chest and tilted his head to the side.
“Alright then…you’ve been warned,” he said pleasantly, right before his voice turned ice cold. “Now lose those fucking panties before I rip them off myself.”
Slowly, and without breaking eye contact, you hooked your thumbs into the elastic waist of your lace panties and pulled them down over your hips, letting them drop to the floor at your feet. You stood perfectly still, allowing him to take you all in while your chest began to rise and fall more rapidly.
You thought you had him this time. How was he going to resist a fully nude woman right in front of his face? But instead of giving in, like you knew he wanted, he gave a small shake of his head. Still holding the clothes you had discarded in the hallway, he stepped forward until he was directly in front of you, smiling derisively. His face was so close to your bare skin, you could feel the warmth of his exhale along your leg as he bent to pick up the pair of underwear. When he walked casually past you in the direction of the living room, your jaw dropped as he opened the sliding glass doors that led to a small balcony, and hurled your clothes outside. You watched in disbelief as they floated briefly on the light breeze before disappearing out of sight; fluttering to the ground, six floors below.
He closed the doors, turning back to you with a satisfied, yet stony expression. He pointed at the door to the hall.
“Get out.”
You paused, your eyes nervously darting toward the door. “What?”
He flicked a piece of hair out of his eyes in indifference. “You said you didn’t care if anyone saw you. So, leave.”
When you continued to stand there, wide-eyed and confused, he snorted and shook his head. “That’s what I thought. I’m not the nice guy you think I am. And I’m certainly not one of your little fucking boyfriends you can manipulate to get your way.” His voice softened somewhat. “I can give you something to wear to go home in, but don’t ever come back here again. This is over, understand?”
After a few seconds of silence, you nodded your head slowly. “I understand.” With a sly smile, you turned, heading for the door, letting Five get a nice long look at your ass in the process. As you reached for the doorknob, you glanced over your shoulder, relishing in his bewilderment as you walked right out the door without a stitch of clothing on.
Out in the hallway, you tried not to panic. You hadn’t really thought out what was going to happen once you had committed to your little act of rebellion. Your apartment was on the other side of the floor, and you had to pass by many nosy neighbors’ places plus the elevators to get there. As you considered your options, your back was suddenly slammed into the wall, Five’s hands gripping your arms again after he appeared in a flash of blue.
“God damn it,” he seethed in your face.
Without another word, you were being ripped through one of his portals, reappearing inside his apartment again. You let out a small cry of surprise as you were flattened against the door, Five’s body pressed against yours.
He surveyed your face one more time, his eyebrows drawn together in torment. “Fuck, why did you do this to me?”
The next few minutes were a blur as Five released everything that he had been holding back in one ferocious attack. His mouth sucking and biting at your lips, his hands fisted tightly in your hair, and his hips jerking into you. Something feral and instinctual was propelling him, and you let him unleash all of it onto you.
With another tight hold on your wrist, you were dragged away from the door and whipped through a second portal, this time landing on his bed with a hard bounce. While you scrambled to sit up, Five had stripped off his shirt and was already unbuckling his belt, the clink of the metal drawing your attention to his hands as they unzipped his fly. Breathing hard through his nose, he looked at you, running a hand through his hair while pushing it off of his forehead.
With his cool green eyes locked on yours, he crooked a finger at you, beckoning you over. You worked your way off the bed, hesitating for just a moment, before closing the few feet so that you were standing directly in front of him.
He leaned down, a hand gently cradling the back of your neck, as he kissed you softly. You thought maybe you were going to see a new, tender side of him. Until he latched a hand onto your shoulder, gripping you hard while pushing you roughly down, forcing you to your knees. As he glared down at you, dark hair framing the sharp angles of his face, one corner of his mouth twitched up.
“You talk a big game, honey, so go ahead. Let’s see that mouth of yours in action.”
He was trying to intimidate you; to show you he was the boss. But you weren’t naïve and you weren’t dumb. There were subtle hints, like the way his breath hitched when he spoke to you, or the slight tremble in his hand as he guided your face up by your chin that gave his nerves away.
With your own small smile and a lick of your lips, you reached up to pull the black suit pants down, taking his boxers with them. Five let out a shaky exhale as his hard cock stood at attention in front of your face. With another coy glance up through soft lashes, you took him into your hand. He was bigger than you would have guessed, and you slowly stroked his thick shaft, pressing your thumb into the underside while following the vein from base to head. When you stretched out your tongue to give a kittenish lick across the tip, he hissed loudly, bringing his hand down to rest in your hair.
“Shit,” you heard him mutter under his breath as you started in.
He didn’t let you work up to it with teasing kisses or circles of your tongue around his dripping head. With one shove of his hand on the back of your head, his dick was down your throat. You let out a clipped groan that ended in a gurgling noise, before he was pulling you back and off again. With eyes wide and already gasping for air, your hair was tugged backward so that you were forced to look up at him.
An eyebrow raised, Five questioned you with a low voice. “Still think you can handle me?”
From your position on the floor, he towered above you like a god, watching as you worshiped at his feet. Your eyes traveled over his sculpted abs, his toned arms and shoulders that flexed with the effort of holding your head back. You took in the scars that dotted his abdomen and thighs; the line of soft hair that trailed from his navel to the main event. He was being rough, yes, but there was something in his eyes that gave him away. Like he wanted so badly to be something else, he just didn’t know how.
You nodded your head in an answer to his question, as his magnificent cock bobbed in front of your face, and you opened your mouth wide.
“Fuck,” he growled from deep in his chest.
Five was losing his mind, he was sure of it. All of his pent-up anger and frustration over his body/mind/age situation was coming to a head; and he was shoving that head directly and violently down your throat. He couldn’t stop it. He didn’t want to stop it. You felt so damn good, with your warm mouth wrapped around him and your tongue sliding over the taught skin of his shaft. As his hips jerked into your face, harder and faster, he watched as you gagged and choked on his dick; saliva building up at the corners of your mouth as you so dutifully let him fuck your face.
“Ah…ffff-uu-goddamnit…yes, fuck yes, don’t stop…ah SHIT!”
His head was thrown back in complete bliss as he unloaded copious amounts of cum directly into the back of your throat, the sheer volume making it pour out the corners of your mouth and dribble down your chin. The rest you swallowed, choking down the steady stream of bitter semen while he moaned above you and fisted your hair even tighter.
As he finally began to relax and the last few twitches of his hips came to a halt, he dared to open his eyes and look down at the sight below him. He had loosened his grip on your hair, allowing his dick to slip out of your mouth. You gasped and sucked in the much-needed air that you hadn’t been getting as he released you entirely. Collapsing onto your hands and knees, you coughed and wiped at your destroyed mouth while Five did nothing more than stare down at you with a kind of horrified fascination.
What had he done?
When you looked back up at him, though, and he saw that devilish smile sneak across your lips, daring him to give you more, he stopped caring. It was clear you were going to let him do whatever he wanted. And, fuck, if he didn’t want to do so many things to you.
“Up,” he commanded, still trying to catch his breath.
He held out his hand for you to take, letting him haul you up to standing. He ran a hand down your cheek and kissed your ruined lips. There was that moment of softness again, and you closed your eyes against his touch.
Five guided you so that you were sitting on the edge of the bed. After another kiss, this time leaving you breathless, he dropped to his knees between your legs. Gripping your thighs in his hands, he roughly pushed your legs apart while pulling you closer to him.
Digging his fingers into your hips, he buried his face into your wet, throbbing pussy, and moaned.
“This wet just from sucking my cock? Fuck, honey, you’re driving me crazy.”
Alternating between long laps with his tongue and sucking at your clit, it was obvious he knew exactly what he was doing as you leaned backward, holding yourself up with your hands flat on the bed. When you dropped your head back, it banged against the wall, but you barely noticed since you were already on the cusp of a strong orgasm.
“Five…” you gasped, eyes clenched shut and biting at your bottom lip. You tried desperately to rock your hips into his face, but his grip was too strong. He was devouring you; eating you out almost viciously, while your palms began to sweat as they pressed harder into the bed. “Five…holy fff-uck…OH GOD!” you screamed as one last, perfect lick sent you reeling. With your entire body shuddering, Five only went at you harder; until you were letting out quiet, pitiful cries, and your thighs twitched against his head.
As you tried to catch your breath, Five finally let up, tearing himself away from your warm deliciousness, and standing up to lean over you. He was just as out of breath as you were, with his mouth shining and lips red. A mixture of your arousal and his saliva pooled obscenely underneath you.
“That was…holy shit…” you tried to get out, but you were cut off almost immediately.
“I’m not done yet. Not by a long shot,” he rasped.
Though only minutes had passed since he had unloaded into your mouth, his cock was hard again. As he rummaged around in a drawer, pulling out a condom, and rolling it on, you scooted back so that you were lying down lengthwise on the bed. There was no more time for rest, though, before Five was climbing on top of you, that look of voracity overtaking him again.
He began to kiss you; hard and insistently while running his tongue over your bottom lip and venturing inside. It was a mixture of intense want and hesitation as he squeezed your ass with one hand and lightly stroked your hair with the other. When he pulled back, he looked deep into your eyes, his hand coming to rest gently on your cheek, his thumb pressing under your chin.
“What do you think, sweetheart? Ready for more?”
With a slow smile forming on your face, you nodded.
“Fuck yeah. Give it to me.”
Five groaned, closing his eyes and dropping his face to your neck. His teeth scraped against your skin as he kissed you fervently while your fingers threaded through his hair. The second you opened your legs for him, he was shoving himself inside. Sucking in a loud breath, he buried his face into your shoulder.
“Fuuuck…you are tight…god, you feel so fucking good,” he moaned pitifully into you.
You threw your head back against the pillow with a loud moan. “Oh my god, I knew your dick would feel amazing.”
He didn’t respond, but he took both of your legs and balanced them on his shoulders, angling your hips up to push his dick in even further. He was buried to the hilt, with his tight balls slapping against your ass each time he drew back and slammed back into you.
Five was gone; completely lost inside his own debauched fantasy. He wanted to fuck you harder and harder until you couldn’t take it anymore. He wanted to make you cry out his name while your back arched off the bed like you were possessed. When his eyes met yours, with the strands of hair stuck to his forehead from the sweat already forming there, you bit your bottom lip and smiled. You knew exactly what you were doing to him, and that made him want to absolutely ruin you.
Smacking your ass hard enough to leave a mark before throwing your legs off his shoulders, Five roughly flipped you over. He forced the side of your face into the bed as he thrust inside you again, stretching your pussy and filling you up with his thick cock. His ragged breath warmed the side of your neck with each punishing drive of his hips against your ass as you whimpered softly.
“Come on, honey, let’s hear it,” he snarled next to your ear. “You’ve been dying for me to pound that sweet little pussy…so let me hear you. I’m not stopping until I get what I want.”
“Fff-iiive,” you sobbed, your fists clutching the bedspread underneath you as he railed relentlessly into you.
“That’s right,” he answered, and you could hear that cocky smirk on his face. “Beg me.”
“Five…please…you feel SO…FUCKING…GOOD!”
The angle of his cock thrusting inside of you, along with his body trapping you beneath him, was more intense than anything you had ever experienced before. You were on the verge of coming; your cries becoming louder while you desperately tried to suck air into your lungs. The sting of his dick drilling inside of you was still not enough to mask the pleasure that was building. It hurt but you still wanted more.
Soon, that inevitable feeling of warmth and tightness formed in your core and you let go with a loud scream that echoed off the walls of his bedroom. Your body convulsed under his as his hips stilled against your ass when he expelled himself one more time. The groan that left him as he came was loud and long, leaving his arms shaking as he held himself over you.
After he was able to move off of you, you continued to catch your breath as you rolled over to face him. Five was kneeling on the bed, chest glistening with sweat and heaving as he flipped his hair out of his eyes. He didn’t say a word, but after a few more seconds, he climbed off the bed to dispose of the condom. You eyed him nervously. You had no idea how he was going to react, or if he was already regretting everything.
After tugging his boxers back on, he sat down on the edge of the bed. “Are you ok?” he asked, his voice tight.
You nodded and sat up. “Yeah, I’m ok, why?”
Five shook his head. “I was way too rough, I shouldn’t have…but you…” he trailed off, his frustration with himself evident. “Look, you got your way. This is done now, alright?”
With a roll of your eyes, you moved off the bed so that you were standing in front of him; the muscles in your sticky thighs aching from the movement. “Get over yourself, Five. We both wanted this, so stop pretending I put some spell on you to make you change your mind.”
He was silent, but he nodded, a brief flicker of a smile forming on his lips. “I’m sorry about your clothes.” He got up to grab a t-shirt from one of his drawers and handed it to you. “You can wear this; it should be enough to cover everything.”
As you worked the too-big shirt over your head, Five pulled his pants back on, zipping them up but leaving the belt hanging open. Reaching into his back pocket, he pulled out a small, balled up pair of women’s underwear. With a guilty smile, he tossed them over to you. “Here.”
You laughed in disbelief. “You stole my panties? What were you going to do with them?”
Five shrugged. “I hadn’t figured that out yet.”
Shaking your head, you looked down at them in your hand. “Such a dirty old man.” Glancing back at Five’s guilty face, you threw them back, and he caught them against his chest. “Keep them. I kind of like the idea of you doing weird things with them.”
Five made no comment, but he tucked them back into his pants pocket with a lop-sided grin. He held out his hand. “Come on, I’ll blink you back to your apartment so you don’t have to go back in just a t-shirt.”
You thought for a second, but shook your head. “No thanks. I don’t mind a good walk of shame now and then.”
As Five walked you to the door, you gave him a lingering kiss and trailed a hand down his arm. “Maybe the next time I make too much food, I’ll come over and share it? Think you can handle that?”
A smile slowly spread across Five’s face and he nodded. “Yeah, I think I can handle that.”
Then he watched as you walked away, wearing nothing but his t-shirt. He shook his head, not quite believing what had just occurred. He had thought he was so damn smart with his moral high-ground and superiority. But as it turned out, you had gotten the best of him. He lost at his own game. Tucking two fingers inside his pocket to stroke the silky material of your panties, he smiled to himself, thinking about how this may have been the first time in his life that he hadn’t minded losing.
Drunk! Five Hargreeves Headcanons/One-shot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He becomes super clingy and giggly
He can't walk straight and ends up just falling into you
Eyes are swarmed with an unknown emotion and a stupid smile takes over his face
"Have I ever told you how pretty you are?" He giggles, poking your nose with a 'bop'
His personality has taken a 180
His nails practically dig into your skin as he tries to hold onto you
Drinking is one of the things he overindulges in and you have to stop him
His hands are all over you, touching you, feeling you, holding you
He's not usually so affectionate, so it takes you by surprise
"Kiss me, please," he slurs his words, his lips puckering to kiss you, but you push him back slightly
You help him to his bedroom, as he tries to fight you, because he doesn't want to go to bed, he wants to stay up with you
You have to go with him for him to go to his room
As you go to leave, he reaches for you, "Please don't leave-"
---
You roam the halls looking for Five after his brother's wedding. You had seen him throwing back drink after drink, so you were worried that he was off somewhere black-out drunk. You heard light moaning and groaning coming from a far back room and you slowly opened the door to see Five sitting in a corner. His hair was a mess along with his shirt and tie.
He looked up slightly when hearing the door open. His eyes widened when seeing you; He tries to stand up, but ends up falling over and groaning.
"God, you are so drunk."
"I... I mam nost druuunk," his voice slurs as he speaks, causing his words to intertwine with each other.
"Uhuh," You walk over to him, grabbing his hand and helping him up. He leans into you, his head falling onto your shoulder. "I'm taking you to your room."
He adamantly shakes his head, "Noooo, no. I'm not tired."
You looked up at him, his body weight now pressing down at you, since he couldn't stand on his own. Your brows frown when seeing his eyes close and you roll your eyes. "You're so drunk, you don't realize that you're falling asleep right now."
He shakes his head, not able to vocally respond. Granted, even though was denying his sleepyness, he followed you to his room.
You slowly open the door, before shutting it with your foot when you both get in. He hangs off of you as you lead him to his bed and laying him down.
"Alright, Five. Try not to die in your sleep," You turn to leave, but you're stopped by a hand; His hand. He grabbed you, tightly, and was looking up at you with sleepy eyes.
"Please... Stay. Don't leave."
"You want me to stay?" You get out, ignoring his nails digging into your wrist.
He slowly blinks, trying to process what he was going to say next. He hums, before finally responding, "Yeah.. I want you to stay."
Before you can respond though, he yanks you towards him, holding you close against him. You sighed but ultimately accepted your fate. Hopefully, sober Five wouldn't question why he was entangled with you in a cuddle. Though knowing him, he probably would adamantly deny wanting to hold you close. But as they say, drunk actions are sober thoughts
only you (f.h.) (drabble)
Pairing: Five Hargreeves x Wife!Reader
A/N: The last month was pretty busy so I couldn't write much but I had a cute lil thought about this while I was on the bus cuz of all the Five tiktoks on my fyp
Tumblr media
"Honestly Five, your head isn't screwed on straight! No one in their right mind would put themselves at this much risk over and over again!" You shouted, voice almost hoarse and mouth dry as you continued to berate him, as you had since you arrived almost twenty minutes ago.
Your husband continued to ignore you, not even bothering to justify his reckless mission anymore and you continued to shout, waving your hands around in your helplessness and frustration.
Five Hargeeves was a great man but the one thing you absolutely detested about him was how he decided he had to do everything on his own. You were his partner, both in the commission and in his life, but he refused to trust you with his own matters.
To a certain degree, you could understand him. He was so anxious about saving his family, so tormented by their deaths hanging over him that he felt that unless he oversaw every single detail, it would all fall apart.
But just because you understood, didn't mean you appreciated your husband putting himself in harm's way when you could've helped him.
"Are you even listening to me?! Five! Your wife is here yelling at you, and you don't even have the decency to look her in the eye?!"
He didn't reply and you were stuck staring at his broad, blazer-clad shoulders.
Then he shifted, taking a deep breath and you heard the shaky breath he let out.
"Five?"
He finally turned, eyes glistening, cheeks wet and lip quivering and you felt so heartbroken at the sight of him that you felt your own tears prick at your eyes. You immediately closed the gap between you, "Oh, sweetheart."
You sat him down in the armchair, perching on his lap and letting him hide his face into your neck, peppering kisses to the crown of his head as he took some time to compose himself.
"I'm just—so tired." His voice cracked and you felt like your heart did as well, pulling away from him just enough so you could kiss his tears away.
"Shh, it's okay." You whispered, gently running your thumbs over the peak of his cheekbones. His hands were gripping your waist with the strength of a vice, nails digging into the flesh of your hips.
"What do you need, Five? Just give me the word and I'll make it happen." You told him, now more determined than anything to shoulder the pain he was feeling, "I would move the heavens and the earth to make you happy, my love. Tell me what you need."
He slumped over in defeat, pressing his forehead to yours, "You. Only you."
You sighed, now running your fingers through his hair. A part of you was disappointed that he was still unable to open up, another was unsurprised.
"Silly request. I'm already all yours."
Summary: You saw Five and Lila cheating and end up in a random train station. As a Diner caught your eye you couldn't believe what or rather who was waiting for you inside. Summary: You saw Five and Lila cheating and end up in a random train station. As a Diner caught your eye you couldn't believe what or rather who was waiting for you inside.
Here a sexy poster from Five I fell in love with! With every purchase you automatically support me :) https://amzn.to/3yGK6Fm
"You have no idea what most of the Fives in here would do for you"
I stumble out of the train, almost tripping over the edge. This can't be, he would never. I hate him, I never thought that I could do this but I do. My heart was shattered, it felt like it was being torn out of my torso and ripped in thousand parts. How could he do this to me? How could he do this to Diego? I have no idea where I am, or rather when I am. But I didn't care I just walked along the train station. My heels clicked with every step they took. The sound echoed with every thud on the white tiles.
I caught them. Five was missing and in my head there where millions of horrible ideas what could be happened to him. I can't believe I worried. We gone through so much shit and he shattered everything just like it was nothing. I traveled so far with these damn trains, no idea how I could possible come home again, just to caught them kissing each other. These assholes! Slowly the sadness turned into anger and every step I take gets louder.
In the distance I see red light reflecting on the floor. I swear to god if this is a trainstation-stripclub I trow myself on the rails. Seeing so much today what I couldn't believe makes me getting the wildest ideas, expecting anything but normal. I step closer and what I see is a Diner. Without hesitation I enter. I would kill for a chocolate croissant and a nice cup of coffee right now. But as soon as I entered everything went silent. Even a fly could be heard.
As shocked as they were as shocked I was. "This can't be", I mumble to myself. Every pair of eyes, which stared me down, were his. The Five which was now coming out of the back, let his tablet fall onto the ground. The sudden loud noise made the other ones fall out of their trance. "Y/n?", a few said, but others were just looking. "She's mine!", one of the Five's screams. Others were already talking him down. Another was punching a different Five and two got them apart. Without hesitation one five stood up and walked towards me. "I am sorry it's been a long time since they seen you", he says confusing me even more. "i...I what the hell is going on?", I ask, not believing what I saw standing infont of me.
"You just kissed Lila and now you are talking with me as nothing has happened? And what is this here? A stupid joke?", I ask him outraged. "Oh no darling I am not the five you know. I am coming out of a different timeline, but wouldn't you like to sit as I explain?", he asks politely. Like it was the most normal thing I go to sit with him at one of the diner tables, ignoring the fact that at least twenty versions of my boyfriend were looking down at me. As we sit down the Five on the counter rushed to our table.
"The black coffee, cappuccino and the chocolate croissant will be on your table soon", he stumbles, while looking at me. "How...?", I begin to ask but he was faster gone than I could blink. I feel more comfortable now as I saw how the attention was no longer drawn to me. "Explain, now", I demand as I was staring the Five before me down. "Feisty, as I remembered you", he says. I can't help myself but smile a little bit. "Why are there so many of you? And why was the one so obsessed", I ask. He crocked his neck. "We are all different Fives, out of different timelines. Most of them lost their Y/n, that's why things got out of hand", he explained. "So your five cheated on you? That's new, none of us did that, guess a new timeline has formed. Why would he do that...?", he asks himself.
I was shocked, overdosed with unimaginable information. "So what happened to your Y/n?", I ask him, just releasing I went to far. "She died in a fight, Hazel shot her", he says. "Five over there, who said you were his. She killed herself", he explains some more. I can't believe what he was just saying. "I would never do such a thing", I say. "No. Yourself in this timeline wouldn't but the on in his did. It's the same with us, we are all the same but different at the same time. I would never cheat on you and that's the point", he looks down on the floor. "I will find him don‘t worry, he will pay for what he did", he says while my eyes get big. "No... no he's still my Five I...", I try to bring the words out of me.
"Darling...", he leans over the table looking me staring into the eyes. "You have no idea what most of the Fives in here would do for you. Every single one of us is better as this little small cocked asshole", he says. I get nervous and have trouble looking him into the eyes. "He doesn't have a small...", I try to say. "I know I know...", he interrupts me.
Let me know what you think in the comments!
True Hate-filled Love
Summary: You hate Five and he hates you, but maybe with one simple agreement you can see one another from the other's view Pairings: Five Hargreeves x Reader Tw: Enemies to Lovers, Klaus shenanigans, Ganging-up on Klaus/Clowning Five, Klaus was a flat-earther???? [Since Umbrella Academy is trending and the new season was ass, I'll give you something better written than the whole season]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Five never agreed on anything. If you said the sky was blue or that the grass was green, he would disagree with you and vice versa. Even if the other agreed, your pride was too high to admit that maybe the other person was right. It was one of the flaws you both shared, along with your mutual hatred for each other. Though, maybe you didn't hate each other as much as you thought.
It all started one afternoon, when you and Five were sitting in the kitchen in quiet; For the first time ever. Unluckily for you both, Klaus was more than happy to ruin the peace you both had created with each other for the first time since knowing each other.
You ignored his presence at first because you didn't want to give him much thought. That was until he said something so incredibly stupid that you had to sit up and look at Five to make sure he heard it too. Five was already looking at Klaus like he was the dumbest person in the world.
"God, I wonder how often you were dropped on your head as a baby."
"More like thrown into a wall," You joke, causing Five to let out a chuckle.
"Knowing our father, he probably was."
"You two aren't funny," Klaus complains.
"And you're an idiot. What's your point?" You remark, not taking him seriously at all.
"It was just a question."
"One so stupid, that Y/n and I are in agreement for once in our lives."
"How stupid do you have to be for that?"
Klaus groans, rolling his eyes, "You know what, it's not even that big of a deal. It doesn't matter. It's like when you argued with me about the world not being flat."
"You think that world's flat?" You asked, clearly taken a back.
Klaus rolls his eyes, shaking his head, as he lets out a chuckle, "Of course not."
"Oh yeah," Five says, laughing as he leans into it. "You should of been there, you would have loved it."
"God, I can't even imagine how that went down."
"Not well."
"Oh, so you two are now buddy buddy? Gross," Klaus looks away from you both. "You'll be back to fighting in like five minutes."
"With you around? I might actually start to like Five more than you."
"That bar can't be very high," Five jokes, causing you to high-five him.
"Not at all."
Dating Headcanons F.H
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What it’s Like to Date Five Hargreeves
Pairings — Five Hargreeves x Reader (pronouns not specified)
Summary — My headcanons for if you were Five’s lover.
Warnings — opinions, no plot, it’s all over the place, last one is semi-NSFW.
A/N — i try to avoid nsfw with five because yk.. in the show, he’s physically thirteen but this one was too funny not to add. let’s all just pretend there was a happy ending okay 😭😭. i wrote this before season four came out so let’s pretend it ended happily.
— if you want another version where it’s just headcanons of you and five in the apocalypse i’m down for that.
Tumblr media
— I see headcanons where Five is straight up mean, manipulative, and where he’s just using you.
— To me, that’s not Five being in love with you. Have you seen how he treats Delores? HE’S SO SWEET TO HER.
— So if you’re his lover, he will give you princess treatment like no other, holy shit.
—He’ll prepare breakfast so it’s ready to be eaten when you wake up.
— He thinks breakfast in bed is a recipe for disaster so he never does that.
— If you take a while to wake up he’ll wake you up.
— “My love, breakfast is ready.” He’ll whisper into your ear before pressing a kiss onto your temple, then one on your forehead, then your nose… then finally a chaste kiss on your lips.
— He’ll tuck you in bed at night and make sure you’re all snug before leaving. If you can’t sleep he’ll read to you.
— With him around, you genuinely never have to open a door. In addition to paying for every meal, he always walks on the outside of the sidewalk. He also pulls the chair out for you when you sit and showers you with praise.
— Sometimes the praise is simple whispers in your ear because he isn’t much into PDA.
— There was never an official wedding, he stole two matching rings and gave one to you.
— He’d like to have an official wedding.
— If he has to worry about the apocalypse he’ll probably neglect you only because he thinks the fate of the world is in his hands.
— He loves going on simple dates, whether it’s at Griddy’s Doughnuts, a simple stroll in the park, or a little painting place.
— He’s fancy but he doesn’t see the point in expensive restaurants. He likes the little things.
— He loves to make and paint pottery with you, it’s his favourite thing to do.
— When he can’t sleep he’ll come over to your place and sit on the roof with you.
— If you fall asleep he’ll Blink into your room and tuck you in, and he’ll even leave a note for you to read when you wake up.
— It usually goes along the lines of..
“You fell asleep, don’t worry I made sure you got back in your room and I picked up all your stuffies from the floor and put them on the bed with you.”
— He struggles with insomnia.
— He’ll write you love letters even though it’s more convenient to send a text. He loves you and he’s willing to put effort in love notes.
— His primary love languages are quality time and acts of service.
— He doesn’t show much affection in public.
— He doesn’t mind holding your hand though.
— Five won’t be afraid to hold your hand, wrap an arm around your shoulders or waist while he’s with his siblings.
— Kisses and hugs are private though.
— Despite being private, he doesn’t hide the fact he’s dating you.
— If anyone tries anything on you, Five will glare daggers. If that’s not enough, he’ll threaten them, and if they keep pushing he’ll make them bleed (but not too severe 🥰)
— He’s hella protective.
— You make midnight munchies together.
— He’ll refuse to dance with you in the kitchen at 2am but he’ll reluctantly say yes and end up actually enjoying it.
— Same goes for dancing in the rain. He pretends to hate it but he loves it and you know he does.
— You always make pasta or noodles for midnight munchies.
— One time you made cookies and accidentally woke up Klaus who ate the cookie dough before you got to put it in the oven.
— When you guys had sex for the first time Klaus congratulated you and Five with a cake that said ‘virgin’ in the middle of a 🚫 and woke you up the next day with confetti.
Downfall [ Five Hargreeves x Reader ]
Tumblr media
Summary: No matter the timeline, you and Five never get your chance.
A/N: well I think I can agree with everyone that season four was not good… so my way of coping is making angsty imagines for it… I’m trying to cope with the fact this is the last time we will ever see them ): This is also super short, apologies
Warnings: Season Four Spoilers
MASTERLIST LINK
-
Five had seen multiple timelines with Lila throughout their time spent together. And in almost every single one they saw, you were dead by the hands of him or vice versa. Eventually it became normal to see you mourning Five or him taking revenge for you.
Lila could see how distressing it was for him to see every timeline play out the same for the both of you.
Fate never seemed to be on your side, and even in your timeline, Five never had the courage to tell you his feelings. Despite spending six years by his side, being his roommate, helping him with cases, being there emotionally for him… he never seemed to catch on to the fact that you held feelings for him, too.
On one of their multiple train rides, Lila tried to address what the two of you meant to each other, but Five didn’t want to acknowledge it.
Because he feared the moment he’d open up, fate would play it’s cruel trick again and guarantee he would never see you again.
So he buried it deep within himself so it would not haunt him.
-
For you, it was mere hours you had last seen Five. You had helped Allison and Claire rescue Klaus from being buried alive, and had found your way to Lila and Diego’s home.
Everything seemed to be alright, and although you could sense something was wrong with Five, you didn’t have the energy to ask, simply from the long day you were all having.
However, you didn’t fail to notice the looks Lila and Five were sharing. It made not only you suspicious, but Diego as well. It was started to grow more and more tense as he pried information from them.
It almost felt as if your heart was being ripped out of your chest, being stomped on by the universe, as Five and Lila confessed of their infidelity.
You weren’t sure if you wanted to console Diego or slap Five.
You decided on the latter before storming out of the house. Diego tried to stop Five from chasing after you, but Five was quicker and blinked to your side.
“Let me explain.”
“Get away from me!” You screamed as you exited the house. Nobody followed the two of you, so you only assumed Lila was in the hot seat.
“(Y/n)! Stop acting like a child and listen.” Five grabbed your arm and whipped you around to face him. He was close now, his breath fanning your face.
“How could I listen to the fact you and Lila shared such an intimate relationship while I have been waiting years for you to do the same with me.” You made sure to throw your words in his face, making all of your emotions clear as day. Pretending to not hold feelings for him was beginning to weigh you down, so you needed to let go of those weights now.
“All we did was kiss,” Five said it like it was the most simple action in the world. “One kiss and we realized our mistake immediately. We got wrapped up in our own little bubble and forgot the important things. I just… I couldn’t handle seeing you die anymore…”
“What?” You pushed away from him. Had he seen a timeline with you dead?
“I… we don’t get a happy ending in any timelines. No matter what we do, we fail to be together.” Five sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “I lost hope that even if we got back, it would lead to our demise.”
You didn’t know what to say to him as your heart began to beat uncontrollably.
He looked into your tear filled eyes and said, “I want to be with you, but I don’t want to kill you.”
“I don’t want to be with someone who, after forty years in the apocalypse, couldn’t even keep his heart on one person for seven years. It doesn’t matter if you realized your mistake, Five. I’ve been here the whole time waiting for you. I took care of you when you came home bloodied. I stayed up with you while you had panic attacks. I made sure that you had coffee brewed every morning.”
Five felt ashamed he had let everything you had done for him go to waste with his one mistake. “I don’t expect you to forgive me.”
“Maybe I’ll be the bigger person and actually forgive you, because I know deep inside I am that person. And I for sure know you aren’t because you kissed your brother’s wife, Five.” You scoffed and wiped away your tears. “Good luck with that.”
You began to walk towards your car without another word, and Five just watched as you left.
He was smart enough to know that if he chased you, it would lead to a grave.
And not too long after, he would sacrifice himself with his family, his last thoughts only consisted of you and how much he failed your relationship. Some selfish part of him hoped that he’d come back, to be able to see you again.
But the more rational side of him knew that he would never touch you again.
Because for once, you would be able to live in a peaceful timeline without him there to cause your downfall.
Five adored you. He was completely infatuated, head over heels for you.
"I want you so badly it might kill me"
That's how he asked you out.
You could never do wrong in his eyes. You were a work of art in them. You were the Francoise Pilot to his Pablo Picasso.
He's even worse when he's drunk. Especially when there's no hope to save the world one last time. He's a touchy drunk around you, acting like a cartoon character with bubbles popping out of his lips when he burped.
He's a fool for you, even when he doesn't want to be.
But it's alright.
Tumblr media
man he just fell in love at first sight
he couldn't help but admire everything you did, you moved smooth like butter
when he's not busy saving the world, he's surprising you with gifts / being very lovey dovey
he's a big physical affection person when he's lovesick
he literally daydreams of kissing you all day
he's actually obsessed
"y/n-"
"shut the hell up, five"
he's very overprotective of you
but not in a like stalker weird way, he's just concerned mostly
he doesn't wanna lose you cause he knows shit can flip at any second
he's genuinley the sweetest
yall have that old people love (cause I mean u kinda r old ppl cmon)
you sip hot tea on the porch swing in the morning to watch the sunrise
you live in a little cottage core home in middle of no where pennsylvania
he built your dreams dude 💔💔
think those few lines in miranda lamberts the house that built me
"mama cut out houses of pictures for years, from better homes and garden magazines. plans were drawn and concrete poured, nail by nail, board by board, daddy gave life to mama's dream"
if you get it you get it
I live / grew up in rural PA don't ask ab the country music
cause you'd definitely listen to the soft country type of music when baking in the kitchen or picking strawberries in the greenhouse together
Five Hargreeves x Fem!Reader Synopsis: You and Five return after seven years away in a different timeline- but you don’t return alone Word Count: 1.8k Tags: Fluff, No Lila and Five, Pregnancy, Children, Season 4 fix it (kinda) Note: Got so much love on the last one I wrote this! Try to ignore spelling mistakes it's currently 3am.
Stuck with only your irritable CIA colleague Five Hargreeves was anything but a good time. You both got lost at the godforsaken subway station he mistakenly teleported you both to. Travelling for a year by his side certainly mellowed you out. His personality slowly making you feel comforted as you both explored multiple timelines together trying to find your way home.
Surprisingly, the idea he possessed powers was the easiest thing for you to come to terms with, probably due to your job at the CIA making it seem plausible to you that the government does hide a lot- they’re even hiding the whole science of separate timelines.  After around a year of trying and failing to find your way home, you and Five decided to ease off the vigorous schedule you unwittingly created, finding a timeline safe enough to stay in for a while allowing you both to rest and brainstorm ideas of how you could both find a way home to your families.
You both made a mistake. Falling to know how long a while would be you find yourselves still in the timeline you chose as your ‘temporary’ home six years later. Finding each other a lot less frustrating than at the start of this. You suppose that’s an understatement as you watched Five play with your child, a girl who possessed brown hair and green eyes not too dissimilar to her father’s. It almost wasn’t fair how much her features favoured his. But, seeing his beauty reflected upon her features could never be something you would complain about.
“Maybe if we get lucky the next one will resemble you more,” you remember his words from a few days earlier when you started to show a hand placed under your abdomen smiling as if this was the greatest gift he could ever receive. But you don’t think it would matter if this one ended up looking like their older sibling and their father. If anything you would prefer it- not that you would ever admit it.
Picking another fresh strawberry from the greenhouse of the abandoned home you now called your own. You placed it into the basket plans to make jam and jelly already filling your mind when you felt yourself begin to flush from the sweltering heat of the sun beating down upon the glass. Your skin heating up to a point of large discomfort, sweat beginning to gather at your temples. You sighed knowing that you couldn't continue to harvest anything else unless you wanted to face Five’s rath over you overheating again.
“Mom!” Maxine ran towards you eagerly hands encircling your legs as she got close enough for a welcoming hug. She quickly looked up towards you big green eyes staring at you prettily
“Hiya munchkin” You stroked the top of her hair as she smiled up at you with glee
“What doing?” the three-year-old questioned head titling as she waited for your response
“Strawberries” was all you replied grabbing the basket to show her
“Have one?” she asked pointing at the basket, batting her eyes to try to sway your decision. You simply plucked one out of the basket and gave it to her relishing in the delighted smile she sent your way before biting into the sweet fruit. You smiled at her before looking up to meet the other pair of green eyes that had made their way into the greenhouse. Five watched the interaction of his favourite girls softly only moving closer once you looked at him.
“Everything alright mumma?” he questioned noticing your flustered expression from the moment he and Maxine stepped foot in the conservatory
“A bit hot” you admitted with a shrug of your shoulders as he drew closer, trapping Maxine in between the two of you as the back of his hand touched your forehead he hummed in agreement with your words
“Let’s get you inside the house, don’t need you getting heatstroke” You forced down the urge to roll your eyes at his dramatics and simply nodded in agreement
“Some cold water and a sit down would be nice.”
He grabbed one of your hands and Maxine’s with the other leading you both back towards the house. After placing the basket of strawberries in the kitchen you quickly sat down on the couch feeling a slight ache in your feet while Five grabbed you a glass of water with more icecubes than you could even count, you smiled in thanks as he passed it to you while Maxine sat next to you, a small children book in hands that she was determined to read to you and her younger sibling as she wanted them to be just as smart as her.
You could hear Five pattering around the house, tidying up before you could even think about it. Maxine had quickly given up on trying to read, getting bored after two pages and was instead sitting playing with some wooden blocks by your feet. You furrowed your eyebrows when you couldn’t hear Five moving around anymore a stark silence surrounding you now.
“Everything alright?” you shouted trying to figure out where he had gotten to, heart fluttering when there was no reply. Setting your glass down on the table in front of you as you rose from your rather comfortable spot on the couch, you walked into the other room where your lover was his body was stick straight, eyes not daring to leave the notebook in his hand. “What?” you questioned softly walking towards him, eyeing the words on the book as you got close enough.
“This” he began astounded “Is our way home, it’s written by me but I didn’t write this. Another me did.” you simply nodded before smiling
“Looks like we’re going home.”
── ✧
You and Five found yourselves outside of what he assured you was his brother Diego’s house. Maxine who was resting her head on his shoulder, legs wrapped around his middle looked astounded by the snow while nerves filled you- the last time you saw any of his family was when you were put on the case that got you lost in the timelines to begin with and even then you barely saw his brothers and sister-in-law as they were quickly taken to hq for a show round to get them out of the way. You didn’t even want to think how you would explain this to them let alone to your own family but you guess this is the easier of the two as they all had powers and also been to multiple different timelines. Five set Maxine down next to you as he rapped on the door you quickly grabbed her hand before she could run off into the snow when the door opened
“You back!” the man, Diego you assumed, smiled as he looked at Five
“I am” he stared at his brother almost in shock that he had seen him for the first time for him in seven years
“Good” the man confirmed “We were all starting to get worried.” his eyes then turned towards you and the brunette-haired little girl who was trying to hide behind you “And you are?” he questioned and you quickly gave him your name his eyes sparking in recognition for some reason as he crouched to the ground to greet your daughter “And who is this little princess?” he asked quietly as Maxine started at him
“This is Maxine” is all you said feeling Five’s eyes on you knowing he wanted to wait until you got inside to drop the bomb you could see Diego begin to connect the dots as he introduced himself to you but he was clearly confused because he would know if Five had a child in the last three years in this timeline at least.
“I will explain everything once we get inside- can’t let the missus get cold” is all he said to Diego as the man allowed you into his home.
He quickly led you to the living room where to sat on the sofa, Maxine being picked up by Five and placed on his lap when she tried to climb onto yours, you turned towards him to complain but quickly stopped when you met his glower instead choosing to put a comforting hand on your tummy a habit you kept from your first pregnancy. Diego called for his wife Lila to come to sit with him when the door opened revealing more of Five’s family he whispered their names to you as they walked in all choosing to sit down when Diego told them that Five was going to explain where he’s been and why his colleague, a word you hadn’t been referred to as in a long time, was here. With most of his family here excluding Ben and Viktor, he cleared his throat to get their attention
“As you all know the marigold has made our powers a little different to what we are used to” They all made sounds of agreement “My blinking takes only to a tube station where each stop is a new timeline and we” gesturing to you “got stuck, unable to find our way back until now. We were away for seven years but for you has only been a few hours” he took their silence as a sign to continue “This is my wife” he spoke your name “And our daughter Maxine.” you sat in silence for a moment.
“Wait! This is the colleague he was always telling us about?” Luther asked excitedly you turned to the larger man confused when Klaus and Allison quickly agreed with him
“I thought he was joking when he said there was a cute girl who he worked cases with” Claire, Alison’s daughter, announced making her mother and uncles laugh
“I can’t believe you have a child” Lila spoke eyes wide
“Well he is going to have another one in a couple of months,” you told the already shocked woman who quickly smiled at the revelation while the others called out congratulations to their brother
“How far along are you?” Allison asked as she came up to you silently questioning if she could touch the small bump you simply nodded “We think around thirteen weeks” looking to Five who simply nodded
“She only started showing a few days ago”
“I can’t believe it” Luther called out while pulling funny faces making Maxine laugh as she got a little less shy around her family.
You smiled as you watched Maxine get up and walk towards Lilas’ children playing with them as Five’s hand found its way to yours stroking your knuckles. You never thought you could ever get home let alone come back home happier than you had left it. You suppose a thanks was due to your rather irritable husband and his wacky powers.
