okay so hear me out with this i cannot stop thinking about age gap dean (this one is for the girlies with daddy issues) !!!

a fic in which dean is significantly older than reader (like two decades) and he’s all “i can’t be with you, i couldn’t do that to you, i’m too old for you, i’ll ruin you” yada yada yada

and then reader (slut) is all like “i know what i’m asking for, i want you, i’m in love with you, please i want to be yours”

and then dean’s like “i have clothes older than you, i finished high school before you were even born, i’m old enough to be your dad, please don’t ask this of me”

but he’s SO clearly in love with reader

and he’s TRYING to do the ‘right thing’ despite his feelings for the sweet misguided little girl in front of him

but eventually reader FINALLY breaks him down and gets him to admit his feelings for her……

and then it’s all smoochie boochie “i’ll look after you, i love you so much, i’ve loved you for years” cheesy bullshit

Do you ever think about pre freshman year Fig Faeth? Do you ever think about how she went from a young preppy wood elf, a cheerleader, with loving parents and friends to being rejected by every person in her life, being the actual manifestation and proof of her mother's cheating on her father, having to deal with drastic and painful physical and internal changes with no one there to help her through it or prepare her for it?

Some times, when I watch Fig being so hell bent on helping and hyping up Gilear my heart breaks at the thought of Fig having to hear him call her a demon and pushing her away.

I know some people think that Emily's desire to play another character instead of Fig was the reason why she was so all over the place and lost, especially in the first half of JY.

But I honestly feel like her arc was actually incredibly needed and necessary to close her character evolution in a satisfying way. (While still leaving open doors for possible future plots with the Dawn and Sandra Lynn stuff)

Fig has been struggling to find herself since the first moment. She has had to come to terms with being a completely different race than what she thought before and deal with all the consequences of that. She had to grow out of the toxic habits that were born out of her deeply rooted insecurities that finding out about her identity and lineage caused. She had to learn to be kinder to herself. I love sophomore year, it's my favorite season for so many reasons, but I feel like Fig's arc in JY was actually her best one.

Fig being so lonely at the start of the show and her innate devotion made her becoming so focused on holding others' needs over her own an inevitability. She was always aimlessly moving through life, so talented and gifted in many ways but with no real purpose outside of being the protector.

The way JY explored her struggles with introspection and her need to devote herself to others to such an extent that she ignored a curse on herself for far too long was beautiful.

Finding Ankarna, becoming a paladin of dawn and justice and coming to a point where she could let herself choose what felt right instead of what her friends needed was incredible to watch.

I feel like Junior Year gets a lot of criticism because the overall vibe from the IH was lighter and they were having a lot of fun throughout, but the story of the season was actually beautiful to me and the overall character work was so interesting.

Valeria excels in any class that requires magic and is more hands on, like DADA, Charms, and Transfiguration. She wields magic more on instinct than anything else so she picks it up rather quickly. It helps that she gets a lot of practice…

She probably spends the most time on potions. She does well overall (a lot of it is following directions) but has trouble understanding the ingredients and the theory behind it. She’ll often take supplementary classes with Sharp or have Garreth or Sebastian tutor her.

She’s pretty good at the other classes but she struggles with herbology and divination. She can’t grow a plant to save her life (Deek takes care of her plants). She usually partners with Sebastian since he knows what he’s doing and he doesn’t mind doing the work for both of them 🤭 Oh and divinations - she understands nothing. It makes zero sense to her and frankly, doesn’t really believe in it (ok maybe a little).

OH AND SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO MAGICAL THEORY! It’s not in her curriculum and she would be terrible at the class but she loves learning about it (mostly because her favorite professor teaches it). Valeria and Fig have their weekly yap sessions to discuss progress on the keeper trials and whatever else, and a good chunk of that is on magical theory. The other chunk is gossip time and Fig teaching her how to brew tea properly.
