The sun was sinking below the San Francisco skyline. Normally, the Metallica house hummed with energy, but tonight it was just Cliff and me, in the garage. I mean, the band had been working on new material forever, now it was our turn. Cliff rolled a joint, and we were off and running.

This garage was stuffed with instruments and amps everywhere, with crap all over. Together, the smell of metal mixed with the sweet scent of marijuana. It made me giggle to myself, Lars hated when we smoked in the garage, because it made his drums smell like weed for weeks. I could imagine the Dane getting red in the face, whining that his snare suck like dope.

We were sitting in an old, ratty couch, worn out for sure, but we were laughing and talking on it about nothing and everything.

Cliff dragged on his end of the joint hard, then passed it back to me. His eyes streaming with NOT a care in the world, he said to me, "You know, if I wasn't playing bass, I'd probably be a rocket scientist. I mean, how hard can it be?"

I snorted, nearly choking on my hit. "Oh, totally. You'd be the first rocket scientist with a denim jacket and jeans.”

He laughed again with that deep, infectious laugh I so loved. "Hey, at least with my way, I would look cool.”

I passed the joint back to him and settled back; that warm tingle began spreading through me. "You know, I've been thinking," I said, my words a much slower and softer than usual. "What if aliens are just future versions of ourselves? Like, they're us—a million years from now?”

Cliff's eyes widened, and he nodded wisely. "That makes total sense. That's why they keep coming back… to make sure we don't fuck things up too badly."

We fell into an ocean of giggles, the kind that made your stomach ache and your eyes water. Just then, the garage door creaked open, and James stepped in with an expression on his face that was just plain annoyed.

"What are you two idiots laughing about now? I can hear you from my room," he asked, shaking his head but clearly fighting off the urge to smile at how dumb we were being.

Cliff grinned up at him. "Hey man… You ever seen an alien?”

James raised an eyebrow. "I’m looking at two right now."

I leaned forward, my eyes glinting. "Shut up James… cliff is a rocket scientist..."

James chuckled. "Yeah, and I'm the president."

"No way!" Cliff gave me a high five… for no particular reason. "You'd be the worst president ever. All you would do is drink."

James shook his head again, still smiling. "You guys are hopeless."

I took another hit, then handed the joint over to James, even though I knew he didn’t smoke weed, he was more of a cigarette kinda guy. "Come on, join us. We're on a roll here. Next we're going to figure out if Bigfoot is real."

Shockingly, James took the joint, a rare indulgence, and took a small, weak puff. "Alright, but only if you promise not to make fun of me."

Cliff and I exchanged a look, then burst out laughing.

James plopped down on an amp, relaxing a bit. "So, what's the deal with Bigfoot?"

Cliff leaned back, seemingly to consider it. "Well, obviously he's real. He's just really good at hiding I guess... Like, world champion or some shit."

"Yep," I chimed in, "he's probably just hanging out in the woods, laughing at us as we try and find him."

James shook his head in disbelief, laughing. "You two are nuts. This is why I don’t smoke.”

Cliff put an arm around me and pulled me close. "That's why you love us, man."

James hit the joint again and passed it back to me. "Whatever, no more rocket scientist talk. I can't handle it."

Finally, James stood up and shook his head, almost for the final time. "Alright, I'm outta here."

He left, and Cliff and I burrowed back into the couch, still giggling. "You know," he said in a low voice, "I love being an idiot with you."

The reason behind Monty and Moon's bitterness towards each other is that Monty made an insult about the twins in what he thought was "private". Turns out Moon overheard that and in return for that, stole Monty's sunglasses, then his bass. After Monty found the thief, the two bickered and then the rest is history. Their relationship was born out of triviality rather than jealousy like Monty with Freddy.

Here's a nice incorrect quote:

Roxy's prone to spend money on your bank account. What do you mean get a job like a normal human? She's already a big star.

A while back I said that Sun writes his own scripts as a way to grieve over his original job. They're very private, only the bestest of best friends get access to his book of plays. Which is obviously, you. The notebook consisted of little pieces of dialogue to actual script writing include scene changes, action captions, etc. He usually writes children's plays but some are a bit more thorough and deep and has themes like “death” and “intimacy”. He loves gushing to you about it. (A real theater kid)

Moon likes to watch horror movies. I know I said he'll make snarky comments about the plot during movie date night, but he really enjoys them. Helps find new way to scare (Benison) intruders; recreating iconic horror movie scenes like The Ring (he crawled out the vent like the girl crawled out the tv), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (he ran around with those finger pointer things and recorded chainsaw sounds), Carrie (he filled a bucket with red paint and dropped it, Sun cleaned up the mess) as well as others. Will also say some iconic horror movie lines. "I want to play a game." As he shows up with red spirals on his cheeks.

Claire has such bad luck when it comes to love. She got catfished, dumped, cheated on, sexual assaulted once. Her love life was horrible. 

Lorelei knows how to sew. She sewn a heart with the bisexual colors on the back of a bomber jacket and gave it to you.

The mini Music Men are named after musical terms. The main three that hang out with DJ the most are named Alto, Tenor, and Soprano. (And they're all treblemakers ha ha 😏)

Sylvester married his wife Julia a while back. Before he quit his job at Circus Baby's Pizza World, Ballora said something to him. "If you ever cause Julia pain, I will find you and send you to your death." The strangest thing about that was Sylvester never mentioned his wife's name on the job, nor does Julia even work remotely close to the place.

Claire can't see without her glasses. At all. Please don't take them she's been through enough already.

Bonnie had ADHD, so it was really hard for him to focus. Freddy's the only one that helped reduced it. 

Sylvester and Bonnie were good friends back then. Bonnie would call Sylvester "old man" and they would bowl together on his [Sylvester] free time.

Foxy once mistaken a map bot for a worker, to which led to a little argument before, Sylvester had to tell him that wasn't a worker and walk the old man out of there. Foxy also pulls up reading glasses when reading small print, just to emphasizeshis old man demeanor.

(Y/N)'s personality is chill and carefree, maybe a little too carefree. But she gets shit done, and will bite back if her or any of her friends get hurt. That's why she and Vanessa don't get along well. Sometimes she screws with her on purpose.

Lorelei believes in nihilism.

Sun gets nervous when it comes to undressing and nudity. Even though he doesn’t have a dick, he still puts a towel or a blanket to cover down there. You have to tell him that all bodies are beautiful and he has literally nothing to hide. Monty and Lorelei have a cousins relationship. Somehow the two end up together causing whatever chaos they can do. They also bicker but it’s a good time.

He's Loup Doop's lil brother-he's mentally about 8 years old.

He's...not really sure what his job is. Neither does staff, so they just let him do whatever. He's pretty sure he was just supposed to be a sign to encourage kids to stay hydrated, but he tries not to think about it too much.

He doesn't have a voicebox, either, so he also communicates through pictures.

His left hand has a bubble shooter, his right is his charging port/USB drive.

His left hand can also serve as a tazer, but Loup Doop won't tell him why he can't see his own blueprints, so he doesn't know about that. No incident has ever happened where he finds out thus far.

He's very social, loves messing around with kids even though he isn't an actual featured attraction. He does push out a ton of bubbles for kids 'like him' to pop and play with.

He reaally wants to play with other kids, but he doesn't see much of them too often.

He, like Loup Doop, hangs out with the STAFFbots and Wet Floor bots. Unlike her, however, he doesn't mind hanging out with the other animatronics. He thinks Chica's great, he doesn't mind being treated like a kid. They paint nails together and play with dolls sometimes. He doesn't talk to Roxy much, only when he's with Chica. He thinks Monty is super cool, despite his sister's discouragement. He snuck into Monty's room to try on his glasses once and got caught. Turns out Monty didn't really mind, he liked having another fan. He tries to teach Bloo to play bass when he's not busy. Bloo hasn't seen Freddy much-he's watched all the performances, though, so he's pretty informed. He thinks that Loup Doop's a bit too cynical towards Freddy. He's sure Freddy's just as nice as everyone else.

His relationship with the DJ is sort of like how kids talk to their friend's parents. He'll say hi, give all the pleasantries...and then immediately go off to mess around with the minis once he's finished talking.

He loves engaging in harmless pranks, so anyone else who does is amazing in his book.

He's the reason Loup Doop ever sets foot in the Daycare at all. He loves Sun and Moon, thinks they're very cool. He collects candy wrappers, keeps old worn plushies he finds in storage, drew the poster to hang in his 'room'...

He doesn't get to see Sun much, mainly cuz Sun's busy with the kids and he can't be in there with them for fear of Management raising complaint. If he goes in real quick before closing, though, he might be able to pop in and say hi. Maybe a quick game of checkers if he's lucky.

He sees Moon much more often because he catches him on his night patrols. Moon doesn't mind the company, apparently, because he actually engages with the kid when he talks to him. It's been a while since he was able to take care of kids...

no I'm not saying people only watched the show cause whatever actor was in it, just that bailey's claudia or jacob's louis is the only version of those characters for them, if they're not into the books or haven't seen other adaptations. book fans are more loyal to the overall property cause they've already seen multiple versions of these characters and already care about them in the books. louis and claudia are meant to be almost equally important in the second half of iwtv and i know i would completely lose interest in the whole show if jacob was suddenly recast so I do get why some would feel that way about bailey.

im back like . a day later. its gonna be short im on the bus typing this and today i am sad because i lost a friendship and i didn’t even know it. and i feel very sad because i wanted to be a really good friend but i guess i didn’t live up to it. and i didnt really have a say in this friendship ending. i dont know.

whenever i am in a rwally bad state (worse than something to trigger me writing out when the pawn) i listen to jobless monday by mitski on repeat. it scares people when tbey see it on my spotify activity think. im doing it rn

genuinely i like this song and its been my favorite mitski song since 2016. its just a comfort song.

last time i did this i was having a bad day at work. i dont really wanna get into the other times but know it was even worse

i forgot to put the days yesterday, or i think even the entry before too. whatevs, i just need to remember from now.

anyways, here's a pic of me while in an h&m in that freaky mall:

maybe today will just be lots of pics cuz i didn't do a lot. i like, made ramen and worked on music. same 2 songs i've been trying to get perfect, i think i got closer with one, and then two other songs, i added bass to one, did some minor stuff to the guitar sound on another, just to get more transients out of it and idk, get it louder. but on the two songs i want to get right, idk, it's weird problems, there's like, a flatness maybe, i'm having trouble with, and then in one it's an issue of maybe i just need to bump the vocals higher, and then i dunno. whatever.

usually people write about how they feel in diaries, i do that sometimes only cuz i'm just so fixated on stuff that i think might hardly matter in terms of getting these songs right or like, living my life.

it's crazy how normal all this must be in like, the rest of the u.s. but to me the fall colors here and climate were super crazy and wonderful. i hope to go somewhere even more like that eventually, farther north in the fall, i would really love that.

i don't know why, really, i guess is stayed up too late. maybe i didn't eat enough either. god, thinking on that, it was so hard to get water in denver, when we were in our hotel room we mostly just let icecubes melt and get water from that. the two bottles we bought (big ones) was not enough. in japan water was so cheap, for so much. it's like they wanted you to be alive.

i should sleep soon, though. i feel like woozy and i keep thinking the sun is about to be up because it's so bright in vegas and denver was so dark at night, i've never seen less effective streetlights anywhere and i am so not used to a lack of light pollution.

But he grew accustomed to it and figure out what it meant and it's glad it didn't because it's someone his stuff and it really is his stuff and Elmo is representing him and so he said take him with you and she did and she drove off and he was seatbelt it in it says I'm always smaller instead of laughing and she said what is with that buddy and he says I don't know I don't eat enough well I know where we are and we're driving along so he started talking and talking and she's like that's nice and she felt great so it's like how tall are you anyways because I can't tell and you didn't tell me it's a woman thing and she smile so that's how I know it's you you're kind of rude I'm actually American and you're an antigen Antarctic he smile so that's actually true so he looks up at her after saying I think it's an American bass no and with these loving eyes from Elmo and she almost broke down tears and said I think it's an American base he goes good and looked happy and all sudden she said freaked out cuz it's all changed a little no. They having trouble and you guys keep bothering him more and more and more it's horrible but he made some kind of connection between Saint almost fire and the group getting captured by Trump and him figuring out where they are and they went out there and somehow they grabbed the group of them and they brought them down to New Mexico and that's why sicario begins. And the people who are captured in the wall are from New Mexico and they're questioning the aliens and the clones want the Intel and this is coming up and our son didn't know it and they also want the information on the light cycle facilities that you guys have. And tonight is a preamble well it already happened and we'll show you that as well

I Really have no idea how to start this off so let me paint the picture for you; It 1990-something and smart phones dont exist, you come back from school exhausted, fina-fucking-lly, its the weekend. You throw ur bag down and greet your grandparents, since you stay with them when its school session cuz they live closer to the city, and make your way to the attic. You pop in your 'MTV Unplugged in new york - NIRVANA' cassette tape into your walkman, and chill out next to your stack off books, easel with an unfinished painting you started ages ago but could never bring yourself to finish it, too scared to ruin it, used mugs of hot cocoa and coffee you and your brother forgot to take out, and a pile of empty Arizona Green Tea and redbull. You sit by the inner ledge of the window where theres a pillow supporting your back, looking outside. You see your brother just got back, "what a slow walker man", you laugh to yourself. A few later you hear the door slam open and see eric, your brother, waaayy outta breath. "took you long enough" you say, "ya ya i know i know i was late but i got the blockbuster now so lets just watch it" he says. You shrug, as he wheels in the tv with "Dead Poets Society" already beginning to play. " Ahh shit, its already playing!!" eric said disheveled. "Wheres the hot cocoa? WHERES THE HOT COCOA?!", "HEY HEY ERIC CHILL! - i got it, here take yours", you say as you give him his hot chocolate and quiet down to hear the movie. It was practically tradition now, to watch it every fall together in your guys' "loft" that you fight a lot in, but also have a lot of fun in. Later on, when the movie was over, you practice bass while eric practices his drums. And when the sun finally set around 9, you decide to go on a walk alone and have a smoke while wondering "why is the sunset only beautiful during the weekend?".

I don't know if that brought comfort to really anyone and it was a quick type so excuse any mistakes but damn man theres something so authentic in that that makes life feel real in a way. As Trent from Daria once said "Its the warmth of the vinyl", haha but honestly. I dont know how to explain it but your mind doesnt seem to be on pause and mute the whole time mindlessly scrolling and killing your precious time and supressing your thoughts and emotions- which were all guilt of, and one way argue that what i wrote above is also the same thing, a form of escapism; but in actuality, theres this authenticity and warmth to it i wanna blog about. I wanna blog about my experience getting better at bass, cuz yes i do play ;) but i wanna get better. As well as just blogging some cool things i find. As I kinda already hinted at Dead Poet Society is one of my favorite movies ever, I enjoy sunsets but only when im mentally relived enough to realize wtf is going on around me (i really wanna put a dead emoji here but my emoji page just froze on me idk what happened man), I fucking love nirvana and honestly just music of all kind, but i tend to lean more on anything that came out kinda like maybe 70-90, mostly 90s, cuz if feels real and warm in a way, not mass produced or remakes like most things today. Not saying that they didnt have that problem back then they definitely did, just not so much so that the standard is unoriginality and the same fucking bullshit that you just get sooooo tired from. Not saying i dont like certain things from our gen or that i wish i was born then, NO (imagine a dead emoji), our technological advancements rn are so fucking cool man, but its reached a point of life becoming mundane, depressing, and robotic for most; so I dont really know man, maybe it would be cool to have lived in the past, bu we still have our perks ;)

Loads of my favorite movies are also from the 70-90 period but mostly the late 80- early90ish? u know? Like Gia, running on empty, stand by me, my own private idaho, foxfire, girl interrupted, and ik ive said this so many times but DPS! MAN! DEAD POET SOCIETY!! Its a killer movie. & Ive carried out my love for dc and old scooby doo movies like the witchs ghost and alien invasion and mystery inc too even tho its a series, and you know all things spook in a way, yet comforting and remind me of my childhood, til now even tho that could be seen as childish ig but hey... who cares man :)) (im using keyboard faces cuz my emoji bar is still fucking frozen haha)

Anyways if any of that interests you, or you feel any way like this lets follow each and just share cool movies, bands, song, and shit like that and maybe bring a bit of authenticity back into this world while doing that.

Monty strummed his bass, humming the lyrics to a song one of the staff had showed him yesterday. He was spending the day with Sun and Moon while the plex was getting deep cleaned, since Superstar Daycare was one of the last places on the list.

Well, mostly Sun at the moment, Moon’s AI was taking a nap in their shared headspace.

Monty stopped playing to nudge the other with his elbow.

“Hey, Sun.”

“Yeeeeeeees?~” Sun lilted, rotated his head to look at the gator so he wouldn’t have to from his comfortable position.

Monty cleared his voicebox and drew in a deep ‘breath’.

“Mon-?”

“GRAAAAAAAAAAWWWRRRR!!!”

“GOODNESS GRACIOUS!”

Sun swayed, disoriented from the sudden sound; auditory processors  ringing. 

“What the Faz is going on?!?” Moon yelled. His nap had been rudely interrupted by whatever the heck just happened and he demanded to know why!

Oblivious to their confusion, Monty grinned at the floor and scratched his cheek with a claw, the end of his tail twitching as he tried to hold back from wagging it full force.

“That means ‘I love you’ in gator,” he said, awkwardly. “Made it extra loud so Moonie could hear it too.”

Well gosh, they couldn’t be mad at him now.

“Aaawwww, Gummy. C’mere, you!”

Sun held the gator’s cheeks to turn his head towards them and pressed their faceplate against his snoot, and then all over his face.

“Mwuah! Mwuah! Mwuah!”

Monty laughed, trying to break out of the Daycare Attendant’s hold.

“Nooooo!”

“We love you too, silly.”

“Bleh, gross!”

Monty jokingly rolled his eyes and lightly bunted his snoot agains Sun’s faceplate in retaliation.

“Ho ho ho!” 

The two settled back down and Monty started strumming again.

“Y’know you’ll have to do it again once Moonie takes over so it’s fair, right?”

The bassist slid down until he was on his back and rolled over so he was face down on the floor cushions, groaning in embarrassment while Sun chuckled above him.

An hour later the lights turned off, and a staff member passing by the Daycare almost had a heart attack at the loud roar from inside.

BONUS:

monty doesn’t get how the DA’s ‘sharing a body/ mindspace’ works so he roared extra loud to make sure moon would feel included

moon is grumpy from being woken up but forgives him and, once he’s in control of the body, asks that monty give a little warning next time

sun and moon can’t really roar back; when they try, it comes out kinda weak or sounds more like they’re saying the word ‘rawr!’ out loud vs actually doing it

it’s rlly silly tho cuz sometimes monty and the DA will hang out and either sun or moon will like, nudge monty’s hand and say a tiny ‘rawr!’

and he’ll laugh and wag his tail so hard that if a kid were nearby they’d be flying if they got hit

personally, i also conceptually enjoy srs bsns which is a really upbeat song about how they don’t care if people don’t take them seriously because they know in their heart that what they’re doing is good

hyperfocus - 2nd EP, a pretty substantial departure from their usual style, but also happens to quietly be Corpse’s favourite, and is actually y/n’s most polarising, because it has both the Grammy award winning HEARTBURN and the o brother where art thou which was written partially as a joke to capture a fond moment of them and 5SOS dicking around together in a hotel. written while on tour wit 5SOS, im writing the reader as having ADHD (because I have ADHD and i can do what i want), and the backstory is that they’d changed the medication/dosage they were taking, and as it’s their first full tour, they were under a lot of stress and were in a weird place mentally and emotionally, and hyperfocus is the result of that. i’m going through some stuff has HUGE agoraphobic vibes. 

HEARTBURN has the same vibes as Florence + The Machines’ Howl. It’s about being a demon without saying that or directly implying that unless you know demons real well. This is when the pressure for them to confirm their identity got real bad, and it was their way of working through those emotions.

They also take time to sort out their health, do a little bit more YT stuff, and travel internationally to do festivals. 

working on it - is kind of a middle ground between their original stuff, and hyperfocus, like pop-punk meets horror-pop meets whatever you’d classify halsey as. the first three songs were mostly written before the fic starts, so before they’re getting back to YT, but the last three, nightmare scenario, designed to hurt (touch me), and not scared were all written after they’d started hanging out with sykkuno and corpse. 

in-universe, imposter syndrome was originally something else, along the same lines of tired that they’re hiding that they’re a demon, but after meeting corpse nd sykkuno and having people who know, and lowkey being influenced by corpse’s music, the song changes directions, and YO OKAY YO::

ur my favourite - interlude ft. sykkuno is probably one of my favourites, it’s just really soft, just a snippet of a conversation between the reader and sykkuno, maybe one of them told a joke and they both just sound real happy and sweet. its nice. it’s a nice moment.

means something is also for sykkuno!! it’s about how good-strange it is to be open and honest with friends, and how they usually aren’t but they’re glad they can be open and honest with him!!

meanwhile, i don’t think about u - interlude ft. CORPSE is a phonecall between corpse & the reader right after they announce they’re going to feature on acting like that, where corpse asks if they do this sort of thing to spite him, to which the reader responds ‘do i consider you when i’m making decisions about my career? no, corpse, actually i don’t think about you at all’ which then directly contrasts the song that ends the album, which is (how it feels to be) beautiful fireworks, which is essentially ‘i know how hard it is to exist like this, to be the centre of attention, to give off light and bring people joy, even when you’re in pain. i’m here for you. i love you.’
