h-how do you ever finish any of your work? genuine question because you seem to be productive despite your agreste syndrome and I need to learn your ways. but also how do you ever finish any of your work

unclear. last night i stayed up and finished a report worth 25% of my grade at about 5am, arrived on time for my 9am lecture, and spent about half of it zoned out while thinking about seventeen year old emilie agreste. and i was one of the most active participants in the class discussion

#in some ways it IS the move to go to grad school right out of undergrad #because your body can still sort of operate like a college kid #i’m on about 3ish hours of sleep rn and this morning it felt SO over but now i’ve eaten something and we’re so back #i also don’t really do caffeine. except sometimes i’ll go get one of those panera death lemonades #i might be able to snag a short nap before work #but anyway about seventeen year old emilie. i was thinking abt how she was in that movie solitude and adrien said she was seventeen #WAIT. NO. HE SAID SHE WAS SEVENTEEN IN THAT PHOTO ON HIS DESKTOP NOT IN THE MOVIE #well. okay whatever i’m gonna tell you what i was thinking about anyway #OKAY i’m back i just checked the wikipedia page and then i watched the end of gorizilla. to make sure i’m not lying. because i’m normal.#anyway i was thinking about the solitude film and how it’s super rare and old and obscure and whatever. and how apparently #emilie wrote it herself and andre produced it #and i’m thinking about how gabe was discovered by audrey and that’s how he got his start in the fashion industry #so now i’m like?? did gabe and emilie first meet on the set of solitude? because gabe was designing costumes or whatever?#and that’s how audrey found him? have people already thought about this??#also i just checked and it doesn’t say emilie’s last name in the credits and also it’s ‘graham films’ with the twin rings logo m #so i’m assuming she’s still emilie graham de vanily at that point #anyway it comes back to seventeen year old emilie because i started imagining seventeen year old runaway emilie having her new life in pari #after escaping her british nobility life #and the first thing she does is write and star in an original movie. of course.#and she meets this repressed bisexual punk upstart costume designer who is so the opposite of everyone she’s ever known #and he’s immediately so unhealthily obsessed with her. which she appreciates.#and then they proceed to have the most toxic doomed evil relationship of all time #also she gets cheated because once gabe gets money he represses himself SO hard that he is now exactly like all the people emilie grew up w #but at least he’s still obsessed with her #this is what i was thinking about during class today. i don’t know how i get anything done either.#ml #anna rambles #asks

cant even remember wht subgenre of acute mental illness i was living with at 18 which gave me the ability to write ashara the way i did but im so glad i went thru that shit bc a solasmancer who acts essentially as a microcosm of the present day world and reflects the exact problems solas hates so much about it but still somehow comes to love is. objectively insane. and here she is 7.5 years later and about 3x worse

part of me: yeah i mean it's mayyybe for the better that amity didn't get a hooked nose *in canon*, considering that feature is stereotypically associated with jewish people, and amity was initially introduced as an antagonist with a wealthy and powerful family, and that fact could have played into some bad stereotypes before her and her family got more fleshed out

also me: but also i am ethnically jewish and have a prominent nose and i just really wish there were more female major characters w features like that who aren't treated as ugly by the narrative and i like her i think it would be neat if she had a hooked nose like her dad

#sidenote:#i am very relieved that her parent w the button nose is the money-hungry one working for the evil government #while her parent w the hooked nose wants no part of any of that and joins the protagonists and puts doing the right thing over money #instead of the other way around #also i think there's been similar said about the fact that she's white #amd how it's a mix of wishing she wasn't white bc it would be do nice to get more representation through the protag's love interest #but also the fact that if the wroters weren't careful they could've played into stereotypes w her and/or her family #abt being aggressive or obsessed w academics or overly strict or greedy etc #(tho it'd prolly be doable esp w her redemption and how if they had made her latina or black or east asian it would be offset #by the fact that this show has main characters of those ethnicities who DON'T adhere to any of those stereotypes)#and how the blight family represents unfair privilege so giving them white privilege (even if it doesn't exist in-universe) makes sense #tho i myself am white so i don't think i quite have anything to add to THAT particular discussion #but yea #eliot posts #toh #the owl house #amity blight #anyway i at least FULLY love when she's given her dad's nose in FANON

throughout the series of drake and josh it pretty consistently implies that josh nichols is a christian (josh peck is jewish) and in the finale of the series helen (played by yvette nicole brown, not jewish[?]) is portrayed as a practicing jew

#i dont have a problem w either of those things necessarily i just find it interesting #if i had to guess. drake and josh was a mainstream that didnt wanna touch on religion generally #but josh was kind of a dork and usually when josh's religious beliefs are implied it is in dorkish ways #such as praying and thanking the lord after he has his first kiss.#but since dan schneider is jewish perhaps he wanted to make helen have a jewish wedding in the finale?#not that there needs to be a reason. but u do notice occasional jewish-related jokes in d&j but none of them are what you could call #offensive. in good faith that is. 'eric is a pacifist' 'i thought he was jewish?' like come on #text post #i have been rewatching drake and josh recently and i have had so many thoughts #im almost done. i just have left that stupid dance episode that they premiered last for the stupid reason #of a special dance-themed premiere night in fall 2007. they premiered the third episode of icarly and a new zoey 101 on the same night #which i think is so stupid. they should've aired really big shrimp last. it messed w my understanding of the series at the time lol #i remember not really knowing that the show was ENDING. like i knew icarly was starting & miranda was doing that #i thought really big shrimp was like just another special like go hollywood.#and then like two days later they premiered the helicopter episode for some reason #and i was like why is drake not famous in this. he just had a number 1 song in a superbowl commercial #and then a month later the dance one. which. if anything is satisfying about that as a final episode it's just that #that unnamed girl from the blues brothers episode who is obsessed w drake shows up again and congratulates them #and the very final line of the series is 'who is she?' because. because really who IS she?#that's a funny enough throwback to wrap things up with i suppose #drake and josh wasn't a highly serialized show so i can see how they could air those after the intended finale and act like it didn't matte #but i have to tell you it did fuck with my brain a bit at the time. lol. i still think of those episodes as having 'happened' after #and on paramount plus those episodes are still placed after really big shrimp. the injustice #but thats kinda messy. what a weird way to end such an influential and popular sitcom #season 4 had a few lowpoints while still also having some VERY solid episodes.#idk. ill have to continue my series review another time im getting way too longwinded here #helen dubois is jewish

#toy txt post #i miss it i should play w her more often but it was going to be for a dnd thing that ive all but abandonded bc i feel like #i cant. do that but it sucks bc i had some cool fun concepts and characters but it was hard enough back then when i was just insecure and #knew nothing about dnd and was intimidated by the mechanics but wanted to try dming for some reason but now i just straight up dont know #what to do but i really enjoy those characters. i should just unlock the secret channelsand scrap the dnd game idea for now and keep the #concepts and im sure i could come up w something if i ever actually learned anything about that shit #anyway. my point being. im obsessed w my character i made up and you should be too cos its good shit #toxic anarchist half dragon demigod with authority issues whos an alloaro clown named Stupid Cupid.#i think her pronouns were whatever but also it/she? when i say toxic i mean it did have a bit of a Clown Cult.#Cupid i think is possibly its given name and Stupid was her clown ass addition and yes i do know of the song and yes it is on its playlist #obsessed w all the stupid overpowered characters i made in that universe. they were such good concepts. gulliver obviously. charybdis #silas (cupids father + previous (now deceased) god of chaos)#cupids mother who i dont think i had a name for yet but she was supposed to be kind of a neutral lawful (in a rules lawyering way)#moon paladin who hatefucked the god of chaos after failing to kill him which she was trying to do out of devotion to the moon #and she supposed to have what i can only describe as chainsaw powers? and she destroyed every gun in existence and killed anyone who knew #how to make them until there were no guns left bc silas kept being annoying w guns and was trying to use them on the moon. for reasons #so she really pissed him off and impressed him before she finally got to him and tried to kill him. and if she was even a minor god instead #of a 'mortal' it wouldve worked and thats the only reason he didnt die from her. and then her child. stupid cupid the clown #grew up and had issues and started a clown cult and wandered around usurping warlords and dictators before putting her aim on silas #and trying to kill him. but failing not bc she was mortal but bc he outsmarted it. but he couldbt bring himself to kill it so he had her #put to sleep for a thousand yrs until someone else killed him(he pissed off a stupid seagull druid who lured him into the path of Charybdis #who he'd ALSO pissed off and Charybdis mega killed him and then the gull druid was made the new god of chaos just to have someone fill the #roll but then they kind of suck at it? they did not want that much responsibility altho the immortality is nice. when they took over they #released cupid whos a bit of a legend but then the vibes are super weird bc cupid Definitely wants to usurp and take on the mantle of #chaos deity and gulliver idolizes her but doesnt feel great about just handing that over to it? and cupid has to grapple with not being the #one to kill silas. almost everyone she knew is dead. her mom isnt. the world has changed a lot. she finds out her cult is still going and #gets excited? but they have Changed. it disgusts her now. they are not the radical clowns she intended. the vibes are weird. she denounces #that and tries out piracy. she manages to get the moon paladin living chainsaw power?#despite not being aligned w their ideology at all. wow nepotism. then it was going to spiral into some fucking meta galactic shit and have #well. ran out of tags. anyway i miss this character i should figure out what im doing w this universe cos theres no way im dming rn 🙃

will forever think abt that girl i used to be friends with who when we were learning abt the holocaust in school she said she didn’t understand bcz “why would white ppl do that to other white ppl?”

finished spider gwen have many thoughts and opinions on it. first and foremost comics are dumb I don’t want to have to read some other comic to understand the one I’m reading or have to know caption americas backstory to keep up with spider woman. Doesn’t make sense. second biggest takeaway the face I made when they showed that mj and gloria share a bed
