so do the enma and wandroid tribes not have english summoning songs-
#puppy rambles#yo-kai watch#the summoning app in 3 is only in the japanese version. and the only summoning songs in blasters + 3 are the og tribes#(including wicked and also legendary)#i assume they have summoning songs. i mean i know they're super small but they logically have to have something right-#‚‚‚ what tribe is lord enma in blasters anyways. was the enma tribe introduced there or is he brave or smth-#i don't think the english version of the anime was consistently translating episodes enough at that point either so

The Wrath of Sekhmet is based on the 1999 film ‘The Mummy’ and follows the original story of Sekhmet to the best of my research abilities, but also includes highly fictionalised elements.
DEMO (01.09.23) | CHARACTER APPEARANCES
As the archivist of the Museum of Antiquities in Cairo, you’ve collected a lot of knowledge over the thirteen years you’ve worked there. Yet, there has been nothing that fascinated you more than the story of Sekhmet.
A goddess of love turned goddess of war with a bloodlust so deadly that her father, the sun god Ra, was forced to fashion a necklace that Hathor could wear in order to contain Sekhmet.
The necklace glittered with gold and diamonds, but it was the single ruby that sat nestled at her throat that was the real treasure.
Said to contain a drop of Ra’s blood, it was a gem so powerful that it could grant lesser creatures invulnerability when the necklace was worn.
And now, your brother thinks he’s found the legendary Temple of Sekhmet. A temple that was supposedly built to house the necklace.
This could be the adventure of a lifetime and you refuse to be left behind.
This is an 18+ wip due to violence, depictions of blood and gore, optional sexual content, death, elements of body horror, and abduction.
FEATURES
✧ Play as a female, male, or nonbinary mc with cis and trans options. Choose your pronouns and titles separately.
✧ Romance the suave archaeologist, the stoic leader, the bubbly best friend, or the calculating adventurer. Poly routes are available.
✧ Personality stats: sarcastic/genuine, stoic/emotional, reckless/cautious, grumpy/jovial, kind/indifferent, shy/bold.
✧ Skill stats: intelligence, charm, sword fighting, and agility.
✧ Set features of the mc: they’re at least half egyptian and as an archivist, mc is intelligent, studious, and knowledgable about history. While they can be grumpy and indifferent, there will not be the option to be unnecessarily cruel.
CHARACTERS OF INTEREST
Maddox [M]
The bane of your life and one of the only people you trust to always have your back. He’s more of a lover than a fighter and has a silver tongue that could get him out of any situation, but don’t underestimate his protectiveness over you. Older brother prerogative and all that.
Elijah/Elodie Caddel [M/F] [RO]
El is charismatic, quick-witted, and familiar with the temple of Sekhmet making them the perfect companion on your quest. However, for all their charm, they are notorious for keeping everyone but Aksel at a distance, so it is a surprise to all when they quickly seem to develop a deep fondness for you. As well as a wicked protective streak.
Menna Bakir [M/F/NB] [RO]
As a Medjai Chieftain, Menna is responsible for the lives of many. For that reason, they have learnt to show little emotion, although it is noted that they soften around animals and now it seems, you. Once their trust has been earned and they become more comfortable with your group, you’ll see a much more relaxed and even teasing side to them.
Nakia/Nubia Hassan [M/F] [RO]
N can be utterly ruthless when it comes to getting what they want for the museum, but with you they're almost always very bubbly and friendly. They're your childhood best friend and your biggest supporter, and without them, you wouldn't be taking this trip across the desert to discover the secrets that lie in wait.
Aksel Madsen [NB] [RO]
While they seem lazy and unbothered, it doesn’t take long for you to realise that there’s something not quite right about them. They’re too observant, too intelligent, and too calculating. Despite this, you wouldn’t class them as a bad person, especially not when you’ve seen the way they look out for El and, on occasion, you.

World-famous mime Marcel Marceau entertained global audiences on stage and screen for more than 60 years.
But a lesser-known fact about Marceau, who was Jewish, is that he rescued more than 70 Jewish children during the Holocaust as a member of the French resistance.
And now, a new play that focuses on this remarkable chapter of Marceau’s life is coming to a New York stage. “Marcel on the Train” follows Marceau as a young man living in Nazi-occupied France, and how he helped smuggle children from an orphanage in France to safety on the Swiss border — using his early attempts at pantomiming to do so.
“Marcel on the Train” is co-written by and will star Jewish actor Ethan Slater, who is best known for his Tony-nominated performance as the titular character in “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical.” Slater, 33, also played Boq Woodsman in the 2024 box office hit, “Wicked,” where he met his famous girlfriend, pop star Ariana Grande.
A production of the Classic Stage Company, “Marcel on the Train” will make its debut off-Broadway in February 2026 at the Lynn F. Angelson Theater at 136 East 13th St.
The play is being co-produced by Mitch Marois and Maxwell Beer, who produced “Maybe Happy Ending,” a musical currently on Broadway that just won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.

Jonathan Bailey is on a roll in 2025. After his stellar performance as Fiero in 2024’s Wicked, alongside Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, the Brigerton heartthrob is promoting the heart-pounding Jurassic World: Rebirth, releasing in theaters July 2, after being fresh off his run as Richard II on the West End.
And if that wasn’t enough of an impressive résumé, the 37-year-old Brit is now the face of Martini, a fitting title for the spritz lover.
While filming and vacationing in the picturesque Santa Cesarea Terme, Puglia, with family and friends, Bailey gave PEOPLE an exclusive interview on his latest ventures, his love for Italy and what it means to be the new “Martini Man.”
“It’s an honor to be the Martini man for 2025 this summer,” he began, “where we're inviting people, I think, to go 'off script' – which is, to make different choices and create space to be spontaneous and create moments that aren't prescribed or programmed in.”
Though the ethos of the brand is one that Bailey wholeheartedly indulges in, he’s also in touch with its Italian heritage, which he also grew up with. “I love Italy. I try to go twice a year,” the actor confessed. “I've just recently finished Richard II, and we did, like, 103 performances. I didn't miss a show, but I knew that the day after I finished, I'd go to Italy with my friends, and we went there and had a couple of weeks of just cycling around, going to beautiful places, eating amazing food, drinking Martini Bianco spritzers, and then at the end of that, we then had a day shoot in Salento, which is also where I love to go a couple times a year, and it felt amazing.”
Describing the country as elegant and sophisticated, Bailey gushed about his love for a good Spritz — “It's an elegant party in a sip,” he notes, — while shooting the Martini campaign in the breathtaking coastal town of Paletzo.
“We got there early in the morning, and it was incredibly quiet…the sea was lapping against the rocks,” mused Bailey. “The architecture is just completely beautiful. So to be able to make the most of that vista — it creates something which is cinematic. I think the campaign has a real sort of Italian wit and celebrates a sort of cinematic language as well, which I enjoyed.”
As a legendary Italian vermouth and aperitivo brand that celebrates old-fashioned charm and The Golden Age of Hollywood, following behind spokespersons including George Clooney and Charlize Theron, Martini couldn’t have chosen a better person who appreciates the merging of the generations through class and style.
“When you are working on stuff about Martini, of course, you want it to be meaningful and to make sense, and this did from the get-go,” Bailey added. “It felt too much of a dream partnership.”
Bailey further emphasized the versatility of a well-made Martini Spritz, whether in a custom-tailored suit or “jumping into the sea and coming out and having a packet of chips,” the spirit is made for those unforgettable summer nights, pairing well with a beautiful backdrop.
“It is the taste of a new kind of summer,” Bailey explains. “It feels like you're in a montage when you drink it, so whatever you are eating with it or whatever you're experiencing, it just makes sense.”
Following his mini vacation, Bailey notes hurrying back home to spend loads of time with family and friends to “hoover up” as much culture as possible, including all the blockbuster films on his to-watch list.
“I'm so excited to go and see Fantastic Four, Superman, F1,” says Bailey, and of course adds his forthcoming film, Jurassic World: Rebirth. When discussing the impact the film will make, as the latest installment to its fan-favorite predecessors, Bailey sees it as impactful to moviegoers as it was to the crew who worked on it.
“It pays such respect to so many films that were so formative toward us growing up,” says the actor, who plays Dr. Henry Loomis in the sci-fi action film. “It's a love letter and an ode to wonder and cinematic awe. And there's nods to not just Jaws, and obviously the original Jurassic Park, but The Goonies, Gremlins – there's so many.”
The star describes the film as “nostalgic without being derivative,” and bringing back the “scares, thrills, and wonder” that many of us enjoy, not just from the nostalgic thriller movies from our childhood, but also the present genre as a whole.
“To be a part of a film which is going to get everyone into the cinema 50 years after Steven Spielberg invented... Jaws, I feel incredibly proud of that,” says Bailey, who goes on to applaud his co-stars Scarlett Johannsen and Mahershala Ali.
“The only thing better than being a part of a Jurassic film is being able to make amazing friends and to have amazing creative partnerships along the way. So yeah, it's been a pinch-meet year, really.”
Jurassic World: Rebirth opens on July 2.

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Teaser post for SoulHate!, a Klance Soulmate!AU I started writing back when Voltron: Legendary Defender first graced Netflix in 2016. To be honest, I never thought this fic would see the light of day since I dropped it after inspiration left me. But, I am currently experiencing a renaissance with my writing and falling back in love with my craft. Writing used to be one of my favorite hobbies and somewhere along the way I forgot that. Now, I am determined to see these nameless fanfictions within my drafts through to the end. The first to get such treatment is SoulHate!, but believe me, there is more to come.
This post will provide you with a lot of insight into this world I’ve created for our favorite red/blue pair. You’ll learn about the rules of the universe and what challenges await our characters. Of course, it wouldn’t be a teaser if I didn’t include a small excerpt from the fic itself so I’ve tucked that below as well! I’ve also included when you can read more, because honey, I am done with more than half of the story already and I want you to see it!
ABOUT THE WORLD
SoulHate! is a first-words-tattoo soulmate AU. If that doesn’t make sense, I understand! When Soulmate!AU’s first started to circulate tumblr the rules were vast and ever changing. With this particular AU, I thought soulmates were great, BUT what if we added some extra spice. This spice included soul tattoos, which branded our OTP upon puberty. The soul tattoo, instead of being a piece of art, would instead be the first words their soulmate would ever speak to them. The soul tattoo would vary depending on location, font, and size. Also another tidbit–they hurt. The soul tie that binds our pair will reflect pain onto their other half from any number of stressors.
If it doesn’t make much sense here, that is perfectly fine! Everything will be revealed organically as the story goes on. Oh, and here’s your warning: SoulHate! is as Slow Burn as they come. If you’re here for a quick Soulmate fix, you have scrolled too far. BUT, if you are strong enough to last on Klance crumbs alone on our way to the wicked witch’s house, then look no further. This budding romance between enemies will make you laugh and warm your heart all at the same time.
EXCERPT FROM THE WORK
Lance looked outside where his eyes caught a large truck moving slowly down the street. He saw brake lights—but by the time it left his vision, there was steam in his face. Lance rinsed off the sauce and lathered it up with a bead of dish soap. Once he was finished he did the same with the fork he used and put them both in the drying rack. Two minutes of his life—wasted. Now that he was fed—it was time to find his phone. The last time he remembered having it was on his way home from shopping earlier today. He was Googling the name of a new song for his mom. After that? Nothing. So it was probably somewhere stupid like in the side door or stuck underneath the seat. Lance walked out of the kitchen and gave the front door a wide berth. That end table wasn’t going to get him a second time. He looked around for the key dish—a weird upside down seashell decoration that his mom kept from the beach she and dad were married on. There was a key to the house, a key to his dad’s car, and of course, right at the bottom of all the junk in there, were his mother’s car keys. Before opening the door—Lance looked at the state of himself.
Wrinkled jeans, a navy blue T-shirt, gray socks. He basically took off his shoes and took a pain-induced nap…coma…something to that effect. Either way, Lance opened the front door and walked out onto the cement driveway. Upon noticing the chill, he made his way quickly to the passenger side door. When he opened it he saw a charging cord, the thermoses his mother packed for their day trip and…a whole lot of not-his-phone. He checked underneath the seat next and started patting around his back pocket for his phone to open up the flashlight feature. He felt like a primitive being standing there in the dark, hands blindly searching for a device with a built in light. When that yielded no results, he opened the back door and climbed in. Maybe it could have slid when they parked?
Lance looked down under the seats and found one, his phone and two, a forgotten bag of fruit. It must have rolled. Lance pocketed his phone and pulled the plastic bag of apples up onto the seat. He looked outside the car window for a moment. That truck from earlier was parked in front of that house with the SOLD sign displayed. There was a green Subaru hitched to the back of the moving truck. A navy blue Ford truck was already filling the cracked driveway. Lance narrowed his eyes as someone got out of the Ford. Who in their right mind moved in this late? Lance shrugged it off and pocketed his phone. He gripped the bag of apples tightly. Now to get these bad boys inside. Lance picked up the bag and threw it over his shoulder. And only when he did that did he notice the tear in the bag. Lance dropped the bag and looked around—one, two…he counted four apples rolling their way to freedom. Lance ran after them as they traveled down the slope of his neighborhood. Of course this would happen to him. In his good socks. On a chilly night. When people were around to see him.
Lance caught up to two apples, which were caught in someone’s uneven lawn. He picked them up and looked around quickly. The third one disappeared—probably rolled off the curb and into a storm drain. But the fourth one was the fastest. It had already made its way to the moving truck by the time he got halfway down the street. He booked it, all the time wondering if one measly apple was really worth all this strife. He could feel the thunder of his footsteps, the sound of his breathing, could see something in his peripheral—
WHAM!
Lance hit the concrete so hard the wind got knocked out of him. Not only that, but he could feel the telltale burning sensation of a scrape on his elbow and right ankle. Like he’d skidded a little on the way down. Not to mention the almost heartbeat like thump in his chin—like he’d been punched.
Lance opened his eyes, and they immediately locked onto…a head of black hair. Lance looked around them where cardboard boxes, a cell phone, and a pair of earbuds were spread around their crash site. He hadn’t even seen the guy, where did he come from?
Lance could have sworn he heard something come from below.
“What?” Lance said, breathlessly.
“I said, ‘Ouch, my fucking head.’”
Lance’s eyes went wide and his heart sank. He crawled backwards and tripped over himself to get back onto his feet. He needed to get out of there. Now. But his legs couldn’t carry him fast enough—it was like he was running in a dream. He felt his heartbeat in his chest, the cold sweat forming on his neck, and every panicked breath from his mouth. When he got to his mother’s car, he grabbed the half-empty bag of apples and slammed the front door behind him. If he woke someone up, oh well. Lance booked it to his bedroom after dropping the apples on the floor. When he closed the door behind him he was able to breathe.
Until he looked down at his soul tattoo…
Nothing.
Lance patted his jeans, prodding the tattoo on his hip hoping that it would start up again. Hoping that the unbearable pain would return.
But it didn’t.
WHEN TO EXPECT MORE
I had planned on finishing the series before posting the first chapter–but I am too excited to keep everything to myself. I will be posting the first chapter of SoulHate! next Saturday!

Fic writer meme: 2, 4, 81
2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”
omg so I think the coolest one was with edwina sharma in my first multichapter bridgerton fic, the viscountess who vexes me. for those who don't know, the tl;dr of s2 is a doomed love triangle between edwina and kate sharma (sisters) and anthony bridgerton who pursues edwina because he doesn't love her and is terrified of being in love. the fic I wrote was a kate/anthony engagement fic because in the show they skip over that completely and jump straight to the epilogue when they're married. I always thought given the circumstances that edwina would not have attended kate and anthony's wedding - I know that I wouldn't have if I were ever in that position. but the more I wrote of edwina, including her interactions with anthony now he was engaged to her sister, the more I started rethinking my plan. edwina was not meant to be in a lot of scenes in this fic, and she's not in loads, but she does feature somewhat at the wedding and other ceremonies (mehndi and pithi) not because I planned it but because edwina just would not leave my mind. plus I found her dynamic with anthony fascinating to write. that being said, I know that most of the fandom dislikes her immensely, so I don't write as much of her as I would like.
4. what is the plot bunny you've been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven't written it yet and experience deep existential dread?
okay okay so there's this legendary bollywood movie that is an absolute classic - kabhi khushi kabhie gham (translating as "sometimes in happiness, sometimes in sadness") and I wrote my idea for a kate/anthony au based on the plot. I was a genius about it tho because I reversed the gender roles. in the movie, rahul is the adopted son of a rich guy who falls for anjali, a working class girl, and then rahul's father doesn't accept him and refuses to give his blessing for their marriage. I dreamed up an au with kate sharma as rahul and anthony as anjali, not just because of the gender switch here but also the change in kate being from the upper class instead of anthony. my main thing with this is that I have 3 active wips currently and I don't want to add to that pile when I'm barely updating my current wips as it is. not to mention I think I'd need to watch the source material (both bridgerton and k3g) to fully immerse myself in this au and idk. the stars just haven't quite aligned yet.
plus there's another movie au I'm obsessed with but idk how to write it - and that's wicked! in my mind, kate is fiyero, anthony is elphaba and simon basset is glinda, with a very homoerotic friendship between anthony and simon (just like the show lbr) and kate/anthony endgame. my whole thing is subverting the roles characters have in the original source material because I find their roles in aus far more interesting in exploring underrated elements of characters - like anthony's more playful or sassy or bashful side in elphaba, simon's mean girl potential or kate being a female casanova. and also then I'm taking away what previously felt like integral parts of said characters like anthony being wealthy - and it still makes sense character wise. I feel like all my stuff is character driven, so having aus as a way of character exploration is fun, but I guess the reason it fills me with existential dread starting any new wip is literally because I know it will snowball, that's what happened with my last three fics lmao.
81. if you could go back in time and give your younger self a piece of writing advice specific to you, what would it be?
oh god. see I'm tempted to say just don't write as much smut as you did, but honestly I don't think I'd have been able to learn to get good at it. and I think you have to be bad at smut to then learn to be good at it, at least for writers starting out as teenagers or whatever.
maybe I would say that just because you regard something as practice writing doesn't mean you shouldn't consider fic as sharpening your craft or being a better storyteller. I feel like I only really started having conversations about specific storytelling techniques very late into my fanfic journey, and that was such a shame. and I guess advice for me specifically is that when you get an idea write it down stat, because your brain sucks and you won't remember.

"One of the finest of his generation of critics"—Kieron Gillen (Die, The Wicked + The Divine) Fifty-two essays composing the very best of veteran video game developer and writer Mathew Kumar's "Every Game I've Finished" project, published for the first time in print with commentary from the author. Releasing October 21st, 2024 in print, and available for pre-order now for Kindle or as epub/pdf. Games covered include legendary icons (Wizardry: Proving Grounds Of The Mad Overlord), indie darlings (Papers, Please), beloved obscurities (Attack of the Friday Monsters!), Triple-A franchises (Mass Effect) and modern classics (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild). Essays take the form of everything from straight critique to strategy guide, and represent an overview of the state of the art in video games across its history distilled into ten years of highs and lows. A book that takes video games as seriously as any art form and as deserving of collected criticism. “Mathew’s project, to finish the games he plays, and to write about those he finishes, can be simply stated but it represents a noble act of critical commitment. When taken in concert, these reviews –– unflinchingly acerbic, truthfully stated, and deeply unconcerned with external factors of fashion or consensus –– provide both a diary of criticism, and a long view of the judders and lunges of this still-evolving medium; A charter, too, for what we might cherish, and what we might disdain, in this emergent art form.”–Simon Parkin (A Game of Birds and Wolves, Death By Video Game)
---
Phew! When I announced exp. 2601 I mentioned it was the ten year anniversary of Every Game I've Finished in 2024 and that it might be important, and here it is, a celebration of my last ten years of writing that you can buy as a book that you can own in your house. I didn't originally plan it this way! I intended to release Every Game I've Finished 14>24 as a (somewhat) quick and dirty ebook release, and I did the majority of the work at the beginning of the year pre-exp. 2601, but after realising it would only take a "little" more work to self-publish the book physically I decided if I was going to vanity press, I might as well do it for real.
Of course, it's taken a lot longer than I expected, but I finally have a proof in my hand that I'm satisfied with, and it really does look very nice.
Vanity press or not, there are a few vectors to this release. Firstly, if you've ever enjoyed any of my writing of the past ten years, here's a nice way to support me and either get a lovely physical or handy digital edition. Secondly, if you haven't, here's a way to immediately get fifty-two of the best articles I've written which you can peruse at your leisure.
Thirdly, I just honestly think that there should be a culture of criticism around games just as there is for literally every other art form, and I think that this book existing makes as much sense as, say Clive James On Television, so I'm just fucking going for it.
That all said, Every Game I've Finished 14>24 is being released on October 21st 2024, and is being released in print on Amazon. I'm no happier about this than you are, but it's the simplest method. I would love to offer copies here on Ko‑fi for launch day, but they (sneakily) give author copies a long lead time and (of course) it's impossible to compete with Amazon's postage rates.
Amazon also--for bafflingly unclear reasons--won't allow me to offer a pre-order of the print edition, so please mark the date in your calendar or follow me on Bluesky or (spit) Twitter if you want to get a copy.
However! If you're just looking for the ebook, you can pre-order it on Kindle or epub/pdf right now! Subscribers will receive their shop discount on the digital edition, so don't forget you can support me for just $1 a month. This release has been, and I know it's a cliche, a real labour of love, just as Every Game I've Finished has been a labour of love for video games (even if it doesn't always read like it.) I can't wait for you to get your hands on it, and I'm so thankful for all of you who have joined me on this journey.

Ever After High Pokemon Teams - Raven Queen
Part 2 of my headcanons on what Pokemon teams and Trainer Classes Ever After High characters would have if they lived in the Pokemon world! Let's get is started!
Raven Queen
Daughter of Eris Queen, a.k.a. The Evil Queen, Raven has had to fight against her mother’s legacy for her whole. From her mother who wanted her to accomplish the dream she never reached, to her peers to thought she would follow her mother’s footsteps a run Team Queen, everyone seemed to expect the worse of her.
Raven refused to give up and decided to follow her passion of performance and became a Pokemon Coordinator! This surprised everyone, especially Apple who always thought that Raven would be a trainer like her mother and that they would carry on their mothers’ rivalry.
But Raven has no interest in carrying on her mother’s legacy - she is more interested in creating her own! And that is just what she is gonna do with her Pokemon by her side.
Trainer Class: Pokemon Coordinator
Raven's team is made up of Pokemon that either are misjudged because of their appearance or reputation, or just plain look wicked cool. I would imagine that she would not care that much about having a balanced team since she is not competing in battles. Her performances are more focused on looking cool that "pretty".
Draco the Dragapult
Moves:
Phantom Force
Dragon Rush
Dragon Darts
Lock-On
Raven's main partner Pokemon, Draco wows the crowd with his speed and majesty. Draco has been with Raven through thick and thin ever since Raven found him as a Dreepy wandering around her mother's dungeon. At first, Draco was very weak and scared, but with Raven's and the team's support, Draco has become a strong and speedy hitter and performer!
I always knew that I wanted Raven to have a Dragon Type Pokemon as a referance to her pet dragon Nevermore and I had initially had Hydreigon as her starter, but decided that the Dragapult line fitted Raven better due to the story of Dreepy starting out weak but getting stronger and eventually becoming a strong Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon.
Midnight the Umbreon
Moves:
Dark Pulse
Swift
Moonlight
Confuse Ray
Raven's secondary Partner, Midnight loves to show off how brightly he shines and lights up the lives of those closest to him. Midnight was given to Raven as an Eevee from her father and in very loyal to Raven and is incredibly protective of his trainer - Apple never understands why Midnight is wary of her but somehow loves Dexter!
I definitely wanted to give Raven a Dark Type Pokemon. I settled on Umbreon because it looks a bit like a dog and I thought is was a cute reference to Raven's pet puppy Prince that her mother turned into a Bone Rat in the books. And also because Raven would definitely have a Pokemon that evolved via Friendship. So Umbreon was perfect!
Lita the Gothitelle
Moves:
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Hypnosis
Shadow Ball
Raven met Lita as a Gothita and was immediately impressed by her sass and love of performing. Lita loves creating psychic shows for the audience that tends to instill both awe and fear everyone who sees them. Lita does not take any crap from anyone and has no patience for nonsense.
The Gothitelle line was an easy one for me to include for Raven's team. Not only because of the whole "goth" aspect, but also because Psychic Types would also fit Raven's vibe.
Nina the Nidoqueen
Moves:
Poison Jab
Earth Power
Crunch
Superpower
A proud superpower who takes no shit, Nina - as she loves to be called on stage - Nina the Poison Queen, is a rough and tumble beast who loves to show off her strength. While initially a shy little Nidoran♀, Raven helped Nina conquer her stage fright and show off how cool and powerful she truly is!
I thought it would be cool for Raven to have a Pokemon that literally has "queen" in it's name and here she is! Plus, I feel like a Poison Type Pokemon really fits with Raven's aesthetic.
Jaws the Aerodactyl
Moves:
Stone Edge
Fly
Iron Head
Strength
Despite Jaws's fierce appearance and scary name, he is really a sweetheart who is still adjusting to the new world he has found himself living in now. Jaws does not like scaring people and Pokemon because he finds that they will often run away from him. What he does like though, is showing off how high he can fly and how cool his moves and Mega Evolution are! He loves his trainer and his team who see him as the sweetheart he really is!
I felt like Raven needed a Flying Type, but I like to avoid repeating Types when I can, so this one was a bit tricky. But I eventually hit gold with Aerodactyl! Not only is it a strong and cool looking Pokemon that did not share a Type with any of Raven's other Pokemon, but it even looks a bit like a dragon!
Bella the Granbull
Moves:
Play Rough
Fire Fang
Scary Face
Payback
Raven met Bella as a Snubbull and the two had an instant connection. Bella's fierce and intimidating face often had other Pokemon running away from and not wanting to play with her - just like Raven when she was young! Raven offered Bella a spot on her team and Bella leap right into Raven's arms, happy to have friends at last! While initially unsure about Contest, Bella quickly found her footing in performances and a gentle giant and loves showing that you can be kind and strong at the same time!
I thought it would make sense for Raven to have a Fairy Type to round out her team and the story of Snubbull and Granbull looking fierce and scary but really being timid and scared really reminded me of Raven's struggles, so I thought they fit.
And there it is! Another full team of Ever After Pokemon! Feel free to tell me waht you think and I'll post the next teams as soon as I can!

Double question
For Solus - why do you like Berry so much? He's kind of average or always out of the race.
Eldora - same question but Bowman
Loooooong post that you can read or ignore
Anon, I'm going to direct you to my about me section because I think that explains it pretty well.
In all honesty, I want you to just dig through this season's races. Keep an eye on him. He can qualify dead fucking last and end up in top 10. The biggest compliment a driver can get from me is "holy fuck look at him dance" because this man passes so beautifully it's not even funny.
Without bias, I can confidently say almost none of his wrecks are his fault Austin Cindric I am looking at you with Mild Disappointment (a few of them are on him, like spinning solo in the lead). He's a hell of a calculating driver (does that count as a pun) and should be appreciated for not driving like some of the more seasoned drivers on the track.
Also he has the most friend shaped smile and I think he should be given one million hugs and a vacation away from near Blaney levels of The Horrors.
Truly, the Junior Curse exists and persists.
Do not walk into my home and insult my boy. Also uhhh brace yourself for Eldora. Maybe sit down. It's gonna be brutal.
Cheers!
-Mod Solus
· · ─────── · ·
If you even bothered to skim Bowman's Wikipedia page you would know Bowman has nine national, NATIONAL, USAC quarter midget championships, a total of 165 A-main wins, in six years. By 2010 he was racing in the Pro Cup series, which is basically yesterday's ARCA West, where he got Rookie of The Year, two ARCA wins in 2011, four in 2012 (including Iowa my beloved), between then and 2017 he paid his dues driving shit boxes in the top three series, whereupon NASCAR Jesus himself, Dale Fastestfucker Jr, graced Bowman with the privilege of filling his shoes out of respect for filling his seat when Jr had to sit out because of concussions, which tells us Jr saw potential, and 8 wins and the ability to drive from the back to a top ten any time he has to, shows he's lived up to expectations. if he's good enough for Jr, he's good enough for me. Bowman's biggest handicaps are the Earnhardt curse, where you can have the highest of highs flak gunned away (usually with a career derailing injury sprinkled on top), leaving you with no stats to back up your skill, and Hendrick only giving the fourth car the other three's sloppy seconds for parts, and a crew chief who can't build a setup to qualify with to save a kitten's soul from Ty Gibbs.
Josh Berry is a similar story, he worked as a banker who met Jr simracing, impressed him enough that Jr kickstarted his career, and once the ball was rolling used his talents to hone his craft and earn rides to through to the top, wicked stats in a late model, hasn't translated to Cup because while he was filling in for Bowman his goal was to keep the car clean not win races, then he drove for Dead Man Walking Inc. before finally getting to the LEGENDARY Wood Brothers, who haven't been relevant on a 1.5 mile in decades, BUT THE FUCKER WON ANYWAY BECAUSE HE'S THAT GOOD! Good accomplishments in the past, promising career ahead, with a potential to get the Wood Brothers their first Championship, how can you NOT root for him?!?!?!?!
In conclusion, you have no eye for true wheelmen, this is NASCAR, as much as y'all hate to admit it, the car matters as much as the driver, and if the driver cannot get a car that outdoes the one next to them, the best they can do is Chastain/Hocevar around and hope to get lucky, or use some old school brains and actually drive the car like they used to in the old days where it took skill to maneuver a shit box around a monster track. Bitch.
-Mod Eldora.
PS. Praise Dale. Raise Hell
PPS. My plan for reuniting the country is as follows; Praise Hell, Raise Dale

Celtic Frost: Morbid Tales (1984)
Before I get into the subject at hand, I just want to point out what this super-deluxe vinyl reissue (*) of Celtic Frost's once-underrated, even occasionally derided, debut says about how humble beginnings don't preclude anyone from achieving a legendary destiny ...
When Switzerland’s most renowned metallic export unleashed Morbid Tales, in November of 1984, there was no way of anticipating the massive influence it would exert upon the evolution of extreme metal -- especially as that influence only gradually manifested itself over the ensuing decades.
But then, 40 years ago, vocalist/guitarist Tom Warrior and bassist Martin Ain (plus session drummer Stephen Priestly) had only just decided to "upgrade" their moniker from the none-too-subtle Hellhammer, because they felt it no longer represented their grander musical ambitions for Celtic Frost.
Ambitions that, to be fair, would soon pale in comparison to ensuing efforts like To Mega Therion and Into the Pandemonium, and were only discernible as such to those who'd experienced the raw satanic savagery of Helhammer's Apocalyptic Raids EP.
Listeners armed with this comparison could discern the obvious improvement to the playing, songwriting, and production displayed by the 'hell's throat' introduction of "Human" and the relentlessly-paced perfection of "Into the Crypts of Rays." (**)
Next up, the gradually accelerating "Visions of Mortality" described a failed occult ritual, while the grinding doom of all-time-classic "Procreation (Of the Wicked)" (based on the parable of Cain and Abel) has of course been covered by numerous bands, most famously Brazil's Sepultura.
Moving on, Fischer resumed his mystical incantations (aided and abetted by guest narrator Hertha Ohling) over the familiarly metallic "Return to the Eve," before tossing the heavy metal manual out the window for the tortured moans, warped violins (played by the improbably named Wolf Bender), and eerie bells of "Danse Macabre."
Finally, the original six-track, 25-minute mini-album (***) wrapped things up with "Nocturnal Fear's" complex blend of warp-speed and mid-paced head-banging, interrupted by a disorienting breakdown that echoed "Danse Macabre's" violated violin.
As I mentioned above and also explained in an anniversary piece for Loudwire, Celtic Frost's innovations on Morbid Tales' would help define a distinctly European extreme metal aesthetic, both intersecting with and running parallel with American thrash.
Moreover, as I pointed out in the All-Music Guide, Warrior and Ain's leather-clad, corpse-painted posing would, like their music, be absorbed, digested, and regurgitated by manic hordes of disillusioned European (and especially Scandinavian) youths forming their own death and black metal bands in years to come.
* The reissue's accoutrements included 180-gram vinyl, a bonus disc housing four rehearsal recordings, two posters, and a stunning 36-page booklet full of vintage photos and liner notes from Kerrang! scribe Xavier Russell.
** The song was fittingly inspired by Middle Ages serial killer, Gilles de Rais, and I do believe that's Tom's first, patented "OOOH!" at the 2:11 mark.
*** American metal-heads who picked up Metal Blade's first domestic editions of Morbid Tales got a little more for their money, in the shape of two added cuts found on the Emperor’s Return EP: "Dethroned Emperor" and misplaced title track "Morbid Tales."
More Celtic Frost: Emperor’s Return EP, To Mega Therion, Into the Pandemonium, Vanity/Nemesis; plus Hellhammer’s Apocalyptic Raids EP, "Blood Insanity"; Triptykon’s Eparistera Daimones, Melana Chasmata.

Welcome to Chicken Island
Sorry for the long wait for another one of my Chicken Run posts, but at least late is better than never. Now that Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget has been streaming on Netflix for the last few weeks, I hope my next few posts of this franchise doesn't include too many spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen this wonderful sequel yet.
Anyway let's start at the beginning, when we hear our charming rooster voicing to us the memories of the first film in the form of what seems like a bedtime story. At first you might think he's talking to the audience watching the memories as the story is told. In his exact words, it goes like this:
"There was this farmer, see? And she absolutely hated chickens. Kept them locked up like prisoners. I guess you could say she had a real "axe" to grind. Got herself a machine that turned chickens into pies. But what she didn't plan on was going toe to toe with a certain freedom-fighting chick. She was fierce, fearless, and wanted one thing and one thing only - freedom. She pulled us all together and gave us the wings to fly right out of that hen-hole. She got every chicken out of there. And got rid of that wicked farmer to boot."

But later, after we see the newspaper article about the Tweedy farm explosion, we learn just who Rocky is really telling the story to. And among other things, we also learn a few other things about Rocky and Ginger after their past experiences. Those discoveries make themselves known as soon as Ginger asks the rooster if bedtime stories might be a bit premature at the moment. Rocky retaliates by saying that no one's never too young to learn where they came from. They both happily look at who, or what, Rocky was telling the story to - a precious egg laying in a cozy nest.
Yes, it's true. Rocky and Ginger are not boyfriend and girlfriend anymore. Now our beautiful feathered couple are happily married as husband and wife AND they're expecting a baby 🐓💍🐔. At this point, there's no telling when the egg will hatch but we do know it's going to happen any day now and soon, Rocky and Ginger will also be parents 🥚.

Ginger then heads outside their house with Rocky following right behind her. She tells her husband that their days in the past are over and they've got their happy ending. In fact, they're living in it. Our happily married couple then gaze out into the horizon looking at the tranquil village that all the free chickens have built over the last few years since their daring and risky escape from Tweedy's Farm. Much like a king and queen surveying their kingdom since Ginger is the leading hen and with Rocky as her forever mate now, he is the leading rooster as well.

As we look around the village, we see that all the chickens have built their own comfortable homes, much better compared to the huts they used to live in. Life on the island is good as it can be, especially for a few other chicken friends of ours. Bunty grows all the fruits and vegetables they could eat, much better than the chicken feed they used to eat. Mac's inventions made their lives much easier. Fowler is pretty much enjoying his retirement from being the leading rooster but still likes to talk about his days in the RAF. Babs continues to knit as she always does. As for the other hens, they pretty much do their own thing enjoying their freedom, not having a single worry in the world. Hard to believe that this opening scene in the village took about six months to make.

In fact, their new life is so perfect that Ginger believes that now is time to put the past behind them. Confused, Rocky questions his wife about this and she refers to the one wall in their house covered in pictures and newspaper clippings - most about the legendary explosion at Tweedy's Farm and one about Rocky's escape from the circus along with his old poster. Our couple head back inside looking at that very wall. Rocky indignantly reminds Ginger that these memories are their glory days and it's how they are. Our lovely hen scoffs at this, stating that it's who they were. Holding onto her husband's arm, she reminds him that they went through that dreadful past so their baby doesn't have to.

Rocky thinks about this for a moment. Our handsome rooster then admits to his wife that she's right. He then goes over to the wall and rips off his old circus poster; he would clear the rest of it later. At this point, both husband and wife agree that from now on, their only mission is to keep their baby safe. Our two married chickens gaze lovingly at their precious egg still laying in its nest, wondering when it's going to hatch. Though they won't have to wait much longer 😉.

This time around, the GC are understandably in awe of the effects created by the legendary Tom Savini and his team.
