Today Rose gave the Fourteenth Doctor a t-shirt that simply said “Spiders Georg.” He’s got no idea what it means, but it’s a gift from his favorite niece so of course he’s going to wear it.

oh btw Gravity Falls also did sibling rivalry and the whole golden child and scapegoat dynamic a lot better.

Stan was the scapegoat, the troublemaker, the good-for-nothing. just like Catra, he was the one who didn't try enough at school and who constantly caused mayhem.

and Ford was the golden child, the gifted kid, the smart twin. just like Adora, he followed rules and had ambitions set by his parents, but he also had a desire to deviate from the norm and try something new.

but the difference here is that their flaws were balanced out.

Stan was jealous of Ford and saw himself as dumb and unworthy, but he still deeply cared about Ford. unlike Catra, Stan didn't take their falling out as an opportunity to torment Ford as much as possible.

when Ford called Stan after several years of them being apart, Stan still went to see him. and after Ford got sucked into the rift, Stan worked tirelessly to bring him back.

Catra on the hand? she was the one who willingly opened a rift so that Adora would die. when Adora needed her help, Catra abandoned her and then cried about Adora not choosing her over the safety of the entire world.

Stan may have been mad at Ford and he may have been jealous, but he never let that dictate his actions. he was a con artist and a criminal, he was a bit grumpy, but he wasn't a toxic person. at the end of the day, he cared more about his family than anything else.

and the whole "they both made mistakes" worked in this situation because Ford wasn't perfect either and he had actual flaws that played a role in his falling out with Stan.

I think a really underrated character duo in gravity falls is Dipper and Stan. Like one, I think they are way more similar than people give them credit for. Like Dipper is definitely the one who feels like the ‘inferior’ twin (internally on his part), something reflected in Stan. Also Dipper is generally pretty cunning and willing to throw punches in a Stan-way, you can see Stan rubbing off on him as the show progresses. Dipper in the Stan costume, and that one scene where Stan and Dipper both cross their fingers at the same time for the same promise, both live in my head rent free. In my heart of hearts I think Dipper picks up a bit of Stans con-man tricks in the future (and Mabel goes on some bonding missions w/ Ford, but this post isn’t abt them). Also I just want to say I bet Dipper reminded Stan of a young Ford and that informed some of their early dynamic. Anyway bye just needed this brainworm out

Do you think that the ‘10 years older’ Vlad from TUE would’ve been more accepting towards Dani if circumstances ever allowed them to meet? (Whether it be Vlad creating her at his point in time a decade later or Dani having gone back time then wander through the ghost zone and then finding him like Danny did or something else)

Yes. Yes I do. I definitely think TUE Vlad should have at least tried to recreate/resurrect Danny (I mean, why wouldn't he, given literally everything we know about Vlad and that situation?) and if Danielle was the end result of that, I think this version of Vlad who has lost literally everything would be more than happy to pretend like nothing is wrong or ever went wrong in his life alongside his obsessively carefully crafted DNA-patch job/Frankenstein's monster daughter.

All of that being said, I honestly prefer the latter option, no matter how many hoops one would have to jump through to make it work. I'm a BIG fan of using time travel to allow canon Dani to find acceptance from Vlad during different stages of his life, whether it be TUE Vlad who's had years to marinate in grief from losing everything, or a much younger fresh-out-of-the-hospital Vlad who really needed a positive presence in his life.

i mean—ekko is traumatized, hypervigilant, minorly paranoid, a tad bit narcissistic (that’s just a headcanon that’s somewhat accepted by the fandom based off the game and some of his voice notes yall not the show) & jinx is emotionally stunted, has a codependent bond w her father figure, has various mental illnesses that give her hallucinations and mild psychosis, no impulse control, suicidal thoughts, hypervigilance, hyperactivity, delusion, nightmares, and rapid speaking patterns…

but making them have wildly uncomfortable interactions that stem from ‘i have no friends’ jinx and ‘how do i interact w u???’ ekko. truly the funniest thing.

that little sad man is trying. so hard. he rlly is. is this a slow burn? yeah. are there still soft moments? also yeah. i’m not a monster. that being said sometimes ur gonna look at them n go. ‘this is ur version of slow burn eclipse?’ and considering how many ‘one step forward, two steps back’ situations they have the answer is yes.

Play the event. It has the best LoV filler in terms of being close to MVA

It starts with a simple 'LoV has to save some random PLF person' and by the end of it Shigaraki just spawns at the mere mention of controlling the drone being like playing a game

And then Tomura got them all sushi. Again.

I missed classic LoV events so having this with Toga who fights Ochako was the best surprise out of it

the YBC commentary with Pete and Patrick is largely so silly and unserious and very typical of the dorky kind of way their commentaries usually go but that moment re: Alone Together where they talk about locations and Patrick starts stammering really badly and just will not outright say that they put him in a hospital chapel. like Pete has to jump in and say no yeah that was the chapel of the hospital it was actually a hospital chapel. that's an absolutely insane moment to me
