THIS. “Hot in such an honest and pure way” is so accurate. We see passionate kisses, we see sweet tender kisses, and it’s evident after they’re married that they have an active sex life, but the most we see of it is the scenes where they’re cuddling in bed (and the moments leading up to the first time they have sex and the morning after). And I don’t need to see more than the kisses and the cuddles. The way they talk about their love for each other, and the way they express that love for each other (physically and other different ways) combined with their natural sizzling chemistry is all I need to be drawn into and invested in their relationship.

Of course I trust you. And I respect you more than anyone else I’ve ever met. And you know if I do get angry, it’s only because I have never opened up to somebody so much in my whole life. And it hurts me when I feel like that trust isn’t returned.

Something I realized I love about them is that even though they've had plenty of passionate kisses where you can clearly see their desire for each other, and they've had moments when they couldn't keep their hands off each other, so many of their kisses are like in this gifset; full of affection and tenderness. These are the moments that give me butterflies. They're so intimate but not sexually charged. Don't get me wrong, I like the passionate ones, too. I've seen gifsets from eps I haven't seen yet, like the morning after they slept together for the first time. And when they go back to work after their honeymoon and they jump each other in the elevator bc they can't wait to be alone together again... Those are fun and cute scenes. But the times where they exchange these intimate, affectionate, and tender kisses is what draws me into their romance and love. Even their little "hello" and "see you later" kisses linger just a bit longer than a normal peck.

I actually can't think of another TV couple who kiss this way and so often. If I want to compare them to other TV couples I love, John and Aeryn honestly have too many passionate kisses and not enough kisses where they linger and take their time. Paul and Jamie have both, but not as many as Lois and Clark. With Paul and Jamie it's all the ways they touch each other that do it for me. It was kind of the same with Henry and Elizabeth, too. Luke and Lorelai almost never kissed. They kissed like 4 times that I can remember lol. Tony and Angela's kisses were usually those weird sitcom kisses where they just mashed their open mouths together. gross.

So, anyway, Lois and Clark's displays of affection are my favorite out of all of my OTP's.

RIGHT??? I know they were waiting until they got married for some reason I don’t quite understand (I mean, Clark had been waiting for the right person, which I find so sweet and romantic, but he obviously knew he’d found her by the time he proposed to her, but whatever, this was the early 90s ig), but THEY THOUGHT THEY MIGHT NEVER SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN. It’s absolutely crazy that they didn’t have goodbye sex in the season 3 finale.

That moment, that first moment, when, after the superhero has revealed his identity to his Lady Love, and they've been fighting with each other for days and don't know if they can ever trust each other again, but then trouble comes and, empowered with the knowledge now of who he is and all that he can do, she just whispers his name and knows he'll hear her, and her plan is good, and suddenly they're a team and they're on the same side and she's not a helpless add-on but a real partner and they are working together and stronger together. Yeah, that moment.
