asking because i know tagging courtesy varies among fandoms and i've always gone by the "if they have dialogue they get tagged" rule but i've also heard people complain about overtagging characters if there's no real focus on them so? i'm curious to see what other people think.
#i think the fear of overtagging comes more from bigger fandoms#idk i've gone through character tags in small fandoms with less than 20 works i'll take a single line of dialogue#i do get the frustration of being excited to read something with an obscure character but then find out they're not really in it#which is why i try to order character tags from main to least important#(getting close to finishing the ST Picard/Voyager fic and i feel like all of the voyager characters are present enough to each be tagged#but i'm still not really sure what the courtesy is)#(yes this is what i'm thinking about instead of finishing the first draft)#fanfic#my posts#my polls

#RAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH#I might write a little bit more this weekend we'll see cause I may be busy#current status on chapter two: beginning portion edited and good#still working on editing the smut and#I don't know if it's just taking forever or if I added way too much to the scene where you jerk aki off#because why am I still working on that segment#you haven't even slurped on it yet#editing the rest of the smut is sure too take just as long though because after this scene#everything is pretty much rough outline mode#so there's a lot of work that needs to be done#I've also started working on the ending#I'm about halfway done with the rough draft for it#I figured out what I want to do with it I think#at this point I think I will certainly get close to 70k words but I'm not quite sure yet if I'll actually break that barrier#there's a ton that needs to be added to the second half of the chapter though so it's definitely possible#and I still can't say when exactly I'll be done#my current hope is to release the second chapter about three weeks after the first#is that good? is that too long???#you promised you'd be willing to wait didn't you... yes I'm talking to you....#I'm starting to gain a little more confidence in the second chapter after working on it more#gonna have my bestie read it when I'm done so she can affirm that I am indeed not a failure#ok I've talked too much#aki sex. soon. aki sex

Okay so it's only technically the first half of the original ch7 for "15 Minutes" but my STARS, it's something posted and that feels like such a win right now.
Georgette (computer) had a bad morning but despite that, she rallied after that first freeze/lockup and, look, we got something accomplished!

#lol!! not to be bitter and grumpy but i think there is a part of me that wants to be missed when i leave a place#am i slightly hurt that there has been no response from anyone after i informed people (albeit online)#that i would be leaving this church due to distance and unprecedented circumstances and other logistics (well there are#other reasons too but i'm not about to announce them in a group chat)? ......yes#i KNOW i am very young and am looked upon somewhat indulgently by the other congregants#for what is probably excessive enthusiasm and childish naivete and an inability to shut up when i'm nervous#but i thought that i'd been at this church long enough to be missed! or wanted there. perhaps that's a me problem though#anyway :))))))) this is fine. i didn't spend about an hour drafting that text and worrying that i'd hurt people by leaving anyhow#(i did and it was very painful) (i DO know that i have a desire to be Specially Liked or at least Strongly Liked in a circle of friends#and that IS a me problem and i KNOW that i want to be loved so very badly) (BUT STILL I THOUGHT AT THE VERY LEAST#I'D CONTRIBUTED ENOUGH TO MATTER even though that's not how mattering works and NOT the best way to look at the situation)#anyway i know i'm overthinking#but darn it i wanted to matter in this community! and i loved being a part of this church!#songbird's year of feeling 22

1.9k words today.
got to Chapter 5 and finished the plot point I'm on. Hopefully the next points come easier.
Additionally, I've got 24.4k words in this novel and I'm on about 12 out of 22 plot points. So my word count isn't scaring me as much as it was about a week ago.
#progress report#pppttthhh#man I'm tired#yeah I thought I was going to finish this novel and have it right around 30k words#I was very nervouse about the amount of stuffing I was looking at adding to this project#but if I keep this up I'll be more in the neighborhood of 45k by the end#which is still too short but I feel like it'll give me more to work with and fill in#but to put it into perspective#most published fantasy novels will bottom out at 70k to 80k words#the companion story to this one#the book two to this book one that I've already written a first draft for#was 108.2k words#ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT THOUSAND#so yes#I am still nervous about this word count#because editing out feels way easier than editing in#🕸️

People sure do be testing my patience today.
#I've got an ongoing power struggle happening with an outside company we work with#and we recently had a meeting (with a mediator) because another rep realized that I was being spoken to very poorly and not listened to#so they took it upon themselves to schedule basically a supervised call#and it went exactly as I expected it to#at one point I had to step away to assist a patient and when I came back#the other party didn't realize I had returned and I just listened to them basically badmouth me and call me stupid for several minutes#while they listed out everything 'I'm doing wrong'#(even though we'd already confirmed I hadn't done anything wrong)#the mediator got in touch with me today and was basically like 'I really didn't like the way she was speaking to you are you ok?'#and like 'she was just trying to railroad everything you said and I did not care for it'#so now I get to draft up some emails and cc some folks and try to explain that the exact same issues are still happening#the issues that I supposedly made up#but I'm forwarding on emails as proof that yes this is happening and no it is not my fault#and I'm already frustrated and dreading the inevitable spin that it's somehow something I'm doing wrong#meanwhile the phone will not stop ringing#and it's the same 4 people over and over again
