here’s the first titan of my revamp of frontiers.

Time to reveal some lore about my revamp of frontiers!

a lot is the same, but i tweak some details to bring stuff more together in my own taste.

there‘s 5 islands:

NORTH: KOIOS

EAST: HYPERION

SOUTH: KREIOS

WEST: IAPETOS

CENTRAL: KRONOS

the island‘s names are now based off the 4 greek titans that held the god uranos in place, so kronos could... defeat their father. (read the original myth at ur own descretion. it’s weird in greek mythological fashion.) Myth says they held him in the cardinal directions and therefore i arranged the islands like that.

Very short version of my opinion/reasoning here: i hate how they used some greek mythology names for the original game but beyond they names there was no more correlation or otherwise cleverly used thematic from the myths ://

KOIOS ISLAND:

pretty much identical to kronos island in the og game, only i’d add more lore to the places you visit. the abandoned ruins should hold some clues to who lived there, what was done in those places etc. cant tell me no pots survived long enough for me to come along to break them!!!!!

the namesake titan koios is about „questioning“. it felt a fitting island to start out as this is where sonic has to balance his questioning the mysterious orders and the desire to help his friends. the north star, associated with koios, is also all about direction and knowing where to go, so it fits that the tutorial island is giving direction to the player!

as for the giant’s design (yes i hate the name “giganto” this is simply. “the giant” or “giant” or “titan”)

there was not much to go off of on koios himself, but i already really liked the concept of giganto, so i simply tweaked it to fit more into my idea of a titan! didn’t take too much, just a little adjustment of the proportions, as well as some counterbalance in form of 2 tails. that giant hunk of muscle would NOT be balanced on those stick legs without a tail (or two)

PERSONALITY

Alex is reserved - he is quiet and observant and keenly aware of his surroundings at all times. Alex truthfully, is not someone who is easy to get to know. Rarely trusting people, Alex prefers to keep people at an arms length, not wanting to get specifically close to anyone. Of course, this means that he comes off quite cold and aloof, which he absolutely is.

He is also a massive control freak, constantly needing to control every aspect of everything that happens around him. Part of this stems from the fact that he doesn't trust people easily, and the other is the fact that he believes that no one else can do things the way he wants them done and it's easier to just do it all himself as opposed to delegating or asking for help. Of course, this has slowly changed for the better over the years.

In general, Alex is also exceedingly organized, very sharp, and a quick study. Exceedingly precise and methodical, he is definitely a higj achieving perfectionist who will not be satisfied with anything less than perfect. While Alex's perfectionist tendencies do tend to rub off on his team mates, he is careful not to put the burdon of perfection on their shoulders and tends to keep it to himself - he holds himself to impossibly high standards. This is a big part of why he's so driven as well. He is also exceedingly competitive and absolutely detests losing.

Another aspect to Alex is his morality - he has rather rigid views on morality. Everything is black and white - good or bad. Nothing is grey. Because of this, Alex tends to unintentionally put the people closest to him on pedestals, often refusing to see and accept their flaws. So when these people do fall from his graces and make mistakes, Alex essentially cuts them off entirely. It's hard for him to accept that these people are fundamentally flawed. Naturally, this has gotten him into several fights with his friends and fellow team members. And just as he is quick to anger, he is equally quick to forgive and forget as well. Of course, that is only if you're already on his good side.

On the flip side, it's very difficult for him to accept that people can change for the better. Again, this is rooted in the fact that Alex does not trust people. However, his time at the Academy has helped him overcome this a little - he now trusts his team, and his notion of morality has become a little more flexible with time as well.

While he's not the easiest person to get to know, Alex is extremely loyal and exceedingly protective of the people closest to him - he will quite literally burn down the planet if it meant saving them.

POWERS & ABILITIES

Much of Alex's true abilities still remain unexplored. It's believed that his mother's line carried the X- Gene that would have resulted in mutations that allowed them to channel the sun's energy through their bodies, essentially becoming solar conduits.

Similarly, Alex is able to channel the energy of the sun and release it via his body, primarily through his eyes. The way this works is that the energy and heat of the sun are channeled through his body and become increasingly condensed and released through high-powered laser beams.

To take it one step further, Alex is also able to release the sun's energy through his body in other channels - he can raise his body's temperature to dangerous levels affecting, enough to melt physical objects and metals, and also ultimately altering the climate patterns locally temporarily. Additionally, he can also release the sun's energy through his palms via high-powered laser beams.

Mother : Isabella Mastronadi

Alex was extremely close to his mother prior to her death - he seemed to have inherited the x-gene from her. Isabella, while possessing the X-Gene, had no visible mutations or abilities, and it's widely believed that any abilities she may have had were dormant.

Father : Derek Mastronadi

Alex had always been close to his father and idealized him as he grew up. After the death of his mother, Alex's relationship with his father changed and deteriorated drastically. Alex learned that his father was an executive on a pharmaceutical company's board who had been involved in a series of drug trials gone horribly wrong and was involved in covering it up. Furthermore, he also learned that his father had been cheating on his mother with his secretary for years. Since then, he lost all respect for him.

Rosaria Huntington

Rosaria Huntington means everything to Alex. She was and is his first true love. Their relationship started out as rivals as children, but soon grew to friendship when they realized that they were more alike than they'd like to admit. Rosaria was the only person who was able to knock his walls down and get close to him - she was also the only person who didn't seem to be bothered by his aloofness.

They always shared a special relationship, often communicating via telepathy with one another. Because of this, Alex could always "feel" Rosaria - he knew exactly where she was and what she was feeling.

When she went missing during the invasion, Alex never stopped blaming himself for what happend to her and spent the next few years in an obsessive state, doing whatever it took to find any information on what happened to her.

Francesca

Alex began dating Francssca, a fellow survivor in 2026. No one really understood how they were dating because they were exceedingly different in terms of personality and priorities. However, people were happy to see him move on or try to at least. But even though he dated her, his mind was almost always preoccupied with finding Rosaria.

HISTORY

Alex was born to Isabella and Derek Mastronadi in New York City, and was raised in Manhattan. His mother's family ran a pizzeria and his father was a pharmaceutical executive.

Growing up, Alex was the kind of kid who was always in trouble - not for instigating problems but for defending and standing up for those he perceived to be victims.

At the age of 12, Alex's mother was killed in a mugging gone wrong- she had been on her way home after closing up the pizzeria and was only a block away. Her death devastated Alex and changed his life forever. Alex began to spiral in all aspects of his life - he lost his motivation to do anything really and was exceedingly angry and depressed, unable to process her death. To make matters worse, he also found out that his father's company had been involved in several lawsuits for poorly managed drug trials and that his father played an active role in suppressing the lawsuits. Alex also learned that his father had been cheating on his mother for years with his secretary and had been planning to divorce her.

Disillusioned and angry, Alex decided he wanted nothing to do with his father and ran away from home. He spent the next few months bouncing between homeless shelters and sleeping at the local library. One night, Alex felt extremely unwell and resorted to taking some pain medication to soothe the pain. What he didn't know was that he had accidently taken one of his father's company's medications. For humans, it worked as it was supposed to - it relieved fever and surpassed pain. But for mutants, it seemingly activated the dormant X-Gene.

Alex soon after began to shoot laser beams from his eyes, virtually destroying everything in his pathways. Given the widespread damage, the officials at the homeless shelter reached out to Professor X and urged him to take Alex to the Academy. Shortly after, Alex met Professor X, who enrolled him in the Academy alongside other mutant wards. By then, Alex's eyes had been so damaged by the laser beams that he was forced to wear specially designed glasses that suppressed the laser beams.

Alex was weary of the Academy at first but soon grew to enjoy his time there and became fast friends with his fellow peers. He also found himself idolizing Professor X and wanted to prove himself to the Professor by winning his favor. This was of course to be achieved by being at the top of his class . And thus began his infamous rivalry with Rosaria Huntington.

Eventually, his rivalry with Rosaria became a friendship, and before he knew it, he had seemingly fallen in love with her. Now, this was exceedingly obvious to literally anyone but Rosaria. At the age of 18, Alex finally got the courage to ask Rosaria to be his girlfriend officially.

In 2019, the Academy was invaded by American armed forces. This not only resulted in the destruction of the Academy, but also in the death of several mutants including Professor X and Rosaria. While Alex never quite accepted that Rosaria was dead, he was distraught by the fact that she was missing.

For the next few years, Alex obsessively looked for Rosaria, often going through questionable means to find any information he could about her. He seemed haunted by the fact that he could not feel her presence.

Around 2026, Alex began dating a fellow mutant survivor - Francesca. Later that year, Alex awoke, and for the first time in years, he found himself not using his glasses. His eyes were healed. Unable to explain how this happened, Alex devoted his free time to learning more about his own abilities and mutation, furthering his abilities to channel solar energy. He'd eventually learn that Rosaria had unknowingly healed him through the tears of the Phoenix while she was astral projecting one night.

TRIVIA

Around this time, Alex also started to "feel" Rosaria again, often telling his closet friends that he would see her often in his sleep or that he could feel that she was still alive.

Alex loves black coffee and rock music.

He also obviously loves the sun and loves beaches.

“Talk about strong impressions.” Billow of smoke rises; nicotine soon entwined with crisp pine and spice. “Without even meeting you, sounds like she almost has you pegged.” A single tap releases the stack of ash onto a glass tray. Wide grin soon tugged on his lips; a fang visible as a dimple dug into his left cheek. No doubt the entire situation was humorous. Leave it to Harkan to push the boundaries for his own pleasure. All else be damned, or so the saying goes. “Got to hand it to you, it’s one hell of a way to keep ‘busy’.”

“Must you encourage him?”

Doors open to reveal a familiar figure; curtain of silver snow trailing behind in silken waves. A glass of wine held in hand, so nearly matching the hue painted on manicured nails. Her shoulders are tense. Notes of frustration laced in her words. Ah … she must have finished meeting with the Cardinals. Best to ask later behind closed doors.

“I don’t see the problem with it.” Harkan shrugs with abandon. His arm readily thrown back over his chair, glimpsing at Josefine before taking another drink. Dry bite of liquor is soothing to the senses. Hint of citrus chased by the smokiness brought forth from aged barrels. A fitting combination for his entire mood. “I’m getting the job done.”

“Even so,” Kreios inhaled another drag from his cigarette. “Your instability is starting to show.”

A muscle in Harkan’s jaw twitched with irritation. The implication made loud and clear yet the gravity of it hardly seemed worth discussing. “Josefine already took care of it.”

“It’s only a matter of time.” Delicate fingers brushed against freshly plucked roses. Rubies finally sweeping back toward the demon, a smirk soon tugging on colored lips. “Don’t think I haven’t heard about that little incident with the vampire.”

“There’s nothing to be concerned about.”

“Doubt it.” Kreios chimed before exhaling another cloud of smoke. “According to Mikael and Adalene, the bodies you left behind were … less than recognizable.”

“Maybe it was their fault for pissing me off.”

“Possibly.” Rim of her glass pressed as wine slipped past lips. Delicious notes of cranberry and sherry danced in harmony. Surely this would pair well with the apples freshly picked from the nearby orchards. “Frankly, I could care less what you do with the dead.”

“The issue lies with the vampire interfering.”

“Oh yeah?” Now skepticism entered Harkan’s voice. Frustration easing to annoyance and dare he admit, even curiosity. “How so?”

“First it’s that little demon – not that ‘little’ comes close to describing that vixen.”

Josefine rolled her eyes without comment.

“But now a vampire.” Kreios tapped his cigarette again. “I’ll admit, I took her as a gentle soul. Someone who wouldn’t necessarily stomach the grotesque despite what she is but colored me surprise. Let alone to hear that she’s been coming around far more than just a quick job.”

“Have to keep the customer happy.” Chuckling, Harkan took another drink. “Besides, it’s a one-off incident. It’s not like she knows, nor do I expect her to make a report to her boss. I mean, what’s the point anyway? It ain’t going to solve their dilemma or solve the case you so ‘kindly’ volunteered me to do.”

“And yet tell me how you’ve already managed to make a name for yourself – even by insult – to her friends?”

“Maybe they’re nosy.”

“Or maybe they’re keeping a closer eye on you than you think.” Her tone took on a dangerous edge. Roses that once bloomed in their base soon begin to wilt. Measured steps are taken, halting to stand alongside Kreios who watched from his seat. “Don’t misunderstand, Harkan. What you do with your time is your business. I don’t care who or what you decide to screw – but if they interfere even one second …”

“Including your little friend.” Kreios threw in as his eyes brightened into pools of molten gold.

“You’ll have my head.” He ground out; anger laced alongside a note of defiance. “Don’t worry, she won’t. Her concerns are focused somewhere else and if she does …” Great, as if he needed another thing to deal with. It was bad enough his behavior has been edging toward instability. And her concern?

He couldn’t deal with it. Would not dare feed that curiosity when she looked at him with such … pity? Sorrow?

“I’ll handle it.”

Crius ‘God of Constellations, Underworld’

In Greek mythology, Crius, also known as Kreios or Krios, is regarded as one of the Titans, a powerful group of deities who preceded the Olympians. Described in Hesiod's Theogony, Crius is the son of Uranus (the sky) and Gaia (the earth). While Crius is not as individually distinct as some of the other Titans, his presence in Greek mythology holds great significance.

The Titans are a generation of powerful gods who ruled the cosmos before being overthrown by the Olympians in a violent conflict known as the Titanomachy. Crius was among those who fought against the Olympians, ultimately losing in this epic battle. Despite his defeat, Crius played an essential role as one of the foundational deities in Greek mythology.

According to M. L. West, Hesiod, the poet who chronicled much of Greek mythology, expanded the list of Titans by incorporating figures from the ancient traditions of Delphi. Coeus and Phoibe, along with Crius, were included among the Titans by Hesiod. They were significant figures connected to the oracle of Delphi, a renowned shrine dedicated to Apollo. Phoibe's name was even adopted by Apollo as he assumed control of the oracle.

Crius, in particular, held importance as the father of Perses and the grandfather of Hecate. Background:

Dardanos was the first born and therefore the heir to the throne. A couple years after he was born his parents had a second child. A girl. Who they named Zelda. Unfortunately the queen would pass shortly after the birth of her second child. This left the family and kingdom to grieve. Dardanos was young but old enough to feel that grief. The missing of his mother but it's something as with all things passed and became easier over time.

She smiles, eyes narrowing slightly, as she takes a deep sip of tea, mainly to keep herself from erupting at the questioner. "What an interesting question," she says while tracing the rim. "Why have you chosen to ask me? Oh!" Her eyes turn sharper, pinning the person down with her gaze, "And why do you want to know?"

He's more rankled than he should be and he blames it on the audacity of the question instead of the subject. Voice dripping with disdain he answers, "One could say that by wasting my time with foolish questions, you are interfering with the running of the kingdom. Ask yourself if this knowledge is worth the charge of treason."

Sarai:

"You are so bold! I admire that—I really do! In fact, shall I put your name down for the next troop movement? No?" She leans closer with a malicious smile. "I assumed you would leap after the opportunity. Since you question your queen, I assumed you love danger." Once she has them dismissed she thinks of everything but you, her mood soured.

Desma:

She forces out a bitter laugh and shoots them a withering look. "What? Too scared to ask yourself?" she says mockingly, "Get away from me, you stinking piss pot." She walks away, unable shake the feeling that one day she might not like the answer to that question.

Sutek:

"No." he says curtly. And leaves them to decipher what he means by that. He already knows that others would be interested in you, and he knows he should block your potential for happiness. Still, they asked the wrong person, so why should they expect a correct answer.

Nari:

She flushes at the question, stammering in surprise. "I—I wouldn't know! Uh—" she rolls her shoulders, regaining her composure. "You'll have to consult the relevant parties, not me. Now if you'll excuse me." She hurries off to the training ground and pretends that every training dummy is asking her intrusive questions.

Heka:

"It would not be wise for me to discuss the affairs of others." He smiles before furrowing his brow, eyes widening in uncharacteristic panic. "Not that there are any affairs going on! I'm saying that I don't know, but I'm sure there aren't!" Afterwords the question rings in his ears and he wonders what the harm would be in just asking you.

Apart, Nevi and Crea were the Moon and Sun cards, in that order -- together, they were the star.

What was at the very beginning cannot be explained or understood; it can only be spoken of indirectly because there is no way to comprehend something in which its points of differentiation have yet to be expressed. It is called the Beginning Which Cannot Be Spoken. It is not created; it did not come to be; it has always been. It is there before anything else; it is there at the beginning; it is now and will always be. Orpheus, the founder of Mysteries, tells us that within this undifferentiated mixture are Earth and Water and it is from the dance of these two that everything which is comes to be. For Ageless Time was moved by Necessity and gave birth to Aither and a limitless chasm which extended in every direction, and everything was in tumult. In the Aither, Time formed a silvery egg. And the egg began to move in an enormous and wondrous circle and from the egg Phanes emerged, and as he was born, the Aither and the Chasm were torn apart.

Nyx, the nurse of the Gods, made obvious those who were previously concealed: she gave birth to Gaia, whose name means “earth,” and to Ouranos, the limits of the mind, whose name means “sky,” and she gave the scepter of Phanes to Ouranos and thereby gave him the kingship. Ouranos and Gaia united and this is the first marriage.

Now the royal couple produced children. Gaia first gave birth to the Moirae: Klotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. Then Gaia gave birth to the three Cyclopes and the three giant Hundred-Handers, but these were an unruly bunch and Ouranos cast them into the bowels of the earth, for he had received an oracle that his own children would overthrow him.

But when Ouranos imprisoned her sons, Gaia was greatly distressed, so she then gave birth to six lovely daughters and six kingly sons, indeed, the great Titanes who are the powers of the natural world, they who drag or stretch.

The six Titanic daughters are law-giving Themis and gentle Tethys, Mnemosyne the mother of the fair-haired Mousai, and happy Theia the mother of light. And Gaia bore radiant Phoibi who held the seat at Delphí, and glorious Rheia the mother of the aigis-bearing Olympian king of all.

The seven Titanic sons are querying Koios the father of Leto and Astæria, Kreios the lord of the vast constellations, light-giving Hyperion the father of the Sun and the Moon, genial Iapetos the father of the race of men, Okæanos who encircles and envelops the earth with his many streams, and greatest of all, kingly Kronos, he who strikes (awakens) the mind, father of glorious children. Of all these mighty sons and daughters of Earth and Sky it was Kronos who Nyx cherished and cultivated.

Gaia pleaded with the Titanes to overthrow their father for having cast her progeny into Tartaros. All the siblings rallied to her supplication with the exception of Okæanos who brooded darkly in the halls of his palace trying to decide what to do. The plot angered the mighty God against his mother and even more so against his siblings, so he declined to join them.

Gaia gave Kronos an adamantine sickle and when Ouranos came to lie with her, Kronos cut off his genitals. The members of Ouranos flew through the air into the wine-dark sea and swirled about in the restless blue waters forming a wondrous foam out of which emerged beautiful Heavenly Aphrodite, the mother of Harmony, and as she was born, Zilos (Rivalry) and Apate (Deceit) took her into their care. THE FOURTH KING

These things having been accomplished, Kronos assumed the kingship; he deserved this by his very nature and for having borne the greatest weight of the deed done to his father. THE FIFTH KING

Mighty cloud-gathering Zeus, with deep fore-knowledge, understood that he must marry his mother Demeter, she who designed the works of the droning bees, but Demeter resisted his advances and transformed herself into a serpent. Zeus responded by becoming a serpent himself and the two intertwined in a Knot of Heracles producing the Daughter Persephone.

When adequate time had passed and life-giving Persephone was at the bloom of her youth, Zeus again became a serpent, united with her, and produced the child Zagreos (Dionysos), the sweet child of his father. Meanwhile, Demeter gives the throne to Persephone to rule in Dionysos’ place until he comes of age. She tells her daughter to go into the bed of Apollo and that they will produce the Eumenides.

Under Phanes there had been a Golden Age of men. And under Kronos there was a Silver Age where men had very long lives. If there is anyone you need to do the dirty work for you, it's this guy right here. Harkan is chaos seeking pleasure. There is never a limit with him. Nothing is ever enough to satiate his cravings for death. He is one of the major demons that served under Anki and, befitting as their 'master', he is a plague to the mortal world. He savors agony. Takes joy in suffering. And if there is none to be found, you can better believe he will orchestrate it himself.

Harkan lives true to his nature. Serving only what will benefit him. While he does have a 'contract' per say with a particular witch, he has ensured himself a way to still take as he desires. His 'limitations' are few and in between but even then, they are nothing more than narrowed down to one person. Everyone else is free game as far as he is concerned. There is no such thing as allies in his world.

On occasion, for humor's sake, he will reach out to Adalene and Mikael for a hunt. See who can accumulate the most body or soul count. For added competition, he might even rope Adira and Nix into the mix. Rarely will he bother to cross Kreios, frankly by respect that he is the brother to Anki (though it does not entirely deter him from crossing the boundary from time to time).

Harkan is a muse that I'm still learning and figuring out as I go along. Did I expect him to be this much of an ass? Of course not but hey, even I can admit it's been a little fun watching this little murderous demon form himself.

Crius ‘God of Constellations, Underworld’

In Greek mythology, Crius, also known as Kreios or Krios, is regarded as one of the Titans, a powerful group of deities who preceded the Olympians. Described in Hesiod's Theogony, Crius is the son of Uranus (the sky) and Gaia (the earth). While Crius is not as individually distinct as some of the other Titans, his presence in Greek mythology holds great significance.

The Titans are a generation of powerful gods who ruled the cosmos before being overthrown by the Olympians in a violent conflict known as the Titanomachy. Crius was among those who fought against the Olympians, ultimately losing in this epic battle. BIOGRAPHY

Seongho has been delivered to Death’s door at a young age. His parents are far from normal. For one, both of them were men — which is increasingly frowned upon in the country they lived in. And on the other, one of his papas wasn’t human. Kobal, a hellhound, made a deal with a desperate soul who was ready to throw his entire life away. Roped into a relationship with the human, Kobal and Kain start their life as a married couple, much to Kobal’s disdain, and a family of their own. Due to overly zealous hounds, jealous of Kobal’s favoritism of their sire, Kreios, Kobal’s siblings targeted his family. Seongho unfortunately lost his life to the beasts, and was brought back to life as a hound himself. After the trauma of dying, Seongho started acting out and his temper grew violent. Unhappy with his son’s behavior, Kain encouraged him to try to find an outlet to his emotions. That was when Seongho discovered his innate skill in music and singing. Auditioning to Termina in 2009, Seongho began his life as a trainee, until he debuted with the trip AKX, adopting the stage name: Khar.
