Saw Wild Robot!

It was very good! I don't have cohesive thoughts yet, I need to see it again. But first blush: A tiny percentage mushier than most Chris Sanders movies. Really awesome to see a motherhood movie in the year of our Lord 2024. Kicks the ideology of family-planning and selfish control in the teeth. So hard.

The flavor text in this chapter! And the little moments with O and the characters we are romancing KILLED ME! I love seeing the change in the characters however small! I think I'm officially retiring my Sevenmancer title for every other RO 😔

I did say things will start having more of a weight starting chapter 3 !! hehe im glad you liked those moments ! The ROs are starting to become Aware of things, slowly but surely !

and I have an inkling that Chapter 3 Seven will win back all of the Sevenmancers lost....I do not believe Sevenmancers who say they left it's just been so long you guys forgot your origins /j

how would the ROs react to an mc that is constantly seeking them out for protection/reassurance (say, standing close to them or hiding behind them, or looking for them at the first sign of danger)

I honestly think that most of the RO would already be expecting the MC to use them for support in those situations, and they would gladly be that support for them whenever they needed it, but some ROs would not actively encourage that behavior, even going as far as trying to "toughen up" the MC for their own sake. 

Would try to discourage the MC and make them rely on themselves more: Mars, Paladin and Archon.

Would gladly take a central role in MC's support system: Zodiac, Ace, Wildcat and Stardom.

I hope there will be more dialogue options later on that are more… domineering? Assertive? I’m not sure what to call it but… the kind that reframe the power dynamics in the relationship without blocking the romantic route or making the RO hate you, especially with Aretas like… MC grew up on as a locust got everything taken from them grew up in a thieves guild and is now a stand in leader for said guild, I don’t see MC being meek with anybody including the king!

- You gently lifted the king’s chin with your finger to look at you, in his eyes you could see slight fear… or is it passion…

First of all, anon, you need to sit down and get to writing a story of your own. Once you finish, send me a link because oh my goodness! You created tension and atmosphere in just a few sentences that some take paragraphs to build up! You have an expectant reader over here!!

To answer your question, the last update left our character at a crucial turning point. You're no longer an outsider on the fringes of the court. Now, your character has ties to several of the most powerful people there, which means there isn't as much of a need to bow and scrape.

It won't be every option, because there is a time and place for everything and if your character gets thrown into the prison we don't have a story (Or do we...), but there will definitely be times when the MC can play with the power dynamic or flip it on its head completely. Doing it some ways in certain situations might make character's hate you, but for others it might add a different layer to a friendship or romance.

(In one of the first batch of scenes I wrote, there was something like what you gave an example of, for Aretas. It comes up in all the love interest's routes, but I think the role of identity and power is extremely prevalent with Aretas.)
