Of course it piqued your interest: this is the 1990s, after all, and there isn’t much for teenagers to do in your small town. Your friends were intrigued, and so were you. So you started to play. And play. And play.

What does it matter if no one remembers exactly how you discovered the game, or if the story changes ever so slightly each time you tell it? Or if you change ever so slightly too, every time you emerge into the real world once more?

All that matters is that you keep playing.

For Whose Majestyu (formerly Long Live the Emperor) is an interactive-fiction set in a fictional world inspired by ancient China during the Warring States period and some folklore in other eras. You move through the narrative as an agent of the (fictitious) Heng Emperor, who is losing influence over the kingdom as three vassal lords gain power over the years. Would you serve the Emperor loyally and help him re-establish imperial control? Or would you help someone else take the throne, perhaps even for yourself?

I have been following up with this IF for a few years now (since it was first uploaded). It is one of my favs among many others. If you enjoy wuxia novel/dramas/manhua such as Three Kingdoms etc, you'll surely love the story. Who would pass the chance to be a badass as General?

To show my appreciation, I hope to share this awesome work to our fellow IF-readers because it is really not talked out enough. The update is not regular but you can tell the author toally put effort in writing each chapter. There are already 13 chapters out, so grab your beverage and enjoy.

The old man simply smiled at him, his pale gray eyes mostly covered by his fluffy white brows. “Couldn’t he just try it out first?” Simon insisted, making the priest chuckle even more. “Do you know what the seven warriors fought for?” he asked the prince in return. “To be free of the tyrant’s rule!” Simon quickly replied. “Why then, would he be willing to give up this freedom?” the priest replied. “And could one simply ‘try’ a marriage out?”

Development Plans!

I had an idea to help me find which game resonates the most with viewers, so I decided to start a series of rapid prototypes that will last a month! Each prototype will be the "prologue" for a full game and will be available on itch.io. Whichever game gets the most support from fans - fanart, donations, fanfic, reblogs, and more! - will be turned into a full game. If multiple are extremely possible, I could develop more, but it will take longer. I think this could be a fun way to get others involved in the game development process!
