I love trying to parse together anything about the Doctor's Academy years. He was a "terror" for 120 years. He regenerated one teacher and nearly regenerated a second one. He had no friends until school. he put a teacher in a time loop. He made a bacteria that put multi cellular lifeforms into a coma. He was in a band. It took him two tries to graduate with the bare minimum grade. No one can agree how long he went to school for or if he even graduated. He has a doctorate in cheese making. His friends kept trying to get him to join a rebellion and the government kept erasing his memory about it. The doctor is recorded to have attended a gallifreyan university that doesn't exist.

Like, what is this? I love this. Everything and nothing is canon and the world is a beautiful place.

Just thinking about Borusa rolling up to Beta Shrigma and Costco's cookie stand and ordering 20 boxes of the Shortbread of Rassilon.

koschei, or at least the figure koschei oakdown/the master is named after, is an individual referred to as being deathless. but here's the thing -

death is represented symbolically by theta, the doctor's academy name. so if koschei is without death, as their epithets suggest - then koschei/the master is without theta/the doctor.

and if you're deathless, you're not just without death - you're unable to be claimed by it, if you will. unable to resist a fundamental force of the universe that dictates the lives of just about every other being. do you see what im getting at!!!!!! do you see it!!!!

Anyone bothered by the fact that the things that drove him insane were done to him by people he should have been able to trust. The drumbeat was put in his head by Rassilon, and while it’s not news no one can trust their leader in general, he should’ve been able to. He shouldn’t have been driven mad for the end result of being pawn in a strategy. Then the guilt of Torvics murder, which Theta did, and no one blames him for that, but he chose to give it to Koschei when he had the chance. A lapse of judgment made by a scared child which drove his best friend to insanity. He also didn’t find out that either of these were done to him intentionally for a very long time. He went his entire life thinking it was all him, he was the problem and there was something inherently bad and wrong about him. I mean, the drums and the guilt. He never stood a chance. He was doomed from the start.

I played around with some new brushes and textures for this one. I was going to go with their default outfits at first (his red suit and Theta's Addison uniform), but I decided against it.

I used Japanese instead of English, just like my previous dream pic, because the vertical text works better with the composition.

Despite his reservations and distrust of her, a part of Spamton cannot ignore the familiarity he craves in another White Addison, and that thought alone disgusts him.

I made koschei smaller by an inch in my fic, which is funny by itself because theta lords how much 'taller' he is over koschei, BUT then after koschei becomes the master (staying the same height of 5'7) he has to cope with the horror of a 6'2 doctor. I would also try to kill someone who did that to me, and that's why I did it.
