what's a simple character you ask?

simple characters are only made up by a few shapes, I've put some examples up. (some of these characters are not mine i just drew them for art fight/commissions) other examples includes Kirby and most kirby characters, level 1 (baby) Digimon, some pokemon, tamagotchis, sanrio characters, or your own simple oc, or anything similar to these examples

i like to take simple characters and make them look nice i can draw them in two ways, with a pencil brush or a pixel brush (pixel brush example is the Kirby with cowboy hat)

what can be in the picture: a simple character with a simple object if you desire it will be fully colored and shaded

want more than one character: each character is 35 usd I don't offer discounts on additional characters

a fresh start - glow up guide no.1

HAVE YOU EVER WANTED SOMETHING SO BAD, BUT DIDN'T KNOW WHERE TO START?

Me too, and that's why we're focusing on this today. Here is what you need to do, to start your glow up era with a bang 😎

Welcome to the first post of the Glow Up Guide series! In this series I'll be discussing everything you need to know step by step, so you can have your best glow up and become your highest self.

Let's begin! ⭐💙

STEP ONE - DECLUTTER

Before we begin, put your phone down for a bit and declutter your room. You can go as crazy or little as you wish, however I prefer to do a deep clean. Dust your shelves, counters, vacuum the floor, clean out your closet etc. Make sure your desk is organized, you know where your stuff is and everything looks neat. A fresh environment supports a fresh mind, so let's start here. If you wish, you can also throw out your old clothes and replace them with new pieces. Although don't feel pressured to do so, we're trying to glow up here, not spend a reckless amount of money.

STEP TWO - JOURNAL

How can we start our glow up journey without knowing where we are now? So grab your journal, a piece of paper or open your notes app. Write down what your situation is and why is it happening. Explain what would you like to change and acknowledge your starting position. This will help us set realistic goals later on.

STEP THREE - VISION

First two steps done, bravo! Let's keep it up then and now think about who do we want to become. Write down your vision. Who is this person? What do they look like? What do they like/dislike? What are their boundaries, beliefs? How do they act, dress, workout, eat, etc... If you're having troubles with creating your vision, don't worry, I'll make a post about it soon, but until then just look some prompts on pinterest 😽

STEP FOUR - GOALS

Now we have that, write down what do you want to achieve before 2024 ends. This can be anything depending on your personal glow up preference. If you don't know what you want to accomplish yet, don't worry. Here are some goal examples for you: ⟶ read three non-fiction books ⟶ implement a morning and evening routine ⟶ finish a project ⟶ get a certain grade ⟶ prioritize sleep and self care ⟶ focus on your gut health and diet ⟶ save 500$ These are just some examples you can use, but remember to find a goal thats meaningful to YOU! If you're reading this after 2024 ends, just write down your goals for the next three months.

STEP FIVE - PLAN!

It's time for the last step - planning. Review what you wrote about your goals, your vision and where you are now. Now take it and break it down into weekly goals, and break them down to bite sized habits that you can implement daily! Here is an example: If my goal is to get fit, first I'll start drinking more water and cut out processed foods. I will buy a gym membership or find an activity that works for me (walking, running, dance, swimming, etc.) and do it regularly, let's say 3 times a week. I'll also move my body daily and try to get at least 7k steps in. This is just an example, but this is basically how this works. If you need help with planning your schedule, feel free to use AI as a tool. Tell it to create a glow up plan according to your current situation and your vision and adjust it to your needs. A tip I found very helpful, is to put everything like workouts, classes and plans in a weekly calendar. This will help you stay organized and keep up with your plans. I'll show you how I did mine below!

Do you have any recommendations on Dr. Who books/audio format things? I haven't watched the show in a bit because Moffat wasn't my thing and I can't seem to find the old stuff. As for books/audios, I'll try to keep this brief as I could write an essay on this.

For books, my favorite author is Kate Orman. Orman writes wonderfully, and my personal favorite is The Year of the Intelligent Tigers. I also really liked Goth Opera, Camera Obscure, History 101, Autumn Mist, Lungbarrow, Divided Loyalties, Somewhere Never etc etc etc etc (so many more but I'm forcing myself to stop here). You can often find free versions of basically every novel (at least all I've looked for) on the internet either as pdfs or epubs or whatever. The Internet Archive is particularly useful. Some examples:

And now for the audios! I personally have sold my soul to Big Finish. I have literally hundreds of recommendations. They do have some audios for free, such as those that came from the Paul Spragg Memorial Competition. You can also find a lot of them (up until Zagreus I think) for free on Spotify. There is also almost always a killer sale going on on the website on top of that too.

As for my recommendations, it's pretty dependent on what Doctor or companion you want to listen to. They even have series centered on UNIT, Romana's Gallifrey, Benny Summerfield, and a ton of other things (including a Masterful special that just had a bunch of Masters fucking around and finding out). I'll put in some of my favorites, one for each Doctor, from what I own (which is far from everything, but I do my best).

One: The Sontarans. It was the first time the Doctor had ever encountered the Sontarans, so he was unfamiliar with them. It takes place during Dalek Master Plan, so Steven and Sara are there.

Two: Lords of the Red Planet! It's a good Ice Warrior origin story and has Jamie and Zoe in it. :)

Three: Terror of the Master. I had pre-ordered it as soon as I heard about it. Three....Delgado Master....what more do you want from an audio? It's narrated by Jon Culshaw.

Four: The Wrath of the Iceni. It was a brilliant historical with Four and Leela and Boudica. Leela gets quite a lesson in this one, first being mad at Four for not helping Boudica and then at Boudica for being cruel.

Okay now we are getting into my favorite Doctors (5-8), so these decisions are going to get difficult.

Five: The Kingmaker! Shakespeare spikes Five's drink to get him absolutely wasted to sneak on the TARDIS, the TARDIS gets hiccups as a result, leading to Peri and Erimem being separated from the Doctor. Shenanigans ensue.

Six: Doctor Who and the Pirates. Six and Evelyn have a really meaningful discussion with one of her depressed students. The third part is a musical!

Seven: The Shadow of the Scourge. Benny Ace and Seven against 8th dimensional eldritch abominations. Seven gets turned into one of these insectoids, and body horror ensues.

Eight: Oh dear I can't choose. At the moment, probably the Great War from Dark Eyes 1. Eight meets Molly and is still grieving here. He is very much doomed by the narrative.

War: The Neverwhen. Lots of the War Doctor is good if you like Time War horror, but this one has a lot of time-as-a-weapon and is well written.

Nine: Battle Scars. A nice short story about that one family Nine saved from the Titanic mentioned in the episode Rose. Has a really fantastic girl in it and a Nine dripping in PTSD.

Ten: The Time Reaver. Ten and Donna! There's this gun that basically slows down time for a single person, so that a few minutes for everyone else is centuries for them. Ten is a self sacrificing dope.

Eleven: The Geronimo boxset is the best in my opinion, but I haven't been able to listen to many of these yet.

Twelve: Another one I haven't managed to buy a lot of yet, but Dead Media is amazing. It's written to sound like a podcast with adverts and everything and is set during his time at St. Luke's. And I cried at the end.

Hiccup (httyd) x Jack Frost (Rise of the Guardians (great movie btw😊)) If we're going by htty1 Hiccup would be the boyfailure, and Jack would be the cringefail. But, if we're talking about httyd2, then Hiccup would be the cringefail and Jack would be the boyfailure. The shit they go through and the way I write them really fits that dynamic.

Hey, demigod child of... I'm unclaimed, anyways I found a child of Tartarus, what do I do with it. It's ten years old and won't stop trying to eat sand, we are currently on the way to camp.

Hey, kids!

Please do not let the Tartarus kid eat sand. As much they may want to, even demigods are not able to consume non-nutritional substances. Though there are likely exceptions, in which a god/goddess's powers might allow a child to consume something unusual, Tartarus has no relation to sand. If it's a medical condition, the Apollo kids will probably be able to do something about it.

Anyways, I know a child of a generally malicious being/god/titan can be intimidating. Children of Tartarus may have powers relating to monsters, which may or may not affect your journey to camp. The important thing is to keep treating them as you would any other kid their age. Remember to be kind and open-minded. Also, kids are incredibly bright. Take it from someone who regularly works with kids, even the littles (4, 5, 6), have a good understanding of what’s going on. A 10-year old will have no issues. They will know if they’re being treated right. So treat them with the same respect, kindness, and encouragement that you would anyone else.

As for you, I know it can be tricky as an unclaimed child. You’re probably wondering who your parent is, and if they want you as their child. Chances are, your parent cares, but can’t claim you for your own safety. Oftentimes, gods/goddesses will wait until their child has arrived at camp to claim them. As soon as a child is claimed, it puts a target on their back and amplifies their scent like a monster beacon. So yeah, you’re probably going to be claimed not long after you arrive.

And if you don’t get claimed right away, you’ll get to hang out in the Hermes or Hestia cabins! Everyone is super welcoming! (If you’re in the Hermes cabin, keep an eye on your stuff).

If you still want to figure out who your parent is, there are a few ways that can help, but none of them are 100% accurate.

One of the easier ways is by comparing physical traits. For instance, most Athena kids have blonde hair and gray eyes. Hephaestus kids often have very muscular builds and sometimes brown eyes. Apollo kids tend to have tans, and blonde hair that will get sun-bleached (less common). So on and so forth. Not all gods have particular traits that are passed down, and not all common traits will show up in all kids. But you might be able to narrow it down a little.

The second method, also not 100% accurate, is by discovering what, if any, powers you have. There are a lot of gods/goddesses and a lot of different powers that are possible. But oftentimes, if you know what some of your powers are, you can start grouping them into lists that line up with certain gods/goddesses.

A good example of this is Percy Jackson. He had water powers, yes, but there are a lot of deities related to water. Poseidon, Amphitrite, Triton, Oceanus, Glaucus, Kymopoleia, and many more. On top of that, there are a lot of water spirits that could have also been possibilities. So yes, it was obvious Percy had water powers, but between the Pact and the many possibilities, we couldn’t be sure if he was a son of Poseidon.

You might not know what powers you have and that's okay. Usually, using your powers will come to you naturally, depending on the situation your in. You can try some different things to figure out your powers. People with nature based powers often find that sitting down outside and just trying to meditate and connect with nature will be able to find something. Or maybe you’re really good at crafting or music. Just try as many activities as you can! I’m sure you’ll figure it out eventually!

50 (+3) Facts About My Rook Listener (aka Félix)!

Because I love him in a hiperfocus kind of way 😭💙 If you want to see how he looks like, go to my yuurivoice tag, and you will find all my listeners! Although I probably should make an updated version, he has gotten a 2.0 version ever since... Also, tagging @itsargyle since they suggested taking other YV fans! I'm... Too shy to tag anyone else tho lmao

Anyway, here goes my big infodump on my favorite sunshine boy:

1 - Hey, I'm Félix Torres... Or not, because that's my middle name, and my actual name is Victor. But I'm not that fond of Victor, so I go by Félix!

2 - Victor was my mom's grandpa's name, and Félix is a tribute to my dad, whose name was Feliciano.

3 - Thanks to the acute accent, the correct pronunciation of Félix would be "feh-liks", not "fee-liks". Oh, and the "c" in Victor is mute. It's Vitor. But sometimes even I forget that it isn't supposed to be spelled like the gringos do, haha!

4 - My mom is Brazilian and my dad was Colombian. I was born in Brazil (Aracaju in Sergipe, to be more specific), but have been living in the USA for most of my life now. I used to spend the holidays in Colombia as a kid, but haven't been there ever since dad passed away... I really should pay it a visit again soon, though. It's a real nice country.

5 - I speak native Portuguese, fluent English and intermediary Spanish. I've been studying ASL (as of right now I just know basic stuff like "hi", "how are you?", how to introduce myself... But hey, at least I know the whole alphabet off the top of my head!) and French too, but it has been hard to find some free time... And when I do have it, I always end up drawing, crafting, cooking... Duolingo's owl wants to eat my ass.

6 - Speaking of which, these are my favorite hobbies! Drawing and painting are main passions in life, though. I've been in love with art as far as I can remember. I was in a few-years-long hiatus when it came to painting, only came back to it recently, but have been drawing non-stop ever since I was a little boy!

7 - When it comes to crafting, I enjoy many aspects of it... I've been really into papercraft these days. Origami, paper dolls, collages... But I also really like jewelry making and fabric painting (even if I find it so damn hard, haha!). I just love personalizing things in general. Sometimes, I see a piece of furniture, have an idea and just have to put my personal touch.

8 - I also know how to sew, but I can't say that I'm a big fan. I've tried crochet once, per example, and almost fell asleep on the couch. It's just a bit boring to me... But I'll gladly sew back a button or fix a hole if you ask nicely!

9 - And, last but not least, I love cooking! Not as much as I love to eat, but anyway. I picked up cooking as a way to deal with my pyrophobia and to bond with my uncle (he owns a restaurant!), and really took a liking to it... And modesty aside, I'm damn good at it!

10 - Speaking of which... I'm a bit of a bottomless pit when it comes to food! I'll eat (mostly) anything, am willing to try (mostly) everything and am hungry 24/7. Please, feed me.

11 - My favorite food is kind of specific, but: I love Thanksgiving pies. And breakfast foods. But anything that's chicken or has corn is also very damn good.

12 - I don't really like fruits. Most of them feel either bland (apples taste like NOTHING!) or straight up gross. I hate, HATE peach. Mango, guaba and pineapple too. Disgusting. I'm team vegetables all the way. Lemon and watermelon are the only ones that get a pass.

13 - My favorite ice cream favorite is chocomint!

14 - When it comes to drinks... I like coffee, as long as it has milk and unholy amounts of sugar (hate bitter coffee, as contradictory as it is). And while I'm not too big on alcoholic drinks, I like champagne.

15 - I also like biking, but, much like studying ASL and French, I don't have enough free time nowadays to really get into it again... But I try to bike every weekend I can!

16 - As a kid, I was in singing classes! I really enjoyed it and was pretty decent at it, but nowadays I do it just for fun. Love singing and listening to music around the house while doing other things.

17 - I have eight tattoos on total: Flower sleeves on both arms (featuring a clock among the flowers on the left arm and a bird on the right), music player symbols on the left side of my chest, "keep going" on the right side, an anchor on my upper back, a sun and a crescent moon on my lower back, a sea monster's tentacles going through my right hip and a paper plane on my left ankle!

18 - I also have a bunch of moles. On my face, on my back and on my chest. I used to be embarrassed by them, but nowadays, not nearly as much.

19 - I have been dyeing my hair blonde ever since college. I'm actually a brunette! I like being a blondie, but I'm considering going back to my roots... My hair is screaming for help. [He goes back to being a brunette and lets his hair grow after the events of Escape]

20 - Oh yeah, speaking of college... I have a Law degree. And am working on this field. Ya-hoo... Unfortunately, I needed a more lucrative career to support my family. But my long-term life goal is to be able to quit and live from art! And I like to believe I'm almost there.

21 - I pierced my ears in college too! I usually only wear my lucky sun earrings, but if I'm feeling fancy, I can go with a larger one.

22 - I considered becoming an English major for a while, but didn't happen either.

23 - I have a weird love for plaid jackets (of any color, but especially blue ones) and grungy bracelets. If you wanna give me anything that's wearable, going with either of these is the safest bet! Can't ever have enough of these!

24 - My favorite animals are octopuses (I had an obsession with sea monsters as a kid and this love never really died) and peacocks (they're just awesome)!

25 - My lucky number is sixteen, because my birthday is on February 16th, and because if you put "Félix Victor" together, there's a sixteen in Roman numerals right in the middle: XVI!

My ex-boyfriend (Tristan) once said that my smile is wide enough to be scary, and my mom said that my laugh is too loud, and I've been restraining myself from truly smiling and laughing out loud in public ever since. But I tend to let go when near people I trust.

51 (bonus!) - I have a very sensitive neck... Now, if I see it as a good thing or a bad thing... Depends on what your intentions are... If you know what I mean.

52 (bonus!)² - I'm also pretty great at typing. My words per minute game is insane, modesty aside.

hello! welcome to blog post #2! i was real stoned while writing that last post so ive been reading it a lot to make sure i said everything right. it made me think today about “eating healthy for cheap…” i mentioned lots of canned and frozen foods because i had fruits and vegetables in mind, but i want to clarify that senshi needs more than just fruits and veggies and WE DO TOO!! senshi complains about adventures meals commonly avoiding fruits and vegetables, and is persistent about the importance of a BALANCED meal. just like he said- you need fats, carbs, fruits, veggies (and more)!

i see people now are far too worried about how much protein or calories they’re getting, and health blogs barely ever mention vitamins anymore. nobody wants to talk about the yucky stuff, like fiber and digestion. digestion is easily one of the most important functions in your body (i believe) and you can do a lot for yourself by taking care of it!

since a lot of my health issues have been centered around my stomach and my vitamin levels, i focus on fiber. but if you live in america, you should too because you’re at risk of having the same deficiencies i have! 🫵 most americans don’t meet their fiber goal daily, and many people struggle with constipation as a part of their daily life. that will make you grouchy and more easily overstimulated + tons of other stuff!!! for some people and in my case, your body won’t always digest stuff right if there’s not enough fiber and you may not absorb the nutrients you’re eating. it’s actually recommended to try and consistently get vitamins from your diet and not pills, because you absorb it better when you eat it (just like the medicine senshi said worked better when cooked!) that’s also why it’s so important to hit all your food groups. carbs aren’t an issue, btw- you just need to make sure you’re eating healthy grains. i have a gluten allergy so i actually make most (hopefully all soon) of my carb foods from scratch (waffles, bread, pasta) which gives me more opportunity to pick what grains i get. not everyone has time to bake from scratch though, so oatmeal, wild rice, and popcorn are all some great cheap/easy grains to get in you!

(here’s the mayo clinic guide to grains. they have a guide about fiber too i can send to anyone interested. i’m a patient at mayo with their gender clinic team and i trust them as a resource, but don’t forget to talk to your nutritionist or doctor to figure out what you need and what would be best for you. don’t be afraid to ask them questions, it’s their job!)

you should be getting good fats too. avocados/avocado oil, olive oil, and oily fish like salmon are all some great examples of healthy fats. if you like to bake and you’re up for a challenge, i made butter-free cheese danishes for a friend this year using avocados as fat in the pastry dough!

probiotics can be found in things that are fermented, like yogurt or even olives and apple cider vinegar.

when it comes to meat, i know some people say red or white is healthier, but i cannot stress the importance of talking to your doctor about it!! people with certain medical conditions or allergies may not be able to eat certain meats, and there may be some meats that you should be eating MORE bc of your body or genetics. if you don’t eat meat or only eat red or white meat for any reason, let your doctor/pcp know so you can figure out if you need supplements.

when it comes to fruit and vegetables i get a wide variety since they’re easiest for me to put more of while i cook, so i honestly haven’t checked out what vegetables i SHOULD be targeting. however, when i buy fruit i aim for things high in fiber to help me hit my fiber goal (like oranges!) or i buy fruit that helps with anti-inflammatory stuff. i don’t remember what about the fruit/berries helps but i aim for blueberries and pomegranates. pomegranates really aren’t messy if you open them in a bowl or strainer under running water, and they can be as low as $1 some places for maybe 1/3 cup of seeds? not bad!

but anyways, that’s pretty much all i know so far. becoming informed about what your body needs can open up a lot of new dietary options for you that are still affordable. getting a balanced and nutritious meal should be more accessible but just like senshi we can help, encourage, and educate ourselves and our friends to build a better community. let’s figure out the right path to affordable and sustainable health, together!!

Mysterious Affair at Styles — Ch 5

Alright… I might actually be pretty good at this. Some information we’ve gotten in this chapter not only supports my theory, but even amends it in some way — although at the risk of contradicting other evidence. It feels nice that I might be slightly ahead of Poirot, although I can’t get too cocky. And I am definitely glad to NOT be a Hastings. His pompous attitude in this chapter was a little bit baffling, to be honest. 🤣

Lots of drama in this chapter! Good to see the return of Evie, and understandable that she is rightfully pissed at what happened and wants justice. (That being said, I was offput by that backhanded compliment Poirot gave her about not being beautiful… how strange of him. I best not hope that he says more things like that behind people’s backs.) As well, some characters were definitely dropping little hints left and right about how trustworthy they think they are… all red herrings of course to get an average reader like me to think could they be the murderer?! Probably not, they are still reeling from what’s happened.

The fact that we learn about Cynthia’s connection to the sleeping powders and Poirot’s hint at something being put in her coffee is proof to me that the murderer was responsible for her condition… mainly with the purpose of getting able to get past her door, while being free to make as much noise as possible. There however can be a possibility that Emily left her door unlocked by accident, and that the murderer entered that way thus making the endeavour pointless. So, my thoughts on this are that both could have happened: the murderer entered via the passage, but must have left through Cynthia’s door. I’ll elaborate on what that entails soon.

Even though I got some supporting information, I was however also blinded by what Poirot figured out in regard to the new will Emily made, and how she got her gardeners to 'witness’ it via signature. (Is that how it works? I am no expert in that stuff. 😅) Anyway, I did NOT see that coming… but given that the evidence was largely hidden from us even if hinted in the previous chapter, I’m not going to knock myself for it. My question is that if Emily wrote a new will after her argument with Inglethorp, why did she burn it soon afterward? Did she change her mind about this amended will, or did something happen in between her writing it and doing it… like talking to Mary, for example?

Anyway, here’s the timeline of events. Just a couple of thoughts from the end of the chapter:

I am slightly concerned about what Poirot is thinking. I think it’s fair to believe that he would be heavily fixated on Inglethorp’s clothes (considering that attire might be important to the green fabric in the door and that he’s pretty sus), but I have no idea what he’s going on about the temperature. Is it related to the candlegrease, or how much the coffee/rum evaporated in the night?? I have to hope this doesn’t wreck my theory somehow.

The fact that someone was able to break into the room when it was locked and take what was in the case really only supports the idea that there is a way in and out that is not connected to the passage… and if it’s not the window, I’m willing to bet it is still Cynthia’s door.

John’s explanations surrounding the will, while depressing, are not surprising. I knew that will was going to be a big point of contention, and someone has definitely gone to extremes over it. Whoever they are, they probably haven’t bailed yet because there is not much evidence to suggest that they are the culprit — or they’re waiting for something, like new evidence at the inquest or the funeral where the will’s contents will be finalised. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I still believe it’s pretty likely to be Inglethorp.

So with that all being said, here’s some amendments to the timeline I made to reflect this information compared against each other. (Everything theoretical is in blue.)

Up to the evening itself, everything remains the same — but with the context of events from prior that may explain Emily’s actions with the will. I am only hoping that we get some info from Mary at some point so she can explain what she was talking to her about, so we can explain why the will was burned. Emily must have changed her mind at some point about what was in it, surely?

Now, my main part of the theory is still largely unchanged. (Case in point, I still have no damn idea how they got through Cynthia’s door… mm.) But the crucial difference, I’m willing to believe, is that the murderer was probably in the room after Emily woke — and likely had to improvise after she bolted the door without seeing them. As I write this, I realise that a lot of this stuff really relies on Emily not being able to hear a damn thing… but I still think that something like it is what happened. Despite the times in the top corner, I bet Emily was probably awake for five minutes at the most before she started being affected by the poison.

I guess we will have to wait for the inquest to be sure. If it is still believed that Emily was poisoned before she ever went into her room, and it turns out to be strychnine… then there’ll probably be some confusion. We’ll see.

Hi Minnie, hope you’re well. Saw your reblog about not reposting artwork, and it made me wonder what your thoughts are on something sort of similar.

Most people on here would probably agree that stealing someone’s fan art or fanfic is wrong. But there’s also something I’ve noticed in a smallish, maybe medium-sized fandom I’m in that has gotten some new fans recently. Maybe it happens in other fandoms too. Using Chris for an example—let’s say someone found a rare old interview with him in a print magazine that didn’t seem to be known in the fandom, so they scanned it and posted it. Most people would just reblog or like it. But someone else might nab it and post it on their own Tumblr blog or Twitter or Discord, etc.

Now, I think that’s not so bad if they at least credit and link to the original post. But most people don’t bother to do that, and are happy to accept the credit as if they were the one who found it. This happens fairly often in my fandom now (and it seems to be mostly the newbies doing it) and I’m not sure how to address it as I seem to be the only one who notices or cares.

It’s not quite as bad as stealing someone’s art, because they’re literally just sharing an interview or pic or whatever which they technically don’t own in any way. But I still feel like it’s slightly shady to do if it’s something rare, or maybe if there’s already a very similar “legacy” post that’s well-known in the fandom. What are your thoughts on it? Should we basically accept that as soon as we post something it’s free game for the internet, or try to have a bit more, IDK, Tumblr decorum, lol.

I know some of it’s down to excitement and eagerness to share things, and of course people don’t necessarily see every post even in a small fandom so they might not know that someone already posted something. But the frequency of it happening makes me think maybe they just want all the notes to themselves.

Hi darling! I'm doing well, thank you, I hope you are too! Thank you so much for your message, this is actually such an interesting question, and so eloquently put, too.

I definitely recognise what you're describing, it happens occasionally in the Stucky / Sebastian / Chris fandoms as well, and I basically feel the exact same way about it that you do. I agree it's not quite on the same level as stealing/reposting fanart or fanfic, and it also ranks below using gifs without credit and passing them off as your own, because all of these kinds of works take a great deal of effort and time to create, and are overall very personal in nature.

That isn't quite the case for photos or interviews that people dig up and post, but even that takes time and effort, and so in my opinion, the decent thing to do if you want to share that sort of content to another platform would be to ask permission first, or at the very least to give credit to whomever posted it first (although it is of course hard to determine to whom the credit is really owed in this case, because you could argue the credit belongs to the original photographers/authors only, but of course that is often arguable too when they've been released publicly etc., but hey, how hard is it really to be like "I found this here, thank you to this person to bringing it to my attention!" or something to that effect?)

So yeah, basically I think there can't be any hard rules for this sort of reposting, but I do absolutely think that ideally, everyone should always try to be decent about it, and not just repost stuff they've just seen someone else post and act like it was their own discovery, especially if it's something rare. There are definitely folks around who do this often and shamelessly, ostensibly for the notes and clout. It's not a crime, but it is kinda lame imo, and just bad fandom etiquette.

Japanese JLPT N3 Study Post #4

久しぶり！It's been a while! Things became super hectic in my personal life, but I'm finally back with more grammar posts. I hope to upload a new post every few days, but we'll see how it goes.

Anyway, this time we'll be taking a look at 上げる (あげる）／上がる（あがる）to finish doing. I'll also put together a master post, to help people navigate through each study post I've made.

I recently figured out this "keep reading" function! So hopefully this works well, and it clogs up people's feeds less. Let's continue!

Grammar Point: 上げる／上がる (あげる・あがる)

Meaning: ~to finish doing.

How to use it:

Verb ます stem + あげる/あがる

I explained what a Verb Stem is, and how it functions in Japanese, in my 3rd Grammar Point post, so I have linked it here, if you want to refresh on that!

上げるvs.上がる

I'm sure people are wondering, just like I did, what the difference is between these two!

The difference lies in whether it is a Transitive (他動詞) or Intransitive (自動詞) verbs。 (I should make a separate post on this, because I still stuff this up sometimes, honestly. I'll link it here, once I make it).

上げる（あげる） is a Transitive Verb (他動詞). Transitive verbs require an agent to enact an action upon something. It encapsulates personal will being essential to the movement.

上がる（あがる）is an Intransitive Verb (自動詞). Intransitive verbs　have the power to move of their own accord. The action can be thought of as simply existing as opposed to possessing any form of conscious choice or willpower.

I'll make specific note in the below examples, to make the distinction clear.

Examples:

���女は小説を書きます上げた。

彼女は小説を書き上げた。

She finished writing her book.

Transitive. She finished writing it by her own willpower. よく頑張ったね！

みんなの意見を取り入れて、とてもいいプランが出来ます上がった。

みんなの意見を取り入れて、とてもいいプランが出来上がった。

A very good plan was completed, incorporating the opinions of everyone.

Intransitive Verb. The plan naturally came together of its own accord/effortlessly/as a matter of course.

研究のレポートを一日に書きます上げた。

研究のレポートは一日に書き上げた。

I finished writing my research report in one day.

Transitive. They finished writing it by their own willpower. よく頑張ったね！

彼はたった一人でそのシステムを作ります上げた。

彼はたった一人でそのシステムを作り上げた。

He finished making that system all by himself.

Transitive. He finished making it by his own willpower. よく頑張ったね！

Conclusion

Happily Never Afters

This is a little list of characters and information I came up with for a new... Story? X Reader Series? Idk. I just came up with them and liked them. I will update this as I come up with more characters. For the sake of this not taking up a large portion of the screen, I will put all info, including basic details, under the read more. Trigger warnings will be above it, however, just so people don't stumble upon things that might disturb or trigger them.

TW: Murder, Death/Decay, Disease, Body Horror(?), Curses, Obsessive/Possessive Behaviors, Stalking

Basic Info: I kinda wanted to practice writing more fantastical horror and horror romance ( would that be called dark romance? Idk). So, the basic premise is that these are fairy tales that are switched up, with none ending happily due to those changes, hence the cliche name for the series. I don't really see it as a series that has an overarching plotline, either. Just a bunch of scenarios. Small things will be changed around, too, just because I am interested in the ways that those things can change the plot. Examples of those could be the classic "evil stepmother" now being an "evil stepfather" or a character now having a sibling when they didn't beforehand. The intention of this is to both practice writing and to entertain others, lol. So, there may be weird scenarios, scenarios being written over again with alternative endings, and other such things. If anybody is interested in requesting stuff for certain characters, be it scenarios, headcanons (well, idk if it would be called that due to me being the person creating it, but anyways...), or anything else, they are welcome! Especially since you all may have ideas that I would've never been able to come up with.

With basic info out of the way, onto the characters!

SNOW WHITE characters:

Snow White/Gertrude - She's Snow White. The evil queen tried to have her killed by a huntsman, of course. However, her twin brother, Walter, overheard the plan and convinced Gertrude to let him go in her stead, dressed as her. She didn't believe the plan was true, until news came that Walter was killed, with his heart missing. This caused her to run into the woods, meet the dwarves, and to live with them. Soon, the animals and crops near the little cottage started to die, and she had the feeling that she was being watched. When the evil queen came to give her the apple, disguised as an old lady, Gertrude was desperate and hungry enough to take it and eat it. The curse in this version was not a curse of sleep, but instead, a curse of living dead. She is... Dead, but she is alive. She walks around, and on a first glance, she looks alive, but sickly due to her pale skin. Once you take a closer look, however, you'll see how her eyes are pale and glassy, how her lips look slightly purple of black. She doesn't decay, but the things around her do in their own way. While only edible, crop plants like corn, lettuce, and carrots tend to perish, animals of most every kind die away from disease. The telltale sign of Gertrude's presence, as well as Walter's, is chronic wasting disease in the deer populations near them. Gertrude only became known as Snow White after the curse befell her. True love's kiss would still free her from the spell but... Who would want to kiss an undead woman.

Walter - Walter is Gertrude's twin brother. He also has the nickname of Snow White, with people in nearby villages and towns arguing over whether Gertrude or Walter is the real Snow White. He overheard the queen's plan to have the huntsman kill his sister, so he went in her stead, knowing that a simple change of clothes and lack of speech could possibly trick him. They have always looked uncannily similar, after all. While he was in the afterlife, standing next to his own corpse as a ghost, a fairy godmother came to him. She offered him a chance to save Gertrude from the queen's next trick and to bring him to life. The catch was, he would be under the same curse as the one that the queen would cast on her. If he saves Gertrude in time, the curse would be lifted from him and he could go to the afterlife, and if not, he would never die and the curse shall never go away, not even with true love's kiss. After accepting, he tried to get into contact with his sister, only to fail because of his ghoulish appearance and the disturbing deaths of all the animals around him scaring her away. Once the curse was placed on her, he began to dedicate his undead life to finding her true love. In his eyes, if he can never die or find happiness, he might as well find a way for his sister to do so. He loves her too much to let her suffer.

The Dwarves ran off once Gertrude was cursed, afraid of what she has become and convinced that she would hurt them. Due to this, the twins now live in the cottage alone, trying to live as normal of a life as they can. They can't feel pain, instead feeling uncomfortable, but painless sensations. Random, tickling feelings like insects crawling on them to sudden bouts of heat or cold. Another side effect of the curse is feeling overly strong emotions. Sadness is the main one, due to their predicament, but anger, happiness, and love are also stronger and more intense than before.

CINDERELLA characters:

Cinderella/Ella: Her name is simply Ella. The parts with her working for her evil stepparent and stepsisters are the same, except for the fact that her stepmother is now a stepfather, that is well-known by the nobility due to his growing company. When it comes to the ball, her fairy godmother gives her a different spell than the simple "go to the ball, and at midnight, your clothes will turn back into rags". Instead, the spell is that she needs to go to the ball and dance with the prince, or else at midnight, the magic pumpkin flowers she used to repair Ella's dress will grow around her and drag her back to the wild pumpkin patch they came from. Ella accepts, not seeing the true weight of the downside. When she goes to the ball, she dances with the man she believes to be the prince, having never seen the prince before and getting confused due to all the fancily dressed noblemen around her. When she is dragged to the pumpkin patch, she notices how the vines have grown into her ankles, keeping her grounded to the pumpkin patch. The worst part, however, is that she can go to the edges of the patch, but not far enough to get help. She makes one last wish with her fairy godmother, which is that true love's kiss will free her, with the catch of this wish being that it will not come for at least three years, then after a multitude of lovers may come around to try to free her with a kiss, with only one being her true love that will succeed.

Prince Charming/ Prince Maurice: Prince Maurice takes the role of Cinderella's "Prince Charming". He knows Cinderella's stepfather, Claude, due to how well-known his company is. Maurice has even met Claude to discuss the company. One of those meetings resulted in him meeting Cinderella, as she leads him to her father's office, with Cinderella not knowing that he was a prince because her father purposely kept her in the dark. This simple meeting results in him becoming completely obsessed with Cinderella. From scheduling more meetings to try to see her, to even going as far as dressing as a peasant to stalk her as she runs her errands. During the ball, he sees her and tries to get a dance with her, only for her to dance with multiple other men under the assumption that he was a simple company owner instead of the prince. When he hears that she is trapped in a pumpkin patch, and that only true love's kiss can save her, he immediately heads over to save her. In his eyes, his obsessive love is true love, meaning that they are meant to be. Depending on the version of the spell, his belief that his love is true is what makes the spell work, despite the fact that, objectively, he isn't in LOVE with her, he is in OBSESSION with her. In other versions, where his kiss doesn't work, he tries other ways to get her for himself.

THE LITTLE MERMAID characters:

The Little Mermaid/Emil: I saw somewhere that the original Little Mermaid was written by a homosexual man who failed to get with the love of his life, which was, of course, another man. So, I decided to make the Little Mermaid in this version of the story a male merfolk named Emil, who fell in love with a pirate captain instead of a prince. He makes a deal with the Sea Witch, Clara, to become a human for a day. If he doesn't get with the pirate captain by the dawn of the next day, he will turn back into a merfolk, which could result in him suffocating on land. He fails to get the captain to fall in love with him, resulting in him turning back into a merfolk while on the ship. The captain saves him by placing him in a large barrel full of seawater, where they kept fish to be sold or eaten by the crew. Instead of letting Emil go back to the sea, however, the captain instead decides to parade him around like a freakshow in order to get free gold from the numerous towns his crew stops by, with Emil having no real way to escape. As much as he tries to comfort himself with the fact that he is, in a way, a part of the captain's crew, it doesn't help because he has realized that the captain doesn't see him as a person.

There is three ways I would like to see Starscreams development and role in the Earthspark go, or atleast how I would personally do it- But at that point its just a bunch of AUs and stuff, but whooo cares, they will probably just sideline him anyways so let me have my fun.

Ill go through my ideas briefly for this post and expand each later in seperate posts! I would also love to hear yalls thoughts on them.

All three of these ideas stem from the theory that Mandroid will try and control the decepticons, atleast those that are not disposable enough for parts, including using Starscream as a heavy hitter and for extermination to like figure out how his undying spark functions.

They also stem around the idea that GHOST turns againts the Autobots and those that have been helping them because they simply dont need them anymore. All they need is some mind contolled mfs.

Redemption

Starscream and a handful of rather important cons, like for example Soundwave, Shockwave and some other big boys are controlled chiped under the command of GHOST and Mandroid.

He is sent out on the feild with others to secure and take down the autobots and Megatron, but Starscream breaks from rank as soon as he sees as he sees Megatron, and disobeys direct command to go for Optimus. His spark overloads due to anger and its power and as he goes into a rage againts megatron and his control chip gets fried.

When he realises that the decepticons have been now ordered to take him down because he snapped free, Megatron convinces him to temporarily not shoot down each other, they flee after a while and Megatron refuses to let him run off and drags the unwilling Screamer with him. Megatron doesn't need to long to figure out what will happen to the seeker if Ghost catches him again, and sees him as an opportunity to try and right his wrongs.

Starscream is trying to ditch them constantly because if he has to be in hiding he would rather be alone- But he is basically grounded.

Its made very clear that Starscream is dangerous and not intrested in getting buddy with any autobot- But the terrans soon become and exception because they approach him very diffrently then the others. Though he does not soften up any more, especially to Megatron.

Eventually though he stops trying to murder everyone and his knowledge over sience assits the group quite well.

He becomes an ally

Outcast

The beginning is similar to Redemption, but Starscream decides to dip when he is freed from mind control instead of battling Megatron for a little longer. He has just recived freedom and he wont let anyone keep him in chains anymore, so he does his thing and disapears.

GHOST is hot on his heels but he simply just too fast-

Allthough solitude at first is welcome- He realises he needs the presence of his seekers, and plans to try and free some of the cons. At the same time though he always happens to stumble into the terrans and autobots, leading to plenty of hostile encounters. Its made very clear he is not to be taken lightly.

Especially when cornered and starved. He mostly stays alive by the skin of his teeth (his spark just too good bitch) and is a threat to to everything amd everyone around him

He becomes a secondary threat alongside GHOST, though they are trying to get him.

Weapon

Mandroid figures out Starscreams ability to stay alive much sooner then oringally intended to in the other versions. Instead of sending him out under the control chips like everyone else he keeps him locked up and constantly tampered with like a sience project. Starscream does his best to ressist but he cant do much, helpless as he is picked apart and put back together.

His spark proved to be a pit of energy, a life source that mimiked the allspark in its nature, something that was terribly hard to extinguish.

With more time dediacted to Starscream, Mandroid mamaged to control his spark itself- So resistance was futile. (Kinda like the rampage situation in beast wars).

Starscreams spark got tampered with to the point that it starting lashing out at everything- His spark could be used to litterly suck the life out of other cybertronians- And anything technological and metalic.

Which included Mandroid himself once Starscream broke and got out of control.

He is the main threat alongside GHOST- And then later then main threat on his own- Where he seems to much more unstable, tempermental and violent then usual. Decepticons are not safe from his nature.

andie 😿 how do you, like, go to work and face the fact that you have to be challenged everyday and be busy and be working every single minute of your 9 to 5 like!!! i just had a random thought that work will only get harder and harder and i’ll only have more and more stuff to do (context is that i just graduated and this is my first REAL big girl job) and it’s just depressing to think about 😿 will the sunday scaries ever go away… will i ever get better at my job… of course there are cool things like walks and dinner with friends and bnha episodes that’ll brighten up my life outside of work but still…. :(

Hello my angel!! I struggle with this sometimes too!! I feel like we were put on earth to make things and hang out and eat good stuff and go exploring etc etc, and it does feel pretty constricting to be locked into a 9-5!!

(You can definitely catch me blogging from the bathroom sometimes lmao.)

One good thing is that you absolutely will get better at your job, and it will free up some of your energy. As you get further into your role, you will more easily be able to anticipate what is going to be needed by who and when, and possibly think of ways to automate some of the things you do. And maybe that will give you the break you need, but maybe it will also free you up to take on different challenges that interest you more. You will also get a better perspective on the goals of your company and it might reveal to you that you're in the wrong role, or that there are more interesting roles for you to occupy in your org, or even that this type of job just isn't for you.

I take a lot of comfort in the fact that I'm at the reins always, and I can change my circumstances if I want. For example, I'm currently in the middle of a role transition myself, because my old job was not interesting or challenging enough, but soon it will be time for me to reevaluate where to go next. Do I want to stay here or do this new job at another company, or leave tech altogether, given that everyone seems to be sprinting at breakneck speeds to harness LLMs for their business needs with absolutely no consideration for the ethics?

You are always in charge of your own fate, and your first job is likely not your forever job!! I'd tough it out for a little and see what you think once you've gotten a handle on it, but don't ever feel like you're locked in. You can and should jump ship and play around with other roles elsewhere to find what is meaningful and comfortable for you!!

And then vote leftist down your ballots come election time lmao. The Sunday scaries do not have to last forever if we can ever point our societies in the direction of universal basic income. 😌

How would Otis spend his weekend?

Hi! Thank you for such a fun and interesting question!! 💕💝

Having a weekend that is set apart from the rest of the week would mean that he'd have a job, which I'm sure people have varying opinions on. I'm not sure where I stand with that, but he probably has a lot of odd jobs around town; he helps out Spaulding at the gas station, he helps out RJ when he disassembles and sells the victim's cars for parts... Stuff like that. There's plenty of work to do around the house too; they have chickens for example. As another side-note, I'm not sure if others feel the same, and the movie isn't clear on this either, but I'm pretty sure some of Otis' art projects are in Spauldings museum (crocodile lady) so that's also something he fills his time with.

I headcanon that Otis reads quite a bit, both non-fiction and fiction. For the non-fiction he likes all sorts of stuff; philosophy, biographies of artists and musicians he likes, a little bit of history even. And for fiction, he reads anything that catches his eye. He doesn't finish every book he starts, sometimes he puts one down for months and then picks it up again much later if he's in the mood for it. He likes horror, perhaps even cosmic horror like tales by Lovecraft.

But to Otis, a truly good weekend is one where there's visitors 🔪, and when he has an s/o - you need to be there too. So here is an ideal weekend for him:

Saturday:

It starts off simple; he makes love to you in bed, then a quick shower and a lazy breakfast, chatting with the family in the kitchen while Baby squeezes oranges for fresh orange juice. He lazes around a bit, reads some, and then a couple comes in. The afternoon is filled with a chase and he's so glad to get his blood pumping. In the evening, he lights the candles and it's torture time. Once he grows bored, or the victim passes out, he returns to you and needs to get some more of that lust out, but not bloodlust this time.

Sunday:

It starts off much the same, but this time he makes the poor victim watch as he fucks you - his favourite kind of sex. He doesn't shower after, he likes the blood. These particular victims perished soon, and they bury the bodies. The hard work of that is tiring. None of the visitors inspired him this time, so he gets a little moody. You take him on a drive and the mood is so different than how it was the day before, much quieter and more subdued. You like him like this too, though, and you watch the stars and he rests his head on your shoulder for a while. Then you head back to the house, perhaps have a little treat before bed, and then the weekend is over!
